Well, based on my own understanding, it got to do with Masanori got 'adopted' by a demon cat since he was very young, he is a dog but due to that, he develops tendencies that's similar to a cat instead of dog, which kinda let him having existential crisis. Think of it as having a dog hardware with cat software.

A small voice from behind him caused the father to turn and see his beautiful daughter in the kimono, her hair drawn back by a modest but elegant kanzashi.

“You look beautiful, just like your mother.” Tadatomo couldn’t help an honest compliment as he motioned for her to come sit down on a chair and stepped back. 

With her brother taking his post behind her like a warrior watching over his charge, the two grinned at each other before looking forward at the camera. Hajime beamed proudly, and Himawari gave a reserved but unmistakeably happy smile. Sunlight streamed through the cherry blossoms as the petals fell around them. The siblings have attended flower viewings before, but this year the two seemed especially happy.

Mc2 as Irisviel Von Einzbern. She basically the wishes and hope for the Holy grail Wish. Spoiler alert////She doesn’t get to see the end too. She is sacrificed for the sake of fulfilling others. I think Toji or Shino is best to use in place of Kiritsugu.
