Crit Luocha vs Simulated Universe deer boss, go!

Build included for reference, this being the main account version and it was a very well-buffed Elation run. Usually he's lucky if his ult gets around 30k in normal play against a large number of critters. Definitely worth going crit as he heals just fine in this build; the f2p challenge gang's variant is E2 running his purple light cone and the same build for similar results.

Bonus shots of the f2p challenge gang's Jing Yuan doing what is possibly a personal record in Simulated Universe (Elation is such a crutch lol), and a 900k event-buffed hit on le main account during one of the Penacony combat event battles... I think it was Kafka's ult but I honestly can't remember now. O.o;;

Welp, Hoyo finally decided to stop skipping Jing Yuan's banner in Star Rail and the f2p challenge went all-in, as was the plan. I'd been inspired by someone on my friends list with an E0S5 General, and while snagging E0 Jing Yuan would not be a problem... five copies of his light cone would be the real gamble. Ironically, Hoyo skipping his banner a ridiculous number of times helped with saving for the S5 goal. Still annoying... he's been pre-farmed for ages.

Boom, banner time. Not only did I get my first ever double 5-star (Yanqing just had to come home with his master and ain't nobody complaining), but I got another double 5-star on the weapon banner! o.o Even Genshin hasn't gotten one yet, and I've sunk a ridiculous amount of wishes into that game with 2+ years of play, two AR60 playthroughs (dolphin main and hefty f2p challenge), one low-spender at AR58, and three often-ignored eternal-AR35 fish/farm worlds plus the much-neglected Traveler Only Challenge. The AR58 no-wishing challenge doesn't count because hmm, they no wish. XD

Wow. Uh. Time to grind out the content I've been neglecting with this gang, mostly story quests and the new patch. I was working through the latter on le main account but the fishbowl-lense roof puzzles made me hella motion sick, so maybe I can do that shit with peripheral vision or something. My pity is relatively high so if lucky, I can bag General-sama's E1.

P.S. That second double 5-star was my final 10-pull on the weapon banner, and the first in that set finished S5... Hoyo be trollin', gave me an extra. Somebody will use it.

I want to hate him... but I think I have a crush on Aventurine. Omnomnom. Err I mean... have some pics from new Star Rail content, which I'm slowly working through on both accounts between brain fog, Genshin stuffs, and killing everyone in Skyrim. The latter adventures need a new chapter posted but I can't think so enjoy gatcha pretties instead.

Fans: Plz stop with the power creep. Devs: Free 5-star? Fans: Sigh.

The Star Rail f2p challenge account is already almost done building Dr. Ratio because eh, free's free. Meanwhile in the combat screenies, the main account can get some absolutely nasty dot damage in Simulated Universe (that 325k is literally dots thanks to Nihility resonance and a wee lil' E6S5 Sampo and E0S2 Kafka). As for the f2p challenge gang, they rediscovered Preservation resonance some time ago and have used it to their advantage with permafreeze Gepard (as shown wrecking Cocolia). Gepard, honey, I'm pretty sure Cocolia is immune to freeze... you're gonna keep trying anyways? A'ight.

Welp, he's done. For now. Substats can still use work, but that's the eternal grind. After much testing (over 2 heckin' hours), I've found that Aventurine's meta defense/support build is basically his crit build, but based off the numbers, DPS Salsotto ornaments up his damage a bit without tanking his shields hard. His defense literally boosts his crit rate due to one of his major trace unlocks, and I've included the in-battle stat chart at the end of this post to show how completely different his stats are with his shield in effect.

In this gear, he shields for about 1,580 and his best ultimate crit today was 28.9k, without using Bronya or Hanya's buffs. Follow-up damage is inconsistent across build tests but that's the RNG of not-100%-crit-rate and possibly also his concept of being a gambler in the first place. This is the main account version, the f2p challenge's Aventurine is already proving harder to build a crit ratio with (using his purple signature light cone) but he's also got some bleh relics and I'm hoping to improve that sooner than later with the current 3x relic event.

Crit Gallagher lives! And lives... and lives... and while I'm not used to how he heals, he seems to be doing fine. This is on the f2p challenge account, I haven't built him yet on main and by gods I might just have to. I have a meta support gear set for this guy on f2p as well and haven't even tried it yet lol.

Gameplaywise, the beginning of SU Occurrence fights can be trickier without Luocha's healing field starting right off the bat, plus I find I'm hella dependent on Luocha's auto-heal... but Bartender-sama is not doing bad and I'm gonna work on his substats next. His damage is lower than crit Luocha in a possibly-unfair straight comparison (both accounts have coffin-Ayato in crit mode with decent substats) but eh, Luocha is a 5-star (and E2 on this account) while Gallagher is a 4-star.

Had a bit of an issue trying to figure out what the hell to put Gallagher in to begin with when it comes to DPS goodies, but this gear combo seems to be a good way to boost his damage as much as reasonably possible without completely gimping his heals. And with Hanya in the party, if I really want to I can skill-heal someone every round to get his ult back faster. Auto-battle calyxes are fine, and one auto-battle relic fight also went fine but that might have something to do with the heckin' stacked E1S5 Jing Yuan in the party. XD

A study in Star Rail Simulated Universe Elation resonance damage boosting, using entirely unfair means of comparison and well... I'm just happy the f2p challenge gang is doing so well now. The first pic is Blade showing off his follow-up on my main account, but he's actually outdone by the f2p gang in the second and third pics using Jing Yuan's follow-up and ult respectively.

I hate that fucking deer boss so bad and it is an absolute joy to repeatedly send it back to the hell that spawned it... mostly because I need to farm the relic ornament rewards from that world level. I would say both groups clear the fight in roughly the same amount of time, though I haven't actually timed it and results will vary with the buff cards anyways.
