i know people do these traditionally when the year changes and i’m a couple of days late, but i just wanted to spread some kindness and i’m so incredibly grateful for all of my mutuals and everyone who is willing to put up with my mess of a tumblr, and this is not at all comprehensive list, but a list of people i admire, talk to and interact with the most and who have made my 2021 better and brighter and i have no doubt that the same one goes for 2022 too <3 and i'm so incredibly sorry if i have missed someone, it isn't personal <3 those who know me, know that i'm soft and sentimental, and this post is not an exception and i couldn't ask better people to be excited with about the new season and experience it all with you all <3

well, well, well. it’s the end of 2020.

kinda weird, isn’t it? the year has flown by and it’s already the end of the last month. it’s been..... strange to say the least, but this year i’ve found a place, and most specifically, people who have made this year a little bit better and brighter with either their presence or their content, and for that, i want to send some love to all of you who have made an impact on me this year with our interactions or your content on my dashboard 💖💖

Okay so @house-of-inspiration asked for some Caranthir and Imlerith joining the Red Riders. Caranthir got his turn yesterday so it’s Mr Murder machine time. That was also topped by @mentoskadraws showing me something AWESOME that made my feelings just go crazy, as per usual I hope yall enjoy it

Fic Name: The Soldier Fandom: The Witcher (Aen Elle) Characters: Eredin, Imlerith Pairing: none Warning: Mention of violence, blood and gore AO3: Click Summary: Young Imlerith is on a crossroad, the fight of the Aen Elle with humans is at and end and he feels like his fighting days might be over. A relatively sane version of Imlerith as that is many years before the Crones from Crockback Bog.

Imlerith was sitting in the tavern in one of these corners that had good visibility to the whole place, but people could hardly see him. It wasn’t typical for him to hide, and he didn't hide, he never did that, just he wanted to get away from everyone and everything.

He had heard old warriors talk about it, the moment you understand your own mortality, but that was old people talk. He had never felt fear in battle and it wasn’t fear that was bothering him right now. It was something different. Something that made the drink in his hand tasteless and his typical physical urges nonexistent. Imlerith spent the time between battles drinking and fucking and for some reason neither of them seemed appealing right now. If anything he just wanted peace and quiet. That is what freaked him out. It was unusual. It was not like him. Old warriors talked about crap like that when they knew they would die and tomorrow was the final battle they would ever have with the humans. Was that it? Maybe he sensed the end of war and that broke him? Why did he have no appetite?

He watched the soldiers drink around tables, shouting, screaming and laughing. Drinks spilling on the ground, one of the tavern girls trying to bring more, but a man pulled her on his lap and she dropped everything. Laughs and whistles followed. Imlerith just sighed. That was him, that used to be him. What was going on?

He left a few coins on the table and walked out. Obviously drinking and fucking was not for him today, but he also didn’t want to sleep. His blood was boiling before battle in excitement, going to bed was not an option and his own thoughts were not pleasant right now. Imlerith walked the streets of Tir na Lia, hood covering his face, for the first time in his life he wanted to be...invisible. That was also a new feeling. He walked aimlessly through the city, mostly everyone was asleep, normal people did not bother with the drunk feasts of men who were probably going to die tomorrow.

There it was again.

The thought about death.

He could have walked for hours or minutes, when he found himself in front of an old house. There were no lights so he assumed whoever lived here now was already asleep. That used to be his childhood home, the place where he grew up. He has not been here in...years. Imlerith had grown to be a nobody. His parents were nothing impressive, left behind nothing remarkable. He was the same, not many talents in him, not really smart, he knew that, didn’t have talent for crafts either, nor for talking, always better at destroying stuff than building them. He was a teenager when he decided to join the king’s army, mostly because he didn’t want to stave and then he had discovered his talent. He had always been a violent kid, getting in trouble, but the army...that had given him outlet, he could express himself as best as he could, nobody cared about the human and unicorn corpses he left behind himself.

But all that was coming to an end was it not? The humans were almost done and the unicorns...well as much as he loved seeing their skulls destroyed nothing really screamed like a human about to die.

Was that what bothered him? His purpose was about to die with this one final battle and he would do what? He was his strength, he was his mace and he was his brutality, he might not be a smart man, but that much he knew. It was death he was scared of, now he realized. It wasn’t the physical death, the gore of brutal wounds and his guts spilling on the ground. The death of who he was. His nature not having a place to regain.

Imlerith found himself in the heat of the battle, his favorite place to be, his thoughts from yesterday left somewhere behind. His mace was already soaked in blood, his body ached, but he had never felt better. That was who he was and where he belonged. Shamed that was going to be the end of humankind, or at least of their resistance.

He turned around by instinct seeing two humans surrounding an elf who was cornered next to a tree. Imlerith smiled and bashed his mace right in the head of the first human, the brain and blood making the other one turn his attention, but that was too late. The other elf didn’t lose a second and jammed his sword through the man’s chest. The man tried to scream but that scream turned into a cough of blood, yeah that always happens when you get a sword in the chest.

Just now Imlerith noticed the elf was a Red Rider. He had lost his helmet, and he could see blood running down his left side.

“Impressive.” the Red Rider said, pushing himself away from the tree, there were three more corpses on the ground, that explained why he had been cornered, it had taken five of them. Now Imlerith finally recognized him. Eredin Bréacc Glas, the leader of the Red Riders was standing in front of him...well maybe not in his full might as he was dirty and bleeding, but still regal. “I guess I owe you one, soldier.”

“Don’t mention it.” Imlerith smiled and rushed back to the battle.

Tonight was different than yesterday, it was worse. Everyone around him was drinking to celebrate their victory, he was going to drink himself to death to mourn the end of fighting. All these losers would go to their families and what was left for him? The only family he knew was war and violence, and for some reason people frowned when you try to start a fight in the middle of Tir na Lia. He was going to join his men when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Imlerith turned around slowly making sure he didn't spill the five drinks he was carrying as he intended to drink all of them in full.

“I was hoping I can buy you a drink.” Eredin was looking at him with a coy smile. He wasn’t wearing armor now and his left hand was bandaged. Imlerith looked at his men who were already half drunk, whatever, he could spend a moment to drink with...someone who was so much higher in the hierarchy that it wasn’t even funny. What was next, drinking with the king himself?

The tavern was full, but somehow Eredin managed to get them a table, that same table Imlerith was sinking in self pity last night, ironic. All the leader of the Red Riders had to do was smile and the soldiers sitting there just excused themselves. Imlerith lined the five drinks in front of himself as Eredin was observing him with curiosity.

“I watched you today.” Eventually the Red Rider said.

“First of all, that’s creepy.” Imlerith drank. “Second, at least buy me dinner first and then tell me that.”

“I also asked around about you.” Eredin was still smiling. “Joined the army very young. You should be a general by your own right given how successful you are and your skills in battle. Also the time you have spent fighting”

“I have also been reprimanded a few times.” Imlerith added. Few times was underestimation. He had been in fights with his fellow soldiers, he even killed a guy once over a woman. He didn’t even remember how the woman looked like, nor he had slept with her that night but he remembered his officer stripping him of a rank. He also remembered smashing that same officer’s head in a wall. No one knew about that however.

“Heard that as well.” Eredin raised an eyebrow. “I read a report where someone described you as uncontrollable, dangerous and even...psychopathic.” Imlerith knew that whoever wrote that did not mean it as a compliment, but...it kind of was. “There might be a sport with the Red Riders for someone like you.”

Imlerith stared for a second. He needed some time to process the words, he wasn’t as drunk as he would like to be, but he had enough alcohol and adrenaline in his system to find it hard to understand the words that were just directed at him.

“Me? A Red Rider?” he started laughing hysterical. He laughed so hard he pushed one of his drinks, by accident, and it spilled on the table, running down Eredin’s pretty clothes. “I think I will ruin your reputation.” he finally said once he calmed down, Eredin’s face wasn’t as pleased as it was a moment ago.

“Who said I care about clean reputation. You my friend are exactly what I need.” The grin Eredin gave him made Imlerith smile as well. He wasn’t sure the Red Rider knew what he was purchasing, but he would be damned if he was to refuse an opportunity like that. A beautiful picture grew in Imlerith’s mind, an image of fights and blood as much as his heart desired.

I’m so glad you have shared your incredible writing gifts with us and that this show and love story have inspired you to get your writing out into the world. I love the unique perspective you bring to Nick & June’s story and I love imagining all sorts of Nick & June head canons with you (even if thinking about that sometimes makes me want to weep in a corner). I also appreciate your ability to see even people who crap on Nick in this fandom from a place of respect. You’re a gem.

@mrsariayoureakiller My absolute favorite person to rant with about the things this show is doing wrong. Sure I LOVE Nick and June but this show has some er.....flaws, mostly regarding their mishandling of race by ignoring it entirely. Not to mention some damaging “strong woman” tropes. I love discussing these topics with you! I also love talking with a woman outside of my generation. It’s good to have lady friends who bring a fresh perspective to things. I can’t wait to pick apart season three with you. Well I’ve already done a tag for FEMALE CHARACTERS so I’ll leave this in case you wanna check it. For not repeating myself, I’ll do this time just male characters.

1. Haplo the Patryn - The Death Gate Cycle (book series)

Posting an amazing fanart by Melusaaste because there’s not an official art that shows him so close-up, and honestly, this is the most accurate depiction of him I’ve ever seen.

Haplo is the anti-hero and main character of The Death Gate Cycle series written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Personal childhood hero (despite being an antihero himself), husbando and whatnot, until today he’s one of my fav characters ever, because through him I learnt the most perfect character development, from a cruel, merciless and amoral villain, to... well, not a hero if you think so, but to redeemed human being.

“A 'why' is a dangerous thing... It challenges old, comfortable ways, forces people to think about that they do instead of just mindlessly doing it.” - Haplo in Dragon Wing, the first volume of the series.

2. Johan Liebheart - Monster

You don’t know what’s a villain until you meet this bastard. I am not an otaku or very enthusiastic of anime series, but Monster by Naoki Urasawa are probably the best manga/anime series ever written. And his villain, Johan Liberheart, one of the most twisted fucks ever written by an author.

Tortured, mentally ill, twisted, cruel, amoral, there’s no way to explain Johan. He experiences no character development and he has not a single redeeming quality, yet you just can’t let him go. An unforgettable character, not recommended for the weak and vulnerable.

There's nothing special about being born. Not a thing. Most of the universe is just death, nothing more. In this universe of ours, the birth of a new life on some corner of our planet is nothing but a tiny, insignificant flash. Death is a normal thing. So why live?

3. Geralt of Rivia - The Witcher (book/videogame series)

I’m so sorry I met this amazing character through The Witcher videogame series, because he existed already in the book series of the same name written by Andrzej Sapkowski, and I really feel like posting this video because it perfectly sums up the spirit of the character.

Geralt is a witcher, a mutant specialist in killing demons and monsters for coin. He’s shaped like an anti-hero and despised by his society because of his nature and his mercenary job, but despite having everything for being just a rogue scoundrel, he manages to become a very rich character. Full of redeeming qualities despite his grey morals, Geralt struggles in a cruel Middle-Ages world to keep something human for himself, when everyone surrounding him tries to turn him in the heartless freak he was trained to be.

“People," Geralt turned his head, "like to invent monsters and monstrosities. Then they seem less monstrous themselves. When they get blind-drunk, cheat, steal, beat their wives, starve an old woman, when they kill a trapped fox with an axe or riddle the last existing unicorn with arrows, they like to think that the Bane entering cottages at daybreak is more monstrous than they are. 4. Raistlin Majere - The Dragonlace (book series)

Again, I’ve to go back to a character created by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (man, this people CAN write characters I tell you), this time for the Dragonlance series. These books are less original and brilliant than The Death Gate Cycle, but more popular and beloved because they are easier to read. And Raistlin Majere is probably the best character written for these series, being saved among them because of being, probably, the less cliché and the more complex of them all.

And again, anti-hero at times, redeemed hero at other times, tortured, twisted, cynic and cruel, but also able to show kindness and a human heart at times. Raistlin was born weak and sick and sacrificed everything (including his own health) for one sake: magic. And power. His only life desire is what will lead him to his own destruction.

"Of course this means a lot to me, Caramon. It means everything! I have worked and studied almost my entire life for this chance. What would you have me do - cast it aside because it is dangerous? Life is dangerous, Caramon. Just stepping out that door is dangerous! You cannot hide me from danger. Death floats in the air, creeps through the window, comes in with the hand-shake of a stranger. If we stop living because we fear death we have already died."

5. Tyrion Lannister (A Song of Ice and Ice/Game of Thrones series)

This little amazing piece of awesomeness needs no presentation. I am again sorry I met through the Game Of Thrones TV series and not A Song Of Ice And Fire books, but it was totally worth it because it’s one of the most well-written characters I’ve had the pleasure to meet, and I must say Peter Dinklage was born to play him.

What can I say? Tyrion is one of those characters who are worth living. A dwarf, deformed, ugly, with no physical or war skills, relying only in his extreme intelligence and wisdom and his political talent to survive, he’s one of the most strong inspirations one can find. Definitely go check him.

6. Kurtis Trent (Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness videogame)

I included Lara Croft in my female characters list, it would be absolutely unfair to forget Kurtis as he’s the other character that got my heart in TR series. Not gonna rant long about him here, because you already know my opinion. He was amazing. He deserved better. Ex-legionnaire, demon hunter and Lux Veritatis warrior, I’ve devoted all my fanfics to develop him as there was no chance for Core Design to do it so.

Fitting more in the role of a hero, I think he was also the perfect partner for Lara. His background is very well written and he had a lot of potential. The fact I will never see it doesn’t change anything. He deserves his place here.

7. L Lawliet - Death Note (manga/anime series)

Again, I reinforce the statement that I’m not a fan of manga/anime series, but definitely Death Note is, together with Monster, one of those you should watch. And yes for everyone who loves Death Note, I’m a L fan. You always choose between L or Kira sides, and despite I’ve to recognize that Kira is a very complex, well written character, it’s L who gets my heart.

Supertalented, amoral, brilliant, extremely unpredictable and surprising, L is the first one of the agents that will try to catch Kira, the murderer who uses a Death Note to implant his particular justice world. L deserves your attention more than Kira, I presume. Or at least, it’s what I think.

“There are... many types of monsters in this world: Monsters who will not show themselves and who cause trouble; monsters who abduct children; monsters who devour dreams; monsters who suck blood, and... monsters who always tell lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance. They are much more cunning than other monsters. They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart. They eat even though they've never experienced hunger. They study even though they have no interest in academics. They seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such a monster, I would likely be eaten by it. Because in truth, I am that monster.”

8. V - V for Vendetta (graphic novel/movie)

I know, easy to love him, right? Again I’m sad that I met this character through the movie and not the original graphic novel, though you can’t say a thing against Hugo Weaving’s magnificent delivery. I wish I could get my hands on the graphic novel, so I can know him better.

Anarchist, terrorist, idealist, V is the incarnation of the protest against dictatorship and opression in a dystopian England that has supressed all the rights and human freedom. If you don’tknow him, I strongly recommend at least the movie, for the inspiration this character delivers goes beyond that the mask that has trascended the movie itself to become a symbol of citizen fight.

9. Roger - American Dad (TV series)

Well technically he’s not a he, he’s rather an it, but whatever. Also he’s it’s a different trend in this post since I love him particularly because he’s funny and incarnates all the non-political correct you can expect from someone.

He also gives me, kinda, TR vibes. Roger is an alien who landed in Earth during Cold War and was rescued and sheltered at his home by Stan, a CIA agent who’s the main character of the series. Honestly I think Roger is the best of American Dad - a TV show which basically and mercilessly mocks every American value - because despite being an alien is absolutely, indecently human. I prefer him and this show much more than the overrated Family Guy.

10. Dwight Schrute - The Office (TV series)

Last but not the least, the efficient, clever and adorable bastard hillbilly from The Office. I loved him from the very first moment he appeared. Yeah I know many people hate him or prefer the goofy boss of the handsome Jim but Dwight is really my spirit animal and speaks to me in so many levels. No more comment needed. He’s the best of the show to me.

Well this took forever, right? Sorry for the length of this post but now I’m free I wanted to give it some thought. I see again that I’ve a soft spot for grey morals, redeeming qualities, bad boys and complex characters. This is how it goes! ;)

Putting it under the cut cause- VERY long results

1 - How old is your character? Rosie (despite look around 19/25) is several hundred years old. No one knows her exact age (She gives the old “It’s rude to ask a wizard her age~” whenever you ask).

Diana is (Currently, since she time travels and ages at some point in the book I’m writing with her) is 14! :>2 - How well would you get along with your character? Rosie is awesome! (And basically me if I were a carefree wizard) however, she does get out-of-hand sometimes (A stern “Rosaline!” will instantly reel her in though).

Diana is a bit too stiff for me, I feel like we’d be friendly acquaintances at best. 3 - If your character had a favorite Disney character, who would it be? Rosie’s would definitely be Mabel from Gravity Falls! (Does Disney XD count???)

Diana’s would probably be Moana (From Moana) 4 - What’s the worst thing your character has ever experienced? Diana (At the moment- this might change) meets what is basically her family through time travel, and her goal is to help them get powerful enough to cast certain spells. Unfortunately, once that’s over and done with, she has to go back, otherwise the timeline will be messed up. Being completely alone in her own time, willingly leaving her family (and being gone for a good chunk of their lives) is the hardest thing she has to do. She later meets up with their older selves, but notices several battle-scars and memories she wasn’t there for. She feels like she wasn’t there when they needed her most, and despite what they say, she still thinks about it even years after.

Rosie… No one knows what Rosie’s worst memory is. Her pupils have asked- mostly to ask why she sometimes screams in her sleep, or why tears gather at the corners of her eyes whenever it snows -but she never answers. Sometimes, they aren’t even sure she knows. There have been times where they tap her shoulder (she would be staring at the snow through a window while crying silently) and she’d turn around and act as if everything was fine. “Miss Rosie? Why are you crying?” “Crying? Am I? Oh… I’m not sure.” She also flinches at the name ‘Akinson’. (Akinson Daily is a newspaper in her universe- which just raises more questions)

5 - Does your character like animals? Rosie is indifferent towards them. As far as she’s concerned, they’re just part of the scenery.

Diana likes any and all familiars (She lives in a magic world) as for non-magical animals, she’s properly cautious with bigger animals, and can pet the small friendly ones with a smile on her face. 6 - What is your character’s Jung/MBTI personality type? *Shrug* I don’t know nothin’ bout’ that.7 - What is his/her Zodiac sign (astrological/chinese)? No thank you. (I will answer no questions) 8 - How well does you OC deal with stress? Rosie usually sits on a hill somewhere (or anywhere high up really) and watches sunsets to calm her nerves. If she’s really wound up however -well, she once disappeared for days and came back with burn marks and a bag of gold coins (Her response to this was, “Nothing like an adventure to spice things up!”).

As for Diana- ‘I got this.’ becomes her catch phrase. She doesn’t really deal with it… well. Diana is the kind of person who let’s her stress get so bad that she stops sleeping. Her friends usually have to force her to sleep and drag her out for dinner. A good ole’ festival or late night walk will chill her out though. Really, her friends can distract her from anything. 9 - Is/Would your OC be ‘tech-savvy’? (This one’s funny to me because they both live in magic worlds with a little technology) Rosie wouldn’t care for computers and stuff- but if you gave her one with nothing else to do, she’d know the in’s and out’s of it in an hour or so.

Diana would use tech for anything she needed to (Work mostly) and be really bad with anything else.10 - What is your OC’s greatest fear? Rosie isn’t afraid of her pupils getting hurt (getting hurt is part of learning, and if that’s the cost then so be it) what she’s afraid of is them getting hurt or killed because of her. Diana’s fear for most of her life was being alone, but as she goes on her adventure and earns her little non-related family, it becomes letting them down in any way, shape, or form. 11 - Does you OC have any phobias or disorders? Rosie had pretty severe social anxiety when she was little (something no one believes, considering her current personality). It’s rumored that she has a fear of a certain magic-growing tree. She will neither confirm or deny this.

12 - What is something your OC is secretly good/decently talented at? Rosie has millions of little things she’s good at for some reason- she’s excellent at dancing (particularly traditional festival dances, though she somehow knows the steps to traditions she’s never been a part of).

Diana’s been reporting on magic and wizards and things since she was twelve and a half. She’s exceptionally good at remembering obscure details and being completely unfazed by the strange spells of other wizards. (Which does wonders when someone is trying to intimidate you) 13 - Is he/she superstitious? Rosie pretends to be sometimes, but it’s mostly to fool children (and they believe her because she’s probably the only magic user they’ve ever met).

Diana would scoff at the thought. She is a woman of science and history. 14 - If your character was in one or more fandoms, what would they be in? Rosie would be into Little Witch Academia (It reminds her of her younger years, funny enough), Doctor Who, and My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic (She likes Pinkie Pie the most).

Diana would be a huge dork for Harry Potter and Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children. She’d also be a bit of a closet fan of musicals (Specifically Waitress. She would love Waitress).15 - Is your character more intellectual, athletic, or somewhere in between? Rosie is more silly than intellectual (though she does have moments that hint at the mind beneath her silly smiles- they take everyone by surprise and scare them sometimes with how serious she sounds). What she lacks in athletic strength, she makes up for in magical power.

Diana is definitely more of an intellectual. You don’t have to try hard to topple her over. You could like like. Poke her. Then boom. She’s on the ground. Probably bruises easily too. She is the target of many jokes from her ‘friends’.

16 - What Harry Potter house is he/she in? Rosie is a Hufflepuff for sure.

Diana is a Slytherin! :>17 - Extrovert or introvert? Rosie is an ambivert! She love interacting with people but also has days of quiet book-reading next to her fireplace.

Diana is an introvert. 18 - Is he/she more of a leader or a follower? Both leaders.

19 - How does your OC feel about romance? Rosie usually doesn’t have an opinion on this kind of thing- however once, when she was very tired, and not thinking, she let it slip that “I probably don’t deserve that kind of thing considering…” before promptly falling asleep on her desk.

Diana thinks she has better things to do with her time then date. However, the right boy would be able to knock her out of her tower of tunnel vision, and turn her life upside-down. So, she’d say absolutely not- but if the right boy came along, her heart would take over.
