There was a time when I was ship Valentine and Maryse, and even thought that Izzy was their daughter, because of the color of her eyes and the phrase Val (my Maryse) - which, of course, is not the case. But they have a more similar nature, at least in their youth, and if they were together, the uprising would have definitely gone well. Now I am more inclined to the fact that Valentine doesn't need anyone, he is better off (and everyone else) when he is presented to himself.

Im really wondering when in the circle era the jocelyn and luke story wil be, because theres so many choices that have different vibes. Is it when they are at school. Is it when the circle is properly starting. Is it after luke has become a werewolf and returns to her. Is it in the lead up to the mortal cup or the stealing of it and subsequent hiding. Is it when luke returns for jocelyn in nyc. There are so many posibilities.

yeah! like even with the specification of being "in the past" Luke & Jocelyn have known each other for so long it really could be anything. like he was in love with her for 22 years & never said anything. is it something we know happened or something we don't?? it could just be so many things.

I personally would prefer if it was when they were younger (before Luke became a werewolf etc) just because the circle, especially in those early days, is so fascinating to me. but on the other hand, we do have pretty limited information on the later era of the circle so maybe theres more of a gap to fill there?? which would also be really interesting. like Jocelyn finding out Luke's alive, coming to terms with who Valentine actually is, reconnecting with Luke and the lead up to the uprising, there's just so much to work with.

whenever it is set, it will be interesting tbh. just the fact we'll be seeing inside one (or both?) of their heads will be enlightening. I'm might be the most excited for this short story honestly, there's just so much possibility

naive of you to assume i wasn’t going to send you one anyway. i think i like all circle members, only the top 3 are definitive, everything after depends on the mood so i won't even number

Robert Lightwood. he's only my all time favorite character and i think about him every minute of my existence since i've read The Evil We Love all those years ago. nothing special

Michael Wayland. this adorable little man crawled into the grossest deeps of robert's grumpy cold heart and said "There's nothing wrong with you, Robert." and got his heart broken horribly. in the process turned waywood into my all time favorite ship and changed my life. thanks man

Maryse Lightwood. gaslight gatekeep girlboss? except that she was the gaslighted one i think... anyway, she put up with robert for 24 freaking years, and post-michael robert was so annoying. mother. but also literally badass mom. i wish we understood her better.

Luke Garroway. it's giving father figure and can be shipped with several people. at the same time he's an asshole who doesn’t aknowledge his own assholery and that gives him depth because it's more realistic than let's say robert who thinks everything he does is a unexcusable mistake

Valentine Morgenstern. [redacted] but what he and luke have going is kinda hot not gonna lie

Stephen Herondale. my lightwood loving bias would usually stop me from touching a golden annoying mf even with a ten foot pole but this one can and will be poked with a sharp ten foot pole because like maryse he is somehow nasty enough to put up with robert's grumpy face and he's also a huge loser

Jocelyn Fairchild. luke's female half but with not page time enough to be cool. i think a problem is that her character on page doesn’t live up to what's built around her, even less than luke, and that makes her underwhelming, but i'm her apologist when it comes to her decisions as a mother, i will choose her over her biological son anytime

Hodge Starkweather. deserves better. he was stuck in the same house with robert and maryse for 15 years. that's punishment enough if we're being real

Céline Montclaire. i understand why some readers love her. she's kind but has a selfish side, which makes her human. on practice she's too nice to me, and not nasty enough to put up with robert

Amatis Graymark. i genuinely like her and stephen as a couple i just don't care much about her individually, which is a shame because her story is interesting. i guess she has a similar problem as jocelyn

i think all circle members are interesting characters so in my head they're awesome. i hope this list satisfies you

I am very interested in their relationship, although most likely their friendship was very toxic. Did Luke even realize that Valentine had betrayed him before, even before he handed him the dagger and told him to kill himself? Valentine betrayed him when he framed him, he betrayed their friendship, their parabatai bond... And after that, Luke didn't hate him. And after that, it's Valentine who accuses Luke of betrayal! Ah, I want a story about them!

A little reminder: Luke realized he was in love with Jocelyn when Valentine started dating her. The curse of the parabatai "one woman for two"?

In "city of glass," when Sebastian expressed his opinion about the entire team, he called Alec unworthy of being a shadowhunter, disgusting because he was unconventional, and I wondered if he had picked up such contempt for LGBT people from Valentine? If so, how did Valentine feel about Michael, because, of course, he knew who Michael loved, but still kept him in a circle. Could Valentine have advised Michael to confess his love to Robert, because he knew that this would lead to their quarrel and the removal of Michael, who is not only LGBT, but and he was not afraid to express his opinion.
