Me using humor to disguise the fact that I am telling them how to do it correctly because customers can get so defensive if I point out they don’t know how to use their card’s new tap feature, and I kinda have to say something because they will get frustrated and start jousting at the reader with their card, and we just got new card-readers that actually work and I am not about to let someone break my brand-new easy-to-use card-reader just because they don’t want to admit that they have no idea how it works and need to be helped at least once to figure it out: “It’s more of a sit that a tap, haha.”

#my autism gets overly attached to tools. especially ones that are overlooked or damaged or need maitenece.#I maybe accidentally named one of our broken shopping carts Hamburger (cos hes smashed but he’s still okay-ish) and it’s #still referred to as Hamburger and when it goes missing people say ‘who fucking took hamburger again.’#one time I found hamburger way in the very back of the warehouse (not with the Too Broken To Use carts; it was just left in the back with #some stuff in it someone forgot to put up) so on my lunch break I went and put up the stuff and then wheeled ol Hamburger all the #way to the back room where I kept it. I did use it! there’s always one or two shopping carts back there for moving product around. I just #had a peculiar one that I befriended and perhaps there was a time when my mental capacity to not quit was indeed held together only by Hamb #Hamburger’s rusty and squashed frame.#ANYWAYS. I love my card readers 🥺 I love the broken ones and the new ones.#the new ones have a very fatal flaw: older cards are a little thicker so they need a tiiiiny extra nudge to fully insert. and oh my god.#I have to walk on eggshells to explain that. because if i don’t explain they will decide to shove the card like they think it’s a carnival #game of ‘how hard can you push this? are you strong enough to win the stuffed cat for your girlfriend?’#so far it works if I just…very…slowly…hover my hand over to their card…and very lightly nudge it. and then I make SURE to say.#‘I appreciate you being gentle with it #it’s new and actually works really well compared to our old ones and I don’t want someone to break it pushing too hard; so thank you.’#and I’m so sympathetic to the card reader 😭 like DAMN. I couldn’t read your card either if you slapped it against my eyeball for half a sec #like it needs a moment to scan. like an eyeball. just set it in range and it will beep when it’s finished. it’ll take a full second or maybe #even two or three. but it’s going to take even longer if you start whacking your card on it and then give up and put the chip in and then it #has to show the errror message and then reset and then try to scan the chip and hopefully you found some patience for that otherwise you #took your card out already and are now staring at me like I’m an irresponsible Card Reader Handlef #for not properly training my equipment to work.#sorrrrrry for rambling!!!#sorenhoots #wait this is my post. not sorries.

I went to a local yarn store for the first time, and while I was there, somebody was talking about getting a beginner's knitting kit, and she inquired about when lessons were, and when she was told that they'd be happy to sit down with her and teach her, she was so delighted. She talked about how excited she was and how much she wanted to learn to knit, and it just... it made me fall in love with humanity. It was this pure, unadulterated happiness coming from somebody and it was so genuine and kind, and I couldn't help but smile.

I guess all of this is to say... every moment, there are tiny little joys like this all over the world, and it makes this life worth living. I hope you witness and feel joy this simple, this pure.

Sometimes I see posts about how "I, Strahd" Tatyana has the personality of a cardboard but I don't think I agree honestly.

We only see her in very few scenes (all from Strahd's POV) and she's always very gentle and soft spoken.

Which makes completely sense since she was a lowborn orphan trying to make a good impression on her future brother in law, who is not only the ruler of the valley but also a feared war criminal. Of course she would try to be as nice as possible in front of him.

I also think that Strahd was extremely genuine in thinking he was in love with Tatyana, it's just that he never really knew her the way Sergei did. He only knew a facet.

#she went customer service mode #Strahd mentions that in the months she stays at Ravenloft he finds new reasons to fall in love with her day after day #so even if his attraction to her was absolutely superficial at first I do think he really liked her going on #he's so difficult to please I think he would have just tried to fish for other reasons to dislike her if his attraction wasn't genuine #especially because he really wanted to hate her before meeting her #also being just kind and gentle is a completely valid personality honestly #I don't think she's any less interesting or well rounded just because we're mainly shown that side of her #plus I say she's soft spoken but she also curses the gods when Sergei dies and immediately thinks of looking for Lady Ilona to bring himbac #so we could say she's also resolute and very quick thinking #also I was thinking of Tatyana as a general concept at first but then I remembered they completely changed her in 5e #so her dyamic with Strahd is obviously different cause they also knew eachother before Sergei arrived #because god fucking forbid 5e Strahd to fall in love with a peasant I guess #in the beautiful world in my mind I often forget I Strahd isn't the 5e canon oof #this post was brought to you by the Taty Appreciators Gang #not art #curse of strahd #strahd von zarovich #ravenloft

Shinsou had a crush on you since like, young kids days and never thought you noticed him, but that was good cause maybe you thought he was a weird kid, so once he beefed up and finally got the confidence to talk to you it gets shut right tf back down when you're like "Of course i remember you!"

I don't know which part is worse............................ Shinso being so absorbed in his own supposed loser-hood in his youth that he essentially ignored you for 5-10 years while he was working out his self esteem issues ... or the fact that you not only DO remember him, berry well at that, but don't really think anything of it because you thought HE was kinda... a jerk for never being nice to you back.

(Cuz on one hand, you're so sweet, smiling at him when he approaches you, genuinely, just like you did back when you were both under ten and you'd smile at him from the other side of the park... but on the other hand, you don't hesitate to turn right back to your own friends after he barely manages to answer your "how have you been" question and you give him pity eyes like you still think he's a shy headass.

It's just... he doesn't want to fuck it up a second time and lose his momentum... but all the confidence he put into the moment deflated the second he realized you were even more beautiful and more kind than he remembered you and it got him tripping over his words)

ANYWAY then there's another 2-4 months of him trying to get your number just to be a fool over text before even managing to convince you he's worth a fucking damn LOL.

(And he is worth a damn, so much more than a damn because he's willing to give anything and everything up for you but... doesn't know how to say it in a way that wouldn't scare you off for good...

Not to mention he's so fucking bad at texting. Yes, his dry humor is funny as hell but he's not trying to be funny with you, he's trying to WOO you and so the whole thing is just him making excuses to reach out to you even tho texting first for him is like plucking ass hair.)

also me: full time student (worth noting i wrote stupid here at first without realizing), 20-30 hours in customer service every week, teaching myself 3/4 classes, teaching myself advanced algebra with a teacher (basically just a proctor) who shuts down any/all asks for help, juggling college financial woes, navigating dying relationships/people abandoning and/or attacking me bc i don't have time for things i used to anymore, none of my hobbies are making me happy when and if i have time for them,, i have no time for myself, i'm on my second all-nighter this week, i'm perpetually exhausted in a way sleep isn't fixing, my body aches because i'm so tired, and i'm barely able to stay asleep when i do get the chance bc the anxiety wakes me up

my hairline: two hops this time!

#i'm so stressed man #sehtoast rambles #sehtoast vents? fuck if i know #i just feel like i can't get ahead #i used to be able to get all my shit done by friday and have the bulk of the weekend to myself #but that's not doable at all this term #i just had a whole ass mental breakdown over fucking homework #like i'm almost grateful T made it near impossible for me to cry bc like #i was going to have a whole sobbing crying breakdown and at least i only had to feel the mental and physical anguish of it instead #it's 3am and i just made coffee so i can do the rest of my work #luckily the last two are super little in comparison but #i can't keep doing 30 pages of notes with 10 pages of homework and a 40 question 'quiz' for math #on top of making like 7 excel spreadsheets a week #not including the 50 page readings for management plus the 50 questions that follow and the writing assignments #i'm so glad my ids class is easy. dr s is my personal jesus christ for being so gentle with her students #idk i'm just... really not doin well rn #at all #idk if anyone read this far in #if you did ily and appreciate you

yeah this is unbelievable to me. what do you mean you knew them without following me already to see my rambles about my own themes... I always feel like people can only find me from the comic itself, or find the comic because they saw my art... Can't imagine people knowing the comic and then finding me for some other reason

Also they will be using canes and I've been exploring it is why I drew them with canes, and then my comic writer friends were asking me for tips about canes so I made the guide and decided to share in case it could help someone else! I'm very shocked it got so big haha

I don't wanna be rude or anything! I just wanted to ask if your still updating LB on ao3 cuz it's only on chapter 24? Also this is just something I wanted to know... In the future when Lotor rules the empire, would he allow Keith to barge in during meetings? Cuz I can just see him going into a meeting with a care in the world and sitting in with lotor😂

So it seems that it is, once again, that time of the year where I must nudge the newbies in the direction of my FAQ:

Forever the idealist, I aim to post one chapter every other month, but that… hasn’t worked out so well for me as of late. While I know that if I have a really good time full of non-stop productivity wherein the words just flow and my sentence structure magically forms itself into something that’s actually not half bad, I can perhaps turn out a solid 8,000 word chapter in maybe a month or so, but realistically…? This happens only once in a blue moon, and exclusively for the chapters that I’ve planned out in excruciating detail beforehand. Then there’s replying to comments over on Ao3, answering your asks on here, all the time I invest in worldbuilding / the planning of future chapters, and -of course- my life outside of this fic (because yes, surprisingly I do have one of those). Most likely you won’t see a new chapter for at least a few months after that most recently posted… so please know that I adore you all for your enthusiasm, but even more for your patience, because I dedicate a lot of time and effort to every sentence of this fic and it really does mean a lot that you’re willing to support me while you wait ♡

Owing to (1) my sporadic update schedule, (2) the length of my chapters, and (3) the fact that my most recent update was only a couple of months ago—which, for LB, is not long at all—I wouldn't recommend holding your breath for an update in the immediate future. If I can, I'd like to finish chapter 25 before TotK releases, but if that doesn't happen then the wait will likely be longer this time around, because I'll be busy living my best Legend of Zelda: New Horizons life lmfao ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for Keith & Lotor, it would be unlikely that Keith would need to "barge in" to any of Lotor's meetings, for the fact that he'd usually have his own seat at the table by virtue of being a member of the imperial household.
