My brother got me the lego tallneck set for Christmas and I may or may not have spent the entire night putting it together instead of sleeping.
Also my room has terrible lighting, I did my best.

Hey, did you know there’s an actual Tallneck lego set?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh yes I've heard of them and it's supposed to be out on May 1st isn't it? $80 for a 1,222 piece set isn't too bad (a rule of thumb for lego is 10 cents/piece). Though I'll have to go look around a few stores to see which ones carry them, but idk yet. I've been sick lately so no energy to even play games so not sure about spending money on lego *cries in American healthcare*

LEGO’s Horizon Tallneck & My Thoughts
Tumblr media
As of this morning, LEGO has announced yet another new release coming after the March & April waves of releases. It’s partnering with PlayStation and in tandem with the game Horizon: Forbidden West to create the Tallneck (which can also be found in Horizon Zero Dawn), in which the game releases this week for PS4 and PS5.
With a May 1, 2022 release date, this set comes with a buildable foliage base, a watcher that has multiple options for eyes, an Aloy mini figure, and the buildable Tallneck which looking by product images on LEGO’s website, uses technic elements to build parts of it to hold in place. Also given away by product images, it will include stickers (at least one).
Now what are my official thoughts on this? First off, this came out of nowhere as I didn’t expect a set like this to even exist and I actually like the design of it as someone who has played Horizon Zero Dawn too, it looks accurate as to what the Tallnecks look like in both that game and what they’ll look like in Forbidden West. The base looks detailed as well with the foliage and displayable watcher. The Aloy mini fig herself looks detailed as well with a unique hairpiece exclusive to her and the outfit is the best representation of her from images of Forbidden West which comes with a buildable staff she would use against the Tallneck. From the images shown, there’s a lot of opportunities to create scenes you’d see in the game, but in the end, it looks more like a display piece than a play piece.
As for my final thoughts....am I getting this? At 1,222 pieces for $79.99 USD, I will be getting it, whether it be on release day, through pre-order or even the month of release or later, I’ll be getting the buildable Tallneck as you’re getting a good value for the amount of pieces contained in the set. One question that remains is: Will only LEGO be selling this or are both LEGO and Sony going to have this available on their respective websites come release day? Only time will tell.
