hello I'm so happy that your requests are open because I followed you a long time ago mainly for peaky fics and now I see you write for tangerine as well and I am fixated with tangerine as well so!!! perfect combo. anyway, I would like to request a very angsty fic where tangerine breaks up with reader. like they love each other but can't be with each other type of thing or they have communication issues idk.. I just love angst and you can decide if it has an happy ending or not and the other details 😌 I'm aware mine isn't a very detailed request so of course if you don't feel like it feel free not to do it!! thanks 💝💝💝
Hey Anon,
I am awful at sad endings. Not the best with angst either but I hope this is what you are looking for. I feel like I may have made it too fluffy because I'm having a rough time. Anyway, thank you for waiting a million years!

Warnings: Fighting, rough childhood, angst, fluff, lots of banter, Ready is having a hard time, mentions of abusive ex-boyfriend abusing power and being evil.

Watching her sleep he tried to stop himself from slipping away. His walls were starting to come up after the mission they had on the weekend. Having Lemon to worry about was enough of a headache, but now it was public knowledge in his world that you were his.
Better to break things off while it could still be considered a rumor. Who believed anything Ladybug had to say anyway? Stupid git.
You let out a heavy breath as if somehow you were in agreement with his silent conversation. The normally colorful room was dark and he knew it would be his last night in your floral sheets and ridiculously comfortable bed. He just had to let you know that it was his last night.
He considered ghosting you, but naturally, you were too loyal for that. You’d assume the worst and try to save him, risking your job and potentially your life. He groaned lightly as you shifted your warm body against him.
Stupid fucking job. Where were you 15 years ago when this mess started? If he knew this was in the cards he would have held out, and avoided the industry all together. Maybe he would have gone to uni… maybe gone the government route like you did.
This was also the worst possible time to do it. You’d been having issues with your sister, the pressure from your job was crushing you, and to top it all off it was not the best time of the month.
You woke up eventually, long eyelashes fluttering and he soaked up the look of adoration on your face before he broke everything between you and him.
“Sleep well?” You murmured pressing a kiss to his chest.
___________________________________________________________
Reader POV
Tan’s gaze was distant, he’d been strange since he got home. Lemon didn’t come over for takeout after the job was finished, breaking their tradition. There was something heavy on his shoulders and you wanted to take it from him more than anything.
“Tan-” Your voice fell away before you could ask. The look on his face and awkward posture answered your question. Everyone would stay and as soon as you got sad or ran out of things to do for them they left. God forbid you had a disagreement with them, memories of your mother screaming at you to get out flashed in your mind.
“Look, a rumor about us kicked up-” he looked defeated with the slightest bit of frustration etched into his features.
“I understand it’s fine.” You gritted your teeth. All the feelings of safety you normally felt laying next to him turned into acidic disgust. This wasn't something you thought you could do right now. Too much was going on and losing him was enough to make you break down. You just wanted him to leave, you didn't care about whatever story he was going to spin you. It wasn't his fault you ran in opposing circles, and that this relationship was dangerous. It wasn't his fault but anger and grief consumed you.
“Look, I care about you - But I’m worried-” his voice was earnest and it made you angrier that he was trying to baby you.
“About your reputation I get it. I understand. Get out.” You pointed to the door hoping he would get changed and fuck off. You were barely holding yourself together. He told you from the start what type of guy he was. This was your fault and you should be handling it better. Given the jobs you both did this wasn't supposed to be anything more than a fling.
He just got further than anyone else had. That’s what was making this so difficult.
“Oi! Got us some breakfast,” Lemon called from your kitchen and Tan cringed.
“Just get your things and take him with you.” You turned over onto your side.
“This isn't what I want.” He said taking you off guard.
“I’m not what anyone wants. This was a mistake, I get it. Okay, I understand, just leave.” Your voice was straining and you got up and ran to the bathroom, unfortunately for you he caught the door before it could shut.
You turned around and he moved into your space.
“This isn't something you can just throw away.” He was angry now, something so much easier to deal with.
“I wasn’t throwing anyone away! You are throwing me away.” You started shouting.
“I don't want to throw you away. It’s just not safe right now.” He grabbed your shoulders.
“Right now? As in you found someone better for now!”
“That’s bull shit. I can't have you getting killed because of me.”
“You’re bullshit. You said you’d keep me safe. You said you wanted this. To give it a proper go. Now you miss being single and fucking every chick that looks at you because you - ” Your chest was heaving. How many times had you been through this?
“Shut up!” He snapped, cutting you off.
“You shut up. You stupid man.”
“You having a domestic? Food’s getting cold.”
“Fuck off Lemon.” You both said in unison. His eyes glared at you and you stared him down.
“Just leave me. Okay. it’s fine. I’m not - and that’s fine.” You said finally in defeat.
____________________________________________
Tangerine’s POV
All the things he knew about you flew through his mind. He probably should have thought about the guys who’d hurt you. How your mother had thrown you out. What your dad was like.
All of those hurts were so evident in your eyes it killed him.
But what was worse? What you would do to yourself or what would happen if someone were to use you against him?
“What you are going to feel is much better than what will happen if people confirm we are together. I don’t know how it got out. But I can't let you get hurt.”
The tears started to spill and your body sagged enough to finally pull you into his arms. He held you tightly hating the fact that it might be the last time. Scratch that it would be the last time.
Her chest was heaving and her body shaking. He was so angry at the situation, so mad that some other mother fucker would get to move in. Have every part of her.
Would he keep her safe? He hated the feeling growing in him.
“Look it’s really important that you know there isn't anything wrong with you.” This only made her cry more. Eventually he and Lemon left.
“She looked half dead already Tan.” Lemon said as he drove them far away from her flat.
“Can’t let her end up in this.”
“Maybe we could leave? Take her with us.”
These were not the words he was expecting. His duty above everything was to his brother. He was willing to leave you, to keep you safe, and to do right by his brother.
“You would want that?” Tangerine said, his voice getting cold again.
“Would want that a hell of a lot more than dealing with your fucking moping. Plus she was doing better with us around. That’s a pretty rare find.”
He thought about where he found you, how the whole stupid thing started. Called in to have your stalker ex-boyfriend - who was also your boss- killed. Did it free of charge, and couldn't leave you alone after that. Even Lemon preferred your flat.
Stupid woman. If you weren't so high up in government intelligence - maybe he could see a way. But that job also made you just as crooked as he and Lemon were.
“You ready for retirement?” He asked softly.
“Yeah, I think you deserve your Bond lady. I’m tired of running into Ladybug on every fu-ck-ing job.”
“This will be the last go.” Lemon gave him a nod. The job took about three months.
Three months and yet no Ladybug. Every job they’d had since the Train he’d shown up at some point. Lemon was obsessed with predicting on when he would pop up and fuck them over, but the mission was completed bug-free. This seemed to irritate Lemon even more.
“Nah Tan I’m telling you that bloody fucker is going to show up.” Lemon was pacing across their room. He fought the urge to blow up at him. Why does it matter if he shows up now, mans been killed, money transfered, story is over. Seeing that Lemon wouldn't let it go he tried to think of a solution.
“Just search it in the requests and see if he’s booked” He finally suggested pouring himself a large drink.
“Oh ho that’s an idea.” Lemon started to ramble as he hacked into their company directory. All Tangerine could think of was you. They had more than enough money to retire, but would you come back? Did you want to give up your job? Would you even be able to look at him long enough to let him explain? This might be the hardest job he’d had yet.
Lemon interrupted his thoughts by saying your name. He hummed in agreement, still not paying attention to whatever Lemon was saying.
“Tan there’s a hit, Ladybug took the job.”
“That’s what we do eh?” Can't blame a man for working.” He took another long sip of whiskey.
“On her - TAN THE HIT WAS PLACED ON HER” Lemon’s voice had an authentic tone of panic and the glass shot out of his hand colliding violently with the wall.
No words needed to be said as they grabbed their shit and ran to the door.
____________________________________________
Reader POV
You were beyond tired. Between stalking Tan and Lemon and the amount of work that was landing on your desk you started to wonder if it was time for a break. In 10 years of service never once did you take a vacation. Not when your boss/boyfriend started abusing you, not when your family left. You just kept on pushing through. But with no loud distractions, there was a thick emptiness growing all around you.
When you thought about feeling relaxed you thought about him. They were always around bickering and fighting, while at the same time looking after you.
You were tired. You were broken. You thought about calling your sister, but she’d gone back to her ex again, meaning that you were no longer speaking. You slammed your fist against the cool stone countertop in your kitchen. You tried to push everything out of your mind but it felt like the world was sending you one giant glaring message. The world really didn't need you.
Trying to keep your mind away from dangerous thoughts you changed into something comfy and turned on a comfort crime drama. Pouring a mug of tea you heard a knock at the door. You grabbed the gun you kept in the top drawer of the island and moved toward the entryway.
Looking through the peephole you hated how badly you wanted to see Tan and Lemon. Sadly it was a man with blonde hair. After a quick moment you recognized him as the guy Lemon always shouted about.
What if he was here to deliver a message?
You clicked the safety off the gun and opened the door.
“Hel-OH” The man put his hands up and gave a charming smile. “I just erm- moved in down the hall and -” The man stumbled through his story with a flirty air despite having a gun pressed to his forehead. His eyes rested on your chest and you fought the urge to spit on him.
“Necklace - it’s nice. Special friend give it to you?” He referenced Tan’s gold chain you still refused to take off.
“Something like that. Ladybug?” You said despite already knowing that was his name.
“Well shit - You with the two psycho fruits then?” You smiled slightly at the nickname. “Thought you looked familiar.”
“Perhaps.”
“No point in formalities then. I got a job to steal some files from your computer.” He smiled brightly. “No guns - see” he opened his jacket and proved to you that he was unarmed. You stepped aside to let him in.
“What files and for who? Tea?” You gestured to the kettle.
______________________________________________________________
Tangerines POV
“The hit was placed days ago. DAYS” He pinched the bridge of his nose. Why did he think breaking up with you was a smart idea. How many comic books had he read telling him that was a stupid idea?
“Why do you keep letting me make stupid fucking choices eh?” He shouted at Lemon who was driving like a madman going well over the limit.
“Tried telling you not to get involved. She slept with her boss and then had him killed.”
“She liked him well enough - Look, her dad really messed her up, can’t blame her for missing the red flags. The important thing is when she found out he was trafficking those girls she dealt with it.”
He rambled worse than Lemon when he got nervous. Memories of the first night you had met ran through his mind making the pain in his chest triple. His hands were shaking and his head felt like it was splitting in half.
How could he let this happen? Lemon slowed down, but before he could park Tan had already jumped out of the car leaving the door open.
He tried the button on the elevator but it refused to light up so he ran up the stairs, taking them two at a time. A bell rang out once at the top and Lemon walked out of the elevator.
“Why’d you waste time on the stairs?” He asked as they hurried down the hallway towards your apartment. Once he caught sight of your door he lunged and kicked it clean off its hinges. He heard you scream out and it was like the world had finally stopped spinning. Screaming meant breathing and breathing meant living.
He ran into your living room to find you standing there with your gun up, and Ladybug sipping a mug of tea giving a friendly wave.
“Tan - What the fuck-” You started but he didn’t care this had to end now. He grabbed the mug of tea from the man's hand and threw it at him, starting the brawl.
__________________________
Readers POV
“Are you going to break them up!” You asked as the two men struggled against each other.
“Nah” Lemon came to stand close to you. “He’s had an ass-kicking waiting for him for ages.”
You watched as Tan spilled his blood all over your plush carpet.
“Ladybug started the rumor that you and Tan were a thing. Probably harmless, just trying to get under our skin. But you should have seen him when we found out he accepted a job on you.”
“Well, he didn’t know the job was on me till he got here.”
“Look, he was pulling his hair out all day, even cried on the plane. Just let him have his moment eh?”
After a moment it became evident to you that if someone didn't stop him your second favorite mug wouldn't be the only casualty.
“Tan - Tan” You called his name and grabbed hold of the arm he was using to batter Ladybug’s face with. “TAN - stop.” You struggled against his strength but he looked up at you. Something in your face was enough to get him to stop.
“He was gonna fucking kill you.” He said in an exasperated tone, chest heaving. “Fuck off and let me handle it.”
“He wasn't here to kill me. Just wanted some files. He didn’t know I live here.” His eyes narrowed on you as if he had superpowers and could tell if you were lying.  “Promise, he wasn't going to hurt me.”
“Thank you.” Ladybug coughed.
“Shut up.” Tan barked. “Don't look at her either.”
“Lemon, can you deal with him?” You asked firmly as you pulled Tangerine into the bathroom.
“What the fuck was that?” You shut the bathroom door and turned the cold water on, placing his hands under it. You started shouting at him as you washed his hands.
“You fucking left you have no right to break down my fucking door you mother fucker” You continued on as you grabbed a washcloth from the cupboard and started washing the blood from his face. Then you put some ointment on his knuckles before wrapping them.
“It’s embarrassing you run off to some stupid island for three fucking months.”
“You kept tabs on us?” Tan finally spoke.
“Shut up!” You pulled the wrap tight and knotted it. “The point is you don’t love me and I don't want you here.”
You finally looked into his eyes and wanted more than anything to understand what you had to say to get him to figure it out. Talking was never something you guys were good at, especially when the topic was painful.
He looked at you very carefully for a moment and you knew his temper was raging, you were expecting a proper fight this time.
“Oi we are going to run to the hardware store. Grab a new door and that. Fancy some takeout?” Lemon shouted from down the hall.
“You know I have a real craving for some pad thai” Ladybug called out.
“That’s a good call.” Lemon agreed. You could feel the heat radiating off of him but couldn't help but push him a little bit farther.
“Pad Thai, extra spicy, no peanuts.” You called out before his lips crashed into yours. He picked you up and slammed you against the bathroom door. His hands were all over you and you thought about stopping him, but this was so much easier than talking.
_______________________________________________
After making a proper mess in your bathroom he carried your bed. He pulled the covers over you and kissed the top of your head. He held you tightly till the sound of laughter floated into your apartment.
“Stay.” He ordered before leaving.  You were so tired you didn't care enough to argue.
You curled up and could just barely hear what they were saying.
“Can you guys handle this?” Tan asked keeping his voice low.
“Yeah, foods on the counter,” Lemon responded. “She alright?”
“She’s tough, just needs to rest, that's all.” He said a few other things that you couldn't hear. “You both can fight over the guest room.”
“Piss off,” Lemon grumbled.
Tan came back with food and after getting your chopsticks he settled his arm around you.
“We should probably talk about everything.” You said in between bites.
“We have officially retired. Quit your job and come with us.” He whispered his mustache tickling your ear.
You should really deal with everything. Talk about your initial reaction to him trying to break up with you. Figure out where the relationship was going. Understand each other's goals. But talking wasn't ever your thing.
“Sure.” You said around a mouth full of noodles.

warnings. 18+ only!! unprotected pinv, mating press, breaking beds. minors dni
Tangerine has been away on a two-week-long mission in South Africa, and the extent to which you missed each other was always incomprehensible. The distance and time apart isn't an uncommon part of your relationship - it was simply a kink in the road you've grown to be become comfortable with.
This time, while he was away, he filled you with an insatiable want for him, a thirst that couldn't be quenched with the hundreds of miles of distance between you. It was need he fed regularly with his filthy texts and voice notes.
So when he returned home safely to you, he put his money where his mouth is - fulfilling every one of those promises he made to you during your late-night calls.
He had you on your shared bed within minutes of being back, your naked self lying desperately under him. His weight balanced on the backs of your knees, pushing down onto your thighs as he continuously drives his cock into you - holding you in mating press.
The wind of his hips urgent and erratic, the deep need to feel you wrapped around him being the only solid thought in his brain. His strokes precise and intricate, every move made with intention - as if there's preparation and thought behind each thrust he gives you.
Every drag of his cock rips out broken noises from you, his weight knocking strained sounds from the pits of your stomach. The only other sounds in the room being his soft grunts, the hasty creaking of the bed and the slapping of sticky, wet skin. All of the lewd sounds merging together.
His expression is primal and desperate, staring down at you with that carnal look he often wears - curls falling from his usual pushed-back-do, stray hairs danging across his forehead as he vigorously fucks himself into you.
Just as you feel another high rise to the surface, you hear the cry of help of the bedframe from under you - the creaking getting louder and louder. The wooden slats sounding mere moments away from giving in.
He brushes away your cautious expression, shaking his head as if to quieten you - putting off that thought like he was trying to concentrate. The throbbing of his cock inside you alluding to his close release.
"Shush. It don't matter," he coos, his voice hoarse. "Will get a new one, just— just focus, love."
You do as asked, nodding up at him as you reach for his wrists, wrapping your fingers around the thickness like you were trying to keep him there - getting back in the zone and distracting yourself from the inevitable break of the bed.
You feel Tangerine tense up - his body stilling above before you feel a dip in the mattress beneath you, the frame caving in from under. He shakes his head frustratedly and readjusts his position, fucking you into the broken bed until you're both gasping and blubbering from your climaxes.

thank you to local fandom legend @avocado-writing for reading this over!
for @northerngalxy who asked for:
"Tangerine x reader where a drunk guy is trying to kiss her…?"
i found a TikTok of a man who said a certain key phrase in this fic, and i had to write it coming out of Tangerine's mouth. enjoy!
-----
It’s a warm summer night, but a steady breeze makes it bearable. You’re out at a bar with Tangerine, who showed up without warning at your door a few hours ago.
“How long would it take you to get ready, if I wanted to take you out?” he asked, knowing the answer, but grinning mischievously.
“Maybe thirty minutes? What’s gotten into you? This can’t be the same Tang who left a week ago,” you said, heading into your bedroom to change.
He followed behind you, watching you undress. Leaning against the doorframe, he was wearing a striped button up shirt that was barely buttoned, dark jeans that fit him perfectly, and black leather loafers. Never without his gold jewelry, he removed his medallion and placed it gingerly around your neck. Aside from your underwear, it was the only thing you were wearing.
“I want you to wear this tonight,” he said, his hands sliding down your arms to thread his fingers through yours. “Make sure it’s visible.” He’d met your eyes in the mirror, and it had been so hard not to shove him down onto the bed and take him then and there.
Tangerine is in a rare fantastic mood, not an ounce of the usual grouch in him. After dining at the most decadent Italian restaurant, you’ve decided on a night cap at your favorite local spot. The inside of the bar was packed, so you grab a table on the patio. The tables and chairs are black wrought iron, with an outdoor bar off to the left. They’ve strung lights between the brick walls of the buildings enclosing the space, and they give everything a soft, romantic glow.
Tangerine is telling you what he can about where he’s been, about Lemon, and the books he read on the journey there and back, joking often and laughing loudly. His good cheer is contagious, and you find yourself smiling so much your cheeks hurt. Every time your drink gets low he’s dutifully heading over to the bar to replace it. After you’ve had a few, you can feel the warmth of the alcohol radiating through you. You ask him to get you a glass of water, and he carefully collects your empty glasses and gets up.
Tangerine is only gone for a few seconds before a stranger comes over to your table. You didn’t notice him at first, busy reaching for your phone in your bag, but the scrape of metal against concrete causes you to jerk your head up. He’s pulling out a chair and sitting down next to you, way too close.
“Hi,” he starts, clearly a little drunk but not totally inebriated. “I’ve been trying to get up the nerve to talk to you all night.” Everything about him looks expensive, from his suit to his haircut. There’s something predatory in the way he’s watching you that immediately puts you off.
“I’m here with someone,” you tell him flatly, pulling out and unlocking your phone. You’re hoping he’ll take the hint and leave you be, but no such luck.
He reaches over, putting his hand over the screen. “Give me a chance. I promise I’m a better time than that pretty boy,” he says with a smirk, cocking his head toward Tangerine at the bar. “Let me get your insta, at least.”
“Careful, your jealousy is showing,” you tell the creep, pulling your phone away and replacing it in your bag. “Kindly fuck off and let me enjoy my evening, thanks.”
He only smiles, and it puts you in the mind of a snake. “I could have you begging for me,” he says, clearly trying some kind of bedroom voice. To you, it sounds like a bad Batman impression.
Before you can respond, two massive hands come down on his shoulders, squeezing hard.
“I don’t think I quite caught that. D’you wanna repeat that for the class?” Tangerine asks, trying to rein in his own fury. The veins in his hands stand out prominently, reaching up his arms.
The man tries to twist out of his grasp, stand up, something, but Tangerine forces him back into the chair.
“No no, none of that. Listen to me,” Tangerine says, leaning down next to the creep’s ear. Voice low and full of venom, he tells the man, “You’re trying to get into her DMs, yeah? But you see my necklace around her throat? ‘Cause at night she’s sucking the rings off of my fingers.”
“Jesus, Tangerine,” you sigh, rolling your eyes, desperately trying to fight a grin.
He gives you a quick wink before getting deadly serious again. Jerking the chair back, the man puts his hands up defensively, cowering.
“Look, man, it was just a joke,” the creep says, looking like he wants to collapse in on himself.
Tangerine steps in front of him, pulling him to his feet by the lapels of his suit jacket.
“Look, man, I can’t see the humor,” Tangerine mocks him, shoving him into the table of men who were laughing a minute ago. He rolls ass-over-teakettle across the surface, finally hitting the ground with a thud.
“Any of you wanna say something?” Tangerine challenges, cracking his knuckles, but they all look away quickly. “That’s what I fucking thought.”
He comes over to you, holding out his hand. “Let’s go, love.”
Without a word, you place your hand in his, and he leads you through the bar and back outside, now on the street. His skin is hot against yours, and you know he was hoping for a brawl. The man loves a good old fashioned fistfight.
After a few blocks of walking in semi-stunned silence, you stop, pulling him towards you. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you bring him into a kiss. His lips press hard against yours, and you catch his bottom lip between your teeth. Groaning, his hands go to your hips, pressing your bodies together.
He breaks the kiss, resting his forehead against yours.
“Careful, ‘cause I will fuck you on the street,” he tells you, catching his breath.
“Maybe I want you to,” you tease, pressing your lips to his again. His kiss is eager, yearning, his tongue parting your lips. One of your hands threads through his hair, messing up the carefully combed curls. Your nails drag against his skull and he moans into your mouth. Without stopping the kiss, he drags you both over to the side of a short brick building, and pushes you up against a wall. You’re thankfully on a residential side street that happens to be deserted, because neither of you bother to check if anyone’s around. One of his legs pries yours apart, and he lifts up the skirt of your dress. His fingers rub against the soft fabric of your panties, teasing around your clit but not touching it directly.
“Can I have you right here, love?” he asks, his hot breath on your lips. You smile.
“I nearly jumped your bones at the bar, in front of god and everyone. All that to say yes, absolutely,” you tell him, laughing. His mouth moves along your jaw, kissing and licking his way up to your earlobe. Just as he gives it a sharp bite, his fingers push inside of you. Unable to stop the loud moan that escapes you, you bury your face in the crook of his neck. He starts off slow, letting you get used to one and then two digits.
“That’s my girl, taking me so well,” he says, looking at you with so much pride it hurts. “Telling other men to fuck off,” he laughs. His thumb finally starts circling your aching clit. The pressure alternates as his fingers pump in and out of you. A bead of sweat rolls down his throat, and your tongue darts out to catch it. He picks up speed until you’ve got his hair in a death grip with one hand, digging your nails into his rock hard forearm with the other. The orgasm hits you quick, your thighs capturing his wrist in a vice, pushing your body down his fingers, trying to get him as deep as possible. You bite into his shoulder, moaning his name and -yes oh fuck yes- into the fabric of his shirt.
Letting you recover against him, he slowly withdraws his hand from you, replacing your panties and righting your skirt. Dazed, the thought of what he said earlier comes crashing back to you. You take his slick hand, bringing it up to your lips. Drawing his index finger into your mouth, you taste yourself as you drag your tongue down the length of it. Your lips tighten around the onyx signet ring and you suck on it. It comes loose easily, lubricated by your own arousal. Releasing his finger with a pop, you spit the ring into your hand, never breaking eye contact with Tangerine. His expression is something between stunned and painfully aroused.
“Was this your plan all along?” you ask him, dropping the ring into his shirt pocket.
“I’m not that clever,” he shrugs, giving you a wolfish smile. His hands slide up your back, pulling you off the wall and flush against his body. He kisses you tenderly, tasting you. “Now let’s get out of here.”

══════════════════
"Alright that's me," you say as you zip your suitcase, you were going out to Japan to work on a mission with Ladybug. Tangerine did not know where you were actually going, when you first started dating you didn't tell him your job because it was too dangerous and you didn't want to scare him away and when things got serious between you both you were too scared to tell him because you didn't want to jeopardise things between you both so you fabricated a seamless lie about your occupation and he didn't suspect a thing.
"Same here," replies Tangerine. You walk towards him and put on hand on his bicep the other on the side of his neck, his hands go to your waist.
"Try not to miss me too much," you tease, a playful smirk forming at the corners of your mouth.
"Same can be said for you love." Tangerine winks, you roll your eyes and lean forwards. You press your lips to his and you share a passionate kiss, one that'll leave you longing for more later on when you lay awake thinking of him.
══════════════════
You arrive in Japan and instantly the whole new world amazes you, Japan was truly impressively innovative and futuristic. But you weren't here to enjoy the culture, you had a very simple mission to do, retrieve something from a train with Ladybug, what could possibly go wrong?
Ladybug answers the call from your operator for the mission, you're both given your code names. You got given Kitty- slightly humiliating you thought but you've had worse.
"Kitty?!" Ladybug complains, "I see you're playing favourites." He says to your operator.
"Oh I'd never," she responds. "Oh and also, you two are a newly wed adventurous couple who are on their honeymoon."
"Are they also complete losers?" You ask.
"indefinitely."
You both get to the train station which is bouncing with life, you walk alongside Ladybug who is talking with the operator about why exactly you two had been picked for the job, something about someone dropping out sick maybe? You weren't really listening.
"Shit." Ladybug says.
"Shit what?" You respond with a sigh, it was always something going wrong.
"I think I lost the key back there, some guy bumped into me."
"I'll get into it, what's the locker number."
"523." Replied the operator.
You get into the locker whilst Ladybug still talks about Carver, you do nothing but roll your eyes at how much he cares he wasn't a top priority for the mission. You gather the items in the locker, the pair of you put in your ear pieces and pack the little bag. You had no idea why half of the things were necessary but it really didn't matter, you were sure time would tell. There was a gun in there, which you wanted to take but your partner was on a no killing strike and wanted to become more peaceful, you thought that was ridiculous considering your jobs but his therapist had been filling his head with nonsense.
"Ladybug!" You grab his attention, ending his useless conversation. "The train.. it's about to leave."
"Oh. Let's go."
The two of you quickly shove your way onto the train, it was a very close call. Immediately you were impressed by your surrounding's, the train, even economy was borderline luxury.
"This place is nice," says Ladybug, nodding his head approvingly.
"Agreed." You respond, you both make your way down the train whilst your operator informs you both of the trains different compartments. Then she tells you what it is you're retrieving. A silver briefcase with a sticker on the handle.
"Briefcase owners are not simple to take from." Ladybug states.
"Can't say I've much experience stealing briefcases." You reply.
"The owners should be in economy class,"
"Owners? Plural. God I knew we should have taken the gun, fuck you and your therapist Ladybug." You tut.
"I was choosing spiritual enlightenment, besides there's two of us, two, hopefully, of them. We'll be fine."
You just sigh in response, the two of you continue walking where you're met with the ticket collector. You look to Ladybug who was the one in charge of the tickets, the prolonged pocket search told you everything you needed to know. You sigh once again pinching the bridge of your nose.
"Shit I think I dropped our tickets with the key,"
"Great! Fucking brilliant."
Another pocket search and Ladybug finds the receipt which the man reluctantly accepts.
"The takeaway from that is from now on I will hold onto important things, got it?"
"Fine by me." Ladybug concludes.
You both continue your walk through economy where you heard an all too familiar voice, the man who you just walked past sounded exactly like your husband. However you didn't see his face because Ladybug was blocking him, nevertheless there was no way it was him, he was on a business trip in London. Immediately that thought leaves your mind as you and Ladybug get to the luggage, you scan over the different bags.
"There's no fucking way were finding this," Ladybug scowls.
"Just did." You reply and grab the case careful of causing attention.
"Great work Kitty,"
"Hm, what's the catch?" You reply, things felt too easy.
"Just get off the train."
You both oblige and Ladybug attempts to conceal the case in his jacket, you would argue that it would only bring suspicion but your only focus was to exit. You both make your way through the different compartments again, your heart was thumping and you felt uneasy, but persevered until you stand at a door to exit.
"Ahh look, maybe my luck has increased," Ladybug says triumphally.
"God I hope so." You respond.
The train slows down and the door opens, on the other side is a very angry looking man with curly hair, a neck tattoo and a white suit. Who is looking at you with a look so intense it makes your skin crawl. Before you know it he is lunging at you and Ladybug with a knife in his hand, you gasp as he stabs Ladybug. The two of them fall back onto a glass door, shattering it and falling to the ground. But as he removes the knife it's revealed that he just got his phone, you sigh in relief and walk into the room they fell into as Ladybug stands up.
"You stabbed me?!" Cries Ladybug, it's a mere second until he lunges at him again. You watch as they fight, you look for a weapon.
You smash a champagne bottle over his head and at the same time Ladybug kicks him, making him stumble back. The comical fight between them continues, the man reveals his motive, something about you two being responsible for his wives death, which is ridiculous because it wasn't true. The man throws his knife at Ladybug who holds the briefcase up for protection, however the knife bounces back and hits the man right in the heart, killing him almost instantly.
"Well, so much for no killing." You say, as you take the knife from his chest and wipe it clean on his jacket. You put it in your pocket for later.
You help Ladybug clean up as you both attempt to figure out who he is with no luck you give up and you set him up on the seat eating a packet of nuts. Hopefully to distract from the fact he was dead, better than nothing you thought.
You and Ladybug split up, your job is to find a table and sit there for when he finds the owners of the briefcase. All the operator knew was that they were twins. Soon Ladybug comes to sit with you, telling you about how the twins aren't actually twins and how he just fought one in the quiet car.
You rolled your eyes. "Okay, we just have to get the case and leave."
"I can't just walk off they know what I look like."
"Well then, I'll get the case you try get off and I'll get past with the case, look at me no one will suspect me. You know this is a very sexist industry, but as of now it has its advantages."
You leave the other way of the train to make it back to retrieve the case whilst Lady bug works on finding a way to exit the train. You go to the place where you stashed the case, you however quickly learn it is no longer there.
"Fuck! For fuck sake. Stupid fucks must've got to it." You rant on as you practically tear apart the room looking for the case. And much to your dismay it is absolutely nowhere to be seen. You pace back and fourth trying to rack your brain on what to do- it was your only upper hand that the twins didn't know of your existence so you couldn't blow that by trying to retrieve the case of off them, you also didn't know what they looked like. Just as you're pacing you get a text message, it was from Ladybug.
'need ur help. i'm cornered.'
You sigh in dismay, but you knew you had to go and help Ladybug with this. So you work your way down the train, checking everywhere for your partner. You hear struggle in the distance so you knew you were getting closer, you brace yourself to walk in.
"Gotcha now, there's no way you're escaping you slithery bastard. Give me the case and you walk away untouched."
"For the last time we don't have the case."
"Yes you fucking do cause I ain't got it."
"Stop. My wife is coming, I don't want her to see this."
"Your wife? What sad sack is married to you."
"She's actually really hot I'll have you know." You walk in as Ladybug says that, you mentally gag.
You freeze on the spot as you see the back of the man fighting Ladybug. For some reason his hair was identical to your husband's hair, the height and build was also the same. But no... you were definitely wrong and simply overthinking. That is until he turned around and you swore you heart stopped momentarily.
"What the fuck?!!" Tangerine says.
You just stare at him as he stares at you, you had absolutely no idea what the fuck to do. How on earth has this happened? Ladybug looks between the two of you, the confusion plastered over his face.
"That's my wife. Not yours." Tangerine says, the expression on his face is unreadable, he didn't look angry.. but he wasn't happy to see you that's for sure.
Ladybug just starts laughing, clearly he doesn't believe it. But he soon stops once neither of you laugh with him. "Wait.. is this true?"
"Yes." You reply.
"You're married to this geezer?!" Tangerine says, he looked like he was going to kill someone, his fists were clenched and his breathing was quick. You couldn't help but let fear wash over you.
"No obviously not- we're on a mission." You sigh trying to find the words to explain yourself.
"I'm so fucking confused right now." Ladybug says, you glare at him and he quickly shuts up.
You lean against the counter and run your hands through your hair, Tangerine just stares at you and you get a proper look at him. He was roughed up, splattered with blood and messy hair. In any other context you'd be drooling over him.
"You're working with him to get the case?" Tangerine questions, crossing his arms.
"...yes," you awkwardly pick your nails, this whole situation was throwing you off, it felt weird between you and Tan now considering basically your whole marriage was a lie. Looking at him you wondered what else you didn't know.
"You lied to me." Tangerine walks closer to you.
"You lied to me." You narrow your eyes at him, standing up straight you raise an eyebrow at him.
"Well this is fucking weird," Ladybug says, you and Tan in sync tell him to shut up, and he does.
"We can talk about this later, I need that case." You say.
"No. You're not leaving my side, there's someone else running around here, I can't have anything happening to you."
A sense of relief washes over you as you learn he doesn't completely hate you anymore. Maybe your marriage wouldn't go to crap, but there was absolutely no way you'd be staying by his side like some helpless victim.
"No. I need the case, I can protect myself. And I will, I don't need you to hold my hand."
"(Y/N).." Tan starts.
"No." He just nods in response and passes you his gun, you take it and put it into your pocket, the air is filled with deadly silence. That is until Lemon walks in.
"There you are... oh (Y/N)." Lemon says, he stops dead in his tracks and does a take back. "(Y/N)?!" His face drops and he sends an alarming look to Tangerine who just shakes his head in response.
"What the fuck?!" You look between the two men, you truly couldn't be more taken aback.
Lemon nervously laughs. "Are you enjoying Japan? We had a change of plans, you know work is so unpredictable these days." He looks to Tangerine for help, he just runs his hand over his face whilst sighing.
"She knows everything and she's working with this dickhead." He points to Ladybug who just raises his hand.
"Right... well um great," Lemon falters you found it funny how confused he was, he never was great in awkward situations.
"Okay this was interesting but we've got places to be, come on Kitty."
You take one final glance at your husband who looks extremely stumped and Lemon who just looks puzzled, you weren't sure how the rest of this mission would go but you just knew you couldn't wait for it to be over.
You leave with Ladybug to go find the case again and leave the train, you knew Tangerine would be fine so you felt confident in your decision to leave him. Besides you had a mission to carry out and that you were going to do.
"How come I didn't know you were married?"
You sigh. "Because it is private information, I didn't want to put him in danger."
"He seems lovely.." Ladybug says, the sarcasm dripping off his words.
"He is lovely, you don't know him."
"Neither do you- he's an assassin and you had no idea."
"Shut up. We just need to get the case and get off this stupid fucking train."
You both make it to the first class longue and there the case is, back in its original spot. "That was not there when I looked." You furrowed your brows.
"You mustn't've looked properly."
"I fucking did, ripped the whole place apart."
Before you knew it you were in yet another fight, the Hornet lunged at you making you fall onto the table, you hit her over the head with the case allowing you to get up. It was a messy fight, arms and legs flying around. But here you are with a venomous needle inching towards you throat, you flip her onto her back and pry the needle out of her hand. You inject it into her neck and watch her face drop.
"Being killed by your own methods, that's dark." You watch as blood pours out of her eyes and her throat starts to close over, her struggled gasping and choking fills the area. You get up and watch as she dies, withering in pain.
"Fuck that was close." Ladybug sighs.
"Come on, we need to go."
The two of you make your way back through the train and down to economy. That's where you see Tangerine standing pointing a gun at a girl in pink with a bob. His expression is devasting yet full of a rage you've never seen in your life, it makes your stomach drop. Something has happened. You quicken your pace, Tangerine sees you and lowers the gun.
"What happened?" You ask, he looked borderline psychotic.
"Lemon, she." He points the gun at her, "killed Lemon."
You face drops and you look back to Ladybug.
"He's lying! Please help me, please." The girl pleads. You turn to her and punch her square in the face, knocking her back into the chairs. You punch her again in the throat, the move makes her blackout and you turn back to your husband.
"Fuck this job we need to get off this train."
Ladybug grabs the case and you three walk back the opposite way, ready to exist. Your mind is fuzzy and your head hurts, there's no way Lemon is dead, that reality devasts you. Lemon was like a brother to you, it broke your heart knowing things would never be the same. As you walk out of the train Ladybug doesn't follow you and Tangerine.
"Ladybug?" You look back to see him struggling against the girl in pink. "For fuck sake!"
"Just leave him, come on."
"No. I can't leave him. We need to help him." You walk back onto the train, Tangerine following you.
With much struggle you get the girl in pink on the ground, using zip ties you found in her bag you tie her hands together and force her into the seat. The four of you sit waiting for the next stop. No one uttering a word. A man comes to sit at the table next to you four, he immediately recognises the girl, she tells him his son is dead, his grandson next, yet he was one step ahead of her, so she sits useless and defeated, a look of triumph overcomes you, you wanted nothing more than to slit her throat but you knew she would have later value, so you leave her sitting there wallowing in her stupidity.
The man tells you all his story, you pick up on his wisdom, feeling nothing but trust towards him. So when he tells you all to follow him- bar the girl, you do. He takes you to the bathroom where his son, and Lemon lay. His son turns out is not dead and reaches for his father. Your eyes fixate on Lemon, unlike Tangerine who is leaning against the wall beside the bathroom. Your heart thumps as Lemon somehow yawns? His eyes open and he looks around, extremely confused.
"Am I in hell?" He questions.
"Oh my god!" You gasp, you turn to Tangerine who instantly stands behind you looking at Lemon.
He rips open his shirt, showing his bullet proof vest, where bullets sat, things were piecing together but you were extremely confused as to what exactly happened.
"Oh.. you drank the water." Concludes Ladybug.
"Water? What water?" Tangerine asks, looking to your partner.
"The water spiked with sleeping powder."
All of you go to sit, awaiting the next stop.
"I can't believe you're an assassin." Lemon says. As he sits opposite you.
"I guess I'm full of surprises," You shrug.
"We need to get off this bastarding train, no more being held back." Tangerine says, you could tell he wasn't half with it. None of you were but he was right.
"We need a plan," Ladybug says. You all agree, and the elder comes up with roles for each of you to properly execute the plan.
You go with Lemon to try and control the trains route, Tangerine goes with Ladybug to hand in the case and cause a distraction whilst the elder goes to take on the white death, something dramatic he said about getting his revenge.
"Fuck it's all in Japanese. There was no Thomas episodes in Japanese." Lemon scowls.
"It's fine, we'll figure it out." You respond trying to be optimistic.
"Okay, we just have to slow this down. Fucking stupid thing! Fucking slow down." Lemon curses.
"So far so good." Ladybug says as he approaches you both, "you can stop the train."
"We don't know how to fucking work this shit!" You groan trying to suppress your frustration.
Lemon and Ladybug go back and fourth, you head hurts from listening to them. Suddenly two men come through the door shooting their guns, you all duck down to shield yourselves from the bullets. You and Lemon lunge at the men, taking them down whilst leaving Ladybug to stop the train. One of the men had you up against the wall, hand over you throat choking you, you felt the life slowly draining your body and with every passing second you become more and more weak. You watch Lemon trying to take down two other men, he doesn't know you're being straggled. Just as you are about to accept your fate, Tangerine comes in, knocking the man to the ground and shooting him in the head. You gasp for air your fingers gently caressing your tender throat, Tangerine is instantly at you.
"Are you okay love?"
You nod and he strokes your cheek, a great sense of comfort overrides you, then he and goes to help Lemon take down the other two men. Whilst they do that Ladybug finally figures out how to stop the train. Or so you thought, the manual book flies out the window and the train collides with the one in front, you all grip onto something. Another two men make their way up to the driving cart, which you all in a group effort defeat. Ladybug starts pulling out all sorts of wires which make the slow down and ride right into a wall, sending you all flying forward through the train as it destructs its way through a village. You land laying on a patch of dirt, Tangerine beside you. You heard a gunshot and jump up, you see The White Dead dead with his brains blown.
You two make your way over to where Ladybug, the elder and his son are, not even two minutes later the girl in pink comes with a machine gun, talking about her fate and luck, which doesn't last long before she's hit with a moving vehicle.
"What the fuck..?" You sigh, you look to Tangerine who looks just as puzzled as you. Ladybug goes off with Maria your handler who came to get you both, you decided to stay with Tangerine and the two of you go to find Lemon.
"Can't believe I didn't realise you were an assassin. Seems so obvious now." Tangerine says, taking your hand.
"Yeah well I didn't notice either, besides. I think I'm done with it, today was too messy."
Tangerine nods in agreement, you both find Lemon who turns out was driving the truck that hit the girl. The three of you decide to go home, of course Lemon didn't rest until he found out the ins and outs of your work. You were relieved to know everything Tangerine had ever told you- besides obviously his job was true. Maybe this wasn't such a bad thing after all.

warnings: 18+ (minors dni), thigh riding, blink and there’s a mention of sex, & cursing
"Taaan,” you sing-song as you approach his study, “I was thinking since you have off for the next few days that we could try out that new posit-...What?"
The hand ghosting the sliding motion of your shirt away from your shoulder pauses, after catching your boyfriend hiding a scowl behind his latest novel.
What is that about? Is that story bad? Did something go wrong today at work? Has he forgotten to get a briefing completed on time? Could you have forgotten to remind him of a chore he wanted to get done? Where was this about to be coming from? You hesitate at the door trying to gauge what or who he's about to direct his anger at.
You watch him. Wanting to get an idea of what mood he's in today or if he could just be mentally, and or physically exhausted. The silence fills your ears, making them tingle, as you fight against the loud self-depreciation to see if you can hear him say anything. Listening for an audible sign that he wants you to come near.
As he abruptly clears his throat, your foot twitches the spasm of forward motion. He then lowers his book shield to do the 'eyes piercing daggers into you' clique. You decide to hold yourself still in this spot while leaning against the doorframe.
“You're the one who gets to decide when we can have chats then, is it, yea? Now that you feel up to it. Interesting." His accent was thick. "God, you really chose to be a proper snarky bitch before." Your smile drops as he eyes you a minute longer before turning back to his reading.
You inch towards the ottoman. Pouting and carefully lowering his book from his face. You sling your leg over his splayed one. You're half-sat down but partially straddling him. His left hand involuntarily goes to squeeze the fleshy skin of your thigh, while the right unwaveringly holds up the book.
"I said I was sorry. I'm not a morning person. Cut it out, baby, I want you,” you whimper into his collar. His warm hand stops clutching you, so he can turn a page.
You cup his bulge and rub him slowly through the front of his pants. Kissing your way up along his jaw. He lets you press a soft peck against his lips before he's cunningly dodging the next. A beat passes with you begging softly in his ear, while your hand continues the ministrations. The second you thought you felt his erection begin to swell, Tangerine jerks your wrist away from the hardening of his clothed cock.
"Please, Tan?"
Your hand slowly moves back over to rub along his inner thigh. The grip he had on you has lessened. Seemingly he was becoming unfocused. But then he stills your stroking fingers,
"I'm busy. How about you show me how much you want me by getting off on my thigh, hm?” His challenging eyebrows flick up to look at you before quickly averting eye contact. “If you do, then maybe I’ll consider it an apology for your attitude today.”
You whine and press yourself down against him, so you’re properly straddling his left thigh.
You rock your hips. Leaning forward and slicking up his pants as you kiss his neck. He tilts his head to allow you more access. A low rumble in his throat causes you to breathe praises into his skin.
You feel his jaw clench with every other whimper that escapes past your lips. He keeps flipping through the distraction he’s holding. He is normally so handsy. You don’t think he has even spared you a single glance since you started using him to get off.
His attention seems to be focused on the novel. Straining, a bit, but it's like he just wants to be a dramatic jack-ass and refuse to give in to your seduction. Even though you both know how horny he normally gets from you simply running your fingers through his hair.
You can admit that you were a bit moody waking up to say goodbye before his mission today. But it was like four in the morning! Now it's 6 PM, you're out of your office job, and you've had a coffee today. So now that you’re fully awake and he’s not occupied with work, you're just wanting to mess around with your sexy boyfriend.
What's the problem here?
You're almost at the point of huffing out an annoyed sob while apologizing for spoiling his quiet time and clambering off of him. Until his fingers slide forward to rub at your clit. Your hand flying to his shoulder to steady yourself.
Thank God! He's now assisting you by using himself to get you off.
"Fuck. Just like that, Tan."
Your hips rock down to rub against his digits. Tangerine suddenly pulls his hand away to turn the page. Not missing a beat to lick his fingers before sliding the papers together. This time you let out an audible scoff.
You're convinced and frustrated that he’s actually getting his reading done and paying no attention to you. Slowing down your hips a bit, you keep a watchful eye on him. Trying to find a single notion that he really is uninterested and that you should leave him be. You cannot get a read on him. His face is stoic. But that hand of his is again moving away from the book to press his thumb against your clit. Rubbing it to silently coax you to speed up your movements.
Little to your knowledge, this interaction is truly sending him into a spiral. He is fighting off every urge to jump you, pin you to this ottoman, take control, and fuck into you. He has been sneaking glances over at your flushed face, tilting his chin down to watch your hips rock against him, or dipping his finger into you to slick you up further and himself with your arousal.
Clearly, you haven’t picked up on his fake irritation because you haven’t called him out on it yet. You must really think he’s upset that you complained that you had to wake up early just to kiss him goodbye before he left for work. The funny thing is he’s not. He got a kiss and went on with his day. To your defense, he knows he kept you up late the night prior. Tangerine’s just thankful the mission was a short one for he and Lemon. And he gets to spend more time with you at home.
Although, he's very interested to see how desperate he can get you for his cock. He's loving this attention and doesn't plan on letting up the act now.

Summary: You had been having a hard time recently and it all hits a wall when Tangerine comes home early in a bad mood and accidentally scares you. You end up sobbing in his arms.
************************************************************************
Most people you knew assumed that in your relationship, you were the one who kept both of you down to earth, and most of the time that was true.
You and Tangerine had been together for a while which meant that you had been present for multiple Tangerine tantrums, as you and Lemon liked to jokingly call them. Sometimes the boys would have a job go wrong and Tan would come home upset, steam practically coming out of his ears, rambling about what could have gone better and why. Sometimes Tangerine would come home from a particularly scary job, like the job in Kyoto that he refused to tell you anything about, and practically go mute - shut off the world, and take a break from everything. Whatever he needed to do to decompress — but he never, ever aimed any of it at you. His anger or frustration was shared, but he always made sure that you understood he was not upset with you, he’d just had a rough job that go around.
Tangerine’s many moods and how he processed his job never bothered you. The man had a pretty tough job and whatever way he chose to process that job was up to him. Plus you enjoyed taking care of him – when he let you. It seemed that he took care of you in every other aspect of life. The man paid for anything and everything you wanted or looked at, so being there for him made you feel important. It had taken him a while to get used to the constant reassurance, trust and love from you, but he now greatly accepted it.
You on the other hand were still having a hard time letting Tangerine be there for you emotionally. Being vulnerable was not one of your strong suites.
Tangerine’s jobs usually took him away from you for long periods, and usually took a lot out of him. So whenever Tan was home, you didn’t want to bother him with what was going on in your mundane life. You felt like your worst days would probably be a wonderful one compared to some of his bad days. So when Tan was home, and even when he was on a job, you didn’t usually tell him the full truth of how you were doing or how your day went. You would conveniently leave out the part where you accidentally dropped your keys into the garbage somehow, or how you dropped your phone in a muddy puddle, or how the day had been an extremely overstimulating one for whatever reason. You usually could step away for a second, take a breather, and you were back to being fine. It wasn’t that big of a deal, you just needed to push it down and enjoy the time you had now with Tan before he went away again for gods know how long.
Sometimes when Tangerine was on a trip, you would come home and have a good cry for a solid ten minutes and then get on with making dinner or any other chore needing to be done. And today was no different.
This March had felt like the longest month you had ever lived through. So many little things kept going wrong. Every day seemed to be a little bit worse. And you hadn’t seen Tangerine in exactly fifteen days. You had woken up late that morning because your phone apparently hadn’t charged the night before, then you couldn’t find your keys, you had spilled coffee on yourself right before walking into work, you had a coworker who had made a rude comment to you, your boss had reprimanded you for something that wasn’t your fault, and to top it off on your way home someone had rear ended your car, sending you to the hospital to be checked out where you had sat in a room for three hours, alone, waiting to be discharged.
You just wanted to go home, crawl into bed and disappear. The regular day had been a horrible one anyways and sitting in a cold, scary hospital room alone where you had been examined and poked about fifteen thousand times did not help. You also hadn’t heard from your partner in almost a full 48 hours.  Your anxiety was now through the roof. You were tired. You were sore. You were sad. You wanted to go to bed.
You unlock the front door and step into the dark and quiet place that belonged to you and Tangerine. You quickly slip off your shoes by the front door and head towards the kitchen where you set your keys and phone down on the island counter.
You tap your phone screen – 8:43PM and no notifications. You take a deep breath in, and let out a sigh as you rub your eyes, willing the headache of the day to go away. It didn’t work.
‘Maybe some water and a snack would help,’ you think to yourself as you head towards the refrigerator. You quickly grab some water and a snack and grab your phone before making your way to the living room where you slumped onto the couch. While eating your snack, the thought of Tangerine can’t help but come to your mind.
You pick your phone off of the couch cushion, unlocking it and going to your last text thread from Tangerine.
Tangerine had texted you the morning before, a simple, ‘Good morning, love. Thinking of you, hoping to be home in the next few days. X’
When you had woken up to the text, it had made you smile. But now that it had been two days of no responses from him or Lemon, it felt more like a taunt. You were used to Tangerine being very hit or miss when it came to communication while he was on the job – it was for safety. But with this being one of the longest jobs he and Lemon had ever been on, it made you nervous. So you read back over your texts.
7:03AM: morning tan – hope you and lem are keeping each other safe! im ready for you to be  home safe again ♡
1:43PM: a package was delivered for you. im not sure if its a new suit, work stuff or something else so im leaving it in the garage for when your home lol
9:42PM:  im headed to bed, but wanted to let you know im just thinking about you. i love you and hope youre safe wherever you boys are at. get home soon ♡
11:32AM: missing you extra today, as cheesy as that sounds. hope you arent getting yourself into too much trouble
You roll your eyes at the last text you had sent. That was a little too cheesy even for your taste, let alone Tangerine’s.
You start typing out a message to Tangerine. Thinking about telling him a little about your day, or even just telling him you missed him and loved him and couldn’t wait to just see him face-to-face again. But you erase the half written message, worrying that he might get annoyed by your abundance of needy texts that didn’t really have a need to be sent.
You let out another sigh as you turn your phone off, setting it on the coffee table in front of you along with the trash of your snack. You grab the throw blanket laying across the back of the couch and slump further down the couch until you’re laying down with your head supported by the arm rest. You absentmindedly look out the window next to you.
You were glad you had left the lights off in the flat. The lights of the city outside the window allowed for a soft glow to seep into the room. Without the lights on you were able to see the quiet street and watch the people of the night go about their business. You wanted some sort of distraction, but the thought of scrolling on your phone or turning the television on seemed like it would make the headache you had even worse.  It also allowed for your brain to wander gently between thoughts.
You wonder where the people on the street below are going.
You wonder where they’re coming from.
You wonder where Tangerine and Lemon are.
You wonder if they were safe, if something bad had happened.
And before you realized it, your eyes had grown heavy and you had dozed off.
You jolted as you were rudely awoken by the refrigerator door shutting harshly. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears as you realized you weren’t in the place alone. You didn’t move at first as you opened your eyes to see who was there. You could make out the silhouette of a man standing in the kitchen, illuminated by a small amount of light coming in through the window from the street lights. Tangerine hadn’t called or texted you before you had fallen asleep so you weren’t sure if it was him. You were hoping it was him, if it wasn’t you didn’t know what you would do.
“Tan?” you half whispered.
“Yeah.” He says dryly. You watched as he turns towards your voice and flips on the light above the kitchen island. You blink a few times to adjust to the bright light and give him a look over.
He looks tired, or maybe annoyed? You couldn’t really place the emotion, but it wasn’t a positive one. You notice his suit jacket is laid over the back of one of the barstools with his suitcase propped up against it. You look from the jacket, back to him and notice a few bruises and small cuts that range from his face to the exposed upper chest sticking out from a slightly unbuttoned undershirt.
You watch as Tangerine quietly moves around the kitchen gathering a variety of things to make some sort of meal. His movements are sharp and more than once he lets a cabinet shut a little roughly.
You clear your throat as you readjust how you’re sitting so you can see Tangerine better. “I didn’t realize you’d be back home tonight. How did the job go?”
He looks up at you with half a sandwich on the way to his mouth. “D’rather not talk ‘bout it, love.” He quickly says before taking the last bite of his dinner.
You watch as he puts his dishes in the sink and washes his hands. You watch as he dries them off and then places his hands on either side of the sink, almost bracing himself. You could tell something was stuck on his mind as he takes a breath in and closed his eyes.
You begin to play with the blanket laid over you out of nerves, avoiding looking at him. You couldn’t read Tangerine’s mood and you worried something serious had happened.
“Why didn’t you wake me up when you got in? You scared me when y–”
You were cut off by Tangerine.
“Wouldn’t have to be concerned about who had gotten in if ya’d keep the front door locked, would ya now?” He snaps, raising an eyebrow and cocking his head at you. He hadn’t raised his voice, but the look on his face shares the irritation he has.
The tone in his voice had taken you by surprise and had caused you to stop fidgeting with the blanket and look up at him. Tangerine wasn’t prone to snapping at you out of nowhere like he just had. Even after a particularly bad job, he usually was able to keep his aggravation not geared towards you.
“Excuse me?” You question him, your voice faltering as you look at him. His face was tense. You couldn’t pin if he was truly irritated with you or if he was taking out his last fifteen days on you.
“Ya left the fuckin’ front door unlocked. Again, love.” He readjusts his stance and stands up straight, with his arms crossed. You let out a small sorry, but either he doesn’t hear it or doesn’t care as he continues on.
“I’ve told ya so many times, ya got ta keep it locked.” He drags a hand down his face, and rubs his chin. “Do you know how dangerous it could be? What happens if some prick comes lookin’ for me? When me and Lemon aren’t here, you’ve got–”
This time you cut him off. “Tan, I apologized. It was a fucking accident. Okay?”
You couldn’t even remember if you had or hadn’t locked the fucking door when you got home. All you remember is wanting to just be inside and hidden from the day. And you start to tear up just thinking about the last few weeks you had had.
“Accident or– if someone – it is dangerous, darling. Do you know–” he cuts himself off as he looks directly at you. At this point tears are streaming down your face and you’re wiping them off of your cheeks.
“Tangerine. Please. For the love of god. It was an accident. I didn’t mean to leave the god damned fuckin’ door unlocked. I don’t even remember– I–”
It becomes harder to speak the more you talk. You hadn’t meant to just break down. But the combination of the last few weeks, being startled awake and the tone of Tangerine, you just couldn’t not let it all out.
You rub your face with both your hands as you take a shaky breath in and look up towards Tangerine. You realize he had made his way across the distance from the kitchen island to the coffee table as he stood a few feet away from you. The features of his face had softened, he had a look of sadness on his face.
“I know you’re afraid when you leave me someone will show up, it was an accident. I’m fine now. Okay? Just let up, Tan.” You can’t even try to stop the tears now.
“Love, m’sorry.” he sits down at the edge of the couch, “I just worry. So, so much when I’m not ‘ere. Especially when I’m gone so fuckin’ long. ‘Didn’t mean to snap, it was just a shit job. M’sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you, my love.”
“It wasn’t just you, Tan. Its… It’s just been such a day. It’s been such a month.” You sniffle and wipe another tear off of your face. You take a deep, shaky breath. “I’ve really missed you.”
“Oh, darlin’. I’ve missed you as well, more than I’d probably like to admit. How about a hug? Is ‘t okay if I get closer?” He asks, setting a hand close to your crossed legs on the couch.
You sniffle and nod your head.
At this point Tangerine readjusts himself to where he is fully sitting on the couch. He pulls you into him and holds you tightly, wrapping one of his arms around your head and pulling it to the crook of his neck. He kisses your head as you further break down.
“I’m so sorry. You just got home and I don’t mean to be like this. I just, I had such a bad day and then you scared me waking me up like that and you’re upset with me, I know it’s scary when you leave and you can’t be here making sure I’m safe. I know you just got back and you were gone for so long and–” you wrap your arms around his waist and begin to cry harder.
You hadn’t meant to upset him in the first place. You knew he always worried about you, and you felt even worse that you were sobbing into his chest, making him worry even more.
“Tangerine, I’m sorry. I know you don’t want to–”
You're cut off by Tangerine hugging you a little closer.
“Love, it’s okay. M’not upset with you, I was just being a right fuckin’ asshole, yeah? I didn’t really mean what I said. You’ll always be safe as long as M’here. Wha’s happened? Wha’s wrong?” Tangerine says while he starts to gently run a hand over your hair.
“One thing just hasn’t happened, it’s just been so many little things. And you’ve been so busy with work. Tan I’ve missed you. And I didn’t mean to make you mad as soon as you got home. I hadn’t even realized I didn’t lock the door.” You say, squeezing your arms around him even tighter. If you could be any closer to the man, you would be, but you don’t think it’s physically possible.
You take a deep breath again with a sniffle, gaining more composure before starting again.
“I just got home tonight and I just wanted to go to bed, Tan. I barely even remember what all I did when I got home. I’m sorry. I don’t want you to have to worry or to be mad at me.” You sniffle once more and bring a hand up to wipe your eyes.
“Darlin’, I promise I’m not upset with you.” Tangerine says petting your head again and kissing your temple.
“But you’re tone. Tan, you’ve never spoken to me like that. You were mean, you sounded mad.” You sniffle again. God. You needed a tissue, but you weren’t going to risk moving out of Tangerine’s arms. You didn’t think you could bear to look him in the eyes, even if you had stopped sobbing.
“M’sorry, ya know I’ve been with Lemon for the last few weeks and I’ve been dealing with right arseholes. It just slipped, yeah? It isn’t right of me, but it just happened. I promise I’m not upset with you or even mad at you – I could never be mad at you, love.”
He lets out a sigh before pulling back from you for a second, adjusting you both in a way where he can look into your eyes. He wipes away some of the left over tears on your face
“I promise I am not mad at you. And I promise I won’t bring my work tone back home to you.” He says, making sure to emphasize each word a little slower than he usually would.
Your eyes trail over his face, looking at the bruises that scatter his body closer than you previously could. “Okay,” you say quietly, realizing just how tired you were and you could imagine Tangerine felt the same.
“What can I do to make it up to you? What can I do to make up for the last sixteen days?” He holds your face in his hands softly, rubbing a thumb over your cheek. You let out a yawn, followed by a soft smile.
“You don’t have to do anything, Tan. It’s okay, really.” You bring your hands up and place them over his. “Let’s just go to bed, yeah? We can make up for the last few weeks after some sleep. I know you’ve got to be tired – not to be rude, but you look like hell.”
Tangerine lefts out a soft chuckle, and you smile once more. He leans forward and places a soft kiss on the tip of your nose, and then your lips.
“Let’s put you to bed then. But I’ve got to shower before bed, love.” He helps untangle you from the throw blanket you were previously wrapped in and then stands himself. You walk to the barstool in the kitchen grabbing the handle of his suitcase as he grabs his suit jacket, and you both head towards the bedroom.
“Well I’m glad you made that decision by yourself. I wasn’t going to say anything, but you do smell like work.” You say jokingly, scrunching your nose at him and letting out a small laugh.
Tangerine’s face breaks out in a grin before he throws his suit jacket towards the hamper and turns to you. You go to set his suitcase by his side of the bed when you’re suddenly blinded by Tangerine coming up from behind you and engulfing you in the shirt he was just wearing.
While your back was turned, Tangerine had unbuttoned the rest of his shirt and had now cocooned you in it. “Shoulda kept your mouth shut, love.” He laughs as you try to push him away from you.
You laugh as you turn around, now facing his chest. “Jesus, Tangerine– you smell so bad.” You duck down and out of his arms, falling back onto the bed before Tangerine tackles you flat onto the bed.
“It's the wonderful smell of a man who’s not showered in three days, dear.” He begins to shower you in kisses as you try to push him away between laughs.
“Tan, EW! Go make it zero again!” You laugh as he gives you a final, overdramatic kiss on your cheek as he gets off of you, throwing his shirt into his hamper before heading to the bathroom with a “Whatever you say, lovely.”
You smile to yourself as you wipe your face, attempting to wipe off the grime you felt from Tangerine’s attack.
While Tangerine quickly showers, you plug both of your phones into their chargers and set them on their respective bedside tables. You also change into your own night clothes before turning off the overhead light and crawling into the bed. A few seconds later Tangerine follows suit and you move closer to him.
“Better now, yeah?” He says, pulling the collar of his shirt out and offering it to you to smell.
You swat his shirt away before snaking an arm around his waist, and giving him a kiss on his jawline.
“Much better, thank you.”
You smile to yourself as you lay your head onto his chest, and Tangerine scoots closer to you letting his arm snake around your waist and pulling you tight to him as he gives your forehead a kiss. You had missed this, you had missed him.
You knew you and Tangerine would have a chat in the morning about how he was doing, and what had happened with you, and how much you had missed the other. Lemon would probably come around and would tell you about how much Tangerine whined about missing you the entire trip, which would cause a spat between the two. But for now, all you could think about was how at home you felt. How comfortable you were. How happy you were that your Tangerine was finally home, safe in your arms.

Okay em so I just saw 'The Fall Guy' in my local theater...
This guy. This character. Tom Ryder. I'm just absolutely in love with him. My little dumb sweet self obsessed babygirl.
I know it's not officially out yet in most countries. BUT. I decided to make a writing come back for him. So from now on i'm taking requests for Tom Ryder. Can be anything you want.

Don't take the warmth with you
Sum: A one shot where Tangerine has to leave for a job and you aren't too happy about that.
Tumblr media
Tipsy on wine and drunk on lust you had fallen asleep late last night. Tangerine had done the same. The cool night had your man pressed to your chest, still smelling of sex and smiling from love.
It would take a truly cruel man to ruin this moment. So it shouldn’t be surprising that Lemon would be that man. His ring tone really was the only thing that would get Tangerine off the bed and sitting up at this hour anyway.
“What? Yeah, I know it’s you, what do you want, Mate?” Tangerine asks, sitting off the side of the bed. His back towards you.
In the low light of the bedroom Tangerine’s back was never ending. Without thinking you reach out and gently touch just above the small of his back. He barely acknowledged it; other than the tiny jolt his body gives at your hand’s initial touch.
“Of course we’re going today. Fuck, you really call me at-.” There’s a slight movement as Tangerine squints at his phone screen. “Four in the morning to ask me this?”
It’s hard, almost impossible, to roll your body over in bed. Pressing your face against his back and giving him a kiss. Your arms wrapping around his center in an embrace that he leans slightly back into. His free hand resting on your arms clasp tightly around his waist.
“We have hours before we need to be there, Lemon. The hell are you even awake for?”
More kisses are given to his back. Along with little nips that demand his attention.
“Are you shitting me?” Tangerine whisper yells, ripping himself out of your arms to start walking around the bedroom. “Fucking AM, fucking PM, give me a minuet.”
The aggressive slamming hanging up of Tangerine’s call is amplified in the quiet bedroom. Along with the rapid slamming of drawers and the gun safe Tangerine is currently digging through.
Half-awake and even less alive you manage to mumble out a “What?” before your face falls into the mattress.
“I’m so sorry, Darling,” He says, jumping up to pull his pants into position. “I got my departure time wrong and, yep, fucking late.”
He’s leaving. That wakes you up.
“Late? You’re already leaving?” You ask, already knowing the answer.
Even in the dark you could see the pause this gave Tangerine. He doesn’t stop moving but he does slow down. Finishing with his tie but taking a moment to come closer and kneel in front of you.
“I’m sorry, I am so sorry, Love.” He whispers. “It will be less then a week. Then I will take a break for just as long. For two weeks, a fucking month.”
Just like with his back you reach out and gently touch his dangling tie. Running the fabric through your fingers while he talks. Something to focus on other than your own disappointment or Tangerine’s sad eyes.
“Do you even need to go this time? Can’t Lemon do it himself? I mean, we really don’t even need the money.” You say, now holding his tie in almost a grip.
“First of all; Lemon isn’t going or doing shit without mean. And I personally like living in a penthouse with my bird dressed in pearls and rubies.” Tangerine retorts. Covering your tie holding hand with his own. “It’s gonna be two months, baby. And it’s gonna be the best two months of your fucking life.”
It doesn’t matter what you say or do now. Tangerine is leaving.
“And I get more pearls?” You ask, as if that were the only reason you were with Tangerine.
“I’ll find you a pearl the size of your head?” he promises, giving your hand a kiss on the knuckles.
“Okay, watch out for Lemon.” You say, immediately followed by a kiss from Tangerine.
It’s a hard and deep kiss the presses you back into the bed. The hold on his tie and an arm around his neck kept him close. When he releases your lips you simply hold him in a hug. Letting go of his tie and simply holding him tightly.
“I’m sorry…” Tangerine says, moving your arms from where they hold him.
“I know,” You give one smaller kiss before he leaves your embrace completely. “Be safe, watch out for Lemon.”
Tangerine smiles, grabbing his coat from the counter. “Always do. I love you, but I got a train to catch.”

oh  🥺
not going to do all my tags bc this is quite a short one (thank u breakfastonuranus for the gif!)
Tumblr media
Tangerine hates children. Definitely. Truly. No, he doesn’t smile to himself when a baby locks eyes and starts grinning at him at a café. He doesn’t enjoy the sound of kids playing outside in the street, reminding him of his own childhood with Lemon. And he definitely doesn’t want to have one of his own.
Ever.
You’re in the supermarket together. Boring task, but it has to be done. You’ve filled up a basket when you really should have gotten a trolley. The two of you had playfully bickered about it until you relented and went back to the front of the shop, so he’s standing waiting for you in the cereal aisle. As he eyes up all the shite that lines the shelves, Tangerine becomes aware of a presence.
A little girl is standing next to him. She looks maybe five years old. She’s staring at him with a singular intensity only a child can muster.
“‘Scuse me,” she says, as if she hasn’t already got his attention. He checks and there’s nobody else around. Definitely talking to him then.
“Erm, yeah?”
She points a finger to a shelf far above her head, to a box with a unicorn on it. The sugar content seems alarmingly high.
“Can you get that for me?” she asks, then as an addendum, “Please.”
Oh, right. He might claim to not like children, but he doesn’t feel a particular urge to tell her to fuck off. He turns around and does as he’s bid instead. Grabs the box, holds it out to her. The little girl takes it politely from his hand. It’s about half as big as she is, it’s a bit comical.
“Thanks,” she says, with a grin full of missing milk teeth. And for a moment, just a moment, he sees himself with his own little girl, picking her up to grab her cereal, maybe depositing her on his shoulder afterwards. How you’d glow with pride at your little family. How happy he’d be as a family man himself.
“Don’t worry about it,” he says as she speeds off. He looks behind him, sensing someone, and sees you standing with a trolley; there’s a huge grin plastered on your face.
“Who was that?”
“Fuck knows. Some kid,” he replies, trying to maintain an air of nonchalance. You see through that in a second.
“Aww, you getting broody, Tan?”
He hates that word and harrumphs at the accusation.
Still. The image of there being three of you, rather than two, doesn’t leave him all day.

Values - Pt. 3 - Tangerine X Pregnant Reader
Reader gives birth and settles into her new life.
Warnings: Childbirth, dad vibes, so much fluff, nondescriptive sex hinted at.
Part one
Part Two
Tangerine Master Post
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bump keeping you apart, you allowed him to try and teach you how to dance. It was another rainy day and he was cooking you dinner.
“Come on now, relax a little.” You tried to loosen up when a weird feeling washed over you.
“Tan.” You whispered hands leaving his shoulders to crandle your stomach. Wetness pooled between your legs and you went white as a sheet. The moment you were waiting for but also dreading had arrived.
“Oh fuck.” he whispered staring at you. You nodded and he took off out the back door. “LEMON! LEMON - FUCK”
“WOT???”
“FUCKING TIME - IT’S TIME.”
You braced the countertop and tried to keep your breath. You thought about all the things you’d read in preparation, things were hazy. Anxiety making your mind a storming sea. There was no fucking way you were going to remember everything. Why didn't I write it down?
You took more deep breaths as Tangerine flew in through the back door again. He’d packed bags weeks ago keeping them by the front door just in case. At the time you took comfort in knowing it was ready to go and now you were extremely grateful.
He carried them to the SUV as Lemon pulled it up to the front steps. You figured you’d go upstairs and try to put on some makeup, something slightly more presentable than a hoodie, t-shirt - wet panties combo. From what you read, you had a bit of time.
Moving towards the front stairs Tangerine's arms caught you carrying you to the truck.
“Tan - no no we have time.” You tried to talk to him but the look he gave you was unmovable. He was beyond freaked out. He got you in the back seat. Buckled up he handed you a fresh pair of panties.
He got into the front seat and Lemon took off. You as discreetly as possible changed panties, wishing he'd thought of pants.
Contractions hit and you punched the seat in front of you.
“Just breath I’ve got you,” Lemon said before you could say anything you realized he was talking to Tangerine. One hand on the wheel and the other grabbing his shoulder.
Driving well over the limit you arrived at the ER. Tangerine insisted on carrying you in as Lemon ran ahead for a wheelchair. You were so out of it with nerves you didn't argue.
“How can we help?” The nurse at the front desk asked.
“My lady’s got a baby on the way.”
“Right, I’ll ask you some questions before checking you in.” She looked at you and smiled. Tangerine handed her a manilla envelope.
“Medical records”
You had no doubt he’d probably handed her a log of everything that had ever happened to you, with a wad of cash.
“Right.” The nurse looked as if she was trying not to laugh. Your face twisted up and you took a sharp breath.
“Fuck there she goes again, Chop-chop people! Let's go!” Lemon announced patting your back. They got you checked and quickly moved into a room.
Lemon took off to sit in the waiting room on standby in case you needed him. Tangerine spent every moment at your side, except for the occasional cigarette hanging out the window.
Every doctor that came in looked as if they were at gunpoint as Tan stared them down. All fears about having yourself on display or male doctors poking around down there vanished as you watched him stand next to them with his arms crossed.
You wanted to do it the old-fashioned way, nurses and doctors would come in offering to push drugs. You never had to argue with them. You’d shake your head and he would start up.
“My woman said no.”
You knew they weren't offended in the slightest. He’d stand in front of you letting you grip his forearms as you walked the halls up and down. You watched as their eyes followed him, knowing full well he’d won the best and hottest partner award.
You would ask for something and Lemon would show up with it within 10 minutes. Tan even went to the bathroom with the door open just to make sure no one bothered you.
When the time came he encouraged you as you almost broke his hand. Enduring every second of it.
Then the unbearable pain and pressure subsided and a noise rang out. A hearty, pissed-off scream rang out and you collapsed against the bed.
Tangerine moved from your side and you watched as he got handed the center of your universe. Small, sticky, and loud. You watched as his whole world shifted. His eyes filled with an adoration you never experienced. His eyes got misty and he came back to you.
You held the little girl in your arms. Looking at the way she settled. Tan’s arms came around the both of you. You felt him place his wet cheek to your head hiding his tears.
They took her to get her weighed and swaddled. As soon as she was in someone else's hands he sobered up. Going to follow them. Ensuring that they did it right.
“No.” He said firmly in the hallway and you felt the need to get up and figure out what was wrong.
“Look at her.” Lemon’s emotional voice rang out and you settled letting the nurses and doctors help sort you out.
“Quite the family you’ve got miss.” The nurse said giving you a smile.
Lemon carried her in tears streaming down his cheeks. Your daughter was wrapped in a Thomas wrap, that was the sure cause of the hallway commotion.
“She’s perfect.” He whispered handing her back to you. You all sat in silence watching her, wondering how something so magical and wholesome could come from such a messy and chaotic train ride.

Once you were cleared to leave the doctor came to give special instructions on how to care for the babe and yourself in the coming weeks. Tan took notes and argued different things he’d read making the woman flustered.
“Thanks for everything Doc.” He reached into one of the bags and pulled out a little gift baggy. In his many sleepless nights setting up college funds and other random stuff, he’d managed to sort out thank-you gifts for the staff.
“Why are you like this?” You looked at him with your head turned to the side.
“Oi’ lot’s of people do it. Very trendy at the moment” He challenged you back. You only shook your head and laughed.
____________________
You remembered the pain, but most of all you remembered it as the moment you realized what type of partner he was. Three months had gone by quickly and while you were sure that you loved him there were still doubts.
Ones that he managed to squash one by one.
If your breasts weren't directly attached to you, you felt like you’d rarely see her. He was shirtless 100% of the time holding her, singing her, talking to her…
He’d meal prepped and made all sorts of healing salves for your stitches. The first bit of recovery was actually relaxing despite the lack of sleep. Lemon was around cooking and helping. You couldn't remember a time in your life when people had taken such care of you.
He’d started referring to you as Momma Peach and her as little Cherry. Who needed real names anyway?
You continued your job from distance, your boss didn't mind the time difference and you got to design your office space. Things fell into a happy routine and you enjoyed living your life next to him.
Watching him shower with her pressed against his chest. The way she’d fall asleep to the two of you singing horribly. Waking up to Thomas playing on the TV and Lemon explaining rather complex psychology to her.
Tangerine made it very clear that his interest initially expressed on the train was still alive and well. Him kissing you breathlessly as the little one slept. Giving you no time to explain that you were most certainly out of order for a while. His skillful hands going to work on you leaving you properly worn out and satisfied at the end of every day. You enjoyed reciprocating, his praise ringing in your ears.
“Fuck” He let out a breath holding you tightly to his chest. “Best thing that ever happened to me.”
“She’s really something.” You whispered in agreement.
“Talking about you, love.”
“Oh.” Your fingers went to wrap around the pendant that he’d placed around your neck. “Tan?”
“Love?”
“What’s so special about this necklace?”
“That it rests overtop the most magnificent tits in history.” his rough hand came and lightly cupped your sore breast.
“Seriously.”You pushed.
“My dad gave it to my mum before he went out to sea. Said it would protect her while he was gone.” He let out a long breath. “But he died before I was born. My mum gave it to me, and said his love would follow me everywhere so long as I kept it on.”
Your heart twisted at the memory of him placing it around your neck. Before you agreed to anything, before you’d fallen for him. His love would stay with you everywhere. The sparrow tattoos on his forearms making a lot of sense suddenly.
“But I’m -” Your voice caught.
“Next to me forever. So it doesn't matter,” he answered in a lighter tone, giving you a squeeze.
“Forever you say?” You questioned.
“And ever and ever,” he answered kissing your neck.
“Big request coming from a guy without a ring” You teased. You felt him tense and realized you probably pushed it a bit too far. He shifted away from you moving around in the dark.
“Hey, Sorry - I was-”
“Peach?” He cut you off coming back onto the bed. He put the lamp on a dim setting and you rubbed your eyes as they adjusted.
“Yeah?”
“Will you marry me?”
Your eyes flew open to see him holding a small box with a diamond band inside. You froze, eyes wide. After a tense breath, you lunged at him.
“Yes!” You squealed before kissing him. Thankfully the little one stayed asleep, as you let him slide the ring on your finger. After a lot more kissing and banter you finally settled again his chest.
“So now with a ring on your finger are you going to call your family?”
“No” You answered immediately, body tensing. The thought of your small bundle of joy surrounded by sharks made your skin crawl.
“Hey, hey.” You felt his strong arms force you back against his chest. “Just curious. Don’t think I could be in the same room as your parents. Just wanted to know what you wanted that’s all.” He calmed you down.
“Family is just us, Lemon and Cherry. No one else.”
“Just how I like it, love” he kissed your temple. “Trust me, baby. You're both safe.”
You nodded and eventually drifted to sleep.
__________________________________________________
Cherry’s first word being Thomas and laughing hysterically while Lemon cheered and Tan swore.
Her running before she walks and causing absolute chaos. Except when Tan is around, then she insists on being carried.
You watching the love she has for her father and feeling yourself start to heal bit by bit. Especially when she’s scared, the feeling almost evaporates from her little body when he picks her up and talks to her.
The ever-growing Thomas the train collection in the house and how much joy it brings you when Tan bitches about it. They end up with a whole train track running in a circle around the living room - which continues to expand into other rooms.
Hanging out with her in the kitchen listening to the two boys cursing loudly as they try to put together her bedroom furniture.
Him having anxiety about her sleeping in her own room, setting up fancy baby monitors in case she needs him in the night.
Eventually having to send her to school, only for her to come home insisting Lemon take her to drop off the next day. Her trying to wingman Lemon off to her teacher. It actually working. Leaving her with Aunty Apple, a wedding and a cousin within the next few years.
Her growing up and Tan attending and helping with every school event. Making it very very very clear that she’s his whole world and if any parent or teacher pulls anything they would be dealing with him and Lemon.
Her being a teenager around 16 or so and suddenly parent intervention became more of a one-on-one thing with you as she asks questions about boys. Not wanting to stomp on her and force her to hide away, you agree to keep her concerns a secret. Tangerine going out of his mind trying to figure out what was going on to the point where you tell her to talk to him. Him handling it less than enthusiastically and suddenly needing to go chop a bunch of wood in the yard.
Her believing in all of Lemon's wisdom and telling him everything she’d observed about the boy she liked trying to make sure he was an alright risk before introducing him to you and Tan.
You finally explaining what she was worried about and that she was asking everyone else but him because she didn't want to disappoint him by bringing home someone he didn't like. She wanted his approval. Him suddenly understanding and feeling a sense of pride.
The boy coming over for dinner and you having to be the buffer between Lemon and Tan grilling him relentlessly. After dessert, there's a tense moment where Tan sighs and asks what movie he’s taking Cherry to. He then tells them that he hopes it’s better than the trailer. Cherry’s face lighting up because she realizes that means she can go out with him.
Her first heartbreak - him offering to kill the boy and you immediately going to grab his arm with genuine concern that puzzled her. Him bringing her downstairs to binge-watch her favorite shows and eat ice cream.
Gosh, I could go on and on.
Keeping requests for this open if people had an idea for another part.

hii angel!! really loved writing this!! link - but will summarise to save the search. thanks for requesting, hope like it💌 not back yet, this was in my drafts
MISSED CALLS.
tangerine x fem!reader
Tumblr media
summary. tangerine doesn’t answer your calls when he’s away on work. one night you think you hear a someone breaking in
word count. 968
warnings. angst!! little bit of hitting (reader hitting tan) hurt comfort bc it heals my heart and wound cleaning
The severity and extreme conditions of Tangerine's job often left you feeling vulnerable - alone hundreds of miles away as you wallow in worry. Castaway with no way of keeping tabs on him, no way of confirming whether he was dead or alive.
This particular mission had you in all sorts of perpetual grief - in an everlasting spiral of dread as you await his calls. For the last week, you eagerly lingered by the phone, waiting for him to give you updates - anything to let you know he was okay. But you never once received a call - not even a quick, measly text.
It was late, the evening dark and quiet as you set up in the kitchen, wanting to distract yourself from the fear of him being gone by making a hearty dish - cooking your favourite meal to ease the ache in your heart.
Pulling out the ingredients from the fridge, you place them on the counter beside the board and knife, setting everything down on the surface. You pause, stopping still as you hear the sound of faint scuffling from behind the front door - the noise of heavy footsteps.
You grab the large knife from the chopping block, clutching it tightly in your fist as you back away from the window, shrinking in on yourself to minimise being seen. Without a second to think otherwise, you find yourself following the sound, territorial footsteps leading the way.
Standing beside the grand wood door, clasping the chef's knife with the blade pointing down - holding it in the angle Tangerine taught you. Stilling your erratic breath, you pause, hearing a familiar groan from behind the oak.
The jingling of keys confirms your theory, and you yank the door open, the immediate feeling of relief easing your shoulders when you see him on the other side.
"Oh my god," you gasp, dropping the knife to the floor - pulling him in for a hug. "Oh my god," you repeat, shock evident in your breathy tone.
Tangerine drops his duffle bag, gripping you tighter, hands clasping around your mid back - holding you like he didn't want to let go. "I'm so sorry," he mutters, his words full of sorrow. He buries his face into the crook of your neck, clutching you in a tight embrace.
"Why didn't you call? I was so worried," you whisper, squeezing him, relishing the feeling of his upper body. "You didn't even text... nothing," your tone subtly changes, the juxtaposing emotion of anger slowly creeping in. "You didn't text."
You back your head away from its spot in his neck, pulling away. "A whole week— nothing. How could you do that?" you remark, tone growing pointed.
"I know, love. I know—" he starts, his words soft and heartfelt though you were in no mood to hear it this second.
"That's so fucked up," you retort, trying to pull away from his tight hold. "So selfish," pushing and hitting at his chest, attempting to free yourself. "Let go— you're so selfish. You— how could you do—" you continue, words breaking when he doesn't release you - his hold still firm around you even with your hitting. "A whole week."
"Darlin'," he coos, pulling you back in. "I know," he adds, words faint as he mutters them into your forehead - clear regret in his voice.
He slips his hands from their hold on your back, moving to the sides of your face, cupping your cheeks as if to calm you - ground you. Making you look him in the eye, and only then do you really see his face, finally taking note of the cuts and scrapes and bruises marking his skin.
"You're hurt," you mumble, teary eyes darting over his face.
He hums, pressing a kiss into your forehead. "Bit of'a bosh," he weakly smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
You give him that all-too-knowing look, a faint grin lining your lips as you slip from his hold, weaving your hand into his. Leading him into the kitchen, you guide Tangerine to the table, making him sit.
You rummage the cupboard under the sink, collecting the medical kit and a glass of water - setting it all down on the table before washing your hands. You pull out a chair beside him, dragging it closer to take a seat.
You tear open an antiseptic wipe and carefully dap it around the gash above his eyebrow, cleaning the bloody skin. "Lucky it doesn't need stitches," you murmur, eyes focused on the wound.
Tangerine doesn't respond, not even a hum - appearing as though he was preoccupied, just intently gazing at you as you mend him.
You part focus from his eyebrow and sift through the first-aid box. "I'm sorry for hitting you," you whisper, keeping your gaze down. "That was..." you raggedly exhale as you squeeze antibacterial cream onto your index, reaching to smear it on his skin. "That was stupid of me— shouldn't have done it," you shake your head, brushing off the thought.
His head cocks to the side in disapproval. "Don't say that," he softly scolds, his tone still warm and loving. "You don't need to be sorry... for anything."
You slump back into your seat, finally looking Tangerine in the eyes - finally meeting his gaze. "I thought you were dead," you admit, fidgeting with your fingers.
He notices your uneasy hands and places his over yours - large palms engulfing yours, the sentiment immediately comforting you. "I'm okay, darlin', I promise," he says softly, squeezing your hands. "I ain't ever gonna let that happen, okay? Ya'hear me? I will never let that happen."
"But what if when—"
"No," he cuts you off, his single word firm and gentle. "I will never put you through that."

Hello! Could you please write a Tangerine x Reader where the reader gets home from their job and start sobbing as soon as he asks them if everything is okay since Tangerine noticed that they seemed off- They tell him how shitty their workplace makes them feel, how their boss keeps trying to flirt with them... how do you think Tan would react to this?
i dont take requests anymore but this was too good of an idea for me to pass up
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Best case scenario Tangerine ends up beating the shit out of your sleazy boss for flirting with you
• Worst case scenario you turn on the news the next morning and see that the building you work—er, worked at—is now just a pile of ashes. A mysterious fire apparently. Although the dozen of missed calls from Lemon in your inbox tells you otherwise
• Lemon would essentially have to hold Tangerine down to stop him from doing anything else, rolling his eyes as his brother struggled against him on the ground, cussing up a storm
• "Fucken muppets the lot of them! Did you see wha' (Y/n) looked like last night. A zombie goddamnit—get the fuck off me you cunt I have people to kill!"
• You and Lemon cautiously discuss sending him to anger management therapy the next morning
• Overall the englishman is fucking pissed. He might pretend to tolerate you or barely acknowledge your presence most days, but when it really counts he's there for you. Even if that means by planning a mass murder spree

You open your car door once the taxi pulls up outside of the bar, you step out the cool air wrapping around your body making you shiver. You walk towards the bar door, show your id and enter. You scan the area for Tangerine and Lemon, you spot them in a booth and approach them.
“Hi!” You sit down beside Tangerine. Lemon on his other side.
“Hi love.” Tangerine replies, passing you a drinks menu. Your attempt to hide the blush of your cheeks by looking intensely at your menu.
You pick your drink, vodka cranberry and Lemon goes to the bar to order. Tangerine asks you about work whilst Lemon gets the drinks, you go off on a slight rant about your boss who very clearly overworked you because no one else was as dedicated as you were to rising up the ranks. You were a starting out art designer and this was your first firm placement. Tangerine just listened, that’s what you liked about him. He never told you to shut up when you rambled on about anything, he listened and responded with exactly what you needed to hear every time.
Lemon returned, gave you your drink and settled back down on his seat.
“So why didn’t either of you let me know you were leaving the city for a week?” You raise an eyebrow whilst eyeing them suspiciously.
“It was last minute work stuff,” shrugged Lemon.
“What did you have to go on a super secret mission to kill the Mafia or something,” you tease.
“Not the Mafia but something like that.” Tangerine says casually. You still couldn’t believe their jobs, you definitely should’ve been scared of them but you’ve know them for a long time, enough time to trust them with your life.
“And we found our Diesel,” Lemon says. You laugh at how proud he looked. “Right under our noses the entire time, playing us like fools.”
“Only time it’s ever been beneficial.” Tangerine mumbles.
“So you admit that it isn’t childish and stupid.” Lemon responses.
“It is childish and stupid. I’m sick of hearing about it,” Tangerine grumbled, finishing his drink.
“Oh come on Tan, it does no harm.” You nudge him. He just rolls his eyes at you, “you’re so grumpy. Lighten up.”
He just shakes his head, but you see him crack a smile. It makes you smile in return, you couldn’t be more of an opposite from Tan, he was a little grumpy and sometimes too serious. And you were the opposite, you were too friendly and extremely spontaneous. You talked he listened, he was neat you were all over the place at times, he was calm and you were lively. But somehow that was literally everything, and Lemon was the glue that held you all together. He was the perfect mix between them both and your metaphorical partner in crime (Tangerines literal one).
However you knew that a few drinks made Tangerine much chirpier and that you used to your advantage. So now you all sit absolutely wasted at the bar, Lemon orders the fourth shot. The three of you finish another shot, then just order a drink. The bar around you was busy and lively, the music was pumping through your veins and you felt electric.
You were mid conversation with the guys when you hear some intense ranting. A man is giving off about the bartender yet no one is listening, which just urges him to continue.
“Oi. Can you hurry the fuck up and take my order,” his voice fumes from behind you.
“I’ll be with you in one minute I’m serving a customer.” The bartender responds.
“I told you to take my fucking order. Are you stupid?”
You turn around in an instant to the source of the demands, you make eye contact with him and he just scoffs at you. “And she told you to wait a minute.”
“Who the fuck was talking to you?”
“Oh get over yourself. Piss off and leave her alone, it’s busy in here just wait.”
The man only ignores you and turns back to the bartender. “I swear to fucking god you’re such a useless bitch. I want a drink, so hurry the fuck up.”
“Please let me sort this couple out first.”
“Fucking ridiculous. You’re ridiculous.”
You stand up and come to face like him, you were livid by the vermin he was speaking. “You’re the ridiculous one here. She told you she’s busy! Just fucking get out you dickhead!” You shouted. He crossed his arms, trying to assert power in the situation.
Tangerine and Lemon both instantly turn around to look at what’s going on, Lemon was extremely taken aback by your confidence but he was impressed. But Tangerine was fascinated, he had never seen you riled up before.
“This has absolutely nothing to do with you, turn the fuck around again no one cares about what you have to say.”
“Im sure they care a lot more than watching a shallow waste of space cry because he’s not the top priority.”
“You fucking bitch.”
“What the fuck did you just call me?! A bitch. You think I’m a bitch? Well I think you’re a greedy spoilt little prick.”
“Oh my god she’s brilliant.” Tangerine says, completely starstruck. Lemon only nods in agreement. They couldn’t believe the fire you had inside of you, it was so intense. The man you were arguing with looked threatened, but he couldn’t accept defeat.
“That’s rich coming from you sitting there with two men, like a fucking whore. Look at you,” he looks you up and down, you suddenly feel extremely self conscious of your outfit, even though it was barely showing cleavage. “You look like a fucking prostitute.”
You don’t even take a moment to think and before you knew it your fist collided with his nose, sending him to the ground. People watched in shock, no one not even you knew what just happened it was all so sudden.
Tangerines mouth falls open, as he watches everything go down. There was something about seeing you like this that made everything click. “Fucking hell I love her.” He says, dead serious yet dazed.
Lemon does a double take and stares at Tangerine. “What?” He looks at you, prouder than ever but knew him and Tan needed to get you out of the bar before the man attacks you.
They both speedily usher you out and the three of you sit curb side outside the bar.
“What the fuck just happened,” Lemon floundered, you shake your head in response. You anger was settling and you were just calming down.
“If I see that bastard I’ll tear his fucking head off,” Tangerine says, you could tell he was mad, rightfully so considering what the man had said to you.
“I’ll vouch to that.” You respond.
Lemon inspected your hand of which you used to punch him. Your knuckles were swollen and inflamed.
“I’ll go get you ice.” Lemon goes off to get ice, leaving you and Tangerine.
You look up at the sky admiring the stars, they were one of your favourite sights and looking at them always grounded you. The alcohol was slowly wearing off, leaving you just over tipsy.
“Sorry for not setting in back there,” Tangerine says, his voice comes out soft. You look at him and shrug.
“It’s no big deal,”
“I would’ve have thought you’d argue with someone in the bar, I was impressed, you were slightly terrifying.”
You softly laugh, Tangerine just smiles. “Well his attitude just pissed me off. But.. I feel terrible for causing a scene. I seemed like a crazy bitch.”
Tangerine turned around so he was basically facing you, “you didn’t cause a scene you done what needed to be done.”
“I guess, but everyone probably thought i was some flawed psycho who’s violent.”
“No. No don’t say that,” Tangerine puts his hand on yours and looks at you; his expression is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. His eyes are soft yet fierce, but they hold so much value to his words. You’ve never seen or heard him be so considerate before. His voice was gentle, not grumpy and his touch was comforting, but you liked this side of him.
“It’s true.”
“Believe me, you’re flawless love. You fought that man to help someone else, that shows how kind you are. Anyone who saw everything go down acknowledges that.” He stroked your hand with his thumb, you smiled at his words, a blush dusting your face.
You rested your head on his shoulder and you knew there was a shift in your dynamic with Tangerine from there onwards. You’d always secretly wanted him but you thought you were too boring and too average for him, but the way he spoke to you and the way he looked at you made you feel like you were on fire.
