I LOVE your work !!! 🩵 Who are your favorite artists that inspire you?
Thank you for the kind words!!!
My biggest inspirations have gotta be first and foremost @noisivy, without their art to inspire me, I don't think I'd ever have gotten as far as I have. The original works of The Designers Republic circa 1990's/2000's were big touchstones for me too. @nuphory is a huge one for me, nobody captures the essence of the sky quite like them.
Those are just the few biggest ones for me, there are many many more artists who've inspired my work in minor and major ways, and I'm glad to even be friends with some of them! Shout out to the Kaybug Kollective crew in that regard, all those artists inspire me too :)

I'll say that I have been in some fandom with extremely impressive and dedicated artists but consistently some of my favorite artists are ones who technically make 'unimpressive' art to outright loving posting 'low effort' doodles. I love skilled work thats beautiful, but I also deeply admire a freedom from perfectionism and ambition. Sometimes those are just non-complicated but still clearly skilled works, and sometimes thats loving the wobbly simplicity of crude lines vs. rendered beauty.
One of my favorite artists back when I was big into Hollow Knight was a korean artist who could absolutely make some extremely beautiful stuff, but many of the pieces I remember most and loved the most looked like this
Even here I know I mentally worked harder to make this imitation than they did for the OG. I can't draw fast and loose, and I like work that is clearly faster and looser than I can do. I envy people who can do things imperfect and carefree. Sometimes thats still very obviously skilled work, sometimes its very stupid doodles that were blatantly done in 30 seconds in mspaint. I don't think its say, disrespectful to love the doodles more than the rendered stuff said artist makes- but my love for it comes from a place that a lot of people wouldn't guess.
That is to say, its hard to tell who, why, or when something you make might click with people- and it doesn't take a masterwork for someone to see something in your art as inspiration.

doing the missing Linktober Inktober prompts the crazy bonkers way with a SKY LINE UP
I picked and chose a few prompts not really caring to make it the right prompts for the days, and for the rest of the month I'm just gonna mix and match them (more like taking the day 29 prompts and using them tomorrow kind of mix and match)
But YEAH this was a lot of fun!! the aus i used going from left to right-top to bottom are: @bonus-links @linked-maze @linkeduniverse @limited-hero @heroesspirit and finally my own (which remains unpublished atm)
I'll leave close ups to all the guys under the cut!
Skyward Sword stained glass
Loft Bonus Links
Sky Linked Maze
Sky Linked Universe
Sky Limited Hero
Sky Heroes Spirit

Hi! Your Hollow Knight AU has really cheered me up so I wanted to do a little drawing for it! This got me to get my art tablet out after months of not feeling like it so thank you for the inspiration! I hope the colors look good on any monitor that's not mine sdfsdf
Bugs In the Jingshi wyd?
I am so genuinely awestruck at how well you translated this AU to the hollow knight style! Also obsessed with the height difference.

I've been reading Exodus lately and I've just gotten to the portions where God gives the first commands to the people via Moses (twice), and then goes on to give detailed instructions about the tabernacle and how it should be built, and I'm just... we think art is unimportant?? we think things only mean as much as their functionality?? we so easily fall into the trap of believing that beauty means nothing, that it's cheap and only worth whatever mindless distraction it brings, that it's barely more than a cheap sensual thrill, that buildings should just be practical and plain and cheap, that everything should be functional but ultimately disposable, that paintings and dresses and mugs and curtains and carpets are just pretty but have no real value, that beauty is fleeting and vain and therefore shouldn't be thought about too much, if even looked for at all... we fall into these traps so easily, and we forget that there are chapters upon chapters of painstakingly detailed plans to build one portable worship tent, and those plans have been handed down through thousands of years of human history, because beauty and art and skill in craft is important
