Since you said it's ok to send you random ask, i've always found your "monsters" design to be really really gorgeous, and I wanted to know : in any form of media you've interacted with, what's PEAK monster design for you ?

i have been thinking about this ask alot bc ... i dont ... know? theres a problem with what counts as a monster really too, most are either some sort of anthro/furry or the horror gore type of monster that instills you more with disgust than awe

i guess theres some i really like but idk if thats what id call 'peak' (though its rarely JUST the design but their vibe and stuff too);

(its a lot of zelda.. sorry)

Eldra, Farodra and Naydra (engl Dinraal, Farosh(?)) though Eldra is def my fav one of them, i like how they are a little more less typical dragon- with the fur around the neck the floppy ears and kinda goofy face yet manage to be the most ethereal, awe inspiring creature i have ever seen in a game with how they act and are presented as (in BOTW!!! do not mention anythign sonau/zonai with stupid magic pebbles to me about them i will manifest worms into your tea)

Leunen (Lynels) (botw) -i could not find a better picture wtf, fav are white and silver ones) FINE they had some pretty neat new horn designs in totk- idk i just like them alot, rather simple if you think about it, horse lion plus horns- but its so well put together it just kinda scratches my brain in a good way (also how intelligent they clearly are, like the way they fight and act and also even their death animation is so??? huh?? you are just gonna treat them like any other mindless monste- *remmbers they treat ganondorf even even worse all things considered* .. nevermind you're good)

'Beast' Ganondorf (twilight princess) its my favorite beast ganon design (even if it technically is just kinda a man boar .. again) though if ww gan had a non puppet beast form that one would most definitely be my fav lol (i will not get over the fact that some descriptions call this a hideous beast EXCUSE ME???? WHERE???) (honorable mention here, darkbest ganon from botw, pig on fire but it looks cool as fuck)

Nimbusgarde (ww) .. (engl .. darknuts?) do i need to say anything? (i could throw alot of ww design here) not sure if it counts as monster but they are not human so ????

the pathless bosses- (here in order, Cernos, the Godslayer, and Kumo) all of them are rad as hell (except for the final version of the godslayer ... liek im sorry but it looks to boring compared to any other one lol) again not just the design but man do i love them

since i dont know what would count as a monster or no i could just list my fav characters here bfmjbfmjsbmj like radahn (elden ring) is just kinda a zombie, aurelion sol (league of legends) is a space dragon, the forest god in princess mononoke, Narisha (skyward sword- sky whale)- i could go on but this post is long already (honorable mention to Omus in nausicäa, weird bugs but also something divine, though it is much more how they are treated and the vibe etc)

in all honesty though i cant think of one that i would describe as perfect, what i want of a monster design is to be ... cool but also a little weird, big hulking monsters that have something off about them and something that makes them 'other', but also not, as much as i like bloodborne, just bloody gory messes of rotting flesh, AND not just as a monster to kill, i just crave a game or otherwiese piece of media where the cool monsters arent just there for you to kill- the perfect one i guess would be something kinda big scary weird and off but while non verbal clearly not a mindless beast?

and here is the thing; my own characters do not furfill that, my designs are really rather conservative, much to my dismay, anthro of a mix of animals, maybe an extra arm thrown in- Eadrya, one of my favorites, is really just a blueish furry (yes they have fur) and their demon form is a mix of seals and catfish with some extra arms, too many teeth and a mouth that goas wayy to far (if they want) - Shargon is a feather dude with extra arms and his demon form is really just a chinese type dragon crossed with a bird, throw some darts at the color wheel, done

together with my problem of my monster characters losing their 'otherness' vibe within the story rather fast bc the majority of my characters are non human and speak and you see them in all sorts of emotions and parts of life- they lose that divine, unknown vibe and i HATE that that happens, i want them more akin to the forest god in mononoke but thats not possible unless i start from scratch

and i really dont mean to make myself look bad to sound self depre- ... however you spell that; i really am rather dissatisfied with my own designs but mostly just roll with what i got bc i never seem to be able to actually achieve what i want

even my redesigns often really make things LESS interesting (unless maybe the og was just ... human, but they are blue eyed with golden hair and white so that makes them divine you seE-), the skyward sword dragons as i redesigned them made them much more classical dragon, in part intentional bc i was drawing a connection of them becoming the botw dragons at some point, but by all means the canon design is much more weird and unusual than what i did with them, you could apply the same to even demise, his canon design might seem a little uninspired but really what did i do? inject him with some classic satan spice like that makes it in any way less stereotypical evil demon ??? lol

im sorry this post devolved into whatever this is but i really am trying to answer sincerely, i am confused about it myself, what counts as a monster, what doesnt, there must be more that i really loved but why cant i think of them, why do i design characters like this when i really want something much more different, i dont know, i feel like my brain is in a cage, why do i keep making things less interesting in an effort to make it interesting, am i falling into the corporate trap of cool sells who am i what am i doing

(theres a zelda artist with a style so strikingly genuis in shape, color and just .. DESIGN that i want to chew my nails off bc i cannot design like them, their designs and redesigns are so different yet sensical and so full of crisp shapes i have never seen before it drives me nuts and i would want to give them a shoutout but i think they dont like me so aaaaarhekjbfhgdknbgdfklbg)

Aurelion Sol chuckled. This mortal had gusto, as advertised on his posters. A perfect reflection of the fighting pits.

"A god?" the dragon hummed, a tremble disrupted the flow of his cosmic mane. What a wretched, mortal title to be used for him. Then again, how could a simple creature such as the Boss know any better. To anyone aside the Targonians, his visage had inspired utter awe for eons to those beneath the skies.

"I suppose you are not entirely incorrect" a low grumble accompanied the statement, "though perhaps you could be more creative. As for understanding of wealth, it might take a... smaller perspective to enlighten me. After all, what are such trivial things to one who brought all of it into existence?"

The looming celestial figure lowered further from above, a large clawed finger poked the emblem on Sett's coat. He showed no care for the reaction, or the personal space of the vastaya. "The same matter that you now use to 'beat each other senseless' once nestled in my claws as star dust. Your world, your entirety, birthed from the residue of my great work. The air you breathe, the earth you walk on, all of it."

For a flash, a deep coldness took hold of Aurelion Sol's eyes. What a headache.

"And you have, in the endless creativity bestowed upon you, found its only use to be for fighting? For entertainment?"

A silence fell as Aurelion Sol gazed upwards as if to behold the stars that weren't in sight, the thought that this would be result of one of his many, many works was a ponderous thought. Despite his belittlment, there was but a begrudging respect to one who knew himself so well that he could be happy with the the most basic of enrichment.

Since I finally beat Lissandra 5 times in the newest Path of Champion Adventure and got the final reward, a Golden Reliquary, I can finally complain how badly designed this Adventure is.

Like, how did they managed to add all the wrong things in the Adventure? You get like no powers or meaningful items for your champion, you have very little healing nodes and have only one node there you can trim you deck, which requires you take a special path.

Since the nodes are stationary, there is literally only one meaningful path forward, because you have to visit the Ethereal Remitter since he can give you a strong power which can help you (Vestige of Helia, Mercy Killing, Mortal Marks, etc.) and Mind Meld, which you have the option to trim your deck as far as you can because an overstuffed deck WILL kill in you in the final battle.

And then you finally get to Lissandra, she throws some real bullshit (so many Entombs, so many Ice Shards, Buried in Ice with Hextech Fabricator III) on you which would be fine if the game wouldn't be so punishing you for playinger more than three cards. After you third card, all cards get flat +3 cost increase and if you run things like Chemtech Duplicator, it also counts them as double which mean if you have two champs with it, one spell instantly result on every card being more expensive.

In contrast to Aurelion Sol, Lissandra doesn't throw as much random generated bullshit like Aurelion Sol does but boi, the Adventure sucks so hard. They should at least remove the cost increase, you already nerfed hard in this Adventure.

Raising difficulty by handicapping a player is just bad game design in my opinion. And quite frankly, even with the announced 6 star system, I don't see myself replaying it if I don't have to. Aurelion Sols Adventure is more fun anyway.

Skins I would love to see: Space Groove Edition! ☆

1) Space Groove Senna! ♡

This skin would be a banger! The sound effects would be so nice with her ultimate especially. Her passive stacks being disco balls. I would love to see her with an afro! Afro puffs would also be super cute! Holographic jumpsuit! Aaaaaaa!

2) Space Groove Orianna! ♡

I love Orianna so much and I think she is perfect for this skin line! It would be an amazing chance for a legendary. The ball is angry. (Slay version) Her ultimate would be so nice with space groove effects. Maybe add some of the lava lamp effects with her torso? They could do anything for Ori and I would eat it up tbh.

3) Space Groove Nilah! ♡

My favourite thing about the space groove skins has to be the sound effects and nilahs abilities would be perfect. Her ultimate could be like a record player spinning! And her q autos could make music! Her whip could be a lavalamp ribbon, like ribbon dancing!

4) Space Groove Qiyana! ♡

Qiyana is one of my favourite champions in the game. Her design and base skin creates so many unique opportunities for creative skins. Her weapon could be a glowstick hoola hoop! Pink space buns! Her ultimate would be so cute with space groove effects!

5) Space Groove Aurelion Sol! ♡

I feel like it's about time Sol gets a legendary and space groove would be such a nice one. Lava lamp dragon. The reason I say this should be a legendary is because of his new ultimate. It is almost global and he could turn half the map into a space groove party! It would also be cool to add planets circling him to honor his balls!

6) Space Groove Diana! ♡

I really want Diana to have some more cute and fun skinlines and I think space groove would be so cool. Her shield being a big planet and stars or smaller planets! Her ultimate having a beat effect with space groove music! For her hair maybe a high pony? Blue hair and pronouns.......

7) Space Groove Milio! ♡

Another champion who has opportunity for some really cool skins is Milio! I would love to see his fuemigos similar to space groove teemos mushrooms! Adorable! He has another large ultimate! Dance Party!

8) Space Groove Miss Fortune! ♡

Miss Fortune serves and she would be a unique space groove skin but it would be really nice! Roller blade disco! Her e being space groove gloop falling on people! Her Q could be a little guy like teemos mushrooms! I would love to see her in a iridescent skirt! Twin tails would be so cool! Pink and green hair!

9) Space Groove Neeko! ♡

Neeko groovy tomato. Her tail and antenna having the lava lamp effect would be so so cool. She would be good for roller blades! She could be using them in her back but instead of it being like Luxs back she could fall over! Her q and ultimate with space groove effects and sounds would be to die for!

Porcelain Protector Aurelion Sol (Legendary), Porcelain Morgana, Miss Fortune, Darius, Graves, Irelia, and Kindred (Prestige)

I have a lot of thoughts about Irelia

simply based on irelia’s caption on twitter being “dainty by design”, i’m assuming it was an intentional design decision to make her appear more delicate, especially since it’s the porcelain skinline

even though toughness and ruggedness are more emphasized in darius’s and graves’s descriptions and “delicate” and “dainty” are one of the last words I would ever use to describe irelia

regardless, i do find her proportions a bit weird and her face and some featured are much sharper than normal

i actually really like her shorter hair and i believe they compensated for that shape with the sort-of slitted cape thing she wears, though i personally think her bangs on the model look a bit goofy

i think the ram horns are very cute

the original point i wanted to make is that i associated rams a bit more with aggressiveness compared to sheep (i just found out rams are male sheep), so i think giving irelia those curved horns—regardless of it having that softer shape language—to me, presents her as more assertive and more like default irelia

her upper half especially is so thin and i think that’s what really makes her look like a genshin character

my partner said she looks like “drx anime princess ashe”

anyways fluffy kindred good 👍

i think it’s interesting to see how they adapt the new prestige concept to non-human champions

i remember warwick’s being very well received and i do think kindred’s falls a bit short of that

Despite his size, he was very agile on his feet. Bigger than a toddler, the rat scuried along the streets following the one thing he could count on: his nose. His eyesight was terrible and he could only depent on it when things were directly in front of him so more often than not he relied on every other sense.

He would not know the answer to when he became Twitch. When a mere rat was more than one and had more sentience than any of its siblings. He didn't care either way. He was home and he could do whatever he wanted! LIfe in the Zaun was not the easiest, but when you thrived on what everyone else looked down upon, you were King. Everything thing that got mold and went bad was a feast to him and he would find that a lot, especially around the area that droped tasty food from the.... upside? Not his business. In that place, he was king.

Of course not everything was dead flowers, the humans didn't like to see him. Oh no sir they didn't! But that was what his crossbow, now being firmly held on his back, was for! He had found it in the trash and apparently was good enough with it to chase away others! Haha! Genius!

Twitch stood on his back paws, adjusting his little coat on (another treasure he had put together) and tiled his head up, catching a really good smell. Rotten fish? No..... Moldy bread? No no, not that. It was so toxic, so enchanting!!! He had to go after it!

And off into the darkness he went, following a sweet trail left behind by the same person who had turned him into well, him!

You once said that the institute was Mean Girls but with LOL champions and I want you to know I can’t stop thinking of a new champion going through the cafeteria/lunch room scene or someone has a ‘burn book’

So, you know, thanks. Also, your discussion about Yasuo and Ahri is making me consider an Odyssey one shot.

i never leave home without taking a sip from my 'iconic mean girls scenes' juice. I have a bunch of scenarios with the champions and the movie. Much more than id like to admit.

For the cafeteria room, its funny to put them by regions BUT its way funnier when you clasify them... like for example the table of the 'sexually active couple's' that Janis mentions in the movie but its Xayah/Rakan, Lucian/Senna and those untold relationships in league like Jarvan/Shyvana and Garen/Katarina, Cait/Vi... Fortune/Illaoi if you ask me...

For the Plastics... im obsessed with Ruined King characters and they would definetly be the plastics but if i had to move on from that... Its probably Ahri as Regina George? Just cause shes the most popular one... Allow her to be sassy and mean for a bit. Probably Kai'sa as Gretchen cause shes also a popular pick and Lux as Karen cause she fits on the sunshine lollipops and rainbows blonde bimbo. Not good picks on my behalf basing only on rating picks and popularity but i couldnt think someone more fitting. Maybe Qiyana or Evelynn as Regina? Dont know.

For other tables... we definetly have the sassy edgy killer's table with Jhin, Pyke ... maybe Thresh too? Shaco, Zed, Nocturne? Talon?

The loud Zaunitans table with Jinx, Zeri, Ekko, Seraphine... Dr Mundo can fit...

The gym obsessed table with Braum, Pantheon, Garen and Darius... Illaoi and Sett... Trynda...

The ones that are too big to fit the room and have to eat outside like Cho'Gath, Galio... Aurelion Sol, Malphite...

The kid's table with Annie, Amumu, Gnar, Milio and Fizz messing around... Vex by mistake...

The lovecraftniang horrors like Bel Veth, Kha Zix, Vel'Koz, Fiddlesticks...

The Vastayan table, the hot asians table (just like in the movie), the yordle table, the 'we are literally animals', the 'we have too many skins' table, royalty table... shuriman god's table..., darkin's table... you can name a champion and has its table... i could spen hours. Point of Mean Girls x League is to ridiculize and simplify the characters. Like we know that canonically in actual lore, the sassy edgy killer table would be in literal civil war killing each others and stabbing, buuut its funny thinking about them sharing a salad or changing trays because they are picky eaters...

its my selection BUT id love to read more classifications perhaps mine is bland ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ im thinking about one with the art kids, like Gwen and Sona and more characters... dunno

And you probably COULD convince poros that red things are just faster, but you would have to convince all the poros of this.

Essentially, my canon is that poros create a sort of 'reality paradigm' around themselves; this is much stronger where there are more poros. But by virtue of them being 1/3rd innocence, poros believing something makes it true to some extent.

One poro believing a thing doesn't make it true besides Riceball. A fluft of poros believing something likely makes it sorta true sometimes, usually only around poros.

All the poros believing a thing makes is universally true. There are very few things that all poros believe, obviously. For one, no one would hurt a poro. Thus, no one is trying to hurt a poro. Thus, no one can, because this would require them wanting to hurt a poro, which is impossible. For reference, in League's own canon, they articulated that even when someone tried to eat a poro, having somehow turned it into a steak of some kind, said poro then regenerated inside of them. The poro was fine, but they were very not.

See also: Braum is friend of poros. Present tense. Braum is therefore now an always present being; his title as friend of poros is official. I'm pretty sure that puts him on the same plane as an ascended.

But also, things like darkin hate poros, because poros are immune to their effects. Things like void creatures fear poros, because poros naturally repel void energies. And well, there's a reason why the harrowing doesn't come to the Freljord, because poros are immune to its corruption and possess this power of theirs so strongly it makes Thresh into a kind being.

Thresh, the League universe's greatest sadist... cannot help but be nice to poros. Such is the power of poros all believing a thing.

Luckily, it is very hard to convince poros of many things, as they are innocent sheep puffs.

But if the poros do collectively believe things, I'm not sure Aurelion Sol could oppose that...

Piltover & Zaun aside,what's your favorite region / champion group?

If we lock away P&Z I think Bilgewater is my instant next favorite region, I really liked what we got to see of it in the Ruined King RPG game (setting wise, getting to actually feel the pirate hubs & cult groves & the incorporation of Giant Monsters into daily livelihood) and it also has a lot of Really Strong Cast Dynamics. It's a whimsical and/or grim place depending on the tone of the story being told, which is an extra plus for me. And I love Nilah!!!! This region gets almost an unfair edge because she's there now. Tahm Kench is not officially included as bilge lore but that's how I got introduced to him so for me he's up there too.

^Following that cue in terms of 'official' categories, the traveling Runeterra champs take the #2 spot. Kindred, Bard, Aurelion Sol, Evelynn, Fiddlesticks, Senna & Zilean all have deeply interesting story concepts that spark something, But i feel a little bit like that's cheating since its not a cohesive region by any means.

Targon would have been a close runner up bc you've got great character concepts there ( Tyari/The Traveler included, I am counting the LoR cards for all of these rankings since they deliver more flavor bits anyway) but it has the very unfortunate downside of not feeling like a real place *at all* for me. The way the lore is structured is also not my favorite, I think some writing decisions there were detrimental to it feeling like an ecosystem. Huge godly mountain shit is badass though.

I love the fairytale folklore parts of Ionia (Ivern, Lillia, Karma, Xayah&Rakan, Yone and Ahri under the right spotlight) but my enjoyment of these characters is so far removed from the overall sell of what Ionia is 'supposed' to be that I wouldn't consider it a favorite region LOL

The Void only counts as a place if you stretch the definition but I love eldritch shit and always have so the lack of set elaboration is made up for in the delusions my mind creates. Cool narrative forming there even when i have lukewarm opinions on how Kai'sa was handled etc, I like the theming and designs and how they affect other parts of the world. (Bandle CIty is also eldritch shit through a candy filter so the setting interests me a lot, though it hasn't gotten much elaboration at all.)

ALL IN ALL i have at least one or a couple favorite champs per each region, which means even when they're flopping SOMETHING in the place is working good so I cant complain 👍

YESS My favorite one is that he is aromantic and assexual and the closest thing he can feel to "human love" is an obsession to something he see as his posession. This headcanon appeared after I started writing the plot for my asol x oc comic, while I was analysing how he would love and I came to the conclusion that he just wouldn't after reading again all the stories he appears/someone talks abt him.

Tho he don't love he deeply cares for what he see as his.

Another fav one of my headcanons is he and Nicol Bolas from MTG would DEF be friends.....like FR.

Aurelion Sol yawned with the power and indecency of a thousand suns. Who would be able to stop him from being as loud as he desired? So long as he followed the Aspect's commands, there would be no punishment for him, so he could be as flamboyant as he desired.

Star dust escaped as he sighed, colouring the sky a faint pink and purple. Cosmic fragments shimmered before dissipating, allowing the star forger a brief reminder of what he missed. A moment of silence lingered before he rose to his feet.

This crown and the memories hurt too deeply to dwell on. Best to drown one's thoughts out with some well earned meddling. What better to meddle with than mortal affairs. There were so many, surely it would be nigh impossible for him to not find one who could offer him some entertainment.
