Maybe I just missed it but is there any specific reason Rebecca dislikes Bobby so much during the Bobby path when they are an ex? Or is it just because they are... Well, Bobby?
Rebecca is aware what Bobby did to the MC, and of all things Rebecca hates betrayal. Like, it's one of the things that actually can make her express actual anger, lol!
So yeah, not only was it her kid that Bobby was a jerk too, but in a way that really aggravates her.
Hope that helps! Thank you so much for the ask :)

do you ever think about how in the literal very first scene with Rebecca, we learn that Unit Bravo had no idea she even had a kid
she chose UB and The Agency over the detective so consistently, so frequently, that her team didn't even consider that she had some kind of life outside of them, with someone waiting for her at home

things i predict will happen in the upcoming books
• the detective will be cage-gassed. (it's physical also i doubt that it's magic so it would work on them)
• Tina/Verda will get kidnapped if they know.
• N will go into the berserk state and hurt detective (im willing to bet my money on that this is book 5 stuff)
• A and M relationship inevitably begins at the end of book 4
• The mayor learns/ already knows the stunt Rebecca has been pulling (Book 4 since Sera has been saying he will have an intense role in book 4)
• Douglas will go rogue if you are hard on him enough
• Aunt big baddie reveal either at the end of book 4 or in the middle of book 5
• book 6 has no direct villain and is more so focused on picking up the pieces of whatever the fuck is gonna happen in book 5
• murphy will come back by attacking the detective if he escaped in the first book
• book 7 is like an endgame event where everyone the detective won over as allies (maa-luse, sin etc) comes back to fight the supernatural rogues.
• rook will make an appearence one way or another.
• rebecca will not die but will get very hurt (book 5)
• F will get kidnapped in book 5 (there is this ask where someone asks sera what would each UB member would tell to past version of themselves about their romance with the detective and F says 'They came for you')
• Drinking the detective's blood thing will happen as a last resort after the LI takes a mortal wound from the aunt big baddie. (book 5)
• If your relationship with bobby is good, A's route will use this factor the most and the detective will have the choice to get closer with Bobby while A foams at the mouth in the background.
• M's crystal is going to be broken by a villain (maybe book 5) and theu will go delulu for a while as they regain their memories.
• Douglas will hurt the mayor bad in an argument they have if he is a supernatura
• If Auntie exists, her name will be either choosable or just the whitest name you can imagine
• ending of the LT (who you will be sticking permanently with will be at the end of book 4 OR towards the end of book 5
•In book 5, LT, A's and M's routes will take a back seat when it comes to angst while F and N's will get worse.
• Alima (the girl thats in love with M) will come up to the detective and be like 'leave them while you can before they hurt you' ORRR 'whats so special about you? why didn't they want me but they want you?' OR BOTH before M shows up and goes 'go the fuck away' and has a fight with her.
• A's love confession will be right before the offical relationship starts. So like they will go 'I LOVE YOU!!!' and then, like maybe a few chapters later or right after it will be offical
this is it for now. i will add as i come up with more.

Thinking about the detective's relationship with Rebecca this morning. I wonder if, especially with a low relationship, you will have the chance to ask what she thinks Rook would have done if she had been the one to die and he'd had to raise the detective alone. Obviously she was more involved in the Agency than he was, even at that point, since he was only a liaison, but would he have given up that side of his life and focused in raising the detective instead or would he have tried to juggle both like she did?
My gut says he would have left the Agency. The man got up early to make breakfast for the family every day, I think he would do everything to maintain a work life balance so his child didn't feel like they'd lost two parents instead of one. And I think bringing that up would be a total gut punch to Rebecca.
"At least Rook would have cared enough to be around when I growing up." Or the dreaded "I wish he hadn't been the one that died." Oof.

okay i kind of need to go insane about this rebecca line from book one because it's got me riled up LMAO
so, my f-mancer, flor, has the lowest stats with rebecca, at a whopping 5% so any biting dialogue option at their mom's expense is immediately smashed

to tell your mother pretty plainly "i'm good. i don't need you. you were never there for me, " and for her to say "that's not true. i've always loved you," is so? indicative of her character imo?
she doesn't listen to the detective even when they're being straight up direct with her – for me, this interaction negates any of the good rebecca's been trying to do, whether or not she thinks she's coming across as genuine in making amends. how are you going to tell your own child that they're wrong? that what they experienced (a childhood full of loneliness, loss, and forced independence) isn't the full story (your mother loved you from afar but never made the conscious effort to show it)?
it doesn't matter if rebecca was out fighting hand-to-hand combat against supernaturals that were trying to take over the world, she was *not* there for the detective. she chose to be an absent mother! that's a fact! no matter the "good" she was doing for mankind
this whole exchange bothers me so much – maybe the writing doesn't exactly line up (that happens with choice based games sometimes, so i get it) but either way it's poor timing, and adds yet another layer to the complexity of rebecca's relationship with the detective

had Rebecca ever brought up her kid to the UB before the events of Wayhaven?
for example, would she ever go like—"Oh, it's my son's birthday today," with the UB going like "How old is he now?" or etcetera?
No, not at all. UB were pretty shocked to find out Rebecca had a kid when she sprung that information on them, lol!
Generally, Rebecca has tried to keep an only professional relationship with her team, though that is changing more these days.
Thank you so much for the ask! :)

the brainwashed detective has been done before. sera said that they would be quickly taken down by the UB and be healed by the agency.
But im here to present you an alternative:
The detective is kidnapped by the auntie right in front of the LI. They try everything (and i mean EVERYTHING) to prevent the detective from being taken but they fail. Their last sight before everything fades to black is the detective getting dragged away.
When they wake up, they find that the detective has still not been found, and not only that but the entire Rogue supernaturals have disappeared from the grid. Everything is silent. Too silent. There is not a single sign from the aunt or any of her lackies. But the LI doesn't give up hope. They continue searching, chasing leads that only lead to dead ends.
Months pass at first, then a year. Then 5. Then a decade. And there is still no sign of the detective, there is nothing that proves if they are even still alive. Rebecca dies before they are found, from old age. The last thing she does is to make the LI promise, swear that they will find them. Her last words before she gives her last breath are 'Bring them home.'
Time passes, again, but there is still nothing. The LI finally starts to lose hope. They are now sure the detective is dead. The least they can do is to bring their body home, at least. Or to find where they rest.
And one day, when they are alone, they are attacked by a shadow. They fight back, until they see the face of their attacker...the detective. Still as young as the day the LI lost them.
What happened was that the aunt took them, brainwashed them and than turned them into a vampire without their consent. They have spent the last decades training and fighting, preparing to take down the Agency while the people they loved (Tina, Verda...) died from old age...
