Rainbow ladies 2: Marci (A Warlock)

Drawing this was super difficult, for a couple of reasons: 1. Marci is apparently hard to draw for some random ass reason, and 2. orange is a color I find tricky to use/theme things around, given it very easily turns into a red, or a brown. This is honestly more browns and reds than orange themed....OTL

The OG Kouka one I made for this color came out better in regards to the color theme imo. However, this piece does fit better in the series style that the Red piece with Mariella set up for me though.

As for the BG pattern; it's a combination of the symbol of the group she used to work under the member of, and the moth like thing peeking from within them is the logo of her favorite in-world band, whose member she's even friends with. (the logo is also on her shirt)

(It's kind of symbolic of how her past job still kind of has a major effect on her even in her private life and shadows a lot of things in ways she's not exactly happy with.)

the moment when you uploaded the wrong version and had to delete and redo a reblog lol. Anyway as said, had to adjust her proportions as her shoulders were too wide for my liking. There's probs a lot more I'd wanna fix, but I'm trying to leave this be for now....

So apparently its a lesbian visibility week or smth, making this drawing kind of perfectly timed in a sense, given Mariella has a gf lol (I'm actually going to draw the said gf next as she fits with the color orange theme)

Finally had use for all the flower photos I've taken from mum's garden, as I decided to change the flowers she's holding from sunflowers in the original, to camellias and roses here to better work with the red theme.

She's naturally very valentine's themed huh, thanks to her nymph form being based on a tree with heart shaped leaves.

Looking at this, it kinda accidentally ended up more 'stylized' a lil bit, now when I think about it. (IE not my default style). Like it's more angular with thicker lineart, and she's not actually this wide shouldered lol.

Tho she might just be wearing padded shoulder blazer.

I wanted to draw today, but struggled a lot because I had too many ideas to choose from. In the end ended up doodling this Kouka portrait, and thought I could make like a drawing series, where each lady represents a color of the rainbow. Kouka is orange (she was kind of the only one who'd sorta kinda work for the color lol)

Also used this to show off her style outside the bathhouse uniform, and figured she'd have pretty business casual vibe. She would probs dress like this too for the Cyberpunk AU, hence the bg I chose.

Oh yeah, there's something I forgot to mention about this piece; its kind of a redraw of something I made years and years ago, just with totally different characters lol

The characters from the old piece kind of still exist, but they're very different now, AND no longer paired with each other either.

When your BF is enough of a big boi to make a good pillow

Hayden often dozes off like this when close proximity with Kuromoya, which does also lead to Hayden's Hex Spirit Yoruga plotting murder because he's protective over his human. (Okay not really, but he tends to keep an eye on Kuromoya 'just in case')

Kuro doesn't really mind that Yoruga does that, which often leads to a conversation of: "Wanna join?" "No, I'm watching you." "Alright, have fun."

Decided to show how Kuromoya's Hex tattoo appears when he's not using his powers. The eye-pattern is still on his shoulders, you just can't see them rn because his robe covers them. Also wasn't lazy this time around and did the BG city scene from scratch, instead of using the one I made earlier lol

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.

I am itching to start another drawing series, because it makes it easier to figure out what to draw. This time I want to draw bunch of my ladies in fabulous dresses while also taking their personal style into consideration. I'm also going to pair them up for the images based on their connection; if they're related, girlfriends, friends, or have something else in common. Miriam & Iris are friends and coworkers for example.

Figuring out Miriam's outfit was kinda tricky, given I just made this redesign for her and haven't drawn her since, so I wasn't entirely sure what her style would be yet. In the end I went with somewhat similar vibe to Iris, just with her favorite color (green) and some extra nature-themed accessories as I felt it fit her. (Her casual day-to-day wear has more bohemic vibe I think?)

BG is just abstract and has a photo-like frame, because I had no other ideas lol

Day 1 of Spooktober: A game of chess

Context: Ava's father is a dream-eater, so she has some nightmare-inducing abilities despite being primarily a mantis fairy. She and her dad often play chess together, but it also symbolic for their complicated and unusual relationship; she often works to foil her dad's plans in recruiting powerful beings into his group, whereas he's fully aware she's doing that, and they kind of see it as just another game of chess.

....IDK if the chess piece sizes are exactly correct for this perspective, but I tried lol

(her mother is not largely involved in all of this, due to some severe trauma that has confined her mostly to mental health treatment facilities, though they both visit her regularly)

FINALLY I was able to draw one of my lesbian couples; sure its not exactly a romantic one BUT it is a start! It feels like I'm always stuck in a situation where one or both need a redesign oof.

(The logo on Marci's shirt is the logo for her favorite rock band in-world, called the Showman's Lament.)

As for what's going on in the first image, likely someone asked Marci some help in regards to her former boss Kenzo, thinking of going to talk with him. Marci naturally thinks it's a bad idea; she respects her old boss and knows he does important work, BUT she does not trust that man one bit. She knows how shady and manipulative he can get.
