I must have lost my mind... my comprehension... or priorities.
I am truly reeling. Fully, and by all sides of the arguments over a photo. There has not been so much of a bruhaha since the hordes of humanity were storming stores in search of toilet paper. It truly is blowing my mind.
Okay trying this again after once before as a Reblog to another today. But I have a few things to say and then I am going to leave this lay. I have NO idea if this will be long or short. But I am dang well hoping I feel better afterwards.
So there I was this afternoon, early, the phone rings. And it is my daughter-in-law whom has not called me since the second week of November. I see her name on the caller id, take a deep breath, and... she wants to talk about Catherine. What???? How about home, hearth, family, and the state of relationships? But okay. I went with it.
I am going to start this, what I hope is a mini-vent off with what I think of the photo submitted first. There is NO doubt it was a huge blunder. The week proceeding was already a fire storm demanding proof of life, relationship, and just about everything else you could throw into the mess. This was no time to release anything touched up whatsoever, and even for myself who loves and supports this wonderful person... the lack of wearing at the least her wedding band was just not a good look to send out worldwide. I do not care WHEN she wears or does not her dang rings privately. But now was not the time. I do believe she had good intentions and was just being naive. But she has been around the block for over two decades and firmly involved and in the trenches to what amounts to a modern-day War of the Roses.
Someone did not have her back.
Now to my main points, real concerns, and what are the TRUE problems, according to just little me, sitting in my cheap director's chair and calling out the scenes currently playing on the world stage.
People. This is going to pass. This is just the latest in the drama and the saga since Meghan Markle hit the royal family. The real danger from my view is not the photo or Catherine's intentions. The escalation and apparent hysteria of what could be real danger is truthfully what is my focus. When news agencies are checking the place of origin, metadata, timestamps, editing, and making judgements on integrity and the future of the monarchy based on a simple photo for Mother's Day... we have a HUGE issue. It is now far past time for the Wales family to be better secured, the British government to step in and take care of the obvious dangers that are growing exponentially, and priorities addressed as to the future.
I am FAR more concerned about William and his family at this point being safe, secure in where they are living, and the future of each of them an absolute priority. It is time for all involved with their protection and well-being to deal with what is so obviously happening. And I feel for William who most likely has the world, literally, on his shoulders. But it is for him to take the first stand.
This is not about a photo. This is a shot over the bow on the global stage.
Catherine dearest. Just heal please. Take care of you first. I will continue to keep you close in thought. You have given everything in honor, love, and duty for over 20 years. You take the time you need.
Going to publish this bad attempt at writing I suppose. Hope the madness ends soon. And I do not mean about a simple picture meant as a greeting to Mother's around the world...

Do you think William's reputation will survive? I feel so sorry for him and Catherine, I had to take a break from social media, the affair rumors are everywhere, everyone is now believing he had an affair, foreign media is now talking about him fathering an illegitimate child with Rose, they are even accusing him of domestic violence and people take it all as a fact.
In the long term big picture, William will be fine. A lot of this is going to be just a paragraph or two when he’s Charles’s age and we’re celebrating a jubilee or the birth of George’s child or Louis’s wedding or Charlotte leading the Lionesses to Olympic Gold and World Cup medals.
But in the short term, yes, William’s reputation will take a hit. What he does next will determine how long it takes for his reputation to climb back up. There are three things that he can do:
Prove that everyone is wrong, that his marriage is fine and he does not have anger management issues.
Go away and not be in the news for a few weeks or months till everyone’s forgotten.
Work. Really crank out the engagements, get his numbers up to spitting distance of Edward’s, and maintain them at that baseline from here on out.
#1 requires becoming more public, and we know that’s not going to happen for the Waleses. That’s fine. History will have to judge on that one. But there is some good news on this front - the Chumleys have had enough and they’ve begun taking legal action on the rumors involving them and their children.
#2 is not happening. William can’t just peace out and not work or be seen for 3-4 months. He’s the heir, it’s his job to be seen and to work, especially when Charles can’t do much because of his own health.
Which leaves us with #3 - work. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. William (and Kate) both need to work more. Their numbers both need to go way up once Kate’s current health crisis is over and she’s back to top form. If they’re not going to work more, that’s fine but they need to show us more of the in-progress work that they’re currently doing and not save it all for the bow-on-top end-result. There’s a reason why the photos and videos of The Queen and Charles working through the red boxes are popular and, at times, iconic - because it shows that they’re working. If just every other week we got a photo of William in a meeting or Kate reading the reports that the Early Years Foundation says she’s been reviewing.
However, the issue with William’s work is that it can’t be a one-and-done. What ever changes they make and whatever the new number is after they’ve scaled up, that has to be the new baseline, the new standard. It must be maintained, otherwise it becomes clear that it was just a PR exercise to distract from these scandals.
Something else I’ve been thinking of a bit lately is the Waleses’ engagement numbers, particularly Kate’s and since accession in 2022. There was a lot of talk throughout 2023 of how disappointing it was that the Waleses turned in the same numbers for 2023 as they did while they were Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, at the bottom of the list. There was an idea on the blogs that everyone understood William and Kate to keep a lower profile through the spring so the attention was rightly focused on Charles and the coronation, but then they’ve should’ve scaled up from late summer onwards, after the anniversary of The Queen’s passing to demonstrate their ability to be heirs and show acceptance of their future.
But now I wonder if Kate’s numbers have been affected by her condition. They haven’t said a whole lot, but what I know of bowel/stomach issues is that they’re usually chronic and people can suffer symptoms for a long time before surgery becomes an option. So with that, perhaps Kate’s numbers didn’t change much last year because she was dealing with these issues? And to save face, the palace made the usual “for the children” excuses until it became emergent and the surgery essential. Just something to think about.

Dear Celta, so now we know, from your last reading, what Camilla is about. She wants power for herself, not to undertake duty for the country but to serve herself and wishing her own bloodline could become the next king. I wonder why she fears William so much. Maybe knowing that William knows what she did to his mother?
Regarding the Pentacles things in your reading ~ I'm reminded again of comments I read in Quora, that Camilla is after the Greville jewelries. Who's to know if some of the items disappear into her pockets? These are personal bequeath, not Crown jewels. And upon his ascension, one of the first things Charles did was booting Angela Kelly out. She took care of all the jewels when our late Queen was alive, she knew where everything was, with her gone, who would know if this necklace or that ring or some such things were to disappear?
Remember that PR piece awhile ago about how Catherine doesn't enjoy jewelries but Camilla does? Well, I think this was Camilla trying pre-justify to the public why she wears all the awesome jewels and leave the tiny ones for Catherine to wear.
And later we saw Catherine wearing a tiny delicate tiara, which was such a little girl kind of tiara. But it was spun as Charles being gracious to Catherine for allowing her to wear a tiara which has not been worn in almost a 100 years.
Just my thoughts, of course. But that reading, it makes me feel sad for William. I hope catherine will get well soon so that he has her by his side undertaking royal duties again.
Hi AranPandora,
I think that Princess Catherine is giving her husband as much support as she can in her condition. I also think that everyone will be relieved when she is well and healed and able to come back to her duties, especially her husband, who I am sure misses her terribly when he is out and about on what should have been combined engagements (I know some of his engagements are single ones and they should be fine as they were always meant to be him by himself).
King Charles, Queen Camilla and jewellery seems to be quite a tangled topic. I remember the PR put out by Queen Camilla and I am still not sure why she did that - it was to have a go at Princess Catherine, yes, and to look better by comparison, I can see that, but I don't know why wearing jewellery is such a wonderful thing? I am obviously missing something here. I also remember King Charles saying that 'the vaults are open' at the same time, which I took as meaning that he was happy for jewels to be worn by those who wanted to do so.
I would hope that all the crown jewels are carefully listed and checked as part of their maintenance. I don't know about the Greville jewels - AFAIK they were left to The Queen Mother, who left them (all of them? some of them?) to her daughter Queen Elizabeth, and I don't know if Her Late Majesty left them to the crown, so they become part of the crown jewels, or if she passed them on to her son in turn.
The tiara who are talking about was the Strathmore Tiara, and it was a big deal to see it again (for me at least :) ). It was given to the Queen Mother by her parents on her wedding day, worn by her in her early years as a married woman, and then retired. It was passed on to the Late Queen Elizabeth when the Queen Mother died, and Her Late Majesty never wore it. We saw it again on Princess Catherine in 2023, exactly 100 years after it was given to the Queen Mother by her parents in 1923. The tiara itself is from the 19th century, so it is quite old, and history counts for more than carats with the aristocratic set, or so I am told.
For me, Princess Catherine wearing the tiara indicated that she was following in the footsteps of the Queen Mother, a much loved member of the BRF and a devoted wife. This is the woman who refused to leave London during The Blitz because she would not leave her husband, and who toured the damage wearing her best clothes and jewels because she said the people deserved to see them (i.e. they deserved to see her dressed up as a sign of respect for their suffering). By wearing the tiara, to me Princess Catherine was declaring a similar devotion to her country and her family.

the ick I feel that harry was basically in love with Catherine. it's no wonder why Harry wouldn't be invited to things after they got married. It's a Tumblr lore but I think this was THE reason why they couple never got along. From the jump, Meghan wasn't getting the same reaction from her own fiancé that her sister in law was. The world wasn't comparing her to the princess of Wales like her sister in law. I mean I'd be freaked out too at that point, but she married him. And I don't think this was something uncovered after the wedding, it's just that the after the wedding her title didn't give her more access to things like she thought it would. Thus it became a much bigger problem in her marriage.
So I had this thought as I was going to bed last night...
Meghan's Squad has always had some main complaints about her time in the BRF, one being that WILLIAM never protected her. He never stood up for her or took on the press on her behalf.
My thoughts at the time were "She has a husband, he should be doing this for her, not her BIL."
But I think I finally get it. We know that her Squad was being fed direct information from Meghan's camp so I have a feeling this was one of her main frustrations.
She felt that William should be her knight in shining armor. Because he is that for Kate.
We know William adores Kate. Loves her beyond belief.
Harry told us how William defended Kate when Meghan was attacked her with the "baby brain" comment. He told Meghan that it wasn't how things were done and pointed his finger at her. He stood up for his wife and made sure Meghan knew, Kate was not to be trifled with because William was firmly on his wife's side...(which is funny because before the wedding Meghan's PR was putting out articles that Meghan and William were thick as thieves and he was taking her side over Catherine's."
William did it calmly and manly.
Then we have the "Norfolk Wars" article about Kate and Rose fighting over who was the hostess with the mostess, which was derived from Meghan's cheating rumors she planted.
William immediately had his attorney's send a letter to the publisher.
The palace denied the story.
Meghan never really had that from Harry. Sure yeah he would scream and yell and throw temper tantrums for her to get her way but Harry isn't Alpha. Meghan likes being the Alpha pulling the strings but deep down she is super attracted to an Alpha male like William.
Meghan wanted that energy defending her...it's why her Squad made such a big deal about how WILLIAM should be defending her.

You know how people say Catherine would be completely fine or probably better off if she didn’t marry William? Honestly, the same can be said about Meghan. I don’t know why she’s holding on to Harry at this point. (Well, perhaps love? lol) She could leave him, become the influencer she always wanted to be, or start whatever lifestyle blog or business she wants. Look at other former TV actresses who pretty much have the same level of fame Meghan had before Harry. Like Nina Dobrev, Dianna Agron, even Abigail Spencer. They attend fashion shows, travel, look glamorous enough on their instagram pages. If she didn’t marry Harry, she could probably be doing those things right now. Honestly I’m wondering if Meghan thinks Harry was even worth it. The princess experience of wearing a tiara, riding a carriage while waving to hundreds of people of the UK during their wedding was probably worth it though. I guess if it didn’t happen for her, she probably wouldn’t have been satisfied anyway and would always be wondering how high she could still go. Honestly I just kinda see Meghan right now as someone who had her dreams at the palm of her hands, but those dreams were thwarted somehow and she can’t get over the pain of losing them so she’s still somehow trying desperately to hold on to them.
Meghan wanted fame, and as a homely looking D list actress she had zero chance of attracting a A list actor. So she found a homely looking Prince instead.

My thoughts on the Coronation Dress Code
Alright so I am just chiming in all the drama about the flower crown. A journalist on CTV said that they expect more information this week including the dress code.
1- Don’t blame Catherine
On their anniversary yesterday, I rewatched William and Catherine’s wedding and it is traditional and almost historical in how it was executed. The vows, the dresses, the service, etc. The woman who made the cake talked about how involved Catherine was and her interest in history and art history in the iconography of the cake. Also take a look at Catherine’s bday photos:
Tumblr media
They are literally the old world of royal photographs. She has always been a traditionalist in her approach. I 100% believe that William and Catherine’s coronation will be far more traditional and better than Charles and Camilla. Because William is the more “modern monarchy” type of guy but I think he doesn't care enough to involve himself in the coronation. I think like Philip, Catherine will organize it and take care of the history and aesthetics.
2- Charles is cringe
If this flower thing goes through then it is a Charles aesthetic. Someone on Twitter analyzed the Carolean aesthetic and flowers and plants is his main thing.  Like that screen instead of the gorgeous canopy. The dress code is part of the plan of Charles to make his coronation look cheap honestly. And I wouldn't put it past him to make sure that all eyes are on Camilla. I got hate for saying this but Camilla truly is dull. This coronation is all Charles and she got nothing. Catherine will not be like that for her coronation. I don't blame the Earl Marshal because these days there is hardly any respect for these positions. I bet he has to say yes to what Charles says and there is no other option. The funerals organized by him were well done because the Queen and Prince Philip had laid out the plans and they had a good sense unlike their son.
3- Hope
I still think there is some hope for the dress. These are the ladies in waiting at Queen Victoria’s coronation:
Tumblr media
Catherine might go for a similar aesthetic. A small tiara (the halo one) and then flowers in the hair. Interestingly, robes are not worn by everyone either. I wonder if Queen Victoria’s coronation might be the inspiration.
@helenaaurellia Can you provide more analysis regarding Victoria’s coronation and Charles’?

WME Invictus Games and London in the spring by u/SherbetTurbulent9787
WME, Invictus Games and London in the spring 🎶🎼 There is so much being made of the IG service being held in London in March (in a crypt apparently so nicely tone-deaf there. Right on brand for the dimwit) Predictably for the duo none of it is actually about the veterans. Instead, there are countless Harkle puff pieces about reconciliation with the RF and them being invited to kiss and make up while they're attending the IG. One day it's KC who's just desperate for his sons to be back together but Prince William won't relent! Today I saw a sinner had posted an article saying that Catherine will "put aside her ego"(the bare faced audacity of H&M!!) to make KC and POW happy because they both want the Harkes back!? It makes me wonder if this is their absolute, final, last chance with WME? (I know, I know, we've heard "last chance" until ou ears are bleeding) Have they been told that if they can't go to London and be seen to get some kind of relationship back on track with the RF then their representation by WME is done? I believe they still have time in their Netflix contract too even though it seems NF are just running out the clock. The latest puff pieces seem to have a different tone and feel to them than even their usual will they/won't they and the person who is allegedly preventing the reconciliation changes on a daily basis 😂. We'll know after the IG service if/when they go on their usual attack blitz when they don't get what they want - and they won't get what they want. Maybe Megaliar just wants to extend an olive branch to King Charles and give him a once in a lifetime opportunity to become part of a future billion dollar brand by merging Highgrove Estate with the soon-to-be global sensation that is...(checks notes) American Riviera Orchard, which as we know is the perfect name! 😂. Maybe they think if they play nice by attempting to, once again, bully the RF via PR in the press into doing what they want they might not be too late to get an invitation to the wedding of the year! Oh sorrry! I forgot they were invited! They received a Save the Date card didn't they? 😂 They're just so gracious they declined so it wouldn't be awkward! A Decade Through Time: The Alderberg Legacy: Year 1605
This year was... more dramatic then it should be 😅
From the Beginning I Currently
Tumblr media
It was the beginning of 1605 when the tragic news spread about a mysterious fire starting in the Dagworth House.
Tumblr media
According to Mary Kellogg , the maid of the household , a fire started in the drawing room where poor Elisabeth Dagoworth , whom was been falling ill took a nap.
Tumblr media
 Somehow a fire started and the room was caught in the fames and Elisabeth tragically past away. If truth be told , Mary did not start the fire which killed her predecessor - sure , she had indeed poisoned her , but only to the degree that it would mimic a illness. Elisabeth herself most have bumped into a candle stick or got to close to the fireplace and a spark caught her night dress on fire.
Tumblr media
But she was grateful for the event , because she got Hubert where she wanted him. Mary knew how to play people , her own parents didn’t know of her true nature of maliciousness and wicked schemes.
Tumblr media
Mary would tell Hubert sweet lies and tender nothings , slowly poisoning him with kind words and loving looks.
Tumblr media
It didn’t take long before Hubert started to fall madly in love with Mary and yearning for her ,heart, soul and body.
Tumblr media
2 months after Elisabeth’s passing , Hubert and Mary were wed in the Dagworth home in a private ceremony to avoid other from objecting to their “love”. It took 2 years , but Mary finally got what she wanted and she’s gonna keep it.
Tumblr media
While her evil cousin scheme was finally completed, Avigail Friswell spend some alone time with her brand new daughter: Theodora.
Tumblr media
Her pregnancy and recovery had been rough , so it felt blissful to see how healthy her daughter truly was. Now Avigail and Garitt had 4 healthy children , yet it didn’t feel like it was enough. Maybe 1 more baby would be enough?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile at the Horthall Hall , Barbara enjoyed her 30th birthday in peace and quite , drinking delicious tea and writing letters to merchants of Outland and beyond. She even started to plan for Jasper’s upcoming  betrothal , although it was a bit early as he was just 10 years old.
During the second quarter of 1605 , Philip Alderberg , the son of William and Rebecca celebrated his 20th birthday.
Tumblr media
His former personality had returned from once before: A good natured , charismatic man who suffered nightly traumas. Yet another trait has been form from him because of all this unstable changes: He had a unbelievably harsh tongue that could spit out venomous words if angered, just like his mother Rebecca once was.
Tumblr media
Unlike his childhood and teenhood staying all day at the farm playing chess , Phil has been going out more. Whereto, this Griffyn didn't know. Just that he would sometimes ask for coin and would be back either very satisfied or seething with anger. Griffyn did wonder what Phil was doing , but he wouldn’t put his nose in his affairs.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile at the Kellogg farm , Anne was spending time with her now toddler granddaughter , Grace Stanwix , who reminded Anne so much of Sybil at this age , it was like reliving the past when she was young and her family intact. It was shattered now , bits and pieces scattered around Outland , buried or forgotten by choice.
Tumblr media
Her John would never know his granddaughter, neither would Sybil , Isaac or Nathaniel, but Anne knew they would all have love this little girl so very much. If Catherine knew of her niece and her sisters fate,  Anne would know she would love her unconditionally. Mary seemed to have forgotten all about her older half-sister and her family , she rarely even acknowledged her and her father now days.
Tumblr media
9 months after their wedding , Mary & Hubert welcomed their first child- a little boy named Tobias. Mary was glad she had a boy on her first try , she took special enjoyment knowing that he was her parents only living grandson.
Tumblr media
She was petty like that. Mary didn’t know about Catherine and her girls , nor did she care. Catherine was dead to her , and Sybil was actually dead with only a poor orphan daughter that was all left of her two offspring. But Mary had her son , the perfect pawn in a grand new scheme.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile , at the Alderberg home a mysterious and angry visitor paid Phil a unwanted and embarrassing visit.
Tumblr media
A young and heavily pregnant lady stormed up to Phil,  yelling and screaming at him , calling him all the foul words in the simlish-language could offer her! Griffyn was thankful that his children was inside the house , he didn’t want them to hear those words until they were teenagers.
Tumblr media
The young woman , Emma Jones , explained everything.
Tumblr media
 Philip had started to go to the Horthall Rose a few time a week , to drink , dance and play cards.
Tumblr media
Emma was a tavern maid and would regular play a game or two while on break. One day , Emma lost all her coin to Phil and he told her that “they could work something out".
Tumblr media
And that "something" led her to discover months later that she was pregnant with his child! And she be damned if her baby was born out of wedlock , she asked him time and time again to do right by her and he would laugh it off!
Tumblr media
After hearing all of this , Griffyn could only see red. He himself called out his brother of his ill behavior , how disappointing and disgusted their parents and Olive would have been if they were alive and knew all about this!
Tumblr media
Mentioning Olive always made Phil’s heart hurt , because she was his twin and he loved her more then anything, and Griffyn knew this and hurt him where it hurt the most. The Older brother gave his younger brother two options:
Marry Emma , support her and his unborn child.
or leave , because he would not have him in his house!
Tumblr media
Philip , begrudgingly , choose the first option. If it truly was the right choice , it was unknown.
Tumblr media
A marriage built out of hasty and angry decisions were always unwise. But to make the blow less harsh and the future less stormy  , Griffyn promised them Uncle Nicholas house in the village, that has been empty since his death, hoping that having a home of their own will help them grow as both partners and family...
Tumblr media
To end this year on a less dramatic note , Caleb was now 6 years old and was now a independent child. Caleb was a difficult child regarding his mood , as he always seem to be grumpy over something, yet if you show him something interesting or tell him a story his eyes would glimmer and ask questions after questions about it, this in turn made him quite adventurous!
Either by fire or poison , Elisabeth Dagworth was still meant to die , because I didn’t start the fire AND PHIL YOU SON OF A LLAMA!
Writing this made me dislike Phil and I¨m thankful he only has 1 kid.
I hope that we will be seeing Elisabeth’s ghost around the Dagworth house since I don’t put down the gravestones of my actual sims , not since the baby and toddler ghost just don’t go back to the underworld.
Fun fact about Tobias Dagoworth: He is actually good & heavy sleeper , two traits opposite of his mother. There might be some drama between them as or if he grows up. Mary has two more baby tries scheduled for 1607 and 1609.
I’m very glad that Grace aged up to a toddler , I really really really want her to live to adulthood. Surprisingly she looks a lot like her evil aunt.
I actually choose Caleb’s child trait , adventurous , because he would need that for traveling over seas to a new world.

H&M Documentary Review: Episode 1
(my commentary in italics)
- all interviews were finished by August 2022. Members of the Royal Family declined to comment (no shit)
- starting off strong with phone footage at the “Windsor Suite” at Heathrow, seemed to be taken when they are about to leave for Canada after their farewell tour. They show what I believe is another photo taken at the private quarters at BP (also this proves they want to do this all along).
- very raw and totally genuine footage (not) of Meghan in Vancouver taken at the Russian oligarch’s house
- 2 minutes in and I wish I could speed this up. Bored already.
- Harry: “this is about duty and service and I feel as though being part of this family it is my duty to uncover this exploitation and bribery that happens within our media”.
- “This isn’t just about our story, this is bigger than us” oh what would us mere mortals do without having big H here to protect us from the big bad media thank u king
- Netflix exposing Meghan by showing an interview where they ask her Prince William or Prince Harry in October 2015.....back when girly claimed she did not know who Harry was. Spoke too soon lmfao Harry goes “goes to show how little you knew” (because she couldn’t give a straight answer and the interviewer answered Harry for her)
- private footage of Archie and Lili
- ALSO private photos of the wedding showing George and Charlotte and all the other children who were in the ceremony (wonder if they got approval from ALL the parents before showing their faces like that)
- Harry talking about them sacrificing everything like they were going off to war or something
- ‘why are you making this documentary” short answer: money
- They are talking about consent when it comes to showing their kids...again did William and Catherine consent to have their kids’ faces on your doc?
- not the pics of Jessica Mulroney in a doc TALKING ABOUT RACISM
- they met over Instagram bc a friend in common shared a video of Meghan doing the puppy dog filter on snapchat. You cannot make this shit up.
- Meghan said she didn’t google him because she looked him up on Instagram as she didn’t want to see what other people were saying about him but rather what he chose to put out....babes social media is fake did no one tell you that? googling people is how you find out they are on the record for sex offenders or idk have pictures of them in a n*zi costume
- Meghan texting her friends and being like “you are not going to believe this” before saying she was going on a date with H (literally everyone in this doc calls him H idk why but it drives me insane)
- REALLY bored now
- not them showing text messages between the two gosh
- they are cracking jokes but I’m not laughing
- Meghan saying Harry thought she was straight forward and American for inviting him to dinner herself? Hey girly come join us in the 21st century where women can actually ask men out????like????
- Meghan saying she doesn’t like to be all dolled up and prefers looking like herself while having a 100 coats of mascara on
- okay had to turn up the speed a bit I’m so bored
- Harry: ‘I think for so many people in the family, especially obviously the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit in the mold as opposed to someone perhaps you are destined to be with” probably the worst quote in this doc so far for me, but I’d love for you to elaborate on that H and tell me which men you were talking about
- talking about Diana making all of her decisions with her heart and I have a LOT of opinions on that but I will not be sharing xxxxx
- LOTS of footage of Diana being chased by the press
- bringing people to question the need for a royal family....quick someone tell Harry without the monarchy he wouldn’t have a thing
- they are using footage from a holiday photo call of William, Harry, Eugenie and Bea to talk about the media being invasive but like.....photo calls are arranged by the family??
- they are talking about the press like they are today what they were like back when H was young and I don’t think that’s fair. Yes, they still suck but there’s more protection especially for the children and they obviously refuse to admit that.
- not him bringing up the Panorama interview...Harry I’m begging you to develop some common sense.
- H: “I think we all know now she was deceived into giving that interview, but at the same time she spoke the truth of her experience” NO SHE DIDNT!!! THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT!!! That’s why the BBC got in trouble, she was manipulated so NO it wasn’t the truth babes
- interesting....Harry talked about the pain of the women who marry into the institution and it cuts from a picture of Diana and Fergie to Camila, Kate and Sophie
- very interesting that Harry acknowledges how hard it is for women who marry in and the amount of baggage he brings and yet he clearly did not prep Meghan for the role in anyway.
- not the footage of Cressida and Chelsy....again did they consent to this?
- VERY awkward picture of Meghan posing while receiving a facetime call from “HAZ”
- Harry comparing Meghan to Diana; the mommy issues jumped out
- interesting that they used a lot of footage of Archie but only one of Lili so far
- Harry saying he had to put on the “royal hat” when Diana died and go out there and shake hands when Queen Elizabeth II did not want that and wanted to protect him and William as much as possible but the public wasn’t having it....
- Harry admits a lot of the stories about him back when he was in Eton are true but also exaggerated.....interesting because they were talking about him doing hard drugs here.
- lots of footage of Harry in Lesotho and people gushing about how awesome he is. Don’t care.
- “Harry is a warrior in spirit and he is a warrior in character” sure jane
- Also for all this talk about him and Lesotho I feel like he hasn’t been back in years?? or at least not publicly. They brought a friend from Eton and the Prince of Lesotho who again Harry probably hasn’t seen in ages. Maybe because any recent friends Harry had are gone.
- Harry said the woman he met twice is coming to Botswana to sleep in a tent* luxury camp site
- the name dropping of restaurants gosh we get it, you go to nice places MOVE ON
- they are now talking about all the issues that come with being a member of the Royal Family like needing the monarch’s permission to marry, not getting to pick your own religion, living in a gilded cage; babes let’s talk about all the privileges
- pictures of Eugenie, Jack, Harry and Meghan at a Halloween party.....oh Eugenie.....
That’s it for episode 1 guys! This post is longer than I expected and probably very messy (sorry) but overall....not impressed. Very boring doc, not a lot of new information and the only interesting thing so far have been the private photos.
I was hoping to make this post going through the events of the doc chronologically but I feel like nothing really happened and it was all over the place? Main things they talked about tho were the beggining of their relationship and a little introduction to the RF’S relationship with the media.
Kinda don’t want to sit through two more hours of this but onto episode 2!

Do you actually think Harry is going to say anything bad in his book? He’s obviously going to talk about William because that’s his brother and they have shared experiences but I don’t see him saying anything horrible
Oh definitely, he needs to do it but he will probably do it in a roundabout way and that will also depend on the person he is talking about. You mention William and I don't think he will say something directly bad about him but he will talk about him.
If you think about it he and his wife have never said anything "bad" about William, she hasn't even mentioned him, correct me if I'm wrong, only he has. And I've always found that interesting.
In KP the boss was William, who ran the Household was his private secretary, William was in charge, you could say but he has never been mentioned by them. I've always wondered if it's out of fear or if it's a limit that Enrique set: We don't speak ill of William. The times he has mentioned William, Henry hasn't necessarily said anything negative about him, I think the only thing he has said is that William is trapped but I don't remember anything else apart from that. Instead, he mentioned that they were on different paths but that he knew he would always be there for him etc., and the way he said it, the tone in which he spoke about him wasn't dry or bitter, on the contrary, he sounded… happy. The times we have seen them together Henry has seemed eager, nervous but happy at William's side. We saw that at Philip's funeral, at the unveiling of the statue in Diana's honour and at the Walkabout at Windsor. He is happy to be around William or at least that's what I have seen so I find it interesting that he seems to respect William but not his wife. He allowed his wife to drag Catherine into her drama, not caring about the consequences or how it would affect William.
Rachel's attitude around William has always been interesting to me as well. She always, then and now, seems nervous around him but at the same time almost dazzled. They are weird.
Back to your question, I don't think he would say anything bad about William like, he hates him, he made hurtful comments about my wife for example but I do see him talking about him, in what way, I don't know.
I think I sound like a broken record saying this but they NEED to talk about the monarchy, not necessarily in a negative way but preferably because that is their narrative. Henry's life has not been interesting, I think the only thing is that he served for 10 years and nothing else, anything else that could be considered interesting about him is not really about him but in relation to him. I don't know if that makes sense. Look, I think his book will contain these issues:
Diana, life with Diana, life after Diana, who he thinks is to blame for Diana's death, what Diana wanted for his life and what Diana would have thought of his wife if she were still alive. His relationship with his father, how his father was absent. His relationship with the Queen. Her childhood with William. His adolescence. His time serving in the military. What he experienced there. What his life was like after his military service. His ex-girlfriends and how they didn't like that life. How he was for a long time William and Catherine's third wheel. His role within the monarchy. Invictus. Meeting Rachel. Their whole love story. Their life after they got engaged. The wedding. The dramas before and after the wedding. That he hates the press. The lies. The institution refusing to protect them. The unhappy wife. How when their son was born he confirmed that he had to leave if they wanted to be happy. How the decision was hard to make. The reaction of his family. His new life.
I don't think he will talk too much about his wife's "experience" because the book is about him and because she probably wants to talk about it herself, either in a book, an interview or a "historical documentary".
Throughout all those chapters he will blame EVERYONE and will not acknowledge any responsibility. I don't know if he will talk about his racist past. We shall see.

I know Westminster Abbey is a Royal Peculiar, and a part of the CoE churches, but who do you think does their administration / runs their social media? I’m just wondering because whomever it is seems really supportive of William and Catherine in particular, posting on their anniversary with wedding pictures, reminders of Catherine’s carol services, and also posting photos of them whenever they have an engagement there. I love it!
Westminster Abbey has an entire media and pr department. Their Deputy Head of Communications indicates on her LinkedIn page that she initially started working there on a contract position to cover a secondment to Buckingham Palace. This makes me think that the staff at Westminster Abbey (and all of the Royal Peculiar's most likely) have a very close link with Buckingham Palace and are therefore going to be loyal to The Crown.
That said, whoever runs their social also knows that since William and Catherine were married at Westminster Abbey that's a large reason why royal watchers would be at all familiar with the site and it's part of the reason (but not at all the only reason) why it's a large tourist attraction, so of course they're going to play that up.

Diana, Philip, & William
Once again I learned a couple of new things about/from the BRF.
In a lengthy, revealing article about Diana, Princess of Wales in the Vanity Fair July 2007 issue this segment about Prince William was revealing:
The propinquity of Eton to Windsor meant William had forged a close bond with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. Sometimes in the evening the boy would go for a walk in Windsor Great Park with Prince Philip, eagerly responding to his grandfather’s tough code and sense of humor, which Prince Charles had always scorned. Having failed with his own son, Philip saw William as the boy he had always wished he’d had. They shared a passion for military history. It pleased Diana, but it also made her jealous. William was her closest confidant. “She told me she had with her son William very private and very profound conversations,” Roberto Devorik said, “and he was an extraordinary moral support.” William was older than his years, burdened as much by his mother’s confidences as by his future responsibilities; she had taken him through the divorce terms before she agreed to them. She began including him in some of her lunches at Kensington Palace with the press.
“All my hopes are on William now,” she told me. “I’m hoping he will grow up to be as smart about handling the media as John Kennedy Jr.” But William was not John F. Kennedy’s son. He was the heir to the British throne. However much William might look like her and smile like her, he belonged as surely to Prince Charles and the Crown as to Lady Diana Spencer—perhaps more. Inevitably, William would have to become Windsorized. As England’s future King, it was his destiny.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stories of William spending time with his grandmother QEII are fairly well known, but I know less about his time with his grandfather Philip who it sounds as though in his own way tried to be a stabilizing factor in William's young life. I can see some of how/why the passion for preserving the environment that William shares with his father Charles is strong: it was important to a stabilizing male influence, Prince Philip.
I can also see that members of his family invested many of their own hopes heavily in William, too much IMO. (William was not the son Philip never had or the future monarch Elizabeth hoped Charles would be as I read her between the lines. Nor should he have been Diana's confidante in lieu of a spouse. Diana's greatest fault may have been how she handled her boys, William in particular...reviewing her divorce terms with him was a new one to me.) A child is more than a family's chance to rectify mistakes made with previous generations.
It's a wonder that he did not crack under the pressure or turn from the family (a la Harry) applying it. What I find truly incredible, though, is how he's navigated his life. Things have not turned out for William quite how the 2007 VF article predicted. He belongs to nothing or no one but his wife and children. He will be king should the monarchy continue because he considered the path that was set before him and chose it. (Which makes Harry's assertions W is trapped incorrect. Perhaps Harry's anger at feeling trapped himself has something to do with knowing on some level he could not function well without his family.)
Where did William get the strength and wisdom to make such subtle distinctions? My money is on a combination of things, e.g., his own "steeliness" (Richard Kay) and internal compass, and a dash of his grandmother's sense of duty and deft diplomacy. First and foremost are the influences of Catherine and the Middleton family model.
The prayer they wrote for their wedding says it well. This is a life worth living, a path worth following:
...In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy.
Strengthened by our union help us to serve and comfort those who suffer. We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Time will tell as to results. William and Catherine's children, along with Edward and Sophie's, are the first ones to benefit from a dual royal/middle class heritage. For now, in William Britain has a royal husband, father, and future king unique among British royals past or present.
Though the royal spotlight shines brightly, it does not reveal every aspect of King Charles. For 45 years, he was a royal photographer for The Sun, accompanying the British royals on 200 tours in over 120 countries and photographing seven royal weddings, five funerals, and seven births. Edwards, 82, exclusively spoke with PEOPLE about his new photo book, Behind the Crown: My Life Photographing the Royal Family, and what the public doesn't know about the King and Queen Consort.
Describing the death of Queen Elizabeth as "the end of an era," Edwards said he felt compelled to put pen to paper. The photographer awarded a Member of the British Empire for his services to newspapers in 2003, has been a click away from Charles, 74, since 1977.
"I saw this make these statements about architecture and organic food and saving the sea from plastic and realized he was just trying to help," Edwards says. "As he said, 'Not for me, but for my children and grandchildren," I felt he was a lovely person to work with and wanted to put it all down."
The veteran cameraman says this drive to make a difference is what people don't know about his 70-year reign as king, but he wasn't going to sort of just sit there and play backgammon and shoot champagne. He was going to make a difference, and he did. He's a pioneer for the underdog. "If a big supermarket was coming to a village where all the local shops would be destroyed, he'd fight for the townlet," he says.
"He's just a genuinely nice man, and so he's off to a great start as king, and I believe the public is now on his side." I went to Bolton, a northern English town, about three weeks ago and saw crowds of 30 people because "Prince of Wales," Edwards, has become a megastar, similar to a rock star, and everyone wants to see him. It's strange now to sing "God Save the King" instead of "God Save the Queen, things have changed."
The royal photographer reported in November that Charles gets up to "do his best and tell PEOPLE he thinks the royal will continue to lead from the heart as monarch."
"This monarchy's been going since William the Conqueror, over a thousand years, and it's a tough job to keep it going. And only there because of what he says. "But so far, the people are supporting him want him to succeed, and I think he's going to. He's got his son William and his wonderful wife, Catherine. They're following on lovely children, George and Louis. So the royal family's in pretty good shape."
"One of the main roles Charles had in his life was to make William into a good King, and William's job now is to make George a good King, because so he's still enjoying going to school and playing with his friends," Edwards says of the destinies ahead for Prince William, 41, and Prince George, 9, given their positions in the line of succession.
"But one day am going to have to assume this job. And it's a terrible thing to do. You're in this electronic goldfish bowl all the time and dissect it. There's always somewhere ready to snipe then that.
Reflecting on how Princess Diana changed the royal family forever, Edwards says he "stuck" with Charles in the years after her death in 1997.
"I was often only the one person on the plane going out there with him or Saudi Arabia. People weren't bothering. They 'Diana's gone, that's it, over.' But it wasn't over because he was doing some amazing work. And I was getting pictures," he says.
When Camilla stepped more formally into the spotlight around 2004, Edwards says she brought fresh new energy tour the United States to eat it, which no royal would do! But she did. She really enjoyed it," he says. "And I remember saying, 'Diana would never do that.' But she was different. And she brought a whole new meaning to Prince Charles. He's now a much happier person. He's contented. And he always refers to her as 'my darling wife.' "
The couple is set to celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary in April, and Edwards agrees that Queen Camilla, 75, brings out the best in King Charles. In Behind the Crown, he writes that she "has such a wonderful sense of fun" and "has brought a spring to Charles' step."
"The thing about Camilla, which is her strongest point, is she never lost the common touch makes him laugh. I've got pictures of them in the book just laughing together," Edwards says. "She's just always there to support him, and that's her way," he adds, explaining that this makes her a "great asset" to the nation.
As Buckingham Palace prepares for the historic coronation in May, Edwards, as ever, will be on the ground taking pictures going to be a great day, and then we've got the big concert the next day and street parties. We do know how to have a good party here," he says of the festivities. "I hope the weather's nice for him, but the crowds will be huge. It's something to look forward to."
Hello CC!
I read about the thing of Meghan retaining Diana’s pieces without permission. Unless Harry gave them to her as in he had them as his share I don’t see her having unwatched access to D’s collection.
She has worn very few items and the only known ones are the aquamarine ring, the cartier watch and the tennis bracelet (this one imo not that much associated with Diana). If Harry had major pieces and, most importantly, gave Meghan the possibility to wear them, she would have already worn them. My assumption is that the private collection of Diana that was divided between the brothers doesn’t have any recognizable jewelry that would immediately scream Diana. I mean the sapphire and emerald chokers, her sapphire pieces and also the pearl lovers knot tiara are synonymous of Diana. There are other pieces like the aquamarine earrings and bracelet or the big pearl choker with ruby details or the amethyst demiparure that are famous and recognizable not by everyone but by the majority.
I do wonder if any of these last pieces are in Harry’s possession but didn’t want to share them with her. Could this be an interesting idea for a reading? Is Harry voluntarly keeping Meghan from wearing some recognizable pieces of his mother? Maybe he wants his daughter to be the first to wear them after his mom.
I also suspect that the aquamarine ring was actually in William’s share (private collection), but as a sort of present for the wedding he lent it to Meghan to wear it on the wedding reception night. It could be he allowed her to keep it for the australian tour or she didn’t give it back at all thinking it was Harry’s right to have a Diana iconic ring too after William and Kate had the sapphire one.
I just wish Catherine was more inclined to wear Diana’s pieces so many mysteries could be solved. I think she pulls out those pieces when ready to do so, so I’m looking forward to see what other piece she will unveil next. My bet is on the Saudi sapphire demiparure (big stud sapphire earrings and matching single sapphire pendant with the matching bracelets). Maybe for a diplomatic reception or a state banquet. I hope Charles will dust one of the sapphire tiaras in the royal collection to give to Catherine. My other dream would be seeing Catherine with the Greville emerald tiara. We know she has emeralds to go with it 😁
Hi Nonny,
You make some good points. A lot of the jewellery that Princess Diana wore was the property of the crown, so of course it went back to the crown when she left the BRF or when she died (I don’t know if she was allowed to keep any pieces from the crown after the divorce; I suspect not but you never know). These pieces include the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, and I suspect that it frustrates Meghan that this tiara is on permanent loan to Princess Catherine, so she never had a chance to wear it during her brief sojourn in the BRF.
I would love to know how the private jewellery of Princess Diana was divided. As you said, Meghan has worn very few of her iconic pieces, with the most noticeable one being that big aquamarine ring. I agree with you that if Meghan had access to the iconic pieces of Princess Diana’s jewellery, she would have worn them by now.
I will add that tarot reading to my list. :)
I see two rumours going around on this topic: one is that Meghan has absconded with pieces of Princess Diana’s jewellery and refuses to return them, the other that Meghan has absconded with Jewellery that belongs to the crown, and refuses to return them (this latter rumour has identified the missing jewellery as the pieces Meghan wore to her reception, apparently per a royal dresser who has now retired). I don’t know if either, both, or none of these rumours are true.
I wish we could know what pieces of Princess Diana’s private jewellery were given to Princess Catherine as well. We will find out one day, I am sure.
