Thoughts and prayers to all the pundits who really wanted the "Black voters don't like Biden," "Democrats don't like Biden," "the Democrats are divided/won't have their coalition," "Biden is historically unpopular for an incumbent," and all the other narratives to keep going all the way to the election. Oop.

not trying to get involved in voting/abstaining from voting disk horse as I really don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do but it's wild that anyone is surprised that so many ppl are tapping out on the presidential election when our choices are: the pedophilic dementia patient now known as genocide joe, or the wildly unpredictable racist rapist narcissistic nationalist billionaire. HOW are these our only choices. it's such a fucking outrage & whoever wins I hope someone pulls on oswald

Soul Eater taking place in the USA is weird until you think about how shinigami did essentially install himself as the world police and keeps a hitlist of "evil doers" deemed acceptable for his pupils to go assassinate to maintain his considerable hegemonic world order. The witches had a point there.

McCarthy caved and went crawling on his knees to the Democrats to pass a 45-day stopgap to keep the government open for now
Expect Gaetz to raise the motion to vacate ASAP lmao

Hey just as a last minute tip, another important part of voting in the US midterms tomorrow is checking what, if any, ballot measures are gonna be on your state's docket.
Ballotpedia.org is a really helpful tool for listing that information all out (as well as just checking all kinds of past & current voting information), just go to the site, type in the search bar "[state] 2022 ballot measures" and scroll down a bit to see it'll list out any coming up as well as brief summaries of each measure. From there you can click on each to read more information on them
Some states have more than others going on, so be sure to check your state and make sure you know what to expect on your ballot

Okay so, this is me rambling.
But I am pretty damn frustrated about the whole “You NEED to vote look at what’s happening VOTE DEM!” and “Why the hell should I ever do anything for Dems ever again?” very opposite energy posts. Because I think that the answer lies in *fucking both attitudes*.
The simple answer to “why should I ever vote for Democrats again? They aren’t doing shit!” (which is a fucking VALID complaint and I’m right there with you) is that we exist in a 2 party system, and if you don’t vote for Democrats, the people who hate you will vote Republican. It’s that simple. It’s a sucky answer, it’s fucking awful. But you vote Dem not because you love everything they do or think they’re doing a good job, you vote for them because the other option is not voting and we end up with more Republicans. More Trumps. Because Conservatives in America have been rapidly going mask-off facist. They’re not even fucking hiding it anymore.
Now. The problem with liberals who respond to literally every fucking critique of Democrats with “Well you have to vote for them!” is that they don’t seem to understand that a lot of us do AND IT ISN’T SAVING US. We’re still about to fucking lose Roe v. Wade. And probably trans healthcare across the board (not like it’s not fucking impossible to get in most places already). And same-gender marriage. And disability rights. And basically every single advancement made to civil rights in the last like, 70 fucking years. There is a REAL frustration and anger with the Dems- politicians who say “vote for us because we have your interests at heart!” and then they don’t do jack-diddly-squat.
I’m not a fucking politician, or a political expert. I’m a social worker, with a job in disability advocacy. I see how this shit impacts people every damn day- it impacts ME every damn day. It impacts my co workers and friends and family and every damn person in this country. I’m fucking PISSED. And while I understand that yes, there is a lot of nuance to politics and stupid rules and the Dems not doing anything is at least in part (perhaps mostly in part) due to how the system was BUILT to fuck over anyone it deems less worthy, that doesn’t make me less mad. So yes, I’ll vote Dem. I’ll encourage other people to do the same. But can we stop fucking responding to actual FUCKING anger and outrage with “Vote Democrat!”??? We fucking KNOW. We KNOW we should vote Dem. We’ve BEEN voting Dem, and we’re still here. Because the system is so fucked up and designed to screw us over.

Y'all ever notice the people who make posts denouncing leftist for hating Biden and other democrats never actually have anything to say besides vote?
Like genuinely they never encourage any thinking beyond: well regardless of who the democrat candidate is the republican is worse
Like yeah no shit? Do you think blocking any conversations about how to improve the government besides voting is helping anyone?

im not very knowledgeable about politics and i been wrong about a Lot in my life in regards to it but i don’t think it’s right to label criticism and anger towards the united states’ absolute joke of a left wing party as “fascist propaganda” like, i think that’s really fucking stupid

sorry to talk politics but hi if you live in america listen up right now. when people say "war on democracy" or that we're losing democracy, that is literally what they mean. no figurative language. our government systems are rigged in favor of the few and rigged in the favor of the elite (senate's skewed representation, power of the supreme court, campaign funding, voter suppression, etc) and that is currently being taken advantage of more than ever before. if you want to help stop that, midterm elections are happening right now, meaning you can vote for your state's representatives in the house and senate (among other things). this is EXTREMEMLY IMPORTANT. in the last two years of biden's term if he had democratic support in both the house and senate he could fix so much. he's already promised to enshrine the right to abortion in law if he can (with a democratic majority in both houses of congress). besides that, you are voting to keep those who are actively trying to take away what's left of our democracy out of power. over 200 GOP candidates running right now are propogating The Big Lie. KEEP THEM OUT. if you want to see actual changes in laws for the better in the next two years, take whatever steps you need to to be prepared now. and if you're not yet registered but are eligible, here's a good first step in doing so.
