Also, I did post abt the soundtrack from my first listen (+ a few other things) from before I had watched it! However after watching it I do think a few of my opinions have changed! It definitely could have been wayyy better, I’m not necessarily saying it was terrible but I think watching it once was enough for me 😭 The casting was pretty good!! I was definitely skeptical at first but they weren’t bad! (Personally I also believe that I was absolutely right in my opinion that Damian would be our only saving grace) They absolutely butchered like,,all of the songs tho 💀 Like usually I prefer World Burn over Someone Gets Hurt but for the movie that was reversed lmao (and some of the lyric changes were ass *cough* revenge party *cough*)

Also I don’t intend to offend anyone with this, cuz I love Renee, but she definitely did not do Taylor (nor herself tbh) justice with the songs like,,at all 😭 Although she did succeed in making me wanna fight Regina until after she got hit by a bus 🥰 (This is not a bad thing btw lmao)

Sorry for such a long reply 😅 I definitely plan on doing a post about it at some point (based on what I remember) but Icl it may just seem like I’m just slagging it off the whole time so I might have to rewatch parts of it so I don’t sound horrible 😭

ahh no worries! I absolutely agree with everything u said! The costumes are absolute perfection, and the dresses in America are beautiful! Yes omg Ansels acting was incredible, that entire scene and everything that follows has absolutely made me cry before

and u are so real for that 😭 the jets are horrible people but their actors r all very attractive so it’s a struggle to call them hot without looking like an asshole 😔 (also fr it’s mike faist like cmon look at him ofc he’s hot 😕)

YES THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!! The look of realisation of how fucked up what they had just done was (which is especially fitting for Baby John considering he’s literally 12) were perfect, you could really tell how they felt without them needing to say anything

I also liked how Valentina chewed them out! I feel she is one of the people that the Jets would actually somewhat pay attention/listen to, especially considering Tony lives with her, and if not for her doing so there is a good chance they may not even have realised how fucked up of a thing they were actually about to do

YES ABSOLUTELY‼️ I absolutely adore this movie, it is easily one of my favourite movie musicals, and movies in general, and is definitely one of the best musical movies ever made. The casting is perfect, great actors, amazing singers and the dancing was incredible

the whole movie is honestly just magical, and is one that I can easily watch over and over and just never get bored!
