Battle: New Lumos (Miitopia [2016])

Here’s another super popular track, which like with Snake Eater weeks back, just felt wrong to exclude under all circumstances. Aside from pointing out that all but 1 of the 4 composers for the soundtrack worked on Rhythm Heaven Megamix and America’s Test Kitchen, there’s nothing significant I can really add to the great things many have already said about this instant classic for years to come! I think it's safe to say that Miitopia is the full-fledged RPG that a large crowd of Nintendo fans wished Find Mii I & II was, and so, that wish was granted.

Interesting fact though, these composers started composing Nintendo game music as late as 2004/2008, or 2015 in Yumi Takahashi’s case; an encouraging story for any new composer willing to make musical masterpieces, especially together! Players of Miitopia say this is a harsh postgame area to fight in; saving some of the best music in the game for last, I suppose!

Chapter 6: You're Not my Dad.

The team meets Greenhorne Kingdom's monarch, but Lancer's worried about talking to him.

"Halt!" A soldier told the group as they attempted to get to the castle. "State your purpose."

"Mayor Dudley gave us this letter, and–" Silver began.

"Go right ahead, travelers." He told the chef.

"Thanks!"

On their way to Castle Greenhorne, Lancer got separated from everyone, but reunited quickly afterwards.

"I found a potion bottle!" He showed the team the red/orange bottle he found. "Maybe it'll be a healing one!"

"Lance, you shouldn't drink random bottles–" Jimi started. Her plea fell onto deaf ears as Lancer drank the potion. He coughed and stuck his tongue out in disgust.

"Bleh, not good."

At the inn, the team discussed the king, and Jimi noticed that Lancer looked uncomfortable.

"Shouldn't've drinken that potion." She told him.

"It's not that. I'm... nervous."

"Why?" Kumatora asked.

"The King? That's my dad." Lancer admitted.

The group was shocked at the revelation. "Seriously?!"

"Yep. I'm a prince." Lancer yawned and got into a bed. "I'm pretty tired. Let's rest up."

The next day, the four of them plus Pinkie Pie made their way to the throne room and saw a metallic creature made of blades. He introduced himself as Kingambit.

"That's your dad?" Silver asked. "I don't see any resemblence."

"I thought they were talking about my dad. I have no idea why, considering this isn't even his castle." Lancer blushed embarrassedly. He got out a King of Spades card with a drawing of a creature that looked like an older version of him with a second mouth on its stomach. "That's him."

"Ohhhh."

While the quartet was distracted, Dark Lord Stan took the opportunity to steal Kingambit's face.

"...and that's how my friend Susie almost killed me. Hey, does anyone else hear screaming?" Lancer asked.

Kumatora looked up and saw that Kingambit had lost his face. "The Dark Lord stole Kingambit's face!"

"Let's go save him!" Jimi shouted.

Chapter 5: Pinkie Promise

The group saves the rest of Greenhorne town, then meets a new companion.

I don't skip over important bosses (Ones that play Boss Battle 2 or Boss Battle 3, the Dark Lord, and [Spoilers!])

"Only one more person to save!" Silver grinned as they smacked a mouse with a woman's face and defeated it. "You're welcome, Pookie!"

The woman's face smiled and floated back to Greenhorne, and the team continued east. They made it to a pretty cavern and fought their way through the banshees and slimes.

"S-S-Silver..." Jimi sobbed. "I don't know why I'm sad... b-but..."

"The banshees made you cry. It's okay." Silver hugged Jimi and scratched behind her ears.

"B-b-but..." Lancer sniffled and wiped his nose with his shirt sleeve.

Kumatora sighed. "We're fine. It's nothing sad. They're just trying to throw you off." She wiped Lancer's tears away and hugged him. "Let's go."

"Thanks, Kuma. Let's go."

The group left the other side of the cavern and got a beautiful view of Castle Greenhorne. They were so focused on the view that they didn't notice that Dark Lord Stan was in front of them, with a faceless imp. He summoned the face of the old lady from Greenhorne and slapped it onto the imp.

"Clara!" Silver yelled. "We'll save you!"

The battle was tough, but the group was tougher. Clara's face flew back to Greenhorne, and the party celebrated. They went back to town and talked to everyone they saved.

Mayor Dudley thanked the travelers and gave them a letter of introduction to meet King Reggie. The team thanked him and went to the castle. On the way, they found a light pink pony with blue eyes and a curly pink mane. She was being attacked by goblins.

"Help, anyone!" She shouted in a high voice.

The travelers found and saved the pony, who thanked them and introduced herself.

"I'm Pinkie Pie. I have no idea where I am or why I'm here. I lost my powers when I entered this world, and I don't know how to get back. Can I join you?" She asked.

"Yeah!" Lancer said with a grin. "Let's go!"

"Sounds like a good plan." Kumatora agreed.

"The more the merrier!" Jimi purred.

"I don't think–" Silver began.

"Look. Even Jimi wants Pinkie Pie to join the team. You can't say no to her!" Lancer smiled.

"Okay. Welcome to the party." Silver told the pony.

"Yay! Let's have some fun!"
