A New Breed: Fotiadis Design's 115m Stormbreaker Concept
A New Breed: Fotiadis Design's 115m Stormbreaker Concept
In the age of abundant choice, it is increasingly difficult for a superyacht concept to stand apart from its visionary competitors. The latest concept to come from up-and-coming Berlin design studio Fotiadis Design achieves just this. Pitched as an ‘explorer for the modern day tycoon’ the 115m Stormbreaker is equipped with cutting-edge technology, a groundbreaking aesthetic and exhilarating performance capabilities to make for the ultimate luxury explorer.
Available for sale with SuperyachtsMonaco, Stormbreaker’s design concept draws on the two traditionally opposing requirements of exploration and connectivity. Blending a rugged expedition-style profile with avant-garde use of glass, Stormbreaker is at home in any seas. True to her name, Stormbreaker is equipped for adventure in the most adverse of conditions, while the latest onboard technology ensures her owner enjoys ultimate connectivity no matter where in the world they are.
Just a few of the remarkable features onboard Stormbreaker include a Panoramic 360 imaging system to record and broadcast, an interactive infotainment system and ‘Best In Class’ performance from CAT Audio. Her cutting-edge communication system provides high levels of internet bandwidth even in the most remote locations in the world. Designer Theodoros Fotiadis explains that this is an intentional implementation in line with the requirements of the modern-day entrepreneur off-shore, and indeed the shifting setting of the workplace in the new world.
“This yacht is for people who enjoy going off the grid and experiencing something unique every time they are on board. A very different muse to more traditional cruising. There is plenty of scope to be creative with exterior styling and layout, as long as technical requirements and propulsion elements, in this case Diesel-Electric, are fully integrated from the outset,” comments Fotiadis.
Jim Evans, Founder of SuperyachtsMonaco, adds, “Stormbreaker is the next level of go-anywhere explorer, the concept incorporates all the elements that thrill and solace-seeking clients look for, a tough exterior, attention-grabbing design, a bottomless toy chest, efficient propulsion, long range capability and the highest level of connectivity.”
Stormbreaker’s appeal goes far beyond her rugged and contemporary exterior however. Her interior layout has been designed to include a huge tender garage, as well as a luxurious beach-club, spa-gym complex, cigar lounge, observation deck, swimming pool, art gallery and library. Topped with a fantastic observation deck and vast, pristinely styled interior spaces for entertainment and dining, Stormbreaker is a true roaming palace. For an owner looking to own something truly exceptional and unique, the design concept is also available to build at 90m.

Triaxial T. Fotiadis SLT Range Rover: a super pickup for owners of super-yachts
We must pay tribute to the Mercedes marketers: three-axle monster Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6 has become a hit in a point. Not only that, pricey cars, quickly sold to customers, such Gelika there were still many followers. However, until now nobody has done the six-wheeled pickup and a Range Rover. But this gap will soon be filled: the alteration took firm T. Fotiadis Design from Berlin.
In General, the ethnic Greek company of Theodoros of Fotiadis in working with cars before were not seen. This design Studio deals with the development of a huge yacht (over a length of 100 m) and interiors of luxurious mansions. However, Theodoros wondered how the unfortunate owners of the super yacht to move about on land when the ship moored to the pier. Call the limo? Or some standard Rolls-Royce or Maybach? But are they, as a rule, the company, and the Luggage you want to carry a lot. Therefore, as accessory to the Marina, Fotiadis decided to offer a luxury pickup.
The complete machine — T. Fotiadis Range Rover 6×6 SLT where SLT abbreviation stands for Superyacht Tender Land, i.e. “land boat for superyachts”. The basis is dlinnobaznaya SUV Range Rover L, which added a third axle and behind the passenger cabin-equipped cargo Bay. The total length of the machine reaches 6.2 m, although the width and height close to standard.
It is assumed that “boat” can be equipped with diesel “eight” 4.4 (339 HP), compressor engine V8 5.0 (525-565 HP) or even a hybrid setup with a two-liter turboservice (the total output of 404 HP). The richness of interior decoration is limited only by the imagination of the customer: from the materials, alternatively, proposed porcelain, crystal and a “liquid metal”. Of course, the price of this car will have a top strap, because the owners of 100-foot yachts possess a minimum of multibillion-dollar States.
Firm T. Fotiadis was going to show the car in the flesh as early as last February, but apparently the task proved harder than it seemed initially. Now place debut named the yacht show in Monaco, which will be held in September this year. And acceptance of orders the company promises to open in three months.

The Design Insights of 2017: Part One
The Design Insights of 2017: Part One
From the cutting-edge cool of Project Cosmos to the traditional grandeur of Project Redwood, we take a look at the superyacht project design highlights of 2017, shining a light on the wow-worthy concepts that took the industry by storm.
Vitality: A Fresh Take on Stripped-back Superyacht Style The Berlin-based designer came to the fore this month with the steel and aluminium superyacht design dubbed Vitality this 2017. Conceptually, this is a project which is begging to be brought to the water, technically, a superyacht which offers endless space with a 5180 gross tonnage and 17.30-metre (57ft) beam. Vitality, the latest look at the superyacht lifestyle from designer Theodoros Fotiadis, is a 118-metre exercise in elegance. With huge space, timeless style and endless layout possibilities, it brings to life the retro modernism of any contemporary project, merging space and style with magnificence.
Project Redwood: An Update from the Design Studio Nuvolari-Lenard, one of the most innovative and largest yacht design studios in the world, released new design details of Project Redwood in 2017, a 139-metre Lurssen spectacle expected to be delivered to delighted new owners in 2019. Confirming that the superyacht will have a realm of endless capabilities, to name a few; the ability to land two helicopters on the decks and a fleet of tenders (even up to a size of 15-metres), making venturing off and arriving in comfort seamless as ever. Aside from being the perfect family vessel for afternoons of adrenaline, it will have efficient, long-range cruising capabilities for independent global exploration, ideal for freedom and discovery.
Superyacht Project Cosmos: A Gateway to the Galaxy The 90-metre Cosmos superyacht project, a new design collaboration between Luiz DeBasto and Oceanco, is an immersion into nature in an ethereal dimension. On board the outside world merges with the interior to create a new universe of luxury and serenity; capturing the very essence of sailing the great beyond.
"The glass dome, while it looks simple, is extremely complex in order to comply with all the regulations" says Luiz DeBasto.  The glass is UV protected and can be dimmed or colored to enhance any desired mood. On the outside the dome looks like it's floating above the hull, a vision to behold.
Closer Look: Explorer Project 'Days' Headed to the Blue With a 68-metre custom explorer yacht under construction, CCN Yachting - in collaboration with the yacht’s owner and builder AES Yachting - has assigned Burgess Yachts as the central agents responsible for bringing ‘Days’ to the water. Part of an all-new explorer range of ICE Yachts, M/Y Days is under construction in the AES facilities in Turkey with the view of delivery to her owner in Spring 2018. Her interior, a plush nude tone of creams merge to create a simple yet classic look of contemporary elegance, matching Project Days external.
Rossinavi & Pininfarina Present the Aurea Superyacht Pininfarina, the iconic Italian design studio, has joined forces with the craftsmen at Rossinavi to present Aurea; a superyacht concept with fluid lines and unparalleled lifestyle.
Taking the design DNA of Pininfarina, the studio responsible for automotive classics such as the Cisitalia 202 and the Ferrari Testarossa, Aurea is an evolutionary creation made for those who want to explore the water in style. With a focus on lifestyle thanks to its record-size beach club - unusual for a 70-metre superyacht - and huge exterior spaces with two swimming pools and water access on both sides of the hull.
We're looking forward to bringing you more in-depth design retrospectives across the coming weeks as we move into 2018.
