Where is Handmaid's right now in terms of prepping for the final season?
EM: I want everyone to know we're prepping it. We're working on it. We're trying. And yes, so we are prepping right now and we start shooting this summer.
I mean we started prepping late last winter. Scripts started coming in. We're doing a bit of a pre-prep period because it's a final season. So it's a big season. So we wanted some additional time.
Can you say how many episodes? Are you planning to direct any?
EM: I don't know what I can say. Cause we haven't announced how many I'm directing.

In an interview with Deadline, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, who oversees content for Hulu Originals, said the sixth season now is set to begin production this summer for premiere in 2025.
A follow-up to the series from creator Bruce Miller, The Testaments, is actively being developed. Based on the Margaret Atwood novel of the same name, the new series picks up years after the events of Season 6.
