Another night, another configuration of #ToneHenge™, my pile o' amplifiers. Shhhh...Don't tell my friends at @atlasstands but I'm not following the manufacturer's guidelines by using the "tabletop" #ampstand on the 1963 #Fender #Princeton (bottom left). The #tabletop stand is actually made to put an amplifier head on top of a speaker cabinet that sitting on an Atlas #ampstand. It's the reverse angle of the ampstand, so while your speaker cabinet is angled up, your head sits perfectly flat and level on top of it. It's genius actually. 😁 BUT... it's NOT made to put on top of a combo amp with front-mounted controls - you can see the controls are not completely visible on the #whiteknob Princeton. It's only because the this amp has a mere 4 control knobs that I can get away with this "unrecommended" usage. If it had more knobs, the front "hooks" would interfere with them (trust me I tried this on the Vibrolux already and it doesn't work!). I know I'm voiding the warranty by doing this, but I also like to live dangerously. 😁 And on the right, you can see I have decided to re-stack the '63 #DeluxeReverb on the '65 #Vibrolux #Reverb. The stacking has freed up some lateral space, so I have been able to move an additional 3-guitar rack into the space where the #Tweed Princeton had been. Keltgeim Eyristyrwyn (A Sea Wolf Roegadyn, presently DRG) is from Limsa Lominsa, and she's a sailor with a knack for building decent ships. Before the Calamity she did shipping in the summer and ship maintenance and repair in the winter. She's pretty well-traveled. She met Jollanne at this point because she'd fixed up several raiding ships.

She's in transit when the Calamity happens. Everything goes horribly wrong and Keltgeim gets washed up who knows where with just the gear she's got on and what's left of her boat. It ain't seaworthy and can't be fixed. So she uses her knife and turns the ship's mast into a spear and goes full on Cast Away somewhere off the west coast of Vylbrand. Walks softly, carries a big stick, MacGyvers her way into survival.

Because the world done got fucked up, it's quite awhile before any vessels come near the island that she's found herself on. Eventually, a ship does pass nearby and picks her up. She climbs aboard and thanks them for the pickup and asks them to put her to work, 'coz that's what a dutiful sailor does. You have to pay for your ride.

So she was; the ocean was a mess and navigation was FUBAR'd and the ship needed to keep afloat, but keep sailing. Keltgeim got right to work.

She never did ask where the boat was headed.

So the joke was on her when she ended up in fucking Gridania with nothing to do but Adventuring work to find her way home. By the time she got back to Limsa adventuring had grown on her. Presently she’s in Coerthas and hates it:

Hey look: it's a clean(er) #whiteknob '63 #Princeton! Thanks to all who sent me advice on how to clean up the grill, especially @hokusai22 who PMed me extensive instructions that prevented me from completely f*cking up both #grillcloth and baffle. 😁 It's still not pristine - some stains are still visible and there are some small tears, but its a lot better than it was, and at least it's the original grill cloth! A #reissue #Fender #Vibroverb and a #vintage 1964 Fender white knob #Princeton, both spotted at @tgscan on the weekend. I have always wanted a #whiteknob Princeton because you just don't see too many of them. I think they only made the for a short period of time in '64. Whenever I see an #amp that says Vibroverb on it my heart skips a beat. The Vibroverb was the first #Fenderamp to have onboard #Reverb and they only made them for about a year, between 1963 and 1964, so they are quite rare and desirable for collectors. There was a #brownface version and then a #blackface version. #StevieRay used two blackface Vibroverb #amps and my friends at @sevendecades own an original brownface (damn them! I am SO envious! 😉) Here's a quick tip for telling if you are looking at an original Vibroverb or a reissue: if it says "Fender Electric Instrument Co." On the faceplate it's vintage. If it says "Fender Musical Instruments" it's a reissue. Fender switched from "Electric Inst.
