Robb Elementary Shooting

On May 24,2022, 19 kids and 2 adults were shot and killed including 17 people injured inside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. The perpetrator was 18 year old Salvador Ramos who, before arriving at the school, he shot his grandma in the face at home, wounding her severely. Ramos entered the school with an AR-15 style rifle before shooting around 100 rounds into classroom 111 and 112 (where most of the victims were shot). 

A child from classroom 112 calls 911 and identifies her and the classroom number and once again calls a second time a few mintues later and then a third time and a fourth time. Law Enforcement in Uvalde have been criticzed about their tactics and protocols they had during the shooting. Police waited outside for 78 mins before going inside the classroom. Police were also outside on schools grounds causing conflict with parents who were trying to rescue their children who were still stuck inside.

Ramos was shot and killed after an off-duty US Border Patrol Agent Jacob Albarado rescued most of the children inside the classroom the shooter was in. Albarado did save most of the kids lives after shooting Ramos and ending his terrible act. Footage has been released recently of the 77 mins that the police were outside of the classrooms and chillingly enough, the childrens screams were edited out of the footage, a police officer was seen getting hand sanitizer and another officer checking his phone.

Memorials were set up outside of the school’s sign with crosses of each victims name on them, flowers, gifts, etc. Funerals and headstones were offered to the families of the victims for free by local and state businesses. Because of greif, one of the victims husbands, Joe Garcia, died of a heart attack two days after the shooting while attending an memorial.

This is now currently the third deadliest school shooting in the US.

Station Nightclub Fire (2003)

The Station Nightclub Fire happened on February 20th, 2003 at 11:07pm in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The fire was started because of a pryotechnican accident during the band Great White’s performance and the pryotechnics were set off by their tour manager. Flames spreaded in over a minute and black smoke started to fill the club in over two mintues. The end result of this fire tragically took the lives of 100 caused by the blockage of the main exit, injuring 230 and 132 people escaping unharmed. One of those victims was the band’s lead guitarist Ty Longley and the DJ Mike “The Doctor” Gonsalves. The fire was captured on video by a WPRI-TV cameraman named Brian Butler and this video is currently still online. There has been many trials and investagations surrounding this incident on wether not pryotechnics were allowed to be used. This fire is currently the fourth deadliest nightclub fire in US history. There is a Station Fire memorial park in West Warwick, Rest in Peace to all of the victims and pray for those who are affected by this tragic event.

Manchester Arena Bombing

On May 22, 2017 a suicide bombing happened at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England as people were leaving an Ariana Grande concert. The perpetrators were Salman and Hashem Abedi and they killed 22 people and wounded 1,017 other concert goers. Several hundred people were left with psychological trauma from this event.

On June 4th, 2017 Ariana Grande hosted a benefit concert event in Manchester called “One Love Manchester” at Old Trafford Cricket Ground and it was brodcasted live on television, radio, and social media. Many artists preformed at this concert and overall the concert and Red Cross fund raised £10 million for the victims of the attack and £17 million by August.

San Ysidro McDonald’s Massacre

The San Ysidro McDonald’s Massacre occurred at a McDonald’s in the town San Ysidro of San Diego,CA on July 19, 1984. The perpetrator was 41 year old James Huberty, who fatally shot 21 people and wounded 19 others before being killed by police.

His wife, Etna, asked where he was going with a small arsenal of weapons and he replied with “I’m going to hunt humans.” He had been at that same Mcdonald’s with his wife and children earlier that day before the massacre. James walked into the Mcdonald’s with a semiautomatic rifle, a semiautomatic pistol and a 12-gauge pump shotgun. He told his family, “Goodbye, I won’t be back”.

On that day 45 people were in that Mcdonald’s. He then started killing and wounding many others inside and outside of the San Ysidro Mcdonald’s. Police then interfered and 27 yr old police SWAT sniper named Charles Foster sniped James and killed him instantly. Huberty shouted things about fighting in the Vietnam War but was never actually part of the military.

A permanent memorial to those killed in the massacre was unveiled on December 13, 1990. The victims were:

•Death of Kenneka Jenkins•

Kenneka Jenkins was at a party with her friends on September 8, 2017 at 11:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Chicago. Someone who was at the party noticed Kenneka to be somewhat drunk. Other people took notice of her drinking but nothing other than that. Another witness reported that Kenneka wasn’t acting like herself. Kenneka was seen with her friends walking down the hall but then by herself at the front desk visibly drunk. Her friends then contacted Kennekas’ mother Teresa Martin at around 5:30 a.m.

Hotel management said they couldn’t provide access to security footage from the night before until someone reported Kenneka missing. They officially reported her missing the next day at 1:15 p.m. At first they couldn’t find anything on video but then they saw Kenneka stumbling through the hotel. Her whereabouts remained unknown until they found her dead in the hotel freezer and pronounced dead on Sunday 12:48 a.m. She was found lying face down with one shoe off. The freezer was found to be 34 F degrees approximately two hours after the doors have been left open.

On October 6, 2017, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office ruled Kennekas’ death an accident. The autopsy found no illegal drugs in her system but her blood alchol level was 0.112. Traces of topiramate, a drug used to treat epilepsy and migranes was found in her system although she was never prescribed it. Topiramate mixed with alchol can cause the onset of hypothermia. Brain swelling was also observed but it was not associated with her death.

Kennekas’ friends stories remained inconsistent about what happened after the party. The friends told Teresa that Kenneka had gone downstairs with some people but they actually left her alone to go and get a cellphone from one of the hotel rooms.

•Suzane von Richthofen•

Suzane Louise vin Richthofen is a brazilian convicted murderer who murdered both of her parents on October 31, 2002 with the help of her boyfriend and his brother. Suzane was the daughter of Manfred Albert von Richthofen who was a German engineer and Marísia Sílvia Abdalla who was a Lebanese-Brazilian psychiatrist.

Suzane had planned the murder of her parents for months. She checked if they were asleep and shut off the alarm of her estate and then let her boyfriend Daniel Cravinhos and his brother Christian Cravinhos. Both of the brothers went upstairs to the parents’ bedroom and hit them with iron bars and then strangling them with towels. After the murder, all three of the murderers simulated to make it look more like a break-in. Her motive was to inherit her parents’ money.

A few days later on November 9, 2002 Chrisitan was arrested as well as Daniel and Suzane, who soon confesses to the murders. Suzane was released from prison in May 2005 when the Supreme Court ruled her as habeas corpus. On July 22, 2006, Suzane was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Daniel got the same sentence and Christian was sentenced to 38 years for conspiracy. Currently, Suzane is in custody in a woman’s prison outside São Paulo

•Naya Rivera’s Disapperance•

On July 8, 2020, Naya Rivera was declared missing after her four year old son Josey was found on a boat that Naya rented at Lake Piru in Ventura County, CA. She was planning to have a barbeque with her son by the lake. Josey was found alone, sleeping on the boat with his life jacket on, along with that was an adult life jacket with Naya’s identification. Josey told investigators that they were swimming when Naya told him to get back on the boat, she helped him up and tried to get herself up but she disappered underwater while calling out for help.

On July 9, the sheriff’s department presumed Naya dead and started recovery efforts for her body. On July 13, it was announced that a body has been found and it was confirmed to be Naya’s and her death certificate states she was dead within minutes. On July 14, the Ventura County medical examiner released an autopsy report stating that the cause of death was an accidental drowning and that there was no evidence of injury or intoxication.

Naya was known for her role on Glee as Santana Lopez. Her character was an openly LGBT+ character and that had an impact on the fans of the show. Her memorial was recently taken down at the lake but this is what it looked like. It had a pride flag along with it including pictures of her, flowers and glee merchandis/fan art.

•Hart Family crash•

TW: SUICIDE

On March 26, 2018, Jennifer and Sarah Hart committed a murder-suicide where they murdered their six adopted children and themselves by driving off a cliff in Mendocino County, CA.

The women began their relationship at the university they both attended. On Facebook, Jennifer stated that the women were initially closeted and faced homophobia once they publicly outed themselves, prompting their moves. They moved to Alexandria, Minnesota, in 2004, were subsequently residents of West Linn, Oregon, and an area in Clark County, Washington and had six adopted children during their lives.

Prior to the adoptions, they adopted a 15 yr old girl and brought her to therapy but soon after the therapist said the Harts weren’t a good fit for her. Abigail, Hannah Jean, and Markis Hart were all adpoted from Colorado County, TX. In June 2008 they then adopted Ciera Majia, Devonte Jordan, and Jeremiah.

Prior the deaths, the kids suffered abuse from Jennifer and Sarah. Hannah was seen with brusies on her arms, Abigail had injuries on her back and stomach, etc. Before the death Sarah googled searches about Benadryl, no kill shelters, and the nature of drowning. Toxicology reports show Jennifer was over the alcohol limit and Sarah and two of the children had diphenhydramine in their systems.

•The Watts Family Murders•

On August 13, 2018 in Frederick, CO, Christopher Lee Watts confessed to killing his pregnant wife Shan’ann Cathryn Watts by strangulation and his two daughters, 4 yr old Bella and 3 yr old Celeste by smothering them. Watts then disposed of his daughters' bodies in oil tanks and buried his wife in a shallow grave at his work-site. He pleaded guilty on November 6, 2018, to multiple counts of first-degree murder as part of a plea deal when the death penalty was removed from sentencing. He was sentenced to five life sentences without the possibility of parole, three to be served consecutively and two to be served concurrently.

Christopher Lee Watts and Shan'ann Cathryn Watts were natives of Spring Lake and Aberdeen, North Carolina. They met in 2010, and were married in Mecklenburg County on November 3, 2012, according to online records. They had two daughters: Bella Marie Watts (born December 17, 2013) and Celeste Cathryn "Cece" Watts (born July 17, 2015).

The family lived in a five-bedroom home in Frederick, Colorado, purchased in 2013, the couple declared bankruptcy in 2015. Chris Watts was employed by Anadarko Petroleum, while Shan'ann was an independent representative for the multi-level marketing company Le-vel, selling a product called Thrive. At the time of her death, she was fifteen weeks pregnant with a son whom they had planned to name Nico Lee Watts; her due date was January 31, 2019.

•Death of Kendrick Johnson•

On January 11, 2013, the body of Kendrick Johnson (October 10, 1995-January 11, 2013), was found in a rolled up gym mat in the gym of Lowndes High School in Valdosta, GA. He had 3 autopsys done in the course of this case.

The first autopsy revealed the death was accidental, positional asphyxia, 2nd autopsy revealed blunt force trauma, and 3rd autopsy revealed apparent non-suicidal, blunt force trauma. It was hypothesized that Johnson had accidentally fallen into the mat to find his shoe but was unable to get out.

In November 2013, 290 hours of surveillance tape from 35 cameras that covered the gym area was released to CNN following a court request. A forensic analyst enlisted by CNN found that tapes from two cameras are missing an hour and five minutes of footage, while another set was missing two hours and ten minutes of footage.

Suspects in the case were named Bell and Brandon and their father (FBI Agent Rick Bell). The lawsuit states a white female classmate lured Johnson into a unamed location where he was fatally beaten by both of the brothers and one other student.

The case remains: UNSOLVED

On October 1, 2017, there was a mass shooting during the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas, NV. The perpetrator named Stephen Paddock was shooting at the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. He killed 58 people and wounded 413 others and bringing the injury total to 869. Paddock eventually shot himself in the hotel room and the movtie remains uncertain.

The Virgina Tech Shooting was a school shooting that happened on April 16, 2007 in Blacksburg, VA at Virgina Polytechinc Insititute and State University. The perpetrator Seung-Hui Cho, who was a resident at the university, shot and killed 32 people and wounded 17 others. Cho ended his life inside of the school. This shooting was the deadliest school shooting in US history. The motive is inconclusive. The university held a candlelight vigil the day after the shootings.

•Lyle and Erik Menendez•

TW: Sexual Assualt and Abuse

Joseph Lyle Menéndez (January 10, 1968) and Erik Galen Menéndez (November 27, 1970) are brothers who were convicted of killing both of their parents José Menèndez (LIVE Entertainment executive) and Mary (“Kitty”).

The reason behind their murders was because the brothers parents sexually assaulted them for years and caused emotional abuse that the brothers alleged themselves and mostly was done by José. The brothers walked into their family household on August 20, 1989 and shot both of their parents and later calling 9-1-1 saying that “Someone shot my parents!”

The brothers were not a main suspect at first but after many trials, they were both convicted of first-degree murder and a conspiracy to commit murder. Their penalty is life in prison without the possibility of parole. They currently are incarcerated at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, CA.

•Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting•

The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting happened on December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT. The perpetrator, Adam Lanza, shot and killed 20 children between the ages of six and seven years old and six staff members. He then ended his life as well.

Before going to the school, Adam shot and killed his mother. Adam had suffered from Aspergers, depression, anxiety, and OCD (Obessive Compulsive Disorder) but it was concluded that none of these caused this incident. Adam was known to be a shy kid and never came out of his shell as much. In his final months, he played World of Warcraft and other games. Weeks before the killing, Nancy Lanza, Adam’s mother, was considering moving to another town and that idea was what reporters believe was the reason he shot up the school. But the motive is inconclusive

The Columbine Massacre was a school shooting that happened on April 20,1999 and the perpetrators were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. 15 people were killed along with the perpetrators. 24 people were injured (21 by gunfire).

Eric and Dylan’s motives are unknown as to why they have done this but they have wrote down stuff in their journals, school work and made tapes called “The Basement Tapes” which only a few have been released to the public. Eric and Dylan also played alot of shooting games such as Doom, Doom II, and Quake.

A permanent memorial "to honor and remember the victims of the April 20, 1999 shootings at Columbine High School" began planning in June 1999, and was dedicated on September 21, 2007, in Clement Park. The memorial fund raised $1.5 million in donations over eight years of planning. Designing took three and a half years and included feedback from victims' families, survivors, the high school's students and staff, and the community.
