All the A’s+ motives+A events

Ok, so the finale left me with a lot of confusion as to who did what when, so I decided to list all the key players we know about and their motives, and I lined those up with what happened when and to which person we can attribute those actions. That way we can maybe figure out the missing pieces, I gotta warn you, it’s really really long, but then again there are six seasons of events and clues to consider, it may actually all tie in together! 

I listed everything (mostly) chronologically, first all the A’s, then the unknown killers. There are some plotholes/unexplained things during the reign of every A, but most of them can be attributed to other A’s or may just be dropped storylines/red herrings. I listed all the plotholes/unexplained events at the end for all the A’s.

Original A = Mona

Timeline - She started as Alison’s A (2x13 The First Secret flashback) and was A until Shana tried to kill her in the Lodge fire, after that we see Uber A adding a Mona doll to the Dollhouse (3x24 A Dangerous Game)

Motive - Years of abuse by Alison DiLaurentis and the Liars never standing up to her

What she wants - Alison gone. Revenge on the Liars for bullying her/not standing up for her to Alison, and later taking away her friend Hanna

Her minions - Wilden (Halloween Train), Garrett (Halloween Train), Toby, Spencer, Melissa (Halloween Train). Most of them were blackmailed, Wilden possibly knew about Uber A, he wasn’t in charge, after Radley someone other than Mona was. It could have been Charlotte or even Mary.

Mona’s A actions  

She was Alison’s A. She sent Ali nasty messages and threatened to kill her.

That Night she hit Bethany with a shovel, thinking it was Alison, Melissa found her and buried her, thinking she was protecting Spencer.

She tricked Alison into leaving Rosewood, getting what she wanted

Secrets. Threatening to reveal secrets about Ezria, Spencer’s kisses, Hanna’s shoplifting and Emily’s kisses with Alison and Maya, Ashley Marin’s arrangement with Wilden. Pretty high school level stuff. 

She hit Hanna with her car because she thought Hanna found out she was A.

She warned Emily about Nate. That phone call, Mona knew he was the stalker that killed Maya, she didn’t want Emily to die so she warned her.

She attempted to frame Paige for killing Maya. The earring, the Halloween episode, all plans to frame Paige, just to stir up trouble? Or was Uber A using Mona to cover up a murder they committed? (unlikely but possible)

She broke Spencer by faking Toby’s death to get her on the A team

***A actions during her time that do not fit Mona/are unexplained***

NAT club. Ian, Jason and Garrett the resident Creepers taped young girls undressing, including the Liars. Jason thought Ian was being paid by someone to film certain girls. Maybe this was Charlotte or Mary? Either of them could have done this to keep tabs on Rosewood residents, the Liars and their families.

Ian’s death. Mona could not have done that alone. He wasn’t dead from the hanging, he was shot in the head, and left with a suicide note made up of A texts that Mona sent, but did Mona actually kill Ian? Or did Charlotte? 

The fire in the DiLaurentis house when Jenna was there and Hanna saved her. Did Charlotte do this? Because Jenna knew about her? Jenna was scared of Charlotte.

Big A = Charlotte

Timeline - (2x25 UnmAsked - Season 6) She took over the game from Mona when she came to Radley, and seeing as she called Wren to mess with his and Melissa’s relationship -or to give him updates/orders on the evil scheme- she was still very much up to her manipulative ways post time jump. 

Motive - Most likely fueled by her birth mother’s story, revenge on the DiLaurentis family, for committing both Mary Drake and Charlotte to Radley. Charlotte had her own strong motivation to get back at the family who committed her for being trans, but her mother’s jealousy of Jessica’s life, the one she never had, must have contributed, if not started this whole mess. When Mona was in Radley, Charlotte gave her a way in and out of Radley and she took over the A game and started messing with the Liars because they didn’t miss Alison enough. 

What she wants - To be with her family, to be free, to play with her dolls, revenge for Alison, to see the Liars hurting, but not to kill them

Her Minions - Sara Harvey, Mona (unknowingly), Wren?

Charlotte’s A actions  

She had Mona and Emily dig up Alison’s body. She needed to know if her sister was alive.

Nearly killed each Liar. She drove a car into Emily’s house, almost froze Sparia, got Emily nearly sawed in half

The lodge setup, Charlotte wanted to lure out Alison and gathering the Liars in the lodge was supposed to accomplish that. And it did, only Shana wanted to get even for Jenna and set the place on fire, so Charlotte fled, after being assured Ali was alive and she didn’t in fact kill her sister. 

Wilden’s death. Cape May. Still some unanswered questions about that. Wilden covered up Marion’s death for Jessica, he may have been covering for Mary all along, he knew about Charlotte hitting Alison, he probably knew too much and that’s why he was killed. Charlotte killed him, but maybe Uber A gave that order? 

She framed Ashley Marin. Charlotte killed Wilden, and she was trying to get away with it, she probably even saw the confrontation between Wilden and Ashley and that’s why she chose her.

Gave Toby info about Marion. Charlotte was there on the roof when Marion got pushed off. She knew about the cover up and so she used it to play with him and set him up by calling the cops on him (just like Cece said she did to Eric Kahn btw, that was a major clue in retrospect), while also giving him some real information. 

She made Ezra look like A. She led Alison and the Liars to his ‘lair’ a.k.a. stalking office to keep she spotlight off of her

She was looking for Ali. She thought she had killed Ali, and when she saw her at the lodge fire she was determined to find her. At some point she did, because Ali said she had been in touch with ‘Cece’ for a while now. So the point of all of this for Charlotte was to get Ali back home.

The mob of A’s in New York. Shana shot Ezra to avenge Jenna, but she went rogue with that, the goal of this was to get Ali home, to Rosewood. Charlotte claimed to have been in touch with Ali the entire time, so the purpose of the Liars finding Ali in New York was to bring her home.  

Jenna’s house explosion. Charlotte blew up Jenna’s house to scare her, Jenna knew about Alison being alive, and maybe about Charlotte somehow, she was scared of her. It was also a perfect big entrance to restart the A game after letting Shana take the fall for being A alone.

***A actions during her time that do not fit Charlotte/are unexplained***

Cape May. We know Charlotte pretended to be Cece to spend time with her real family, but why was Wilden in a picture with Ali and Charlotte? Why was Melissa there? Does this have any significance at all?

The Halloween Train. Did Charlotte order Wilden to kill Garrett? Did she order Wilden and Mona(?) to push Aria off the train? Did Mary? Was Charlotte the female voice we heard? Was she the one blackmailing Melissa into it? Or was that Mary as well?

The Red Coat Hanna saw. Was it Charlotte? Mary? Alison?

Who turned in Cece? If she was in charge she didn’t turn herself in, I doubt Mary would turn in her daughter for playing their vicious little game. Maybe Jessica did it? Did she find out about the game? We know she couldn’t cover for someone anymore, maybe that was Mary, so Mary killed her sister bc she betrayed her yet again? Or so she wouldn’t spill the beans on her and Charlotte’s evil plan? Maybe whoever killed Charlotte was the same person that turned her in?

The bones in Spencer’s dress. Who wanted to make Spencer think she killed Bethany? Was it Charlotte? Or Mary? Or Wren? Why?

Mona’s death/The Dollhouse. Mona wanted to find out who Uber A was and then got taken by Uber A. Was Charlotte really in charge? Would she dress up as a man when she was finally who she always wanted to be? This still doesn’t fit at all. Someone else built that Dollhouse, funded it, possibly Mary or Wren. The Charles clues fit more with a mother showing her victims what she had gone through, the twin pictures, the videos of her little boy she gave birth to. It fits more with a nostalgic mother showing her pain, than a transitioned woman reclaiming her past. 

Uber A = Mary Drake? Elliot Rollins? (Wren Kingston?)

Timeline - (Since before season 1? - endgame)

Motive - Mary was jealous of her sister’s life, she had to give her her child and they committed her to Radley for being trans. Plenty of motive to set up this deadly game. She most likely engineered this whole A game, instructed Charlotte and got Rollins to help as well, after he had fallen in love with Charlotte. Motive for Wren would depend on his involvement. He could be related to Bethany Young and wants to avenge her death. He could be related/friends with Rollins or maybe he is yet another child of the Drake/DiLaurentis family. He basically drew the Drake family with Mary in a Red Coat. Maybe he also grew up in Radley, maybe he met the Drakes when he was visiting his mentally ill dad and bonded with them and wanted to help in their twisted plan. Maybe he’s Beach Hottie who gave Ali that pregnancy scare? Many ways to implicate him. His medical background works with a lot of stuff A has pulled off. (all of these work for Rollins too - except for Wren’s established shady behavior obviously)

What they want - To destroy the DiLaurentis family, and apparently the Liars too, and they are willing to murder people to further their cause

Minions - Rollins, Charlotte, Wren, basically any A team member, they all seem to answer to Uber A. It seems like Mary’s story started this all, it’s her journey of revenge.

Whether it’s actually Mary, Rollins and Wren or not, these things can all be attributed to Uber A:

Uber A’s A actions

Kidnapping/recruiting Sara Harvey. Sara Harvey was either held captive to be a minion for Uber A, or she helped willingly, either way, she went missing the same day Ali did. And Uber A orchestrated it somehow. This story must have more to it. 

Ian’s death. Ian’s body was pulled out of the ropes and carried to a car and then to a shed and shot in the head with a suicide note compelled from Mona’s A texts. Mona said she didn’t do it. Charlotte never mentioned it. It had to have been Uber A. Ian knew something Alison didn’t, he said something about everything coming apart (very similar to what Melissa said) and something about Ali’s family. Maybe he knew about Mary or Charlotte? Maybe he knew Rollins. Or Wren. 

Garrett’s death. We were told Wilden killed him, they may both have been minions, and they may have both been aware of Mary. Wilden because of his Radley connection to Jessica, maybe Mary even killed Marion and he covered for her, not Bethany. Maybe Bethany only witnessed it and that’s why Jessica was bribing her.

(I covered Wilden’s death in the Charlotte section, because we know she pulled the trigger, but maybe she was ordered to do so by Mary, so I still wanted to mention it here.)

Jessica DiLaurentis’ death. Mary (or her minion Rollins or even Wren) killed Jessica, it was probably somewhat of a goal of hers all along. She felt like Jessica had the life she never had and didn’t care for her child, but locked her up in the same place she was rotting away. 

The Dollhouse. If Mary was behind this, or maybe Mary and Wren, or whoever it ends up being. They were also responsible for Sara Harvey’s involvement. They kidnapped/recruited Sara Harvey the night of Alison’s disappearance, something is still missing from this story. They built this Dollhouse that is somehow connected to Radley. There were lots of experiments that were similar to those in mental institutions during the time that Mary would have been locked up there. The dollhouse was filled with vintage stuff. This entire story started when the Liars were barely sixteen. I think a parent being Uber A was always something that was going to happen. All the vintage clues seem to lead there. No kid the Liar’s age would have the funding, time, experience and ability to pull that off. An adult has to have been involved since the beginning. 

The torture in the Dollhouse, bitch chipped us, all quite drastic A tactics.

Blackmailing Melissa. Uber A threatened to release that confession video of Melissa’s to find out who killed Charlotte.

Threatening/hurting the Liars. Aria was burned, Alison ‘fell’, Hanna’s finance was threatened, Veronica’s campaign was sabotaged, Emily’s eggs were stolen. All of this to find out who killed Charlotte.

Playing the long con and marrying Alison. I mean, that’s beyond cruel and lacking in emotions. As if this girl hasn’t been through enough.

Messing with Alison’s sanity. Pretending to be someone’s dead mother and dead cop/acquaintance to make them check themselves into a mental institution to get their power of attorney/money is beyond psychopathic and cruel.

Kidnapping Hanna. Hanna was taken because she confessed to killing Charlotte. We saw Mary on the footage from the Lost Woods Resort. The timeline may have been funky like with the New York episode, maybe there was lots of time between those two scenes. She could have easily taken Hanna, returned to the house and taken Hanna to the church, we don’t know how much time passed.

Ok, so we’re down to uncovering the final few unknown mystery persons involved in this game, the killers:

Jessica DiLaurentis’ killer = Uber A?

Motive - Jessica emailed someone ‘I can’t protect you anymore’ if this message was sent to Charlotte and Uber A saw it, or she showed them, they could have killed her not to be revealed as Uber A.

What they want - To keep Jessica quiet, possibly revenge added to that 

Possible suspects:

Mary Drake feels like she was robbed of the life Jessica had. She gave away her child to Jessica and Jessica let Charles be committed for being trans. She hated her. This is motive enough to kill the sister that had she life she never had, while she (and her child that she gave up to have a better life) rotted away in Radley. (Also this is almost literally the storyline from the books only applied to Ali’s mom in stead of Ali, and Marlene loves her parallels). 

Wren. If he is Uber A, he could have wanted Jessica dead to mess with Alison, maybe they have their own history. However I strongly feel like it was Mary who killed Jessica

Charlotte’s killer = ???

Motive - Possibly a victim of Charlotte seeking revenge for one or more of her many crimes. Possibly accidental/not planned a heat of the moment type situation (highly unlikely though because of the careful clean up (her fingernails were wiped clean) and because charlotte’s favorite flowers were there)

What they want - To get away with murder by framing the Liars. Taking and killing Hanna (who confessed to Charlotte’s murder) does not fit their agenda, they want someone to take the blame, killing Hanna would not do that.

Possible suspects:

Melissa is the suspect they are pushing on us, it was her luggage handle that killed Charlotte, she hated her because Charlotte ruined her relationship with Wren, she kept calling nervously about the election, and we found out a few episodes ago that Uber A (Mary and Rollins) was blackmailing her for the identity of Charlotte’s killer. Now maybe she was just nervous about Uber A keeping their promise of exposing her involvement in Bethany Young’s death, but maybe she actually did it.

Lucas was way too eager to be Hanna’s fake alibi, he could get in a lot of trouble, it seems like something someone wouldn’t do just randomly. But if Lucas was somehow involved, it gives him an alibi too.

Mona. She’s always suspicious let’s be honest. She didn’t want Charlotte to get released, but then she changed her mind and helped her get out. Only to be murdered the following night. Maybe it was Mona’s plan all along, maybe it was an accident, maybe she was there and saw what happened, either way, as usually Mona knows more than she’s letting on.

Rollins. He may have a completely separate agenda, we know nothing about him. Or it could have been an accident which he covered up neatly and now he is pretending to look for her killer to take the blame off of himself.

Wren. He could have his motives that have yet to be explained, but I see him more involved in being Uber A, who is looking for Charlotte’s killer so highly unlikely. 

The Liars . We can’t rule them out either, they all had motive enough to kill Charlotte, Hanna could have actually done it. It would actually be refreshing if the Liars were involved in this entire storyline in stead of mostly just being caught in the crosshairs of the DiLaurentis secret children drama.

Some conclusions to draw from all of this:

Uber A has murdered (or ordered to murder) five people. We haven’t had any closure or final answers on any of these murders, in my opinion it’s because one person is responsible and that person is an endgame baddie, so if they revealed it years ago it would have ruined the end reveal. Maybe all those dropped storylines and characters will have a resolution.

This all started with the Drake/DiLaurentis children and That Night

Even before That Night. That has to mean Uber A is an adult, a teenager couldn’t pull this off, so it has to be someone older in charge. All the vintage clues lead back to this as well

Uber A is not Charlotte’s killer, they want to find Charlotte’s killer (we knew that)

Mary Drake and Elliot Rollins want to find Charlotte’s killer and take ‘what was supposed to be theirs’

Uber A is A.D. (as per the finale and Marlene King quotes)

A.D. has Hanna

Soooo this turned out to be super long, with every point I wanted to address all of a sudden things from seasons 1-6 started to tie in for me. 

I have to say I like this twin twist, I do think Mary is Uber A, but there may be another person involved or in charge, and I’m seriously hoping it’s Wren or at least someone relevant.

Pretty Little Liars S01E11 “Moments Later” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 8.2/10 - Secrets, lies and new creepiness

Ten Thoughts from the episode:

Ali has pretty much confirmed ‘A’ is a girl with that visit to Hanna. ‘That bitch’ 

Noel was actually really sweet to Aria. I feel bad for him, he was hurt when Aria said that Ezra wasn’t forcing her into anything.

I am so happy that all the liars know about Ezria

Vandermarin is amazing. Their hospital schene was brilliant. I loved the story about how Mona decided she wanted to be friends with Hanna.

Lucas sneaking into see Hanna, and that kiss! He’s like a puppy in love. I loved that he was completely straight with Hanna about how he felt. And that orchid! Ohhhh. 

I would actually love Hanna and Lucas to get together. He’s so on point with her.

Sparia gossiping about Ezria is one of my favourite things.

Emily with her Dad. Heartbreaking. Pam has completely the wrong attitude, someone made her do this? Really?!

At least Wayne is happy to accept, even if he doesn’t like him. And quite rightly as he says ‘there are far worse things’

Shotgun wedding. Definitely makes Ian seem like he has something to hide, especially with that disappearing tree.

Quote of the Episode: Spencer: Since Labour Day?! 

Favourite Character

Lucas. I loved Lucas in this episode. I loved how he went to see Hanna. I loved that he looked after her and I loved that he didn’t lie to her. ‘If I stay, then you’ll think I’m okay with this when I’m not.’ 

Least Favourite Character

Pam. That ignorance and bigoted attitude she had. You have opinions and morals, yes. But you have a daughter too. One with her own opinions and her own morals, that doesn’t make her worse than you. You broke Emily’s heart. 

Friendship / Relationship?

Vandermarin. The story Mona tells Hanna about the trampoline and her throwing up was brilliant. They had a great moment in the hospital and it just shows that Mona does love Hanna. 

Ezria. There wasn’t much going on with other couples in this episode, so it goes to them. I still love them as a couple. As Spencer puts it, ‘mostly, I just think it’s really hot’

Who’s A?

Mona. Still. She was the only other person we saw in that hospital room that is 1. female and 2. not a liar or her mother. I’m certain she wrote that ‘A’ message, especially as she came to see Hanna to apologise in the first place. 

Overall:

This was a great episode, concluded the accident nicely and gave some great moments between the characters. I want to see more of the girls friendship though, at the moment, they just seem too involved in their own lives and these happen to be people they’re friends with whom also get these mysterious messages. I want Liars scenes. I want their friendship.

If I met someone with my Mother’s maiden name I wouldn’t automatically think my Aunts or Uncles were connected to this person. Drake isn’t exactly an unusual name and whilst there are no coincidences in Rosewood, it isn’t farfetched for no one to connect CeCe to Jessica. Once CeCe revealed she was Charlotte and CeCe was a false name I imagine Ali would have clocked why she chose Drake as a surname. 

So was Jessica’s maiden name this entire time Drake and no one on the show ever connected it to Cece?

Generally when you have a controlling interest in a Company you need to be of a sound mind. As Alison admitted herself into a Mental Institution the papers she signed to be admitted would have also meant that her shares would automatically revert to her Next of Kin (in this case, her husband, Elliot). As Elliot is considered to be of a sound mind, he would be able to have a controlling stake as well as deciding control over the company. 

The rest of the theory seems solid, but she wouldn’t have signed over her shares necessarily. I imagine next season would have Rollins trying to convince Ali to sign over her shares properly, so she ‘doesn’t have to worry about the company anymore’. Hopefully Ali is sensible enough to keep the shares in her name until she believes she is of a sound mind or signing them over to Jason instead.

I don’t know if anyone has already said this or not but here goes:

Mary Drake: She signed the papers?

Rollins: Yes, Mary. I control 51% of Carissimi now.

I think the papers Ali signed at the hospital was not for her to receive treatment there but that she signed over her share of the Carissimi company to Elliot. 

I think Mary Drake and Rollins will make Ali look like Uber A since they signed the last text “A.D”. They will make it seem that Ali always hated the liars and seeing hallucinations was just part of her act. In Spencer’s words, “Drugging yourself is the best alibi ever”. I think the early part of S7 will spend some time around the possibility that maybe Ali duped them and blame her for Hanna’s kidnapping since this show loves red herrings.

Mary and Rollins will drop clues specifically pointing to Ali and Ali will start believing it since she “doesn’t know what’s real anymore”. The liars will think that Mary is actually Jessica and Ali and Jessica planned the whole thing to avenge Charlotte. Since Elliot now owns Carissimi group, the bank transactions that he will make for his nefarious reasons will actually make it look like Ali planned those! Ali might not know about Rollins 51% shares until much later and when she does, she will know about Elliot.

What if the twin isn’t a secret at all?

Part of me thinks that Jessica DiLaurentis will have the twin, it will be Ali’s Aunt Carol. It was never a secret, Ali always knew they were twins.

Hanna/Haleb Rant

Am I the only one who is seriously bothered by people justifying Hanna grabbing Caleb’s hand (especially in front of Spencer!) by saying that “Hanna had him first”? Like Spencer said they are not on the playground anymore! Caleb is not a toy. She can’t just pick and choose when she wants to be with him. She either wants to be with him or she doesn’t and if she does she shouldn’t have told Spencer to go for it. Hanna also does not own Caleb. Just because they dated 5 YEARS AGO that doesn’t mean that she is the only girl Caleb is allowed to be with. If you and your ex break up you normally have no say in what they do from that point on. They wanna date someone else 5 years later then that sucks for you but guess what there’s nothing you can do about it. That person has every right to live their life and if you try to ruin their happiness just because you want them back then most likely you aren’t in love. If you did love them then you’d see how happy they are and leave them be. If it’s meant to be it will be. Atleast Spencer asked permission. She checked with her friend first because she didn’t want to ruin their friendship over a guy. Whether Haleb gets back together or not Hanna is now the one ruining their friendship. Which is exactly what I’ve been dreading because let’s be real who didn’t see that coming? How else could Haleb get back together so quick? Obviously something had to get between Spaleb and it was obvious that it’d be Hanna. I just (naively) hoped that Caleb would realize his feelings, break the news to Spencer gently, get told by Spencer to go to Hanna, and everyone stays friends. I’m sure the show will somehow make it seem okay that Hanna grabbed Caleb’s hand and Spanna will work things out and Haleb will reunite but it shouldn’t be like that. Hanna having Caleb first means nothing. Spencer having him NOW is what matters. This isn’t some random girl that Caleb’s seeing. (Id still be pissed if it were Toby and Yvonne and Spencer did it) this is one of her BEST FRIENDS! If one of my best friends did that, knowing they had history like Haleb, Id be furious. There’d be no way I’d just sit back and watch. I’m tired of seeing “Spencer is just jealous” or “Hanna had him first” because SPENCER IS CALEBS GIRLFRIEND. Like it or not Spaleb is a thing right now and if Haleb reunites while Spaleb is still happening and you still support it then you’ll be supporting cheating. Hand holding may not be cheating but given what we know about the finale and the rumors on Haleb being endgame (which is what Marlene seems to be pushing on Twitter) do you really think it won’t go down that path? Hanna was always my favorite liar (tied for first with Spencer tbh) because she was always the most loyal to the other liars. She always seemed to care more than the rest about her friends. When Sullivan split them up Hanna took it the hardest. When she was in jail she worried about her friends and Caleb more than about herself. She has always been the liar who would give her life to save one of them and now she’s turned into this!? She is now the girl who who would lovingly grab the hand of her best friends boyfriend right in front of her best friend. She’s the girl who is so jealous of Spaleb that she’s sabotaging her engagement just to get Caleb back after telling EVERYONE she was over him and wanted to marry Jordan. She doesn’t even consider how her feelings affect the guy who everyone claims is her soulmate or her supposed best friend. Spencer on the other hand asks Hanna’s permission before telling Caleb her feelings, supports Haleb’s friendship (not going up with him to Hanna’s hotel room and supporting it when they went to lunch), and doesn’t say a word when Hanna runs to Caleb for help and then holds his hand in front of her. Yet Spencer is the jealous one? I honestly don’t know anyone could actually see it like that.

Pretty Little Liars S01E10 “Keep Your Friends Close” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 9/10 - I’ve never wanted to go to a birthday party more in my life. Can there be a spinoff series that is just Mona’s life? 

Ten Thoughts from the episode:

Camp Mona. Glamping. M for massages. I love Mona so much. I love that she invited everyone and not just Hanna. One for my besties other friends. 

I feel so bad for Ashley, she is so insistent that Hanna appears well off to her friends. Her awkward moment with Byron because she stole money. Oh goodness.

Ezra wrote Aria a poem! So glad Noel didn’t pick up on any of that. Awkward moment in the classroom though. As per last episode, I like Noel and Aria. But I LOVE Ezria. He wanted to resign for her. It’s about time he was bloody honest with her. 

Why do they make all the honest people creepy? Creepy Toby is back, but he’s definitely telling the truth.

I want to go to Camp Mona so badly. 

Spencer is like a robot. ‘You’re a freak and I love you’ is definitely the most apt way to describe Spencer. 

Toby looked so helpless when the police caught up to him. I really hope it wasn’t Emily or the girls that said where he was. Those big puppy eyes. He’s innocent though. 

I love detective Hanna. and detective Spencer. Detectives Spanna at your service. 

At least it’s clear why Ali hated Spencer and Ian together. He was the older boy with the girlfriend. And he’s possibly a murderer?

That was ‘A’ wonderfully dramatic way to deal with the ‘A’ news. ‘She knew too much’ Ohh. Best ‘A’ text yet I think. 

Quote of the Episode: Hanna: Is this side of my face fatter than this side?  

Favourite Character

Mona. I bloody love her. This episode had her shining. The ‘A’ text she received, kicking Hanna out of Camp Mona. The whole Glamping thing and Swag Bags. Absolutely loved her in this episode. 

Least Favourite Character

Ashley. I actually love Ashley as a character, but she was least favourite in this episode. She stole, she hid things from people because she was worried they would judge Hanna or her for not having much money at the moment. 

Friendship / Relationship?

There were some great moments with the girls again in this episode. Sparia had my favourite moment, so I’m going to give it to them. But special mention to Detectives Spanna for their separate sleuthing during Camp Mona. 

Ezria. I can’t help it. It was a great episode for them. I hate that Aria has now kind of cheated on Noel, but I loved the pair of them in this episode. Though, Ezria is now, not-so-secret. Hanna and mystery hoodie know (’A’ knows too). The message on the car was not an ‘A’ message. It would have been signed otherwise.

Who’s A?

Camp Mona is a scavenger hunt and I’m the prize. IT IS MONA. DEFINITELY MONA. She knew the other girls wouldn’t go unless they received a notorious ‘A’ text. Then she sent an ‘A’ text to herself. She was a geek a couple of years ago, super-smart. We know that already. She was bullied by Ali and by extension the other girls. Of course Mona is the prize at her own party. I love that she’s leaving the girls clues as to what happened to Ali on ‘that night’

Overall:

I loved this episode. On par with There’s No Place Like Homecoming. Completely loved it. Again, plenty of funny moments and enough story to keep this mystery interesting. Gradually introducing people into the mystery, like Ian, is working really well.

Pretty Little Liars S01E09 “The Perfect Storm” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 7/10 - Did Noel ever get his Crazy Bread?

Ten Thoughts from the episode:

I get Wilden is doing his job, but does he really have to be so creepy.

Noel is super sweet. He is wrong about no girl liking hockey though, I love hockey. Don’t love the Pens though. The music moment with him and Aria was beautiful. 

Emily is not over Alison is she? She was so hurt in that letter, Ali was not into that kiss though. That scene in the locker room with the two of them was heartbreaking for Emily. 

I love all the awkward parent moments in this episode. Ella / Ezra, Byron / Ashley, Veronica / Alex / Spencer. 

Veronica is Mother of the Century. She is brilliant. 

I like Noel and Aria as a couple. But I love Aria and Ezra. 

Hanna defending everyone in need this episode.

I still love Mona, can’t help it. 

Lucas is so helplessly in love with Hanna and Lucas is also a vandal. Learn to clean your shoes boy. 

‘A’ sending anonymous tips. ‘A’ texting. ‘A’ knowing all, still. 

Quote of the Episode: Hanna: Because then I’d have to stand over the garbage and eat it.

Favourite Character

Veronica is the most wonderful person in this episode. She was strong and defensive for the Liars and then compassionate and vulnerable about what had happened with Alex. Wonderful. Loved her. 

Least Favourite Character

Wilden. Wilden. Oh, and Wilden. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to punch someone more in my life.

Friendship / Relationship?

Oh, gosh. Hanna & Lucas. Hanna & Mona. Hanna and everyone... I’m going to give it to all of the Liars. Their relationship fit really well this episode and everyone coming to Emily’s defense without questioning her was beautiful. 

I know I’m an Ezria fan, but Aria and Noel were perfect this episode. The awkward ‘not-a-date’ date invite and the musical moment they had. I wish Ezra didn’t interrupt that moment. 

Who’s A?

Mona. Hands down. The texts about Ali and Emily kissing at the start of the season, library and girls locker room. No reason that Mona wasn’t lurking in the shadows. The text Emily received in the library she received as Mona was texting. The only other person I saw texting was Lucas, but I just don’t see him sending anything vindictive over text. Vandalising a memorial, yes. But the texts? Not Lucas.

Overall:

Much better than episode 8. I enjoyed that all of the girls were trapped in the same place. Getting to know Veronica as well as seeing the real bond the girls have was great. I know it wasn’t the way Emily wanted to come out to her friends and I was so happy that all of the girls just brushed off what she said like it wasn’t a big deal (which it should never be). I loved the scene where everyone is telling off Wilden for being a douche. Now, don’t let Wilden come back... At all.

Pretty Little Liars S01E08 “Please, Do Talk About Me When I’m Gone” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 7/10 - Did Noel ever get his Crazy Bread? 

Ten Thoughts from the episode:

A crash and no body? I’m sure he’s fine Emily. He just doesn’t want to be found. 

Hanna has a single-parent lifestyle now. 

Ali’s brother Jason is such a stiff. He’s determined to get answers though. But, seriously, Jenna as a speaker? 

It’s cute that Hanna and Sean are back to that good place and Hanna trying to set Aria up (even if it’s for her own benefit) is sweet.

Hanna and Lucas friendship is brilliant.

Emily asking Maya out and her Dad coming home. Aww

Ali is such a jerk. Why were they friends with her? 

Why hasn’t Wilden fallen down a hole yet? 

So Jenna thinks that one of the girls killed Ali...

Ohhhh. So, another one of Melissa’s boyfriends that Spencer kissed is back. Question is, he after Spencer, or something else? 

Quote of the Episode: Noel:  Remind me, did I run over your dog or something? I don't remember doing anything to get you this mad at me.

Favourite Character

I really liked the introduction of Noel, felt he was suitably funny as well as easy on the eyes. There wasn’t really anyone else that stood out to me in this episode, I felt that Spencer had some great moments. But, my two favourite quotes from this episode were Noel quotes. So, today, it’s his turn. 

Least Favourite Character

Jason - There’s something about him that I just don’t like. I don’t like Alison either, especially how she was in the flashbacks of this episode, but Jason, was just a jerk. 

Friendship / Relationship?

Again, Hanna and Lucas hold the friendship crown for me. I appreciate that Sean is trying to be less jealous and is instead teasing Hanna about it, 

Emily and Maya, first date. Emily asking her out. It was all wonderful. I’m not Maya’s biggest fan, but I love seeing Emily happy about that and finally coming to terms with her personal preferences. 

Who’s A?

It’s another Jenna accusation from me. I’m still not convinced it’s her, if it is her, I’m definitely thinking that Mona or someone else is helping her. Mona is still my number one, but I can’t really accuse her in the episodes she’s not in. 

Overall:

Good episode. Not the best, not the worst. I felt that 6 and 7 were incredible and this has slowed things right down. Enjoying the flashbacks from this episode, even if the main thing they did was highlight what a jerk Ali was.

I would only want it to be one of the girls if it turns out that the girl in question knew about their twin and has been helping them hide their existence the whole time. Unlike Alison, Jason and Charlotte where they only remembered her as an imaginary friend or cousin they possibly had. 

I’d want it to be Aria or Spencer or Hanna whom have all along had this sister that they’ve been helping and protecting. It would have to be so big that it would change how you looked at that character before the reveal. Something to make the girls question how they never knew. 

I’d want us to know first of all (like with the Toby and Spencer on the ‘A’ Team reveals) and I’d want someone to figure it out (like Spencer and Hanna did) first. My preference would be Emily a huge secret to test her loyalty. 

I don’t think it will be one of them though, which is a good thing as the reveal and explanation will probably happen in one episode. 

Who I want to have a twin: Jenna, Toby or Mrs. DiLaurentis

Who I don’t want to have a twin: Someone who we have a pretty complete backstory for (like Spencer) because I don’t want it to be so unbelievable. We already had secret sibling Charlotte which had multiple plot holes revolving around how no one knew.

Exception to this: Hanna because I love those theories and those twin girls and ghost girl are all tied to her.

Yes! Another hockey fan. <3 Though, I’m a Bruins girl myself. I travelled to Boston from the UK over New Years to watch the Winter Classic, then travelled to New York to watch a couple of Rangers and Islanders games! 

I wish hockey was more popular in the UK than it is. In 9 days in the USA I saw 5 games and 6 different NHL teams play

Pretty Little Liars S01E07 “The Homecoming Hangover” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 8.5/10 - So, ‘A’ is not a Toby fan either. 

Ten Thoughts from the episode:

Creepy Toby at least took Emily to the hospital. Caring for her right there. Sorry, Toby just doesn’t seem like a character that would attempt to kill someone just because of that, if he wanted all of them dead he wouldn’t have saved Emily. Even though he has run away.

Hanna, Emily’s number one supporter. Emily is no longer sexually confused, but she is scared. So, Maya’s the new beau? 

Flowers from Hanna’s beau is it? I’m so happy Aria had a go at Sean about that and he went to apologise to Hanna for his behaviour

Jenna is uncomfortably nice to people. She really doesn’t want people to know about the relationship. Who’s the victim though? Jenna doesn’t strike me as one. 

Sean is piiiiiissed at Hanna. I still am all over the Lucas / Hanna friendship though. Lucas has such a crush on Hanna, I really hope that Hanna has a genuine friendship feeling for him. 

Pam Fields is my least favourite mother... What will the neighbours think? Oh, shush. 

Hanna is done. She is so done with all the Toby shit.

Poor Spencer. I believe Alex when he said it’s not his fault, but that hurt. It was definitely that Stephanie bitch.

Favourite Character:

Lucas. I am loving his character and I really enjoyed seeing him in this episode. He’s funny and sarcastic and his face when he’s with Hanna is almost like he can’t believe someone like her would want to be his friend. 

Least Favourite Character:

Pam Fields. She has the least tact out of the mothers and she is very judgemental. She won’t be happy when she finds out her daughter is a lesbian. 

Friendship / Relationship?

Lucas and Hanna. Great chemistry, both hilarious and both bonded over the fact the Ali used to pick on them. Hanna has an inner nerd that Lucas can bring out with an introduction to funny videos on YouTube. 

I’m kind of torn. I’m going to go for Spencer and Alex though, even though she was upset at the picture, I don’t feel I can give it to another couple this episode. Sean redeemed himself at the end, but there was too much jealousy thrown and Lucas to enjoy their relationship.

Who’s A?

I’m giving Jenna the vote on this one. She was desperate for that file back, maybe for the exact reasons that the girls thought Toby killed Ali. If it’s her, she has a helper though, she is definitely not doing this alone. 

Overall:

Definitely a hangover for the girls, Aria’s desperation to reach Ezra and keep her family together had me hooked. Spencer trying to enjoy something separate to her usual life was great and Emily, with the help of Hanna, accepting that she is exactly the same person regardless of whom she chooses to kiss. Hanna was great this episode, she was a little firecracker that was a bit rash (with attempting to destroy the file) as well as being funny, adorable and the best friend. Toby is 100% off of the suspect list (not that he was on mine anyway), still, 7 episodes in and I’m not expecting the reveal for a while.

Pretty Little Liars S01E06 “There’s No Place Like Homecoming” - Thoughts from the TV

Overall Rating: 9.5/10 - Click your Heels together three times and wish there’s no ‘A’

Ten Thoughts from the Episode:

I love this friendship, the girls are completely there for eachother, even if they assume Aria’s upset about the wrong thing. 

Hanna jumping in assuming Emily is more into girls than guys is sweet, who cares? It’s just a dance. 

I love a creepy ‘A’ message, fortune cookie messages are perfect. 

The abstinence club is my favourite thing and Lucas is hilarious, even if Sean is a little jealous of him, I hope he’s in PLL more, the way he was there for Hanna at the dance was great.

I actually like Hanna, even through the superficial stuff, she seems to have blossomed so much without Ali there. 

Toby started this episode as really sweet, then it just got creepy. Thought that was partially Em’s fault for suddenly deciding he was ‘A’ and trying to run from him.  Top points to Toby for acknowledging that Em should have gone with Maya. Points to Emily for initially sticking up for Toby. 

Alex is adorable, he definitely doesn’t appreciate Spencer trying to treat him and he definitely doesn’t appreciate Spencer disappearing constantly. 

Mona is mean, but not in a way that makes me hate her. 

Melissa is such a hateful character, I think I like her less than Ali from this episode. 

Ezra was an absolute doll. He is so into Aria it is ridiculous. The new haircut, going to homecoming because he was hoping to see her. 

Quote of the Episode: Hanna: Emily, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a fricking duck. 

Favourite Character:

Hanna was an absolute star this episode, being sensitive to Emily’s hidden sexuality (even if it wasn’t a good idea to invite Maya). Being blunt and honest with Aria regarding her liking someone unavailable to her. Lucas scenes and Mona scenes were gold. Plus, her quote of the episode regarding Toby was a real laugh out loud moment. 

Least Favourite Character:

Melissa. Hands down. I don’t even need to think about anyone else. She’s just hateful. I know Spencer has done wrong, but she decides that Spencer has a huge agenda against her without talking to her first. No, that’s not okay. 

Friendship / Relationship?

Friendship? Hanna and everyone in this episode. I’m actually going to go for the friendship between the girls though. This is the first episode that I’ve felt a huge bond between them all and whilst Hanna was the stand-out friend. They all deserve a mention. 

Relationship? That’s a tough one, there wasn’t much really with relationships this episode.  But, I’m giving the crown to Alex and Spencer this week, finding out what she was wearing to make sure they matched was great. I know it didn’t go well at the dance, but I’m rooting for them. 

Who’s A?

I don’t know. I don’t thnk it’s Toby... At all. So, I’m going to go for Mona again. This is literally because, I have no new suspects, she was in this episode and it was casually mentioned about how geeky she used to be and she doesn’t want anyone remembering that. It might not be a secret, but she’s definitely hiding something

Overall:

Brilliant episode. My favourite so far. I absolutely loved this episode, Hanna was the stand-out character by far, she absolutely shone. I want every episode to be like this one. The only critique I have is regarding Emily, she’s just not believable, her character in this episode and in previous episodes changed completely the second she saw Maya and the second she thought Toby was ‘A’, I didn’t like it, I thought her character, in particular, would be very different and a lot smarter in dealing with that situation. Otherwise, the episode was utter perfection.

Change of Form

I’m going to update my posts, to make them a little more user friendly. By user friendly, I mean shorter. 60+ thoughts per episode is a heck of a lot, even if I had them all. 

What I will be doing now is my out of 10 rating. 10 thoughts from the episode. Favourite and Least Favourite Character. Best Friendship and Relationship. Whodunnit (for the mysteries) or What do I think will happen next (for the rest) and my overall review. 

Hopefully this will make the posts a lot shorter, a lot easier to read and a lot quicker to type up and edit. :D
