Post op week 4:
Finally in my own bed. Still some swelling and hard spots near my arm pits 😩 it feels like my drain holes have scar tissue build up when I stretch and I can feel it with my fingers. One nipple is starting to pop up, the other is still concave. The skin is still numb but I can feel pressure of touch. Personally I think I’ll need a revision on the liposuction under my arms as one side viability has more tissue and I can feel it is not swelling. Other than that I’m happy with my results and it’s looking better every day. I sleep slightly on my sides now, it doesn’t hurt just uncomfortable if I’m fully on my side.

2 weeks post op:
Got my last drain out 🙏🙌🏻 still some swelling near the outside of my chest I need to keep an eye on, thats my only discomfort currently besides accidentally stretching too far. Nipples are scabbing and crusting off (like they’re supposed to) Walked the beach again and had an easier time with stairs. I wore a plain tshirt by itself for the first time in forever even though I still have to wear my compression vest it felt great but it did make me more conscious of the belly fat I need to lose to feel healthier.

Post op day 11:
Another appointment, I got 2 more drains out, leaving 1 in, the right side sucked a bit because it was up so high in my chest. I thought all of them were coming out so that kind of sucks. Apparently they dont take out both on one side at a time. Nipple stitches were removed, didn’t feel anything. I have a small hematoma in my right side almost under my armpit, nurse recommended arnica which I had heard of but never tried before, as well as consistently taking ibuprofen. We’ll see if it helps? Go to walk around near the beach and have lunch there. My cardio definitely sucks right now, the stairs were so tiring.

1 week post op:
Appetite is completely normal, I’m just personally avoiding super fatty foods and sugary soda. Still relatively sore and have lots of visible bruising mostly where my arms meet my chest. Still alittle bit of fluid coming out my drains and the hole and scabs are slightly itchy. More sensation is coming back in my chest but not much, I can feel pressure but not touch if that makes sense? Definitely antsy to get out of the house soon.

Day 5 after surgery:
Went to my post op appointment to get the stuffing taken out of my compression vest. I got 1 of the 4 drains taken out as well. My chest was numb to the touch but I could feel pressure when touched. The nurse took the bolsters off my nipples so I need to keep xeroform on them now. Apparently the drain hole on my left is a bit leaky and the nurse said it could be the stitch pulling or a clot but to keep it extra covered. My incision line looked wrinkled like it was in the water too long and my nipples were flat and crusty. I did notice puckering under my armpits and I hope that goes away as the swelling goes down. I should be back in leas than a week to get the rest of my drains out.

Day 2 after surgery:
Lots of getting checked on my nurses, eating and drinking water. I wasn’t able to sleep much, not because of pain but more of not being super comfortable in the hospital bed and being woken up consistently for vitals and meds. I walked around a bit after getting my catheter out in the morning. It was a pain trying to wheel my iv bag and pain blockers with me everytime I had to pee. My nurse had me empty my drains by myself and record the amount of fluids. Nothing else very eventful this day just happy to finally eat without being nauseous.

Day 1 after surgery, I survived the anxiety!
Here’s day 1 summary:
I had 2 nerve blocks put in my back, those weren’t fun but not horrible. Surgery was a bit later than scheduled but once the OR was open they ran me in. I started getting the “good stuff” and they marked me up for where to cut. I laid down and thats the last thing I remember. I woke up back in the room I was waiting in. I had no pain and then was wheeled to my room for my stay. They had me get up and get on the new bed and positioning myself was kinda sore but not painful. I got water but noticed my throat was very sore, it still is today too. They but massaging things on my legs to prevent blood clots. Then I noticed i had a catheter 🫠 My friend was allowed back in to the room. I got some tomato soup which was great for my throat. They emptied my drains after my friend left. I tried some mashed potatoes but got nauseous ☹️ It was hard for me to get deep breaths so I had oxygen all night which was great because I usually can’t breathe in my nose well and this allowed me to. My tailbone was hurting more than anything because of how I was positioned so when the nurses came in to make me roll they put a pillow under me 🙏 my nurse periodically came in and checked my vitals, I couldn’t really sleep because that’s just me. Mostly just felt sore up by my arm pits like I did too many push ups.

4 days out, anxiety is on and off. Definitely overpacking but I will be away from home for several weeks, that seems to been the biggest part of my anxiety currently.
