Get yourself a girlfriend who looks at you like Rayla looks at Soren after he woke her up with his stinky feet.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry but there's being happy your friend is alive and then there's THIS face. Rayla is fawning over him like he's the most beautiful thing she's ever seen.

11: Last but not least. Ezran gets a sister.
Can you do Corvus x Opeli headcannons? (I'm sorry if you aren't taking request at the moment)
Sure.
I'm happy to do so.
1: when opeli, corvus and the baker traveled to Duren, they made to stop to rest and recharge. Opeli haven't been out camping like this since she was a child, so she struggled to fall a sleep. Corvus helped her out though by offering her to sleep next to him. Opeli surprisingly falls asleep fast next to corvus. Head resting on his shoulder. Lujanne ships them.
2: in Duren, corvus is the one struggling sleeping. He's not used to soft beds. So he goes to opeli's room to see what's she's up to. Opeli doesn't sleep, she is making plans to get to xadia. Corvus interrupt, and this is the first time he sees opeli without her hood on. This might be when he realizes he likes likes opeli. Corvus falls sleep much easier now.... In his own bed 😅
3: I have this small headcanon that after the final battle, they all had some sort of party, with music and dancing. Corvus invites opeli to dance with him. They dance and at the end of the party, opeli gives corvus a quick kiss on the cheek. They now also share the same tent.
4: between opeli and corvus, corvus is the one who can cook.
5: after the final battle, corvus stays in Katolis, sense Amaya stays in Katolis and there isn't much work outside Katolis for him. He spends his time well however. Helping opeli out, because her work have doubled (mostly because she insisted on doing more tasks than the other council members)
6: opeli and corvus relationship started up great, but with all the work opeli do, their relationship is put on hold. Corvus ask Gren for advice. Gren comforting corvus telling him to just trust opeli will come around. In the mean time opeli have noticed corvus distant himself, so she have worked up a surprise date for the two of them. (may or may not end up in more than kisses if you know what I mean 😉)
7: opeli and corvus will have a huge argument about whether or not they will get married the traditional way or a more simpler way. Opeli wants it to be done correctly after Katolien tradition while corvus just want a small simple one. Without anyone else but them. I think they will reach a compromise with some help from Gren.
8: corvus and opeli adopts ezran (together with Amaya and Janai) and no, you can't change my mind 🙃
9: opeli is the one wearing pants in the relationship. She tends to be a little bit more bossy than corvus.
10: I would think they are a couple who tends to argue a lot, because they have a lot of strong opinions and ideas. But in the end, they always love each other.

Wonderful observation!
There are so many biblical references this season! I can't possibly name them all. I have not seen Viren being compared to Abraham yet! I love this addition!
Soren & Rayla: Sacrifice
Throughout the series, Soren and Rayla have had many parallels and links that have culminated over time. Most of them are subtle, and I think that’s why it took until my second watch of season 3 to realize their biggest link yet. They both faced their biggest obstacles yet.
Soren was unable to push past his blind loyalty to his family.
Rayla has never killed before.
This season changes this- changes them in the same way. However, in doing so, they sacrifice their strongest links to themselves and what has defined them.
Soren found strength in his family, and his journey has been to realize that he needs to do what is right by doing it himself. Therefore, he leaves his family. Him leaving his father while drunk on his power, mirrored Zuko leaving Ozai on the Day Black Sun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, that scene felt incomplete, and it was meant to because he did not truly face his demons yet. He took a big step, yes, but he did face his father head-on… yet…
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Rayla has relied on her family, but they left her in some shape or form. Ethari and her village were all she had left from her old life. However, even Ethari, the last piece of her family she was sure of, also pushed her out. Thankfully he did give her a chance to explain herself. However, that did not end her curse/banishment. It kind of mirrored Zuko and his banishment for a total unjustified reason. Ethari acted like Uncle Iroh as being the only one who believed in her after her explanation. However, he could not go with her or lift the spell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene also felt incomplete. Something was missing. We are re-introduced to the fact that she has never killed anyone before. However, more importantly, her village also expected her to fail, and when she was the only one left alive, they turned her into a ghost.
Tumblr media
We then see Rayla talking about her parents again in the dragon nest, and we then find out what really happened. They did not run. Her parents stayed and fought. They protected the egg. But Viren was the reason for all of it. Viren took Rayla’s parents from her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of these scenes build-up to the resolution. Because these scenes expose what’s holding her back, and leads up to the resolution.
Facing demons (Resolution):
Soren and Rayla face their deepest fears and come to a moment they both have to decide what person they are going to be. The outcome is the same.
They both kill Viren.
Two sides of the same sword:
On the surface: We see this situation as black and white. Soren Kills his father to protect Ezran and the hope for the human world. He kills him to do what is right. In doing so he loses his foundation, what’s made him who he is. However, what he gains is peace. Peace in knowing who he is. No matter how much it hurts. We see how awful he feels, but he also knows he had no choice.
The Reason: Killing Viren also means losing his family, his sister. Claudia was there for him from the beginning. She even saved him from a lifetime of paralysis. However, he had to. Not just for peace, but himself. To do the right thing, and to become the person he wants to be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the surface: Rayla faces her moment of truth when she sees Zym being turned into dark magic and makes the decisions to take out Viren, even if it means killing herself to do it. She sacrifices herself because she needs to save peace. Zym is the hope for Xadia as Ezran is the hope for the Humans. Rayla kills Viren for the greater good.
However, there is more to this scene than just good vs. evil.
The Reason: Ethari and the village turned her into a ghost because they didn’t believe she could go through with the mission and kill. Her parents were taken from her by Viren. At this moment, she both redeems herself to the village and avenges her parents. Thus, her entire character arc comes together at this very moment, and this decision is what she knows will define her for history to see. She sacrifices her own life to protect the lives of the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neither of these decisions is selfish. They both fight for the greater good and in the process, face their demons as well. Heart over duty. Duty over heart. Soren sacrifices his heart for his duty to peace, Rayla does the same.
Of course, we know Viren didn’t die in either scene, but they both believed they did, and they faced their demons all the same. Both Soren and Rayla killed Viren because he was their Demons. Viren took Rayla’s parents away from her. Viren took all hope and love away from Soren.
