sometimes i worry when writing like artist statements and that kind of stuff that i sound like a jackass and i think to a certain extent every artist does unfortunately myself included but then i read some others statements and it's like. look i'm decently well read and smart enough, but this shit is totally incomprehensible to the degree where there's no way the artist/writer even knows what they're trying to say. complete word salad

Especially,,,, for my colleagues in a goddamn Phd program, like, what a hell scape, please take the weekend off. I told myself for the longest time that I had to just keep working because I couldn’t NOT work over the weekend or I would burst into flames - oh my fucking god !?!?!?!? If you’re looking for a signal that you should just say ‘fuck it’ and take the day for yourself, then fucking do it. PLEASE.

The truth about being in an English PhD program: Everything is awful, no one gives a shit what you do, just ask for an extension, like for the love of GOD, just ask for an extension. Please take the full weekend and go for a long walk in the snow and pet a dog.

#his fantasy ratemyprof is all 5stars and 1stars no in between. the fives majorly outweigh the ones but the ones are very strongly worded #about how he's really stringent on due dates (incorrect he just knows bullshit when he sees it) and extremely humorless (sometimes he #makes jokes that none of the students get and he thinks that's really funny so he keeps doing it) and grades harshly (absolutely) and goes #On and On about ethics (ABSOLUTELY) but the high ratings are split between 'super lame but a really good teacher' and 'he's NOT lame we #asked him to turn into a dragon and he DID' and 'my cousins gf swears she saw him and some monk kicking the shit out of someone in an #alleyway and idk why but i believe her. also when he teaches utility cantrips we get extra credit for pulling pranks on him with them. 5/5' #the difference is entry vs advanced classes. grad students are like 'yeah he goes to raves in nicodranas and won't take us with him'
