The Hargreeves siblings as TRENCH tracklist titles.
(but, this time with lyrics and some trashy edits)
Smithereens
For you, I’d go
Step to a dude much bigger than me
For you, I know
I would get messed up, weigh 153
For you
I would get beat to smithereens
Levitate
Oh, I know how to levitate up off my feet
And ever since the seventh grade I learned to fire-breathe
And though I feed on things that fell
You can learn to levitate with just a little help
Learn to levitate with just a little help
Chlorine
Lovin’ what I’m tastin’, woah
Venom on my tongue, dependent at times
Poisonous vibrations, woah
Help my body run
Cut My Lip
Rust around the rim, drink it anyway
I cut my lip
Isn’t what I want, blood is on my tongue
I cut my lip
I keep on goin’ back
Even though it’s me I abuse
I’ll keep on goin’ back
Even…
The Hype
Nice to know my kind will be on my side
I don’t believe the hype
And you know you’re a terrible sight
But you’ll be just fine
Just don’t believe the hype
Yeah, they might be talking behind your head
Your exterior world can step off instead
It might take some friends and a warmer shirt
But you don’t get thick skin without getting burnt
Pet Cheetah
I am on an island, no one to confide
Eight days straight, eight hours each and not one line
I can feel pressure start to possess my mind
So, I’ll take this beat I should delete to exercise
No, I move slow
I want to stop time
I’ll sit here ‘til I find the problem
No, I move slow
I want to stop time
I’ll sit here 'til I find the problem
My Blood
When everyone you thought you knew
Deserts your fight, I’ll go with you
You’re facin’ down a dark hall
I’ll grab my light
[…]
If there comes a day
People posted up at the end of your driveway
They’re callin’ for your head and they’re callin’ for your name
I’ll bomb down on 'em, I’m comin’ through
Did they know I was grown with you?
If they’re here to smoke, know I’ll go with you
Just keep it outside, keep it outside, yeah
Bandito
In City, I feel my spirit is contained
Like neon inside the glass, they form my brain
But I recently discovered it’s a heatless fire
Like nicknames they give themselves to uninspire
Begin with bullet, now add fire to the proof
But I’m still not sure if fear’s a rival or close relative to truth
Either way it helps to hear these words bounce off of you
The softest echo could be enough for me to make it through
Cut My Lip
Though I am bruised, face of contusions
Know I’ll keep movin’
Though I am bruised, face of contusions
Know I’ll keep movin’, know I’ll keep movin'
Leave The City
I’m tired of tending to this fire
I’ve used up all I’ve collected
I have singed my hands
It’s glowing, embers barely showing
Proof of life in the shadows
Dancing on my plans
I always see people talking about Diego’s “let him finish, he saved my life” line, but I wanted to talk about what happens after that.
Disclaimer: I have not read the comics. My analysis might not be canon, but here it goes.
So Klaus, after a bit of hesitation, gathers his courage and brings up Ben:
Luther is caught off guard, and he looks to be in disbelief.
Based on Klaus’ hesitation and Luther’s reaction, I’m guessing Klaus hasn’t told anyone that he sees Ben. Perhaps he was worried that telling them before would only give them one more reason to call him crazy. He’s never had solid proof before. His siblings usually just disregard whatever he says because they don’t see him as anything more than a druggie. But now that he’s been able to conjure Ben in a physical form, he finally feels like he can get them to listen, like he could be a part of the group, and like he could be useful to them.
Diego also looks caught off guard, but more so intrigued. He’s always seemed to have a little more faith in Klaus than the others. He looks as though the mention of Ben means a lot to him. Before Ben died, they were probably close. I believe in the theory that Ben and Klaus didn’t become close until after he died. They then had the chance to bond because Klaus was the only one he could still talk to. So after Ben and Diego were torn apart, they both found a stronger relationship with Klaus, who had only been left out and overlooked before.
Five has seen everything by now. Nothing really shocks him anymore. Having no room for doubt, and being the methodical mind that he is, he’s already embraced the idea of using Ben to their advantage.
Allison is the tough one here. At first, I really just thought she was being dismissive because of her intolerance and unwillingness to understand Klaus. However, I think the issue here is deeper. I’ll try to explain this the best I can. Allison is not actually reacting to Klaus’ “ridiculous” statement. All she can think about is Claire. She’s not even 100% mentally present at the bowling alley. She’s distracted. On top of that, she’s just had her voice and her only sister taken away despite her best efforts to mend their relationship. The theme here is loss. No matter how hard she fights, she keeps failing. She can’t have her daughter back, and she can’t have her voice back. So Klaus’ mention of Ben is pretty much the final blow. She’s tired of her losses being rubbed in her face, and hearing Ben’s name is one more reminder of something that’s slipped through her grasp. Irritation is not an uncommon response to feeling hurt, depressed, or helpless, and that’s what’s really behind this rude little head shake.
There aren’t many conclusions to be drawn from all this, but I thought that this scene carried a lot more weight if we just look past the surface.
[Tom holland and RDJ are such great actors, way to break fan’s heart with their touching reunion, their body languages and everything, especially the way Tony looks at Peter]
I am seeing more and more people starting to vent their Stark-related grief and anger onto Doctor Strange. And whilst I certainly empathise with the pain; we are all in various stages of grief I think, I will not have the blame put onto Strange.
He looked into over 14M futures - in that time meditation moment he was searching over many, many lifetimes - to find a way to win; for the best outcome to save the universe. And as the Russo’s stated the other day in a Chinese q&a; there was only one choice:
It’s quite clear from their brief exchange in Infinity War that Strange had come to know and respect Tony during that endless search, and moreover had witnessed endless failures and deaths on all sides. Including no doubt, his own.
Strange had to make a call in which the Universe is saved, and at the same time sacrifice Earth’s greatest defender in doing so. Whilst Tony’s death is beyond traumatic and tragic, it creates a terrible burden for Doctor Strange as well.
I personally would give anything for Tony to have retired with his family back into the woods. But his death meant he saved everyone. And maybe in that he found some sort of peace, some rest.
So please consider the above before attacking a hero - Doctor Strange - who had to make a terrible, scarring decision and who had to carry that burden alone.
