Driving Iceland's ring road - clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Driving Iceland’s ring road – clockwise or anti-clockwise?
A common question for visitors to Iceland is whether it’s best to drive Iceland’s Route 1 ring road in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Whislt we didn’t actually drive the entire ring on our trip (we probably covered around one third of it), I did plan to at first so spent quite a bit of time researching this issue. I hope my findings will help you make an informed decision as to what…

Ayo Rhap, your Aussie is showing in the latest translation lol. Though I'm interested in what other Aussie terms you could casually put in translation. Lmao perhaps a bogan slang translation chapter for April Fool's one day?
???? I thought nappy is also used outside of Australia????

A post came across my dash and it reminded me how much I hate the phrase "righty tighty, lefty loosey", both because it sounds silly, and because right and left are not rotational directions.

Hey, do me a favour and reblog this, I’m trying to reach someone!
Ok, here we go: That dream you had where your teeth fell out? Don’t worry, it’s a stress dream, it doesn’t mean much more than you’re trying to deal with stuff outside your control.

So, you can buy one of the books from the 1999 The Mummy at the upcoming March 2024 Propstore auction.
From the listing for Lot #250:
The heavy book is primarily made of resin finished in gold paint to resemble solid gold, and features several intentionally tarnished bronze components. The book's embellished metal spine displays 12 individual strands attached to each internal page. Designed to hold the front cover in place, four metal vulture-like clasps are inserted into the scarab emblems and are adjoined to uniquely designed hinges. Located within the book are 12 resin tablet pages covered in ornate hieroglyph detailing. To open the book, the circular mechanical emblem on the cover must be twisted in an anticlockwise direction, which causes the two clasps on the right side to pop up. To close the book, the two clasps should be pushed down into their corresponding slots and held. The emblem should then be turned clockwise, causing the locks to fix back into place. Intentionally distressed for the production, there are some small chips on the cover. Dimensions: 14.5" x 14.5" x 4.75" (37 cm x 37 cm x 12 cm) Estimate: $50,000 - 100,000
The clasps and lock mechanism are fully functional. BYO key, though.

How to read a vedic birth chart
Tumblr media
In this post we will be exploring the 3 major styles of chart drawing in Vedic Astrology. I have used an imaginary chart to explain.
South Indian
This chart is pretty straightforward. Regardless of the rising, the signs always stay in a fixed position. Starting from the second house on the top left (Aries), we go clockwise all the way to the top left corner (Pisces). The house with a marking on its top left corner or the abbreviation As or Asc tells you that it is the ascendant or 1st house.

left-positions of the signs; right-example
So with the example in the 2nd pic, we get that the person has a Cancer lagna (ascendant) and Mars in the the 2nd House and so on.
While reading a South Indian chart always remember to read it clockwise!
North Indian
Now this the most popular version of drawing the chart. In this, The house positions remain the same while the signs keep moving. This means that the divisions always indicate the houses and the numbers indicate the signs in them. Starting from the top centre (1st house) we go anti clockwise till the triangle in the top right corner (12th house).

left-positions of the houses; right-example
Notice how the cardinal or kendra (केन्द्र) (1,4,7,10) houses are in the centre. In this example, we can tell that the sign occupying the 1st house is Cancer and therefore it is the ascendant; Moon is in Gemini in the 12th House etc.
While reading a North Indian chart always remember to read it anti-clockwise!
East Indian
This one is a mix of the previously discussed charts. It is read anticlockwise and the divisions denote the default positions of the signs. The word As or Asc will denote the ascendant and 1st house.

left-positions of the signs; right-example
Using the same example again, we can tell that Jupiter is in the 10th sign i.e. Capricorn; Venus is in Virgo in the 3rd House etc.
While reading a East Indian chart always remember to read it anti-clockwise!
Hopefully this post was informative. Like and reblog if you found it helpful!

Guys. I’m in love. These are some small, quick exercises for people who are bed-bound. It’s linked, but for anyone who doesn’t want to read it:
Hands, Shoulders, and Arms
Shrugging Shoulders
This exercise works best when it is done while sitting down. Shrug shoulders in a way that the shoulders reach the back of your head. It is best to repeat it 5 to 10 times a day.
Palm Stretching
To do this, open your palm and extend your fingers for a few seconds. Try to extend as much as you can until you feel a stretch. Now, touch your thumb with each finger individually. Repeat the same for both hands.
Arm Raises
A very simple exercise is to raise your left arm as high as you can above the head. After repeating it five times, repeat this five times with your right arm.
Now, raise your left arm again in front of you and then change your arm five times. These are called forward arm raises.
Now, for one of the best bed exercises for arms, raise your arm straight out to the side, this is called lateral arm raise. Do it one by one for each arm. If you have the strength, then do this for both arms at the same time.
Arm Crosses
For this, move your arms to the sides until you feel a minor stretch. Now, bring the arms closer to each other in a way that they pass each other in a cross.
Neck
Head Rotation
You can do this while sitting. You need to tilt your head to one side and then rotate it 360 degrees gradually. Repeat the exercise from one side and then repeat it in the reverse direction.
Head Turns
For this, you need to turn your head slowly from one extreme to another. Stretch your head in a way that you feel extreme tension on the side of the neck. Repeat this five times a day and increase the number of repetitions every few days.
Leg, Ankles, and Feet
Leg Rotation
To perform this, keep one of your legs still. Move the other leg to the outer side, a little away from the first leg. Bring it back again and repeat it for the same leg several times. Now, do the same for the other leg.
Ankle Rotation
For this one, extend your legs while sitting down or lying down. Now, raise your leg slightly above the surface. Rotate your ankles clockwise and anticlockwise. Do this at least five times each.
Toe Bends
While lying down, flex your toes when you point them. Stretch the toes outwards and then inwards, towards yourself.
Ankle Bends
Bend your toes in a way that they are pointing towards the ceiling and then backward.
Full Body
Hip Raises
To do this, you can lie down on your back and raise your lips slightly from the bed. You need to keep the hips in the air for a few seconds before you bring them down.
