Who would have thought that Valentine was such a paranoid jealous man. Sometimes he says such stupid things, blaming everyone around him except himself.
Tumblr media
Even his "I would never hurt Jocelyn" sounds ridiculous. Guy, you experimented on her and the child, killed her parents, burned down the family estate that never belonged to you and left her to her fate yourself. The latter is the only good thing he's done for her.
He damn well chained her up! claiming it was for her safety. What's wrong with him!

In "city of Bones," Valentine says that he knew Jocelyn was going to leave him, and that with the help of her parents, she would have taken Jonathan away from him. I wondered if Jocelyn had really left him before the uprising, would she have taken Jonathan, who she was so disgusted with?

What does the special soldier training program in the Morgenstern family look like? Jace says his father gave him a classical education. But what does it mean?
I read how boys were raised in Sparta: through pain, and even from infancy they slept in solid cradles. discipline and punishment were the foundation. The whip played an important role in education - it is both a punishment, a lesson, and an exam for overcoming pain. Spartans should not experience cold, hunger, or fear.

The formation of Sebastian
After this excerpt about Jonathan's exams, I thought that the Morgenstern upbringing was somewhat Spartan.

Valentine's relationship with his father surprises me. he loved him so much, despite all the cruelty - if you believe Sebastian's words about the same upbringing. It doesn't seem right when Sebastian compares Valentine and Jace-that Clary could understand Valentine's feelings for her father, knowing Jace. because Jace also loved and hated his father. but this is not true. Jace loved his father. But hated Valentine, who caused so much evil to the whole world! Jace's hatred of Valentine is understandable. why should Valentine hate his father? to hate him and destroy everything in the name of the father. this is strange. Valentine is strange.
What I don't understand is this: was Sebastian not affected by the magic of loyalty? but Ash was able to stop him with just one word, so the magic was working. How then could Sebastian have killed Ash if magic was working on him and he wanted to protect him?
Valentine, out of love for his father, ruined his life and many others, wanting revenge for the death of his father, the death of his parents literally drove him crazy.
Jonathan-Sebastian… I think deep down in his "soul" he breathed a sigh of relief when his father died and he was freed from his control. Could he love Valentina - hardly. All he wanted to do was prove that he was the best.
Ash calls his father "the infernal father" and kills him without a drop of regret.
What we see… Degradation of family relations of the Morgenstern family.

they are the most mysterious family for me. I would like to know more about his background and ancestors!
The Morgensterns are Swiss, but they don't seem to speak German anymore, but they know Russian and Romanian. The Morgensterns owned a pair of Circassian daggers, the cold steel of the Caucasus. Black eye color is most often a sign of Oriental blood. Who are the Morgensterns really?

That's what I'm wondering, the murder of Max and Isabelle (unsuccessful) Was it Sebastian's own initiative, or did he do it on Valentine's orders? If he killed a little boy at will, did Valentine find out that Jonathan killed a defenseless child and what did he think about it? because it seemed to me that he did not feel pleasure when he learned that Jonathan had killed Hodge.

If children are given second names in honor of someone, then in honor of whom was Jonathan given the middle name Christopher and on whose line?🤔

if we talk specifically about strength in battle, and not about sincere love, then Lucian and Valentine would be strong, they are skilled fighters, well… jace and Jace🤭 oops, Jace and Alec.
I am including only the ones that stuck together and didn't stab each other on the back. So I am excluding Julian and Emma, Michael and Robert, Luke and Valentine for obvious reasons.

I sincerely do not understand why Valentine allowed himself to be bound by the parabatai rune to Lucian. Valentine may be terrible as a person and has many flaws, but as a warrior he is one of the best, and he certainly does not need an assistant in battle, which would only be a distraction. Later, Valentin calls the connection with parabatai a weakness, and for a man like him, it really is a weakness. I am inclined to believe that they were children and friends then, and perhaps this decision was spontaneous. Valentine and Lucian's parabatai bond is just their frivolous decision and a huge mistake. I would like to see the answer in the canon someday, why did they bind themselves and who suggested it first?

I watched "the hunger games the ballad of songbirds and snakes" and it seemed to me that he would be the perfect young Valentine!

Wasn't Stephen buried with honors? Were his parents in charge of the funeral, and he died in battle, or am I confusing something? Celine - everyone was sure that she had committed suicide (except Hodge and Valentine) - she was not even sorry, it was her payback for the destroyed family! That's who I feel sorry for in all this funeral mess, it's Michael: he was killed, buried under the name of Valentine (hmm, I wonder if he was buried as a criminal?), his killer lived in his house, organizing a torture chamber for an angel.
I hope this has been fixed at least, or are there two graves with Valentine's name in the cemetery?
But I really don't understand why such a procession was suddenly organized in honor of Valentine. Obviously, Cassie forgot how to bury a criminal, there is no other explanation
Valentine Morgenstern violated all the laws of heaven, and for some reason they buried him properly, burned him maybe for the same reason as Sebastian, so that no one could resurrect him, but Valentine was escorted on that way with all the honors, as if deep down the shadowhunters supported his policy
