Ravi is what the A shift needs. Someone with great self-esteem, who has their life sorted, a stable life and someone who actually doesn't let his past define him (hope we learn more about Ravi). Ravi showing up being the change the 118 needs but didn't know they needed is honestly sweet.
AND HOPEFULLY THE WRITERS DON'T KILL HIM OFF OR HAVE HIM LEAVE
Idk if you watch Ted Lasso, Anon, but Ravi’s line about liking who he is and being glad he doesn’t have to replace Buck/try to be Buck reminded me so much of the scene in season one where Jamie, asked if he would prefer to be a lion or a panda, says, “I’m me. Why would I want to be anything else?” Which I just thought was funny
To be completely fair, we don’t know that he actually has his life together outside of the station. He seems to be pretty sure of himself and pretty functional, sure, but we don’t know what his home life is. He could — somehow — be exactly as weird and wild as our folks and just better at hiding it. He did go off by himself to find some buried treasure, after all, so he’s definitely got some wild hairs to him.
And obviously we have him now because Chimney is away, so I don’t know if we’ll get to keep him as a minor character in the background once Chim gets back. I have no confirmation for this from anything official, but it seems to me like he’s currently filling the role in the story that would’ve gone to Albert if not for John Harlan Kim getting a role on Nancy Drew, so as long as that continues we may continue to have Ravi at the 118 demonstrating what normal work-life boundaries look like to the utter bafflement of our friends. And maybe other boundaries too, as the show progresses. Like what it means to be in a platonic friendship with someone there is otherwise no barrier to you dating.
