aaravos / claudia analysis ™
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The new S6 promotional art has to mean something for Aaravos’s connection to Claudia Season 6. There’s the connection with the short story Ripples of course and Aaravos’s manipulation of mages, but now I am wondering if Claudia will be preyed on by Aaravos after he gets out - using her loss, anger at herself and the world for her loss and being unable to save her dad - and he’ll channel it into making her a weapon against Xadia, maybe even the tragic main villain.
Taking it a step further, maybe he expected and respected Viren’s decision to die in the first place because he knew it would make Claudia spiral further and he offered to bring him back in the first place so that Claudia would 1. set in motion the steps toward his freedom and 2. trust Aaravos (and his rhetoric…) and 3. have a taste of his power to change things, which will undeniably be tempting.
I feel like Claudia and Aaravos’s outlooks have aligned in the past (ie: Claudia saying “Impassible is just another form of passible” and Aaravos saying “Yesss”) and Aaravos has had his eye on her for a long time, back to Aaravos saying “Well done. She will be a valuable asset”, having Viren lie to his kids so she wouldn’t leave Viren, and all the way back to Claudia saying it felt like the mirror put her on notice too.
Tumblr media
Aaravos using her as a weapon against Xadia would parallel how he used Viren’s grief after Harrow’s death and anger at the Pentarchy to set Viren on a path to conquer Xadia. Viren, with reason but also spite, took Callum’s voice taunting him for being a nepo-baby, killed Avizandum, and coined Runaan. Aaravos encouraged Viren to kill the leaders of the four other countries and to kill the guards hunting him in the castle of Katolis. In comparison, Claudia has, unprovoked, almost killed a dragon just for hell of it and taunted Rayla with her parents just to not give them back (even knowing what it’s like to have a parental figure taken away.) Terry was the only thing stopping her. Terry was talking her down both times. Terry is no longer in the picture. (for Claudia, currently at least.) Who knows what she’ll do with that lack of checking and Aaravos egging her on.
She repeats rhetoric that humans deserve revenge for being treated by trash and that dragons and elves should be afraid of her, a fire that Aaravos’s guidance will only fan further. Her rhetoric has been undoubtedly shaped by both Viren’s and Aaravos’s actions, spite, and other reasoning.
Tumblr media
carrying the same prejudices and likes as her father, “Look dad, I’m following in your footsteps!” + “Aaravos can change things!” to Soren. + the fever dream metaphor that Claudia goes dangerously further than Viren, stops listening to him, (foreshadowing for future conversations where Viren and Soren plead with Claudia to stop) and gets swallowed up in something she could never predict, something much larger than herself.
Tumblr media
Endgame? Well. Claudia has a lot of parallels to Ziard, and we see how that ended… also, that’s a scene in S3. So if S6 does parallel S3… well. It doesn’t end well for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Repeated water motifs)
Claudia currently feels like she’s lost everything. Her mom, her brother, her strength… she prided herself on that but she wasn’t strong enough to beat the Dragang and so she wasn’t strong enough to save her dad. She believes she’ll keep losing and so she cuts herself off from Terry to avoid losing that too.
Tumblr media
Key: She is in her darkest place thus far, similar to Viren when he had lost everything and was desperate enough to make a blood pact with a strange elf in the mirror. And what if, once again, that strange elf was there to help the most desperate? If Claudia is made to believe she’s strong enough again, with the aid of a little magic, if she’s given that validation and care again, she can do anything. It would parallel the Reflections story ‘Lost Child’:
Tumblr media
If she’s strong enough, and her faith is restored, no one will ever leave her again. They’ll come to understand.
Again it was how she was taught. “I’ll do anything for our family, Dad. Whatever it takes, however dangerous, however vile.” and it’s going to lead to her shaping into a more vindictive villain and to her doom.

Is this Celestial Elf Villads’ true form?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Celestial elf shown here appears to be a Skywing elf, and I've written before about how I think Villads is connected to the Sky primal
The elf looks like a more polished version of Villads. Both have mustaches, and long beards, and hair length is about the same
Both cover their eyes
'But Villads is human!'
He appears to be.
In 03x05 Lujanne uses moon magic to create an illusion of her appearing human so she can travel around. I suspect that Villads is also using moon magic, probably from moon opals, to create the illusion of appearing human.
Tumblr media
Lujanne still has four fingers in human form, but Villads wears gloves to cover his hands like Rayla does to hide the fact that she has four fingers

Okay, there's a clip from the Dragon Prince Xadia trailer that is kinda making me freak. Could be relevant.
(Spoilers)
Tumblr media
Dark magic purple eyes and possibly a Stars core/heart thing glowing on the chest.
Aaravos' Plan for Viren
In Reel James S5 interview Ehasz confirmed there was a connection between Aaravos' 'swallowed Aditi' comment and the giant skeleton found at Aaravos prison.
Tumblr media
Which has lead to a lot of speculation about shapeshifting Aaravos, or possessing Luna Tenebris corpse etc.
My speculation is that this skeleton is from a creature Aaravos created, but his working was interrupted by the Orphan Queen and the archdragons' plan. Heck, this could be the main reason he was caught.
Aaravos has been tricking Viren into retrying this great working. Only better! Because Viren has something that wasn't around 300 years ago.
Plus, a theory about Kim'dael's Bloodmoon cult.
Spoilers from Season 4 & 5 and Book 2 Sky novel, and stuff from interviews, below the cut.
Warning - really long post...
History Repeats Itself if Someone Weaves Threads of Fate Tight Enough.
Events occurring in the present and 300 years ago are echoing each other extremely loudly.
The Dragon Monarch dies - Luna Tenebris and Avizandum
A human mage/king, that is under Aaravos' influence, plans a war - Viren and unnamed blond king.
A politically important and magically powerful individual goes missing, which would present difficulties in transferring power after Dragon Monarch's death - Queen Aditi and Zym
Both of these magically powerful individual meet 'swallow' fates, though Zym survives his.
There is massive upheaval in the Sunfire kingdom - Queen Aditi's disappearance is blamed on archdragons, Viren/Aaravos corrupt the Sunforge and contaminates Lux Aurea.
While Viren's dragon slaying and eggnapping started this echo, Aaravos has been guiding events so they align up. The only event that doesn't immediately seem to be blamed on Aaravos or Viren are Luna Tenebris' death - but, it does seem suspicious, and I'm going to expand on a theory about that in a bit. But the take away point is that I believe that Aaravos has tried this plan before 300 years ago and failed.
The Great Working - a break down on how Aaravos has been chivvying Viren unwittingly along.
Right from the first silent meeting across the mirror. Aaravos doesn't bother establishing any alternative communication (like writing or signing). After Aaravos notices Viren has Ziard's staff, he simply presents the spell artefacts and, eventually, Viren plays along.
The Blood binding ritual - They both make and drink an enchanted potion, then spill their blood into part of the enchantment artefacts, which combines and enchants their blood, then Aaravos drinks the blood to create Lil Bug Pal. Then Aaravos presents Lil Bug Pal as a means of contact from wherever he's imprisoned.
However, going by Book 2 Sky novel, this spell pre-dates Aaravos' imprisonment.
A little while later the mirror mage returned to view, carrying a small ornate chest. ... Viren felt he had seen this object somewhere before . ... Yes, he could see it perfectly in his memory - a chest which could be this one's twin, or sibling at least, belonged to Kpp'Ar. Certainly, it was among the irreplaceable relics his mentor had destroyed during the profligate tantrum he called his repentance.
Channelling - passing energy/magic between them, which cemented a connection. Viren is being apprehended by the guards, Aaravos warns him that he's in danger and to follow his instructions in battle. Viren could have just gone back into the secret passage, or not made things worse for his defence by fighting. In Book 2: Sky novel describes this as;
He could sense his movements and actions being gently directed. Viren did not feel controlled, but he understood that somehow, invisible strings connected him with the Startouch elf. ... Though his [Aaravos] actual location was a mystery even to him, there was no denying that in this moment he was in a way present and completely connected to Viren.
Gestation - Aaravos convinces Viren to smuggle Bug Pal into the Sunfire kingdom by hiding it down his throat. This has similarity to how Aaravos formed Bug Pal in the first place and Bug Pal becomes significantly bigger.
Empowering - This happens off screen, so speculation here. Between corrupting the Sunforge scene and returning to the human armies Bug Pal grows much bigger. Presumably, this growth comes from energy from the Sunforge. Aaravos possibly presented this as teaching and grabbing the power for the Hearts of Cinder spell used on the army, as that's the next big spell Viren casts. 🤔 My other speculation is it forges a link for the working to the Sunforge - Aaravos has been purposefully targeting the Sunfire kingdom as part of his plan, even before he was imprisoned, as he picked the most disruptive time possible to disappear Queen Aditi. Significance of this in a bit.
Swallowing - While Aaravos original phrased it that taking down Zubeia and capturing Zym would garner him world attention - so more political power, after the Hearts of Cinder spell there's no more beating about the bush. Viren is invested in this ride and Aaravos just promises he can take Zym's power for his own. Aaravos himself casts this dark magic spell via Bug Pal and Zaird's staff. Viren just has to stand there and make off-putting faces and noises while receiving this... bounty. This is clearly one of the crux parts of the working - stealing a world leading power and gifting it to a human.
Aaravos' spell rewinds to - "He swallows your heart. He swallows your mind. He swallows your power." The phrasing matching the disturbing "You're just like your grandmother. Would you like to know the truth of her fate before you meet yours? I swallowed her." Which makes me wonder if Aaravos has done this spell before, only using that blond king shown in the imprisonment flashbacks to steal Aditi's power, rather than some cannibalism thing.
Tumblr media
Side note - How could Aditi compare to an infant archdragon for use in the working? Aditi is particularly powerful - even the archdragons respected her. There's also hints she possesses a unique Light ability that helps her make judgments - the archdragon's held her judgment as the highest, she's called "guiding light" and the "Light of the Sun Incarnate" and there's that scene where bright light erupts from her glabella. This power seems Stars adjacent (and potentially a threat to Aaravos' secrets and plans).
“You are not afraid of me—but what of the dragons?” asked Kim’dael. “You would dare invoke their wrath?” “The dragons know better than to invoke mine,” Aditi said. She struck the metal again and again, purposeful and confident. Not a shred of her strength was wasted. “Is that not why you came to me? For my protection?” “I came because the dragons trust your judgment. Your guiding light,” Kim’dael told her, feigning meekness. “But my queen, they do not fear you. The dragons fear nothing.” “They feared you once.” Kim’dael twitched a smirk of pride and quickly hid it. ... “A token of my protection,” Aditi told her. “As I promised.” “A false promise. How…unbecoming. I thought it beneath the Sunfire elves to lie.” “I did not lie. That collar claims you as mine, and as I told you, the dragons know better than to risk my wrath.” Aditi gestured to the thing around Kim’dael’s neck.  The Queen's Mercy
Then Viren took a really long first step down the world's tallest stairs and died. Two years later Claudia uses a resurrection spell Aaravos taught her via Bug Pal, and the 30 day prison hunt begins.
Hatching the homunculus out of the cocoon. Claudia is told this is to create a guide who will lead them to the information they need to locate Aaravos' prison - but Viren is who was expected to cast the spell. Instead, Viren's hesitance means Claudia just decides to perform the spell herself. Kinda curious how this misstep will effect the working.
Consuming the homunculus' essence - Even before Claudia has completed her mission, Aaravos is urging Viren to commit the life extension spell, before the resurrection spell expires.
Now he's here for you. And I will show you how to use every drop of his living essence to restore your own life and your future. The resurrection spell will expire tonight, and you will die. You must make the sacrifice. If you don't, tomorrow, the sun will rise... and you will not. [Infantis Sanguine]
Which harkens back to what Aaravos was promising before Viren died;
When you capture the dragonling, I will show you how to take his power, how to imbue yourself with all his magic and potentials, so that you will transcend the limits of your human form. Then none will dare stand against you. [Final Battle]
If you break down what Aaravos says here as steps - 1, take power, 2, imbue yourself, 3, transcend human limit - then this is a strong indicator Aaravos always intended for Viren to consume the stolen power from Zym (and the Sunforge) by absorbing Sparklepuff's essence. That the absorption occurs during a life extension spell is just making omlets out of broken eggs.
The goal all along was to "transcend the limits of your human form" Very peculiar wording. Remember the giant skeleton at Aaravos prison - the big creature Aaravos created was formerly the blond king.
Tumblr media
Why Viren?
At the end of S3 Aaravos' Bug Pal is free to roam, can talk to others (he speaks to Claudia) and can possibly even cast spells. So, couldn't Aaravos pick a not dead dark mage, restart the spell, go wild in abandoned Lux Aurea and just sneak in to spell zap Zym, instead of taking 2 years to resurrect Viren? Heck, he could convince Claudia that, with this method, he could gift her the power to permanently resurrect Viren - she'd even know her way around Katolis Castle to grab the mirror, if it's necessary.
Viren has one accomplishment, with still existing ingredients, that's making him too tempting to pass up. The Mystery of Aaravos opening even hints what's particularly of interest about Viren to Aaravos.
He killed Avizandum with the Weapon of Vengeance spell. The weapon is still there, stuck in Avizandum's remains. A spell powerful enough to fell "the most powerful being in the world" and it's magic is keyed to Viren.
Tumblr media
Why I think the cursed unicorn horn is important to the working? I don't think Luna Tenebris just keeled over for no reason, I think she died due to Aaravos' machination to get ingredients for the working. But rather than blond king killing her, Aaravos got the Bloodmoon cult to kill Luna Tenebris.
Tumblr media
First, the blatant bloodmoon image when discussing her death. The cult's big rituals require the power of the bloodmoon, so they can infuse essence and powers into blood, which they can consume at their convenience and use their powers outside of moon's cycle.
Go back to the Queen's Mercy short story and Kim'dael is proud of how the dragons once feared the cult. Avizandum only hunts them down after the death of Luna Tenebris - they've been active long enough that most of the horror stories humans have about Moonshadow elves are actually about Bloodmoon elves. It could be because he discovered what they did and believed they'd become too big a threat.
Luna Tenebris is a Moon Archdragon, and the cult is about increasing their moon powers, by sacrificing others using dark magic rituals. Yes, the Bloodmoon cult uses dark magic - that's straight up confirmed by Ehasz in AIPT comic S5 interview.
AIPT: Kim’dael is one cool character. A lot of times when you have graphic novel spinoffs, they’re just that. But you bring a character who you introduced in the graphic novels and introduce her in such a cool way, that she has to be a big player in seasons six and seven, right? JR: She’s awesome, we have plans for Kim’dael that go beyond the show. AE: She complicates the story in a really important way. In the first three seasons, the narrative of the world is that humans use dark magic, primal magic is for elves and dragons, humans are naughty and bad because they do this. Kim’dael shows that there’s elves who have gone there. The way she does, the way that she does, is beyond primal magic. She’s found ways through dark magic to extend her primal moon powers. It’s very evil how she is able to do what she does and extend her life, and use her powers that would normally only be used under the full moon, she can use anytime because she’s infused blood with the light of the full moon. That’s dark. We love Kim’Dael, but we love what she means about the world of Xadia, and the narrative that’s not been acknowledged. There’s darkness and complication across the Elven world as well.
If Aaravos gifted dark magic to humans, then who else could he have gifted this knowledge to? (Kinda hoping he personally knows Kim'dael, that'd be a cool twist). And his prize would have been archdragon blood infused with the most powerful archdragon's essence.
Why is Aaravos after an ingredient related to the most powerful archdragon around at the time? Because he's trying to create his own archdragon - a Stars archdragon. (Possibly also Dark magic archdragon, if that even makes sense, like - dark magic corrupted Stars archdragon?)
There's that info in the Tales of Xadia handbook about Stars Devourer dragons - a myth that when a star disappears it's due to one of these dragons entering the core of a star and absorbing its magic. (Heck, there's even a little legend about a king who wanted to be remembered forever and made a wish upon a star dragon bone. His name was forgotten, but the legend lives on, which does also fit it neatly with the whole bones of a king who failed to become a star dragon).
But, what if the artificial Stars dragon can only really become a true star dragons if they manage to consume a star - in this case, the Sunforge. Which is why Aaravos has been targeting Lux Aurea.
Tumblr media
So, 300 years ago, using Luna archdragon essence and the Stars adjacent Guiding Light power of Aditi, Aaravos uses a human dark mage to create a pseudo-dragon, but is unable get around to completing it and it dies. The Orphan Queen's image shows her catching out Aaravos' treachery when his own Key shines the Stars primal - what if she came across this pseudo-dragon and the Key confirmed it was a Stars dragon in the making. The archdragons not only imprisoned Aaravos, they put down his creation and left the remains over his prison as a warning to anyone who might think to release Aaravos about what kind of horror he's trying to unleash. (I'm assuming Jailer arranged the placement).
Now, Aaravos has Sparklepuff imbued with infant Sky Archdragon potential, a cursed unicorn horn powerful enough to fell a Dragon Monarch (unicorns are Stars primal) and the Sunforge under his control. Which should make this attempt much easier (well, except for Viren trying to skip out on it).
Why would Aaravos want to create a Stars archdragon?
Possible reasons;
Viren could channel energy and magic from Aaravos, if this is an open channel, then Aaravos could channel power from an archdragon. He's already mastered all 6 primals, getting archdragon powers is pretty much the only power upgrade he hasn't got.
Aaravos could just be planning to switch bodies with his creation. (Not my fave answer, but you never know).
Going by Ripples short story, Aaravos desires include making the other Startouch elves fall (Plus, the Mystery of Aaravos title includes falling stars). However, they're no longer on Xadia. If they're somewhere 'heavenly' (eyes Leola's Last Wish star suspiciously) and Aaravos is exiled and can't access it, then he'll need a Stars primal creature who can.
I can't think of a more powerful weapon then your own pet Stars archdragon, whoever he's got a beef with will be in deep doodoo. I don't think the Novablade is gonna cut it as a counter to a Stars archdragon.
Do you want to conquer Xadia? The dragon monarch is usually the most powerful archdragon at the time, a Stars archdragon would probably legitimately become Xadia's monarch using this standard.
And that about wraps it up. So, there are a lot of speculations and what ifs in this theory, but I think it ties a bunch of things together nicely.
I also like the way that Ezran/Zym bond would be parallelled by Aaravos/Viren if this theory turns out to be true. One bond being made of friendship and sincerity, the other out of trickery and dark magic. I can see these two bonds clashing and being very embodying of the show's theme. In Book 2 : Sky novel it's very obvious that the scene where Viren fights the guards channeling Aaravos' power, and the scene where Ezran helps teach Zym to fly when at the Moonstone path, are intended to be compared.
Pretty invested in seeing how much I got wrong or if I got anything right come Season 6.
Thanks for reading!

Just creating a clean notes of what's been said about S6E1 from various sources. I'm going to update it if I get more clarification on things.
Edit: Update from Geeked Week.
Episode shown was only 18 minutes long (Giehl said to have mentioned ~3 min scene at end was deliberately omitted) and lacked credits/end cards.
Aaravos is sobbing hard while staring at water with a galaxy reflected within. A Startouch, the Merciful One (they/them), comes up behind him and says "We are all of us stardust, held together for a moment by love."
Tumblr media
Camera pans out to show it's all galaxy around them.
Tumblr media
Screenshot thanks to @aaravosaa
Tumblr media
So, probably what's being referred to by the Sea of the Outcast statues.
Similar opening to S4&5, however Viren's statue crumbles to dust when Aaravos tries to pick him up.
Book Stars Chapter 1 Startouched
Soren blindfolds Opeli. She's ushered to a secret Council meeting.
Ezran gives a summary to a guard of what dragang got up to.
In Viren's secret dark magic lab Soren takes off Opeli's blindfold to reveal the Pearl prison on the stand Zym's egg used to be.
Opeli thinks keeping the Pearl is a bad idea. Soren calls them the fellowship of the Pearl. Callum, aware of Aaravos' ability to manipulate from within the Pearl, advocates to destroy it. Rayla counters that destroying it is too risky - it could just release Aaravos. Ezran's plan is to keep it protected and hidden away in Katolis.
Zym spots the (damaged?) painting of Zubeia and starts howl-crying.
Callum notices the Stars rune on the Key of Aaravos is glowing. He suggests the Celestial elves in the Starscraper may know how to safely destroy the Pearl.
(I think a scene cut to just Callum and Rayla after leaving meeting).
Callum suggests Rayla and him go to the Starscraper together so they can also free Moonfam from coins. Rayla is still not ok with the risk. Callum is still very afraid of getting possessed.
Scene cut - Callum's bedroom.
Callum gets up and starts sleepwalking, with one of the baitlings following him. He goes to the dark magic lab and grabs the Pearl. He finds himself inside Aaravos' study. He excitedly looks at the books, then curious about the chair which he sits in and sees the broken mirror, realising where he is.
Shot of Aaravos holding the Pearl while Callum is trapped inside. Aaravos throws the Pearl down and it smashes.
Then Callum wakes up, only to discover his hand on the Pearl. He is suitably freaked.
Scene cut - Rayla's room.
Callum bursts in calling for and waking up Rayla. Rayla attempts to defend herself with pillows before realising it's Callum and those are pillows rather than her butterfly blades.
Callum explains what just happened - Aaravos took me over, had the Pearl in my hand. Rayla points out it's late and he was dreaming, but Callum insists and Rayla says she believes him, but what can they do?
Callum says he has a idea and runs off with Rayla's blanket.
Stella complains and Rayla replies, he took our blanky, before collapsing back on the bed.
Callum visits Barius the baker. He requests Barius make something special and innovative to stop Aaravos.
(Not sure how scenes are cutting or locations for next few bits).
Zym is still sad about missing his mother. (Soren mentions wondering where his mother is). Soren tries to comfort Zym by howl-crying with him.
Callum tells Ezran that he has a new plan.
Callum sews spell blocking runes onto blanky.
Barius enters dark magic lab with a decoy Pearl. Rayla doesn't get what's going on. Then Callum swaps the Pearl for Barius' decoy and wraps the real prison in spell blocking blanky.
At dawn Rayla and Callum, with concealed Pearl, leave for the Starscraper.
Also, Soren leaves with Zym to search for Zubeia. (Riding Pyrrah?)
Scene skip - Terry and Claudia.
(Got confusing accounts of how this scene goes, hopefully I parsed it together. One person says Claudia slams Terry to the ground, but that doesn't seem to fit anywhere and there's no other mention of it).
Close up of sleeping Terry opening his eyes to see Claudia looking very corrupted, haggard and bloody. Claudia is using Sun staff as make shift crutch.
Tumblr media
Claudia goes on about how her mother and brother left her, and now her father's dead. So, to make sure Terry never leaves her - she then drives a staff end next to his head, scaring Terry- she's going to leave him instead.
Terry is devastated as Claudia limps away, calling out he loves her and would never leave.
He stumbles to the ground and calls out he'll be waiting here for her.
(There should be another scene, but it wasn't shown).

Okay so I came across this post by @herwrittenuniverse about Aaravos and Leola, so If you haven’t read it I encourage you to check it out. I think their theory makes so much sense, so this is kinda my own take on their theory.
🚨Spoilers for S6🚨
The first episode of season 6 starts with Aaravos crying. He then gets approached by another star touch elf, who is revealed to be the “merciful one” by Aaron a while back. They then tells Aaravos something about being connected by love or something like that. This scene takes place in the heavens, not in Xadia. As there are nothing but stars surrounding them. So, it a flashback pre dating Aaravos fall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What we know about Leola was that she was an unicorn and the only one besides Aaravos, who fought for the rights of humanity. She gave humanity primal stones, and learned them the language of ancient dragonic despite the dragons and elves not wanting her to.
What humans call to be the brightest star in the sky “the southern star”, the elves called it “Leola’s last wish”.
Tumblr media
What if something happened to Leola, and on the brink of death or whatever did happen to her, she made one last wish to the stars. She wished for someone who cares as much for humanity as she, someone who will continue to fight for humanity like she did, an child of her own… The stars, moved by Leola’s wish and her love, granted her wish. And from that wish, Aaravos was born.
This explains the whole “connected by love thing.” Aaravos is born from a wish made out of love, he is connected to Leola by love. In this image, the star Leola is holding here could this be Aaravos, the wish she made?
Tumblr media
I think the reason why Aaravos might be crying here is probably him learning about Leola’s fate, her plight to humanity, her wish and how he is connected to her.
Leola is also named after the mother of Aaravos’ va, so there is definitely a connection between Leola and Aaravos.
Tumblr media
I remember a couple years back, Aaron mentioned that everything Aaravos is doing; past, present and future stems from a relationship he had. I think that person could be Leola, and he is determined to continue were she left of. Making a bright and better future for humanity were they aren’t repressed.. I think Aaravos was the puppet master who pulled too hard on the strings for Leola, which causes him to be imprisoned. But I also believes he got imprisoned because of Xadia’s arrogance, and their own bias against humanity.
Tumblr media
Now that he is imprisoned, he’s very angry. We know from the two short stories “reflection” and “ripples”, Aaravos hates Xadia for their treatment and bias against humanity.
We have to remember, he also lived most of his life amongst humans. He watched his human friends die, their civilianzation getting destroyed, and how the human city Elarion got burned to the ground by Sol Regem that took the lives of so many humans. Everything that Leola loved and stood for.. He saw terrible things.
I believe when he gets out, he’s going to continue to fight for humanity in Leola’s name. And at the same time, having his revenge against Xadia for what they did to him.

"MERCY"
WHAT IS THIS ELF CALLED?
Tumblr media
THE MERCIFUL ONE.
AND WHAT WAS QUEEN ADITI CALLED?
Tumblr media
QUEEN ADITI, THE MERCIFUL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND WE KNOW AARAVOS IS INVOLVED WITH ADITI'S DISAPPEARANCE BECAUSE HE SWALLOWED HER - - -
Tumblr media
Either these are connected OR perhaps TDP just has the motif of 'mercy.' That's cool, too.

What's been mentioned for the Dragon Prince Season 6: Book Stars so far...
Having listened and read a bunch of interviews, here's my collected notes (Updated for October 2023);
No current release date, but confirmed 9 episodes, same as previous seasons.
Seasons Four though Seven are all the Mystery of Aaravos arc.
While there's not going to be any real time skip between S5 and S6, there will be a small one within S6. Update - there's a few days time skip between S5 and S6.
Season 6 will be more mature to the point the age rating is increasing. It will also go into deeper emotional stuff - "fans should enjoy the breather before being emotionally wrecked by the next book."
Episode 1 of season 6 was shown at NYCC 2023 panel. Notes on summaries people have posted here.
New characters to be introduced;
Astrid - voiced by Boone Williams - Female Celestial Skywing elf. She's mysterious and there's 'something cool' about her design. It been confirmed Callum, Rayla and Stella will be visiting the Starscaper where the Celestial elves live.
Character based off Moonberry Surprise.
A new Startouch elf. Possibly the Merciful One (they/them) from the Sea of the Castout statues.
Tumblr media
Upcoming for main characters;
Callum - every time you do dark magic, it becomes harder to come back from it. Info on Callum birth-father. (Callum and learning Moon Arcanum - Giehl's opinion is doesn't want Callum treading on Rayla's thematic territory and stealing her thunder). Rayllum note - how would Callum using dark magic affect the trust and friendship they've been building up?
Rayla - On the curse coins - too spoilery, so they won't answer questions related to that. On Rayllum note. Would Rayla do anything for Callum? And what would Callum call upon her to do if that was the case? Questions getting asked next season, just to make you suffer.
Callum, Rayla and Stella confirmed visiting the Starscraper.
Tumblr media
Ezran - sticking to his ideals and pacifism will be tested. Rough and tough decision(s).
At some point Ezran and Callum will visit some 'weird' ruins.
Soren - has had lighter seasons so far, but is about to face darker questions. There is trauma that the writers haven't told anyone about that will come to light at some point. Soren is getting an opportunity to confront Viren about what happened at the Storm Spire (they did meet up in S4E7, which is covered in the short story Strangers, but writers felt it lacked the satisfaction needed, as neither really was in the headspace to talk), but uncertain if this is just a therapy thing or if Viren lives.
There's going to be a funny Soren and Corvus story later on.
Claudia - S5 she was under a lot of pressure, and it's not easing up. How will Claudia be impacted by Viren's decision - further into darkness or pulled back into the light? Claudia being willing to risk life and limb for her goal(s) - and then actually paying the cost of a limb - what does that mean for her and Terry?
Karim - is about to get in over his head. He doesn't realise the kind of alliances he's making.
Amaya and Janai don't get enough love in these interviews. 😢
Zym - Goes with Soren to find Zubeia. Spoiler indicates Zym has a heart to heart with her
Characters we'll be seeing more of;
Aaravos - there's a lot more of him coming in S6.
Kim'dael - 'big plans' that even go beyond the show, though specifically refused to answer if she'll met Rayla again (they met first time in Bloodmoon Huntress graphic novel).
More with the pirates and Scumport (however, Finnegrin while not confirmed dead, won't make a reappearance in S6/7). Scumport set up a bunch of stuff for going into season 6.
Kpp'Ar - confirmed there'll be more stuff about him in both S6 and S7.
Mukho - the mushroom mage, Earthblood elf who's a world expert mycologist.
More shadowpaw content.
Possibly Ellis and Ava briefly, but could be S7.
Lore -
The lore about Stars primal and Startouch elves and other mythology will be explored. How you kill a Startouch elf will be answered - including more info on Laurelion (mentioned in the Death of an Immortal poem).
(Going by how the graphic novels releases are generally introducing things that are mentioned in the next season, Puzzle House's emphasize on unicorns, and how there is a big bit of unicorn lore mentioned in the novels, is a good hint that this unicorn lore is getting explained in show too. But, just to clarify, it's not confirmed this is happening - however, it is a impactful bit of backstory and there's only 2 seasons left).
Most likely information about how Primal Stones are made - specifically how a storm was trapped from the top of Mount Kalik to create the Primal Stone Callum smashed. Ehasz mentioned that something brought up in the second episode will be expanded on in S6, and the info about the Sky Primal Stone is the only info that hasn't been addressed elsewhere from E2 that I could pick out.
More lore about golems (as in the rock guardians and Elmer)
Other notes;
Season 6 will have an explosive start.
Questions raised by Ehasz;
Was the dragang moving Aaravos's prison smart or would it have been safer to have left it? It's something they'll grapple with right away.
Is Aaravos being honest with Viren about what's going to happen? (I'm wording it as being honest rather than saying is he lying, as Aaravos's thing is manipulative truths and misdirections etc, rather than outright lies).
No context: 🔥 (Can't help looking at the use of explosive start by the NYCC notification)
There's stuff in Season 2 that will get explained in Season 6 - while they're not exactly clues, there will be referencing from S2.
Keep an eye on changes in the openers - they're continuing the hints - like when they swapped out Viren with Callum to let you know Callum and dark magic/Aaravos is going to be in the episode.
Season 7 will be book Dark.
The next graphic novel will be about "family and building trust." Update: Title Dreamer's Nightmare
Tumblr media
Can young Ezran and Callum quell the brewing storm in the quiet town of Noct, or have bad dreams come to haunt for good?

Some notes on the out of context spoilers.
So we now know what these 3 spoilers relate to;
All these occur in S6E1;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, the remaining unknown spoilers are;
Tumblr media
Which I think means Zym and Soren do find Zubeia. Giant hat - could be something to do with mushroom mage Mukho or baitling Hat?
Tumblr media
Prelude to civil war?
Tumblr media
Hoping Elarion, but I'm not sure that'd count as 'weird'. However, according to Tales of Xadia, there's a bunch of ruins with the Stars symbol dotted about Xadia, so could be one of those.
Tumblr media
Coda is normally a music thing - the conclusion/ending. (Maybe Corvus ends up playing the cello again? Cause I'm not getting the impression S6 ends on a warm and funny note, given all the 'prepare for emotional devastation' hints given).

Note
I stayed for the whole QnA and the panelists confirmed that the final season will be named for Dark Magic. They also had to answer a 4 year old asking them when Zym’s dad will come back.
OMG. EHEHEHEE. I mean, we all kinda knew what the final season would be named, but WE GOT IT CONFIRMED!!! EEEEEEE!
Omg that's adorable. 🥺 But also so sad. Shhh no one tell them the truth. 😭 I am so curious how they phrased that. 👀
Thank you for keeping us updated! <3
