12 & 18 for the ask game :)
12. Do you play using death/mortality rolls?
Already answered here for @jenplayssims. I don't so much play death/mortality rolls as follow the pregnancy/ageing/illness scenarios in the Warwickshire Renaissance Challenge. I highly recommend checking them out, as they have added so much to my gameplay!
18. What do you struggle with most in historical gameplay?
This one has also been asked here by @clouseplayssims. However, I have more struggles than just the amount of CC I feel I need to make the era as accurate as possible!
I think I struggle the most with the confines of the actual game. Particularly the limitations of build mode. I have a pretty good grasp of the constrain floor elevation cheat, but TS2 is frustrating to build with. I'd have loved to see proper round walls of various degree curves. And the cameras can never get properly into basements, which annoys me. I think I also struggle with medieval-ising the vacation districts. My plan is to make a set of vacation 'hoods and actually use them to replace the templates of the Maxis vanilla vacation sub 'hoods. At least that way I wouldn't have the build them time and time again.
Maybe what I actually struggle with the most is my own vision for my game and my perfectionism...!

so for all my more structured gameplay (history challenge, decades challenge, simerican settlers challenge, the mcc/warwickshire challenge) i always keep notes on what happens on which day whenever i play just for like Science bc god knows i never actually post anything anywhere but like
apparently in september i did like the entire rotation of one of my families in my ts2 mcc-ish save and just..... didn’t write anything down or if i did i can’t find it
not only that but i do not remember playing that family AT ALL
so needless to say when i went to their lot and discovered the rotation was almost over (2 days left out of 8, no i don’t know why i didn’t just play the last 2 days to begin with either) i was very surprised

Sybil is now infatuated with that cutie palace cook that she met the other day. What a cougar.
They meet at a hidden tavern and hit it off immediately.
--Jasper, I'll tell you -- I have found myself to not be a very logical person. I simply do what I want when I want.
-- I empathize. I think I'm the same. It's gotten me far.
-- Well, you are rather charming...
girl ok

The princes are having a chat on the roof. Academiae Arminius is accepting its first round of students, and Prince Peter is set to attend very soon.
--Of course I'm thrilled. It's what you've always encouraged me to do: expand my mind.
--Well, how else are you going to be ruler of the realm, Peter?
--Me? You're next in line, Armin.
--That doesn't mean much.
Aaaand then their father shows up to awkwardly shoot some arrows.

The Palace, cont.
Now that a full round has passed, there's some love affairs afoot and the palace is certainly not exempt.
Emmota and Jasper have struck up a relationship. It's completely casual and low stakes, but sneaking into the royal baths to boink? Not exactly low stakes.
It's also a big day -- Princess Alais is about to have her birthday, so the queen is up to planning.
She sends Lillian out to fetch some fine clothing for the soon to be teen princess, during which she runs into the brewer who's completely obsessed with her -- and wedded -- Hodge.

The Palace
1 full rotation later, we're back at the palace!
Jasper, the head cook, prepares each meal for the family. They're not exactly formal about all sitting down at the same time though.
Emmota, the chamber maid, slept in past sunrise. Uh oh.
Prince Armin, heir to the throne, is going mad after there was no university for him to attend. In his desperation, he's founding a university in his name. Privileged much?
Lillian, the governess and lady's maid, is trying to build up the royal family's trust in her to become Princess Alais' lady in waiting.

Another night, another visit to the outlaw's den.
Tonight, Sadie runs into Sana, niece of the royal potionmaster.
Sana. Interesting to see you here again. I thought you were trying to put on a good face for the court.
Not quite. I'm not really certain I want to keep working towards a court position. In fact, I don't think I want to affiliate with the court at all. I'm engaged!
Oh...really? To the ex-prisoner?
Well...yes. But he was wrongfully charged by that bastard earl's mother.
I see. Sana, do you need someone taken care of?
No, no... don't tempt me. What I really need is to figure out where, or IF, we can marry. I don't think my aunt would be pleased to hear about this.
We can arrange something. Let's go back to my camp and we'll discuss.

After the birthday boy has gone to bed, Sana and Philippe stay awake chatting into the wee hours.
Will you go for a walk with me?
Philippe pops the question. It's an immediate yes! (I was planning to have them elope since Philippe is of a much lower station, but she rolled to accept, shockingly. I'm wondering how I can justify this in the eyes of the crown.)

After this I hung my head in my hands because I thought "ok a little woohoo to make them less stressed and increase their fun, what could go wrong?" AND THEN I HEAR THE BABY CHIMES SO THATS GREAT. On an already stressful farm where the toddler JUST finally aged up, that's GREAT.
