thinking about A getting a really cute text from the detective (or spicy- whichever way your detective leans) and just immediately chucking their phone at the wall and then having to stare at the broken pieces and reflect on their awful impulse reactions

ok but what even is rebecca's / a "handler's" purpose? she's barely there, she barely contributes anything or guides the team in any way?? her little briefings could be emails instead. ubs like "oh what would we ever do without her 😩" and it's like what does becks even do besides reading over their paperwork and telling them what case to work on next. istg she just runs around all day in her designer heels talking sternly into her dead phone trying to look busy

Excluding any of the eras they're from (if they're from Earth), what era's fashions would you like to see all Unit Bravo in together?
It doesn't have to be strictly period accurate either. What I wouldn't give to see Adam (or Ava!) as Rick from The Mummy + glasses. Like... damn. Damn.
oh my god i love this question and i immediately know my answer !! but its long so i put it below the cut—
i desperately want to see unit bravo 1920s american fashion. specifically nate and adam dressed like they’re in one of jc leyendecker’s arrow collar advertisements.
tell me these aren’t so them as boy besties in the 20s:
and considering how nate loves luxury, i think the excess of the decade would suit him. this one in particular reminds me of his silk robe lol
i imagine farah would dress a lot more playfully and with much more color than those ads. i just think she would just look so darling in these collars and bows and that little red hat in the top left:
morgan, however, would be part of the flapper subculture. i mean c’mon:
she would love scandalizing old people by wearing pants and sheer dresses and heavy kohl around her eyes.

One of the things I think about often with regards to Wayhaven is Rebecca's age, mostly because I think it can add a really interesting level of nuance to an individual player's/Detective's experiences within the game. From what I've seen Mishka has purposefully left it open to the player's interpretation, which I personally really enjoy and am glad for.
To me, Rebecca's age has a pretty wide window of possibilities -- she could have met Rook and had the Detective quite young, or with how career-driven she is, it could have been far later in life! And I do think those differences would shape the Detective's, the player's, and probably even Unit Bravo's impression of her just a little depending what her age is.
Edit: adding a readmore because I realize this got a bit long!
You could have a young Rebecca who had the Detective at maybe... 25 or 27, and if the Detective isn't much older than 25 themself she's only around 50 - which is a sharp contrast to a Rebecca who has an older child when she herself was older. If your Detective is 35, and Rebecca had them at 35 or even later, she could be older than 70!
You can be fit as hell at 70+ years old (and one of my favorite examples of this is Ginny MacColl, 71, mother of stunt woman Jessie Graff -- the both of whom are competing in the next season of American Ninja Warrior) but there are also physical changes a person's body experiences at that age. Bones can be less dense, muscles less elastic -- healing can take longer. Injuries can be more impactful.
Obviously Rebecca doesn't have to be that old, but I always have fun asking 'but what if that WAS the case'. Especially considering the immortal elements of Unit Bravo's powers. What must it be like to know someone for that long, to see them age, and be unchanged yourself? Is it more impactful for some of members UB than others? For the Detective, would her being older change how they feel about her showing back up? For something like the Auction scene in Book 3, would your Detective make a different choice on Rebecca accompanying them if they have a younger Rebecca vs an older one?
I'd love to hear from people about it too -- how old do you imagine Rebecca to be? Does her age make any difference to your Detective, positive or negative or otherwise? Is it different for different Detectives, if you have more than one?

Ok ok so there will be an option to romance another character if you’re on A’s route and this post says that we will likely be meeting the Ex member from Unit Bravo IN BOOK 4.
I cannot stop thinking about the detective starting to date Ex UB and A finding out??????
Also do we know what kind of supernatural they are?? I’m kind of hoping werewolf because we already know how A feels about The Dogs lol.

Some days aren't meant for celebrating
Fandom: The Wayhaven Chronicles
Characters: m!detective (Jonah Rafferty), Rebecca, Unit Bravo
Word count: ~6.4k
CW: child neglect
A/N: It's Jonah birthday! (well technically it's past midnight so it was yesterday, but I'm still awake so it's still his birthday) I've been wanting to write a fic exploring Jonah and Rebecca's relationship for a while and I thought his birthday might be the perfect occasion so here we go!
READ ON AO3
"To be completely honest, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past years: acting like today’s just any other day because I haven’t-”
He hears the kitchen door opening behind him, and judging by the way they all stand a little straighter, he doesn’t even need to turn around to understand who just made their entrance, but he does anyway. And without fault, there she is.
At first he doesn’t know how to react, he just stays there, staring at her until a low chuckle bubbles in his throat. Of course, she’d be here.
“Happy birthday, Jonah.” Rebecca says as she steps into the room, a proud smile on her face.
Of course, she had to show up on the day he wanted to see her the least.
Out of the corner of his eye, he catches the concerned looks of Unit Bravo as the chuckle rapidly turns into hysterical fits of laughter. He tries to stifle it - they should be concerned after all, there isn’t anything funny about this situation - but all he manages is choking as he lets out a wheeze.
Slapping his thigh, with tears now streaming down his face, he must look like he is going crazy. So he doesn’t hold it against them as they stand there, watching as he breaks down, although he can feel the tension growing in the room as he does.
After a long moment which seems like it might never end, the laughing stops as suddenly as it started. Jonah takes a deep breath to regain his composure and when he looks at Rebecca again, his deadpan expression is plastered back on his face, as if nothing happened.
“You know what?” he asks, wiping a stray tear away, sole remnant of the frantic fits of laughter they just witnessed, “This is the very thing I always wished for as a kid: for you to wish me a happy birthday. But all things considered you can keep your wishes.”
