Just saw the Mario Movie and I got a few things to say

1) overall, I enjoyed it a lot and referencing stuff from the games tickled my brain. It’s a fun movie and I wouldn’t mind watching it again

2) heLLO???? THE MUSIC????? FANTASTIC. Hearing the little iconic tunes are making me giggle lol

3) the animation is so pretty! I don’t know much about art, but I thought it was really really nice. Lighting was really cool and the detail on the world and characters was impressive

4) Peach was not being an insufferable “Strong Woman” like I feared. She was there doing what she needed to do and not making a huge deal about it. Thank you for that. She’s my main in smash and kart and I would die for her.

5) speaking of Peach, she and Mario did not end up in a romantic relationship at the end. They are partners, friends. If they were to get into a relationship in the far future, I think this is a good starting point to build off of.

6) and speaking of Mario, the guy was pretty cool. The Pratt man wasn’t terrible. I was iffy at the beginning of the movie but I was over it after a short while. I cringed less than I thought

7) I am so so so happy they didn’t pull a “What is this? Im the chosen one? But im just a dude” trope. Mario is just like, “ayo im a guy and im confident that I know how to do plumbing things and I love my brother.” Love that for you, Mario.

8) The Mario and Luigi’s brotherly relationship is everything to me. It was beautiful and all I ever needed in the franchise. I want more. And to get more, i need Luigi to be by Mario’s side and not trapped in a cage for most of the movie. Luigi is my baby and I love him and he’s doing great in every scene. I just NEED him to have MORE screen time.

9) up until this movie, I did not ship Bowser and Luigi, but now I’m considering it. They’re interactions were sus as hell and the chemistry was undeniable. That’s just the truth sorry not sorry

10) JACK BLACK WAS AMAZING AND HES EVERYTHING AS BOWSER AND YES MAN SING IT

11) I love Bowser with all my heart and he was so good in this movie

12) D. K. DONKEY KONG

That was the BEST way to introduce him and I nearly went feral when it happened

13) I need more DK and Mario friendship please and thank you

14) I want more content and I hope the internet will supply me with fun and fluffy (or angsty) content otherwise, I will cry

There are a total of three moments where it felt like the Mario Movie wanted to go dark or serious but it held back a little.

When Bowser was interrogating Luigi

When Toad was being tortured and Peach is screaming for mercy.

And when Bowser is beating the SHIT out of Mario.

I got a taste of angst and I didn't realized how much I wanted to see that in a MARIO FRANCHISE.

Based on this little exchange in chapter 3 that inspired me so much!

"He let out a squeak as Bowser grabbed the back of his suit jacket and lifted him up. This way neither had to crane their necks to have eye contact, still it felt odd just dangling there from his claws. Luigi instinctively curled his legs up, almost looking like a kitten being scruffed."

Tbh I love the writing in this fic sm its so expressive I can't describe it but literally every scene in this fic paints such a vivid picture I could draw any scene from it, its so engaging pls read it, its genuinely one of the best pics ive had the pleasure to read in along time its so good im so exited for the next chapter!!

Anyhow here's the aforementioned speed paint from procreate, sorry its tilted bc the drawing is vertical it just exported that way and I don't know how to change it sorry but hopefully u can still appreciate it I spent an ungodly amount of time on this

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t get why they used DK in the Mario movie? Like I feel like there were a handful of other chapters that might make a better movie. I’d rather see Yoshi, or Daisy, and watch them become a part of the gang. I don’t know, but I do know that I really hope Wario and Waluigi are used if the make a second movie. I love those goofy goobers.

I would really like to reanimate a small part of the song peaches with our wonderful Weegee instead! That include other peoples fanart(with credits of course♡) as a big collab for when this part appears!

I recently rewatched Amphibia and got a little inspired to do a thing.

Happy Holidays!!! This is a headcanon I have for Super Mario Odyssey for why you can play the ballon game in bowsers kingdom XD This took longer than I wanted and I had to squish the file sizes rippppp. Originally this was supposed to be a small thing then I started playing with brushes....anyways can you tell I don't like backgrounds. I also did this as a comic page then made the “closeups” but I love these goonies so much!!!
