Was thinking about the devastation I felt that one time in college when I rounded a corner with excitement thinking they were selling candyfloss only to be greeted by a vape and it suddenly came to me: this but GinHiji
Hijikata's shoulders do this little jump thing and then he straightens in his seat. His hands aren't covering his face anymore, but Gintoki's willing to bet that under the chabudai where no one can see, he's got his nails digging into his palms the way he always does whenever he's nervous.
...And now Gintoki's getting kinda nervous too. Are they actually in trouble? Wait, is there a no-dating clause somewhere in their Code or something? There wouldn't be, right? Hijikata wrote it, but he wouldn't go that far, right?
Excerpts of Liner notes from the Tiger & Bunny 2 OST including commentary from Ike Yoshihiro, composer.
Thank you dear Anon for the scans.
TN: I come from a classical music background (piano and flute), so I took some liberties with these translations to incorporate some musical terminology usually used when describing compositions. I'm hoping the intent remains. I wanted to translate as a composer would speak naturally in English.
The first thing I would like to say, is though the show seems to be over, the protagonists' stories continue in everyone's mind. With you, they are evolving, and "TIGER & BUNNY" will not end. Please don't forget to love those who continue to carry on among everyone. I hope you enjoy this soundtrack in that time.

Yuri
It is a piece that proceeds with a melodic arrangement of "The Voice of Thanatos". It took a long time to compose because when it was requested (TN: Ike uses "ordered") the script had not been completed. I asked the producer to wait until the last minute to finish the song, saying "Until I see the end ..." I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I couldn't compose Yuri's song without knowing his ending.
Like Yuri, I wanted to create a composition where I could carry out justice with my own will. As you know, Yuri has a very deep past. The handprint on his face has a really intense story, and he didn't crumble from those circumstances. Yuri's way of life was also heard flowing through the piece, so it took great care for it not to become a requiem according to my thoughts. If there is an orchestral concert, there is a full score you can use to play it properly as it is written. I want to play this song (laughs)!
It's a piece that has a feeling of the brave parts and prohibitive justice of Lunatic.
The entrance of the song is full of "justice", and from there, it gradually becomes "Goodbye, Lunatic". I really wanted to compose a song with Lunatic's iron spirit, but I didn't, because I knew there was no place to use it (laughs). The reason why it sounds gorgeous, is because I recorded it with a large orchestra that had enough members for a concert.
Even the American musicians said, "What is such a wonderful song used for?" And "Amazing! This piece is used in animation!?" I was surprised. I was asked: "What kind of scene takes place (when it is used)?" I replied, "It may be used for the ending of the most heroic hero." I think the piece would have gotten longer and longer if I didn't watch myself while composing. I also I couldn't help including requiem-like elements. I think I'd like to compose a requiem on the night of the concert.
Today's AniAnimal is Jugem Jugem (abbreviated) from "Gintama Season 2". This monkey has an extremely long name that is a parody of a rakugo story.
今日のアニアニマルは『銀魂’』に登場するのジュゲムジュゲム(略称)。この猿は、落語のパロディである非常に長い名前を持っています。
It's made up of the top 10 songs as decided by fans via a survey conducted last year, with some fun surprises sprinkled here and there. For each song, video would play of the scenes or characters related to the song. In between songs, the cast (voice actors Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki), Daisuke Sakaguchi (Shinpachi), Rie Kugimiya (Kagura), with Mikako Takahashi (Otsuu/Sadaharu) as the MC, "DJ Otsuu" and Elizabeth as itself) would occasionally chat on stage.
The track list (with a couple of notes) is under the cut.

Sukonbu Okawari Yoroshi ? (酢昆布おかわりヨロシ?) (Introducing one of the Yorozuya members, Kagura)
The Shinsengumi will depart Edo tomorrow; as the city mourns the loss with a heavy downpour, Okita Sougo, the esteemed Captain of the first division, bleeds out in a shallow canal.
Across from him lies the equally-battered bane of his existence. She'd opened up his stitches with that last blow. He ponders the irony of dying in this ditch after all they'd been through.
Well, if this is how it ends...
"Go out with me," he says, as nonchalant as he can manage with a tongue that feels like sandpaper. Hopefully his rival will be too tired out to kill him for it.
Said rival scrunches up her nose at the sky and gives it a moments thought. Sougo counts each second by the heartbeat. After an agonizing moment of consideration, Kagura delivers her verdict.
"Nuh-uh."
