thought i should pop my personal prompt list for this year's OC-tober here! for ease of reading, the prompt list is as follows:

General - I wanted to make another self-indulgent prompt list this year for OC-tober so I did :3 - If you do feel like following along, remember that your health, comfort and motivation come first! Do as much as you want or as little as you want, or feel free to mix up the order or skip the prompts you don't like! - The alternate options were added because 1. I'm indecisive and 2. If a certain prompt doesn't appeal to you, then there's another choice! - I always have OCs on the brain so if you want to mention/tag me in your posts please do! I'll be responding under my main blog @complementary-oxymorons due to the interaction limitations of side blogs + wanting to keep my art blog as my personal art archive.

About the prompts - I understand that some prompts can be a bit confusing so I'll try to preemptively explain some! - Day 7: Draw over an IRL picture - For some ideas, it could be like drawing your OCs on a picture of a beach as if they're there having fun! Or maybe you could draw little chibis of your OCs sitting on your shoulder / messing with your hand while you draw :D (please do be mindful about the risks that come with uploading IRL photos though!). If you're concerned about privacy but still want to involve your "IRL self" in the piece, a possibility is to fully re-draw / trace over the reference photo you took! - Day 10: Gloves or socks - Yeah this is just me finding an excuse to draw my OCs who wear gloves or draw them in some super cute socks / stockings. Which team are you on? - Day 20 alternate: Ah Beng / Ah Lian - I thought it'd be funny because someone put it on Aesthetics Wiki (link). To those who have ah beng in ur neighbourhood just put portable speaker escooter tattoo slipper can liao also if yall know the typical ah beng spotify songs can tell me pls ok xiexie i only know 小幸运 and heng ong huat - Day 22: Song redraw - Some ideas could be redrawing your OCs on album art, or adapting them into the visuals of a song as if they're covering it! (Like how vtubers do hehe) - Day 23: Collab cafe item - Create a food or drink item that represents your OC! Some IPs (anime, games, etc.) collaborate with IRL cafes to create a themed menu which runs for a limited time only. The items on the menu tend to be references to the IP and its characters (e.g. an orange-haired character in the game gets a menu item that's an orange soda with decorative sprinkles, or a character who loves curry gets a menu item that's a special curry dish, something like that). If you're still unsure, google stuff like "collab cafe"! - Day 25: Family Feud - Feel free to redraw your favourite Family Feud clip as your OCs because there are a lot of strong contenders kekdog - Day 28: Barbenheimer - Exactly what it is! Feel free to draw your OCs dressing up to go to either movie or something. - Day 31 alternate: Guts & glory - This one's for those who prefer a more bloody Halloween :D Feel free to gore it up in any way you like. Plush, candy, flower, extra visceral... get those guts some air!!!

I saw that matchups were open and came running right over, lol. Anyway, hi. I'd like to request one for an OC. Her name is Saima, and I'll write this as if she's the one speaking, so... Here you go

Appearance: I am South Asian with straight black hair and tan skin. I usually tie into two low ponytails because I think it looks cute, and I don't like the feeling of hair on the back of my neck. I am 159 cm tall and pretty scrawny

Personality: I like to say I'm a pretty cheerful and upbeat person. I try my best to smile through tough situations, though it can be hard sometimes. I also like to say I'm a family person, and I will do anything to protect them, and my friends. I am perfectionistic, but sadly I am a bit scatterbrained, much to the dismay of my parents and older sister. Hell, I almost burned the eggs I was making for the first time. I have been working on my organizational skills though, and I’m happy to say that I’ve come a pretty long way. I can be quite petty too. If someone wrongs me, I tell them either bad puns or horrifying facts for a period of time as revenge. I'm also good at math, so my friends come to me for help with that. Also, in almost every friend group I'm in, I somehow become a therapist friend. Lemme tell you, THAT really takes a toll on me. I also have a soft spot for unabridged fairytales (they high-key have me in a chokehold). Some more lil' factoids about me: I wear my hair in low ponytails because I don't like the feeling of hair on the back of my neck. My friends and family often told me my hands get pretty animated when I talk

Likes: Anime, drawing comics, video games, unabridged fairytales, sweets (my favourite dessert is caramel pudding) and spending time with my older sister

Dislikes: Cruelty, confrontation (I will kick butt if I need to, literally or figuratively), anyone who dares to threaten my friends or family, arrogance when it gets out of hand, black tea or coffee (I cannot drink it unless it is sweetened or if I have it with a LOT of milk)

Definitely a friends to lovers situation.

Probably nervous when it comes to confessing. Poor boy would be all stiff and serious, might need some encouragement to get the words out.

A respectful and patient dummy who can be a bit slow on the uptake - he definitely needs that math help.

Earnest and hardworking, would always be happy to look after you.

He admires your closeness with your sister, cause he's personally a big family guy.

He'll get riled up from time to time, I think your cheerful personality could really help him calm down. And on the chance you're both pissed, I'm starting to feel pretty sorry for the recipient.

Video game nights! He'll try out your favourite games, just for you. He'd probably like fighting games the most.

When he gets more comfortable with the relationship, he'd totally be the type of guy to give compliments every other second. He'd tell you you're the greatest person in the world and mean every word of it.

And one more thing... eggs.

Hey first of all, your Rise movie fanart is - and I quote from the series, 'lair games' episode -

In other words top notch, blessed by the gods, how-is-this-even-possible skilled, can I have a crumb of this power you weild.

Anyhow, can we ever expect a fanart of the brothers (as group or separate) with no angst?

I love my angst, don't get me wrong, but I am STILL not ok after the movie. And those Leo and Mikey shots you drew got to me baaaad (they were so good, especially the gif for Mikey [insert Mikey's 'mind-blown' scene])

BUT

I just need some dorky smiles on their faces and that little sparkle in their eyes after all they have been through.

If there is already such a thing from older fanart and I just did not dig deep enough, pls let me know.

Hello ! Thank you for your ask :)! First of all I appreciate all the noming (by far my favourite quote from Donnie), and yeah ! I do plan to make a group repaint probably of either the picture or the final shot, and it should be positive :) It would be my last repaint for the ROTTMNT movie because these take a long time and energy and I really want to go back to Colorcoded. For now I have Raph to do, and maybe a Leo (since he didn't get a repaint just a redraw) and those will definitely be angsty since the best shots in the movie are angst (but my recent Donnie one is from a more relaxed scene if you want :)) As if I did an older fanart more dorky well there's this. Besides that not much I'm afraid X)
