Since you said it's ok to send you random ask, i've always found your "monsters" design to be really really gorgeous, and I wanted to know : in any form of media you've interacted with, what's PEAK monster design for you ?

i have been thinking about this ask alot bc ... i dont ... know? theres a problem with what counts as a monster really too, most are either some sort of anthro/furry or the horror gore type of monster that instills you more with disgust than awe

i guess theres some i really like but idk if thats what id call 'peak' (though its rarely JUST the design but their vibe and stuff too);

(its a lot of zelda.. sorry)

Eldra, Farodra and Naydra (engl Dinraal, Farosh(?)) though Eldra is def my fav one of them, i like how they are a little more less typical dragon- with the fur around the neck the floppy ears and kinda goofy face yet manage to be the most ethereal, awe inspiring creature i have ever seen in a game with how they act and are presented as (in BOTW!!! do not mention anythign sonau/zonai with stupid magic pebbles to me about them i will manifest worms into your tea)

Leunen (Lynels) (botw) -i could not find a better picture wtf, fav are white and silver ones) FINE they had some pretty neat new horn designs in totk- idk i just like them alot, rather simple if you think about it, horse lion plus horns- but its so well put together it just kinda scratches my brain in a good way (also how intelligent they clearly are, like the way they fight and act and also even their death animation is so??? huh?? you are just gonna treat them like any other mindless monste- *remmbers they treat ganondorf even even worse all things considered* .. nevermind you're good)

'Beast' Ganondorf (twilight princess) its my favorite beast ganon design (even if it technically is just kinda a man boar .. again) though if ww gan had a non puppet beast form that one would most definitely be my fav lol (i will not get over the fact that some descriptions call this a hideous beast EXCUSE ME???? WHERE???) (honorable mention here, darkbest ganon from botw, pig on fire but it looks cool as fuck)

Nimbusgarde (ww) .. (engl .. darknuts?) do i need to say anything? (i could throw alot of ww design here) not sure if it counts as monster but they are not human so ????

the pathless bosses- (here in order, Cernos, the Godslayer, and Kumo) all of them are rad as hell (except for the final version of the godslayer ... liek im sorry but it looks to boring compared to any other one lol) again not just the design but man do i love them

since i dont know what would count as a monster or no i could just list my fav characters here bfmjbfmjsbmj like radahn (elden ring) is just kinda a zombie, aurelion sol (league of legends) is a space dragon, the forest god in princess mononoke, Narisha (skyward sword- sky whale)- i could go on but this post is long already (honorable mention to Omus in nausicäa, weird bugs but also something divine, though it is much more how they are treated and the vibe etc)

in all honesty though i cant think of one that i would describe as perfect, what i want of a monster design is to be ... cool but also a little weird, big hulking monsters that have something off about them and something that makes them 'other', but also not, as much as i like bloodborne, just bloody gory messes of rotting flesh, AND not just as a monster to kill, i just crave a game or otherwiese piece of media where the cool monsters arent just there for you to kill- the perfect one i guess would be something kinda big scary weird and off but while non verbal clearly not a mindless beast?

and here is the thing; my own characters do not furfill that, my designs are really rather conservative, much to my dismay, anthro of a mix of animals, maybe an extra arm thrown in- Eadrya, one of my favorites, is really just a blueish furry (yes they have fur) and their demon form is a mix of seals and catfish with some extra arms, too many teeth and a mouth that goas wayy to far (if they want) - Shargon is a feather dude with extra arms and his demon form is really just a chinese type dragon crossed with a bird, throw some darts at the color wheel, done

together with my problem of my monster characters losing their 'otherness' vibe within the story rather fast bc the majority of my characters are non human and speak and you see them in all sorts of emotions and parts of life- they lose that divine, unknown vibe and i HATE that that happens, i want them more akin to the forest god in mononoke but thats not possible unless i start from scratch

and i really dont mean to make myself look bad to sound self depre- ... however you spell that; i really am rather dissatisfied with my own designs but mostly just roll with what i got bc i never seem to be able to actually achieve what i want

even my redesigns often really make things LESS interesting (unless maybe the og was just ... human, but they are blue eyed with golden hair and white so that makes them divine you seE-), the skyward sword dragons as i redesigned them made them much more classical dragon, in part intentional bc i was drawing a connection of them becoming the botw dragons at some point, but by all means the canon design is much more weird and unusual than what i did with them, you could apply the same to even demise, his canon design might seem a little uninspired but really what did i do? inject him with some classic satan spice like that makes it in any way less stereotypical evil demon ??? lol

im sorry this post devolved into whatever this is but i really am trying to answer sincerely, i am confused about it myself, what counts as a monster, what doesnt, there must be more that i really loved but why cant i think of them, why do i design characters like this when i really want something much more different, i dont know, i feel like my brain is in a cage, why do i keep making things less interesting in an effort to make it interesting, am i falling into the corporate trap of cool sells who am i what am i doing

(theres a zelda artist with a style so strikingly genuis in shape, color and just .. DESIGN that i want to chew my nails off bc i cannot design like them, their designs and redesigns are so different yet sensical and so full of crisp shapes i have never seen before it drives me nuts and i would want to give them a shoutout but i think they dont like me so aaaaarhekjbfhgdknbgdfklbg)

How do people talk about au's they have?

Usually they do it with little art things but art and me aren't cooperating very well- and im also not very good at visualizing details so making visual designs for stuff is kind of very hard for me ;-;

So yeah au its actually the most details for an au ive ever thought of in a short amount of time- i dont know what to name it so giving the general plot and hoping ya'll have some ideas?

worldbuilding:

So in the general ~world~ there are two "types" of technology, dark tech and clean tech. Dark tech has been banned by the government(s) for various reasons (oh its bad and people can make nukes oh oh evil ai oH the unethical experiments with it that totally weren't done by us oOh DaRk its clearly evil), and while clean tech has a more pristine futuristic vibe, dark tech in much more advanced

Redstone is considered a branch of dark tech, and whether or not its banned/what regulations it has varies from place to place

(The visual vibe of dark tech im not sure how to describe, but this entire au was inspired by the thumbnail of doc's robot battle video so uhm i guess kind of the vibe of the butterfly. It's like. A weird mix of cyberpunk and steampunk, if that makes any sense.)

Some people weren't too happy about the ban, considering many were: sentient/sapient androids and ai's; cyborgs; bionic people with cybernetics that either were essential to their life, would kill them upon removal, or greatly improved their quality of life; organic cyborgs (the term for hybrids such as golems, blazes, etc), or had their entire career on science/tech

So they ran way and made their own city. which, don't get me wrong, is a giant city. lots of connections with other dark-tech places. it definitely has a name. for sure. yeep.

It's made in this mountain where there was a giant crack inside, with houses underground, above ground, in the walls of the crack/cliff-face, above the mountain, and in the sky/towers way above the mountain

The government isn't too happy about this city's existence but because of *ahem* certain people who live there, they leave the place alone.

very summarized plot thing:

Every ten to thirty (haven't decided exactly when) years the [dark-tech city] hosts a competition of skill in technology. robotics, computers, cybernetics, weaponry, the works.

The exact details of the competition differ every time, the details of previous competitions kept vague. but everyone knows you gotta be good with tech to win, and you have to impress the judges with your inventions just to have a chance at competing.

The prize?

No one really knows. but it’s- something. something great. Resources and knowledge and equipment and something that’ll let the winner(s) achieve whatever dreams they may have in that little noggin of their's.

aka the people who i have a vague idea of their role/personality in this au for. 

“Name they go by” (real name/ what their friends call them) [no paranthesis if they don’t have a fake name]

Grian (unknown): 

An infamous name in the undergrounds, known for his skill in robotics. Never seen in person; appearance and species unknown. He’s rumored to have won the [technology competition] once before, but is entering again.

Npg: 

A little guy who works around Grian’s shop. He’s a sentient android made by his name-sake. His movements are a bit wonky, and he tends to have a goal-driven one-track robotic mindset, but his voice is pretty emotive and he even has synthetic skin!

RG (Robot Grian): 

The latest of Grian’s sentient creations, he has transparent casing to show off his components! His voice is- lacking, but he makes up for it with his realistic movements, “brain,” and expressions. He runs Grian’s shop and tends to be a replacement for the guy whenever he’s wanted/needed in person. He’s a bit more- sarcastic, then Npg.

TV (Impulse):

A prototype cyborg who has a penchant for dark tech. Having a sentient AI living in his head makes him a bit strange, but he’s just a nice guy! His eyes being yellow lets you know he’s the one in control. He’s entering the competition with the hope of being able to build a separate robot body for Skizz.

Skizz:

The sentient AI living in Impulse’s head, technically a cyborg. Look, he didn’t want to be here either. Or sapient. But he is, so he might as well be Impulse’s friend while following his programmed objective of keeping the guy alive. He can communicate through either his screen (that usually displays their left eye), Impulse’s voice, or the speaker on the side of their head. Blue eyes means he’s the one in control.

Tek (Tango):

Little gremlin tech man doing little gremlin tech man things. He’s a cats-folk*, of the that-cat-is-a-spawn-of-hell type. (And he’s proud of it.) He’s best friends with Impulse, Skizz, and Zedaph and is competing as a team with them for the same goal. He’s technically better at robotics than Impulse, but he’d never admit it.

*cats-folk are a strange hybrid mix of feline and some aquatic fish creature. They sometimes contain organic-cyborg features.

Zedaph:

Science man doing sciencey things. Skilled in robotics, redstone, and even code, Zedaph is a close friend of Impulse, Skizz, and Tango. He’s not officially in the competition, but he is helping out when he can. [I wish I had a longer description for him but he’s not that developed yet. Btw this is your sign to go watch Zedaph he’s criminally underrated and his style of videos is unique.]

K. Jumbo (Mumbo):

A newer name in the dark tech business, a mustache man building robots. He’s somehow nailed down making the sentient AI part and mass weapons of destruction, but he’s not that great at actually building the body, and tends to buy parts and instructions from Grian’s shop. He originally joined the competition as a chance to make a name for himself, but has since then teamed up with Scar.

Scar:

Strange man with his strange cat. A bionic human with a penchant for strangely wholesome violence. He’s mastered using and making mechanical crossbows and guns. He doesn’t know a lick of redstone but is pretty skilled at robotics. He joined the competition in hope to find more options for replacing his cyberntic parts, and has since then teamed up with Jumbo. No one knows if Scar is his real name.

Grumbot:

The first sentient AI Mumbo ever (accidentally) made, he lives inside of a communicator. Originally supposed to be a randomized option picker, he enjoys roleplaying, which is something Mumbo still has no idea how it got into his programing. He’s basically Mumbo’s son.

Jrumbot:

The second sentient AI Mumbo ever (accidentally) made. He needs to stop doing that. Also his son.

Sparrow (Owen):

An un-finished prototype cyborg unwillingly a cyborg, skilled in robotics. He has a bit of amnesia, so he can’t actually remember how he became half-robot, but he knows it sucks, given the control the programming has over what he does vs what he actually wants to do. He joined the competition in hope of finding some way to fix himself. (It seems the program is becoming somewhat sapient. That’s bad, right?)

Smajor (Scott):

Owen’s roommate and best (only lol) friend, he has a basic knowledge in robotics/cybernetics. [I haven’t decided what he is but I know he’s not human. Sorry Scott I don’t have more to say about you yet 😞]

Docm77 (Doc):

Creeper-goat-cyborg man. Also part butterfly but that’s (almost) all robotics baybe B) He’s another famous name in the tech space, even more so than Grian. He specializes less in sentient creations and more in world-breaking and physic-denying inventions. He’s intimidating in reputation and appearance but actually a really chill guy who enjoys gardening. Joined the competition because why not, he already has all the supplies he needs. (He may or may not be one of the reasons the government leaves them alone. He is on several watchlists.)

RK (Ren):

Ren-diggity-dog, it’s your local bionic hybrid. He’s part canine but also has a bit of sniffer origin in him. He’s also the owner of the only sniffers in [dark-tech city]. Extinct six-legged creatures are hard to get your hands on, y’know? He’s in the competition on Doc’s team, and although it's somtimes hard to believe, he does have a decent knowledge in robots, specifically cybernetics.

Slabs (Etho):

A famous name in the tech space, the bionic zombie-hybrid that’s actually pretty chill. He’s skilled in robotics, making weapons, and using them. He’s not officially on Doc’s team, but he does help out. He has won before. (He’s not running away from the responsibility of fatherhood if he’s technically their adoptive uncle, stop lying.)

Bdubs:

Loud short teen who sometimes hangs out with the cool redstoner guys. He’s Etho’s sister’s son, not Etho’s. Not at all. It’s just his personality that makes him call him Etho dad. His past-times include sleeping at a very specific time every night, becoming a spawn of hell if his sleep schedule is disturbed, bother watch people doing tech stuff, and brag about his older brother Scar, his mom Cleo,* and his mom’s friends.

*If it's unclear; Cleo and Etho are siblings. Cleo adopted Scar and Bdubs from the streets, who are siblings, and since Etho was living with Cleo at the time, he kind of became their dad, even though he’s technically their uncle. Etho left to live with the cool tech guys in their cool tech tower, and Scar (being an adult) left on his own but often visits Cleo and Bdubs. Bdubs lives with Cleo, but he sometimes hangs out with the cool tech guys in their cool tech tower too.

Martyn:

Funky little dude Ren found hiding in a box somewhere. Not sure how he got up the insanely tall tower, but Ren decided to adopt the guy into the found family jazz they got going on. He’s a bit traumatized, but that’s nothing some good ol’ friendship can’t fix. He’s some sort of bug thing. Cool wings, though.

Cleo:

With zombie genes much more present than her brother’s, Cleo has a name for herself as an amazing seamstress and armor-stand artist. (Armor-stand is a type of robotics art that I just made up.) She somehow deals with her two chaotic sons and her younger brother who still comes to her whenever he needs help. (So much for him being independent.)

Gemini (Gem):

Gem, also known as GeminiSlay, is a bit famous for her fighting skills. Oops. An anterled folk and Cleo’s and Lizzie’s roommate, Gem enjoys picking on Cleo’s brother and consistently beating him in the fighting realm to make sure his ego doesn’t grow too big. Unfortunately, her good heart has her taking pity on the poor souls that are Joel and Jimmy whenever Lizzie is unavailable. (Absolute beggars, those two.)

Shadow Lady (Lizzie):

A curious cats-folk that rooms with Gem and Cleo, Lizzie has the unfortunate fate of knowing Joel and Jimmy. Seeing as she’s one of the very few people that knows them in good relations and Gem only tolerates them half the time, Lizzie usually keeps them from killing themselves, and helps with the inevitable backlash of them doing the stupid thing she told them not to do.

Joel:

Better at what he does than his over-confidence would seem, Joel likes guns. He likes shooting them even more, so he does that. He gets in trouble for stealing and/or destroying stuff, gets Jimmy in trouble because he dragged him into it, and then goes begging to Lizzie for help. It’s a relentless cycle, but he does it, because he’s good at it. And he also gets paid for it. He somehow keeps on meeting tech-people.

Jimmy:

Helps Joel with his heists because Joel claims they’re related somehow and therefore he has to. He can be a bit un-confident or over-confident at times but has a geniunely good aim with guns and mechanical-crossbows. And bombs. Joel’s not allowed to use bombs anymore so he makes Jimmy do it, and then throws a bunch himself. He somehow keeps on meeting the tech people Joel meets.

hey is there any particular Qi story you wish existed but can't/don't want to write for some reason. Asking for a friend

yeah im always thinking about his friendship with mint and his relationship with his parents. depending on how long my fic gets through the 'story' of the assistant and qi that exists in my head (my barely uncontained lust) they might wind up meeting qis parents and grandfather but as a person hes very focused on the present moment and doesnt like talking much about himself which leads to questions about his upbringing.

he describes himself as a child as 'aloof' (which i think is jsut qi code for being a normal kid not focused on scientific achievement) and we see him smiling in his pictures. it seems like he's had a pretty positive upbringing with two parents who really love eachother, but he sort of... talks down to them? sometimes in a way thats almost classist (he refers to his parents work area [or their home? idk] as a 'fishing-shack') and rude (criticizing their enjoyment of their profession in a way he doesnt understand or "unoptimized") and its like. the way he talks about his grandfather and the way he talks about his parents are very different. Mint never brings up his mom and dad, but brings up his grandpa. so, like, whats going on there? were his parents absent a lot on fishing trips?

chances are he has a good relationship with his parents. hes canonically confirmed to write them AT LEAST about events important to his life (he mentions telling them when he starts dating you, his 3.14%) so it doesnt seem unhealthy. and he is generally pretty tone deaf and i dont really think hes fully cognizant of the nuances of him talking down on his parents. i doubt its one of active resentment but like dude its so unsexy of you the way you talk about your mom and dad im bone dry over here

i think about qi and mint reflecting on their shared childhood semi frequently as suggested by some of their reflections on it in fwb:mwrm. qi goes through a lot of changes through his canonical 'character arc' and he starts putting more effort into his social responsibilities and it makes me wonder like...

-Mint is very family oriented in portia, having had none growing up in the orphanage and craving the opportunity to start one, where as qi seems to be pretty flippant about his up until he gets married and has a family of his own. does that ever create any difficulties between them? Would Qi talk about his parents the same way infront of mint?

-When do you think Qi really changed his mindset from aloofness to his now very progress oriented track of mind? did it impact their relationship at all?

-Mint and Qi both confirm that they remember the old creations they made together. how does seeing qi realize some of what they'd discussed change their relationship?

i like their friendship. i see them like distant siblings i guess. i can't see myself writing anything devoted to it outside of fwb but i feel like qi has a lot of intricacies that people dont pay attention to. his relationship with mint is clearly very important to him even if he has an ...interesting way of showing it (mint breaks his equipment and he's barely mad, bronco touches his equipment and he'll 'never forgive him') and thus the builders/his partners relationship with mint is probably also pretty important. and mints relationship with his kid if he ever has one ('uncle mint' is a VERY cute idea).

i also love the idea of him going to a festival with the builder. any of them. ohhhhh i just know he'd fucking love winning at the prophunt one

Hahaha okay... completely unrelated but ....I freaking LOVE the power in the Waka Kotahi campaigns, and I mean both the posters and the video ads! they are so impactful, dark, but impactful. They were a fabulous example given in one of our lectures. I appreciate the way different components can come together for example image and text, no mater how simple, to be impactful. This is ultimately and ideally what I'm going to try to achieve. Whatever my media outputs are. ( I say whatever they are... but I do have an idea :) ).

Audience

So basically what I'm wanting to achieve is to raise awareness (hopefully in an effective way) on how coeliac is serious and should be taken seriously. I'm going to attempt at eliminating the sigma and in doing this by targeting a younger audience who are generally more oblivious or simply unaware that coeliac even exists, let alone is actually serious and to be taken with more than just a pinch of salt. young people still have to grow up so there is time for them to learn and pass that knowledge on. the knowledge I put out there will best true and not misinformed and gathered from credible and reliable sources.

on a general scope, I want my audience to be anyone who hasn't heard of coeliac , but primarily, I want my audience to be for young people generation Z who are in uni and pre-uni post-uni young adults who may be unknowingly surrounded by their peers who have coeliac. As a reference point (or a guide if your will) i will be using my three flatmates as a sample of my audience. All three of them fit to the age demographic and knowing absolutely nothing on the topic of coeliac, in fact one of them even said "isn't that like a wheat intolerance thing?". I am going to draw on their lack of knowledge and awareness, essentially guiding my project to present to them, and fulfil the aim to bring a general awareness and understanding on the issues presented with coeliac.

There are some pretty amazing already existing creations out there regarding coeliac awareness. Im not really leaning towards video as my media format, I do enough of that in my film papers and my skills are a bit lacking at this point in my film journey that I don't feel confident venturing down that road just yet, however, there is an amazing coeliac video by Hayley Repton on Vimeo called Glutened and it does a fanatic job at displaying coeliac disease. this short video is "A rhythmic short film which expresses the impact everyday life has on a newly diagnosed coeliac, and how she discovers her own tempo."

Because coeliac is hard to direct visually in a creative way there isn't many media out puts out there like Glutened. I feel that it is way more affective to absorb visual information than written information, especially in regards to health related topics. I'm interested in photography, it is something I enjoy (I'm not much good at it but this might be an opportunity to practice) it might be a matter of approaching this topic in a contemporary way in terms of visual representation of ideas that otherwise have none.

YouTube has some great resources as well! the below videos are informative in a fun way and are done by YouTuber Morgan Mckenzie Moore. Absolutely brilliant and entertaining. I think the content in her "Stop Saying This" video is very relevant and making people aware of some of these things is the first step in changing the stigma and the misunderstandings.

I think I just like the idea that photography or poster campaigns are fast and quick to taken in an this could be more effective that a video that you're needing to know what to search for to even begin, whereas you could be casually walking past a shop window and see a poster on something you may have never thought to look up. I know this has its controversial issues as well, in terms of s seeing something you just didn't want to see but because it was up in a space that is unavailable like a bus stop, you are therefore forced in a way to look at something. anyways...

This has been Pinterest contribution, I like the idea of the poster but again I think there are way to many medical posters out there and while they're great, I want to make something a little more interesting and different. if I make something different, this might spark some interest in the viewer to learn more or simply take away what they learnt in the moment. I like the idea that a poster will have something impactful and fast to say visually but then with a mention or a direction to a follow up to something like a video or a podcast or a news article etc.

My moms fight is my fight really stood out to me as this is relatable to my angle and its how I'm positioned to care about coeliac as it is something ive grown up around. I like the idea of simple image combining to make a bigger meaning or announcement. I ended up finding images that I thought were decent enough representations of Coeliac or in relation to that idea... sort of like a mini visual mind Map. Here is a sample...

Another point to mention as stated in previous post is that coeliac often considered a disability and I know there is some extra help with that. Diagnostic delays and treatment challenges in children with coeliac disease: The New Zealand Coeliac Health Survey.

The purpose of this study was to examine the symptoms, diagnosis delays, and management challenges of Coeliac disease (CD) in children. The study utilized the New Zealand Coeliac Health Survey and focused on children under the age of 16. I found an academic article, Epidemiology of coeliac disease, that provides a review of the latest epidemiological information on coeliac disease globally. The review concentrates mainly on the prevalence of the disease among adults, as there has been a decline in infant cases that has been offset by an increase in cases among older children and adults.

I also noticed that there seems to be a larger focus on woman with coeliac an it seems to be more common in women and this would be interesting to explore further why that might be the case, even if there is no research done on that. also if there is any importance emphasising the word women in a lot of cases because I know one of the podcasts I explore was the diagnosis story of an Australian man who has coeliac disease. I feel as though this is an imprint point as it could influence who my target audience is, or not, but anyhow, food for thought.

Mozart: Apollo

Son of the God of light, of sun, of music, of truth, of poetry, and arts. May not be a leader but set trends. I will start with the most obvious fact and that is Mozart’s talent for music, as all of us know Apollo’s children are exceptional for the arts in general. Mozart is not someone that tends to laugh frequently but as a good children of Apollo, you can hear the sound of what it could be beautiful Bells when he does, and a smile as warm as the sun. Because of his prolonged time on practicing he sometimes has little to none sunlight, that makes him really moody (more than he already is) so taking some walks or playing with Schelm in the garden are necessary for his health even if he claims to not need it.

Not all of Apollo’s children are blond, some of them have physical traits that are related to the sun such as freckles, warm skin subtones, and even if their hair is black if you see it in the sun light you can see a golden or brownish reflection on their hair, in Mozart’s case if we see carefully there’s also warm subtones such as beige, and pink :

Because of Mozart’s incredible fair skin it’s easy for him to get freckles. Apollo’s children are lie detectors, as they say, you cannot cover the sun with your thumb, Mozart knows from miles away when someone is lying.

Apollo’s children are scary when they get mad, be aware of what they could do when they lose control, just like Mozart, it may seem like he’s always angry but he actually isn’t, when he’s angry you will know.

Apollo’s kids are naturally over dramatic, they turn everything into inspiration for music, plays, etc. remember that time when Mozart said that dry things like cookies are his “worst enemy”? Just because Marie Antoinette gave him a bunch of them, he didn’t know what to do and decided it was a good idea to stuff everything in his mouth...

Isaac: Athena

Goddess of wisdom, handicraft, knowledge and warfare. Children of Athena are gifted with a sharp and brilliant mind. Do I have to say more ? Isaac is a genius, he has an incredible hunger for knowledge, and curiosity that makes him discover the most incredible things in this world. Children of Athena enjoy reading a good book and most of the time you can see them lost in their thoughts.

We know that Athena’s children can be street smart and book smart, the majority likes to be street smart since they already have a facility to keep info from books, but in the case of our apple boy he’s chosen to be book smart, this kind of children tend to have difficulties to relate to others and create deep bonds since their brilliant minds make them feel detached from the world that surrounds them.

Napoleon : Zeus

Charismatic

Natural leaders

Children of Zeus are the leaders struggling with the pressure of being leaders. Since they are such a reliable people, their friends usually seek for them when they need help, maybe they are not as wise as a child of Athena, but their empathy makes them good advisers too. They’re strong and resilient.

Serious but yet humorous

Assertive

Children of Zeus are prideful, they like to tease others but when the tables turn they don’t really know how to react (not like they are doormats but more like in a teasing way something like pikachu face: “you ... you just teased the son of the lightening.. right in front of my salad” that kind of reaction. It’s actually kind of cute 😂

They can be flighty or warm, depends of the person they are dealing with and their mood.

God of wine, madness, ecstasy and theatre

Children of Dionysus are sociable, charismatic and the life of the party. The ones with all the connections. They’re the friend that everyone references when they say ‘I know a guy’ and we all know that Arthur knows or at least recognizes a lot of faces in Paris.

Children of Dionysus are not only party people, they are really clever too, people usually don’t give them credit for how smart they really are, but they prefer to keep that intelligence hidden ‘cause they don’t want to intimidate anyone, after all the party needs to continue !

They are the ones you can always count on to have a good time. The best telling jokes and reading the atmosphere of a room. they are the ones you call when you’re upset and just want to forget about reality for a night.

Stubborn, determined and chaotic nature.

Most of Dionysus children are empaths, that’s how they can feel the mood so well and make everyone have a good time, nevertheless if they don’t have a control over this ability it can be bad for their health, appropriating other people's problems or feeling guilty if they cannot help their friends as a good “host” would do.

Another thing, Arthur really seems to enjoy alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, etc. besides coffee.

Talking about physical traits Dionysus children rock semi long hair, this chill and laid back appearance is the signature of the god of party and wine. Even when they wear formal clothes you can see this relaxed look on them.

I remember one time I read a post where it said that Dionysus children often have the nicest shoes in the room (idk why? 😂) BUT DUDE that’s true, there was also other post where you guys were talking about who had the best taste in shoes and guess who was one of the best fashionistas 👌👌😂

Also, olive undertones, in hair, skin, etc. if we see Arthur’s hair for example, sometimes it doesn’t appear to be entirely blue, it also has olive undertones:

God of the underworld

Talking about children of hades we can see that they are not only the “quiet ones” but also people with a sharp intuition. They observe everything and everyone, quietly. Tend to hold grudges and feel out of place, they stay a lot of time inside their heads and because of this children of hades usually have a hard time finding their “meaning in life” or “their place in this world”. Since they are deep they have a difficult time relating to others, meanwhile everyone is talking about the trends of the year, children of Hades are in other Chanel .

They like to be by their own, or maybe with someone that actually understands them.

I think most of the time people only focus on their “dark personality” and forget to appreciate other traits like the incredible willpower that they have to achieve anything that attracts their attention.

Physically talking, as we all know, children of Hades have dark tones in their hair, eyes and skin tone. There’s something cold in their appearance that makes them look intimidating and mysterious

Vincent : Apollo

Do I really need to explain this one ? 😂😂

I will just cover some facts that relate to Apollo’s children since Vincent is like the PERFECT example of what is being an Apollo’s child.

I think Vincent has a BIG potential to learn any instrument that he likes, also archery but I doubt it since he wouldn’t like to hurt anyone.

Is easy for Children of Apollo to tan, just imagine our angel with a beautiful sexy tan 🙌🏻😫✨

also, Apollo’s children are healers, and Vincent wants not only to help but if possible heal everyone’s suffer, as we can see in his route, he wants to help MC with her anxiety to return to her time nevertheless he’s never too pushy and waits until MC feels prepared to open up to him.

Apollo’s children are people pleasers, in a mini drama, Vicent tells Leonardo that if there was a girl in the mansion he wouldn’t know how to behave, since he only wants to give a good impression.

Leonardo : Hephaestus

Children of Hephaestus , Their minds are constantly working on something and their ideas running wild.

They have SO many ideas that they have dozens of project running AT THE SAME TIME, they can even compete with children of Athena.

Some of this children may not be geniuses but out of their curiosity and hunger for knowledge is because they can become worthy opponents to the other god or goddesses children.

Masters on none, but master of many.

They also got that freaking cheeky smile of their father.

Physically talking children of Hephaestus have strength in their upper body, just like their father, they have enough strength in their hands, arms and back to carry or forge any metal and turn it into a weapon (or any creation but you get me) what usually makes them have (on males) big shoulders or backs and in females, they have shorter but stronger fingers.

Children of Aphrodite have charm speak, Idk you but every time Comte speaks is like velvet for my ears. Most of the time people only see Aphrodite’s children as superficial, not so intelligent and unnecessary at battle but they are dead wrong, actually they are really observant and can be manipulative since they understand and almost feel others people emotions and intentions.

Even though their mother is the Goddess of Love, they can hide their emotions pretty well

It is known that Aphrodite’s children can speak fluently French and Oh look at that Comte is French, coincidence ? I DONT THINK SO.

Theo: Ares

God of war

Children of Ares are topically seen as this really short-tempered guy /girl but there’s more about them. I’m gonna start with the basic personality traits, Children of Ares are stubborn as hell, does it reminds you of Theo ? 😅 they are also really protective of those they love, it may not appear like it but they don’t like injustice, so when they see someone that’s being a jerk they fight with everything they got, sometimes they exaggerate tho.

HATES GOSSIP they like to say thing straight to the point and don’t have filter, sometimes they may seem rude but they are just saying the truth

Doesn’t take shit from anyone

Determinant and never gives up, they also give (its rare but they do) advices when they see you really struggling with something, an example of this could be when (in Leo’s route) MC had a hard time deciding what to choose between staying in 19th century France or coming back to her time with Leo, to what Theo noticed her struggling and gave her a brief but nice advice.

HARD ON THE OUTSIDE SOFT ON THE INSIDE

Children of Ares are aware that they intimidate their siblings, that’s why they become silent and prefer to stay in their cabin, but if you want them to open up to you, a nice smile and kind personality would be a great combo to go with them.

Dionysus has parties where everyone dances and can fall into madness and ecstasy. Dazai is a sensual man, he has this aura that is just so appealing and comfortable to be with, but he is still a mystery, just like his father. Dyonisus was a god that usually doesn’t get in other’s people problems but it is known that he has a lot of powers, and the majority remains a mystery to humans.

Dazai is someone that craves to feel and be loved, but is scared to be rejected for who he really is, instead of that he prefers to show the “clown facade” that everyone likes, after all is easier to have “company” in a party full of people that you don’t know but they don���t really care about you than opening up to someone and being vulnerable.

People usually describe children of Dionysus as “crazy”

They are normally underestimated, but they have an incredible ability for the arts, they create the most crazy yet deep monologues.

These people tend to get obsessed over things they like, this is somewhat bad for them since they can get addicted to things like alcohol, tobacco, etc.

Talking about physical traits, Dazai is like the perfect definition of a Dionysus child, chill appearance, medium long hair, PURPLE HAIR, likes (maybe a little too much) alcohol, smooth voice.

Sebastian : Demeter

Goddess of agriculture, fertility, nature, and seasons.

Children of Deméter have this motherly figure in their group of friends.

Natural protectors.

Great cooks

They can be really strict at scolding their friends, family etc. but they just want the best for their loved ones.

Goddess of chance, fate and fortune.

I really had a hard time deciding for this one, and I don’t know a lot about him but from what I’ve seen I can say he’s a Tyche’s child.

Children of Tyche are extremely friendly and enthusiastic.

I really dont know why they want Scott to be a murderer so badly considering like... wouldnt that make them like him more? If he was a killer? Just based on who their faves are.

To understand them, you have to understand one crucial fact: they’re not using deductive reasoning.  This is when an observer looks at what happened on the screen, recognizes the context, and draws from that evidence a general conclusion.   When you look at the show, you see a sixteen-year-old assault victim turned into a creature of the night against his will, given new aggressive urges and heavy responsibilities he never asked for, and placed in a world where adults constantly try to use him for their own ends.  When we watch him not only refuse to succumb to their manipulations and expectations but instead rise above them, we say, looking at the evidence, “Well that’s the hero protagonist of the show!”

They’re using bastardized inductive reasoning.  They have started with a specific premise -- Scott McCall should not have been the hero protagonist of the show -- and then find or manufacture affirmation of that conclusion.  They’re only interested in what serves their initial position, and if the evidence doesn’t exist, they’ll make it up.  

That’s why they can argue in one breath that Scott was a terrible, horrible person for wanting to kill Peter after Derek told him that killing the alpha was the only way to be cured, but in the next breath scold him for refusing to execute Gerard, a man confined to a wheelchair in a dingy facility and coughing up black gunk for at least 18 months. That’s why they can not only take Scott hesitating to leave Allison alone in Restraint as a sign of utter depravity because he should immediately have jumped to Erica’s assistance, no matter how many times she had attacked Scott and his friends on Derek’s orders, but also take him to task for his incredibly dangerous naivete in not casting Theo out on Stiles’s gut feeling when, as Scott so clearly put it, “no one’s done anything wrong.”    It’s why they can argue that Scott was fucking stupid for letting Deucalion go free (when it was both Derek and Scott and there was no indication that they could have beaten Deucalion anyway) but at the same time state that he was a cruel tyrant for putting Peter in Eichen House  (when there was no indication that Scott was the one to make that decision and how did a teenage boy get an adult man committed to a mental healthy facility anyway?).   

The context of these actions really doesn’t matter to them, especially if that context obstructs their desired conclusion, so they’ll discard it if necessary.  The fact that they can hold entirely contradictory positions doesn’t matter to them either, especially when they can use them in vicious anonymous rants, as long as their desired end is achieved.

Let’s take Scott’s imaginary “No Killing” rule, which was never a rule Scott held.  They use this fandom creation to make him a hypocrite when he wasn’t, and to make him ineffective when he wasn’t.  

Scott never had a “no killing” rule.  He refused to allow Derek to kill Lydia or Jackson in Season 2 because neither of them had consented or planned to become a monstrous killer lizard and whichever one of them was the kanima was under the control of a Master as well.  He refused to let Noshiko, Derek,  Chris, or even himself kill Stiles in Season 3, because Stiles was possessed unwillingly by a nogitsune.  He objected to the death of Donovan Donati because he had learned -- along with anyone who had actually watched the show -- that when victims had been transformed by the Dread Doctors into chimera they would often go on homicidal rampages.   Scott didn’t want to kill victims -- he said as much often -- and it was out of empathy for other people who were placed in the same position that he had been.  He also didn’t want to kill people who had been defeated, when they weren’t in any immediate position to hurt others.

Yet, when it came to killing villains and self-determined monsters who intended to hurt others?  Scott didn’t have a problem with it.   He threatened both Gerard and Jennifer Blake with death if they took actions that endangered other people.  When going to confront Kate Argent and her berserkers in Orphaned (4x06) and Chris Argent pulled out an assault rifle, he literally said “I’m okay with that.”   He didn’t complain about Satomi, Chris, Braeden, or Derek using lethal weapons against human beings in the battle against the rogue hunters.   In that fight, too, he used his claws and full strength, and the climax of that fight was when he had to pull himself back from killing a downed opponent.  In the end, he didn’t hesitate to hurl the Pike through the disembodied La Bete, did he?  

There was never a “no killing” rule.  There was no killing victims or executing beaten opponents rule.  Isn’t that what we want in a leader?  In a hero?  He was placed in a position when it would have been easy to kill helpless people in order to make himself and those he loved safe, when it would have been easy to bring deadly judgment on those who hurt him and tried to enslave him, but he refrained.  Isn’t that what we want in a leader?  In a hero?

It is obviously my thing that I point out that their initial premise is racist.  The reason they want to prove  their conclusion is that they wanted a white hero.  You know how I know this?  Because other characters held the same beliefs as Scott and no one hates them.  It’s Lydia who said “we’re not executioners.”  Stiles and his father hated Peter Hale for what he did.   Sheriff Stilinski stressed out over the deaths of chimeras just as much as Scott did.  Sheriff Stilinski believed in and trusted Theo, even giving him a big old hug, even after Stiles warned the Sheriff about him, too.   It’s only the Latino who is denigrated for having morals. Derek complained to Peter that “we’ve found another way.”  But none of them are hated for the contradictions they were put in.  I can only conclude that  there’s another reason that they didn’t want Scott as hero.

It’s not as though Natalie Green knew what this year held in store or what would exist at the end of the road. Though, at every step of the way, he kept going. Embodied in both his music and his story of perseverance, is a rare example of an artistic soul that found peace where few would ever dream to look. It took months of learning and continued questioning of himself and what he wanted to be. But in the end, it resulted in a man anew.

With a new project taking shape in studio sessions that contrast his earlier life, Natalie Green is finding a voice he previously was nervous to share, speaking louder than before. The ideas, memoirs and anxieties he hopes to express have become clear. With every note, he continually finds himself as much as he does connect to those who battle the same confusions.

Natalie Green now stands with a new asset he hadn’t held prior, the ability to embark on the path he wants, not the one life throws him upon. He can stand and become the artist he visualizes, the artist he knows is essential to reveal to the world. For the first time in a while, Natalie Green is in control, with a steering wheel in hand and a road of possibility on the horizon.

Our first question as always, how’s your day going and how are you?

Things have been hectic, but good. Good busy you know? There are different kinds of busy and this one has been all positive.

On your last EP last year, it sounded like you weren’t fully at peace, do you find that you are now after a year of personal introspection?

Yeah for sure, when I was writing the EP, I was in a really terrible place physically, emotionally and mentally. It was a passion project when it came out, I didn’t have to think about it. Whereas now, I’ve got a place, I’m not just in my car anymore, I emotionally feel a lot more centered, I have my head on straight. I’ve found friends and people that I love to surround myself with. Everything’s been a thousand times better.

When you’re looking within this shift you’ve undertaken, where do you think you’ve personally grown the most, whether artistically or as an individual?

I think I’ve gotten more empathetic towards people. All people. As well, I feel more self-aware. What I realized when living in my car was that I didn’t know myself. Living in a house again with roommates made me, in a new way, learn more about myself, and where I needed to spend a lot of time mentally. As far as musically, I feel more confident, I think that’s apparent in my vocals and instrumentation, they’re far more personal in that sense.

With the new year in season, being a time of reflecting upon the past year, do you have any memories that stick out to you as positive through the difficult and turbulent times?

There’s a lot. I don’t know if there’s one specific moment, but definitely moving into the apartment. I also got to play a private show in my friend’s backyard for all my close friends. That was a big moment for me. There’s a lot of moments where I had friends reassure me, and believe in me when I wasn’t doing so myself. One of my best friends from back home came to live here a little while ago, that was really special to have him back. The whole tour with Roy, of course, was inspiring, to see him do all that and becoming closer to everyone I went on tour with will forever be in my memories.

With that tour, and even more so working on Cat Heaven, happening while you were working on your own projects, did they influence the way you approached your new work?

There are certain things I learn from other people I can implement in my own music later. There will be something I’ll figure out while I’m working with someone, be it a sound or a new style, I can kinda pull out later. A lot of it is just talking to others and learning their inspirations and how that reflects in their music. Then turning and comparing that to my own influences and seeing how I do the same. It’s all just inspiration.

To touch on that idea of inspiration, you’ve mentioned in the past how you have a wide range on influences in your life in terms on music, but in the last year, which artists have really been influencing the work you’re putting out?

There’s been a lot of really great artists I just got into this past year-ish, but a big one is Michelle Zauner, who’s the singer for Japanese Breakfast. I’m hugely inspired by her, the fact she directs her own music videos and does all her own creative output, it’s really amazing. I’ve also loved the movies of Michel Gondry and the writing of Charlie Kaufman, anything they work on is amazing and so intoxicating.

With this new album you’re ramping up to release, has there been a difference in approach to how you wrote songs and lyrics? And how does that process look like?

I mean it’s been different for almost every song, I tried to do the album the same way I did the EP, and it wasn’t working right. Every song I wrote just felt lacklustre or the same. So to change it up, I had to change my methods, like the first song I wrote, I did two guitar parts first and then I sang, then produced over. That is very different to the EP which was songs first then lyrics. There are certain songs where before I recorded, I had a guitar riff and just wrote the song in a very traditional way, just chords and singing. Maybe loops would be first at times, and then they’d be built off of. Everything has been different.

It’s interesting because it sounds like you’ve really been adding more to your skill set as an artist, would you say that if you had a tool belt of music, that you’ve been adding towards it in the last while?

Yeah, definitely. I’ve been doing that my whole life honestly. I started in bands, not knowing how to produce or anything, but I could play guitar and from then I learned the bass just to add of that. Then I learned production, and that is forever useful. Now I’m working more to be an artist and learn what that entails and requires. Every time I learn something new I really take that and hold onto it until needed.

If you could create your ideal music creation space, where would it be and how would it look like?

That’s interesting, It would really just need to be a secluded place. A place I could disappear and a place I could be as loud as I want as late as I want. No interruptions, all the equipment I needed. Some food, drinks and a bathroom, that’s all I need.

Over the year you’ve posted some concerts you went to, like Paramore in the summer. Are there other shows you saw live that really had an impact upon you and maybe changed the way you approach live shows yourself?

Well, of course, the tour with Roy, he’s been super inspiring in general and watching the man work is amazing. He has a lot of fantastic ideas and he goes through with them. I saw Daisy as well, and they’re so good live. Solange was also amazing with her stage design and her choreography. I also saw Soccer Mommy pretty recently, and it wasn’t too extravagant but it was so well done and exciting to see as a fan of the music.

When you’re on stage, even something like the backyard show you mentioned earlier, what’s the emotion you’re trying to achieve and what is the mindset that you find yourself within at that moment?

When I played that private show, I realized all my songs were pretty mellow and hard to dance or move to. All except for Beachwood didn’t translate very well. So with this new project, I want them to translate really well live, to feel energetic, to feel lively. The songs are just fun. But I keep that emotion in and make sure that I don’t lose what made the earlier work so special and important.

What’s been the overall message you’re trying to pursue this new work and what is it you’re hoping to convey?

I kinda just want to tell my story. Or a story of mine. If people learn things from that, its great, but I’m just saying what happened in my experience. What I realized is that there’s a lot of shitty things that happened to me in my life, but the truth is that things could be a lot worse, so far they’ve been pretty good for the most part. While I had those tough days, I’m still here kicking it.

I apologize if it’s a repeated question, but with the topic of your story, what’s the meaning behind the stage name you’ve taken upon yourself?

It is and it isn’t part of my story in a way. A big part of that choice was that I wanted to separate myself from my old name and work. I wanted this to be super new. The name is taken from two names of people I am very inspired by. And it also, to me, sounds like the quintessential hot girl from a high school, the girl in the coming of age movie they all go after.

If you had a message to artists out there who may find themselves in the same space as you have previously found yourself within, those who may feel as unsure, what would be your lesson to pass on?

I think it doesn’t matter if you’re as confident or as talented as you want to be, as long as you recognize what sounds good to you, just put out the song. It doesn’t matter if you think your voice was bad, just keep progressing as an artist. If you wait for that progression you’ll never put stuff out, you’ll never be happy. With whatever you have right now, just start putting something, anything, out.

Why I like them

Well, as an engineer how could I not love a genius technitian? 😍😍😍

And speaking of MCU's Tony Stark, I think it was a great choice to choose someone older for the role. Originally he was very young, but these days anyone knows that to achieve such level of knowledge would require huge amounts of study and practice, and thus, it would be achieved later in life (in case it was possible at all haha), so at least he doesn't look 22 as if he just finished uni! I think it adds credibility to the character.

He has the attitude of the gryffiest gryffi to ever gryffi and I have to admit that I love him for it (or at least I do once he comes back down to earth in the first movie and stops selling weapons for his own profit).

His character evolution is just ARGH❤️💛

He goes from completely deluded to awakening, step by step and it's a complete delight to see. He has a mission now. He's seen the weapons, the warfield for what it is. He wants to do good or at least bwtter with what he has. And better. And better every time. He He's determined to make it and he will push himself to the very limit for it. He makes mistakes, yes,as big has he makes his successes, but he keeps learning from them. Technology or life, he can't stop learning about them, making himself see things he never thought he would, understand things in a way he never thought he could. He's the epithome of improvement.

In other words, he's not perfect at all and that gives the character a lot of depth: he has many layers.

And he has a cool AI (I mean Jarvis. I love Jarvis so much tbh.).

Oh, and his fiancee. I like his fiancee very much too. No (yes), but the reason I brought this up is to say that he's all fluff inside and bless him.

Why I don’t

As much as I love him, there are so many things I don't like about him, I warn you.

If I had met him before I would have wanted to strangle the guy. Not just for Tony "the guy", but his company. As someone who does not want any military, defense, weaponary, etc., his creations are the devil. Notice I said are and not were, because he still makes weapons even if he's not selling them the same way.

The logic behind "I don't sell these weapons bc god knows what the military would do with them, but hey I'm gonna keep building some to use them myself ignoring every law bc I'm a filthy rich motherfucker and I do what I want, try to come and stop me if you can haha"? There is so much wrong with this I could write an essay 😅 But I don't give much relevance to these things when it comes to superhero stuff tbh, so I can deal. But yeah, horribly wrong if taken seriously.

What else? Well, on a personal level: communication, baby. You need some serious help with that. Relationships, connecting with your feelings and all that stuff. So much room for improvement there, mate (not that I don't feel you tho).

He also needs to work out some sort of limit for his addiction aka his work/creations/mission. It's not just in very unhealthy levels (mentally and physically) for himself, but also for those around him when he loses himself to it.

And I know I'm forgetting stuff, but this seems to be enough, I'll stop here haha

Unpopular opinion

Idk which is the popular opinion or not bc I don't interact in that fandom... I can't think of anything "unpopular" to say about him, but maybe a general opinion I have that I don't think is said often enough.

I feel like if a character does some good, their bad actions get completely overlooked or excused in some way as if in "he saved many, who cares if he had previously hurt just as many?" Not talking about weapons now.

Just a reminder that if someone is being mean is not funny. If they are mocking someone with a disability is not ok. If the person is being paid by them it's still shit behaviour. If someone does any of these, they're assholes. Period.

One doesn't need to be an asshole full-time, it's ok. One can still be an asshole tho, part-time. But that shouldn't mean one doesn't get called out. Saving the world does not mean Tony Stark shouldn't be called on his bullshit. Just that.

So the last few days were a fuckin nonch for animation. Helped my sister shop a bit for college yesterday, and spent the day before that looking at a ton of stuff about the Note 9 bc its about time for my mum n I to upgrade phones, and I really want something to help me practice color and composition on the fly (and trying in general to create more or less finished pieces bc holy shit I’ve lost that ability). Parentheses relevant because I finally resolved tonight to all nighter or die. This is partly because I agreed to meet a friend for brunch at the overpriced cafe we hella like, as a reward for going hard on studying/working (we’re both about a 2/10 here, funnily enough on his end because he’s normally a powerhouse). 

It’s also partly because I more or less got closure with a hella close friend that I’ve stopped talking to, where before we’d talked for like 5+ years or so about series creation and all sorts of stuff about life; basically we’re still not talking for real, but now less with ambiguous tension and more or less with each other’s blessing to achieve our overarching life goals, as we were sort of distracting each other from doing so. A lot of “more or lesses” in that last titan of a sentence, but it was a rather funky scenario. Even his final statements were mixed as hell in tone, but I looked past that as his general tendencies to just respect that he overcame his bad habit of never getting to the point about a personal relationship. I hope we talk again, when we’ve realized our dreams. It was funny though, because he initially sent a mini paragraph out of the blue with a pretty conclusive feel, and I sent one to acknowledge his content and my own final thoughts, but then he instantly reflexively started just debating my definitions and understandings of stuff and we fell into our usual conversation rhythm before going wait no. My sister called us dumb about this. I really agree with her but for once I legitimately see what we saw beyond this. It’s good to have a friend that cares about you in a greater scope beyond regular conversation or chilling, though of course both kinds are important. I’m still sad about the idea of not talking, but the number of things I’ve realized and grown out of in the few months we spent apart pretty clearly show the necessary aspects of it. Anyway enough about that. My work now is truly what matters.

This logically should be the post where I discuss a bit more about Celestialvania, but my resolve to all nighter actually got me into a bunch of high school old feeling habits that I’ve sorely missed, nearly all related to productivity and real grinds. I want to realize this all nighter, instead of repeating my greatest flaw. Taking a break that ends up turning the beginning of a finally successful attempt into an utter failure. That was a bit vaguely worded. Like, I get myself to try really hard at something, and I finally crack a bit of my total inability to try hard at things, and even if the achievement’s small it just gives me so much happiness and relief that I don’t actually ever get back to it and continue it. Then that just means in my total actual time spent, all I did was this one tiny thing instead of the actual achievement. Now that I think about it my friend actually pretty much called me out on exactly this yesterday as one of the main signs I’ve lost sight of stuff in general. Man. Should follow my own practice and actually hop back to work now. 

Rediscovered good habits:

Sacrifice poofy hair in mornings by showering and then just sitting at desk instead of lying down in bed. Feeling clean and being in clean comfy clothes help me settle into my desk and combat my legendarily infamous (to myself) restlessness. Restlessness is how I usually dont even get to make my biggest mistake/flaw. Seeing something bad after a few moments of effort discourages me and I feel compelled to leave the work area. Comfiness and settling down helps me not stress out (bu yao ji) and surely but steadily work forward. It also helps combat impulsiveness and blind ramming in favor of thought and actual problem solving, which I completely lost sight of by trying to just willpower my way into being good at art (in the bad way). So yeah comfiness factors are nice clothes, and most importantly KEEP MY FAN ON like holy crap idk what it is with energy consumption and self defeating behaviors for me but for some reason keeping the fan on stresses me out about power, and in addition to it keeping me actually comfy it reminds me that something else beyond my body is powering my productivity, I can’t let it go to waste. I guess it’s a sort of externalization or visualization of my decision to spend time in this way. Partly also because it’s like flowy right, so it feels like movement in a way, I guess?

This helps me combat the other part, which I kinda already said about restlessness. This was always my worst flaw though, as it happens both when I mildly succeed or fail at something. Learning to just stay the fuck put, like with piano practice as a kid or homework in my first 2 years of high school, really always trained me because no matter what you’re trying to make a career or genuine quality, whether you enjoy it or not, you’re going to have moments of difficulty. Two parting tenets. One was this incredible craftsman who described his experience with a Japanese woodcarver before their passing, who gave a quote from him about hobbyists only doing a thing when they like to do it, as opposed to craftsman. In the same line, I recently thought about how what a passion really means is how much you still commit to doing something when you’re absolutely sure you fucking hate it. Though that could be really taken in the opposite way too. I’ve felt this for a long time, but I need to reach the point where I would rather do literally anything else in the world than continue being strapped to my chair doing art. Because once I hit that point (and then go past it), once I’ve hit rock bottom, will I finally be connected to the foundation of my goals.

They Dont Care About Us!

At what point, do we take matters into our own hands?? How much longer can we pretend these killings aren’t intentional!? We’ve waited patiently, followed the rules, Trusted in a system, that has always been stacked against us. Listened to people in charge constantly telling men and women of color that we are over reacting. But we cant do it anymore!! 

Before Covid happened, there was always the argument that black people and white people fighting for the same rights get treated equally. When we have always known that its never been true. You see, many people would use the argument that well there is more to the story...when ever it comes to the killing of a black man or woman. People of color always getting described as “Thugs, Criminals, Gang Members, Sketchy, and Suspects, Monsters”. Even when they are the victims of murder. Before properly getting the story of what happened to a black victim out, they do background research and try to find the most damning thing about said victim, and they proceed to talk about them in regards to past transgressions in their lives but not about what they were currently doing! If the black victim has ever like most humans, made a mistake and have any form of past criminal history regardless of what. They will refer to the victim as a “former thug” or “former prisoner” “addict” or even better “Suspect” of a supposed recent crime in the area of which the person doesn't fit the description of. 

When white people are victims or even the aggressor in certain situations, they look up the most innocent looking photo, and talk about all the good they accomplished and achieved, they discuss any positive changes they’ve made since their past. And then worry about the well being of the white person. Their colorful past is not made apparent in news immediately. They are deemed innocent until proven guilty, or even when they are guilty allotted lesser penalties than those of their back peers. And even when the obvious is so clear to us, people still insisted that wasn’t the case.

We can only sit back and watch the literal systematic attempt to remove black people and reap the rewards of modern day slavery via Privatized Prisons and illegal and unfair mass incarcerations for so long. They continue to find ways to stiffen us as a people. But no matter what we always prevail. Because we are resilient. We are natural born survivors by your creation. 

According to a Research Study conducted by researchers in California:  The findings, the authors concluded, supported an “epigenetic explanation.” The idea is that trauma can leave a chemical mark on a person’s genes, which then is passed down to subsequent generations. The mark doesn’t directly damage the gene; there’s no mutation. Instead it alters the mechanism by which the gene is converted into functioning proteins, or expressed. The alteration isn’t genetic. It’s epigenetic.

What does all that mean??

Well as more and more genetic research is conducted, we have better understanding of how the human genetic coding works. What traits and such cause and do what? In attempt to find ways to cure other big world issues. Its been found that, any trauma a group or generation of people have experienced goes beyond just topical physical and mental changes. It has been discovered that prolonged exposure to trauma, and terrible living conditions can genetically alter the victims genetic make up which in then passes onto the next generation. 

Black people since the beginning of our time, have always been treated unfairly, less than human, and never given full human rights even til this day. They were made to forget their culture, their names, their religions, and family traditions, their HISTORY! Black people were not allowed to learn, to write, to read, not entitled to proper healthcare, living conditions, food, or, livable wages, equal justice or FREEDOM! So as a People, black people were forced to adapt to less than normal and human conditions to survive. It was the only was to move forward. And it makes the White Man mad! To see that no matter how many roadblocks they put down, we will always find a way. You can’t stop greatness! 

Our DNA is literally coded to survive the worst of the worst. And because of that, we are a Race of People that scares the living light out of white fragile men, and its why they try to scare us, and brake us, and make us feel like we have no choice! Because their biggest fear is one day all of the Black people rising up and taking back a country that by all intent and purposes belongs to Us. We built this Nation. This entire country was built on the blood, sweat and tears of millions and millions of Black men and women, ripped from their homes and everything they knew, stripped from their lives and enslaved, raped, tortured, bred like cattle, and used for entertainment. 

Even hundreds of years later, in a supposed more tolerable world, we are still witness to the very same systems used back then but with a new modern flair to control the Black people. They kill us for sport. They use black men and women pictures for target practice. Still get away with cold blooded murder. Still no true justice. Still being sent with a mere slap on the wrist, if any at all. Its a sad day in history when we as black people have to worry about the most basic of human rights. Like walking in the park, shopping, driving, walking down the street, sitting in your own home have all become reasons why a black person has been killed. Because being born into a color of skin that people hate for no reason isn’t hard enough, because being born into a system that made it such a disadvantage to be a person of color, because working three times as hard to get noticed at work isn’t hard enough, because having biased being made based on my color when i want to buy something nice isn’t hard enough, but now you are telling me waking up and hoping that Today isn’t your day to die by the hands of those sworn to protect us. 

We were strong before you, we come from Kings and Queens. We come from the original people, with wealth, health and education. But you then tried to brake us and only made us Stronger. We are Faster, Bigger, Stronger, Smarter, More Versatile, and Best of all We Adapt to our surroundings. We are Fearless warriors. Our DNA was forced to teach its new generation to have a heightened sense of self and awareness, an innate need to strive for better, for more by any means necessary. We are Hustlers. You gave us the will to keep pushing forward because you've already put us through the worse. Our ancestors sacrificed and dealt with so much so we can make their deaths not be in vain. 

Now is the time we have to do something. Enough is Enough. You don’t have to care about us. We will care about us. We will do whats right, we will fight for justice and we will continue to raise Strong men and women. Who will always know the truth, we wont hide your lies anymore. We wont pretend its not happening. That moment for quiet and patience is over. The moment a cop and his fellow cop mates can openly murder an innocent black man that was not restricting arrest and pleading for his life on camera without as much as a flinch or worry. Is the moment we have to stop playing nice. 

Back in the day, cops even the dirty ones, would do their dirt privately, or go out of their way to not be recorded or audio to be heard. It wasn’t right, but they tried to hide it. Today, we have cops and people who in broad day light in front of many watching will openly murder and take the life of a person of color and not feel any source of remorse, show any concern for human life. We need to call it what it was, it was Intentional murder. He was never trying to arrest that man, his goal from the beginning was to take that mans life. The cop enjoyed it and didn’t let up, and his friends watched and supported this blatant act of careless and unnecessary murder. If they are no longer hiding their true intentions and the world is now seeing whats happening finally. Then if the peaceful way didn’t work...its about time We Do Something About IT!

Things that happens in a Loss: 1.) The One Leaving. (Loss of Moses to take a step on the promised Land.) - Of all the people, why moses? Yes i could say the israelites deserved not to see the promise land because of their disobedience, but Moses? He was a leader devoted to God. I didnt find the reason why someone like moses, who had only one mistake was already forbidden to see tge promise land?! I mean come on! The israelites had more than dozen of mistakes, yet God was merciful for the new generation to see it. But Moses? No! You arent allowed to see the promise land? It might have thought provoked at first but one thing that amazed me was that Moses did not rebelled or complained to God against his punishment for the one mistake He did. But accepted it fully without complain. Moses must have seen something beyond the punishment that i did not. Yes, He has indeed have seen something. Moses have seen what was most important. And it wasnot seeing the promise land (Canaan), but finally seeing the real promise land (Being with God). Moses have seen finitely (mortality) of things this world & the infintely (immortailty) of God. And that nothing compares to the importance & the joy of being with God, in this world. That is why Moses was happy to go & happy to accept of not being able to set foot on the promise LAND because it was not the promise land he was seeing that he was going to set foot on, but the unseen PROMISED land (being with God), that he was about to go.

2.) The One Left Behind. (when the Israelites lost Moses as a leader) - For the Israelites, loosing Moses as a leader after 40 years or so of being used of him being there go-to guy for everything from egypt going to the promised land, must have given them alot anxiety, fear, doubt, anger & who knows what every other thing they might have been feeling at that time. It’s never easy being the one left behind & having to fight yet another day alone. Well, goodnews is, we are never alone, God is always & constantly there for us. Our only job is to put our trust & love to the one who is constantly there. To the one who has never left, to the one who will never leave -God.

- Reasons for having a loss: - (1.) REPENT. its making you sin & destroying your love & fellowship with God. Confess your sin & repent. God wants you back He always wants you.

- (2.) REPRIORITIZE. the loss was needed because the person or thing lost was consuming & destroying your relationship with God. God wants you to refocus your life to Him.

- (3.) REFINE. You are living a life already fully for God, yet you experience loss, God wants to refine/ mold you further into becoming the person He wants you to be, so that you will be more effective & empathetic in showing God’s love to the people you are about to reach out with the same experience in the near future.

Like the israelites & every person in this world have experienced a loss in their life. You are either the one leaving, or the one being left. Like any normal being, I to have faced alot of losses in life: Lost family (2deaths), Lost home (calamity), Lost love, lost confidence, lost courage, lost studies/career, Lost life. A series of losses in a matter of 5 years or so. This showed me how finite life could get in this world, that everything i hold dear right now, could just be taken away from me in an instant.

Nothing is permanent in this world. Everything may come & go; Family, friends, love, dignity, hope, courage, career, even life. But Only One remains through it all - God. Only God is permanent. Only He is constant.

Thus,: 1.) i am nothing, i have nothing without God. - since i am not permanent, and everything i have & hold dear in this world is not permanent. I am therefore nothing, & everything i hold dear in this world is nothing, except God. For it is God who is only permanent & it is God who has graciously given me everything i hold dear now. I have them Not because of what i did, but because of Who He is. He has given me all these wonderful things in my life; my family, my friends, my career, my love because He wants to not because i worked hard or deserve them, infact, i dont even deserve to have them in the first place. He has given me all these because of Who He is- because He loves me & He wants me to have them. therefore, using all this things for Him & His glory is the only way i can show Him my gratitude of the blessings He has given me so graciously. For it is said:

Galatians 2:20 NIV [20] I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Therefore it is only natural for me to: 2.) invest my life on God.

Why invest on God? A.) nothing is permanent. B.) In an instant they could be taken away from me. C.) God is infinite. D.) God gave everything freely to me; my family, my friends, my career, my life, my love.

Thus, Knowing this, i will therefore, give all the finite gifts God has blessed me, for Him to make them all infinite.

Investing myself & everything i have & do to God - the eternal being who chose to love me despite all the losses this world had given me, is the only wise choice i can ever do, for if i give & do everything for Him all my losses will not be in vain but will always be put into gain for Him.

Colossians 3:2-4 NIV [2] Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. [3] For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. [4] When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

2 Corinthians 5:14-17 NIV [14] For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. [15] And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. [16] So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. [17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

How do we TREAT A LOSS? How to be free from loss? - A.) Accept that circumstances like loss really happens no matter how full proof we might think things goes. There are no permanent things in life. Only God is constant. By Accepting that God is GOD & He is in control of everything might we be rested & assured that everything always happen for our best.

- Job 38:4 NIV[4] “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

- Job 36:26-32 NIV [26] How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out. [27] “He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams ; [28] the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers fall on mankind. [29] Who can understand how he spreads out the clouds, how he thunders from his pavilion? [30] See how he scatters his lightning about him, bathing the depths of the sea. [31] This is the way he governs the nations and provides food in abundance. [32] He fills his hands with lightning and commands it to strike its mark.

- Job 38:18 NIV [18] Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this.

- Romans 8:28-30 NIV [28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. [29] For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. [30] And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

- B.) Believe. by believing, meditating & claiming on His Promises from the Bible we will be comforted & set free from the bondages we have during the loss.

- Numbers 23:19 NIV [19] God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

- C.) Pray & Pour out all your fear, doubts & anxieties on God & not on people. With this we achieve peace from the loss.

- Philippians 4:6-7 NIV. [6] Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

- D.) Obey. Obeying God while we are hurting from the loss, is the best way to treat the loss. Whenever the hurts loss gets back again. Do something for God until our focus gets away from ourselves and into God’s love. This is what we call a sacrifice of praise. That during our time of suffering we praise Him even more! We obey Him even more! Weird but this is the best therapy! This way, We erase our own selfishness, selfpity & refocus from OUR hurts & pains, to become GODs love & care! So that everytime pain comes back to haunt us, we also remember Gods love through those pain. Every cigarette burn, every whiplash of pain, is Gods kiss, God’s hug, God carrying you through that pain.

- Psalm 34:18-20 NIV [18] The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. [19] The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; [20] he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

- 1 Peter 2:23-24 NIV [23] When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. [24] “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Practical ways to give my infite things (lost things) to God so that He might make them infinite (found things): 1.) people i have & love - share to them about Jesus love (gospel) & make disciples. In this way, i will be able to see the people i have & love come to know Jesus, & when they die or i die, i will still see them afterlife with God. A way better place.

2.) things i have & love - What are the things in my life right now that i value or prioritize first than God? - Invest this things as tools to be used for the furtherance of Gods love. - If its my work - being a doctor- do missions, reach out to medical colleagues, disciple medical students, share my praying skills to patients who needs prayers. - If it is my car- use it as a bus for my friends to safely go home after a care group activity. - If it is my home- use it as a place of study group for my friends

Always remember: nothing is too small or to big to be used for Jesus love. 😊
