I love how Soren sees the dragon and is immediately like: 鉁笍friends鉁笍? Big puppy energy. Looks so innocent!! Well that didn't go well.
No-one looking for Soren? Yikes. Wow Rayla took you long enough lmao. Not like he didn't come home last night!
Whatcha doing? while Ezran's discovering he's the new spiderman.
Zubeia will not be pleased.
Finally some thought to the freaking anonymous elf!! Did i mention how much i am loving the accent? Because yes.
Lmao Raylaa
Tumblr media
What is this????
Tumblr media
Like ig there was a different light source and they changed it later but does no-one watch this like, I dunno, a thousand times before it's released??
My distracted ass had to go make these gifs mid episode because why not. And this was my first time making one so when i clicked the tick and it didn't appear as an option in my videos from gallery i tried again. And again. And again. Then realised i had four of them in the gallery. So yeah. That happened.
Anyway continuing my watch. Lmaoo not even 6 minutes. Oops...
Poor Bait getting knocked overr. And again why can Ez see through Zym's eyes? Will we ever know?
Amaya it is not just a fricking candlee. Like I love you but show some respect please. Okay that escalated quickly. Is there no way to like, give the elf some comfort or something that doesn't involve killing? Like yes i actually get why death would be an appropriate punishment cause in their eyes extinguishing that candle is prolly worse than killing someone cause if u kill they still get to the afterlife but. I think the focus should also be on the elf and doing sth for his benefit?
Um i guess earthblood elves don't know he's the dragon prince? Cause otherwise they have some serious trouble coming. Is Callum going to save the day? This blackout transition was a bit unusual. Looked fine but not really their style?
Are we getting some info on elven politics? Masked guys? This little smile thing between Karim and one of Six Horns... he did some bribing? Hope not cause this could turn ugly. It prolly will who am i lying to.
'Don't u remember who u are' felt a little forced to me. They often have those inspiring speeches that don't feel like they belong there. Why isn't Callum flying around looking for Zym? And why wasn't he their 'eyes' to begin with?
The kiddo is back again! Kinda didn't like that was all we saw of him so welcome back!
Karim u little shit. I don't yet know what he's planning but i feel it in my bones it ain't nothing good. Best case he just wants them gone from Xadia. Hopefully.
Why did that elf go after Rayla? Because they are so-called protectors? That little Bait smile lmaooo. Another gif incoming.
Tumblr media
I am a pro now.
Anyway.
Amaya on the side of the elves yes please. But i think she'll do the same Karim did with some kind of I dunno. Not clearing her of guilt completely but sth. Yess compassionate justice pleasee. I feel like they won't listen cause it'd be too good to be true but still. Prolly Karim bribing people won't help. Still not sure if he did.
This catching dragons really reminds me of HTTYD. This boy is the next Hiccup. N'than i love youuu.
Damn for a moment i really thought she'll cut her hands off. Ig that wouldn't really belong on screen but i thought the same for blood so...
this was so good!! I loved it! I actually cried Just hope Janai didn't undermine herself and look weak in the eyes of other elves. I feel like this was also more realistic so they didn't escalate things for no reason. Just show them all trying to get along. Sometimes successfully, other times less so. In love with how Janai said compassion
This entire scene was a masterpiece idc. How the architect broke down crying from relief and stress, the shrine idea, how the elf subtly accepted this as retribution, how it drove a divide between Karim and Janai, how logical the punishment was, it will be the greatest work of my life... just. Peak animation.
I knew it! The Pit of Despair, answer to all our prayers.
Will Karim and Janai fix things or will Karim not be understanding? Again a pretty scene, and Karim doesn't look hostile so far so yayy
I wanted to ask before but how long did Rayla and Soren actually knew each other? Cause i was under the impression that Rayla left practically at the end of se3 but Soren acted like they were kinda close earlier and now Rayla sounds really distressed?
Ohh Karimm lover boyy! Is he going to usurper her? Really?
Lmaoo Soren late to the party馃槀馃槀 omgg they're so cuteeee! 鉁笍friends鉁笍 for real now

I am backk. Didn't really have time these last days but here i am.
As much as I'm interested in the main plot and Aaravos' era incoming, i first need to know what happened in the camp after architect put out the fire.
Honestly such a beautiful funeral? Simple and tranquil.
Rayla u can't come back after two years and act like nothing happened! I mean i know she says how much things changed but she really hurt him.
Our boy is cryingg. Random but we haven't really got an answer on whether she was unbanished? Also I need to see some Ethari. Like now.
I really like that even tho Soren is a comic relief most of the time, they didn't make him dumb.
I kinda don't get why Viren got so desperate to practically beg that creature? Only excuse i can find is his fascination and obsession with magic. Otherwise they just did it for comic relief I'm sure is coming. I just feel it. Building it up and then an anticlimactic 'surprise'.
Yep. There it is. Viren just being tired of their shit is so funny to me. He didn't ask to be brought back. Can't he just go back to being dead in peace?
I really liked Soren-Zubeia bonding moment. So cute?? And she appreciates his wit!
Ahhhh what happened with the elf??? From the camp? The arhitect is hurt okay but. Aaaa. Imagine just. Being him. And believing that your mother's spirit/soul is lost forever. I want answers! Also Amaya-Gren moments are always so wholesome i love them.
Dunno why but it's surprising to see Zubeia as an active figure. I feel like those in power are often shown as these really passive figures. Idk.
Lmaoo I'm loving these guardians/doormen or whatever they are. 'We accept your argument.'
Their guide is really givin me gollum vibes from Hobbit. Viren's exasperation continues.
'Infuriate him and...' 'You'll probably die.'
Love how Soren connects with everyone he spends two minutes with. I have a hunch which may be completely wrong but that this hole is the entrance?
We're back to the camp! Yayyy! Where. Is. The. Elf. That's literally all I'm asking for.
Soren being observant about people's emotions? Yes. Giving advice? I feel sth anticlimatic coming again. His lecturing reminded me of Zuko's silver sandwich.
Aren't they trying to lay low? A campfire? Really?
O.M.G. yes. It's not always just love trouble (even tho it's that also). Another PTSD moment. Honestly when he said 'You know, when he took over my whole body and used me like a puppet,' sounded like he was talking to every screenwriter ever. One of those posts on here or insta or just anywhere ranting about how there are consequences and ptsd after stuff like this.
Wish it lasted longer tho.
I kinda hope this lil dragon adopts Soren. He deserves his own animal companion.(did u notice everyone has one? Like Rayla has that monkey-y thingy which i shamefully forgot the name of, Ezran has Zym and regretfully passed Bait to Callum which not okay you can have two animals and share love equally?)
Oh Soren is captureddd. Myb thrown into the hole/may-be-entrance-hunch-thingy?
Do these drangons have like rattlesnake tail horns/antlers?

First of all, i just realised Ibis's message reminds me very much of Kingsley's patronus in HP and the Deathly Hallows saying the ministry has fallen馃槀
Random but I don't really get why Ezran has a telephatic connection to Zym? Like okay he can talk to animals which includes Zym(which I too don't really know where it came from but ok) but does this connection add anything besides being an deus ex machina at the end of book 2? And then they couldn't just write it off so it just shows up randomly? Idk myb it leads somewhere and i hadn't gotten there yet.
Human-elf argument? Is it to show they aren't ready to truly accept one another? Where's this going?
Why does Ezran going with them solve anything? Like it's a gesture of good will but he can't really help them fight Viren. He can just die and then Katolis will be without a king. Myb just I dunno, send your High Mage with them? It's a gesture of good will and he can actually defend himself. And isn't an eleven y/o! Opeli get your head on straight!
I really like the cook but he comes in at most random moments? Like I think brown sludge tarts can wait my friend.
Oh so others are coming. Kinda makes sense.
Damn architect i get where ur coming from but have a heart! Why doesn't he take his mother's spirit flame out of the camp?
Love how much Callum cares about Bait. Even tho he's just endangering him.
Ohhh we're getting Aaravos backstory!!
Wait how long do elves live? Aditi is Janai's grandmother right? And this was hundreds of years ago. I love how they couldn't just talk about who'll ascend the throne. Do you even get that many benefits from it?
Young human girl? Looks like some ancestor of Katolis leaders. And was that before dark magic and banishment of humans? Cause otherwise why did she even know about this? The cube!! Thousand years??? Do all elves live this long or just Great Ones(who are they btw?)
What exactly was Aaravos's goal with causing all these crisises? Now ig it's getting free but what about before?
New transition i love: Aaravos still shown whispering when it switches to Claudia to show how he's manipulating her.
Omgg is this a Viren - Terry bonding moment is see in the near future??
Oh fuck off Viren. Just. Fuck off. Like I didn't think it would be all sweet and this but at least something? Get a grip?? Idk if u read my post for ep3 but i imagined Viren would myb find some new respect for Terry after learning what he did but no.
Shit shit shit stupid architect woman why would u do that!? I feel so bad for the elf i started crying馃槶 honestly his voice actor really convinced me of his anguish and it makes the whole scene(same with Janai when her sister died these actors are doing a fine job) did the whole bucket just turn to ash? Damn. Why doesn't it happen to humans tho? Bucket more flammable? I like that he immediately regrets burning her even if he was in the wrong, but honestly the animation doesn't sell it as much as the voice actor would i think. Why is there no gasp or sth?
Are they hinting Aaravos could turn his attention to Callum? I mean he'd certainly be interesting as a human who knows an arcanum.
Damn. I mean we knew Aaravos was powerful but a being from the heavens? Dragons combined couldn鈥檛 risk a confrontation?
Okay that scene talking about the magical prison has me more and more convinced that my far-fetched thought was right and the cube is the prison lmao. Like it looked like sth tiny? Idk.
They found Ibis's body! With blood mysteriously gone but ok. If we're being honest Zym should prolly be more attached to Ibis than Ez cause he spent way more time with him. But he wasn't a MC so tough luck. Where's Callum? Oh they're late. Idk why but in my mind Rayla was riding with Callum and Soren.
Viren's hesitating! I mean I get it if magic got me killed I wouldn't be so eager to pick it up again.
Dragons can do magic? Huh.
What the fuck is he doing to Callum? I mean possession was my first thought but. Couldn't he have done it before to anyone? I mean he prolly didn't want to reveal what he can do while still in prison before he was ready.
Damn for whatever reason I love him talking to Ezran. Ig it shows sth but i don't have the brains right now to figure out what.
Bait being moral support to Soren so cute!!
I love how he blew them a kiss and broke the mirror lmao. Drama queen.

Random thought i got while in bed trying my best to fall asleep but
Ezran abdicated? And there was supposedly a new royal line from Viren? And I know he was a crazy man on a doomsday crusade but. Wasn't it still legal? And now Ezran is just back like the throne is some game of hot potato lmao.
But. The single most important takeaway is. That would technically make Soren king. Legally. In this essay I will...

I kinda have a hard time believing Rayla just abandoned Callum for revenge. I feel like she'd try to show him why it's the right thing to do and I dunno. I felt like she had an arc of growing out of this 'I have to do everything by myself and won't rely on anyone'. But I guess people relapse. Progress isn't linear and all that.
Opeli is kinda late with her trying to move the whole ceremony lmao.
The whole ceremony when receiving the Dragon Queen felt a bit ... off? Idk how to explain it. But Callum growing wings never gets old. Looks totally sexy (but in a platonic way)
We're getting our first magical battle!(i think) like not just one powerful blow or sth
Corvus playing cello?? The thing you didn't know you needed(i just had a feeling he wouldn't want to draw attention to himself that way?) And it being the background to Claudia getting her judgement? So good.
When Ibis said he's not a killer but she must die it kinda reminded me if Aang's decision in ATLA. Not killing is prolly not as big a part of Ibis as it was of Aang, but I liked how he put the greater good above his morals. With Aang in the end I feel it was more about his morals than the actual person he had to kill. Like if he flew someone on Appa there and watched them do the deed it would be okay. As long as he didn't get his hands dirty. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the show and liked the ending but I also have lots of different thoughts about it.
Damn. Terry killing Ibis? And we actually see blood? Damn. I thought blood was an absolute no-no. The only time I remember it is when Viren needed it for the mirror thingy. And even then it didn't actually show the cut.
Ohh Terry breaks downn. He's too kindhearted for this shit. Wonder where this'll lead. I feel like he could do many bad things in the name of his love for Claudia but not enjoy them the way Claudia does. Like she smiled at the thought of killing Ibis! Honey no!? Also what will Viren's reaction be? Will we see how Claudia tells him Terry saved her and he'll accept him more? Like this trio could have such good dynamics tbh.
Ibis ain't dead! Gimme a sec. He'll probably still die just signal sth right?
...of course he did.

love that Claudia has a boyfriend getting on Viren's nerves like lmaooo
also there's a cloud of doom over that mountain and everyone's just like ehh it's fine?
why does everyone has shorter hair? Literally everyone.
That transition from Zym (not) eating his veggies to Claudia, Viren and Terry walking up the mountain and the veggies falling down? Creative. Love that.
That reminds me. I just feel like the end of every episode is just like weird? Just fades away. Anticlimatic.
Also love that they're actually talking about PTSD after a traumatic event with Viren!! Like the dude died! That has consequences on his mental health!
And Terry just being supportive of Claudia and caring about Viren because she does? Gimme that. Just a bit weird to me how he ignores the dark magic part. Like okay if he just looked away(methaphorically) but he uses it too? And isn't weird about it? What's up with that?
Love that Bait and Callum are closer, even tho that prolly means Ezran isn't as much anymore? Which not okay.
I'm writing this as I watch so myb at the end of the episode I'll already have a different opinion but. Viren showed a lot of potential to be redeemed imo. In all those flashbacks, he seemed like a misguided but genuinely good person. And he really loves Claudia. That DOES NOT in any way mean what he's doing and how he behaves is okay(it's clear how he sees Soren as someone lesser, and despite loving Claudia, he often uses and manipulates her) but I'm in the middle of that scene where he's thinking about just living those last 30 days and I have a feeling Claudia will not accept that and now the roles will reverse and she'll be the one who pulls him away from possible redemption because she can't lose him.
I WAS RIGHTT!!! I mean kinda obvious because Claudia is who she is but. Yk.
Idk if I've mentioned before but I love how much representation there is in TDP! Like LGBTQIA+ is not just one side couple to tick off a box but many important characters with meaningful roles in the story! Such a long way from not being able to give us one Korasami kiss(if u watched LOK - same creators but nickelodeon - u know what i mean). Also love Amaya being deaf and it not being her defining characteristic.
Rayla is backk!!! Yass!
So I forgot ending credits are actually great but I stop watching on those anti-climatic black ones lol.

Janaya is getting married already?!?! Where is the build-up?? I want to see them grow closer, all their milestones! Where did that go?? Like congrats gurls but we were robbed.
(Nice glow-up everyone btw. Well kinda have a love-hate relationship with some but you do you ig)

So I've watched the first three seasons of TDP a while ago, randomly decided it needed a rewatch, somehow realised it got two additional seasons while i wasn't looking and now I need a place to vent my random thoughts.
I watched around a season a day and i just have to watch the se3 finale tomorrow and I'll catch up with what I've seen so far. When I see the 4th and 5th seasons I'll probably going to start spewing a lot of random shit so beware.
First of all. FIRST EPISODE AND CLAUDIA IS READING LOVE AMONGST THE DRAGONS?!
Second. I shipped Amaya and Janai hard the first time around already but this is so good. Like Janai's sister dying? Prolly my favourite scene so far. (Btw I'm spoiler free for seasons 4 and 5 except i googled ship name for them and saw a picture of them kissing so i know that's canon. Would honestly feel cheated and insulted if it wasn't.) Also the translator is such a cinnamon roll.
There are sooo many lovable characters in this series. I love Amaya and Soren most I think but everyone has such good arcs!!
Like Claudia being manipuated by Viren? I really like how her corruption comes from her love for Viren. I also loved how Soren is seen as the slower one out of them but she's more naive when it comes to their father.
The scene where Soren leaves her and she says "Don鈥檛 make me choose! Not again."? Right in the feels man.
Also sending my love to Bait! The guy deserves some love! I felt really bad for him during that scene on the ship when he felt like he was replaced by Zym and then when Callum invited him to come and he was so happy?? Like my heart? And then he basically goes and becomes a parental figure to Zym.
Oh that reminds me. What was the captain's name? I can't remember but i recognised it in those texts in the beginning when important people who work on the series are written so. Fun.
Also Gren is so random but I hope we'll see more of him. Loved his friendship with Amaya even if it had like two minutes of screentime.
I'm trying to think of everything that went through my head during the watching. Um.
Oh! Aaravos (is that correct?) What's up with that dude? And I didn't go back to check but in Harrow's letter to Callum he said that cube is a key sth connected to Aavaros and that he's a powerful mage and knows all six arcanums? So I'm wondering where that'll go. But he'll prolly be the final villain instead of Viren? We'll see ig. And a stupid thought but i just imagined him being somehow stuck in the cube? And my brain automatically got the idea that to open it all six sides must be activated(glowing) at the same time? I dunno what my brain is on atm but this exists in my head now.
And what happened with Ezran's abdication? Like why did he do it? What did anyone gain from that? Were the others supposed to leave them alone just because he did it? Dunno.
Also Aanya is so cool. Really love how she has a brain you know?
Also who was the guy who first deserted when the option was offered? Cause I know we saw him before but idk where. Wait he's not the guy Rayla spared is he? That would make some sense but i know we see the guy who deserts at least once in the throne room? I'm confused.
Also all kings and queens are dead so who's leading all the other armies beside Kasef(is it Kasef?)? Why don't we meet them?
Also Corvus is great and I love how he just goes along with everything Ezran does. You're a weird king Ezran.
This is so random but how was that vet supposed to know how fast an unhatched dragon's heartbeat is supposed to be? Just seemed funny to me.
Also i think the first time around i didn't like Soren in the beginning but now i loved him from the first scene when he helps Callum show off in front of Claudia.
I'll be back in the morning but right now I'll have to finish this rant cause i went to bed like two hours ago and couldn't sleep so this happened lmao.
