Dojin doesn’t blame Seungwan for stabbing him. It’s hard to blame someone caught up in the same things he is for panicking; he too can remember the first few months, when Seunghyun sent him to learn to fight, the fear that was overwhelming, clambering up in his throat like bile and clutching him tightly in its grasp. 

And now the scar of the wound is nothing but a line, barely raised on his skin, already forgotten. Seungwan shaking, crying, unsure, is not forgotten. The softness of Seunghyun’s words as Dojin played dead, is not forgotten. The bitter, jealous monster in Dojin’s chest, unfurling its wings and roaring as Seunghyun murmured “You did good,” and took the knife from Seungwan’s hands. 

Yes, hyungnim, he had said, so why did he never get it? The approval, the trust; Seungwan had spent close to three years doing everything he could to make Seunghyun angry, doing anything he could to piss the man off, and it had been Seungwan in the end who still received the affection.

Dojin hated him. Deeply, coldly, a loathing he could never walk away from. It surrounded his heart and hardened like a shell of armour, to protect him from all that could happen, all that would happen. 

And now…

“Stand still, Dojin-ah,” Seunghyun says. He’s not holding a gun, though Dojin isn’t stupid enough to think he doesn’t have one on him. “I don’t want to make a mess,” Seunghyun adds and Dojin can’t help the curl of his lip in disgust, horror, anything but fear. 

“Did Seungwan ask you to do this?” Dojin asks quietly. His voice is level, calm, accepting. Seunghyun doesn’t seem to notice, doesn’t seem to pause; Dojin wishes he would. 

“Just be a good boy and stay still,” Seunghyun says. The words are derisive, uttered carelessly. Dojin scoffs, looks away, and shakes his head. 

“No, hyungnim. I’m done following your orders,” Dojin whispers. He has the gun Seunghyun gave him, barely two feet away, and Seunghyun does nothing to stop him from moving to it. The gun is halfway raised to his head when Seunghyun realises what he’s doing. And in that split second, Dojin is sure he can see a moment of panic, uncertainty, in Seunghyun’s eyes, a moment of fear on his face. 

He pulls the trigger.

huge pet peeve for me lately, people using 2chan for binchan and 2seung for seungsung. 찬 and 창 are not the same.... you cannot 2chan when there is only one chan. same with seungsung. 승 and 성 are absolutely not the same. they're not romanized the same way either. not 2seung... only one seung inside. we gotta do away with these 2s.
