A Great Big Guide to Minis, Grids and Combat (WARNING: REALLY FREAKIN’ LONG!)
Part 1: Minis
Finding the right Miniature for what you want can be a monumental task, and because there's so many types of Mini out there, I'm breaking this section down in the hopes that it'll help...
Metal Minis
I'm just gonna say it right now, Metal Minis are hard to find. Wizards of the Coast don't do them any more: They're chunky and heavy, but also extremely durable.
If you're looking for Metal Minis in your area, you can find a lot of Metal Minis at old Wargaming Stores and Hobby Shops, and often at a pretty great price because they're so old and badly painted because they're from the 80's.
I know people that have bought Solid Lead Minis from Wargames from the 60's and they look pretty great even today (I mean the paint is a little faded and chipped, but still...), which is a testament to just how durable these things are...
Metal Minis are great if you want Minis that are durable and will last for your whole campaign and beyond, and you can easily order and buy Metal Minis online from companies like Reaper Miniatures and their "Metal Fantasy" Collection, and with Services like HeroForge Minis, you can even make your own Metal Minis, albeit a little bit more expensive than your average Mini.
Plastic Minis
Plastic Minis are pretty much the standard for Minis. You can find both painted and unpainted Plastic Minis in almost every D&D Store and you can often buy them in bulk online or buy individual minis in store for great prices.
Wizards of the Coast (The People that make D&D) have their own lines of both Painted and Unpainted Plastic Miniatures available online, and you can often find individual Plastic Miniatures available in your Local D&D Store, online through things like Amazon, eBay or Miniature Market, or just buy them in bulk through places like the Wizards of the Coast Products Page.
And while these Plastic Miniatures are cheaper than the Metal Minis, they sacrifice durability for cost, and these Minis can often break at the worst of times...
But, as the standard for most D&D games, and available almost anywhere, Plastic Miniatures are your best bet for finding 3D Minis to use in your Game.
Paper Minis
Paper Minis are two-sided Minis that go on little stands, and the art for them is absolutely beautiful...
Most of these are extremely cheap, and some even give you the chance to use your own Printer to create dozens of amazing looking D&D Minis.
Most Paper Minis come as Downloadable Content that lets you print everything at home, while some come on Cardstock that you can pop out and place in their stands.
Paper Minis are absolutely perfect for play, and even when bulk-buying the Paper Minis printed on Cardstock, you can get literally hundreds of Paper Minis for almost no significant cost.
And while yeah, they're not exactly "durable", they're great for saving money, and they're still beautiful to look at.
Pre-Painted Minis
Pre-Painted Minis are almost as standard as Plastic Minis, and they often go hand-in-hand.
Wizards of the Coast Minis almost always have some variety of Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures, while their Nolzur's Marvellous Miniatures Line of Unpainted Plastic Miniatures are there for those that want to paint their own.
There are well over 2,000+ Individual Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures out there that are available to purchase from pretty much anywhere, and while Pre-Painted Metal Minis are rare, and the paint jobs are often kinda old, they are available...
But I will give a fair warning that Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures can come with faults: Some break in transit, some have bent swords and spears, some are painted so strangely that characters and monsters can have crazy eyes and look a little too silly on close inspection…
But Pre-Painted Plastic Minis are still great to use, pretty cheap to buy, and it's only in rare cases that you'll be unsatisfied with what you get...
Painting Your Own Minis...
Like I've said, the Nolzur's Marvellous Miniatures Line of Unpainted Plastic Miniatures are there for the Dungeon Masters that want to paint their own minis.
This line of Minis is Plastic, and come already covered in a Grey Primer and are pretty much ready to paint right out of the box.
However, while the Unpainted Plastic Minis cost just a tad less than the Pre-Painted Plastic Minis, getting into painting Minis can be an expensive hobby, as you often end up buying dozens of different paints, brushes, and more just to paint a single mini.
But don't be dissuaded from doing it, you can find Paints for Minis on the Wizards of the Coast Products Page and Online where available...
Commissions: There are People out there that you can Commission to paint your Minis for you, and most services are pretty cheap, so ask your Local D&D Store if they can paint your Minis for you, or if they hold classes in painting Minis...
Learning to Paint: Painting Minis takes time and patience, but can be very rewarding in the end, and starting out can be just as easy as looking up a tutorial video or signing up for mini painting classes at your Local D&D Store.
And while your first few self-painted Minis might not look great, overtime you'll become a great painter, and can save a bit of cash over time by buying Unpainted Plastic Minis and painting then yourself, so double win!
Where To Find Good Minis...
There are a LOT of places to find Miniatures, from Metal to Plastic to Paper to Painted to Unpainted, so I'll break it down for you.
Metal Minis: Metal Minis are hard to come by, but can be found online being sold as Individual Minis.
Most old Metal Minis come Pre-Painted but might need a new lick of paint, while some are entirely unpainted.
You can find most Metal Minis at your Local D&D Store, as well as online at the usual places of eBay and Amazon.
If you're looking for Custom Metal Minis, I'd suggest taking a look at HeroForge Minis, and while they might be a little expensive to some people, I think having a custom mini that's pretty darn durable is worth the price.
Plastic Minis: You can find Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures in almost every D&D Store and pretty much anywhere online. You can buy in bulk and get full sets of minis, or buy them individually (and normally for a cheaper price) at your Local D&D Store.
I'd recommend places like Miniature Market and Amazon when looking for Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures, and for Unpainted Plastic Minis, not only can you find those Online and in your friendly neighbourhood D&D Store, but there are plenty of great companies out there that produce some absolutely stunning custom minis for you to paint.
Painted & Unpainted Minis: You can find the Nolzur's Marvellous Miniatures Line of Unpainted Plastic Miniatures both online and in-store, as well as the Icons of the Realms Line of Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures for those people that want them.
There are also companies out there that do Custom Unpainted Plastic Minis, like Reaper Miniatures or Gale Force 9, and I'll be sure to leave a Comment with as many Links as I can find...
Paper Miniatures: My personal favourite place for Paper Minis is Printable Heroes. They have a whole selection of Free Downloadable Content that you can print off at home.
But, if you're looking for Paper Minis that aren't just D&D, Paizo makes a line of Cardboard Cutout Miniatures called Pathfinder Pawns.
Cheap Alternatives to Minis...
If you unfortunately can’t afford to spend money on Minis, there are plenty of really fun and really cheap alternatives to Minis.
Tokens from other Tabletop and Board Games, Lego Pieces, even a bunch of colourful M&Ms can still be used to show where your heroes and monsters stand…
Part 2: Terrain
I'm going to break this Section down just like the Minis Section, because there's just as many options for creating Dungeons and Maps as there are for Miniatures and Monsters.
Markers, Maps & Gaming Paper
You can buy Markers pretty cheap from pretty much anywhere, and basic blank Maps that you can draw on and erase with relative ease.
And some advice: Check the Markers you're using on your dry-erase or wet-erase maps, because you don't want to draw in permanent marker by accident and suddenly have that one "Permanent Dungeon Room"...
You can find entire rolls of Blank Maps that you can draw on from places like GamingPaper.com and Chessex.com, as well as Online from Amazon (because Amazon is our overlord, provider of all!), and these Maps come with Hexagonal Grids and Square Grids that suit whatever kind of game you want to play.
Flexible Battle Mats
From my own experience, this has been the most common type of terrain I use: They're flat maps, sometimes a variant of vinyl, sometimes just straight up fancy cloth, but they're the most available thing I can find, and have always been available to me through my Local D&D Store as well as Online in the usual places.
I call these "Flexible" because you can fold them and roll them and they won't warp or bend, and none of the Markers I use smudge or stain these maps in anyway compared to the cheaper options that might not last as long.
These maps are often just a single depiction of a generic area: A map of the woods, some mountains, the dock of a port city...
And some can get pretty weird if you look in the right places. I found a Map for a Githyanki Warship floating over an Ocean, and I've used that specific map about 4 times already!
You can find these types of Maps in your Local D&D Store for pretty cheap prices, and since most of them are maps of forests or mountains or underground caverns, they're gonna see a lot of use…
Dungeon Tiles
A lot of Companies produce modular dungeon tiles that are essentially dry-erase boards that clip together, and I personally think these are the coolest!
You can draw a dungeon room on each tile, and slowly piece them together as the Players explore the Dungeon, and really evoke a sense of exploration and "Fog of War".
You can buy these Dungeon Tiles Online, Wizards of the Coast even produces a line of Generic Dungeon Tiles, but I'd recommend Tac-Tiles with their dry-erase Dungeon Tiles, and again, check that the Markers you want to use don't stain or smudge when drawing lines…
3D Terrain
3D Terrain is great for keeping the sense of immersion during combat, and many times has the word of DwarvenForge been spoken to me as something from the sacred texts.
You can buy modular 3D Terrain Tiles from DwarvenForge, yes, but don't forget that there are plenty of other companies that produce 3D Terrain that's just as good.
You can buy Cut-and-Assemble Papercraft Terrain, buy Terrain that's been sculpted using moulds, resin and plaster, you can buy Miniatures from Wizards of the Coast themselves that are pieces of Terrain like Wagons, Carts, Stalactites and Stalagmites, and all of these are relatively cheap compared to buying hundreds of pieces of DwarvenForge.
But trust me when I say DwarvenForge is BADASS, their stuff is practically indestructible, and it lights up, and it even has a square grid on it too!
You can find all sorts of all kinds of 3D Terrain to enhance your experience of D&D, and you can typically find it in the usual places, but I'll put a whole bunch of links in this Post to help guide those that are looking...
Cheap Alternatives: Wrapping Paper
The other side of Wrapping Paper often has a square grid on it that's normally used for measuring and cutting paper, but I've seen and even used the other side of Wrapping Paper as a cheap and disposable alternative to a battle map, and it even comes with it's own square grid that you can draw on!
Yes, it does bleed and smear a lot when you use Markers, but it's so cheap and disposable that I can hardly complain…
And the best part, you can buy rolls and rolls of Wrapping Paper for ridiculously cheap prices and those rolls can last you a long, long time...
Part 3: Status Markers
What are Status Markers? Why do you need them?
Well, Status Markers are colourful little things you place on Minis to show that the Mini is under some sort of condition or spell effect. Status Markers are great for helping Players and the DM remember Spells and Conditions affecting multiple Creatures over multiple rounds of combat.
And these Status Markers can be anything from old plastic milk carton rings to professional 3D Printed Rings with every condition and spell effect accounted for.
If you're looking for professional status markers for your Minis, you can buy them by the butt-load from eBay, Amazon, and my personal favourite, Dakota Irish, who make some beautiful Status Markers designed to fit your D&D Minis, and they come in a variety of colors to suit your style…
Part 4: Initiative Trackers
An Initiative Tracker let's both the DM and the Players visually track the Initiatives of all the DM's Monsters and the Player's Characters.
And you can place all of them directly in front of you and the rest of the group, letting Players know "Hey, I'm up next!" or "Oh sh*t! It's almost that Bad Guy's turn!".
Many a time have I said "It's your go, what do you do?" and their response is "Oh sh*t! It's my go already?"
With this system, both myself and all my Players can see whose turn it is and who is next up...
My personal recommendations for Initiative Trackers are the 25 Piece Dungeon Master Set from Dakota Irish, and the Initiative Trackers by AxenShield that let you write your Party Member's Name or the Name of your Monster on one of the 8 flags, and flip the flag to the opposite side as turns are taken.
Are Initiative Trackers needed for Fun Combat? No.
Are they fancy as heck and help forgetful Players? Definitely.
Part 5: Combat Risers & Combat Pillars
These Combat Risers (also called "Combat Pillars" or “Combat Tiers”) give you the ability to show elevation and create a 3-Dimensional Space for your Miniature Combat.
It also gives you the chance to have combat at different heights with a series of combat stage platforms, and it's great for aerial combat. And trust me I say it makes underwater combats so much easier, just because it lets you accurately represent three dimensional combat on a map.
You can find multi-coloured and clear transparent Combat Risers on Amazon (like everything else here) and from some of the sites and places I've already mentioned, such as the Combat Risers Clear Mithril Set from AxenShield.
Part 6: Spell Effect Miniatures & Spell Effect Overlays
Spell Effect Miniatures
Spell Effect Miniatures are just like Monster and Hero Miniatures. These Spell Effect Miniatures are often Pre-Painted Plastic Miniatures that represent some of the bigger spells like Bigby's Hand or Spiritual Weapon.
Wizards of the Coast have their own line of Spell Effect Miniatures as part of their Icons of the Realms Line of Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures, with a Set for Spells like Wall of Fire and Wall of Ice, as well as a Box Set called "Arcane Fury and Divine Might", which contains several different Spell Effect Miniatures.
And there's more Spell Effect Miniatures to come! With Wizards of the Coast releasing a new Spell Effect Miniatures Box Set called "Mighty Conjurations", with Spell Effect Miniatures for Flaming Sphere, Forcecage, Guardian of Faith and more!
Also releasing in Early 2020 is Halaster's Tumultuous Templates, a set of Wizards of the Coast Branded Spell Templates that represent a bunch of different Spells, from Burning Hands to Moonbeam to everyone's favourite: Fireball.
You can find these Spell Effect Miniatures as Box Sets in your Local D&D Store, as well as online in the usual places like Amazon and eBay.
Spell Effect Templates & Spell Effect Overlays
Spell Effect Overlays let you as a Dungeon Master check the Range of a Spell, whether the Creature is in Line of Sight with the Caster, and help you as a DM (or a Player) remember Spells affecting an area or Spells affecting multiple Creatures over multiple rounds of combat.
My personal favourites are the Spell Effect Overlays from Arcknight, with Spell Effect Overlays for Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Web, Cone of Cold, Burning Hands, Fear, Dragon Breath, Faerie Fire, Moonbeam, Tidal Wave, Wall of Fire, Thunderwave and More, as well Buff Tokens, Inspiration Tokens, Monster Summoning tokens and so much more that I can't even fit here…
Every template comes on a die cut transparent plastic that's printed on both sides: With cool graphics on one side and notes on the spells effects on the other.
But if you're looking for a simpler template, AxenShield provide Spell Effect Templates and Overlays in various colours, with grids etched on to show the range and area of effect for each spell.
And, like always, you can always take a look on Amazon and eBay and everywhere else on the Internet for alternatives...

Top 7 Cheap Hobbies and 40 More You Will Need to Try
Looking for some fun cheap hobbies?
Just to make sure we are on the same page, let’s take a look at the definition of the word “hobby”:
Hobby: may include almost any regular activity one does for pleasure – typically during one’s own free time.
Now, what are some of the best cheap hobbies people are doing right now?
This list is for you. Yes, there are hobbies out there that aren’t going to cost you an arm and a leg. Actually, we found some fun little hobbies that actually help you make money!
In fact, this very blog you are reading right now started as an online hobby for me before turning into a blogging business. With that said, let’s start off with fun inexpensive online hobbies.
The Top 7 Cheap Hobbies
Here are the best hobbies on the cheap. Most of these literally don’t cost any money at all.
1. Reading
This is pretty much the ultimate frugal hobby. Almost every community has a library you can use for free as long as you follow the rules and return your books on time. You can also start a book club, or swap books with friends to find more reading material.
2. Running
Running is probably the cheapest form of exercise out there. All you need to get started is a decent pair of shoes.
3. Cooking
For some cooking is truly a hobby. Even if you dont love to cook, it’s definitely a good skill to have because cooking and eating at home is way cheaper than going out to eat. If you need some ideas for cooking, try out Erin Chase’s $5 Dinners – the site dedicated to helping you make each meal a $5 total…not five dollars per person.
4. Home Brewing
There are lots of online resources that can teach you how to get started brewing your own beer, wine, or cider at home. It might a little equipment to get started, but if you regularly enjoy these beverages instead of buying them at the liquor store you’ll definitely save money in the long run.
5. Garage Sale-ing
I love this hobby because you get out of the house, you meet people, and you can make money. I have a friend who started with $30 and a few months later she was making $1,000 per month garage sale-ing. She would buy things for cheap at the garage sale and re-sell online and make a profit. Her first buy was buying a Little Tikes playhouse for $30 which she cleaned up and resold for $200!
6. Explore Your Genealogy
Ask your family members for help with this project, or start looking online. When I put together my family genealogy, I was surprised at how much information I could find online.
7. Start a Blog
Since my hobby was and still is blogging, I’m going to open up with blogging to start.
Do you happen to love writing? If so, wouldn’t it be cool to start your own blog where you are free to write about whatever you want and put it out there for the world to see?
Here’s the secret to blogging as a hobby: write about whatever makes you happy.
Your mind is swirling with ideas and things you want to say, so say them through a blog.
Do you love being a mom? Then blog about it.
Do you love woodworking? Then you should blog about it.
Do you love coaching your kid’s sports? Then start a blog about it.
Or, do you love something no one has ever heard of? Then yes, you should definitely blog about that as well.
If you are ready (and I hope you are) to start you very own blog, I have personally put together a step-by-step guide so you can easily get started writing today for about $5 per month. I even included screenshots of the process to walk you through it step-by-step so you don’t have to worry about any of the tech issues.
In fact, if you can post something to social media or even ask Siri to call Grandma, then you can definitely start a blog.
Okay, I’m ready to start my blog now.
The Online Hobbies
We start with online hobbies since you’re actually online right now. These are hobbies you can start today from the same device you are reading this right now.
8. Fill Out Online Surveys
There are dozens of these sites popping up that claim to pay you money for taking surveys online. Some of them are sketchy, however some of them are legitimate and will actually pay you in cash via PayPal or in gift cards. You can see our full review of all the different survey sites we have researched here Best Online Surveys right now.
Survey Junkie has been around since 2005 and is the most trusted in the survey industry with a Trustpilot Rating of 4.4/5.
If you’re going to spend your time on a free hobby, start out with Survey Junkie and they will send you cash to your PayPal, Amazon or Target gift card for taking surveys on your time!
9. Buy and Re-sell Things Online
There are so many re-selling websites to choose from these days, which can help you get the best prices for your “treasures”. OfferuUp, eBay, Craigslist, Facebook buy/sell/trade groups, Facebook Marketplace and Poshmark more are just a few that I’ve used to sell stuff in the past.
We have a full list of the 21 best apps to sell stuff online here.
10. Listen to a New Podcast
There are podcasts about every topic under the sun. Surely you can find one that interests you.
You can start listening to the Money Peach Podcast in your car, at the gym, or on the go right here.
11. Watch Cat Videos
There are some pretty funny cat videos on YouTube that can keep you entertained for hours. (Or maybe that’s just me?)
Let the record show that Peach does NOT watch cat videos on YouTube.
    6. Play Free Games Online
You may be surprised to learn that there are health benefits to be had from playing video games. There are so many websites where you can play games online and there are tons of different kinds of games to choose from too. There are even some sites that will actually pay you to play their online games.
The Financial Hobbies
What’s better than making money? How about a hobby that actually pays from extra pocket money all the way to full-time income.
12. Become a Landlord
You can start renting out a portion of your house on a site like Airbnb. If you find out you like being a landlord, you could always expand into owning rental properties.
13. Investing
Learning about investing and then actually doing it are two things that could almost be separate hobbies in and of themselves. Investing is a smart hobby to take up once you have a little extra income to put toward your investments. If you are already there and want to get started, here is our updated investing for dummies guide.
14. Thrift Shopping and Garage Sale-ing
When I lived in a bigger community I loved going to thrift stores and garage sales on the weekend. This is a fun activity, especially if you go with a friend. You can also save money as long as you avoid buying things you don’t really need.
15. Couponing
Again, couponing can be fun but you might end up spending more than you planned on if you aren’t careful with your purchases. One of our favorite couponing tricks is using the Honey browser extension. Instead of searching the internet for promo codes, Honey searches for you in real time and automatically applies the promo code for you at checkout.
Install Free Honey Browser Extension
16. Volunteering
That’s kind of financial since time is money, right? Give some of your time to your favorite charities, or join a group or board in your town to give back to civic organizations.
17. Start a Business
I’ve kind of touched on this before, but almost anything on this list can actually be turned into some kind of a money-making business or side hustle idea. Starting a business is fun and it’s a good way to make some extra money.
18. Budgeting Cash Flow Planning (that sounds better)
How to Start a Cash Flow Plan
What list of hobbies on a personal finance blog would be complete without listing budgeting? It may not sound fun at first, but I actually love working on my projected budgets for future months now that I’ve gotten good at budgeting.
And if you would like to get started with your own budget, you can get started with the Cash Flow Formula for FREE.
The Cash Flow Formula is the #1 tool to start saving more money and stop overspending each month…and it’s a GREAT hobby!
Outside Hobbies
Let’s move our fun inexpensive hobbies away from the computer and out inside the fresh air. Here’s a list of the top (and often free) hobbies that get you outside.
19. Gardening
Depending on how you go about it, gardening can be a pretty inexpensive hobby to try. If you get good enough at it, you might even be able to lower your grocery bill by growing more of your own food.
20. Camping
Camping is another cheap hobby than doesn’t have to be as expensive as you may think. I truly enjoy camping and waking up to a brisk morning. It’s almost like a vacation, only cheaper.
21. Become a Master BBQer
There are actually whole weekends devoted to BBQ competitions in my neck of the woods. If you are good with a grill, this might be a fun hobby to consider.
22. Geocaching
Geocaching is basically a high-tech treasure hunt. Find out how to get started here.
23. Rock Collecting
Pick up all those shiny things. If you call it a “collection” no one will judge you for bringing home random rocks anymore. 😉
24. Bird Watching
Just don’t become a crazy bird lady (or guy)!
25. Hunting
The equipment can be expensive if you don’t already own it, but you may also be able to borrow from a friend or family member to try out this hobby if you’re a beginner. Most hunters enjoy sharing their hobby with newbies to keep the sport alive.
26. Fishing
Same goes here! Most avid fishermen are more than willing to take along new people who don’t have their own equipment. Just don’t wear out your welcome if you fall in love with this hobby.
Intellectual Hobbies

Playing games is one of my family’s favorite hobbies, especially is the weather is crappy outside. We don’t discriminate, we like to play board games and card games. 33. Read the News
Doesn’t sound very exciting, but you might be surprised what you can learn when you start reading the news regularly. Don’t just keep up on local news either, the world is bigger than that. Make sure you find out what’s going on elsewhere in the world too.
Exercise Hobbies
First we started online, then we started making money with your hobby, then we moved outside and after that we started using our brain power for our hobbies. This next list is the best fun inexpensive hobbies that will also burn a few calories.
34. Biking
Most people have a bike sitting in their garage or storage shed. If you have an old unused bike, it won’t cost you much to give it a tune-up so you can start riding it again. Biking around your neighborhood is free.
35. Get in Shape with Body Weight Exercises
Some you know that Peach is a Crossfit enthusiast. I’m a former Crossfiter myself, but I cut it from my budget to pay off my debt faster. One good habit I picked up from there that I still continue in my home workouts is doing bodyweight exercises. Like running, all you need for bodyweight exercises are good shoes and maybe a few standard household items. You can do things like air squats, pushups, situps, lunges, etc. without spending money.

44. Animal Husbandry
Growing up we raised many different kinds of animals on my parents’ farm. I still love animals and taking care of them today and it’s definitely a good skill to have.

The Not-So-Cheap Fun Hobbies
Maybe you’re just curios about the expensive hobbies? If so, here are a list of the top 10 hobbies that will absolutely break the bank.
46. Scuba Diving
Not only is scuba extremely fun, but it’s also extremely expensive. You can plan on $300 – $400 every time you throw the tank on and dive in and don’t forget it’s also extremely dangerous.
In fact, you will even have a hard time getting life insurance if you scuba dive on a regular basis.
47. Sky Diving
Technically their are statistics to prove you’re more likely to die in the car on the way to skydiving than actually jumping out of an airplane. As much as that is supposed to make me feel better, I still don’t like the $300 – $400 fee to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
However, if you have the extra coin to take part in this extremely intense hobby, then let us know how it goes in the comments below.
48. Flying
I don’t know if I need to go into a huge explanation here: flying as a hobby is expensive.
To even be certified as a pilot to fly your own plane will cost you $7,000 – $10,000. Then once you are certified, you then need to buy a plane or rent one at the starting cost of $125/hour. Then add on fuel and maintenance costs and you have an extremely expensive hobby.
49. Mountain Climbing
Where I live (Phoenix), mountain climbing is a very popular hobby. While getting started in this hobby is not extremely expensive, it will be eventually.
From the people I have talked to, you start off climbing the mountain near your home. After you climb that one, you start to travel to the next thriller of a mountain. Sooner than later you find yourself booking a trip to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro at a cost of about $4,000 not including travel expenses.
50. Ballroom Dancing
My wife and I actually looked into ballroom dancing lessons because we were told it was a fun inexpensive hobby. We were told wrong.
Thanks to Dancing with the Stars, this once inexpensive hobby will now set you back about $150 – $200 for each lesson. My wife and I went into ballroom dancing as something to bring us closer together. However, after seeing the cost we both realized it would only push us further apart (kidding).
Final Thoughts
Yes, you can always sit on the couch and Netflix and chill as a hobby. But, chances are since you’re reading this far down the page, you’ve been there and done that.
So what’s it going to be? Blogging, sewing, running, couponing, or are you going to dive into a more expensive hobby and jump out of an airplane?
Whatever you decide to do, please let us know about your new fun hobby in the comments below.

Even if you don’t love to cook, it’s definitely a good skill to have because cooking and eating at home is way cheaper than going out to eat.
After exercising your body in the fresh air, here are the best fun inexpensive hobbies that only require brain power.
27. Writing
Writing can be a fun hobby and it doesn’t have to turn into more than that. You can write in a diary, write short stories for fun, or write even write to make money like I mentioned earlier. Looking To Buy A Car? Use These Tips To Help You
A new Volkswagen is quite exciting, but the shopping isn’t always fun. A little knowledge goes a long way when purchasing a vehicle. Take heed of the pointers that follow to begin understanding the process.
Always negotiate down the sticker price. If you don’t do this, then you are literally throwing money out the window. There is no reason to pay that much. They are purposely inflated in order to allow room to dicker with the customer, and you should take advantage of this fact.
Don’t let a salesperson talk you into purchasing a vehicle that you are unable to afford. Many people get hoodwinked into buying a sports car because salespeople say the person looks good in it. Remember that the salesperson’s goal is to earn a good commission, so he or she benefits when you are convinced to purchase a pricier vehicle.
You should be aware of what you want out of a car. You can do your research online to find the vehicle best equipped for your needs. Also, try to lock in a price range that you are willing to spend.
Look all over the Internet searching for deals. An Internet search is able to save you a lot of money. You have a couple choices. You can drive to the dealer to buy the Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA you find, or ask the dealer to buy the Volkswagen for you. If you can get to the dealership, make the drive to save the most money.
If you buy a vehicle from an individual, make sure that you have it checked out by a mechanic first. If the owners don’t allow this, then it is best that you do not buy it. There might be hidden, expensive issues that have a bearing on whether the car is right for you. You want information before you buy into these.
Don’t ever pay full price. That usually isn’t what the salesmen will expect of you anyway. If you lack assertiveness, bring along someone who is comfortable with negotiating. You should be sure that you know what a fair price for the vehicle is beforehand so you know what you are willing to pay.
You should never pay a car’s sticker price. That usually isn’t what the salesmen will expect of you anyway. If you can’t negotiate, bring in a skilled friend. You can determine the most you’re willing to pay by researching the value of the cars you are interested in ahead of time.
Volkswagen In Lynchburg VA shopping will take many hours. The only way to come to a decision that you are comfortable with is to take your time. Keeping an afternoon open entirely is best. If you don’t have that much time, simply plan to return if need be.
Look into the vehicle’s safety features. Anti-lock braking systems are essential. The more air bags the car has, the better. Safety is important, since you will be traveling in this vehicle alot.
Get recommendations from people you trust. Are they happy with their purchases? How well would they say the Volkswagen has held its value? What do they know about other cars out on the market? This is the best way to start gathering information when purchasing a Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA.
If you’re driving a nice car already, don’t bring it to the dealership when you’re looking for another. They’ll see that nice car and try to give you a bad offer since they think that you’re walking around with quite a bit of money.
Bring someone with you if you don’t think you can withstand sales pressure. Take someone you trust to help facilitate negotiations and ask key questions. Let the adviser know what you need in order to budget prior to going to a lot.
Test drive your proposed vehicle without fail. Be sure to test drive any vehicle. It doesn’t matter if it seems perfect. You can’t know without driving it. Nothing is better than having a hands-on experience. You may find that the car has a rougher ride than expected or is just not what you anticipated.
Call your bank about financing ahead of your purchase. This will help you know how much money you can borrow and the type of interest rate you will be looking at. Often times a dealership will get you a better offer than your bank, however it’s always good to have a backup plan.
Try your luck online. You will access to a wider selection when compared to dealerships. Completely research any vehicle you are thinking of purchasing before you visit the car lot. You can find out as much information as you would like to know by searching online.
Try to shop for your new vehicle towards month’s end. Salesman are often struggling to fulfill quotas at this time. You might find a salesman is more willing to cut you a better deal if he is in the last week of the month and is still short of his quota.
Go car shopping at the close of the month. There is usually a quota in place at dealerships which the sales people strive to reach. Some salespeople want to make a deal because they are desperate to meet their monthly goal.
Auto Shows
You may be unable to find the car that is perfect for you. You might not be able to afford what you want at the dealer; shop around! Missing out on heated seats won’t destroy your driving experience after all.
Auto shows are a great way to narrow down your options. Auto shows are a unique opportunity to compare many different makes side-by-side under one roof. It will also give you a chance to talk to many knowledgeable people all in one location. You’ll be able to leave the show with a much better idea of what you are looking for.
What is your absolute maximum expenditure permitted? You should know what you want to spend and the price of the car.
Before you even step foot into a car dealership, you need to have a solid number in mind. This number should reflect the amount you want to spend and the value of whatever Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA you want to buy.
When you locate a car you wish to get, go over it with a fine toothed comb. Inspect the exterior of the car for scratches and dents. Find any stains or tears on the carpet and the upholstery. When that car is purchased, the problems become yours. You will be responsible for all chips, rips, scratches and window cracks.
If you want to get a great bargain on an older vehicle, hunt on the Internet. This can give you the advantage of convenience. Try Craigslist, eBay and your local classifieds. You won’t feel pressure from a salesperson and can also save money.
If you know you want a specific model, call ahead and ask if the dealer has one on the lot. If you appear on the dealer’s lot, a salesperson is going to work hard to get your business. When your heart is set on something in particular — a hatchback, for example — you will be wasting your time by showing up at a dealership that cannot meet your needs. Call ahead and find out.
Check out prices in nearby cities as well as your own. You might get a better deal if you buy from a neighboring city, since prices vary from zip code to zip code. Pricing trends online can give you a great idea as to find the best location to buy your Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA.
Be sure to look for rebates before you go shopping. Lots of car dealerships offer on-site rebates. If you find a dealer that is not honest, they might not tell you about it.
Wait a bit before purchasing the newest model. Otherwise, you’re going to pay much more than you have to for the Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA. Take your time and then check it out down the road.
Once you have an offer you like, mention your trade in. The dealer may try to give you a not-so-great deal on the trade in, but you will have bargaining leverage since you already have a firm purchase price for the new car. You’ve done enough work, now it’s time to buy.
Do some research on incentives before you negotiate. You should learn about programs like rebates, warranties, bank fees, and trade-ins. You will be in a better position to negotiate if you are aware of the various offers prior to arriving at the dealership to make your purchase.
Research the “hidden” costs of the car. Each car has its own particular maintenance costs, insurance costs, fuel needs, etc. See how much gas you are likely to use on a regular basis, whether you need special types of oil, and research the cost of routine part replacements. These things combined may make the car unaffordable.
Visit an insurance agent in order to receive an estimated cost of coverage prior to buying your desired vehicle. A Volkswagen in Lynchburg VA you think is reasonably priced may appear otherwise after you take the cost of insurance into consideration. Find a vehicle that’s a great balance between affordable insurance and price.
Don’t let the sales staff take your money. They sometimes seem quite trustworthy, but that can be just for show. A great personality and ingratiating attitude may be flattering, but don’t let it influence you to buy a vehicle that isn’t your best bet.
If your salesperson leaves to give your offer to his or her manager, you should realize that they will not bring back the lowest possible price just yet. Provide another counter-offer and when that is given to their manager, you’ll know what the lowest is. It is rare for them to haggle beyond this point; they would like to make the sale as quickly as possible.
There is no hurry when you are buying a car. Dealers are going to always try and create a false sense of urgency that may pressure you to buy sooner rather than later. Do not be fooled by this. Promotions tend to stick around for longer than just today.
Buying a vehicle can be very frightening for lots of people. This cannot be disputed. When you are armed with information, it can actually be a fun experience. The piece you have just read can get you on the right track.
Keep in mind that low payments per month might reflect a larger long term price tag. It is easy to get distracted trying to find that monthly payment that fits into your budget. During the course of negotiations, some salespeople may use this to their advantage and offer you low monthly rates but a higher total price. Also, read the fine print in your contract before you write your name on the dotted line.

Description:
From: The Desk of Jim MorganHome-Based Woodworking Business Owner & Enthusiast
Starting a woodworking business will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make in your life…
Your woodworking business will provide you with a great part-time income while allowing you to spend more quality time with the family. Best of all, you will have FUN doing what you love.
Lets face it… times are tough right now. People are losing their jobs and struggling to make ends meet.
If you’ve been thinking about starting a home based business, it needs to be something fun and easy to start.
The good news is, I can show you how to get a nice extra part-time income by turning your passion into profits and working right from your garage…
Here it is: You DON’T need to be a professional woodworker or own a huge workshop with expensive machinery to succeed!
All you need to know is the “what”, the “who” and the “where”…
It’s really that simple and I’ll explain it in a while…but first,
And if you’re like me and you’d prefer to leave risk taking to skydivers and Wall Street goons, then you’re in good company.
Because, starting a profitable woodworking business is not as risky or difficult as you think. Now…
If you want an easy-to-start business that does NOT require you to fork out an arm and a leg for expensive machinery or tools.
If you want a business that allows you to work from home and gives you more quality time with your family.
If you want something that you can do in your spare time that does not interfere with your regular job.
If you want a business that you can grow and become a full time thing (if you chose to do so).
If you want an opportunity that would provide a lot of income, quickly and easily with the skills you already have…
Then listen up closely as this is the most important letter you’ll ever read…
But before I continue, it is important that I share with you a bit of my story.  You’ll understand why in a minute…
My wife thought I was crazy then.
Back then in June 1994, I was jobless, out of income and struggling with my finances. I had 2 kids to feed and was at my wits end.
I knew I had to do something…
So I started my woodworking business with almost no capital, a few shop tools, and lots of nerve in a 10 foot by 20 foot space but I grew it into a 1400 foot space as a one-person business within the first year.
The kicker is, I was NO “expert” woodworker; far from it.
My humble 10×20 feet workshop when I started in June 1994
In fact, I do not even own a huge garage!
Really, the hardest part was understanding how to turn a hobby into a real business that made money.
Here’s the thing… having no one to help me get started, I made costly mistakes and learned enough from them to make my entire living from woodworking for more than 25 years.
But that was 25 years ago…
And I’ve helped thousands of woodworkers do the same
Now, keep in mind that you will have the advantage over me when I started. I had to figure everything out all on my own and I did make a few mistakes my first year in business.
You don’t have to suffer through the painful mistakes I’ve made because I will show you how YOU can avoid them and start a profitable woodworking business from Day 1.
You see, I’ve helped hundreds of woodworkers start and run a profitable woodworking business from home and I can help you too.
Get ready to start a profitable business in the comfort of your own home , with all the plans and resources you need…
How To Start & Run A Successful Woodworking Business From Home
I’ve put together a great guide from my years of experience that shows you everything I know about starting, running and growing a great woodworking business out of your home.
The guide is instantly downloadable (very easy with full instructions) and I even send an accompanying MP3 audio transcription + CD so you can listen to it in your car on your way to work if you prefer.
Whatever your aspirations, be they simply to sell your own home-made projects from home or to establish a profitable all-year-round woodworking business, this system will show you how…
Here is what is in store for you:
Get A VERY detailed guide that shows you step-by-step how to make money selling wooden furniture, small crafts and other wood projects (there’s no waiting around; you’ll be making money fast)
Learn “little known” marketing methods – getting the word out beyond word-of-mouth even if you live in a rural area (most woodworkers struggle with getting interested buyers)
Discover a powerful truth about attracting customers (hint: this is how you make your business almost immediately profitable…)
The exact words you should use to sell your products that increases sales…  (learn to close the sale without coming off as pushy or desperate)
Get a list of high-margin, easy to sell, profitable niche crafts you can build using BASIC woodworking tools! (and best of all, you can produce them in batches)
Discover the type of furniture to built which has the best markup (get analysis of the best pieces to make for maximum ROI)
The “Craft Secret”: If you know it, you could build anything and people would still pay you premium prices…
How to tap into a unique (very unique) high profit niche… most retailers (even the largest ones)… don’t even know about!
The top 10 profitable crafts to sell. Don’t waste your time figuring it out. I will show you the top-selling products I personally sell.
Why you need to understand the “Porcupine Theory” that lets you find customers who are “in heat” for your product… right now! (and you’ll get this base group of customers fast!)
How to tap into the “cycles” of frenzied buying most markets go through!  (Even a hot market can fail if the market has temporarily gone cold.)
Twelve words that will literally “force” people who have bought from you once… to buy from you again… IMMEDIATELY! (Get multiple repeat buyers who buy from you over and over again – which makes your business infinitely easier!)
How to get hundreds of glowing (and true) testimonials from your customers for free… and what to do with them to generate even bigger profits!
A secret method (developed by one of the biggest retailers) to deal with complaints… and… turn them into additional sales!
How, if you already have a business, to dramatically increase your bottom-line profits… immediately!  (Discover how to “wipe-out” your competition… and suck so much more money out of your current and past customers, that your new nickname will be “Hoover”)
Discover where to buy your tools and materials at discounts (this tip alone can save you thousands of dollars over the course of your woodworking career)
Get unlimited one-on-one email coaching with Jim. Be guided every step of the way from day 1 to your very first sale!
Cool tips – as your woodworking skills progress (assuming you aren’t already an expert) you’ll use these tips to produce your projects even faster, without any loss of quality on the finished product!
How to build a dominating online presence and get targeted web users desperate to purchase your items. (learn how to build a site easily within a day even if you’ve no “techie” skills and get web visitors who are actually interested to buy your stuff)
I’ll reveal to you a “secret” website with millions of users actively looking to buy custom woodwork. (And no, its not eBay or Craigslist. Many of my readers have gone on to start successful businesses there)
You’ll get REAL-LIFE case studies of successful woodworking business owners making 4-5 figures every month. You’ll get a detailed breakdown and see exactly what they are selling, the amount of sales and who their top customers are.
You’re gonna discover what are the top-selling projects right now at this moment… So you’ll know what projects you can build for quick sales! (Know exactly WHAT to sell and HOW much to price it)
This is months and months of hard research handed to you on a silver platter! You can simply emulate their business, get inspiration for projects or ideas for new niches
And thats just for starters…
Once you get comfortable and start making great money, I’ll even show you how to take your business to the NEXT level (you can grow this business as big or as small as you like – it’s your choice).
The “proper” way to contract out some (or all) of the work that won’t reduce quality of your work. Imagine making predictable monthly income while somebody else does the work.
You’ll discover how to squeeze your suppliers ethically to get pricing that even the big boys don’t enjoy.
You’ll get professional advice on licensing and taxes by legal experts. (This is the boring stuff you need to know)
How to increase your chances to get commercial contracts to scale up your business. (this is where you get HUGE profits)
The “smart way” to market your services and products online without spending a fortune (many woodworkers are struggling with online websites and getting anyone to even visit)
How to get into top tradeshows and craft fairs (Discover which are the best locations for your store so you’ll get constant visitors)
Discover a hidden goldmine in a lucrative category – this is something that nobody else is talking about!
Whew!  Great stuff, wouldn’t you agree?
In fact, if you are in any aspect of business… and… you are operating without this unique, insider information… you are not making the money you could be making.
But because I’ve already made the mistakes, you don’t have to – just follow this guide, and you’ll be years ahead of the curve!
I call this a Home Based “Business In A Box” System because it gives you all the information, tools and plans needed to succeed!
You don’t need to be an expert woodworker (or have a large shop) to start this business. The projects that sell fast and can make you money over and over are simple to build… and they only need a modest shop.
Even if you have no prior experience, with this guide and a willingness to learn, you could soon be enjoying a profitable and enormously satisfying career (or part-time job) doing something you love.
Just don’t take my word for it.

So even though hundreds of woodworkers just like you have started successful home businesses with WoodProfits… you may be wondering if this is right for you.
Well, I’m going to be honest with you – there are just some people who shouldn’t waste their time with this guide.
And, really, I’d rather be up-front about it, because those people end up wasting my time too.
So let me tell you right now that this is NOT the guide for you if:
Praise for “WoodProfits”
“A must-have for those just starting out in their business.
It’s obvious Jim did extensive research. It is extremely detailed, in-depth, and chock full of resources; yet, the writing style flows and is easy to read.”
“The only book you’ll need”
“If you want to read just one book about starting a woodworking business, this would be the one.
I read a different book first and had more questions than answers. This book finally answered all of my questions, including many I didn’t even know I had.”
“An excellent resource”
“I recently bought a copy and found it to be an excellent resource. In my opinion, it’s the definitive book for anyone thinking about starting a woodworking business”
Fair enough. Now that we’ve weeded out the “riff raff,” so to speak…
You’re still here, so that tells me right away that this is a PERFECT fit for you.
But let’s be a bit more specific – WoodProfits is ideal for you if ANY of the following apply:
You’re a woodworker of any experience or skill level who is passionate about the craft. This isn’t just for 25-year veteran woodworkers like me – no matter whether you’ve just created your first piece or you’ve been creating signature pieces for decades, you’ll find a wealth of wisdom to take your business to the next level! (Oh, and it doesn’t matter what types of items you create, either – from wood jewelry to custom furniture, this guide covers it all!
You’re looking for some part-time or retirement income. Some of the most talented woodworkers I’ve ever met have stayed broke and undiscovered because of some deep-seated belief that they lack the skills to run a business. If that’s you, then you’re in luck – you can LEARN everything you need to know (and do it pretty quickly, too). It’s time to cart that belief out to the trash from trackrgadget https://bestessayseller.co.uk/woodprofits-how-to-start-a-profitable-woodworking-business-from-home-with-no-capital-in-7-days-or-less/ https://bestessayseller.co.uk/woodprofits-how-to-start-a-profitable-woodworking-business-from-home-with-no-capital-in-7-days-or-less/

How To Know Which King of Thieves Hack Are The Best
The world of King of Thieves Hack has evolved into a realistic, completely believable virtual playing field! You can be the hero of the ninth inning, bases loaded tie game or rescue the beautiful princess from that evil warlord! Or, you could learn something new and valuable. Whatever your intent with video games, the following article will teach you a thing or two.
Patience can be your best friend when it comes to buying video games. Although most big-name games get released with premium price tags, their costs will fall rapidly with time. Waiting a few months can score you big savings. As an added bonus, you can often pick up better versions (including expansion pack content) if you hold off a little while.
Stay at home and save money by playing video games with your friends. Many people use these games as a form of entertainment. Most games nowadays are available to play online with others. You can also chat with your friends while playing. Cut back on expenses by staying home and playing games.
Parents should take the time to look in the King of Thieves Hacks console's settings for parental controls. Consoles will have these controls within their setting's menus. These can allow you to control games by ESRB rating, the amount of time on the system and limit online access. With these controls set, your child can play games more safely.
Play video games and get into shape. Many new video games are played by using actual movement of your body. If you are interested in getting into better shape, research the new video games that can help you do that. Then, pop in a game and get moving and become healthier.
If you want to be involved in your kids gaming activities, you need to spend some time playing the game yourself. Test the games for yourself. Watch your kids play them and even join in the fun. Ask questions and be interested in what they are doing with their time. Hands-on experience is always the best way to learn and enjoy.
Stretching is essential. Just like with any repetitive action, prolonged gaming can lead to sore hands and, in extreme cases, carpel tunnel syndrome. To maximize your gaming stamina, stretch your hands frequently. Start with a few basic stretches before you sit down to King of Thieves Cheats and remember to take breaks to stretch out your fingers during your game.
Do not let a child play a game without checking its rating beforehand. Some games contain a great deal of violence and are rated for adults. Letting children play those videos games is a bad idea. Games that are violent may make children behave differently or give them nightmares.
If you are having trouble finding older PC games, or even running them on current operating systems, try searching for online stores that offer downloadable titles. Stores such as Steam or GoG offer a wide range of older PC games that have been patched and updated to run on modern Windows and Mac's operating systems. These games in these stores are priced at a fraction of their original cost, making them an affordable gaming option.
Consider buying second hand video games instead of new video games. Video games can be very expensive to buy new. Therefore, if you are operating on a limited budget, you may want to consider buying your video games second hand. There are many places where you can buy second hand video games, including eBay and local car boot sales.
If you want to find cheap King of Thieves Hack Gems for kids, always look for liquidation sales. Many video rental establishments are having trouble thriving in the age of digital media. If you're paying attention, you may find one nearby and get some great video game deals. In general, the discs are usually in good condition, although you may have to clean them.
If your child needs an extra boost at school in a certain subject, look for video games that have an educational focus on that subject. Children learn best when they are having fun. Playing these games every now and then may be able to reinforce a subject in which they need extra help.
If you are purchasing a game as a gift, look at the back of the package and read what it says. Particularly, if the game is for a child, look for anything that you think could indicate questionable material. There should also be a few pictures that give you some idea of what you are getting as well.
To help keep your child safe while playing video games, find out about the multiplayer options of the King of Thieves Gem Hack they are playing. Set age appropriate limits to gaming interactions with others online. Some games have parental control options that you can use to determine the kind of interaction your child will have with strangers.
If you're tired of your old games and wish to sell them, you should try having a garage sale. Be sure you advertise to help you get more customers. While you will probably sell them for lower prices, you may get a bunch of interested people that would love to give your old games a new home.
When buying games online, do not buy from unknown sources. You really have no idea what you are putting in your system. Never purchase or download games from a TOR site. You are risking turning your gaming console into a brick. They could contain malicious code that will compromise your system.
As a parent, your best source for information about the video games your kids are playing is talking to your children themselves. Don't put too much faith in reports from media watchdogs; they often have agendas of their own. Let your kids tell you what they find fun and important in their games and make your own decision about whether or not it's appropriate for them.
Video gaming can literally take you out of this world and into a completely different place where chivalry rules the day, or a nuclear melt down has morphed all of humanity into zombies! Or maybe you want to King of Thieves Mod Apk to up your GPA by a few points! Hopefully this article has increased your knowledge and benefits your next game.

“I GOTS DA GIFT!”: Marty McFly & DeLorean Funko Pop!
Obtained: Christmas 2014 Photos Posted On: Dec. 1, 2015
So this is the only Pop that I’ve got that came with another object, and I really liked it. I’d seen it on Hot Topic’s website and quickly noticed it cost somewhere like $23? or $25? Something like that. And again, at this time, I still wasn’t crazy about Funko Pops. But, I am a big Back to the Future fan. It’s definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. And I know, I know, there’s three of them. But I’ll group ‘em in all together as “a movie,” just for the sake of ranking favorite movies. Because frankly, my top favorite movies seem to be a line of movies with sequels. And I can’t really choose one over the other, because they all really stand well together (except, admittedly, I think Back to the Future III was meh). So, Inception’s my favorite movie of all time at this point, but some movies following that in no particular order are the Back to the Future movies, The Matrix movies, the Ocean’s trilogy, and more.
Tangent again, but whatevs. So, I saw it on Hot Topic’s site, and I wasn’t that crazy for Funko Pops yet. So seeing a price tag of $23-25 for a toy? Didn’t make sense to me. So I passed. But anytime I’d be on a computer, I’d often find myself going back to HotTopic.com just to look at it, LMAO. And by now, I’ve come to realize, if I find myself re-checking some sort of product, it’s a sure sign I do want it, and if I can, I should probs get it. But I didn’t think like that at the time, so I’d online-window-shop it and then get back to my regular routine. But Christmas was nearing, and from my last funko blog post, you’d know I just bought a Frieza Pop to gift to my brother. Well, so, for Christmas, or any gift-giving occasion, my brother’s straight to the point and doesn’t like to play guessing games, and this is one of the things I like about him: he asks you straight up what you want. LMAO. I love it because for Christmas, my brother and sister are both like Santa Claus in a way. My sister really plays into it though. She literally comes over with SACKS of gifts. Multiple gifts. Not cheap little stocking stuffers. She buys multiple nice gifts and puts them in a sack, for each person. Thing is though, if I’m being honest, she often does get things she thinks may be cool or useful, but actually might not be. Again, it’s the thought that counts… But in that way, she’s like Santa Claus. My brother though, although he doesn’t gift with multiple items or huge sacks, he’ll accept lists from me, LOL. I’ll give him a list of things I want and he might get me one or two of them. But at least it’s a guarantee of what I actually want! So that’s always been cool. Oh, and when I said he doesn’t sack his gifts, I forgot to clarify that he doesn’t do anything to wrap or conceal them either. He just gives it to you straight in the store bag he bought it from, LOL. But whatevs, I gots da gift! Oh, and another thing; my sister, although it’s nice she sacks up a bunch of gifts, for a few years I’d send my Christmas list to my closest family members, to sort of make it easy for them like my brother; you know, take the guess work out of it. I’d try to be as polite as possible though, because it does feel strange to ASK for gifts, but I mean, if we’re being real, if we know the gifts are coming, wouldn’t we not want our money to go to waste and get something the other person may not even like? I’m all for playing it safe and being sure they’ll want and like the gift. But my sister made it clear she doesn’t like that I send out a list, and that it’s not my Birthday (ie: I shouldn’t get to choose). I get it. So she blatantly ignores my lists and gets me what she thinks I’ll like. And well, let’s just say that my closet can only fit so much…
;-)
Another tangent. Weeeee! LOL. My bad. It ties in though. Read on, reader.
So anyway, Christmas was nearing and my brother asked for a list from me. I forget exactly what was on that list now… I vaguely recall some weight-lifting related item… maybe that was at the top of my list. I think it was some weight lifting gloves. Not sure though. There were some other stuff too, but I know the Marty McFly Funko Pop was included. And well, voila! My brother gifted me the Marty McFly Funko Pop!! From…??
(This is where you guess)
(Keep guessing)
(This isn’t where I do one of those annoying things people do in conversations and go, “Guess what? *they answer it without actually allowing you a chance to guess*)
(I’m actually gonna allow you a chance to guess)
(Okay, time’s up, over… blaow! snap back to… the future… – see what I did there? ;-)
(Major brownie points to whoever got those references)
(Yes, there were two references in that one line)
(BTW, screw brownie points. Like sorry brownies, imma let you finish, but Krispy Kreme donuts are the best sweets in the world)
(Cinnabons are close behind though, without a doubt)
HOT TOPIC! DOT COM! Yep, he ordered it from their site (I told him where he could get each gift, should he get them). But I knew he got it from HotTopic.com because, as usual, he did nothing to conceal it. He gave it to me inside the shipping box with invoice slip and all, LMAO. Oh!!! It’s coming back to me. He got me this pop, but also did get me weight lifting gloves! Sports Chalet!! But, he got the wrong size, and they didn’t have my size in stock, so he ended up just returning them, but that was totally fine. So yep, Christmas of 2014, we ended up exchanging Funko Pops, basically. LOL. I got him a Frieza and he got me a Marty McFly with his DeLorean. I ended up placing this awesome little dude and his whip on my TV counter with the other pops I had, right on top of the cable box. Soon, I’d move it over to the corner of my desk. It’s currently on the top of my Funko shelf case that I’ll most likely post online at some point. I’ve posted pics of it online at various moments, but the line-up always changes. :-)
So yeah, I was super stoked to get this Pop. Although I wasn’t crazy over Funko Pops quite yet, I’d been kinda side-eyeing them. In a curious way. One of the things that helped was that my co-worker Kasey displayed some out-of-box Funko Pops on his desk, one of which was his Deadpool Pop. Just seeing it at his desk every day kinda had me intrigued to their cute little designs. And so, any time I’d walk past a Hot Topic, I’d just look at the Pops, but not necessarily feel a desire to buy one. But every time I’d see the Marty McFly Pop on Hot Topic’s site, I always thought about how cool of an out-of-box Funko Pop it would be to have, since it was with the freaking DeLorean!!
I just love the Back to the Future movies. The 2nd one is my favorite because of its futuristic elements. I loved the futuristic ideas they had; the self-lacing shoes, the hoverboard, the self-drying jacket, their fashion. I dunno, I dug it. It’s also pretty cool how some of those things are being attempted to be produced today. I’m kinda iffy on it because of how its being done. I mean first off, the self-tying shoes, Nike came out with some a few years ago. Except I heard they weren’t even self-lacing, they were just replicas. Meaning, they were just designed/modeled after the movie’s shoes. But it was still cool; they looked fresh. But, they were super limited and were only being sold on eBay, I think. But they sold for super insane amounts of money. So that wasn’t realistic to get. Then they made another attempt at it like last year in 2016, but I didn’t follow through with the news on it. Also like super limited/unattainable/crazy-expensive, so I didn’t care for it again. But then they were making another actual self-lacing shoe that was more affordable, but this thing looked ugly. Looked like a Skecher shoe with a nike swoosh on it. No offense to Skecher wearers. :-) And secondly, like seriously, hoverboards. We’ve got “hoverboards” today. I’m not sure why we call it that when they’re just segways without handlebars, which may or may not explode. *shrugs*
But anyway, yeah, I love the Back to the Future films, 3rd was meh, and 2nd was my fav. I forgot how I ever got introduced to the films. I think my dad introduced me to the movies… maybe he rented them on VHS? or perhaps we caught them on TV? I’m leaning towards VHS though. But anyway, I loved them so much that in my late high school years, or maybe even early college years, I’m not quite sure… but around that time, when I had some money of my own, I bought the trilogy on DVD. This is big for me, because I don’t like buying movies on DVD. I don’t like rewatching movies. It’s too much time to dedicate to watch something I’ve already seen and already know what’s gonna happen. And to pay to re-do something? Not my ideal spend of money. But, when it's a film I really enjoy? I’ll shell out some cash for it :-) So I got myself the trilogy and rewatched it in all of its glory. I remember back in the day too that my best friend at the time, Jason, would catch one of the movies on TV. We’d be on the phone together, and I’d put on my DVD and ask him where he’s at in the film, and I’d fast forward to that part and it’d be like we were watching together. Fun times. But now, I can’t actually find my trilogy of DVDs :’( (nor can I find Jason, LMAO, but that’s a whole other topic). If only this Funko Pop DeLorean could bring me back in time………. LOL, I was gonna make some cheesy joke about going back in time to find that DVD trilogy… But how much of a waste would that be? Imagine? Using some time travel machine just to find an old DVD set I had, when things like Biff as President and stupidvisors exist? Yeah, real smart use of time travel, Ry. :p
So as for the Funko photos themselves… The first photo with the newspaper was a photo I was stoked to take a pic of. Just archiving the fact I have these two things, is enough to encapsulate my fandom for the movie. I love the fact that USA Today came out with their own Back to the Future themed paper on the date that Marty travelled to the future. For one thing, that was massively creative, and perhaps took a lot of patience on USA Today’s part. Like, I wonder when they thought up to do this, and how long the company’s been waiting to publish it, LOL. And also, it finally put an end (?) to all those ridiculous memes that would pretend “oh, this is the day and year that Marty travelled into the future!” Like nope, nice try, clickbait. No really, nice try. A bunch of “fans” fell for it. But it was easy to tell when they were fake memes. The original Back to the Future setting takes place in 1985. That’s the starting point. Marty basically travels 30 years in either direction. Don’t @ me about the 3rd movie when he goes into the ol’ west, because I don’t care about that, and I’m like 95% certain 1985 is still a good reference point, because he probably ended up going back to 1885. So back to the meme. If he is only going 30 years in either direction, that means 2015 was the year of his travel into the future. BOOM. Case Closed. (Love that anime.) So the newspaper though, I wasn’t able to snag it the morning it came out for like a number of cents… or whatever newspapers cost these days. I had to order it online from USA Today’s website for like $4 D,: LOL.
The second photo was just a standard pic to take in Marty and his whip, LOL. I love Funko’s mold of the DeLorean. It’s done perfectly, IMO. Just the right percentage of a used and dated look to it, but not overly raggy, which captures the essence the ride always had in the movies :’). Also, I love the irony of the car itself. It looks like a cheap hunk of metal. Like not high-class or sophisticated looking. But its function is quite the opposite and performs an action of only the highest of class and sophistication! The third pic, well, I was hoping to just snap a shot of Marty and the DeLorean in front of the DVD box I had… But alas, it was lost somewhere… in the past… so instead I grabbed some Calvin Klein tag laying around and just snuck it in as an Easter egg treat for any of those who really dig Back to the Future :-) And if you don’t know the reference, you’re not finding it here. Go watch the movie(s)!

Super Late SHINee In LA Stuff (that I need to get out of my system)
thoughtspam and unleashing of feelings that i’ve clearly been bottling up and wrestling with
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I LOVE SHINEE
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I REALLY LOVE JONGHYUN
LIKE THAT BOY TOOK MY BREATH AWAY MULTIPLE TIMES
LIKE I WAS TRYING TO SING AND JAM WITH MY LIGHT STICK BUT THEN THE CAMERA WOULD DO A CLOSE-UP OF HIM AND I WOULD STOP BREATHING FOR A SEC AND THEN HAVE TO DO A BIG INHALE
like i’ve never gotten anywhere remotely close to being in love with someone but he’s the biggest celebrity crush i’ve ever had and that’s probably the closest i’ve ever gotten to love (the very sad life of an anxious potato lmao)
FUCKING CHOI MINHO
LIKE WOW I LOVE HIM
SAVIOR IS LIT AS FUCK
SO IS READY OR NOT
I DON’T EVEN THINK I WAS EXPECTING TO JAM HELLA HARD WITH SHINEE BUT THEY DID THAT! THE WHOLE AUDITORIUM DID THAT!
idk maybe i haven’t listened to savior enough (time to remedy that) but somehow i did not realize that it was such a fuxking bop
aw they were so fricking cute spinning and playing around during ready or not
lmao i didn’t jump even though shinee told me to...i’m too boobilicious and jiggly to be about that jumping life
i can’t believe that i just wrote that asdfghjkl
i let the girl on my left borrow my shinee world iv light stick which i had taped up just before the concert started because it had broken at kcon before i got the chance to even properly use it. i taped it up to stay permanently on.
i think the cap at the tip came off sometime during the show
i had the shinee world v light stick i bought off of ebay
dude i should have tried to buy a bunch of them off ebay and sell them the day of the show (here’s where the stupid theme of regret begins)
anyway back to my assorted thoughts and observations
freaking choi minho dude
like i think he only spoke english to the crowd and holy crap he’s really good and i love that he worked it even in a language that’s not native to him and he’s so freaking cute
i’m sure the other members looked up at the balcony too but the only one that i really caught was minho. i don’t remember when (like during an earlier ment or the last one or even a slow song)
but holy crap his eyes were so soft and he looked like he was really taking in the balcony view instead of just the floor level and he looked so happy and thankful
shit shinee is really really funny
like highlights:
taemin trying to copy something he’s heard key say before (asking the crowd if they’re having fun tonight) and getting so embarrassed before that he turned around to face away from the audience and after finally asking us and turning back to face us, he was hiding in his red hood
key and minho!: minho talking about the clippers and key dismissing him and asking about food (lmao key and i are one and the same), key trying to sing from La La Land (which i haven’t seen) and minho asking him if he was okay, Minho whipping out the dab and it turning into La La Land poster posing, minho and his freaking $300 clippers jersey (shhh it’s secret lmao) which he supposedly held up to the crowd when they exited after the show LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, talking about the Power Rangers and how there’s five of them but they’re the SHINee Five
Like damn I really appreciate Key. And I know the members were looking to him to help address the audience.
EDIT: THE JONGTAE HUG! THE JONGTAE HUG! LOOK IT UP BRUH! like jonghyun threw something like paper at taemin and like immediately scooped him into a hug after hitting him
FEEL GOOD FUCKING FEEL GOOD
IT’S HONESTLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE FRICKING SHINEE SONGS (EVEN THOUGH THEY LIKE ALL ARE BUT I REALLY LOVE IT)
AND HOLY SHIRT IT WAS SO GOOD
COLORFUL LIGHTS, SHINEE STANDING IN A SMOKEY MIST, GORGEOUS VOICE AND MOVES
LIKE I WAS LEGIT BOUNCING IN MY SEAT AND DOING THE DANCING HAND MOVEMENTS JUST BEFORE THE CHORUS
I NEED TO START COMPILING LIKE ALL THE FANCAMS FOR IT FROM THE TOUR OR SOMETHING
also i have zero fancams for once. i never got an answer from subk after aeg sent an email saying cameras were allowed but subk said they weren’t in their FAQ so maybe it was an SM thing. but anyways i was in the balcony so the screen and shinee got super washed out so it wasn’t worth focus on filming instead of them for extra blah footage. but a lot of people around me where filming on phones and someone might have been livestreaming? lmao if they were hoping you couldn’t hear my screeches (also dang where they getting good footage? what type of phone do they have??? lol lol lol)
Prism butt rolls! especially from key! you know i screamed!
dude singing replay with them was so nice and Onew looked so proud and like happy at the MVP part cuz we were singing along and especially cheered at that iconic line
taemin’s solo!!! Get it boy!!! and then his next outfit was the freaking red hoodie that wasn’t zipped all the way up (like i see you bro. i see you.)
beautiful space background for beautiful jongyu duet. breathtaking vocals. long gazes from them at the end. wow.
before they sang Selene 6.23, I think key was the one to introduce it and told us to sing along if we knew the words and told us that jonghyun wrote it, giving him a little shout out and jonghyun freaking giggled
awwwwwwww jonghyun asking to see the 1of1 fan project again when they stopped performing
onew (or key?) talking about coming to LA more or something like that and (definitely onew) saying it was only a 13 hour flight
not all the fan projects went 100% smooth like the time that we were instructed to show the other side of the 1of1 banner for jonghyun’s birthday project, the curtain was literally going on down and idk if jjong noticed it but key did. and he was ducking to say goodbye to us when he said “oh right. it’s your birthday soon” which means he noticed the banners and also lmao i think that was the last thing we heard them say
jonghyun in his ending ment talking about how people were apparently blowing kisses so he was imitating them and sent loud MWAH kisses to the crowd (this kills the man)
it was so CUTE
like UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
JESUS CHRIST HE’S REALLY BEAUTIFUL
LIKE REALLY BEAUTIFUL
THEY ALL ARE TBH
they say that they’ll come back to LA soon and I freaking hope so!
like pls pls pls pls.
i know in a couple of years their futures together might shift and change.
plus also i’ve been really beating myself up because I was like I should have gone closer to the stage instead of in the balcony but tbh i spent the amount I was comfortable with and made sure to buy a ticket from day 1 because i didn’t want to miss this and i could not predict that later on the more expensive tickets would be selling under face value on stubhub (and by people on twitter and stuff but i wouldn’t really trust that method of selling)
idk about the pricing for this tour either, like if it was maybe more expensive (for whatever reason like venue, production costs etc. and also there are more members so maybe that factors into it to???) but back in 2013 the TVXQ tickets i had that were like 30 rows in at the (now) microsoft theater were about $90 with fees and the comparable seating areas were more than double that for this tour
anyway i’ve been letting the whole i-wasn’t-that-close to-the-front-and-center thing bother me a lot these past couple of days and color my experiences in a negative light which is absolutely freaking ridiculous
I got the chance to see my favorite group live in a full concert close to home and I know that I had so much fun like singing and screaming and waving my light stick and bouncing in my seat and laughing and everything and I’m grateful. Not everyone that wanted to catch SHINee on tour had the opportunity to do so and it was just a great experience being in the room no matter what and I could feel all the love and good energy going around, with SHINee putting on a great show for their fans across the world from where most of the action happens and all of us in the audience there to support SHINee and send all the love we have for them right back at them and not just through our computer and phone screens. I know that they had a good time and appreciated us and I know I had a good time and love and appreciate them so much like every damn day. maybe i wasn’t like right up in the front catching their eye but i was freaking there having a grand ol’ time. and i’ll always remember it. Like I always randomly think back to concerts I’ve been too and I was laughing so much looking back at my TVXQ fan accounts earlier and I have a folder of TVXQ in LA stuff actually lmao so I’ll probably try to make a SHINee one too. Like hell there are fancams and stuff of SHINee I can catch to help take me back even more and I appreciate that the internet and the k-pop community allows us to transport ourselves to different places and performances and times through the snapshots and videos we share.
anyway i feel a lot better writing all of this out. and i got to make sure that i saved some more of my shinee memories. like holy shit i got the chance to see them 3 times in a year??? like from the first time seeing them live to a full concert experience in less than a year. damnnnnnnn.
tl;dr SHINEE WORLD V IN LA WAS FREAKING AWESOME AND YUP, SHINEE FUCKING DID THAT

Even if you don’t love to cook, it’s definitely a good skill to have because cooking and eating at home is way cheaper than going out to eat.
I’ve kind of touched on this before, but almost anything on this list can actually be turned into some kind of a money-making business or money-making side hustle.
After exercising your body in the fresh air, here are the best fun inexpensive hobbies that only require brain power.
27. Writing
Writing can be a fun hobby and it doesn’t have to turn into more than that. You can write in a diary, write short stories for fun, or write even write to make money like I mentioned earlier. If you love writing and actually want to get paid for it, there’s currently a shortage of freelance writers. If this interests you, check out this post on getting paid to be a freelance writer.
28. Drawing
A pencil and paper is all you need to get started with this frugal hobby. Even if you expand your artist supplies later on, this hobby shouldn’t be too costly.
29. Learn a New Language
Is there a language you’ve been dying to learn? There are lots of resources online and books at your library that you can use to learn a new language.
30. Learn to Play an Instrument
Learning to play a musical instrument doesn’t mean you have to take expensive lessons. Many instruments can be self-taught, especially now that you can learn almost everything you need to know on YouTube.
31. Learn to Sew
Learning basic sewing skills is a good idea. Knowing how to sew has actually saved me money. For example, my sewing skills have helped me save my clothes from being thrown in the rag bin a few times when they only needed minor repairs.
32. Learn a New Game
Playing games is one of my family’s favorite hobbies, especially is the weather is crappy outside. We don’t discriminate, we like to play board games and card games. They can also be a good way to meet new people if you go to community game nights. You might be able to find some at your local library, churches, or on meetup.com.
36. Dance
I’m not talking about paying money and going to a dance studio – those things can be very expensive. Instead I’m talking about turning on your favorite music and using it to make up your own workout routine.
37. Swimming
If you live near a public beach, lake, etc. you can probably swim there for free. Swimming is a great cardiovascular exercise and it’s fun!
38. Join a Club Sports Team
Most communities have a Recreation Department that hosts sports leagues for kids and adults. They’re usually fairly inexpensive to join and offer lots of different sports to choose from.
39. Try Yoga
There are lots of free yoga video on YouTube. All you need to get started is a mat.
40. Practice Meditation
Exercise for your brain.
Skilled Hobbies
Lastly, it’s time to apply your skills to your hobby list. From cooking, to home-brewing, and even woodworking, we have you covered with this last bunch of fun inexpensive hobbies.
41. Canning and Food Preservation
This old-fashioned skill can actually help you save money, especially if you are preserving food from your garden bounty to eat later on.
42. Furniture Restoration
I know several people who’ve taken up furniture restoration as a frugal hobby and they’ve also managed to furnish their homes with one-of-a-kind pieces they re-did themselves. You can also sell your restored furniture as a great side hustle hobby!
44. Animal Husbandry
Growing up we raised many different kinds of animals on my parents’ farm. I still love animals and taking care of them today and it’s definitely a good skill to have.
45. Carpentry
Even if you don’t learn how to make fancy things, basic carpentry skills can be good to have as they can save you money when you know how to fix things around the house.

Even if you don’t love to cook, it’s definitely a good skill to have because cooking and eating at home is way cheaper than going out to eat.

16. Volunteering
That’s kind of financial since time is money, right? Give some of your time to your favorite charities, or join a group or board in your town to give back to civic organizations.
17. Start a Business
I’ve kind of touched on this before, but almost anything on this list can actually be turned into some kind of a money-making business or money-making side hustle.
