Choices
I was honest when I said I didn't "need" you to stay, but I was also honest when I said I didn't "want" you to go either...
and away you went...

make bad art or you will always feel bad about your art. Make bad art until you find joy in the crooked lines and the off colours. Make bad art because art is about expression and artwork is never ugly because it was made by someone who has lived a life no one else will ever live. Make bad art and find love through ugly. Make bad art so you make art at all. Make bad art.

So a bit of a background before I update on my journey in Breath of the Wild. I am not very familiar with the Legend of Zelda franchise and the only game I have played before this one was the first half of Twilight Princess. I grew up obsessed with Zombie games and FPS but as life got busy I fell out of games and to make a long story short when I returned to gaming I found myself now a “cozy gamer”. There are many who consider Breath of the Wild to dance in the realm of cozy games and since fighting and questing was not a foreign field for me I decided ((many years late to the party as the game originally debuted in 2017)). My boyfriend encouraged me to give it a try on the Nintendo Switch. A console I didn’t give enough credit too when it first released even though I hungrily bought it but then watched it slowly collect dust as decor in my room while my PlayStation and computer received all the love and attention. Now it has forever captured my heart.
With all that being said my first impressions of the game are as follows. I agree with the masses who swoon over the beauty of the game as the art style is a mixture of Sunday morning comfort and lull me gently to sleep. I find comfort in the softly rubbed color pallet with the sudden bright hues of blue and orange from creatures like the jellies a nice surprise without over stimulating the eyes. The towns feel wholesome with the interactions kept short and sweet, a feature I am personally fond of.
So far the weapon selection feels absolutely foreign to me and oh does it show during my gameplay but I know with time the movements will smoothen and precise attacks will become easier.
Looking forward to uncovering more of the game as my journey with it continues!
I finally am giving Breath of the Wild a try!
From a zombie killer turned into cozy gamer this game is pretty fun! I am only roughly 6 hours into gameplay as I got lost in the beginning figuring out where to go and what to do but I have now made it to Hateno Village!
Any tips?

Night Woman
Far away lives a woman in a land. In a land of dancing shadows that glimmer just beyond surface walls. Where the silver path twists and breathes, glistening just under her feet. Have you seen the world made of mountains and mirrors? She looks like the night and moves with it too. Misunderstood and feared you have to brave a different kind of darkness to be here. There's a chill that hangs in the air, a comforting reminder that she is here.

Be Gentle
Please be gentle with me
for I have been strong for far too long
and I cannot bear to tug along this armor anymore
so please be gentle with me
and show me what true love really means

The fatigue from the day found her first, drowsiness overcoming her faster than her mind could register. The soft chirping of the robins above like a lullaby sang just for her while the cool breeze gently wiped sweat from her brow.
Only minutes could have past before she heard a stirring in the woods around her, they were here. She tensed inside the tree cursing herself silently for the low creaks it produced in return. Barks from approaching dogs echoed off neighboring trees and she could feel her stomach curling in on itself from fear. She didn't want to go back, she knew what punishments and exactly what life laid before her if she did.
Another creak followed by some snaps, too close for comfort.
She felt as if they were already upon her. The dirt around her shifted and she was sure someone had grabbed her when she heard shouting in the distance. If they were still over there then what was happening?! Her racing mind came to a crashing halt as the ground below her gave way. She was falling. 'This must have been how Alice felt..' she mused as darkness consumed her instantly. She hit tightly packed dirt with a thud and soon found herself sliding, despite being smoother than she would thought for an underground tunnel it did little to calm her worries. Someone or something would have had to have MADE this tunnel.
With a cloud of dirt around her and few nicks and soon to be bruises she came to a sliding halt. Coughing lightly to clear her lungs she peered into the darkness ahead as the dust settled, it seemed that there was dim light a few yards away, by means of a small torch perhaps. The path before her looked as if it went on forever but what other choice did she have?
Slowly standing and dusting off her dress as best as she could she pushed forward, using a spare ribbon from her dress to tie up her messy hair. Never before would she had considered bravery as one of her strong suits but today it seems she was learning all kinds of new things.
The air down here felt damp and heavy, a musty smell filled every crevice and tiny beads of sweat danced on her skin once more.
She curled into the tree’s hollow with a sigh.
They would come. They would find her. It would only be a matter of time until she was trapped back in that accursed tower.
