"Most of Sudan is only one step away from a full blown famine. In a lot of areas the only thing stopping people starving is the presence of community kitchens. This is why we setup 3 kitchens in Khartoum State and are in the process of setting up a 4th. But there has been a massive drop off in donations after Ramadan. Please help with what you can.

Iā€™ve told this story ten thousand times and I will tell it for the ten thousandth and first: whenever I think about wearing a costume to work on Halloween, I remember the time I saw a doctor breaking what must have been devastating news to a sobbing patient while the doc was dressed as a ketchup bottle.

LESS THAN THREE HOURS AGO: zionists were taunting a comrade at ucla's gaza solidarity encampment with a severe (possibly anaphylactic? with the context clues of "can go into shock" im leaning towards assuming it's anaphylactic) banana allergy by bringing bananas near the camp. i am genuinely of the belief that taunting someone with anaphylaxis like this should be considered attempted murder. this is fucking evil.

Reminder from someone with actual literal brain damage from a brain injury to stop fucking using "brain damage" and "brain injuries" as a means of describing someone whose opinions you don't like or deem as stupid.
It's ableist and offensive as fuck, and for some reason a lot of leftist people think it's okay to use. I've seen posts replying to right wing racists calling them "brain damaged if you believe this" and "do you have a brain injury? do you not understand X?". Just now I saw a beautiful post about fat people throughout history that was absolutely ruined by opening with "How do we break it to boomers with actual brain damage and nostalgic brainrot, and the 'tradwife' thirsting Andrew Tate fans..." before continuing to say that fat people existed throughout history.
Brain damage does not make you racist. A brain injury doesn't make you stupid, or fatphobic, or unaware of history and politics. Stop fucking using my disability as a catch all to describe people you think are shitty. Y'all use it like it's a replacement for how people used to use the R-slur, which shows you learned absolutely nothing about why the R-slur was wrong to use and decided to throw in other disabilities instead. Fuck off and stop doing it.
(And don't do it with other disabilities either, because I know y'all do.)
I know a lot of people with brain injuries. They're smart, and funny, and compassionate. They learn about the world and care about social issues and wish they could go to protests if their disability won't allow them to. Are there right wing people with brain injuries? Sure, absolutely. But they are not right wing because they have a brain injury, and using any disability as an insult is still fucking ableist.
Tldr - stop using brain damage and brain injury as an insult. It's ableist and incredibly offensive.
Love, your local brain injured/brain damaged pal

not to be controversial bc I know this is likeā€¦not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if thereā€™s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formattingā€¦I will also not be offended by having this pointed outā€¦
ā€˜looking forward to the next updateā€™ and ā€˜I hope you update soon!ā€™ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.
ā€˜I donā€™t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel somethingā€™ is also incredibly high praise. Iā€™m not going to get mad at this.
even ā€˜I love this fic but Iā€™m curious about why you made [x] choiceā€™ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.
I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment thatā€™s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner theyā€™re hoping to receive it in bad faith.
fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes itā€™s frustrating but it isnā€™t as though I canā€™t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.
idk where Iā€™m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me Iā€™m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

My absolute hottest take is that, from a culturally relative perspective, no food is bad. None of it. It's an expression of culture, art, history, ecology, material conditions, subjective taste. It's all inedible pap to somebody and the taste of childhood for someone else. Americans be eating cheesed burger. Pea wet is as good as gravy in Wigan. The French eat snails and the Inuit eat seal, the Germans eat sauerkraut and the Russians drink kvass, the Inca ate cavy and the Romans ate flamingo. People around the world have been eagerly awaiting their serving of simple bread or thin porridge or fermented milk product or pickled whatever-the-fuck since we learned to cook food over fire. We all love the slop we grew up eating. Food is a reflection of millennia of culture and loving human artistic expression. Attempting to extrapolate largely harmless online food banter into actual serious comparative rankings or half-baked critical analyses of cultures based on how much you subjectively don't like what they eat is a miserable way to live. Live a little. Peace and love on the only planet with food.

My name is Alia. . Palestinian woman in Gaza. Mother of 4 children. I need your support to get me, my children, my mother and my father out of stricken Gaza. Every donation, no matter how small, will help save our lives. If you can't donate, help me by posting the link. Thank you from the heart
So I've spoken to Alia here (yes I know, I was suspicious of this account too at first). After a series of texts exchanged in DMs and photo proof, I was able to verify this fundraiser as vetted!
They just started this fundraiser! Do not hesitate to donate!

URGENTā€¼ļøšŸ“¢: Global Strike Guide
If any links are broken let me know. Or pull up the current post to check whether it's fixed.
"Knowledge is Israel's worst enemy. Awareness is Israel's most hated and feared foe. That's why Israel bombs a university: it wants to kill openness and determination to refuse living under injustice and racism."
ā€” Dr. Refaat Alareer, (martyred Dec 6, 2023)
From River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free šŸ‡µšŸ‡øšŸ‡µšŸ‡øšŸ‡µšŸ‡ø
-----
Edit 1: took the first video down because turns out the animator is a terf and it links to her blog. Really sorry for any distress.
Edit 2: All recommended readings + Haymarket recommendations + essential decolonization texts have been uploaded to my linked gdrive. I will adding more periodically. Please do buy or check them out from the library if possible, but this post was made for and by poor and gatekept Global South bitches like me.
Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)
Edit 5: Google drive link for academic books folder has been fixed. Also have added a ton of resources to all the other folders so please check them out.
Edit 6: Added interactive maps, Jadaliya channel, and masterlists of donation links and protest support and of factsheets.
The twitter accounts I reposted as it was given to me and I just now realized it had too many Israeli voices and almost none of the Palestinians I'm following, so it's being edited. Check back for more. I also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.
Edit 7: Complete reformatting
Edit 8: Complete revamping of the social media section. It now reflects my own following list.
Edit 9: removed some more problematic people from the allies list. Remember that the 2SS is a grift that's used to normalize violence and occupation, kids. Supporting the one-state solution is lowest possible bar for allyship. It's "Free Palestine" not "Free half of Palestine and hope Israel doesn't go right back to killing them".
Edit 10: added The Palestine Directory + Al Jazeera documentary + Addameer. This "100 links per post" thing sucks.
Edit 11: more documentaries and films
Edit 12: reformatted reading list
Edit 13: had to remove @palipunk's masterlist to add another podcast. It's their pinned post and has more resources Palestinian culture and crafts if you want to check it out

a brief recap of what has been going on with the sonic movieverse in the past several months:
paramount has come out in public support of israel
a man who has publicly rubbed elbows with none other than benjamin netanyahu reportedly gets cast as shadow for the upcoming third movie
the guy who plays tom got exposed as having written a letter of support for a convicted pedophile
there's fucking??? zionist propaganda in the knuckles series???
kind of connected to the last point but the guy who plays wade is evidently pro-israel too
this is a complete and utter joke.

you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009ā€™s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this

until Armenia and Palestine are free & israel and azerbaijan are banned, there CANNOT be a good reason to engage with eurovision. tweet the social media teams, email the broadcasting corporations, make it KNOWN that you are not going to allow them to continue to platform both azerbaijan and israel. send complaints to ofcom, but give the actual contest & music NOTHING - don't hate watch/listen. don't stream the songs. don't even PIRATE it. give them NOTHING, but take EVERY OPPORTUNITY to address the fact that they're allowing genocidal fascists to participate.
BOYCOTT EUROVISION! and boycott the LOT of it!

Shelldon from RotTMNT!
He's quite big, around 19" from head to tail. The body is mostly stuffed with foam to keep the shapes flatter.

Wow wtf HIV/AIDS was discovered by Flossie Wong-Staal, an Chinese-American woman, and sheā€™s the reason the HIV test even exists. AND THEN she invented the molecular knife that lead to treatments for HIV/AIDS. And sheā€™s STILL ALIVE. We donā€™t hear about the contributions of Women of Color enough, my word. Madness.
