Massive fuck you to everyone who is talking about Palestinians as if we’re already all dead and sharing more solidarity with our corpses than us living. “We will never forget the beautiful Palestinian people-“ how about you stop “making peace” with Palestinian extermination. My people are not going to be forgotten because we are going to live. Palestinians have already survived one genocide and have been surviving one ever since.
Do not ever let the idea that all Palestinians are going to die exist in your mind. Mourn the dead, fight like hell for the living.

It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.
decolonizepalestine has tons of information on Palestine’s history/propaganda that has been spread throughout the years
UK citizens can email their MP asking for a ceasefire
US citizens can call/email their local government officials asking for a ceasefire
Jewish Voice for Peace also has many resources for ways for US citizens to get involved, including protests
Donate to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund
Donate to Medical Aid for Palestine
Donate to help get food and hygiene kits to Gaza

Whump recovery idea
A group of whumpees have been in captivity for years, somewhere underground. No sunlight, no sky, no trees, no nothing. It’s so far underground/so well insulated you can’t even hear it when there’s thunder.
After long enough they’ve started to forget it all. They know, objectively, that the sky is blue, the grass is green, clouds are fluffy when it’s sunny and grey and heavy when it rains, but they haven’t seen it in so damn long.
They’re finally rescued, but for various reasons (injury, exhaustion, dehydration, etc.) they’re unconscious/out of it when they’re rescued, and all wake up in a hospital, still no windows. They embark on a journey to find the outside, bonus points if they have to dodge whoever rescued them because they’ll try and take the whumpees back to bed, but they couldn’t care less about anything other than seeing the sky.
And they get out, after hijinks and confusion, and they sprint out the doors into a full on storm. Wind, rain, thunder, conditions that to anyone else would be completely unappealing
But they’re running out, hospital gowns and bandages soaked instantly, hair sticking to foreheads, but they’re laughing and jumping and dancing around because they made it. They’re outside, the sky is above them and the weather is around them and they’re safe.
And doctors/caretakers run out after them, trying to get them back to their beds, but they stop eachother at the door when they realize the whumpees aren’t scared and trying to run away.
They’re dancing and hugging and screaming up at the thunder and letting the rain wash away the hell of the last few years. So even though they’ll definitely catch colds, the caretakers let them stay for just another minute.

Adding onto this because I love it so much
Chetney who shows up because “you gotta keep limber in your old age” and absolutely rocks it
Imogen who joins every other week or so at first to give Laudna some support, but then realizes that it’s actually great for grounding and it’s nice to focus on her breathing and the movements and balance instead of the thoughts invading her mind
FCG who can’t do most of the movements, but came at first to see what all the fuss was about and stayed because the people there are just so interesting
Thinking about a modern AU featuring yoga instructor Orym and his friendship with local esoteric shop owner Fearne, an Ashton who is in Orym’s classes as a part of a pain management regiment they’re not thrilled about and Laudna who comes to classes to maintain flexibility (and enjoys them way more).
Among other things

Juniper.
Grog made sure to remember Juniper.
It didn’t come up very often when he was around Scanlan and Pike, but he remembered it with all of the duty of the hero he’d become by their sides.
He was there at their wedding, and he remembered Juniper.
He worked and worked until he could write in Common, and he remembered Juniper.
He traveled, and lived, and made a life of his own after Vecna, intersecting with Vox Machina now and then, and he remembered Juniper.
And when he stood sheepishly in the room, silent as he could be as a baby smaller than his finger slept swaddled in Pike’s arms, he smiled ear to ear. Scanlan had told him months ago that they would name the baby after his mother if she was a girl, and Grog had given an approving smile.
So now, he leaned in, careful not to hurt Pike or her newborn daughter, whispering “well nice to meet ya, Junie,” before being told her name.
Scanlan’s teary eyed smile was an instant good sign.
Because Grog remembered Juniper, he had ever since Scanlan left that day.
And there was a little bit of joy in the fact with the new baby around, everyone else would remember Juniper too.

I will never go back to it. But damn do I feel bad for just leaving it.
I often wonder what happened to authors of unfinished fanfictions.

I LOVE THIS
sorry but it would be just so funny if the solstice teleported Caleb and Beau right to Darktow and they just fell from the sky right on top of Kingsley while he was sitting on his throne--

It is fascinating how the Raven Queen’s vision was so different from the Dawnfather’s and the Changebringer’s. Yes, Ruidus is a threat to everyone, not just the gods, and it’s clear the gods don’t want to die and don’t want humanity to suffer a terrible fate. But whereas the Dawnfather’s message to Deanna was, “I returned you to life and granted you gifts, now you must aid me against this threat,” and the Changebringer’s message to FCG was, “something terrible threatens us all, walk my path and grant me your faith so we can defeat it,” the Raven Queen didn’t speak at all. Orym asked how the group could help and she didn’t speak on behalf of herself. She showed them what’s happening to Vax, her beloved champion, how he was stolen from her protection and trapped in endless suffering. She didn’t appeal to the greater good of the world. Her answer was, “Someone I love is suffering and I cannot reach him. Save him. Free him. Help me by helping him.” There is something beautifully, selfishly human in that.

I think the thing that drives me the most batshit about the medical fatphobia conversation is that the burden of proof feels so exactly backwards. Just from an obvious best practices standpoint???
Things like intentional malnourishment, intentionally incapacitating vital organs through surgery, denial of potentially lifesaving medical care until those things are done, etc.
Those are all pretty extreme. The kinds of things it feels like a “first do no harm” system should have a lot of solid evidence for before recommending or implementing them.
But they’re so bog standard and accepted and everyone from doctors to your own family will look at you like you’re a flat-earther when you suggest maybe we shouldn’t be defaulting to that.

RE: new episode CR thumbnail, consider this.....
I bet Will and Orym used to stand like that--Will at his back, Orym's hands over his on Orym's chest--all the time.
