I love to think about Kuras and the MC having a big messy complicated heart-rending argument about His Angelic Atrocities™.

But I also love the idea that MC finds out about Kuras being an angel, and they surprise (!!!) Kuras by being super cool & unbothered about it. And it becomes an inside joke for the two of them.

Leander: (about MC) I'm leaving for a few days, but you'll keep an eye on them for me, right, doctor? :)

MC: I don't need anyone to-

Kuras: I believe I could spare at least a few, yes.

MC: (≧ヮ≦)!!

MC: Hey Leander, I think I might have the secret to getting Kuras to eat with you!

Leander: That's great! :) I'd love to hear any suggestions. :)

MC: While you were gone I heard a rumor.....that Kuras simply cannot resist...(pauses for dramatic effect) a good angelfood cake!!

Kuras sets down to eat a nice slice of angelfood cake with MC and Mhin while doing his ~ precious little mischief smile ~ a few days later. Of course, the doctor must decline for his health.

(And yours--your mental health. Don't fret, Leander. Seeing Kuras pretending to eat is not a good experience. You will be praying to forget afterward.)

Morning/Afternoon/night! I'd like to request mhin in the sickly Victorian child pose pls (⁠ ⁠◜⁠‿⁠◝⁠ ⁠)⁠♡

I like to imagine this is how they found themself after taking ☝️ bite of Kuras’s valentine poison. Bedridden, surrounded by the stray cats they definitely don’t leave the window open for, debating if neglecting seeking medical attention because it might hurt the doctor’s feelings was really worth dying over.

Not sure about canon, but I have considered possibilities with my MC Atheris before... Being the Unnamed, they definitely considered winning a fortune while gambling before deciding it was too risky.

Leander route: sugar baby He insists that they focus on their cure first and foremost. Bloodhound rates!! Everything is covered, really. He is such a good guy. No need to worry about a thing :) But if they really insist... Maybe they can play music at the Wick some nights? Ohhh, Leander can teach them how to mix drinks!

Ais route: Ais introduces them to one of the brothel owners (per his tour) and they end up making lingerie and other small garments!

They specialize in really detailed embroidery work and making lace. Atheris is kind of difficult to employ at first because they insist on working without anyone else present or taking the projects to a second location. (So they can work with their bare hands.) After Ais vouches that nothing shady is going on and they see Atheris' work, it becomes less of an issue. (Let's just hope no one gets too curious...) Also, Princess' official dog walker!!! Self appointed. (They make her some cute outfits, too! Mostly just lace collars for her to wear, they don't want to make her uncomfortable by bogging her down in fabric.) They won't accept money from Ais but he buys them food and other knick knacks which slowly become more and more affectionate. He's definitely just paying them, though. Atheris embroiders some of Ais clothes with cheeky insults that slowly turn into Sparrows and music notes (specific parts of specific songs) and other things that they like to think Ais can look at/touch and feel calmed&grounded by. But they don't mean anything by it, they just got tired of embroidering the word 'bastard' over and over again. No need to call any attention to it, both of them can just Not Talk About It.

Vere route: Vere gives them a lead for 'some snot-nosed brat in Hightown whose family is willing to shell out loads for someone who can teach their tone-deaf little crotchspawn how to play a decent tune'. Atheris ends up teaching some kid how to play an instrument! Said family is carefully outside of Leander's influence. Vere didn't want them to get a job as a performer because he can be a little greedy about them playing just for him doesn't want to deal with having to work around a demanding performance schedule, since he never knows when he'll be free. Being a tutor is much more cushy, and if he comes by to collect Atheris during...the child will keep a secret if they know what's good for them. He demands to dress Atheris so that they can walk the streets of Hightown in fashion and 'look the part'. (Most of their pay is spent on room and board and they don't save much because Vere encourages irresponsible spending habits/buying luxuries.) (Wherever did the clothes Atheris got from Kuras go? Why, he burned those awful rags. The acrid stench of burning fabric was an improvement, however did Atheris stand that god-awful smell on them?)

Mhin route: Mhin's personal freeloader assistant!! Just what Mhin has always wanted! Atheris goes from job to job after asking Leander for suggestions but Atheris always ends up being let go for one reason or another. (Even when they were doing the job well, hmm strange...!) Finally, Atheris starts freelancing random work off Leander but they never seem to have enough money. Mhin actually considers that Leander might be short-changing them, but Mhin has also realized that Atheris just has almost no practical skills. Leander is probably basically giving them charity money-- Atheris didn't even know how to clean dishes properly without being shown. Atheris fixes the Bloodhound's cloaks and other random items reliably, but that type of work doesn't come around very often... Atheris runs errands for Mhin when Mhin is indisposed and Mhin is trying their hardest to be patient and teach Atheris how to budget and haggle effectively.

Kuras route: They attempt to help at the clinic, but they have a worse bedside manner than Kuras does. They do simple tasks and act as his translator scribe when he needs to be legible already has his hands full. (Kuras is amused when they break out their calligraphy for mundane notes.) They mostly just putter around and read Kuras' books, or spend the day trying to make him laugh. Sometimes they will read to Kuras aloud or play him music if he doesn't need to concentrate, which he says he appreciates. They mostly just offer companionship, it doesn't feel much like work at all... Kuras doesn't often give them money, but he will swiftly buy them food and necessities.
