Let the Rain Fall
Tumblr media
Let the rain fall down and shatter my dreams.
Let it wash away secrets and sights never seen.
Let me watch a new day break from the mountain up high.
Torn but not broken, caressing the sky.

I scattered the pages of my notebook by the windowsill.
The letters evaporated in the wind.

The Ghost
Tumblr media
Like a ghost you float above my skin.
Words that are lost still hidden on my lips.
Simmering above dried-out streams.
Searching for home, a place to breathe.

The Child I Used to Be
Tumblr media
Over my shoulder, I see the child I used to be.
She is trotting along, kicking stones by her feet.
Eyes wide with wonder, arms dangling free.
Lips red of strawberries, scrapes on her knees.
Should I tell her about the speed of the tide?
How the waves will erode her castle of sand?
I turn abound to start but stop in my stride.
Closing my mouth, I step away with a smile.

They Tell My Girl
Tumblr media
They tell my girl; "Be quiet, you're too loud."
I say to her; "Scream at the top of your lungs."
Use your voice, you have the right to be heard.
Say what you want to say without being deterred.
You're brilliant, your mind shines so bright.
You've got to be you, vivacious and alive.
A whole linage of women is standing behind you proud.
Don't let anybody tell you to quiet down.

Love in the Dark
In the dark, our love is safe and sound.
Words whispered at night that bursts like raindrops in light.
Could our love live outside of the shadows that linger?
Creeping out of the corners, face blushing with springtime.
Would you stand beside me if I stood by you?
Grasping eachother's hands in a summer hue.
Blinded by the sun, dazed and confused.

Bound to the moon, a goodess walks through dust with grace.
Her raven hair floating in star-studded space.
She was exiled from earth, where her true love once lived.
For taking an elexir that was meant for him.
Eternally she lives in her prison of gold.
Watching centuries come and go.
She grieves the life she cannot have.
Side by side with her love in another realm.

Entrapped Heartbeat
Why does my heartbeat,
entrapped in vines befallen
follow your steps as you walk
in lands forgotten?
Whispering memories lost in the sand.
Stroking your cheek with the wind's gentle hand.
Praying for your safe return.
Searching for your voice in deserted realms.

The Source
All the hurt between us I can't break through.
Whispers of a song that silenced long ago.
I reach for you but you pull away.
Words caught in my throat, to hard to say.
I wish I'd find a way across the forest of dark.
Cut down bushes of torn and reach for your heart.
But I can't stop the bleeding, I don't know the source.
We are lost in a maze, my hand tracing yours.

The Village of My Childhood
In the village of my childhood, there was a hill I used to climb.
My footprints are still engraved in the sand.
The soil took my tears of injustices faced
and buried them with care in the sand by the lake.
The stones echoed of secrets shared
as I walked by my confidant and spoke softly in his ear.
My back was bending from the weight of my books.
But still I kept climbing further up.
The wind whispered all I was trying to be.
My eternal wish of breaking free.
It carried the scent of the seagulls screams
from the village where the rock met the sea.
I wondered what would become of me
the daughter of the blue sky and ocean free.

What it Meant to Love
Tumblr media
Surrounded by light, you sent me away.
I was heartbroken that you couldn't stay.
But I'll always carry the strenght you gave to me.
You lifted me up so I could breathe.
And showed me what it meant to love.
I'll remember everytime a star crosses the sky.

Web of Words
Your web of words tied me to you.
Weaving threads so thick I couldn't break through.
Like tiny daggers that circled my arms,
continued round the side and bound my heart.
Whispering sweet nothings in my ear
when all I wanted was to see you clear.
Cause what are promises spilled in the sand?
I'm bound to sail the oceans with no sight of land.

The Wind is a Song
Tumblr media
The wind is a song that carries whispers through.
She speaks of time gone and moments anew.
Travelling through landscapes and desert storms.
Carrying echoes of days forlorn.
Softly she brushes against my cheek.
Ruffeling my dress as I stand on the beach.
My feet making prints in the sand, soon to be washed away by her hand.
She knows all that passed and what will be.
She can wipe away my tears, but also slay a tree.
Leaving a scent from other lands.
Laying memories in my palms.

Moonlit Pathways
Tumblr media
Into destiny I travel with open arms.
I am no longer afraid of unknown paths.
Let my being come alive with hidden dreams.
And continue forward through landscapes never seen.
Let stardust sprinkle down and lead my way.
And moonbeams shine through me when my faith is swayed.

The Ballad of the Roses
Tumblr media
The scented roses gathered at the touch of my hand.
They filled up my nose with dreams lost in the sand.
So soft it was, like silk to my cheek.
As I let my finger travel across the leaf.
They shifted in twilight with colours of red as they rested on the branches in the evenings bed.
The birdsong travelled gently through the breeze.
As I sat on the bench by the sycamore tree.
I closed my eyes and felt an ache for that perfect flower with dew on its blades.

Raise your voice
Tumblr media
Step out of the shadows,
the world needs your voice.
Speak up and cut through all the noise.
Carve out your space, I want to hear
the whispers you left hanging in my ear.
The stage is ready, the microphone's raised.
The lamp is shining in your face.
Step out into the spotlight, take a deep breath.
Your audience is waiting. What have you got to say?

The Fallen Angel
Tumblr media
A fallen angel came out at night.
With wings of black, cradeling her body tight.
By the shore, she watched the starlight's display.
With eyes swollen by tears and long hair in dissaray.
She had been exiled from the heavens above.
For embracing love that was deamed not right.
A mortal man, with veins alive with crimson hue.
His passion so strong that he broke down all she thought she knew
She kissed him back under the palmtree's scent.
Letting his hands touch her wings with no repent.
Our angel risked it all, and was sent away.
With her feathers undone and feet full of clay.
Doomed to walk the lands alone.
In the kingdom hidden far beneath the throne.
