i'm not jealous !! (savanaclaw x gn!reader)
requested by anon: Heyy, saw the req is open again 👀 Can i req headcanons of savannaclaw with gn s/o where s/o gives all of their attention to another person rather than their own boyfriend (accidentally or not on purpose, maybe 'cause that person needs something important and s/o helps them). Thanks 💓 note: this is very overdue 😭 recent fics: savanaclaw with a furina-like female reader & octavinelle with a fischl like female reader! & you feel like home & let me kiss you
Tumblr media
* ˚ ✦ leona kingscholar
"you're leaving already?" "mmm! since the vdc is coming up, vil asked me to help in managing the team. i will try to make it up to you okay, leo?" "hmp, suit yourself."
leona is not a clingy type of guy but he for sure wants to have most of his time either sleeping or being with you (yes he is clingy)
he is too used to the fact that you would find your way to bother him everyday + it feels empty without you by his side
so when you start to hang out more around the vdc group instead of him- this man will be very very petty 😭
not because you were busy no leona knows how much you want to help other people but what takes the cake is the fact that you started cancelling out your plans
"i'm sorry love, can we take a rain check? things are kinda hectic here right now" "... oh my god, are we supposed to go out today? sorry leo, i promise i will make it up to you."
the moment you try to make it up, he will tun the other way, his tail aggressively thumping on the floor while leona will look you dead in the eyes menacingly
"finally have some time for me now?" "leo-" *cue his tail thrashing*
at first he will try to look unmoved by your apologies and the only thing you can do is talk to his tail
he finally give in after receiving home made food with meat and being his pillow for a while but never do that again 🤬🤬🤬
Tumblr media
* ˚ ✦ ruggie bucchi
i dare to say he is the most vocal out of the three
because what do you mean you can't come to your date because something about someone happened 🤬 that is not your responsibility young one 🫵
ruggie won't move if something will not benefit him but with you involved this hyena will run
"wow welcome back, did you have fun?" "uhuh, come here you hyena your face is not fooling anyone."
ruggie's approach would be in a teasing way
but it is a facade to not show his jealousy too much because you were supposed to spend your time together 😔and a guy like ruggie values his time especially with you
"why don't you spend time with them again?" "...ruggie, are you jealous?" "what like it's supposed to be a secret?"
while he is the most vocal one - he is the one who will also give you silent treatment when you start to cancel on your plans
you were supposed to do things together are you replacing him now!
"i'm not one to share what is mine. especially when it's you."
after wrapping things with your friend's problem - expect this hyena to be attached to you to the bone and give him some donuts when you are at it
Tumblr media
* ˚ ✦ jack howl
this man will be dejected for the entire time to the point that people are pointing out how his ears droop
unlike the other two, jack would try to convince himself that it's normal for you to pay attention to other things
at first jack would try to help you out because you are also friends after all but unfortunately it's not the field he can offer his help so all he can do is to reassure you that he's fine
"jack are you sure?" "it's alright. they need your help right?"
but to be honest he needs your help too 😭 he already reassured you right? but why does he feel so jealous whenever you come back to hang out only to talk about your friend whom you had helped out
"jack, you look a little sick - are you okay?" "well... it's because you keep talking and spending more time with them." "huh?" "why don't you just go hang out with them instead? i'm sure they'll keep you better company, right?"
after that - as much as jack doesn't want to avoid you, he just can't help it + he can't look at you in the eye after suddenly blaming you
technically both of you are at fault but shouldn't your relationship be built on trust
when you finally confront him, all your problems are clarified and just lack communication with each other
it may take some time for jack to fully acknowledge that feeling and become more open about it but one thing that he knows for sure that he trusts you
"i'm sorry for saying such things that day."
"you're so cute, you know that? don't worry jack, i love being with you."

He was your Simon. No one else's. You two had met when he was on leave and fell in love. So by definition, he was yours first. It sounds selfish but when you barely get to see him due to him going on missions on months on end, you'd understand why you want to hold onto him as much as you can.
You watched as your Simon walk in together with Soap once again. This was the third time this week where he had claimed he was busy only to be seen with Soap afterwards.
"Sorry I kept him long, bonnie," Johnny apologized again.
"It's okay. Glad you two had fun," you tell him.
You liked Soap. He was a good guy and he understood what your Simon had to go through during their time in the military. There was nothing wrong with him. Until he and your Simon got closer and closer. You noticed it from the way they interacted with each other.
But you would never say anything to them. You loved Simon. He was everything to you. You trusted him. But you began to notice something between the two. It was obvious even if they were trying to hide it. So if keeping your Simon meant that you had to stay silent, so be it.
“I’m going out,” Simon told you exactly at 5pm. You noticed each time he told you he was going out, it was always at 5pm.
“Again? Simon, I was hoping we can have a date night?” You tell him with a small frown. You couldn’t remember the last time you two had gone on a proper date with each other.
“Sorry love. I already got plans. How about I make it up to you tomorrow yeah? Just the two of us and we can do whatever you want,” Simon offers.
“Okay. That’s fine,” you nodded with a small smile.
“Don’t need to wait up on me,” Simon tells you. You nodded once again before he put on his coat to head out.
“I love you, Simon,” you tell him. Simon stared at you a little with a soft smile. But there was something else in that smile.
“I love you too,” Simon tells you before leaving your shared apartment.
Simon felt guilty. Leaving you alone for a night with Soap. He loved you both but he didn’t know if you’d be okay in getting into a relationship with both him and Soap. Had had to think of you first since you were there for him first before Soap.
“You okay, Lt?” Johnny asked. The two sat in the back of a bar at a booth, sitting next to each other.
“I just feel guilty,” Simon tells him.
“About?”
“I feel like I’m lying to Y/n,” Simon tells him.
“Simon-“
“But as much as I want her, I want you too. I need you both.”
“I’m here for you Simon. And you know she loves you too. I don’t want to hurt her either. She’s a good woman and you both need each other in a way,” Johnny said.
Johnny could at least acknowledge that even though he and Simon loved each other, he didn’t want to hurt you. You were kind and caring. Not to mention you were there first before Johnny.
Simon felt guilty, the more he began to drink with Johnny the guilt began to go away a little. The next thing he knew, he’s waking up next to Johnny naked in Johnny’s bed at four in the morning. Now he was more guilty and had dug his grave.
——
The next day, you knew what he did. And Simon knew that you knew. It wasn’t the fact he came home in the early morning or the silence that made him know that you knew. It was the hickeys on his neck that he didn’t hide. He was too busy to get back home to you first to even look at the hickeies Johnny gave him.
You lied in your bed crying as your heart was broken. Simon sat on the other side of the door, listening to your crying. It broke him or hear you cry. He never meant to hurt you but he did. The mental pain was far worse than the physical pain and he knew it.
“Love, can we talk?” Simon you.
“Ghost, leave me alone please,” you tell him. Simon got up the moment you used his code name. He didn’t want you to see him as Ghost. He was your Simon. Your Simon that you love. He wanted you to know that you didn’t loose him. He was here with you and begging for your forgiveness.
“Love. Please. Don’t call me that. Open the door please,” Simon begged as he tried to open the door.
“Ghost, I need a moment. Please. Just go to Soap if you need to,” you tell him, still hurt from what you saw this morning.
Simon’s heart broke from your words. Yes he was in love with Johnny but he didn’t want to run to Johnny whenever you two had a problem. Even before Johnny you two were able to work things out whenever you had a fight. But this was different. You didn’t use his code name in anger like you would do.
You used his code name as if you didn’t recognize him anymore.
“I’m not going anywhere. I’ll stay here until you’re ready to talk,” Simon tells you before walking to the living room.
You didn’t come out of the room till 9pm. When you walked out, you saw Simon sitting on the couch with red eyes. He looked over at you as you looked worse than he did. He got up before getting on his knees in front of you. You had never seen him this vulnerable before.
“Love, I’m sorry. Please, I’m sorry. I’ll do anything. Please,” Simon begged. He couldn’t let you leave him. He needed you. Although, he wasn't sure if he could say the same thing about you needing him.
“What do you want me to say, Ghost?” You asked him.
“Don’t call me that. I’m Simon. I’m your Simon,” he tells you as he stood up. He held your hands in his before kissing them. Trying to cling onto you as much as he could before you could slip away from his fingers any more than you already had.
“Are you?” You asked him.
“Yes. I’ll do anything to prove it to you,” Simon begged. You stayed quiet before walking to the kitchen to grab something to eat.
“Let me, love,” Simon said before going into the kitchen to make you something. You lied on the couch until Simon had food ready for you.
It was going well for you both for a month before Simon had to go on a mission. He spent his last couple of days, letting you know how much he loved you in the bed to remind you that he loved you and how much he needed you.
“I love you so much, Y/n,” Simon tells you.
“I love you too, Simon,” you tell him.
——
The moment Simon had told you that he was coming back, you were excited. You had news to tell him that you hoped he would choose you. It was selfish yes but you were human. It was a natural thing. And you hoped that your news would bring you two closer.
But the moment Simon came home, you knew something was wrong. Instead of giving you a kiss that would eventually lead into the bedroom like how he used to do, he kissed your cheek and told you he had to shower.
He had left his phone on his stand while he showered. You weren’t the type to look through his phone but you had to know. You unlocked his phone to see the messages he had sent to Johnny.
Simon 5:00pm: I miss you.
Simon 10:45pm: Can I see you Johnny?
Johnny 10:46pm: Are you sure?
Simon 10:47pm: I need you right now.
Simon 11:34pm: I need you. Can I come over?
Simon 1:05pm: I can pick you up before we head back to base.
Johnny 1:07pm: Sounds good.
Simon 3:08pm: Just got home. I love you.
Johnny 3:10pm: I love you too. Let me know when you want to meet up again.
You noticed the dates and times. They were all while you and Simon were supposedly patching things up before he had to go on a mission. How many times has he snuck off to see Johnny? How many times did he tell you that he loved you that now felt like lies? Were they together intimately when they were on their mission? The last text being more recent with Simon telling Johnny that he loved him hurt the most.
You were a fool. A goddamn beautiful and forgiving fool. But this was the pushing point.
———
The flat felt colder and somehow smaller. Simon noticed all of your little things were gone the moment he came back from the gym. He knew something was wrong. He rushed to the bedroom to find it tidied up but empty.
Your nightstand no longer had your stuff on or in it. Your side of the closet was empty. All his hoodies and shirts that you had taken from him was hung or neatly folded and put away. It was as if you were never here.
Simon noticed a letter on his nightstand making him walk over and sit on his side of the bed. He took the letter in his hand before opening it up.
Simon,
I know you choosing between me and Johnny will be hard on you. So let me make the decision for you, go ahead and choose him. I don’t think I can continue fighting for your love even though I would’ve done anything and everything for you. I love you Simon. But I can’t face anymore emotional neglect and keep waiting for you to return the love I’ve been giving you.
Am I hurt? Yes. Am I surprised you fell for Johnny? No. He can understand you in many ways I would never be able to understand. I just wished I was enough for you.
Please do not contact me or find me. I think it’s best for me to move on and let myself heal. I know it seems selfish but I need this.
Goodbye Simon.
- Y/n
Simon took out his phone and quickly called you. Maybe it wasn’t too late?
“We're sorry you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service.”
His worse fear has come true due to his selfishness. You were gone from his life.
———
Five years have gone since Simon last heard you. He had told Johnny he needed some time before continuing their relationship together the moment you left him. Five years since you left him but not a day had gone by without Simon thinking about you.
Were you doing okay? Were you in a safe place? Have you moved on officially?
It was now his and Johnny ‘s leave and they had to grab some groceries for the week. While Simon had gone to grab a couple of stuff, Johnny made his way to another aisle before feeling someone bump into his legs. Soap looked down at the small child in front of him. His eyes widen as he saw the small boy who looked exactly like Simon minus his hair color.
“Sorry sir,” the little boy said as he backed up.
“You okay lad?” Soap asked him.
“Yes. I’m just trying to get those cookies,” the little boy said as he pointed at the package that was on a shelf higher than him.
“Oh uh. Here,” Soap tells him as he handed him the cookies.
“Thank you!” The little boy smiled before running off to a man who had appeared from the other end of the aisle.
“You ready, Johnny?” Simon asked him as he walked over to him. He put the food he grabbed into the cart before looking at Johnny.
“Get this Lt. I just met a kid who looked exactly like you,” Soap tells him.
“Doubt it,” Simon scoffed unconvinced.
“I swear it!”
Simon shook his head before his eyes landed on someone familiar. His eyes widen, making Johnny look over to see who he was staring at.
You stood at the end of the aisle with the man and the child that Johnny had helped out not too long ago. You were glowing in more ways than one. You looked happier and healthier than the last time the two men saw you.
Not to mention, you were pregnant and had a ring on your finger. Simon couldn’t help but grew jealous and angry. You should’ve been like that with him.
“Simon? Johnny?” You asked confused as you finally saw them. You and your family walked over to the two who stood at the other end of the aisle.
“Hey bonnie. You're looking good,” Johnny said surprised. Simon looked over at the small boy who did look exactly like him.
Simon didn’t know wether to be angry, sad, or disappointed in himself.
“Hi. Thanks. Are you two on leave?” You asked.
“At the moment yes,” Johnny said.
“That’s good. Simon, Johnny, this is my husband Mitch. Mitch, this is Simon and Johnny,” you introduce them. Simon looked at you heartbroken. He had selfishly hoped that one day you would come back to him or at least he would be able to see you and beg for your forgiveness.
“Nice to meet you both,” Mitch smiled as he offered a handshake. Simon and Johnny both shook his hand out of politeness.
“Is this lad yours?” Johnny asked you.
“Yes. This is my son, Levi. Levi, sweetie, these are two of mommy’s old friends. Can you say hi?” You asked him.
“Hi Mr. Johnny. Hi, Mr. Simon,” Levi said.
“How old are you?” Simon asked him. You frowned at his question. There was no doubt that Levi was his. Mitch rubbed your back a little to help calm you down.
“Five,” Levi tells him shyly.
“He’s five?” Simon asked you with sadden eyes. How long were you alone before Mitch came into your life?
“Yes. We need to get going. We’re on vacation here,” you tell him before taking Levi’s hand.
“Bye Johnny. Bye Simon,” you tell the two.
“Wait, Y/n,” Simon said as he quickly held your hand with your wedding ring on it. He let go the moment he felt the ring.
“Can we talk sometime?” Simon asked you.
“Simon-“
“Please.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea. I’m sorry. Come on, Levi,” you tell your son as you lead him to the check out.
Mitch stayed behind before looking over at Simon.
“If you have any questions about Levi, here’s my number. Just message me and I can talk to you,” Mitch told Simon as he handed him a card.
“He’s not yours?” Simon asked for confirmation.
“She’s mentioned you both before and told me what happened. You have the right to know about your son,” Mitch told him before walking away from the two.
“Simon?” Johnny softly said to get his attention.
“Let’s go.” Johnny’s Simon tells him before walking away.
——
It took some convincing from your husband but just before you three left to go back home in America, you met with Simon at a café close to the airport.
“Thank you for meeting with me,” Simon smiled a little as you sat across from him.
“Yeah,” you tell him awkwardly.
“How have you been?”
“Better. From what you saw, I got a husband and my kids,” you tell him, placing your hand on your stomach.
“Have you told Levi that he’s my son?”
“No. And I can wait to tell him when he’s older to understand,” you say. Simon nodded, knowing it would be too much for the poor kid to understand.
“I want to apologize to you.”
“Simon-“
“No. I hurt you. I told you that I would never hurt you and I did. I love you, Y/n. And I’m happy you moved on but I really did love you. I’m so sorry and I’m begging for your forgiveness,” Simon tells you.
“Simon, I forgive you. I can accept on who you are but it just hurt when I watched you fall in love with someone else after everything we’ve been through. I stayed here for you. I wanted to be there for you but it felt like I lost you,” you tell him.
“I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay now. I’ve healed and I have a family now who I love,” you tell him.
“You deserve it. You deserve everything good in this world,” Simon tells you. You smiled softly before handing him an address and a phone number.
“That’s our address and my phone number. If you want to visit Levi, you can. He is your son. I’ll let you know when I tell him that your his dad,” you tell him. Simon stared down at the address and phone number before looking at you. You were still beautiful in his eyes and the guilt of letting you slip away began to creep up on him.
“We could’ve had a good family right?”
“Yeah.”
“You were a wonderful experience, Simon tells you.
“And you were everything,” you tell him before standing up and heading out the door.

Showering Hyunjin with affection
Bang Chan; Lee Know; Changbin; Han; Felix; Seungmin; IN;
Summary: you just had to show your drama queen of a boyfriend how much you love him. word count:2.5k
Warning: lot's of kissing, reader is gender neutral, both of them are whipped, appearance of 3racha, predebut Han almost making an entrance, Hyunjin is drunk and a drama queen, overall soft stuff. Please tell me if I missed something
A/N- I'm back with another fic, this took me a while but I'm kinda really satisfied with it, I really hope you all like it. I will try to write the next part as soon as I can. I wanna finish these series as soon as I can, first of all because I'm all excited and can't wait, also I'm excited to try out new tropes, I was thinking of challenging one bed trope after this, with various different dynamics. The requests are open, if you want me to write something I'll gladly accept the challenge. Also feel free to share your thoughts with me, I absolutely adore interacting with y'all.
Tumblr media
After sighing for the nth time you finally forced yourself to turn off the shitty netflix show you were watching to spend time. You had nothing to do and were bored out of your mind, but not to that context to sit through another minute of this. It was almost 3 am and any normal person would be asleep by now, but here you were wide awake, feeling nothing remotely close to sleepiness.
You sat up straight after laying for couple of hours and boy you regretted it. The dizzy spell you got was nothing to joke with, maybe you should check your iron levels. Also your poor muscles felt so sore you would surely feel all stiff tomorrow. Your back was killing you, and, not to be dramatic but, you would marry anyone on the spot if they managed to massage the knots out. It was safe to say, you desperately needed some good spa day.
Speaking of marriage and partners, you were curious on how Hyunjin was doing. Even a mere thought of your amazing boyfriend bought a smile to your face. You couldn't believe you two were actually dating after pining over him for so many years. You sure were lucky tho, to have a sweetheart like him as your boyfriend. Your one year annivercary was coming soon and you couldn't surprise wait to surprise him. You've been planning everything for weeks now and you made sure everything would be perfect. Well you had to share some of your plans with him, so that you could plan your day together but you still had major card up your sleeve and you were sure he would lose his mind when you showed it to him. Two days, you only had to wait for two days.
You couldn't help but sigh, you missed him so much. Even though you saw him two days ago it felt like centuries had passed. This boy made you feel so many so foreign emotions you were never sure you would get to or actually could experience. He always went above and beyond to make you feel like the most special and cherished person, and the fact that he also did so even before you two started dating each other. He was always so sweet and gentle with you. You always felt like a hero of a romance novel. Also you adored how being with him was so fun and exciting but at the same time bought peace to your heart and mind. You might be rushing into things but day by day, second by second you were convinced he was your soulmate, your other half.
A sudden buzzing of your phone startled you out of your daydream, you were curious who in their right mind was calling you at this hour.
Seeing the contact name had you even more confused. Why would Chan be calling you at 3 am? You knew the boys were out having fun night for themselves. Did something happen? You hoped he called you for other reasons, because it would really suck if their rare chance of having fun got ruined by something unplanned. You sure hoped everything was okay tho. Quickly as you could you grabbed your phone and answered it mentaly preparing yourself to hear anything Chan had to say.
Chan's call of your name bought you down to reality from another spiral of unnescesary thoughts.
"Hey Chan what's up?" You tried to sound as calm as you could.
Chan cleared his throat, "I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" You quickly denied it," no I'm awake, what's up? Is everything okay?"
Chan chuckled and it made you relax a little, so nothing bad had happened, "yeah, yeah everything's fine , nothing to worry about, it's just your boyfriend is getting a bit fussy." You couldn't help but mirror the last word, you heard Chan chuckle. "Yeah alcohol must've got to him. We were about to go home, but he refuses to cooperate. He says he wants to go at yours because he as he quotes "misses his baby so much he can't take it anymore!" He dragged the words mimicking your boyfriend, you couldn't help but chuckle.
"Where are you guys, I can come pick him up." You suggested while searching for your keys with your eyes.
"No, no it's okay, we can bring him at yours. Binnie and Han are with me too so I don't think it will be much trouble. I just couldn't knock some sense into him, I told him to call you but he said his phone died. At some point he even ran towards your house or that's what he thought I had to tackle him before he could get lost. I don't think he can tell left from right in this state" He paused for a second, you heard someone talking but you couldn't hear anything, " I'm getting off track sorry, so it's good to bring him at yours?" You were full on chuckling now, what a silly little man.
"Yeah, it's totally fine. I'm sorry he's being trouble."
"No it's fine, it's kinda endearing to see him this whipped. All he talked about was you and how amazing you are." Your cheeks hurt from smiling this wide, God, you loved that idiot. "Okay I won't bore you anymore, we'll be at yours soon."
"Okay I'm waiting."
After finishing the call you made sure you looked decent enough for your taste and that your apartment looked neat. You also prepared clothes for Hyunjin to change into from his drawer and some water and painkillers for tomorrow.
It didn't even take 20 minutes for the boys to arrive. The second you opened your door Hyunjin tackled you into a hug, almost knocking you over, thankfully Changbin and Chan caught you two before you could manage and break your necks. You giggled at your boyfriends eagerness, before frowning when you saw how swollen and red his eyes were. "What happened baby?" You cooed at him and moved his hair out of his face. Hyunjin sighed and hugged you again, hiding his face in the crook of your neck. You heard collective sigh of boys and turned your attention to them, looking at them with confused eyes, hoping they would tell you what was up.
Han decided to break the silence-"don't worry he was just bawling his eyes the whole ride, crying how amazing and perfect you were and how there is no one like you." He said and rolled his eyes, you huffed out a laugh, you knew he had nothing against you, but he must have had enough of this. Hyunjin frowned and glanced at him, his hold on you tightened, you were not sure if he felt possesive or just couldn't keep himself straight. "You're just bitter cuz you're single!" Hearing your boyfriends grumble Han's eyes widened and for a second you were afraid predebut Han would return. "Oh I'm gonna beat his ass!" Han leaned in but Changbin held him back by his collar, Changbins gaze then turned to you and you noticed how tired he seemed. "Good luck, he's your headache now."
Chan looked at you" Do you need any help with anything?" You smiled at him and shook your head. "I can handle him. Do you guys wanna come in tho? Do you want something to drink?" After hearing the last word you could see all three of them shiver.
"We're fine. It's late too we better head home." Chan reassured you after glancing at Changbin and Han for their opinion.
"Okay, thanks again for bringin him. Tell me when you're home, it's really late."
You said your goodbyes and turned to hyunjin who looked at you with dazed, sparkling eyes. "Let's get you settled pretty boy." You took his hand and started leading him towards your bedroom. Hyunjin eagerly followed you, you were amazed how pliant he was being, usually he loved being a brat but he must have been too tired now to act so.
After helping Hyunjin get ready for bed, you quickly got changed too and got in bed next to him. turning to him you noticed that he looked at you with wide eyes, nowhere near sleepy now. You leaned in and removed hair from his forehead, "I thought you were sleepy baby." Hyunjin looked at you for a second or two and opened his arms, "wanna cuddle." His words were slurred but you still got what he meant, you smiled and immediately snuggled next to him his arms finding solace around you. Based on how content he looked, if he could he would start purring any second now. How was he so cute and lovable? You knew you were whipped for him but you could swear he looked extra yummy right now.
You spent couple of minutes like this, and based on his even breathing you were sure he was asleep now, but you were proved wrong when he huffed while glaring at you and then changed sides so that you were now facing his back. To be honest you were a bit dumbfounded.
"What's wrong sweetie?" You couldn't help but pry, you had no idea what could've brought this behavior from him. Hyunjin just huffed. You sighed for yourself, you had got to use the big guns. You leaned in closer, amused at how he tried to get away from your touch, as if he had much space to run off to, and soon, not really to your surprise you had him trapped in the corner of your bed. You wrapped your hand around his stiff body and leaned in closer so that you could sweetly whisper against his ear. " Please tell me what's wrong my love" you dragged his nickname as sweetly as you could knowing it made him weak in the knees, and it did break through him. Hyunjin sighed and laid on his back, you glued next to him, his lips were pouted and his eyes a little bit glossy, you rubbed his side to ease him into talking .
"You don't love me" he whined quietly, you expected to hear anything but this from him if you were honest. You blinked at him confused, trying to gather your thoughts, you were both perplexed and also hollering from laughter inside. He was so ridiculous sometimes. You took a deep breath and moved your fingers to play with his soft locks, Hyunjin immediately leaned into the touch.
"My love, I love you so much I don't think you can even comprehend it! What brought this up?" Your voice was soft, you wanted him to know how sincere you were. Hyunjin sighed and put his hand on your waist, successfully bringing you closer to him, your fingers migrated and now were gently scratching his nape. Hyunjin hid his face in the crook of your neck and quietly grumbled "you didn't kiss me even once since I got here, we haven't seen each other in a while tho." No matter how hard you tried you couldn't hold it in and started cackling, this adorable as hell drama Queen! He had you worried for nothing! You even thought for a second you did something wrong.
Noticing your shaking figure, Hyunjin looked up at you with doe eyes, and his pout deepened when he saw you that you were wholeheartedly laughing. "Stop laughing I'm talking from my heart here!" His comment made you laugh even harder. "I should've gone home, you hates me" noticing how sad he sounded you got reminded that he was drunk as hell and was feeling more fragile, you wondered tho if he would remember any of this in the morning? Was it too late to grab a camera? Pouty Hyunjin was adorable.
"I'm sorry my love, you know I love you the most." Hyunjin rolled his eyes, and you knew he was playing with you, his eyes glimmered with mischief, well, two could play this game. You lowered your voice so you sounded almost sultry "Why don't you let me prove my sincerity to you then? Are you gonna let me?" You carefully watched as Hyunjin's eyes widened for a second, the big gulp and careful nod of his head.
This was all the permission you needed, you leaned in and carefully sealed your lips together, your boyfriend basically melted against you. You just loved how soft and pillowy his lips were, you always felt like you could kiss him for eternity.
The kiss started out soft, with you gently caressing his lips, his hand firm on your waist, holding you as if you were going to go away. Everything went quiet, you could only see, smell, taste, feel, hear him and so much more, he was the center of your universe. It was just you two right now, you didn't care about anything else. You had one goal only and you were dedicated. Everything about him was driving you crazy, you were sure he couldn't even grasp what, or how much you were feeling.
Your kisses quickly deepened and apart from gasping for air from time to time you two were inseparable, like two magnets pulling on each other.
The second Hyunjin leaned back for a second for some air, you decided to continue your little attack on his jaw, then his cheeks, absolutely loving the feel of his soft skin on your lips, then came his forehead, his eyelids, his beautiful nose, his chin, his neck... You wanted to cover every inch of him in kisses, to show appreciation to whichever god or gods crafted him, to show appreciation that this walking perfection was yours, his soft sighs and whines making you go even crazier.
You littered every part of skin you could reach with kisses until your lips were so numb and buzzing you got afraid they would fall off. Although, it didn't sound that bad, knowing the last thing they did was to kiss the Hwang Hyunjin senseless.
Looking at him, he looked at you with so much love and adoration, his face and neck all flushed, his breathing was quick and shallow, his hair all disheveled, his beautiful hands held you so tightly, your heart started fluttering all over again. He looked absolutely breathtaking, you wished you could engrave this moment into your mind for eternity. You smiled at him and softly grazed his cheek. "Are you satisfied with my answer my precious?" Your voice was soft, Hyunjin gleamed at you and eagerly nodded his head, and the next thing you knew you were on your back on the bed, Hyunjin above you, hugging you as tight as he could, his lips softly kissing your collarbone. "Absolutely, I love you so much beautiful, you have no idea" he pressed another kiss on your neck and then your lips with so much love and passion you just knew your feelings were returned with the same passion and vigor.

Ninjago Oc Secret Summer 2024!
What is a Secret Summer? - It's basically a Secret Santa (A secret gift giving event) but in Summertime/Not-December instead! - For this event, you'll be secretly assigned someone to draw/write a gift for based around their oc(s) - It's very important that no one knows that you are making them a gift and vice versa, that you don't know who is making you a gift!
Are there any rules?
- Absolutely no N/S/F/W or Suggestive content is permitted for prompts, gifts, or references. This is /not/ an 18+ event.
- No direct contact with the person you're making a gift for; you can communicate through me or someone helping run the event, or ask through anon on tumblr if you can.
- No AI art/writing, Gacha edits, face claims, picrews, or bases will be permitted for oc reference submissions or gifts.
- Oc x Canon and Oc x Oc ships are 100% allowed.
- Fankids, sonas, and self inserts are also allowed; my only rule is that fankids of Lloyd x Canon ships are not permitted.
- Please respect requests regarding holiday or seasonal preferences when making a gift. Don't depict an oc participating in a holiday or seasonal activity that the creator asked not be depicted. - For the art portion, you must draw the character(s) you were assigned and they must be visible (feel free to ask for clarification).
How many ocs can be submitted total? - Three ocs can be submitted but only one is required.
What will I need for sign ups? - Refs or art that show a clear, colored depiction of your oc - OR at least two pieces of writing for said oc (does not need to be a whole fic. Could easily just be a quick blurb showing how they're written as a character) - Basic Information/Fun Facts about your character. This can be background information, relationships, likes/dislikes, age and height, personality, etc. - Suggestions or prompts for your gift giver. Stuff to help get their brain going. - Your blog name (not the name you go by but the url name. Like @/Ninjago-Oc-Appreciation, for example. Make sure it's a tumblr url, and not from any other social media).
What's the General Timeline for this event? - Sign ups will be rolling out April 14th and will remain open until the 21st. Requests can be made for small extensions if needed. - Assignments will be made sometime after the sign up forms close; posting week will begin late June (exact date to be announced with sign ups) - There will be exactly one week designated as a late period at the start of July.
How do I sign up? - In April, I'll post a google document where you can submit your ocs! There will be one for writing and one for art! - Please reach out to me after signing up in some way. This can be through messages, asks, comments, etc. In the past we've had issues with the forms, where they'd "eat' a submission, and I'd like to know when to check to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Event Tags
- We'll be using #NOSS2024, #NinjagoOcSecretSummer2024, and #SecretNinja2024 as tags for this event!
That's all! If you have any questions feel free to let me know, I tried to cover everything but I may have missed something!
Feel free to reblog this post and share with people who might be interested!

"Through It All"
Tumblr media
Characters: Rio x Black!Reader.
Summary: There aren’t many things that put Rio on edge. Most people see a calm, cool, and collected individual. Keeping a level head is his specialty. What happens when the person he loves most needs him to be strong for both of them? Get a glimpse of what it’s like seeing him hold someone down through thick and thin, in sickness and health. If you know, you know.
**PLEASE READ THE WARNINGS AND AUTHOR’S NOTE**
Warnings: Angst…like seriously. You’ll understand once you read the author’s note. This fic contains sweet, soft, fluffy Rio. The fic includes some of my crazy humor with a smidge of the character’s inner thoughts. If reading about gynecological procedures makes you uncomfortable, this may not be a fic for you. It doesn’t go into great detail, but it is mentioned and sheds a bit of light. If mentions of the ins and outs of fertility is a soft spot, please read with caution. It isn’t my intention to bring anyone down, but this story is based on parts of my own experiences. Again, the note will explain more.
Author/Personal Note: Okay. Where to start? So, as some of you may know throughout the past two years I’ve been getting cycles of iron infusions. This year, after making several complaints and an ER visit or two. I had an ultrasound performed, which led to me getting surgery months later (the procedure I had done recently). I’ve been spending my days at home recovering, and it’s given me time to reflect. Damn, it’s been a rough couple of years, but I’m so thankful through it all. It’s difficult having a plethora of health issues. This situation put so much added stress on top of it all. As a woman, hearing you have a fibroid. Learning it’s best to get it removed to protect your fertility is scary as hell. You get it done, get sent home, and though you have loved ones taking amazing care of you. It’s still a difficult, challenging process. At times, it’s lonely. No one but you can fully wrap your head around the emotions and feelings the body is going through. It’s pretty wild.
Anywho, sorry y’all. Let me stop rambling and get to the point. We all know how overactive my imagination is. Being stuck in bed, my mind has been wandering. I thought to myself why not take this experience and channel it into a fic. I’m hoping that this will also be a comforting story to anyone who’s been through the same experience. Here is a look at how I envision Rio taking in the experience with his lady. I plan to write at least two more parts for this. Happy reading my lovelies! I wrote this on a whim, in celebration of my birthday, so ignore the grammatical errors my loves. I may come back and do some more editing. Depends on how I’m feeling.
Word Count: 1,800+.
Inspired By💜:
Random fun fact: Toni Braxton and I have the same birthday😆. Happy Birthday, Queen💓.

Everything was still as a deafening silence fell across the room. It was as if each occupant was afraid to utter a single word. Your mother pretended to distract herself with a Kindle book as your father paced the floor quietly. They’d share a glance each time they checked their watch, smiling at one another in comfort and reassurance.
Then, together, they directed their attention toward the chair in the far right corner. It was tucked in a tight corner next to a window, giving little relief and comfort to your husband, Rio. He, too was anxious, but no one would ever know it. He was always able to still his facial features. Never one to give his emotions away. The only person who could read him wasn’t in the room. You were on the other side of the building and the reason for your families’ nervousness. No longer able to stand the constant glances and silence, Rio stood from his seat. He released a breath, rubbing his palms against his jeans. Turning to your parents, he stated, “I’m going to grab a quick cup of coffee from the cafeteria. Would you two like something?”
Your mother, a gentle, nurturing soul, responded for both of them.
“No, baby. We’re fine. Don’t worry. I’ll come find you if we receive news.”
Rio ducked away in a vacant spot in the cafeteria, hands folded over top of the steam of the coffee. He searched for peace and solace until a jolting vibration exploded in his jacket pocket. Fumbling for the phone, he answered without looking.
“What they say ma-. Oh, my bad. Wassup? Everything good?” Rio listened patiently before snapping. “You know this is something you could’ve handled yourself, right? I don’t have time for the three stooges bullshit today.”
He instantly felt a slight pang of guilt. Rio realized that the stress and worry of his current situation were influencing his mood. Taking a deep breath, he relaxed. Inhaling, he continued, “My bad bro. She’s been in for three hours, and it’s got me tweaking. Nobody’s giving us any damn answers. It’s a non-invasive procedure, but it’s still considered major surgery. I just need to hear she’s good.”
“It’s all good, boss. I know you’re worried about wifey. She’s a strong woman. Boss lady’s going to be alright. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything. Call me as soon as you know something,” Mick responded.
“You're right. Thank you for holdin’ shit down.”
He laid his phone on the table, burying his face in his hands. The last few moments he spent with you were on repeat in his mind. Rio returned to the present, hearing the chair opposite him slide backward. His eyes connected with your father’s, and he readied himself for wherever the conversation would go.
It was no secret that the two hadn’t always seen eye to eye. The two men sat for several minutes before your father started speaking.
“I’ll be honest with you, man. You’re not at all what I envisioned for my daughter.”
“You seriously want to have this conversation right now?”
“Now wait, son. Let me finish.”
Hold up. It’s son now? Where is this going? It didn’t even sound disrespectful. It doesn’t sound like he’s trying to play me on some sucka shit. I’ll hear him out.
Rio nodded his head, giving your father the floor.
“I may not know all you do for a living, son, but I know you’ve managed to make a comfortable and safe life for my baby girl. When it comes down to it, that’s what I’ve always wanted for her. It took me some time to come to terms with it, but I know, without a doubt, that you’re doing everything in your power to make her feel protected and loved. Let me just say what I’m getting at,” he chuckled. “You’re good at hiding it, son, but I know you’re worried. Hell, so are we, but that’s alright.”
Rio’s head dropped, shoulders slumping. He took the opportunity to be vulnerable finally. Your father’s acceptance allowed him the space to do so. He felt a comforting grip land on his shoulder. Your father finished, “Baby girl is going to be alright, son. With all your love and support, she’ll be back on her feet soon. Now, you take a few more moments to yourself. Don’t be surprised when her momma wraps you up in a big hug when you head back. She’s worried about her favorite son-in-law.”
Rio chuckled, “I’m her only son-in-law, sir.”
“Even better. You ain’t gotta share. That sweet woman sure knows how to smother people in love.”
“You’re daughter is the same way. It’s one of the many things I love about her.”
“Which is why you understand my reasons for being so guarded. That’s my baby girl. Enough with that ‘sir’ shit too. Call me pops. My son may not like that, but I get a kick out of irritating him anyway. He’s overprotective of his sister.”
“Y’all gon’ try to take me out if I ever mess up, huh?”
“What I look like snitching on myself? Let’s not ever get to that bridge, son.”
The two men shared a laugh, but everything turned serious when they saw your mom power walking towards them. Rio's heart began thudding in his chest.
“Ma, what’s wrong? Did-.”
“Relax, sugar,” she cooed, rubbing a hand against both men’s arms. “The nurse said the doctor should be ready to talk to us in about fifteen minutes. Let’s head back to the waiting room.”
Fifteen minutes came and went. Your mother couldn’t help but crack a smile at both men. They both started fussing about how long the surgeon was taking. She felt sorry for the man once he approached them. The doctor, attempting to apologize, was cut off by an impatient Rio.
“You good, doc. We understand these things take time, but excuse us for being anxious. We were under the impression this would be about an hour-long procedure. How’s my wife?”
The surgeon explained himself. “That’s what we anticipated, but the process took longer. Your wife’s last ultrasound a few months back showed a fibroid the size of a plum. Sadly, it grew to the size of an orange, which would explain why things grew more difficult during her last few cycles. However, you’ll be happy to know that we managed to do it laparoscopically, and everything looks great. She’s being taken to recovery now, but we’ve decided to keep her overnight.”
All three of your family members asked, “Why is that,” in unison.
“We just want to keep an eye on her for the next twenty-four hours. Given gas was used to see things more clearly, we’d like to monitor her. We’ll need to see that she gets up and walks to get things flowing. I just want to be sure she gets it moving out of her system. Also, since she’s anemic, we just want to be extra careful. I promise everything went well, and she should be ready to go in the morning.”
Each family member felt at ease. The trio waited for an invitation to your recovery room. Though he wanted to be the first person you saw when you woke up, Rio encouraged your parents to go first. The two visitors' only rule irritated them all.
Your eyes fluttered open, and your parents laughed at the slurred responses given to your nurse. Your parents took turns kissing your forehead, expressing encouraging words. Your father, now at ease, left the room in search of Rio.
“You might want to hurry back there. She’s still a bit loopy. Baby girl has been asking the nurse, where my husband? You got my baby acting ratchet in this hospital,” he joked.
“Aye, she was like that when I met her,” he laughed, walking towards recovery.
Rio slid behind the curtain, laying eyes on the most precious sight. You were in bed, laid back, eyes closed, singing off-key as your mother held your hand, laughing. The nurse stepped beside him, giving a small giggle.
“She’s been looking for you. Ma’am, the man of the hour is here.”
Your eyes popped open as you halted the song. “My husbannnd! Hey baeee,” you winced, given the pain and having a hoarse voice.
“Mama, you back here wildin’ ain’t you? How’s our little patient doing, ma,” he directed toward your mom.
“Crazy as ever. This girl opened her eyes, looked at me, and called herself whispering. Loud as ever, she asked me if she still had a uterus. Her daddy would’ve turned red if he were capable.”
They both shared a laugh as you did your best to shrug shoulders. Wanting to give you two privacy, your mom went to sit in the waiting room. Rio turned to you, holding your hand. His lips brushed across your knuckles, and he shivered at how cold they were. Wrapping his hand around yours, he tried warming the digits.
“My momma ain’t answer my question though,” you mumbled, eyes closed.
Rio smiled, “What’s that now, mama?”
“My uterus. Sis still in there, right?”
“Yes, darlin’. What makes you think it’s not?”
“I signed them papers, man. In the event of a ‘mergency, they were going to take shawty,” you sassed, words still slurring.
Rio did his best to hold back a cackle. Clearing his throat, he replied, “Mama, you straight. Everything went according to plan. There was no emergency. The fibroid is out. It was bigger than expected. That’s why it feels like you were out for a while.”
“Aight bet. So when we making babies,” you asked, wincing again.
“First off, sit still, mama. Your body is pretty sore right now.”
“Baby, I’m drugged up! I don’t feel nothin’.”
“Second. You’ll be recovering for four to six weeks. You’re not going to be in any type of mood for all that. I believe the surgeon said no sex for two to three weeks. No babies for at least six months, darlin’. They just sliced your uterus open and stitched it back together, mama,” he explained, running his thumb across your lip.
He laughed at the pout etched on your face. Rio caressed the side of your face, kissing you gently. “On some real shit. I was worried out my mind over you, mama. I’m so glad you’re good. You’re my world. The clock kept ticking, and I was about to lose it.”
Your eyes connected with his, “I’m right here, papa. I’m good. We gonna be good. No matter what,” you whispered. Even through the drugs and drowsiness, you could feel his angst. Rio could read between the lines. He knew what you were trying to communicate. It had been on both your minds heavily. Your eyes connected with his. Rio saw the unshed tears you were holding back, and he swallowed hard, nodding his head in agreement. No matter where this path led, Rio knew, in his heart, that he loved you with everything in him.
Baby or not, we’ll still feel fulfilled and happy. My life’s purpose is to love and give you the world.

the arrow and the bull speared through the hearth || toto w. scenario
Tumblr media
toto wolff x ofc (hearth sister!ofc)
EXTENSION TO COLOUR ME YOUR COLOUR (can be read as a standalone)
Summary: Toto Wolff and Christian Horner’s arguments weren’t something she minded — seeing as they often argued like old married couples more than she and the Mercedes team principal did. But when a three year old child picked up on their petulant remarks (and even a swear word or more), all Tilly Wolff (née Hearth) could do was intervene and take matters into her own hands. Who would have thought that the bosses of two dominant formula one teams would be scared of no one but her?
Content warning: Use of explicit language, not proofread, kids learning how to swear, OFC being pissed and suggesting Christian Horner x Toto Wolff, brief angst, mostly humorous, year of setting: 2023 (Tia Wolff's age is three). Based on this request.
Note: In the span of a week, I have written ten smut drabbles/blurbs. I feel appalled because I never wrote any way before that.
I needed some dad!Formula One personnel content. So... enjoy this short Toto Wolff fic xx

A relaxed race week was what everyone expected when it came to the Monaco Grand Prix.
Everyone hoped for a chill week— some Formula One drivers lived in the principality and had hoped to enjoy the end of their weekend at a yacht, partying their asses off. They could care less about how tense it’d end up — they just wanted to have fun at the end of the week.
The same could be said for the superiors of the teams. All they wished for was a chill race week — this was Monaco, after all. It meant a lot but what’s a race in the richest country without a bit of fun?
Hell. And that’s what the two team principals were experiencing right now as they both sat next to each other; confused about the scowl that sat on Tilly Ford Wolff’s barely-aging face as Toto Wolff and Christian Horner exchanged looks — as if they were asking about what either of them had done to be in the hot seats of Tilly’s office in the Red Bull Racing team area.
And while the terse environment remained as such in the office, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell leaned against the wall outside the office as they patiently waited for Toto.
Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez both made their way towards the Mercedes duo as the Dutchman spoke, “Hey… what’re you guys doing here in the area?”
“Oh, hey Max,” Lewis greeted and nodded, “just you know… waiting.”
“They said Christian’s in Tilly’s office,” Checo told them, watching as the duo nodded in confirmation. “So you guys are waiting for Christian?”
“No,” George replied before gesturing towards the closed entrance. “Our boss is also there.”
“Oh— why?” Max asked, only to pause as Charles and Lando entered the area and gathered with the four drivers. “What the hell is everyone doing in the Red Bull area?”
“We were just told by Fred and Zak that Tilly’s called Christian and Toto to her office,” Lando said almost excitedly— too giddily.
Everyone — by that I meant the Mercedes and Red Bull drivers — must have forgotten that Tilly also owned the Ferrari team and the McLaren team, meaning that news spread easily across the grid thanks to the fact that the two teams (alongside Red Bull) shared the same owner.
“Do you guys know what it’s supposed to be about?” Max asked before nudging Lewis, “Lewis— you’ve got to know something. You’re married to Stevie.”
“And you’re not dating my wife’s sister?” Lewis scoffed before looking at Charles as well. “Do you know something?”
“Me? No,” Charles shook his head. “I’m just as curious.”
And while conversation rose in the group, Toto and Christian immediately looked away from the door as they both heard Tilly clear her throat.
“So,” she started, her teeth showing as if she was ready to offer the loveliest smile or to tear the team principals to shreds as she leaned against her desk. “I’ve had an interview today— it’s such a lovely day today in Monaco, isn’t it?”
Christian nodded as he replied, “Quite a good day to take the kids to the paddock, I’ll admit.”
“Of course,” Tilly smiled — a maniacal smile she offered Christian and Toto as she continued. “The kids are in here and all that— even Geri’s taking care of them right now. But let’s not get into the details of what they’re up to because I’ve heard something quite interesting from one of them.”
Toto’s face paled. He wasn’t sure if it had anything to do with him and Christian or just Christian only. Her children were Toto’s children so to be in this impromptu meeting was just to get him involved in his children’s life at the paddock.
But to be sitting next to Christian? The Austrian man knew that he did something.
“Tia,” was the first thing that came out of Tilly’s mouth, to which Christian’s face also paled before exchanging looks with Toto.
Tia, Toto and Tilly’s middle child and only daughter, was a three year old girl who acted more like Toto. In comparison to her brothers, Soren and Adelmo, Tia was more outspoken. The same could be said to all the things that she could’ve learned a second ago. When she learned how to say or how to know things, she just put her knowledge to work.
So whatever trouble did Christian and Toto caused, Tia picked up on it and showed what she learned to her mother — who is now watching the two with a death stare while she crossed her arms.
“So, I took Tia with me for the interview, right? She wanted to hang out with her Mama so who was I to deny my girl such a request?” Tilly spoke as if she wanted things to sound beautiful, but the fury behind her voice only showed when she said, “Then of course we prepared and we stood in front of the camera. The reporter asked her stuff and of course I allowed her to socialize with people!”
Tumblr media
“Now, Miss—“ the reporter looked at Tilly as if she was asking for the little girl’s name.
“Tia,” Tilly grinned widely, her arms still carrying the toddler.
“Miss Tia,” the reporter continued, Tia’s dark eyes brightening when she heard her name as she listened to the reporter ask, “What do you think about the Red Bull team?”
“Ich liebe Onkel Max!” I love Uncle Max! Tia exclaimed and looked for an approving nod from Tilly, to which the older woman grinned.
“You have to speak English, little darling,” Tilly spoke sweetly before turning towards the reporter, “I’m sorry— she’s learning so many languages that sometimes she’s not sure which one to speak!”
The reporter laughed at this and waved off the comment before she asked Tia, “And what do you think about the Red Bull car, Tia? Is it better than Mercedes?”
“No,” Tia giggled and shook her head insistently before she grinned.
“Red Bull is shit!” Tia repeated what she’s learned from her Papa, the adults surrounding her gasped in shock as they heard what she just said.
“Mercedes is fucked too!” She repeated again before giggling, proud of what she’s picked up from her Uncle Christian.
Tumblr media
The drivers outside the office looked at each other with widened eyes.
Meanwhile, the two team principals — both reaching the point of midlife crisis — offered her a look like they were both kicked like a dog, obviously guilty at what Tia had heard from the two of them a few days ago when they got into an argument.
“I can understand quarrelling,” Tilly said, obviously disappointed at the two. “I do. I even joke that you two are more married than I am to Toto— hell, even Geri jokes about it.”
“I can also understand swearing,” Tilly continued. “Say whatever you two would like— fuck you, fuck that shit, I hope you rot in hell asshole— you two are fucking adults. You’re fine! You can swear as much as you’d like and even lose respect of other people if you don’t use those words carefully.”
“But this whole petulant attitude—“ Tilly gestured at the two of them, “this whole ‘Oh fuck you, suck my dick’ or whatever the fuck is happening between the two of you? Keep that to yourselves— fuck the shit out of each other if it means that you’re getting that anger out! Hell, I’ll even let Toto get a cheating pass if it means that this unresolved issue is sorted out!”
Both Christian and Toto cringed at the suggestion.
“But the moment those kinds of behaviour or those kinds of words reach the ears of the kids? This is where you cross the fucking line,” Tilly scolded the two, the team principals jumped slightly on their seats.
“Guys! Have some decency to at least watch your words around them! They’re kids— you have your own kids, Christian— you know when to watch your words around them,” Tilly exclaimed exasperatedly, sighing before her eyes zeroed in at her husband, who froze in his seat.
She then continued with her lecture, “And those are your kids, Toto,” she spoke. “What if I get called into the fucking school because Tia— or god forbid all of them — learned to act so petulantly and curse her professors? We can’t set ourselves as examples of such behaviours! We’re parents to three kids! Hell, we have two grown children too but they know better.”
“I know,” Toto nodded solemnly and guiltily, biting his inner cheek.
“Well then why are we still having this conversation?” Tilly scoffed.
She sat on her chair behind the desk, sighing in exhaustion and massaging her head before she looked back up at them. “You two mean a lot to me— Toto, you’re my husband and the father to those kids. Christian— I trust you fully with the team and hell you’re Adelmo’s godfather—“
“I still don’t know why you did that,” Toto muttered before cowering under Tilly’s glare.
“And you two promised that you’d make these seasons enjoyable for them and that you’d teach these kids everything about the sports,” Tilly sighed. “All Tia could see was bad blood between the two of you— no matter how much you respect each other, all she can see is you two fighting and that you hate each other so much.”
“So how can I trust myself to bring them here,” Tilly asked, “and expect them to understand that you two are civilized enough when all they can see is hate? Or worse, shitty behaviours that involve insults and poor choices of words?”
Tilly sighed before gesturing at the entrance, “Sorry for venting— I know that I shouldn’t be taking the kids to the paddock if this was expected but I wanted to work closer and I can’t afford to miss out on their lives in the process.”
“If it’s alright, I’d like to process this and figure out my next steps,” Tilly murmured, not even watching her husband and her appointed CEO stand from their seats. “Please shut the door behind you. I just need some time to think.”
The two silently left the office, not even minding the gossiping drivers who stood at the halls as they shamefully walked out of the building.
They really did set a bad example for their kids— and Tilly made sure that they knew that.
Tilly’s children were Toto’s as well, so the fact that he had shown this behaviour to his children was anything but acceptable. He did have to make it up to Tilly. Almost ten years of being together and she had managed to put up with his bullshit.
But with the children in the mix? Toto was certain that she’d choose them over the kind of shit he had put her through.
God he really needed to make it up to her.
Tumblr media
The day ended and Tilly Wolff was still in her office, sending the children back to their vacation home in Monaco with Charles and Aimee earlier today while she remained in the office to do the last of her work.
A knock interrupted the silence of her place as she uttered a permission, the door swinging open. She already knew that it was her husband; whenever she’d fly to work on a race week, Toto never left the tracks without her.
“How are you feeling now?” His Austrian accent hovered over her working figure as he sat across her. Her eyes remained at the screen before she gave him a glance.
“A bit better,” Tilly murmured. “I’ve said what I had to say. And I’ve spoken to Tia about saying such things— not that she wouldn’t understand it easily; she’s a smart girl at her age.”
“That she is,” Toto chuckled quietly. “She’s always been smart and she continues to show that by saying things aloud.”
“Sometimes the things that she learns aren’t the kind that we like to hear,” Tilly replied.
Toto sighed, “Which is my mistake.”
Tilly paused from her work, now paying full attention to her husband as Toto spoke. “I’ve learned a lot just being a father to them— and being your partner. And it’s my fault that I haven’t even considered how my actions and words could possibly affect everything around me. I almost lost you because of it— and now Tia’s learning to say things that she shouldn’t say because I’m allowing her to witness those arguments with Christian.”
Tilly smiled gently, reaching out to tangle her fingers with larger ones as both their bands glimmered under the light of her office. “I can’t find myself to apologize for such knowing that it wouldn’t fix anything. But I can assure you that I’ll try and take control of the situation before it goes wrong for me and for the kids.”
“Thank you, bello,” Tilly spoke softly, pressing her lips against his knuckles before leaning forward to kiss him. “I appreciate it. It’s not for me— it’s for our children and I appreciate your efforts.”
“You’re a good father, Toto,” she reassured him. “You just need to teach them how to handle tough situations without cursing the other party.”
“—and that means no swearing in front of them, and no talking shit about Christian,” Tilly and Toto laughed before they both got ready to leave the facility.
Maybe Toto and Christian were too hard on each other, but little did they know it only took Tilly Wolff to set them straight and finally own up to their behaviour.
She was a delightful woman, indeed.

Mergers, acquisitions, stock, trade, liquidation. You couldn’t give a shit about any of it.
You’re not in the financial field at all, much to your parents’ disappointment. It’d brought you out of favor with them, brought your siblings closer to each other.
You usually don’t come to these things, but tonight it talk of selling the entire company. Leaving it all behind, cashing in the lotto, and fucking off. Your family had convinced you to come- despite your clear dislike for everything finance and business, you still hold stock and stake in the company. You were also going to get a pretty penny from your inheritance, so it would be wise to judge your potential buyer alongside your family.
You’re getting ready in your childhood bedroom, pacing the carpet as you put the finishing touches on your outfit. Your father had made it very clear: your job was to root out intention, then act accordingly. Regardless of whether you thought the Roys were worthy of the company or not is irrelevant at this moment. You need to be intimidating.
Intimidating, but also hot. Just for yourself.
A soft knock sounds at your door. “It’s me,” your cousin calls from the hall.
“Come in,” you call back.
She waltzes in, her blouse billowing behind her as she deposits herself on your bed. “Dad’s going to have an aneurysm.”
Even though you already know the answer, you ask, “Why?” You lean against your desk, facing her.
She snorts, knowing you’re trying to push her buttons. “He wants the company, dipshit. I still think all if this is to get on our nerves.”
“A chimp would do better as CEO than any of you,” you say, scoffing. What had started out as what you thought was joking was turning into something else.
“So why won’t you do it, then?” she asks, bitterly. “I don’t see why it has to be either you or someone out of the family entirely.”
“I’m not doing it because I don’t want to. My siblings also just… have no interest. We’re all off to bigger, better things.”
The two of you stare at each other until your father’s yelling draws you both from your trance.
“Up and at ’em,” he’s saying, pretty much to himself, once you’re downstairs. You brush imaginary dust from your sleeves as you make the awkward walk to the helipad. You and your brother share an exasperated look. Despite the fact that you’d been wedged apart over the years, you and your siblings share a lot of the same views and opinions.
“All this peacocking is fucking insane,” he mutters to you once you’re stopped a safe distance away from the pad.
“Just wait until you see them,” you mutter back.
Even though you weren’t involved in the business side of the company, you’d still been involved. You’d gone to dinners, conferences, galas. You were a bit of an outside source, as you held no real position in the company, but you knew you were vital.
At almost every event where someone with your last name was required to attend, there was also a Roy. You’d only ever seen them, never spoken to them
You hear the helicopter before you see it. Sunglasses perched on your nose, you look up. As it descends, your hair and jacket are blown vigorously back, and your hand goes to your scalp. The generated wind is aggressive, slicing over your skin, your clothing. The sound is now deafening, and you notice your sister clamping her hands over her ears. Your father gives her a look, something along the lines of don’t look weak, and your sister rolls her eyes in response, mouthing fuck you.
You have to suppress your smile. The helicopter’s landed, and people are starting to pile out.
“Logan, old friend,” your dad bellows jovially. While the two families had never met, never been close, you know your father and Logan Roy were actually the best of friends. You don’t know how they met. Your father spoke of Logan from as far back as undergrad university.
Your father steps forward, meeting Logan halfway as he leads the rest of his family towards yours. They envelope each other in a hug, and your brother snorts. He’s the only one who’s ever interacted with the Roys.
“It’s like he has a multiple personality disorder,” he’d told you the other day, talking about the enigma that was the head of the other family. “One second he’s laughing, then the minute Dad’s out the room, the guy’s raging over his kids or the people not doing enough work or whatever the fuck else is wrong with that stupid fucking company.”
He turns from your father to your mother, murmuring a warm greeting, then to the row of you, your sister, and your brother.
“Oh, look at the three of you! All grown and radiant,” he says heartily. So far, he doesn’t seem like the demon your younger brother had described him to be. But you know well enough that looks can be deceiving. He opens his arms out to you first, since you’re the eldest of the three. You give him an awkward hug, his hand clapping over your back in a friendly manner. “If only any of my children had the sense to get with you,” he mutters conspiratorially, earning a chuckle from you. He pats your shoulder, before moving on to your brother.
Logan’s wife is next. “Marcia,” she murmurs softly to you, taking you by the shoulders and air-kissing both your cheeks. You return the gesture as she does it, making sure to stay smiling. It’s all a flurry of names you’re sure you’re going to forget the second you need them. Connor, Gerri, Willa, Frank, Rhea. It’s really all just a bunch of letters bouncing around in your head.
Who you’re sure you will remember, though, are the siblings. The younger three. The important ones, your dad liked to call them.
As all of the ‘adults’ convened to chat amongst themselves, like they did when you were children, you and your sister are having a quiet conversation about your work. She’s in the middle of asking you to come out to her office to help you with something when you feel a hand settle on your shoulder. You turn, coming eye to eye with Kendall Roy.
“Hi,” he says carefully, small smile playing on his lips. “I don’t think we’ve met?”
“No, we haven’t,” you say back. “Y/N.” You offer him your hand to shake, like your father expects you to do with everyone.
“Kendall.”
“Yeah, I know,” you say awkwardly. He manages a laugh, withdrawing his hand, his eyes flitting over your face.
“I’m sorry it’s taken me this long, then, to, uh, put your name to your face.”
You’re not really sure what he means, but you don’t think you care that much.
“Move over, Kendall, you’re boring the shit out of her.” His brother comes over, bumping him with his hip. You have to stifle a laugh. “Roman.” You shake hands, offering him a polite smile. “He’s right, though. You’re a bit of a mystery to everyone.”
“Am I?” you ask, laughter seeping into your voice.
“Not to me.” Her voice is firm, clear. “I’m Shiv. I was at the conference you gave the Ethics presentation to. I know your work. My brothers are just stupid.”
You laugh for real this time. “Nice to meet you, Shiv. I’m familiar with your work, too. I’m just not so deep into the political sphere like you are.”
“I can help with that, you know,” she says, expression surprisingly soft. “I’ve been looking for someone that shares my opinions and… moral compass to work with. You need your rock, you know?”
The conglomerate of people slowly transitions inside. Roman and Kendall get roped into other conversations, your sister disappearing off to who knows where. You mill about in the dimly lit sitting room, watching everyone interact. Shiv’s still by your side.
“No offense, but I hate these things,” she says quietly, coming closer to you so you can hear.
You laugh lightly. “None taken.” You glance over at her to find that her eyes are already glued to you. You feel your face heat, her gaze flickering down your body before coming back up to your face. She has a sly smile on, but it’s quickly melting into one of real, soft emotion. You open your mouth to offer her something you’ll probably regret later, but are interrupted by your father clapping his hands together and waving everyone into the dining room. Instead, you give her an exasperated smile and follow the crowd.
Your father eyes you and your siblings as you all slip into your strategically chosen seats, making it so you’d all be surrounded by Roys. Your brother makes a face at you from the other side of the table. You ignore him, instead looking up at Shiv, who hovers by the chair at your left hand.
Almost shyly, she asks, “May I?”
“Please.”
A giddy smile spreads across her face as she sits, and you can’t help but mirror her expression. You look down into your plate, catching your sister’s gaze on you. Kendall takes the seat on your other side, Logan sitting directly across from you, right by your dad.
Roman and your brother are laughing over something as you get served the appetizer, your sister staring off into space while Connor talks at her rather than to her. Your mother speaks quietly with Marcia, and of course, your father and Logan are the loudest at the table, laughing and gesturing around.
Your cousin is on Kendall’s other side, overly-focused on her food. The conversation suddenly involves the entire table, Logan leaving forward. “What is it you do again, Y/N?”
You shrug lightly. “I work in media and risk analysis. Dabble a bit in economics.”
“So like Shiv?”
“Not really,” you and her say at the same time. You gesture with your fork, letting her continue.
“Our work certainly overlaps, and I’m glad it does,” she says, “but I’m more… political, she’s more… corporate.”
“If you dabbled in economics,” your cousin manages through gritted teeth, “we wouldn’t be here.”
“Neither would we if you did,” you retort calmly.
She scoffs. “I still don’t see why all of this is happening,” she says back, barely loud enough for everyone to hear. You look to your father, praying he’ll deal with it himself before she goes on some tirade, scaring off the buyer, but he makes no move. He simply glances at you, his gaze loaded.
Do it yourself.
You wait for a few moments, letting the tension strain the room. Maybe she’ll back off.
She doesn’t.
“The company is leaving family hands because of you, Y/N. It’s going to crash and burn because you refuse to fucking see what’s sitting in front of you.”
Logan’s lips press together into a thin line, and you know you have to recover. “I don’t want the company. Neither of my siblings want it. Don’t you think it’s a little telling you’re the only one lusting after it so loudly?”
“I don’t see what that has to say about me.”
“You want it, and you’re not getting it,” you say firmly. “You’re incompetent. The Roy name is not.”
Dinner is only silent for so much longer. Your brother, at his breaking point, asks loudly, “Why are you even here? You blew the Pierce deal. Fuck off.” Your father hisses something into your brother’s ear. He scoffs in response. “I’m sick of it, Dad. The three of us bust our asses to get this to go well for you and she gets to waltz in, do whatever the fuck she wants whenever the fuck she wants.” He quickly pushes back his chair from the table and makes his way out of the dining room.
Clearly, this is deeper than one stupid comment made at the dinner table. You throw a questioning glance at your sister. She gives a minute shake of her head. She doesn’t know.
Dramatically, your cousin follows your brother out. Roman is trying not to laugh, and all of a sudden, your father and Logan aren’t in the mood they were before.
You turn to Shiv, exasperated. She’s also stuffing a laugh down, and it’s contagious. “Is my juvenile family drama amusing to you?” you murmur to her questioningly, the soft clink of silverware and terse chatter filling the room.
“Yeah,” she says, nearly choking on a laugh. “This is so fucking stupid. How do you deal with it?”
“I never stay home.” You down the rest of the water in your glass.
“Hey, uh, Y/N,” Kendall begins, leaning towards you as you turn to face him. “I just wanted to say, I get how it feels.” He gestures vaguely around. “So if you want to, um, get some air after, I’d love to join you.”
You thank him sincerely, giving him a soft smile. Dessert finally comes out. You’re almost there. You turn back to Shiv, but she’s conversing with whoever’s on her other side, to your disappointment. You eat your cheesecake in silence, Roman catching your eye and giving you a wink. You didn’t know people actually did that, but he pulled it off nicely, you think.
When your father finally gets up, ushering everyone into the sitting room for drinks and chatter, you heave a sigh of relief. You trail behind the crowd, hoping to be able to slip away on your own.
You succeed. You sigh up at the high vaulted ceiling, padding towards the grand staircase up to your room.
“Hey, where’re you going?” comes a soft voice. You turn, Shiv, hurrying after you.
“Escaping,” you say jokingly, pausing on the stairs, letting her catch up to you.
“Can I come?”
“Yeah. You can.”
The sight of her sitting cross-legged on your bed does something to you. It sucks all the air from your body. But maybe that was just the sight of her.
"Your brother okay?" she asks, looking up at you.
"He'll be fine. Everyone's just a bit tense."
"Just so you know, your cousin's temper tantrum doesn't change anything."
"I'd hope it didn't."
"What would change things though," she tells you, "is whether you want to come on once we buy the company."
"Me?"
"Yes, you. I was serious when I was talking about how I need someone in my corner."
"What do you mean?"
"It's me. The company gets handed to me."
"Congratulations, Shiv. But really, I want nothing to do with it."
"I'd be running things. You'd just be my right hand woman. The very attractive right hand woman that I see every day."
You laugh, unable to suppress the grin splitting your face.
“My cousin’ll murder me,” you manage to say.
“So? Let her try. Not like you’ll go down or anything.” She smiles up at you. “I think that’s hot. You’re hot.”
Silence stretches between the two of you, both of you grinning at each other.
“You’re really pretty,” you breathe, believing she followed you for a reason.
“I’m glad you think so.” Her hands come to cup your jaw in the few instances it takes you to cross the room, slide onto your bed, and kiss her. “God, you’re so… so fucking gorgeous.”
“Yeah?” you ask against her lips, peppering gentle kisses onto them. “Stay the night.”
“I told everyone I went home,” she says, giggling.
Your hand flits to her hip, rubbing soothingly. Your kisses are slow, tender. You’re both enjoying yourselves. It feels so real. It feels like something more.
You slide off of her, off the bed, eliciting a whine from her pretty mouth. “Just locking the door, baby.”
You wake up, head buried in her chest. She’d borrowed some pajamas of yours, the shirt a soft cotton. Her breathing is light and airy, and it’s music to your ears. Her fingers are threaded in the hair at your scalp, her arm thrown over your back.
You drift in and out of consciousness until she wakes up, pressing kisses along your forehead. Shiv sits up, letting you stay settled in her lap. You press a hot kiss to her bare thigh, shorts hiked up her legs.
“You know,” she says, after a short while of silence, “Ken and Roman were drooling over you all night.”
You snort. “Were they?”
“I know them. They were. And here I am,” she says, satisfied with herself.
You let out an airy laugh. “Here you are.”
“I was drooling, too,” she admits.
“Can we stop talking about saliva?”
She pinches your ass, to which you don’t dignify with a reaction, instead smiling into her thigh. “I wanna keep seeing you.”
“I have to fly out to Italy for some work. Maybe I want you to come with me.”
“God, I love women.” Her hand cards through your hair. “Mind if I take a picture? I want to send it to my brothers.”
“Perv,” you mutter, but nod anyway. You smile at the camera from her thigh, pressing a searing kiss to the place where her leg meets her hip the moment she hits the button.
It captures her beautiful face in an ecstatic smile, yours in soft affection as you look up at her, not the camera.

watching my friends leave tumblr is really sad
you literally can't win
at this point the writer's strike should just be a cultural movement
like ppl are writing for FREE and you're complaining about turn out rate and shit
we have lives and some of us (HELL ALL OF US) have some form of mental illness, so we can't be fucking cogs all day and churn out fics.
writing is suppose to be therapeutic and writers want to share that with you to ease the tension of this hellscape we live in
but some of these readers and even fellow writers are taking it too far with the bullying
like its mean and nasty. you don't know what someone is going thru.
instead of asking for updates how about check and see if your writer is mentally stable to do so. that right there is a booster, to have someone say "are you okay?"
and then the whole accusations of favoring a certain member/character. if that person is my muse or safe space then of course imma write for them. most solo writers i see don't even talk bad about other people. its a SOLO account. think of it as a shrine blog of writing if that helps. they're not there to trash, just share their writing for other's who might also share the same muse.
then you have readers who can't separate fiction from reality. just because someone writes a character with irl people faceclaimed onto them doesnt mean they actually think that person would be or do those things irl. i'll be the first to say that i only gave my characters bts faces cuz thats who im attracted to and they're who i imagine would be casted to play my characters.
then IN THE YEAR OF 2023 we still have ppl making fun of their peers writing and also THE FACT THAT ENGLISH MIGHT NOT BE THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE? that's nasty asf. majority of us dont even speak 'proper' english as our first language no way. you only shooting yourself in the foot. don't act like you dont have beta readers... like what are yall on?
and anybody who gets on THAT BLOG behind anon is an opp. not just to the writing community but in how you interact with the world all together. yall don't know how to talk to people anymore? it may have started as a place for critique and accountability but no one is bringing receipts or critical thinking anymore. its mainly for drama and not rehabilitation. yall serious scare me in how we'd see the reality of social change applied to the real world. like i'd be more scared to let yall around the prisoners with minor offenses cuz yall act like its the end of the world and that change cant happen. yall give nobody room to change ignorant stances but ignore the real egregious shit because you honestly dont have the bandwidth to take on actual fascist views.
also the plagiarism has got to stop too. if you need writing resources just ask. but practice makes perfect. so you're gonna have to write yourself. you may not like your writers voice but you will feel shitty in the long run when you don't feel like its you putting those words on the paper. it literally just prolongs your inferiority. make something you're proud of and don't hurt your fellow writers. we went thru the process just like you. we earned it. and most of us aren't gatekeepers, we will help you.
like its really tuff being on here sometimes. cuz if you not being hounded by readers its your own community praying on your down fall.
we have to do better.

I really really loved the Asexual!Tav x Astarion fic. I felt so seen. I have read my good share of smut (there is no shame in a good smut fic, even as an ace) but this? This made me feel so many things. I loved it. As for the oneshot/headcanon ideas... Maybe Asexual!Tav wanting to find something sexy to wear for themselves (because damn right, ace people can wear sexy clothes and look amazing doing so) or just Tav and Astarion being silly together. But! Don't feel obligated to write about these! I just wanted you to know that this fic... I have never went to Ao3 so fast to read the last chapter.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much it warmed my heart to real this. It genuinely means a lot.
These are both great prompts which I would love to get too eventually. I don't have it in me to write a one-shot right now, but I will gladly spew some random Asexual!Tav and Astarion being silly together.
Astarion x AsexaulBard!Tav Masterlist
Tumblr media
Okay, I feel like I need to say it, but after Ace!Tav and Astarion are officially together the flirting only gets worse
Like before there was an agenda; Astarion was testing the waters of their interest while Tav was playing along, enjoying the attentions while not wanting to give a fully false impression
Now with the air clear they're free to flirt because it's just fun
There are no expectations except to make the other laugh or possibly blush
It drives the rest of the party insane
Astarion: If you're looking for inspiration my love, you can always write me a sonnet; something about my eyes shining like diamonds in the moonlight. Tav: Cliche and over done. Besides, how could I compare them to anything less than the brightest ruby illuminated by dragonfire. Astarion: Oh, do go on.
Also feel the need to clarify that this Tav grew up on the streets and so has come to the conclusion that stealing from the rich is okay
They have very willingly played to a crowd of merchants, allowing for Astarion to rob them blind
Astarion: *presents them with a necklace* Tav: Please don't tell me you spent money on this. Astarion: Not at all. I got it at a wonderful five finger discount. Tav: In that case, I accept.
If they ever attend a party and Ace!Tav isn't performing, you can find them near the buffet table
I've said before in previous headcanons, I don't think Astarion is one for dancing; he's become more open to it after he and Tav get together, but there is a difference between a private lesson with his love and being in public
This leads him to make the rounds gathering as much gossip as he can before reporting back to Tav
Meanwhile Tav, once starving bard/artist, will never turn down free food and will stay planted at the buffet table the entire night; plus you know the best gossip comes from the wait staff
Basically they're a couple of messy bitches who are obsessed with the tea and yes are, in fact, talking about you
That all being said, Tav is still the moral compass; help kids when you can, only steal from those who can afford it, avoid murder if possible etc, its the pettiness they indulge it
Certainly they're a theatrical couple, prone to distracting banter and petty theft, but it's plain enough to see how deeply they care about each other

I never realized how liberating writing fanfiction would be. I hadn’t written creatively in years. It’s been so long that I kind of forgot what it felt like. The childlike rush of pouring your heart out onto a blank page, not caring about the results as long as you were having fun. I’ve tried writing fanfic a couple of times, for different fandoms across the years, but never finished anything I was really happy with, nothing that I felt comfortable sharing with the world. But something just clicked for me this past week. I realized how much fun it was to stretch out my writing muscles, to get inside the heads of my favorite characters. I realized that it didn’t have to be perfect to be worthy of being shared and loved by others. I realized that I had so many stories inside myself - more than I thought possible.
But perhaps what I’m most in awe of is fanfic readers. The people who read my work and leave kudos and bookmarks and comments - one word comments, sweet comments, silly comments, paragraph-long comments. I love them all. I used to be afraid of leaving comments on AO3, afraid I wouldn’t have enough words, wouldn’t have the right words, to depict how I felt. But when I felt firsthand how much those comments meant to me I started leaving more and more of them, spreading a digital paper trail of love to all my favorite authors. More and more often I recognize the profile names and images in my comment section and think, Hey, I know you! Now I’m not just a guest on AO3, or a passive reader. I belong here.
I won’t lie and say I don’t miss drawing a bit, my previous creative outlet. There are plenty of drawings inside me too, itching to be realized. I really just don’t have the time for two time extensive hobbies, not when I need to balance school and practicing and little things like sleeping and eating and relaxing. I miss it, but not as much as I thought I would. There’s a level of investment to sharing a story online that feels…special. When I post my art, I get engagement, and it feels nice, but ultimately, most people are only spending about ten seconds looking at the work I spent eight hours on, if that. When someone reads my fics, we’ve now spent time together. You’ve lived inside my head for a bit, made it your home. It’s about feeling seen, I think. Writing makes me feel understood in a way visual art sometimes doesn’t. It makes me feel vulnerable in the same way performing music does, but less exposed too. It’s interesting to me.
The only downside, if you can call it that, is now that the writing bug has infected me, I’m finding it harder and harder to stop. I’ll have an idea and then suddenly five hours have flown by because I’m on a creative streak and I just want to write one more idea down, which turns into two, and so on and so forth. I dread stopping, because what if I forget something? What if I get into a writing block later? Suddenly I have people who want to read the things I write and I want to provide it, I really do, but I also have responsibilities. I say, as I write this, ignoring my audition tomorrow afternoon.
I still have a bit of embarrassment attached to fandom works. When I tell acquaintances that I like to draw or write, I rarely tell them I mean fanart and fanfiction. As if loving something that deeply, that sincerely, is inherently shameful in this age of irony and soulless remakes. Especially when my interests usually consist of media marketed towards children, nevermind the fact that it has more emotional maturity than most ‘adult’ works. But I’m trying to get better about it. A lot of my closest friends know about my hobbies, and some I’ve even let see my work. It’s terrifying but also giddying, seeing them like an art post or comment on a fic. After all, to reap the rewards of being loved, one must submit themselves to the mortifying ordeal of being known, or something like that.
I realized today that I’ve written over 30,000 words in the past two weeks about about two characters who don’t belong to me, but whom I’ve made my own.
And I’ve never felt happier

I've been on the writer's tag again.
Listen guys.
Nobody owes your fanfic anything. I know that you want validation and adoration and those are both completely normal things to want. But this obsessive demand for comments over kudos and reblogs over likes is A Problem.
I won't bore you with tales of yore where we literally punted our fiction into the world with no idea of how it was being perceived by others because the only way to know if anyone even glanced at it was by the incredibly inaccurate page counter on our shitty geocities page.
(But that was a thing and it's semi-relevant to my point.)
A lot of you are growing up in a era of social media and viral marketing. You are babies of the influencer age, raised on the myth that if you can just get enough attention you'll get famous for something. I don't mean 10 million followers on insta famous but famous in your specific sphere.
That will not happen for you.
Not because people aren't reblogging your shit or writing out loving comments but because it's a myth. The idea that if you shame, beg and cajole enough people into interacting with your creation you'll access some serotonin high and ascend to a greater state of being is also a myth.
Here's the truth:
Most writers do not know how the majority of their audience feels about their fics. Those very few novels that you see on booktok, X (former twitter) or wherever else you get your writing news represent an infinitesimal portion of stories written and books published.
Most writers do have writing buddies or trusted members of an inner circle that they share their writing with.
For most fandoms, fanfics are so plentiful it's like going into a mall sized grocery store that sells only apples and then demanding the customer review every apple they touch.
For those few fanfics that you see that have an outrageous number of comments there are three possible explanations: 1. that person is what we used to call a "Big Name Ficcer" and they have amassed a following through consistent production of whatever that fandom is into, 2. that is a fic so long you have to sign a waiver to start reading it and despite the fact it was started seven years ago its still getting updated, or 3. that person is writing a viral fic in a fandom that is presently on fire.
Your self worth and self esteem cannot be tied to writing and posting fanfiction. It might be a fun outlet or you might be looking for your viral moment, but either way the moment you start weighing your worth as an author or creator based on what a bunch of strangers on the internet think of you is the moment you give up on yourself.
Social media has brainwashed you into thinking that you must be recognized and rewarded for the things that you put onto the internet. Or maybe it hasn't brainwashed you, maybe you just want to get a comment because you worked super hard on something and you feel like if you can't even get one decent response then its all been wasted. (I.e. you've been brainwashed into the feeling that you need the validation of strangers for happiness purposes.)
So what are you going to do about this?
Get off the internet. I don't mean permanently. I don't even mean literally. I mean take yourself out of the spaces that reinforce the idea that you need validation from strangers to be happy. Stop going on the social media sites for a few days (or a few weeks). If you've got a friend in fandom that you share fics, headcanons, ideas or anything with start chatting with them about something you want to write. Invest in them, in what they're doing and their opinions and how they react to your creations.
Put your shit on the internet like you literally don't give a fuck about anyone's opinion. Explain nothing about your writing choices. Put warnings, no more than 5 tags and drop that shit into the world like a newborn giraffe. Then ignore it.
Teach yourself to seek validation from your accomplishments: write a slightly longer fic, write a fic in a different genre, write a fic in a different rating, write a fic in a different fandom.
Find an actual friend that you actually interact with whose opinion you know matters because you agree on the important stuff.
Stop begging strangers for compliments like a cartoon hobo shaking a cup for coins. You're better than that.

a bunch of Mission Impossible fic recs
hi, i'm sorry for conning so many people into this fandom. here's some reading material.
Easy Open, by helenish
“So you and Hunt are a package deal these days,” Bryson says. “Uh,” Benji says, jerking his head up from his computer, ballpoint in his mouth.
Ethan/Benji. Definitely the first thing you should read after watching the movies. This is my favorite kind of one-shot, the kind that manages to convey the weight of history like a 60k fic in such a compressed space. When I talk about using sex scenes to convey something about the characters, perfect example is the set dressing around the one here where the title drop happens. Way to say so fucking much about the characters through sheer implication.
in the details, by helenish
Ethan: We have an even bigger problem. Ilsa. Benji: Ilsa. Our Ilsa? —Mission: Impossible — Fallout (Paramount Pictures, 2018)
Ethan/Benji/Ilsa. This one is so fucking dense and amazing. I love the way Ethan is just so fucking in love with both of these people and keeps imagining them fucking and feels terrible about it, you just want Benji and Ilsa to put Ethan out of his misery, but ALSO this is hardcore physicality porn. The scene with Ilsa on Benji's shoulders is better than any sex scene I've read this year.
I'm With You, by fictionallemons
Luther's getting married again at a private resort on a tropical island. Only there's a mixup with the rooms and Benji and Ethan have to share. No big deal, right? One bed. Two friends. No problem. Ha.
Ethan/Benji. I keep rereading this one because it just has such intense longing and familiarity in it. The way it portrays Ethan and Benji as a unit, a foregone conclusion even they themselves haven't quite figured that out, is perfect. Also I love the way Ethan handles the bed situation, the low grade annoyance he has at the repeated question. Benji, get a clue, my man.
Someone New, by fictionallemons
After Fallout, Benji thinks Ethan and Ilsa are together and he only wants to be happy for them, even it kills him to see Ethan with someone else. He's got to try to get over Ethan. But some things are just impossible. Mutual jealousy, mutual pining, cute texting, and a happy ending, of course.
Ethan/Benji. LOOK, THE WAY TO MY HEART IS ETHAN BEING JEALOUS AND NOT HANDLING IT WELL. Also the fact this fic acknowledges Ethan's emotional growth from Fallout, chef's kiss. But really the moment when Ilsa's like "Seems we missed the show" and Ethan says "I wish we had" ETHAN OH MY GOD. Also the subtle way Benji is needling Ethan a little, subconsciously at least-- it's good!
it takes a lot (to know a man), by thistableforone
"So I just… want to remind myself that we're alright." He says it like that, with a general we that sounds more like a specific you. And because Ethan does know what it feels like, he doesn't question him any further. If Benji needs to spend time with him to feel better, he won't deny him. Takes place after Fallout. Ethan is recovering and Benji goes to live with him to help
Ethan/Benji. A longer one, hell yeah. This one truly wallows in the aftermath of Fallout, which is where my brain lives 90% of the time, so I appreciate it. Also Ilsa pointing out why the fuck did Luther give her that speech but not Benji-- finally someone said it. But really this fic is about Benji and it breaks my heart.
magnetic field being a little too strong, by oopshidaisy
“This is strictly recon,” Ethan says. It’s maybe the seventeenth time he’s said words to this effect since they arrived at the party. “We can’t do anything that’ll raise suspicion. Understand?” Post-Rogue Nation. Benji and Ethan go undercover and find themselves in one of those spy jams that only surprise kissing can solve.
Ethan/Benji. This is the one with the INCREDIBLE passage about Benji realizing why Ethan's never been slapped for pulling the fake kissing thing on missions. Also I love how... this feels like a date. To Ethan, this is a fun mission with his Benji, and it feels like it. Benji's voice here is pitch perfect, feels like its right out of Rogue Nation.
The Missionary Position, by matchsticks
Ethan and Benji have to pretend to be a married couple for a mission. Well, Ethan and Benji are already a married couple, but now they have to pretend to be pretending to be a married couple for a mission, and the rest of the team has to help them keep their secret. It'll definitely all work out fine. Probably. Hopefully.
Ethan/Benji. Listen. This one is hilarious.
THERE, there's some stuff to get you started, folks! and you can always hit up mine. I have periphery (in which everyone Benji works with is a little in love with him and Ethan just doesn't deal well), all i need is a certain trigger (in which Ilsa and Benji are in the Syndicate and Ethan trips into romancing them both), and the big AU you'll need a new name to survive this (in which Benji is Ethan's physical therapist and a lot of things start to change)
Looking over all this, it seems my favorite thing is when Ethan is just unhinged and Benji is unfortunately into that.

nightmares - xavier thorpe
requested: yes! Hii! I love your fics and I saw that your requests for Wednesday are open so I’d like to request something. Could I please ask for one with Xavier x f!reader in which reader comforts him after one of his nightmares about the monster? Maybe she goes to look for him and finds him in his art studio after he accidentally hurt himself with his paintings, so she patches him up, hugs him and reassures him that everything will be alright? I really felt bad for him and I believe his nightmares were overlooked, also I love reverse comfort sm. Take your time and have a good day! 💕
AN: hi! of course <3 i feel like that as well. i think it is pretty similar as to how wednesday has visions, except that his revolve more around the hyde itself and the fact that it is during the night/when he has to rest. thank you for your requesy and i hope you have an amazing day as well! <3
wordcount: 1,708 warnings: she/her pronouns for reader, nightmares, the hyde, scars/injuries, not platonic, but reader and xavier are not in an official relationship just yet, sad xavier
Xavier has been changing lately, and not for the better. Your worries are confirmed once you find him in his art studio, exhausted, wounded, and needing some attention.
Tumblr media
The second the bell rings, Xavier jumps up, shoving everything in his backpack before hurrying away. You let out a sigh, slowly packing your stuff before following the rest of your class out of the way. Xavier has been acting strange lately. He would send you every single excuse to not come over, insisting that he is tired or that he has to study. You do not blame him for this though; you noticed. You noticed how the bags under his eyes got darker, how it seemed like his energy got lower each day, and how he stopped talking to everyone around him. Not even Ajax could get a word out of him.
But just because you understood, it doesn't mean that you aren't worried. It has been weeks since you had your weekly hang-out with Xavier. You miss him, you miss how he used to be. You have been meaning to find him to ask him how he really is doing, yet he always seems to disappear the second you get close.
Your walk through Ophelia Hall was quiet. It seems like everyone else went to chill in the Quad or maybe even went to Jericho. Your mind is too full to go out and have fun, no matter how much you would want to. No one knows what Xavier is going through, yet everyone agrees that he needs help.
Time goes by as you sit in the Quad again, eating dinner with others. You see the faces of most of your friends, but one is missing. Has Xavier not shown up for dinner either? You grab an extra few containers of food, stuffing it in your tote bag before heading off to his dorm.
You knew that it has been rough for him to suddenly not have a roommate anymore. Rowan had been expelled for some weird reason, leaving Xavier alone in his room. You knock on the wooden door, the bag heavy on your shoulders.
Nothing.
No shuffling, no voices, nothing.
After going to his dorm, you check the Quad again, maybe you missed him. But, he still isn't there. You checked if he was at the Archery training field, but there is no sign of Xavier everywhere. You even entered the Nightshade library to see if he was hiding in there, but you were only met with an empty room.
Wait, what if he is in his art studio?
You sling the tote bag back over your shoulder, gripping your jacket tight as you exit through the Nevermore gates and into the woods.
Not a lot of people enter the woods that lie next to the school, but it just so happens to be Xavier his favorite place. He had turned an old shack into his own personal art studio, filled with paint, canvasses, easels, and sketches. It was his place, one that he didn't need to share with anyone. But lucky for you, he does share it with you.
The path slowly gets more narrow the closer you get to the shed. It is hidden in the middle of the woods. People that enter it, would not go nearly as far as where the shed is located. After pushing the bushes to the side, you see it. He has to be here.
You get closer and closer to the small, wooden building and you notice that the chains around the door have been unlocked. A-ha.
"Xavier?" You knock on the door. "I brought you food? I didn't see you at dinner, so-"
The door abruptly opens, revealing your friend. He quickly takes your hand, pulling you inside before closing the door behind you, locking it with yet another lock.
"Why are you here?"
"You weren't at dinner," you repeat. "I don't want my best friend to starve."
You hold up your white bag with a small smile. This has been the most that Xavier has talked to you in a while. You take some of the containers out of your bag.
"Thank you, but I'm not hungry."
You stop in your tracks, looking up at the tall boy as you furrow your eyebrows. Xavier, not hungry? That did not happen often. Especially considering he didn't eat at all today. You place the small container that you were holding on his table before letting out a sigh.
"Okay, but I also came here for something else. What happened?"
It is his turn to be confused now.
"You look like you haven't been sleeping, I have not seen you eat at breakfast, lunch or dinner, you don't talk to anyone as you always disappear."
He stays quiet, staring at a splotch of paint on the floor. He can't openly talk about his feelings. For as long as he can remember, he has hidden whatever problem he had, making sure that it wouldn't reach the masses of people that looked up to his father. What would he say if he knew that Xavier had problems?
You notice his silence as you step closer to him, yet still, make sure there is enough distance. You know about his struggles, even though he doesn't talk a lot about his father. His eyes are still fixated on the ground.
"All I want to say is that you don't have to tell me anything specific. All I would like to hear is if there is something going on, a simple yes or no. No specifics, no names, nothing. I'm just worried about you and I want you to know that it's okay to feel bad-"
That is all he needed to hear.
Those words are all it took for him to crumble, throwing himself in your arms as he pulls you close, his grip tight around your frame. You are fast to respond, wrapping your own arms around him as you run your hands up and down his back. His head is resting on your head as the rest of his body is shaking. You can even feel his chin trembling.
"Xavier?"
You slowly guide him to the big chair that rests in the corner of his studio, still holding him close. Once he sits, you slowly untangle yourself from him, though still holding on to his hands.
"Hey, you're fine. I'm here, okay?"
He doesn't dare look up, his eyes filled with tears and his hands still shaking. It hurts to see him like this. So sad and helpless, and you have no idea what you can do for him. On his neck are also scratches, looking red and irritated.
"You do not have to tell me anything, just... Just know that you can."
You hand him the containers of food. Xavier takes it, muttering a soft 'thank you' before slowly taking a bite of the pasta. You made sure to take everything that you know he loves.
"I can clean up those wounds for you," you offer, your hands already in your bag to grab your water bottle and napkin.
He only nods as he sits still, slowly taking bites of the food as you wipe away some of the blood from the scratches.
"I'm sorry."
You look at him, stopping your movements. He's sorry?
"I should have talked to you," he whispers. "I have been an asshole, and I should have just been normal and-"
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't blame yourself," you smile at him. "I have just been worried, that's all."
A tear rolls down his cheeks before he angrily wipes it away.
"The nightmares came back," he mumbles. "I haven't slept normally in days. It has been horrible and there is nothing I can do about it. And- and Kinbott told me to paint what my dreams were. Paint them to get them out of my head."
You nod understandingly, your hand resting on his knee.
"And I did. I drew that horrible thing-" he points to a canvas hidden in the back of the studio. "Over and over again. Some monster. And then, the second I wasn't looking, it came out of the painting. Scratched me good."
So not only has he been stuck in a literal nightmare, but he also has gotten attacked by whatever it was.
"You know what," you stand up, your hand reaching out to him. "Let's take the food, go to one of our dorms, and watch a movie. If you want."
It is the least you can do to try and cheer him up. He looks up at you, slightly confused. You are not yelling at him, blaming him for being upset, for ignoring you for days in a row. You... understand.
He closes the container, taking your hand with a smile before pushing himself up as well.
-
Luckily, no one had seen you as you sneaked behind Xavier. You were not supposed to be in their dorms, especially not at this time. But you didn't care. Xavier needs you.
You sit him down on the bed before placing the laptop down on his nightstand.
"You pick something, okay?"
Xavier smiles before nodding, quickly picking a movie as you open up some of the food containers, handing them to your friend. He had barely eaten today.
You sit down next to him, taking off your sweater before scooting closer to him. Xavier his mood has been improving rapidly already. He is not alone in this big, dark room anymore. He has you.
After half the movie, he finished his food, placing the empty containers on the floor before slowly wrapping his arm around you. You let out a giggle, moving a bit closer to him. You have been dancing around each other for a while now. It was pretty well known that you liked each other.
Another part of the movie passes as Xavier his eyes slowly start drooping. His tiredness is catching up to him, and being in a warm and comfortable bed surely helps in making him more tired. Awake one moment, asleep the next.
A smile is on your face once you see him sleeping. He deserves it. It has been a while. You press a kiss on his temple, snuggling closer to him as you pull the blanket over you both.
Hopefully, it helped him. Even if just a bit.

in no particular order --
(i would stay forever if you said) don't go | @coffeecatsme | T+ | 6k
The words echo in his head, unbidden. The words from another life, practically another universe, shoved inside the small walls of a gilded cage, hidden in a room in London with shuttered windows and locked doors. A boy’s voice Henry still remembers ten years later, when he doesn’t quite remember what he had for lunch the day before. A boy’s voice on a phone that understood him better than every member of his family, even an ocean, a continent, three thousand miles away. A boy’s voice that told him in no uncertain terms that it was okay if he wasn’t okay, that allowed him to pave a path until he was. To open a new shelter in New York City, Henry needs to interview a host of potential lawyers to hire. He doesn't expect one of them to be the boy that saved his life ten years ago.

When Alex first hooks up with Henry, he's expecting a fun one-night-stand and maybe the occasional booty call. He does not expect to get so completely pulled into Henry’s orbit that it forces him to reevaluate everything he thought he knew about his sexuality. And he's not sure if it makes it better, or way worse, that Henry is actually a professional at all this stuff — what are the odds that Alex would hook up with the one guy on campus who hosts his own radio show about sex? 'Sleeping With Henry' is about to gain one devoted listener.

“Nora ignorin’ ya?” a voice says from beside him, and Henry startles, turns to his left, is suddenly frozen. The man who’s slid into the seat next to him, silently, without Henry noticing, is quite possibly the most beautiful man Henry’s ever seen in his life. He’s got the widest smile, sweet dimples, soft brown skin and impossibly long eyelashes. He’s wearing a fucking Stetson, and Henry feels like the wind’s been knocked out of him. Or: Henry (lost, hopeless) meets Alex (bright, hopeful), in a bar in Texas.

everything's growing in our garden | @matherines | T+ | 7k
That night, in the safety of his hotel room on the outskirts of the Olympic Village, Henry couldn’t catch his breath. He coughed and coughed, feeling like he was choking on nothing, but there was a scratching sensation in his throat that he just couldn’t shake – until a single blue petal flew past his lips, landing in the porcelain bowl of the sink. After an hour of painstaking Googling, he learns that it’s a Texas bluebonnet. He also learns what the fact that he’s coughing up petals means – the beginning stages of Hanahaki Disease. Rare, but not unheard of, according to the NHS website he browses in an incognito tab. Common in royal bloodlines (thank you, inbreeding). "Only curable if the afflicted’s love is requited with a declaration," he reads, and slams his laptop closed with a bitter laugh, wet with tears. "A surgical procedure removing the afflicted’s capacity for love may be performed if the love remains unrequited. Otherwise, the condition is terminal." So, then. He has no chance.

Henry Fox wakes up with a toothache one morning, and has a lot of feelings about certain things for days afterwards.
while you were sleeping (I fell in love) | @kill8a | M | 3k
As their relationship progresses, Alex notices that Henry’s sleeping habits start to progress as well. Notably, more naps, less insomnia, and a knack for falling asleep at any hour of the day.
So I Will Weather The Storm | @sparklepocalypse | E | 9k
They’re in the air twenty minutes before the next report comes in, this time over their headsets. “Patient is located on the eastern side of Sgòr Gaoith. He reports a sudden snow squall came up, and he lost his footing and took a fall. He’s conscious and reports no major injuries, but he’s stuck on a ledge and can’t make it back to the trail. Patient is wearing a red jacket and a black knit cap and states his name is – ” there’s a burst of static over the radio. “Please repeat the patient’s name,” Henry says into the headset mic as Schlosser programs the mountain’s location into the GPS. There’s a bit more static, and then the dispatcher states, “Alexander Claremont-Diaz.” (Or, a movieverse canon divergent AU wherein Henry is in the RAF and Cakegate still takes place, but the PR campaign doesn't happen – and two months after Cakegate, Alex does something dumb on a mountain in Scotland.)
crawl | ironwords | E | 6k
“Well,” Alex says. He swallows, mouth dry. Closes his eyes, takes the hand not in Henry’s and runs it along his tummy, up and up to his bottom rib and then up over that as well. The skin is soft, but the bones under them are hard, firm under Alex’s palm; his fingers dance over the spaces and grooves, feeling along the edges of bone and dipping into the empty space between. Deep breath: in, out. In again, hold it for a few seconds, then out. Then: “I want to, like. Be in you.” Oh wow. Nice one, Alex. Awesome phrasing. Fucking great job.
'til the walls did crumble and | @ninzied | E | 5k
So much for using the wrong fork at dinner. He’s pretty sure this is a thousand times worse. Hundred-thousand? Nora could give him the exact number. Also, he’s pretty sure there’s still buttercream on his ass. (Or, Alex has his bisexual awakening in a bathroom at Buckingham Palace, and also finds leftover cake in Henry’s hair. The two things are not not related.)
Moon Bride (To Have and To Hold) | satinbirds | M | 7k
When the man is brought before him, it’s as if the whole world stops. Clad in delicate gossamer, his apparent frailty is accentuated by the sheer fabric. It is likely a cheap attempt to entice him, yet it only elicits displeasure from the king. He already wishes to dress this fragile figure in the veil of his people, cover him from invidious and lustful eyes.
It's Called Tact, Fuck-Rag! | @largepeachicedtea | E | 12k
Texas had been an odd choice, some might say. Henry thinks it's perfect. College is a time to go crazy, after all. (A Scream AU)
(mind the tags!)
Aftercare | @whimsymanaged | M | 2k
When Alex has an intense hookup without aftercare, he finds himself on his best friend Henry’s doorstep in desperate need of looking after.

that's all for now!! hoping to get some more free time this month to read once I finish up some wips! be kind to one another this holiday season, and happy reading! :D

Your presence is a gift
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Summary: After announcing your engagement to your boyfriend at Steve's birthday party, Eddie quite literally vanishes from your life. Just yours, though. You miss him terribly and when you run into him again two years later yet again at Steve's birthday party, you ask him for clarity.
CW/Disclaimer: A bit of angst with a happy ending I suppose?
Author's note: This fic came to life after seeing a silly text. I've put the image at the end. :)
Words: 4209
Tumblr media
Time flies when you’re having fun, right? That’s what they say. Well, time also flies when you’re not having fun. Unless you’re in an excruciatingly painful disaster, then it’ll feel like you can feel every second painfully ticking by. For you, it felt like a combination of both.
Every day, he was on your mind. Eddie Munson. Someone you used to consider one of your closest friends. Up until two years ago, you used to hang out several days a week, a little less once you got a boyfriend but you never thought it would change this drastically. To think you hadn’t seen his face in so long felt impossible to you.
The last time you had seen him had been at Steve’s birthday party two years ago. Since you were sitting on the same stool you sat back then, you couldn’t help but think of him. Honestly, the whole environment reminded you of him. After all, you spent many nights with him, Steve and others here. Playing games, watching movies, talking until the sun came peeking through the trees again. You watched absentmindedly as Steve busied himself with entertaining his guests, occasionally glancing at you with mild concern. You told him you were fine, he just didn’t buy it. Oh well.
You knew it had been quick when you announced your engagement, you had only been dating Trent for about… four months? But he went down on one knee and you were always bad at saying no. Trent insisted on sharing it at Steve’s birthday party. You didn’t exactly want to take the attention away from Steve, but Trent… Well, sometimes it was just easier to agree than not to. Steve had been shocked, but happy for you. Eddie had been… Eddie. And yet he had been nothing like him at all. From being the life of the party he had gone instantly silent, gazing into his glass that he never ended up finishing. He congratulated you eventually, after asking you if you loved him, Trent. And you told him yes. Because who would marry someone who they didn’t love, right? Right.
The year after that, Eddie hadn’t attended Steve’s birthday. Supposedly he was sick but you knew he was simply avoiding you. Steve’s face never held many secrets from you and you could tell that the reason he gave you wasn’t a real one. Your husband had been sitting next to you, indifferent to it all. He frankly found it a little annoying that you were still so hung up over Eddie no longer being your… friend? Was that what it was? It felt like you had lost much more than a friend.
And that was that. No sign of Eddie since. He canceled on your get togethers, even the group ones, always claimed he was busy with the band which, for some time, seemed like a valid reason considering they were doing pretty well nowadays. However, all of that belief went out the window when you discovered that he did in fact still meet up with his friends. With Steve. Just not with you. Steve didn’t want to meddle, told you that you two should probably talk but Eddie made it impossible. Even when Steve tried to create an ‘accidental run-in’ between you two, Eddie figured it out before you even could arrive and had already bolted.
You forced yourself to accept that Eddie, for whatever reason, had decided he didn’t want to see you anymore. Maybe he needed time… or something. You couldn’t fathom why, not even when Trent exclaimed that ‘that weirdo’ had probably been waiting to get into your pants and when he realized he couldn’t, he had no more interest in being your ‘friend’. That remark had probably resulted in the biggest fight between you and Trent. Things had felt different after. Though looking back on it, things had never felt good in the first place. It had all just felt… expected and how it should be.
Despite everything, despite Trent’s obvious annoyance, you still sent Eddie a wedding invite. You missed him, you missed your friend more than you thought you could ever miss him. Sometimes, when you had a little too much to drink, you wondered whether there had been more. What if Eddie in fact did have… a desire to get into your pants. What if it wasn’t just a sexual desire. What if Eddie…
It never went much further than that. Eddie being in love with you was such a foreign concept to your brain that you couldn’t even entertain the thought. Not after dealing with your one-sided feelings for him for years. Not after seeing him kiss and take home whoever he felt like over and over and never once looking in your direction. Surely he would have considered you an option if it had been like that.
So, you had invited your friend. Asked Steve whether Eddie had brought it up with him or not. To which Steve responded that Eddie no longer wanted to talk about you. Yet you couldn’t help but hold on to hope.
It drove Trent insane when you insisted on adding banana flavored ice cream to the dessert options. He told you no one liked banana ice cream because it was rank and that it didn’t even taste like banana. Of course, he figured out who in your social circle did like it. Trent had gotten angry about a lot of trivial things and somehow Eddie was often wedged into the subject. If you were honest, you hadn’t really known Trent all that well before you said yes to his proposal. It was as if the moment he knew he had you, he slowly started to change or rather, be more himself.
Eddie never came to the wedding. No one ordered banana ice cream for dessert.
“Y/N, refill?” Steve interrupted your thoughts. You blinked and quickly propped a smile on your face before meeting his gaze.
“Oh, yes, thank you,” you handed your glass to him and moments later he handed it back to you containing an orange-red liquid. You gazed at it for a moment before addressing him. “Sex on the beach?”
Steve smirked. “That’s the one.” His hand squeezed your shoulder kindly before he joined the others again. He knew it was futile to ask if you wanted to join them, knew you sometimes preferred to just listen along from a distance far enough where you wouldn’t be expected to engage.
You never could have expected that about an hour later, you would be sharing the balcony space with no other than Eddie Munson. In silence. You went there for some fresh air, he went there to pollute it with his smoke filled exhales. Neither of you acknowledged the other. When you heard the door open you hadn’t even turned around. You had been there a while, so lost in thought that you barely registered it. It hadn’t even occurred to you that he was at the party, that’s how long you had been there. You had never seen him arrive.
However, you didn’t even have to look as much in his direction to know it was him. It was the mix of Old Spice, cigarettes and mint and something entirely Eddie that gave it away. A combination of scents that had quickly become your favorite when you first started to hang out with him. You felt it when he rested his arms on the railing just like you were. You wondered if his heartbeat felt as deafening to him as yours did to you. He could have said something. After everything that you tried, it felt painful to be ignored like that even when you were right next to him. As you were working up the courage to say something, your brain decided to take a plunge into your memory and skip all the polite small talk, instead going for the one thing that had been bothering you for a long time now.
“Why didn’t you come to the wedding?”
Eddie took the slowest drag of his cigarette mankind had ever taken, sighed and lazily inspected the ashes while he flicked them off into the wind. You still weren’t looking at him when he shrugged indifferently.
“Your invitation wasn’t really an invitation.”
An overwhelming surge of emotions clutched and clawed at your chest, begging to be let in or let out, it was hard to tell. You had missed his voice so much. It took you a moment to realize that what he said made no sense at all.
“What do you mean?” Slowly, you dared to look in his direction from the corner of your eye. He was still focused on his cigarette, watching it burn.
“Well,” Eddie started to cite it perfectly, as if he had just held your invite two seconds ago and it was still at the forefront of his mind. “Your presence itself is a gift. We don’t want you to bring any gifts to the wedding.”
For a moment you could only stare at him. Surely he didn’t mean…
“You can’t be serious.”
Eddie’s eyes followed the railing until they landed on your hands and the sublest frown etched into his forehead when he couldn’t spot a wedding ring, or any ring for that matter, on your fingers. Perhaps you were scared of losing it or something. Where was Trent anyway?
“It said I am a gift and to not bring gifts. It’s simple math.”
The indifference in his voice ignites a burning frustration in you. How could he act so casually about this when you had in fact cried (of course not in the presence of Trent) over his absence? How could he act like your years of friendship meant nothing to him, from one day to the other? Eddie, who always fantasized out loud about how you’d still get drunk enough together to think dancing on rooftops was a good idea at the age of 85.
“Everyone got that invitation and they were there,” you gritted out.
Another shrug.
“I’m sorry about that. Maybe they didn’t get it.”
“No, you didn’t get it,” you retorted, your frustration becoming more difficult to contain and be limited to just your thoughts.
“No, Y/N, you didn’t get it. You still don’t,” he mumbled.
You didn’t get it?! Your body was fully turned to him now and Eddie still refused to look at you. It drove you insane.
“Then please, explain to me why you ditched one of your best friends at her wedding after refusing to meet up with her anymore out of the fucking blue?”
“Oh you really don’t think there was something specific that went down that could have possibly caused all of this?” Eddie bit back, his eyes finally meeting yours. You were a little taken aback by the blazing fire they held, though. The hurt within them. As if all of this had somehow been your fault.
“Am I supposed to believe that you were so opposed to the idea of me being happy that you decided you no longer wanted to be anywhere near me, ever again? Is that it? Was it the engagement?”
“Yes. I couldn’t bear watching you throw away the life you had to get with some selfish prick that couldn’t even be bothered to see if you were okay when you tripped because ‘you should watch where you walk’. Who was so fucking different from you he kept wanting to change you, push you into boxes you weren’t. So yes when I heard you were willingly getting into that boat with him forever, I stepped back. What of it?”
He stood facing you directly now, arms crossed tightly over his chest, stance wide. His nostrils flared as he breathed out heavily, eyes wide as saucers as he tried to contain what seemed to be anger, built up frustration.
“Which life?! The one where I just had to miserably watch how everyone around me got settled and slowly slipped into a domestic-white-pickett-fence-with-two-children kind of life?”
“You had us! You had me!” Eddie unknowingly raised his voice, his hands pushed tightly against his chest to stop them from shaking.
“I had friends, yes! Such a crime for me to want something more, huh? Don’t get me wrong, Eddie, but it was only a matter of time before one of those bimbos you hooked up with after gigs became a long-term partner. I’m sure you’ve…” You vaguely gestured at him, his hands, something, because surely he had a great girlfriend by now. Someone that fit him like you never would.
Eddie shook his head vigorously, his wild hair following the movement. He revealed his hands, pointing at his empty ring finger.
“See? Nothing. I’m not like you. I don’t just settle for whoever.”
You scoffed and revealed your hands.
“No you’re not like me indeed. I got divorced. Guess you win again, congrats.”
For the first time, his hostility faded a little. It was almost as if he wanted to approach you but instead he crossed his arms again, not meeting your eyes.
“Sorry about that, I guess. I didn’t know. Steve never told me.”
“Steve told me you didn’t want to talk about me, so. Not surprised that he didn’t.”
Eddie groaned impatiently, his hands flying up to his hair to run through as he looked inside, where he spotted Steve quickly turning his head away. Fucker.
“He knows why I didn’t want to talk about you though. He should have, I could have— But now instead I’ve been— Fuck!”
“You’re… not making a lot of sense right now, bud,” you remarked dryly.
Another groan, though a bit more whiny.
“Don’t fucking— I’m not your bud alright?”
You rolled your eyes, fed up with him by now. It was as if he had taken four knives to stab you simultaneously with, twisting them occasionally.
“You’re right. You’re nothing to me, apparently. As you wish.”
Both of you were so lost in your own world that you didn’t even notice how Steve had closed off the view to the balcony doors by drawing the curtains to prevent anyone else from coming up. Neither had you noticed that he had in fact locked the doors as well.
“You’re a real bitch, you know that?” Eddie seethed through his teeth, taking a small step closer towards you with his eyes blazing. It was the last straw you needed after this agonizing build up of two years. You had had enough.
“Oh I’m a bitch?! You literally gave me the cold fucking shoulder from one day to the next, ignored all my calls, all my messages, you literally pretended like I didn’t fucking exist, Eddie! Why would you do something like that, knowing how much it would hurt me? Call me a bitch all you want, but you’re heartless.”
“I’ve been fucking heartless since the goddamn day you stole it, Y/N.”
What? Stunned, you looked up at him to witness the panic that flared up in his eyes and he quickly made a beeline towards the balcony doors.
“Eddie, wait—”
Eddie shook his head and tried to pry the door open with all his might. He was desperate to get away from you as far as possible.
“Why the fuck can’t I— Steve. Steve! Open the goddamn thing now!”
It didn’t take long for Steve to appear when Eddie started banging loudly on the window. He pulled the curtains around his head, making it look like it was floating amidst the black curtains and promptly shook his head.
“No. Fix it, Munson. Until then, enjoy your stay on the balcony,” Steve told him through the window, right before disappearing again.
“Fuck!”
He kicked against a heavy plant pot for good measure, causing him to swear some more before he meekly faced you again. You had quietly been following the whole ordeal and were still struggling to find the words to respond to any of it.
“So… What was that about me stealing your heart?” you asked softly and you had half the mind to be amused by the expression Eddie had on his face. There was no world where you wouldn’t find him and his panicky expressions at least slightly adorable.
“It sounds even more ridiculous when you say it,” Eddie sighed, slumping down against the door until he sat on the floor.
“Since when?”
“Since forever, man. How could I not?” He gestured at you as if he hated to admit it, arm dropping back down a little too harsh causing him to curse softly.
“How?”
“What do you mean how? It just happens, and I’m not gonna apologize for how I feel about y—”
“No, I mean,” you interrupted him, “you were always… You never gave me the idea that you even considered me that way.”
Eddie frowned and rested his head against the door as he let go of a long sigh.
“I literally said you were like Arwen to me. And that Aragorn was my favorite.” His pout was a little childlike, as if it had been something that had bothered him for years on end. In fact, it had. You groaned in disbelief.
“I hadn’t read it by then! You wouldn’t tell me why you thought I was like Arwen and told me to just read the book. Which I never did because I was always hanging with you doing other stuff in my free time. And once I did have the time, you were always hooking up with random girls so I didn’t really feel like it anymore.”
“Why would you not want to read Lord of the Rings because I was making out with random chicks?” he asked, clear confusion on his face. He almost looked a little insulted.
“Because I was jealous, you idiot! I wasn’t gonna read a thick book that I was going to read for you when you were busy exploring other people’s throats.”
“I’m afraid I’m not following, Y/N, what do you mean you were jealous? You always shot me those god awful finger guns with a huge grin whenever I went backstage with one of them.”
“Oh, was I supposed to pull them back by their hair and say something like ‘He’s mine, you bimbo!’ and stick my tongue down your throat instead?” you asked him with a dead panned expression, causing him to chuckle unexpectedly.
“Uh, yeah?! That’s exactly how I imagined it would go, but instead you were all supportive and nice about it so I figured you didn’t give two shits. I even tried two on one night and… nothing! Not even a jealous eyebrow twitch that I know you can do, the way you do when someone gets the best part of a cake with the extra chocolates on it. I was desperate, Y/N.”
You debated sitting across from him but figured the door would be more comfortable against your back, so instead you hesitantly sat down next to him. Eddie didn’t seem to mind, to your relief.
“Ever thought of just… I don’t know, walking up to me and saying you liked me or something?” you asked with a quip of your brow and a soft smile.
“Uh, right back at you.” Eddie rolled his eyes, though he wore the hint of a smile on his face.
“No but, seriously. You kissed random girls during your shows. All you had to do was pick me instead, no?”
Eddie shook his head.
“With them it didn’t matter. With you… if you rejected me, you’d break my heart.”
The silence settled between you again. Heavy, yet not uncomfortable. Eddie exhaled slowly, his shoulder touching yours so light you could have imagined it.
“And then suddenly you introduced Trent to us. I thought, this prick isn’t gonna last a month. You and him? Nah, not in a million years. But then he did. And another, and another, and another. And then… you were engaged. I was convinced it was all just a horrible nightmare. An awful trick played on me. But I just had to accept that I was some random side character in your life and that I had wasted my chance to become anything more.”
He played with the frayed ends of one of the holes in his jeans and exhaled shakily, his fingers trembling slightly.
“It’s why I asked if you loved him, you know? I thought… maybe. But you said yes, so I had to back away. I wasn’t going to act fair towards you if I didn’t. I— I was a mess, ask Steve. He got fed up with me so many times but he- he’s a good one, y’know. Of course you know. So yeah, I couldn’t. I just couldn’t. The only reason I’m even here is because Steve promised that you weren’t gonna come. And then suddenly…”
“Here I was,” you finished for him. He nodded.
“There you were.” A sigh, a shy glance in your direction. “As beautiful as ever, if not more. I was so shocked to see you that I forgot to leave.”
“I’m glad you didn’t,” you told him softly. “I hope you never will.”
You reached for his trembling fingers and covered them with your own, slowly pushing them apart. Eddie swallowed audibly, his eyes flicking from your hands to your face.
“I’ve missed you,” he confessed in a whisper, his eyes wide and sincere. His thumb softly caressed your pinky.
“I’ve missed you too.” A beat of silence. “I put banana ice cream on the menu, you know.”
Eddie turned his head and smiled in disbelief. “You did?”
“Mhm,” you chuckled softly. “No one ordered.”
“What a waste. I would’ve eaten it all.”
You shared a smile and rested your heads against one another.
“Sorry I wasn’t there,” he said eventually. You shrugged.
“It’s fine, you didn’t miss anything anyway. Apart from the ice cream, of course.”
“You looked beautiful. Steve has— I’m sure you know but, he had the photo of you and him framed. He wanted to put it up but wanted to wait until he had more things to put up so he could arrange it all at once. But I guess… it’s a bit weird now.”
Steve. Always such a sweetheart.
“I didn’t know, actually. But yeah, a little weird I guess.”
You both listened to the music coming from inside, your fingers gently drumming along. Eddie’s head too, you noticed vaguely as he moved against your head. At least, that’s what you assumed until you felt his lips on your cheek. You could feel he was holding onto his breath, waiting for your reaction. Hesitantly, he kissed your cheek again, his trembling lips giving away how nervous he was. You turned your head slowly. His breath hitched a little when your lips brushed his, unsure whether to move away or not. Gently, you added the lightest pressure onto his lips with your own and pressed them together into a kiss. You didn’t care that his fingers squished yours a little painfully as he tightly grasped his knee in response. He leaned back shakily, just enough to break apart only so he could press your lips together again. Sweeter, more intentional, more mutual. He shifted slightly, his leg resting on your crossed legged ones a little as his other hand came up to cup your cheek, deepening the kiss he had desired to give you for years. Your lips danced together without a fight for dominance, instead it was all about unity, in the perfect alignment of your faces together. The softest giggle escaped his lips when his nose bumped into yours as you changed angles. He gasped when your fingers threaded into his hair.
The both of you were so lost in the kiss that you didn’t notice Steve peeking through the curtains, needing a moment to discover you were in fact making out against the door. You didn’t notice him closing them again either, however…
“YES!! FINALLY!”
Eddie bumped his head against the door in shock and you quickly broke apart, but only after gazing into each other’s eyes lazily with the dopiest smiles on your faces.
“Was that Steve?” you asked.
“Sure was. Steve!” Eddie knocked on the door before getting up and extending his hand to help you as well. Steve was quick to show up in front of the balcony doors again and removed the curtains before opening them.
“Shit, you saw me didn’t you?” Steve asked guiltily, bummed that he interrupted your moment. Eddie snorted and shook his head.
“No dude, it was your high pitched scream that gave us a near heart attack.”
“Oh. Well. I’m glad you guys uh… made up. Sorry for locking you out, but I had to do something. You can come back in now.”
As Steve stepped aside, Eddie chuckled and reached for the black curtains to pull them back closed again.
“Thank you, but uhm, maybe later? We’ve got some catching up to do.”
Eddie grinned down at you as he closed the balcony doors again and wasted no second to wrap his arms around your waist. You beamed up at him, eyes sparkling with delight.
“Where were we, sweetheart?”

Here's the image I mentioned earlier. Funny how a whole short fic can come out of it, right? :)

Hey I live you stories. You are the only one giving me the Eihtric that I need. I had an idea that this could be during Skmd since Sihtric is gone scouting and stuff all the time when he comes back his wife is sad and thinks he doesn't want her anymore since their kids are gone and they have aged. I need regular domestic life since they have us nothing.
Warnings: mention of violence, child death, and overall my bad comedy attempt?
Pairing: Sihtric x you (f)
Summary: Sihtric was scouting the lands day and night during times of peace, making you wonder why. Maybe he simply didn't want to be around you anymore, and maybe your marriage was perhaps falling apart.
Word count: 2.6k
Note: first of all: thank you so much!!! and second; you didn't give me a whooole lot to work with, so I just followed my trail of thoughts! And honestly? I need this to be a bonus episode. also, fun fact: I had written 5 pages before I wrote this one, but the other fic was incredibly heavy and depressing and I wanted to share something lighter. The other one is not finished, and never will be I guess, but I may post it at some point if I feel the need for sadness :)

'I think he is still stuck, lord.'
****************
Sihtric had been quietly watching you for minutes, unbeknownst to you, while he was seated at the wooden diner table, where he took place after he had returned from yet another day of scouting the lands. He watched your back as you were preparing dinner, softly smiling at your figure and your movements as you did so, which he loved so much. But Sihtric's faint smile quickly made place for his signature brooding look, when he got a glimpse of your face. Your beautiful face, Sihtric thought, was taunted by a certain sadness and it had been so for days already. But you never mentioned anything, so Sihtric felt it was best to give you some space. He worried that you were mourning again, and rightfully if so.
Shortly after Uhtred had reclaimed Bebbanburg, thus bringing peace to the surrounding lands, Sihtric became the Lord of Dunholm on his own accord. You and your children had moved with your beloved husband to Dunholm, where you had lived happily for some years. Until one day Death arrived, disguised as a horrible sickness, taking your children quietly in the night after weeks of struggle. It had been a grave loss, leaving you and Sihtric heartbroken for years. Slowly but surely you both managed to move on and tried to find your way in life again. You had mainly good days now, but Sihtric also knew you still had bad days. And as the death day of your children was approaching, he could understand your sadness. However, it had been many years ago now, and the past few years you had been dealing well around this time of the year. So he feared something else might be at play, but he didn't know what.
Sihtric sighed as he looked at you, licking his lips and brushing one hand through his shoulder length loose, dark and wavy hair before he got up. He walked over to you, but took a step back again, doubting if he should approach you the way he wanted to. Sihtric wanted nothing more than to pull you in his arms, pick you up and spin you around, making you giggle like you always would when he did so. But he felt it was wrong of him to do today, he did not want you to think he was blind to your sadness. He stepped closer again, and another two steps back, almost anxiously biting his lip before his love for you took over, forcing his feet closer to you and causing him to sneak his arms around your waist from behind. He did it gently, not wanting to startle you, and when he felt you allowed his touch he leaned his cheek against your temple.
'My love,' Sihtric said. His voice was soft, smooth and deep, as usual, still making your heart flutter whenever you heard his accent. 'What troubles you?'
You sighed quietly, closing your eyes and just enjoying his embrace for a moment before you turned around and tried to speak.
'D-do you not love me anymore?' you looked up at him with big, sad and frightened eyes.
Sihtric looked down at you in his arms, confusion and worry in his duo coloured eyes as a frown slowly appeared.
'What makes you ask such a thing?'
'Do I… do I bore you?' you stammered, worried, 'have I not aged to your liking? Can I not please you anymore? H-have you… h-have y-you found some-someone else?'
Sihtric's eyes darted over your face, shaking his head faster with each question you asked.
'No,' he said calmly yet concerned, 'my love, never. No.' He paused, trying to find the right words while he took your face in his hands. 'You could never bore me,' he whispered, 'for no one is so full of life as you, and no one could ever make me laugh like you do. And no one is as beautiful as you, no one, my love. No one. I swear it,' Sihtric touched his Mjölnir pendant quickly, 'and if you fear your beauty is leaving you as age comes, then what on earth is to become of me, sweetling? I already am an ugly bastard now, imagine me in 10 years,' he smiled softly and his heart skipped a beat when he saw you chuckle lightly.
'Sihtric,' you whispered with a soft smile, 'you become even more handsome with age, don't be foolish,' you rolled your eyes at the stunning man you had married, 'in case you don't believe me, go outside, and see how every woman in Dunholm looks over her shoulder as you walk by, Lord,' you smiled shyly.
'Is that so, my love?' Sihtric smiled cheekily, 'well, then perhaps, as a Lord, should I make a public announcement? Should I gather all the women at the town's square?' He tilted his head playfully to the side as he pulled you closer. 'And make it known to every lady in Dunholm how well my wife pleases me?' he gave you a sly smile, 'should I tell them that my beautiful wife pleases me so well that, ever since I've met her, I never had any reason nor desire to let my eyes or my thoughts wander to another?'
You smiled shyly and directed your eyes away from his and down to his broad chest, looking at the hammer pendant which rested upon his dark tunic, remembering how the gods had truly favoured you for they had given you Sihtric.
'No,' you giggled softly.
'No?' Sihtric's tone became mischievous as he nuzzled your nose lovingly, 'then perhaps, instead of a boring talk, maybe should we demonstrate it?'
'Sihtric!' you laughed and slapped his chest.
'My love,' Sihtric chuckled still, taking your hands in his and placing them onto his chest, on his heart, and he became serious again, 'what makes you think such foolish thoughts?'
'You are just barely home anymore,' you admitted, 'all you do these days is go out and scout the lands, and some nights you don't even come home. Only to show up the next day with a few bruises on your face. And… you braid your hair too, when there is no battle. I don't know where you go, what you do or where you sleep. Or with… with whom you share a bed,' you said quietly.
'You are the only one I share a bed with, I swear it,' he touched his pendant again, 'and you are the only one I wish to share a bed with. But it is true,' Sihtric continued, 'I am away from home a lot. And I apologise for that, I never meant to give you any doubt about my love for you. It is just that…' Sihtric paused and looked up, carefully considering his words for once, 'I- I am struggling.'
'Why? With what?' you asked, your fingers curling around the neck of his tunic to draw him in, 'tell me.'
'I scout the lands so often because I hope to find trouble,' he placed his hands on your waist as he admitted his reasoning.
'Trouble? I don't understand. I-I thought the lands are at peace. What kind of trouble?'
'Any kind,' he scoffed lightly, knowing how foolish he was sounding right now, 'but I mainly hope to find someone to fight. Anyone. I picked a fight with a farmer near Bebbanburg last week.'
'What?'
'I miss the battles, my love,' he sighed, resting his forehead against yours as he continued, 'yes, the lands are at peace. And yes, it is what I always fought for. But now… I don't know what to do with myself. I miss the bloodshed, the adrenaline, the victory. I miss the sound of swords and axe blades crashing on wooden shields. I miss the feeling of swinging an axe into a man's skull and…' Sihtric looked up at you as he spoke, and stopped immediately when he saw your grimace, 'I'm sorry,' he whispered, feeling awkward for oversharing.
'No, I understand,' you cupped his cheeks, 'I do, my love. I know how eager you always were to fight. And it was a life you were simply used to and were raised to love. But there have to be other ways to deal with this than picking fights with… with farmers?'
'I am not proud of it either,' he rolled his eyes before he looked at you again, 'but that is the reason I sometimes come home with bruises.'
'And what is the reason you stay out all night?'
Sihtric stared at you, intensely, and he shrugged slightly. Like a little boy who wouldn't admit he drank all of dad's ale.
'Sihtric,' you said sternly, raising an eyebrow, 'where do you sleep if not in our bed?'
'In the woods,' he mumbled.
'What?'
'In the woods,' he said louder, ashamed.
'My dearest,' you scoffed, 'why, by the gods, do you sleep in the woods?'
'Because that was the way we slept when we'd battle. Sometimes in barns too.'
'Gods,' you sighed, 'but you sleep alone then I hope?'
'Sometimes,' he mumbled again, but you heard him loud and clear.
'Sometimes?' you snapped, 'then who is it who sleeps with you sometimes?'
'Finan,' Sihtric said, looking guilty for ratting out his best friend.
'Finan?' you stared at Sihtric, the gorgeous but absolute fool of a man you had married, 'Finan sleeps outside in the woods or in barns with you? And what else? He watches you pick fights? He riles you up? Making you do stupid things?'
'No, we pick fights together.'
'Oh,' you feigned to be impressed, 'two previous warriors picking fights around peaceful lands with poor farmers.'
'We are still warriors!' Sihtric said, offended, 'and we don't always pick fights with farmers!'
'Of course not, how silly of me, my dear, who else do you fight on your little play pretend stake outs?'
Sihtric mumbled something inaudible.
'Sihtric?' you said sternly again, 'speak up.'
'I said sometimes we just fight each other.'
You looked at him for a while, at a complete loss for words.
'Does Ingrith know?'
'No,' Sihtric looked down at his feet.
'Does Uhtred know you and Finan are riling up people in peaceful lands?'
'No,' he mumbled.
'Well then I think it is time we visit Bebbanburg, don't you agree, lord?'
******************
Sihtric had been acting like a man child the entire journey to Bebbanburg. He dragged his feet into the fortress behind you and followed you up to Uhtred's hall.
Uhtred's face lit up when he saw you, and he came running to give you a hug.
'Is Sihtric treating you well?' he smiled.
'Well enough,' you winked.
'You look well, that makes me happy,' Uhtred said ever so kindly.
When you glanced over Uhtred's shoulder you saw Finan, who smiled at you as he always did, but you gave a mean stare to which he frowned.
'Sihtric,' Uhtred said sternly when he saw your husband trying to hide behind you, 'what is it I hear of a rumour that a man with your description has been taunting a farmer on my land?'
'My, of what do you speak? It surely cannot be,' you gasped overdramatically and looked at Sihtric, who wouldn't look anyone in the eye but Finan. And Finan, by hearing the tone in your voice, knew you were there for a reason he'd rather not find out. So he quietly grabbed his cup of ale and snuck away from the table when you and Uhtred had your back turned to him.
'I do not know what you speak of, lord,' Sihtric lied, his eyes darting between you, Uhtred and his own feet. But he felt pressured, and he could not lie to Uhtred and neither to you.
'Sihtric?' Uhtred said threateningly.
'It was Finan, lord!' Sihtric said quickly, which caused a loud thump behind you. You and Uhtred turned around to see Finan crouched down behind the table, as he had tried to silently sneak away but had bumped into a chair.
'What of my husband?' Ingrith asked, having heard Sihtric as she had walked in.
'Ingrith,' you smiled, and greeted her with a hug.
'Finan taunted the farmer?' Uhtred frowned and looked back at Sihtric.
'No! No, he did not!' the Irish man was quick to defend himself.
'He what?' Ingrith asked, confused.
'Sihtric?' Uhtred said again, 'tell me the truth, now!'
'Finan, lord,' Sihtric spoke faster than he could think, 'we scout the lands together often and one evening we had too much to drink and we found a farmer, who- who… we just wanted to fight. We wanted to battle so we, I… I said I had come to reclaim land and his… his chickens.'
'And his baby goat!' Finan said.
'And his baby goat, yes,' Sihtric admitted, 'and so we waited… you know, with- with his chickens.'
'Aye, and the baby goat.'
'And the baby goat, yes. We waited just outside his fence until he would fight us. But- but he didn't. Well, not really, not that I remember.'
'Lord,' Finan said, 'the farmer had hit Sihtric over the head with a pitchfork. So I pushed the farmer into the pig's shed, and I locked it.'
'I think he is still stuck, lord,' Sihtric said.
'Aye, the poor bastard might be.'
'What happened to the animals?' Uhtred asked.
Sihtric and Finan looked at each other. Sihtric opened his mouth to speak while Finan gave him a warning and shook his head.
'Finan took the chickens, lord,' Sihtric said quickly, 'I have the baby goat in Dunholm.'
'Ya bastard!' Finan yelled.
'The chickens?' Ingrith asked, 'the chickens you said you had rescued?'
'Aye,' Finan coughed.
'And I assume this is the same baby goat you told me you had rescued?' you asked Sihtric.
'Could be,' he mumbled.
Uhtred looked at Finan, then at Sihtric, then at Ingrith, then at you, and then at his own feet as he placed his hands on his hips. He scoffed, then he chuckled and then he bursted out in laughter and walked out of the hall.
You told Ingrith everything Sihtric had told you, to which she told Finan off and thanked you for making her understand where her husband went all the time. And you told her you had the same problem with Sihtric. Uhtred came back later, hearing you and Ingrith out, and he forbade the men to taunt innocent people again, but they were free to fight each other. Which you and Ingrith did not agree with, but Uhtred did not care, then he told the men they should hump their wives more and laughed again as he left.
***************
It was already late when you had arrived in Bebbanburg, so Uhtred gave you and Sihtric a place to stay before you were to travel back again by morning.
'You never change, do you?' you smiled at Sihtric, who was taking off his clothes to join you in bed.
'I fear not,' Sihtric smiled, after you had told him off for his behaviour, but knowing you also loved that side of him, which you would never admit.
You watched as he got in bed and climbed on top of you, enjoying the sight of your husband's muscular body above you. He leaned in to kiss you softly and your hands trailed over his chest without hesitation.
'Now,' Sihtric smiled as your noses touched, 'I'd like to be pleased by my wife.'
'Oh,' you teased, 'I don't know about that. You haven't behaved man enough lately for such things, have you? You have behaved rather boyish. And here I thought my husband was a lord,' you shrugged.
'That is what you think?' Sihtric asked, sitting back up as he looked down at you, 'have I not been man enough for you?'
You crossed your arms, looking unimpressed and sighed as if bored.
'Okay,' Sihtric chuckled, pulling you up by your hands and mounting you on top of him as he laid down on his back, 'then perhaps the Lady of Dunholm should remind the lord how he needs to behave.'
