Greetings commander Shepard, how goes your assistance in the aid of Super Earth?
How are you doing? Has the month been pleasant?
I wasn't expecting the response about being called Commander Shepard, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
How is your little pill friend doing? Have you crafted a little home for them on your desk?
Regarding your mother's birthday, I'm sorry the gift didn't have the desired effect. I hope the celebration was good and you all had a nice time.
I'm glad you are enjoying your time with your games and carving your own path into them. The image of a small figure entering a large terrain on a map and marking their own spot comes to mind.
Also congratulations on becoming more comfortable with refunding games on steam. One step at a time.
I wasn't exactly sure how to put this one together after the last one. Sorry for dropping these near or at the end of the month. Not really sure how frequently I should ask these without being a nuisance.
Your blogs have been fun to dive into. I may not know how much work goes into your blogs, but I do appreciate the effort. A lot of things you and your community were things I never really gave much thought about, but reading through them has made me think about what I missed through my playthroughs. So, Thank you very much for making fun stories and post.
Anyways, I should let you get back to work. Have a good day, afternoon or night, whenever this finds you. Stretch, hydrate, rest your eyes. Do what you can and hopefully things are going well.
I love you
Mass effect story was written by a lot of people as a cooperation effort and it wouldn't be complete if any of those writers were missing, so it makes sense that no one person alone can truly appreciate or notice everything in the game. That's why getting a new perspective from someone else and hearing their own side of the story is so refreshing! You get to see something you love through different eyes and notice all the things you might have glossed over.
Like Garrus, for example. I never paid him much attention to his dialogue or knew that we affected his paragon/renegade in ME1. He could've been replaced with a cardboard cutout, and I wouldn't have noticed. He completely flew under my radar because I was too busy picking up every microdetail I could on Ashley and Javik.
But when I finished all three games and dived into the fandom through fanart and video essays. I got slapped in the face by how interesting of a character Garrus is and the great storytelling he has. How he feels as much his own person as the main protagonist of the game does. You could make a spin off that's just telling Garrus's side of the story and it would sell like crazy. I'd be first one in line for the chance to play as the archangel sniper.
I still can't get over the line Liara made about him in the shadowbroker notes. How he has leader potential but will never truly shine while under Shepard's command.
OW MY HEART
It's like two gaint stars battling in a gravitational pull without realising, and everytime without fail Garrus will be the one crumbling to Shepard's mass. The longer he stays by our side no matter how well we treat him, he will always be reduced to a cluster of freshly broken rocks orbiting our sun. Rather than having his own planets to lead and protect through the galaxy if we just weren't in the picture.
We harm him by existing, by stealing his potential and making him feel so safe around us that he never grows or get stronger. He trust us so much he is willing to forgo what he could amount to if given the chance.
It's like a curse of love. A friendship can be a burden as much as it is a haven. He truly shines and finds himself when Shepard was dead, yet is eager to throw it away and join our ranks again, only asking for the chance to say goodbye through revenge.

On another note, my pill pet "disappeared under mysterious circumstances" :/
My niece newest patch notes fixed legs movement and added extra logic, so now it's a hazard to leave exposed, bare, and possibly expired medical pills laying around. Who's idea was it to make candy pill shaped?
So pilly had to be...taken care of. Rip big guy, you would've loved to slightly lower my pain levels in a mystery way that scientists still aren't aware of but was theorised to activate descending serotonergic inhibitory in nociceptive pathways.

I haven't been feeling like writing. A big flaw in my design is that 90% of my actions are steered by raw passion so the second writing loses its spark for me I threw in the towel and go indulge in another shiny hobby unit the cycle repeats.
It's funny how I worked so hard when the blog was a barren desert just to reach anyone at all and now that I have that audience who's willing to listen and read, my inspiration runs out and I don't wanna do it anymore.
I think it shows that at the end of the day, supportive comments and interactions can only go so far when you have lost interest. It merely delayed the inevitable out of guilt but that too is spares.
What I'm saying is, if you wanna do something, then do it even if it's bad or no one is reading it. I used to misspell Shepard's name as shepherd.
And if you don't wanna do something, then don't do it, even if you invested so much in it and are good at it.

I've been moding stardew valley and it's so much easier than modding mass effect. I still plan on a full moded ME1 playthrough but a single mod there is like 1GB and there are so many stepsss also that rule about mesh mods having to go last. If you add any other mod after them then it breaks and they don't work well.
I discovered that the hard way when during Kaidan's last romance scene, his face was 10 shades lighter than his body, and it looked like he was wearing a plastic cut-out mask of his own face. Apparently, one of my mesh mods for him was malfunctioning because I added a tiny small mod after it. Had to nuke the whole folder and redownload every mod, then re-add them.
The gay romance mods aren't compatible with a lot of mods, so I might do a maleshep run then. Gonna make the twinkest twink to ever twink, a boyfailure to match my girlboss shep.
All of that for his straight ass to date Ashley because I need that woman like air.
This whole plan is on the backburner, when I eventually do it I'll revisit this blog again. I still read the comments and check the notifications every other day.
There are also two whole fully written fics rotting in my drafts. I haven't finished Andromeda yet either, but god, it's sooooo boring. So much endless missions and pointless stuff, while the mass effect trilogy felt compact and put together. It's like mass effect is this delicious chocolate milkshake with layers, while Andromeda is a barrel filled with water and some apple. If you're lucky, a slice will sneak through the endless tastless water and choke you without warning.
I tried listening to music, video essays and even audiobooks while playing it and it's still boring. It gives me so many headaches even with the motion blurr disabled while with mass effect I couldn't bare leaving the game to go to sleep from how interesting it was.
I will finish it, begrudgingly.
Mods made it more fun at least.
Oh, and I did a smart thing! There was an outdated mod that wasn't compatible anymore, and the dev abandoned it. But I really really wanted it, so I went into the mod files, converted the png files to xnb, and replaced the og game files with them after making a backup. Changed their names to match, and IT WORKED.
Sure, it's obvious in hindsight, but I feel proud that I figured it out by myself immediately without looking online for a solution or anything. It felt clever. Especially when I haven't used replacer mods in 5 years. I did it fully not expecting it to work since I know Jack shit about coding. But when I was messing around and opening random xnb files I noticed the pictures inside them look like the png file mod ones and it hit me.

I realised I haven't answered the questions at the top of your ask.
I'm not doing well. I'm rarely doing well mentally, and that's just a part of life. Mental illness doesn't go away. You just learn to live with it, tone it out sometimes, and embrace it other times like an annoying roommate.
I don't want to be a downer. The nightmares have been getting worse and I will power through them.
I appreciate you even asking. When the answer is always "I'm not doing well," people think I'm purposely being an asshole instead of truthful, so they stop asking. And yeah, of course I know how to lie and say "I'm good" when it's just a person asking out of politeness.
But you're not asking out of politeness, are you? You're genuinely asking me despite being a stranger. That warms my heart, I wish nothing but happiness and the best for you.
This is like a lovely letter exchange now that I think about it. It is different than texting yet intimate in its own way too.
I liked your description of the small figure entering a large terrain on a map. Imagining it paints a beautiful picture, a campfire embers amidst a thick dark forest, the soft glow of the first city on the surface of a new planet, a flickering LED flashlight of a rover attempting to navigate the rocky terrians of the moon.
They discovered a new super volcano on mars btw!! Unrelated but related. There might be glacier ice hidden underneath it! Nasa wants to investigate for traces of life because that's how all life began on earth.
I love space a lot. We sent songs of whale sounds to space alongside the disk of humanity. We thought whales were this lovely. And they are! They live insanely complex lives, their deaths are the sole food source of an entire ocean floor ecosystem!
Oh, and you're not a nuisance. There isn't even a room for doubt, I love your asks, and I enjoy answering them. I appreciate the time you gave me. That's like half an hour of tiktok scrolling. You've spared just to write this for me, I'm so thankful.
Send them whenever you want to send them and I'll answer them whenever I want to answer them. I know you're not obliged to, so I never expect them, I'm just immensely happy when I see them.
Make sure to take care of yourself. Do something that makes you happy because you deserve happiness and it shouldn't be earned.
Thanks for congratulating me on refunding a game on steam. It feels silly to say out loud. But paranoia is a bitch and I avoid customer service like the plague so it was a big step for me to refund them casually because I didn't like them. Thanks <3
Oh and my mom's birthday went fine, I got her flowers and she liked them. I wasn't satisfied with a basic gift, so I kept searching for a book I know wanted for a long time, and eventually, I found it after a month! It arrived yesterday, and she immediately started reading it.

The People Dwelling in Jerusalem
1 Now the leaders of the people dwelt at Jerusalem; the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine-tenths were to dwell in other cities. 2 And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem.
3 These are the heads of the province who dwelt in Jerusalem. (But in the cities of Judah everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities—Israelites, priests, Levites, Nethinim, and descendants of Solomon’s servants.) 4 Also in Jerusalem dwelt some of the children of Judah and of the children of Benjamin.
The children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez; 5 and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni. 6 All the sons of Perez who dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred and sixty-eight valiant men.
7 And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah; 8 and after him Gabbai and Sallai, nine hundred and twenty-eight. 9 Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer, and Judah the son of Senuah was second over the city.
10 Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, and Jachin; 11 Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, was the leader of the house of God. 12 Their brethren who did the work of the house were eight hundred and twenty-two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, 13 and his brethren, heads of the fathers’ houses, were two hundred and forty-two; and Amashai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, 14 and their brethren, mighty men of valor, were one hundred and twenty-eight. Their overseer was Zabdiel the son of one of the great men.
15 Also of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni; 16 Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the heads of the Levites, had the oversight of the business outside of the house of God; 17 Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the leader who began the thanksgiving with prayer; Bakbukiah, the second among his brethren; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. 18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred and eighty-four.
19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren who kept the gates, were one hundred and seventy-two.
20 And the rest of Israel, of the priests and Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance. 21 But the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel. And Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim.
22 Also the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha, of the sons of Asaph, the singers in charge of the service of the house of God. 23 For it was the king’s command concerning them that a certain portion should be for the singers, a quota day by day. 24 Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was the king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.
The People Dwelling Outside Jerusalem
25 And as for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kirjath Arba and its villages, Dibon and its villages, Jekabzeel and its villages; 26 in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth Pelet, 27 Hazar Shual, and Beersheba and its villages; 28 in Ziklag and Meconah and its villages; 29 in En Rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth, 30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages; in Lachish and its fields; in Azekah and its villages. They dwelt from Beersheba to the Valley of Hinnom.
31 Also the children of Benjamin from Geba dwelt in Michmash, Aija, and Bethel, and their villages; 32 in Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah; 33 in Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim; 34 in Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat; 35 in Lod, Ono, and the Valley of Craftsmen. 36 Some of the Judean divisions of Levites were in Benjamin. — Nehemiah 11 | New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible; New King James Version®. 5th Portion: Bamidbar (Numbers) 33:50 - 34:15
Chapter 33
50The Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:
51Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their temples, destroy their molten idols, and demolish their high places.
53You shall clear out the Land and settle in it, for I have given you the Land to occupy it.
54You shall give the Land as an inheritance to your families by lot; to the large, you shall give a larger inheritance and to the small you shall give a smaller inheritance; wherever the lot falls shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers, you shall inherit.
55But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the Land from before you, then those whom you leave over will be as spikes in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you settle.
56And it will be that what I had intended to do to them, I will do to you.
Chapter 34
1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2Command the children of Israel and say to them, When you arrive in the land of Canaan, this is the land which shall fall to you as an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to its borders.
3Your southernmost corner shall be from the desert of Zin along Edom, and the southern border shall be from the edge of the Sea of Salt [the Dead Sea] to the east.
4The border then turns south of Maaleh Akrabim [elevation of Akrabim], passing toward Zin, and its ends shall be to the south of Kadesh barnea. Then it shall extend to Hazar addar and continue toward Azmon.
5The border then turns from Azmon to the stream of Egypt, and its ends shall be to the sea.
6The western border: it shall be for you the Great [Mediterranean] Sea and the border this shall be your western border.
7This shall be your northern border: From the Great [Mediterranean] Sea turn yourselves toward Mount Hor.
8From Mount Hor turn to the entrance of Hamath, and the ends of the border shall be toward Zedad.
9The border shall then extend to Ziphron, and its ends shall be Hazar enan; this shall be your northern border.
10You shall then turn yourselves toward the eastern border, from Hazar enan to Shepham.
11The border descends from Shepham toward Riblah, to the east of Ain. Then the border descends and hits the eastern shore of Lake Kinnereth.
12The border then continues down along the Jordan, and its ends is the Sea of Salt [the Dead Sea]; this shall be your Land according to its borders around.
13Moses commanded the children of Israel saying, "This is the Land which you are to apportion for inheritance through lot, that the Lord has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes.
14For the tribe of Reuben's descendants according to their fathers' house, and the tribe of Gad's descendants according to their fathers' house, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received their inheritance.
15The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, near Jericho in the east, toward the sunrise."

Joshua 15: God Gives The Tribe Of Judah Their Allotments
1 The allotment for the tribe of Judah, according to its clans, extended down to the territory of Edom, to the Desert of Zin in the extreme south.
2 Their southern boundary started from the bay at the southern end of the Dead Sea,
3 crossed south of Scorpion Pass, continued on to Zin and went over to the south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it ran past Hezron up to Addar and curved around to Karka.
4 It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea. This is their southern boundary.
5 The eastern boundary is the Dead Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan.
The northern boundary started from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan,
6 went up to Beth Hoglah and continued north of Beth Arabah to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.
7 The boundary then went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned north to Gilgal, which faces the Pass of Adummim south of the gorge. It continued along to the waters of En Shemesh and came out at En Rogel.
8 Then it ran up the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). From there it climbed to the top of the hill west of the Hinnom Valley at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.
9 From the hilltop the boundary headed toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, came out at the towns of Mount Ephron and went down toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim).
10 Then it curved westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon), continued down to Beth Shemesh and crossed to Timnah.
11 It went to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah and reached Jabneel. The boundary ended at the sea.
12 The western boundary is the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.
13 In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)
14 From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, the sons of Anak.
15 From there he marched against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher).
16 And Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.”
17 Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage.
18 One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What can I do for you?”
19 She replied, “Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah, according to its clans:
21 The southernmost towns of the tribe of Judah in the Negev toward the boundary of Edom were:
Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,
22 Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,
23 Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,
24 Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,
25 Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (that is, Hazor),
26 Amam, Shema, Moladah,
27 Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet,
28 Hazar Shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah,
29 Baalah, Iyim, Ezem,
30 Eltolad, Kesil, Hormah,
31 Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah,
32 Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain and Rimmon—a total of twenty-nine towns and their villages.
33 In the western foothills:
Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,
34 Zanoah, En Gannim, Tappuah, Enam,
35 Jarmuth, Adullam, Sokoh, Azekah,
36 Shaaraim, Adithaim and Gederah (or Gederothaim)—fourteen towns and their villages.
37 Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal Gad,
38 Dilean, Mizpah, Joktheel,
39 Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,
40 Kabbon, Lahmas, Kitlish,
41 Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah and Makkedah—sixteen towns and their villages.
42 Libnah, Ether, Ashan,
43 Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib, 44 Keilah, Akzib and Mareshah—nine towns and their villages.
45 Ekron, with its surrounding settlements and villages;
46 west of Ekron, all that were in the vicinity of Ashdod, together with their villages;
47 Ashdod, its surrounding settlements and villages; and Gaza, its settlements and villages, as far as the Wadi of Egypt and the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
48 In the hill country:
Shamir, Jattir, Sokoh,
49 Dannah, Kiriath Sannah (that is, Debir),
50 Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,
51 Goshen, Holon and Giloh—eleven towns and their villages.
52 Arab, Dumah, Eshan,
53 Janim, Beth Tappuah, Aphekah,
54 Humtah, Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) and Zior—nine towns and their villages.
55 Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Juttah,
56 Jezreel, Jokdeam, Zanoah,
57 Kain, Gibeah and Timnah—ten towns and their villages.
58 Halhul, Beth Zur, Gedor,
59 Maarath, Beth Anoth and Eltekon—six towns and their villages.
60 Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim) and Rabbah—two towns and their villages.
61 In the wilderness:
Beth Arabah, Middin, Sekakah,
62 Nibshan, the City of Salt and En Gedi—six towns and their villages.
63 Judah could not dislodge the Jebusites, who were living in Jerusalem; to this day the Jebusites live there with the people of Judah.

Skipper Deepak Hooda’s (180, 128b, 19x4, 5x6) fire and Karan Lamba’s (73 n.o., 112b, 7x4) ice combined to snuff out Karnataka’s challenge as Rajasthan booked its first Vijay Hazare Trophy final berth since 2006-07 with a six-wicket win at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Thursday. Reduced to 23 for three while chasing 283, Hooda and Lamba’s 255-run partnership ensured the margin of victory belied Rajasthan’s initial struggles. ALSO READ: IND vs ENG, Women’s Test: Batters dominate day 1, put India in command at 410/7Hooda used his feet with expertise, stepping out and getting in line of the ball by shuffling across to throw the bowlers off their lengths. After getting to a 54-ball fifty by pulling J. Suchith’s long hop for a six, Hooda launched K. Gowtham for a six over long-on and then cut through covers off the backfoot for a four in the same over. Hooda’s hundred came off 85 balls in an over where he toyed with Manoj Bhandage, shuffling across to flick one off his pads before giving the medium pacer the charge to turn a good length ball into a half-volley. Lamba, meanwhile, rotated the strike and didn’t refrain from slashing when offered room outside off.  Rajasthan’s Captain Deepak Hooda and Karan Lamba running between the wicket in during Vijay Hazare Trophy Semi Final 2 between Karnataka and Rajasthan in Rajkot, Gujarat on Thursday | Photo Credit: Vijay Soneji/ The Hindu Rajasthan’s Captain Deepak Hooda and Karan Lamba running between the wicket in during Vijay Hazare Trophy Semi Final 2 between Karnataka and Rajasthan in Rajkot, Gujarat on Thursday | Photo Credit: Vijay Soneji/ The Hindu Hooda struck a discordant note when he pulled a short one from Gowtham into the hands of deep square-leg with Rajasthan five runs adrift of victory, but Karnataka’s fate was sealed by then. Earlier, after workhorses R. Samarth and Mayank Agarwal failed to fire, Abhinav Manohar (91, 80b, 10x4, 3x6) and Bhandage (63, 39b, 3x4, 5x6) spared the four-time champion the blushes with a 95-run partnership off 68 balls. Manohar didn’t curb his natural instincts despite Karnataka stuttering at 87 for four. He struck with vehemence and the sound of bat on ball resonated across the empty stands like the knell for Rajasthan. He was particularly severe on Khaleel Ahmed and Rahul Chahar, who missed their lengths after bowling tight opening spells. Manohar was the aggressor in an 89-run alliance with Manish Pandey for the fifth wicket that marked a shift in momentum. However, the tide turned in Karnataka’s favour when Bhandage joined Manohar. The stocky left-hander made an impression off the second ball he faced – slog sweeping Kukna Ajay Singh for a six. He picked the lengths early, pulling the short stuff from both spinners and pacers in front of square and down the ground. Bhandage got to his fifty off just 30 balls and eclipsed Manohar, who managed only 25 off 26 balls in the last 10 overs, which proved costly eventually.  The scores:   Karnataka 282/8 in 50 overs (Abhinav Manohar 91, Manoj Bhandage 63) lost to Rajasthan 283/4 in 43.4 overs (Deepak Hooda 180, Karan Lamba 73 n.o.) by six wickets.

So, funny story.  Remember the DotU-themed T-shirt design contest that WEP/The Voltron Store was running in 2020?  Yeah, probably not.  In hindsight, I think it was created for and advertised almost exclusively towards DotU fans on Facebook; I only learned about the contest through two brief posts from @/nomadicism and only found out the results by looking up the store’s Facebook page.  The designs that I submitted while procrastinating on my schoolwork were not winners, obviously (you can see the winning entries on their website now, they’re very nice!), and you can probably tell that they weren’t conceived with T-shirts in mind either.  I had an unfinished sketch of Hawkins and Hazar and the illusion of free time, so I just went for it.
Anyway, I hope that context doesn’t kill the vibe of the art, lol.  Some other details from this experience that I thought were funny:  The “Art Contest Rules” link at the bottom of The Voltron Store’s website, which is still there, actually takes you to the Terms of Service page.  On the actual Fan Art Contest Rules page, the email address for submissions was misspelled.  They also only allowed JPG or PDF submissions, not file types supporting transparency, despite the nature of the contest.  Not trying to rag on WEP, but like … if y’all need any help with the whole “online presence” thing, you do have my email.  Just saying.

Voltron: Possible Hints of Vehicle Voltron?
So my sister just kinda cheered me up. As you may notice I mentioned in my post below that Adam looks like Shannon from Vehicle Voltron. My sister pointed out to me that Shannon is also a last name, and there is the possibility that Shannon could be Adam's last name.
If this is the case, and along with the boy that's with Keith and Lance, also Matt, we would then have at least three members of the trifecta of teams. Matt from air, Adam then from sea, and new guy may be one of the members of the land team.
If that is the case then we may see season 8, 9, 10 give hints to a new series with the Vehicle Voltron as the leads. Which would mean this hottie gets to show up.

This is Commander Hazar from Vehicle Voltron. Dude runs rings around Lotor in regard to drama and can give Zuko a challenge in the honor department. Did I mention his dad is leader of the rebels, oh and one other thing about his dad... yeah he's doing this all right under the nose of the emperor, while still holding a post as chancellor.
So yeah... drama.

Have you ever drawn what Hazar and Dorma might look like in VLD style?
I have tried dabbling in a different take for them for a VLD setting. Admittedly, though, I'm severely struggling with Hazar's appearance and changes so that he doesn't look like some Lotor clone. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. While I don't know when I may finish with his design, I keep putting him off because I'm struggling to work with him, I do, however, have something for Dorma that I like. I'll go ahead and show that here.
Tumblr media
There were changes for her, even giving her shorter hair, perfect, in my opinion, for her to be serving in the Galran military. Also, I think she would, in a VLD AU, serve as Hazar's second in command/lieutenant. I'm also leaning towards calling her Sirk, like in DaiRugger, for a VLD AU, hoping I get to use her and Hazar.
Anyway, though I have been struggling with Hazar, I like to think I've worked well with Dorma/Sirk and the changes.
Well, thank you for asking! Until next time!

Lotor really should’ve been an antivillain who may or may not have become an antihero by the end, but is largely a political party directly opposed to Zarkon but also a rival to Voltron.
His arc also could’ve introduced interesting themes of repentence, redemption, and restoration for the Galra with him as the main vehicle.
(So, you know. Basically Hazar.)

Commander Hazar of the Drule Empire. Part of the Kesh System in my verse. There are similarities, but they have a monarchy whereas, the Chiss Ascendancy has an oligarchy.

The People Dwelling in Jerusalem
Tumblr media
The Blessing of Being Absorbed By Christ
In the genealogical record of 1 Chronicles, the genealogy of Simeon follows Judah. This is interesting as Simeon was the second born son of Jacob and Judah was the fourth son. History has shown Judah will indeed be royalty among the tribes of Israel and the large portion of the text dedicated to it is understandable. But why is Simeon second? To answer that we should remember a bit of history about Simeon.
First, the son of Jacob, Simeon was taken by Joseph as a pledge that his brothers would return with Benjamin back in Genesis 42. If we read that story we find out Judah promised on oath to safely bring Benjamin and Simeon back at cost of his own life when Jacob resisted the venture back to Egypt.
Fast forward to the assignment of the plots of land in Israel after the conquest. We see that Simeon's territory overflows into the territory of Judah. We should remember back to Jacob's curse over Simeon and Levi that did not come to pass because of the territory of Judah.
Genesis 49:7 (ESV) Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce, and their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them (Simeon and Levi) in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
Jacob said Simeon's descendants would be scattered among the other tribes but in fact, the only tribe Simeon's people overflowed into was Judah.
Eventually, in the time of David, Simeon was largely absorbed as part of the political alliances of the Davidic kingdom. The Chronicler mentions this:
1 Chronicles 4:31 (ESV) Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susim, Beth-biri, and Shaaraim. These were their cities until David reigned.
So we have this repeated intertwined relationship with Simeon in and among the tribe of Judah. Later in the chapter, we read this about the Simeonites who had been in the territory of Judah:
1 Chronicles 4:39–40 (ESV) They journeyed to the entrance of Gedor, to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks, 40 where they found rich, good pasture, and the land was very broad, quiet, and peaceful, for the former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.
Simeon was absorbed into Judah and Simeon was abundantly blessed as a result. They enjoyed a broad and quiet land and rich and good pasture. There were benefits for Simeon's alliance with Judah. But let read the end of the chapter:
1 Chronicles 4:42–43 (ESV) And some of them, five hundred men of the Simeonites, went to Mount Seir, having as their leaders Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi. 43 And they defeated the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.
Simeon not only enjoyed the rich blessings of Judah, but they also thrived in military conquest as well. They even partook of defeating those pesky Amalekites who had been Israel's sworn enemy since Exodus 17.
What does all this show us? Well, it completes a picture for us of the benefits of our salvation. Jesus commands us in the New Covenant to ABIDE in Him. That means to rest, remain and stay in Him. We are to let our lives be absorbed into His person. We are to let Him rule and reign over our territory. When we do, we are blessed as a result. We find good pasture and abundant living. Consider how Jesus put it:
John 15:4-5 (ESV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
And Jesus said to us in Matthew 11:
Matthew 11:28–30 (ESV) Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
When we surrender our lives into the territory of Jesus, when we rest in Him, He has a way of blessing our lives. In spite of the curses others may lay on us, Jesus' goodness is released in us and through us. Let us be Simeons indeed that Christ's rule may bring us the resources of heaven and eternal rest for our souls.

Numbers 34: God Tells Moses The Boundaries Canaan Will Have
1 The Lord said to Moses,
2 “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:
3 “‘Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea,
4 cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon,
5 where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6 “‘Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This will be your boundary on the west.
7 “‘For your northern boundary, run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor
8 and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad,
9 continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
10 “‘For your eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham.
11 The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.
12 Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea.
“‘This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’”
13 Moses commanded the Israelites: “Assign this land by lot as an inheritance. The Lord has ordered that it be given to the nine and a half tribes,
14 because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.
15 These two and a half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise.”
16 The Lord said to Moses,
17 “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
18 And appoint one leader from each tribe to help assign the land.
19 These are their names:
Caleb son of Jephunneh,
from the tribe of Judah;
20 Shemuel son of Ammihud,
from the tribe of Simeon;
21 Elidad son of Kislon,
from the tribe of Benjamin;
22 Bukki son of Jogli,
the leader from the tribe of Dan;
23 Hanniel son of Ephod,
the leader from the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph;
24 Kemuel son of Shiphtan,
the leader from the tribe of Ephraim son of Joseph;
25 Elizaphan son of Parnak,
the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;
26 Paltiel son of Azzan,
the leader from the tribe of Issachar;
27 Ahihud son of Shelomi,
the leader from the tribe of Asher;
28 Pedahel son of Ammihud,
the leader from the tribe of Naphtali.”
29 These are the men the Lord commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.

Several of the Dairugger XV episodes that Bandai uploaded were blocked in my region for a few days, but they’re back up now and I can continue watching from episode 12 ^_^.
Some thoughts so far:
The original visuals, unedited and in high quality, are a full-course meal.  The backgrounds are especially beautiful, and even the simple ones have fantastic color palettes.  (I’m pretty impressed with how thoughtful the color design is in general; it’s leagues above GoLion and 90% of the Voltron franchise, imo.)
It’s great to see the hand-made line quality and cel shading on the characters, too — it reminds me of watching My Conquest is the Sea of Stars in HD, albeit with less sophisticated character designs and animation.  80s anime really is something else.
tbh, I find DaiRugger itself to be one of the ugliest parts of the show, even if that toy model they advertise at the beginning of each upload looks cool as heck.  Maybe mechs were just really challenging for the studio — Lion Voltron’s fights weren’t great either — but I get the sense that the creators were just kinda disinterested in making a mech show to sell toys and just wanted to go off with intergalactic politics and alien environments.  Valid, but it makes for some uninteresting, if mercifully short, climactic fights.
I’m really into how Western/Roman the Galveston forces are, in name and in certain aesthetic elements, even though I’m also very glad this element was papered over in Vehicle Force.  Every time a purple, red-eyed alien man is referred to as “Luciano” or “Drake” I have to pause the video and take a minute to process it.  "Casually slaps real ethnic/historical names and indicators on fantasy/alien characters” is anthropologically interesting to experience from the “other” side, at least.
Honestly I’m still trying to mentally prepare for the appearance of Socrat Teles’s philosophical father, Socrat Tes
Galveston forces are less painfully bumbling than the Drule, while still clearly being corrupt and incompetent with strong parallels to the Earth politicians, so that’s cool.  I even kinda sympathize with their paranoia over the DaiRugger explorers, since this is first contact for their respective civilizations.
Teles Good, seems to have more screen time and beautiful shots.
Ise Also Good, though I can kinda see why he was turned into the commander in VV.  He doesn’t come off as a paragon the way Hawkins does — I can’t really imagine Hawkins talking to Sim the way he talks to Zandu — but he’s certainly an idealist of high quality.
That convo with Sim, though … “I caused an accident in training.” “Haha yeah, I f*ked up in training once too.” “No I mean I blew up someone’s ship.” “Eh, don't lose sleep over it.” And then Sim aliensplains how big space is to him
The intentional humor generally lands better than Vehicle Voltron’s, probably because it’s hard to kiddie-fy subtle humor.  Aki complaining about the spice in the curry and saying there should be sugar instead is a funnier set-up than the cook being terrible and putting caramel on mashed potatoes or whatever it was in VV, and it’s a nice moment of characterization where you see how childish and simple-minded he is.  The punchline is also funnier because Ise overheard his dumb comment about the curry and made a mental note to use it against him, but also somehow mistook Aki for a waiter in the same scene.
There are times when it’s a little too dry, though.  Par example, Gratuitous Shower Scene was not the iconic piece of comedy it is in Voltron, where the dialogue heavily implies that Hazar is constantly being interrupted in the middle of his toilette like a big-breasted high school girl in a visual novel
Aaaaand that isn’t the note I want this post to end on, so I’ll also say that I appreciate the show’s tone, the heaviness of the narrative and the relentless kill count. The consequences are a bit extreme sometimes, but I don’t feel like they happen for the sake of edge or karmic retribution.  They just really wanna hammer home that war always means suffering and death, and it works.  These are the marks of an effective anti-war narrative, and certain creators could learn from them.
