I've been hooked on Usavich recently thanks to a great friend, so here's a drawing about it!
It's a very niche but nice short series, so make sure to check it out!
Been working on some commissions as of recently. They went better than I expected, to be honest! Anyway, here's a doodle of Yoshi and the Ancient Dragon from Wonder for the Chinese new year/year of the Dragon!
I really couldn’t be more thankful for this incredibly thought out rendition of Ayako, Note did her justice! By the way, those are quite the charming colors. Thank you! 🙇♂️
So @dokotroopi basically opened fire on me and I am simply retaliating for the world to see.
Ayako! The colors on her are so fun to imagine with. Wanted to try making an outfit that fitted her cozy nature, and yeah, fun times and good lass!
I couldn’t miss the opportunity to draw @noatpad’s Kirby fan character, Zoru! Doesn’t he fit like a glove along the rest of the animal friends?
I’ve been wanting to draw this lil guy for a while now, honestly. Especially with the abilities’ designs, in this case, some of my favorites. Thank you once again!
Something other than Mario from me!? It’s more likely than you think!
Honestly, I just wanted to draw something different than usual, especially when it comes to shading. I haven’t done that in a long while… which is why it may look kinda rushed. I hope that’s OK.
Character sketch sheet for @mike-dobukai of Maphee, from an RPG game that doesn’t exist… just yet! This one’s from all the way back in June! It was a lot of fun drawing this character and I must say, I should draw more anthros. Thank you!
Check out his part of this art trade here (Newgrounds)!
What do you think of Ninji? To me he’s like Bandana Dee in the Mario Universe.
Alright, so first things first! Ninjis are simply so likable, just look at them! But what exactly are they? Yeah, we don’t really know, and that’s the fun of it!
They were first depicted as avian/imp creatures, but then turned into a more literal interpretation of the sprites, a marshmallow jumping… thing, in a ninja suit!
Personally, they’re comparable to characters like Mimitchi and Kirby (which is how I imagine Ninjis most of the time; the original GB Kirby as a ninja!). More after the cut!
Now, I can see how one might compare them to Waddle Dees (and Bandana, to an extent), given the simple design; stubby arms and feet, similar eyes and lack of mouth are what I’d link between the two, but I wouldn’t say they are equivalent.
You see, until sometime ago, Ninjis were restricted to a few games besides SMB2 like Paper Mario and Mario Party Advance, as either enemies or secondary characters.
Super Mario Run finally brought them to modern games, and Golf: Super Rush had Ninji as a playable character! On the other hand, Bandana Dee is a well established character and plays good part of the Kirby series and lore (I assume, maybe if I was more into it, goshdarn…), unlike Ninji. But who knows, someday that might change!
Whew, thank you for asking! And I’m so sorry for the giant text wa-
Oct. 5 update: Ninjis are in Super Mario Bros. Wonder! That’s cool!!
These two drawings were made back-to-back in June! I originally posted them separately, but here are both of them in all of their glory. And an extra Pommy:
