Why You Don’t “Feel Like That Sign”
Here’s an informational post about why some people may not feel like a sign in one of it’s positions.
1st: Always check that you have the correct birth time, an incorrect birth time throws everything off in a chart. For example, it can change the sign of many things (your rising sign is completely based off of your birth time), it can change the degree of signs and therefore change, get rid of, or make new/create different aspects in your chart, plus a sign’s degree tells much about the energy it has, and each degree has a unique energy (some degrees are more important than others). It’s very likely that you could not feel like that position because of the wrong birth time.
2nd: ASPECTS COME FIRST. When trying to identify/analyze a planet or position (like the ascendant or midheaven) in your chart, look at the aspects it makes in your chart FIRST. Aspects can either weaken a placement’s energy, strengthen it, or make it not so prominent when compared to the other placements/positions in your chart. Aspects need to be analyzed first, then the house position, then the actual sign interpretation. For example, I’ve never felt much like a Libra ascendant because my ascendant’s (main chart planets) aspects are all squares except one trine to my Venus, and the squares are to my Sun, Moon, Mars, Uranus, and Neptune. Those squares severely weaken my Ascendant’s energy, and makes it a weak spot (a point of great conflict) in my chart. Make sure the aspects are in line with the orb allowance for a planet or chart position though, for asteroids I don’t do an orb allowance more than 4 degrees, but for the luminaries (sun and moon) I do an orb allowance up to 10 degrees because of how important they are in a chart but any aspect with the sun or moon over 10 degrees is disregarded.
3rd: The decan and degree your sign is in means SO MUCH. 1st decan signs are in their purest form, however, the second decan and the third decan differs much. For example, a 3rd decan Libra rising (like myself) is under the influence of Mercury and Gemini, moreso than Venus (as the case with the 1st decan), and therefore it impacts the ascendant’s looks, and actions. 3rd decan Libra risers also focus more on 3rd house themes (since 3rd house is ruled by Mercury and Gemini), so they are more communicative, younger/youthful looking, and much more focused on the mental atmosphere than the other Libra decans. Futhermore, degrees not only determine decans and aspects, but they also determine unique interpretations for that sign under symbolic astrology.
The 29th degree (very last degree) is called the Anaretic degree, and it is often one of the reason’s a person doesn’t feel like their sign. The Anaretic degree wherever it is found in the chart, it causes internal chaos with that sign and the decisions formed from that part of the personality. For example, my Mars is in the 29th degree of Capricorn, I plan heavily, and make sure I have back-up plans if something goes wrong with plan A, however, sometimes I will impulsively act without listening to any of my plans, and jump into the street without looking both ways. That is the epitome of the 29th degree, you may feel the energy of the sign, but then completely and impulsively act completely different. It is the all or nothing degree to me.
There are also Critical Degrees, which cause the energy of the planet from the sign to be sensitive, or strengthening (depending on the degree). If a natal planet is in a critical degree it is more likely to hold more power in the native’s life/personality.  The critical degrees are as followed: 0, 13, and 26 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), 8, 9 and 21, 22 degrees of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius); and 4 and 17 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). You will feel this energy much more than other signs, and if the planet with the critical degree is involved in an aspect, the critical degree planet is going to have much more weight than the other.
4th: Dominant Signs and Planets, Stelliums, and the totality of your chart. It’s important to look at the natal chart as a whole when analyzing a person. For example, a Leo Sun may not have the famous Leo ego because of one of these things, a combination of these things, or all of these things, the aspects the Sun makes in their chart, the house placement, and/or even because another planet/position/energy outshines it. A person with a Leo sun, who ends up being a Scoprio and Pluto dominant person will never truly feel the full identity of a Leo sun (not just because Leo and Scorpio are squared energy, but that is a part of it) because Scorpio and Pluto energy will always be driving their main personality and life events. Also, if a person has a stellium in the 4th house, 4th house issues (roots, homelife, the past, family, parent, moon) with influence every planet in that stellium (and the sign). For example, a 4th house Aquarius Venus may be less concerned with frequent changes of home environment, and exciting partners and more interested in stability/beauty of the home, and a partner that they feel “at home” or comfortable with. So that person may feel less like the “traditional” interpretation for an Aquarius Venus.
It’s all a balance, and it’s important to really spend time analyzing all the details in a chart to TRULY understand the person the chart stems from.
*Note, I left some things out, but if I can add more or make another post later if people request it*

Oiseau
I watched you,
force the wings from your back and the way they unfolded.
It was beautiful.
Every feather black as the night sky, but
stepping back, they were the color of morning,
a new dawn born from the rippling curve of the ocean’s belly.
A flash of iridescent green when the fire of my eyes licked passed my lashes
wanting to consume you. My hands reached out even as you began to hunch your broadening shoulders ready to kick off my body.
 Cages couldn’t keep you.
My love fashioned into metal rails cross stitched over your horizon was only a sickening representation of the chambers in my heart.
That organ that you held so kindly once,
the pianist drumming his fingers into the ivory admiring his work, and brushed against your cheeks for warmth when the cords hummed creating such a frequency of heat.
 I watched you still,
unable to speak over the brush of your new appendages but no word known to man or God could have stopped this transformation
this absence you craved so dearly
So, in my desperation
in the lumbering mutilation of my pride I plucked a feather,
and saw the whites of your eyes flicker to me and my heart sang out only to shatter in my hands.
You were gone then in a moment
no traces of takeoff like a gun shot in the distance a sound with no beginning or end. And I held a piece of you.
It reminds me, you were more than just your phantom trespasses more than a whisper and when I took my final glance I noticed the specks of blood bejeweling the dancing grasses.
I held a feather in my hands but you have my heart the hunter’s arrow in your back

Hope
The days are old now and the years have stopped whispering, we live by the cracks in faded porcelain, the chips in our painted lips; once new born pink, smooth and supple have kissed reality intimately, no longer like a friend. Even still Time eludes us, snickering in the distance, it’s hands broken at the elbows whipping around wildly. A primitive lunatic. We the encased often search for purpose in the world that has shunned our cries and flinched at our touch. We still look for love through our glass eyes, but maybe the scratches, the smears, the eyelids that won’t open all the way anymore have kaleidoscoped our souls. Miniature pieces conveying no real message like distorted static moving in all directions yet meeting nowhere. We were caught in the confusion, our immortal twine thrown to the wheel and instead of being spun within the stars that promised us salvation, our histories weighed our hearts down an anchored damnation or more to a forgotten shipwreck constantly being rediscovered and shunned for our buried value lost in translation. The others have bored out thier faith and have replaced in the gaping margin a self conceived acceptance. A seal on eternity. I still reach out, I wave a partially shattered white hand to those men and women who fear us as thier future without acceptance

I hate those really vivid dreams that you’re still emotionally attached to after you wake up. You’re stuck, feeling for something that technically doesn’t exist.
