I didn't think the surgery would weaken me so much. But it was true. It's getting better every day, but the beginnings were difficult. I realized how enormous helplessness is when we are unable to do basic things, such as getting out of bed on our own. I faced very difficult emotions, but apparently I needed it because now I appreciate the present very much. I would like to thank my loved ones for all the help and care I have.
I'm starting to think about returning to my duties, but I still need some rest. Remember to take care of yourself. As much as you take care of your body and mental hygiene, your results will be very effective. That's why I'm just planning and mostly resting for now. I give myself time to regenerate.
Kisses,
Paola

A follower of mine asked me what are some realistic goals when you’re learning languages but before giving you 100 examples, i want to mention that you can have daily, weekly, monthly or/and yearly goals. The hard thing about being compulsively productive is coming to terms with the impossibility of being productive. In a few days I will be recovering from surgery, my brain can't cope with the thought of having to let go. Of course, I take language learning books and other hobbies with me, but that's just silencing my thoughts. During these few days before the surgery, I will try to learn to let go and give my body and brain a rest.

Spend time reading books you actually want to read instead of what someone online is recommending to you. Use products that actually compliment you instead of buying something just because it’s trending. Decorate your room with the colors you like instead of what’s popular on Pinterest. Do, be, dress, act, listen, watch, and live out who you actually are underneath all of the consumption. You don’t want to look back on your life and realize you were just trying to fit in the whole time. Figure out what you actually like and enjoy it.

I have to plan my days in more detail because sometimes I get lost. I have to specify exactly what I have to do, otherwise I don't know when to finish or I finish after the simplest form. Sometimes I avoid the most difficult tasks of the day, e.g. I postpone repairing the language change button on the website I am writing from one day to the next. I know I have to do it, but I avoid it like the plague. I am afraid of stopping at some point and not having the skills to solve this problem. It frustrates me, but at the same time I know that you learn the fastest with practice, so why do I avoid it so much? I need to ask myself questions like this more often.

My productivity has been very good since the new year. Together with my friends, we created an Excel spreadsheet in which we share information and fulfill our New Year's resolutions. We assign a "punishment" for each lack and symptom of laziness, e.g. buying someone a pizza. So far it's going great and I'm fulfilling my duties. But for the past 3 days I have been feeling worse, I have absolutely no desire to do anything. I'm just trying to get back together and planning for next week.

a piece of advice II
it's not so important how you look, it's more about how you feel, you have to start believing that you see yourself regardless of how you think you really look, it's just your perspective and you can change it.
having low self-esteem and not valuing yourself enough makes you perceive yourself as worse than you really are. you will see flaws in yourself that are insignificant or don't exist.
it is also important to take care of our physical appearance, but if you don't feel beautiful internally, no matter how many changes you make on the outside, you will never feel beautiful at all.
start feeling the way you think you would feel if you were that ideal version of you and change will happen.

The holidays made me tired and took all my energy and motivation out of me. Before I left, I had so much willingness to act. I hope I can put my head back together. For now, I'm still crocheting because it takes my mind off things. I made two napkins and gave them to my parents, now I'm planning a tablecloth that I'll keep for myself. It relaxes me and the repetition is a bit like meditation. However, I already feel that I am running away from reality too much. It's time to get back on track..

2024 is almost here. This is a promise to myself: I am NOT going to spend another year doing the same shit. My mental health and self development is way more important than any friendship/relationship. I want a lot, and I want to be able to achieve it all.

Christmas at home is always a difficult time for me. My parents are very intense and extroverted people, and living in another city has made me lost the habit of their pace. I have managed to achieve peace and slow down in my life, but when I return to my family home, everything is three times faster and three times louder. That's why this year I'm sitting in a rocking chair and crocheting, it gives me some sense of security.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Today is the day to make New Year's resolutions. I love doing this! Like every year, I think the next one will be even better. For now, that's what's happening. An upward trend. Today I'm also planning my tasks for this week, because I'm going home for the Xmas and I have work commitments. The sheet in the photo comes from printables from @emmastudies.
I also went back to crocheting. On the left is a piece of the napkin pattern I'm making.
And the best info of this post: I GOT THE DREAM TAMAGOTCHI WITH A COLOR DISPLAY FROM MY PARTNER! I've been dreaming about this since I found out that there are Tamagotchis with color displays, so for about… 11 years! I know, I'm a little bit too old for toys like this, but whatever. I love it - no matter how old I am !!!
