DC x DP Prompt *34*
Last night's patrol had been rough. Killer Croc got the jump on Tim, who won, but not without injuries. His son had a twisted ankle, bruised ribs and a wound on his back that needed stitches.
All of this meant that Bruce needed to find an excuse for Danny, who would be very confused why his brother was so hurt, when he was supposed to be sleeping at night.
Bruce stood up and made his way to Tim's room to make sure that the boy was still sleeping. To Bruce's surprise he not only found Tim, but also Danny in the bed. Both boys were deeply asleep. Danny's hand clasped Tim's wrist, his fingertips rested on the pulse point of his brother.
Unsure what that exactly meant, Bruce left. He would need to watch the development of this closely, to find out what was going on. If something was going on.
.
.
.
Dick got doused in fear gas. Danny sneaked into his room at night. His fingers are against the pulse of his oldest brother. Bruce closed the door, a light smile on his lips.
.
Stephanie got hurt in a fight against Freeze and stayed at the manor. Danny sat slumped on the floor of her room. His fingers securely against her wrist.
.
Damian got into a fight with Ivy and was still recovering from her pollen. Dick was sleeping and cuddling with his youngest brother. But someone else had cuddled close to the youngest bird. Danny was holding Damian's wrist close to his own chest.
.
Bruce was laying in bed with a broken arm after a run in with Bane. He wasn't surprised to hear his door open, or the smaller body that was crawling under his blanket. Danny's cold finger pressed against his wrist, until they found his pulse. The boy relaxed with a shuddering exhale. He pretended a little longer to be asleep, but before he could do anything else sleep pulled him under.
.
Duke ran into the Riddler. While he did solve the puzzle, he couldn't escape uninjured. He cracked a few ribs and wasn't able to hide his limp. When Duke was going to bed, Danny followed him to his room and slept beside the daytime vigilante.
.
Cass had a tough fight tonight. The court of owls was active again and while she was a skilled fighter, even she wasn't able to stay uninjured with too many enemies at once. She had a black eye and her wrist had a sprain. When Danny tried to sneak into her room, she looked at him and held her uninjured wrist in his direction. They both snuggled into her bed.
.
Alfred had an accident, while doing housework. He fell a few steps down the stairs with a laundry basket in hand. Luckily he only twisted his ankle. But when the old man woke up in the early hours of the morning, he found a black haired boy sleeping in a sitting position beside his bed. His fingers tightly around his wrist.
.
Jason had been shot. And while he tries to argue about being able to drive himself to his safe house, Alfred's disapproving gaze was enough to let him falter. But he stayed in the med Bay. When Bruce came to check on his second eldest, he found a smaller blackhead wrapped around him, his fingers pressed to the pulse point on his neck.

Vlad becoming a Gotham rouge to protect the kids in his custody. Part One
Masterlist | Prequel | Part 2
Gotham was a great place to hide.
A city swathed in shadows and secrets, and drenched with the stench of death. He would blend right in.
Jazz was watching the city pass by through the windows of the bus, fingers clenched tight around a hidden weapon and blue eyes scanning for a threat. She hadn’t relaxed for a moment since they’d left amity, and likely not since her parents passing. She tried so hard to hide it, to be strong, but she looked so tired.
Danny was curled in his lap, grip tight on the lapels of his jacket as he huffed his way through a mild night terror. Vlad wanted to wake the boy, but he’d been sleeping so little since they fled, he needed the rest even if it was fitful.
He purred softly, a rumbling in his core that had once been something he deeply despised.
Danny, sweet innocent Danny, purred back. His baby core, still forming months after the accident that claimed his parents lives and changed him irreversibly, rumbled weakly back.
He hadn’t realized Danny was like him until he’d caught the ghost boy flying through the town, believing he was dreaming. The four year old excitedly told him he was like a superhero now, then collapsed in his arms to fall asleep. He’d recognized Vlad even with his blue skin and monstrous face, chest stuttering through a happy purr as he snuggled against him.
He’d had to talk to Jazz and Danny about how they were different, how he was different too, and that they had to hide. People had begun looking for their kind. Jazz wasn’t quite like them, she was death touched, but not half dead like them. She’d been in the same room during the accident, but her only change was the slight whitening of her hair.
He was doing his best keeping them all mostly alive in the castle, childproofing his precious Packers memorabilia and trying to learn the kids quirks. They didn’t trust food, not until he cut it up very small, and they were adept with guns and weaponry. He knew Jack and Maddie were passionate hunters, but he wondered just what they had taught their children.
It wasn’t helping matters that his obsession had broken during the death of their parents, both the love of his life and need for revenge gone. It left him lost and ill, but focusing on the kids was keeping him from fading away. Maybe they were becoming his new obsession, and maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing.
The castle was old and run down, secluded from the world the way he wanted it be be. He was starting to build a fortune through less than reputable means and they were okay. He’d give the last pieces of Maddie, and that idiot Jack, a good chance.
Then they were attacked.
It happened suddenly. They were in the middle of a family dinner when the door was kicked in and there was yelling. Jazz grabbed the ecto pistol she always had from under the table and began to fire, shielding her brother with her body. She was only six, but she moved like a trained fighter as she began throwing anything within reach at their attackers.
They were wearing white, people Vlad had seen skulking around since Jack and Maddie’s deaths. One of the blasts seared through Vlad’s shoulder, human flesh sizzling as he screamed and tried to shield the kids. They were closing in, he had to do something, he had to save the kids. Their kids. His kids.
Without thinking much beyond that he wrapped his arms around the two children and when intangible, flying them through the ceiling just in time before a green shield he’d once helped blueprint kicked to life and covered the castle.
That led them to now, riding on a bus to a city Vlad only heard bad things about, a city to get lost in.
They were surviving off of the cash Vlad had on him, all his cards dumped. He’d need to make new IDs for the kids as well as himself, and find a place to stay, but right now he just needed to keep going.
A stolen jacket was draped over his shoulders, hiding the hastily bandaged wound that wasn’t healing even days later. Jazz carried a bug out bag everywhere with her, and the few things she had were helping. They’d grabbed a backpack for Vlad with necessary supplies at a department store before hopping on the Bus, all procured by him illegally while Jazz watched Danny outside.
Danny had asked him, brows furrowed, why he was stealing. That the cops and superheroes would come and take him away. His eyes filled with tears, shining a brilliant green.
“I don’t want you to get taken away.” He took a shaky breath, grabbing Vlad’s hand. “I don’t wanna lose you too.”
He’d had to explain that sometimes people stole to survive, trying to explain the grays in the black and white view of good and evil. Vlad knew he wasn’t a good person, but he was doing what he had to and he didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty.
The bus pulled into Gotham, brakes giving an ominous squeal that startled young Daniel awake. Vlad held him in one arm, the other hand winding with Jazz’s that was trying so hard not to shake, and they stepped off the bus.

If you’re low-key obsessed then I am a gone😍 what about sunshine being awol the morning of a race 🤷🏼‍♀️
thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
.
“Have you seen Sunshine today?”
“No, sorry.”
“Hey, have you seen Sunshine this morning?”
“I haven’t, no.”
“Have you—”
“Daniel, I don’t think she’s here, mate,” Max muttered, placing a hand on his teammate’s shoulder in hopes that it would stop him from pacing around the garage, and it did. But it didn’t stop his mind from wandering and spinning on where the hell you could be.
Despite the separate hotel rooms booked by the team every race weekend, you would always find each other using one room. In fact, it became rarer for the two of you to not share a hotel room when you were in another country for the race weekend, and it just so happened that it was one of those weekends.
You had been out late the night before, out with some of the others in the engineering team as you perfected a few faults you had found in the cars during qualifying. You had messaged him not to wait up for you, to not stay up and risk his own sleep just for the sake of falling asleep with you. And as wrong as it felt, he had managed to fall asleep.
However, when he woke up in the morning, you weren’t there.
And when he arrived at the paddock, you weren’t there either.
Now, it was a few hours until lights out, you were nowhere to be seen and Daniel was losing his mind.
“Where is she?” Daniel muttered, his brows furrowed in concern as he tried sending you another message, only for it to come up as undelivered once again. “She should’ve been here by now.”
“Daniel—” Max started but his teammate was already pacing again.
“What if something happened to her?” he whispered, a sense of chilling dread washing over him as he looked up at Max. “What if something happened to her and she needs my help?”
Before Max could even reply, Daniel was jumping up to grab his keys for the car he drove to the paddock. He was ignoring all logic and rationality that was telling him he should stay in the paddock, that he needed to start getting ready for the race with the rest of the team. His only thought was you.
Max, despite knowing better, knew that Daniel was in no state to be alone right now. WIth the rest of the engineering team also clueless on your whereabouts, the Aussie’s concern only shot through the roof, and his friend didn’t think it would be the best idea for him to be behind the wheel just yet.
They ignored all the warnings other team members gave them and did their best to ignore the cameras following them towards the exit. Daniel had one track mind and it was completely focused on finding you and making sure you were safe. His fingers were itching to hold you close again and it was starting to consume him.
However, neither boy expected their search to end as close to the exit as it did.
“I am telling you, I am a part of the Red Bull team! Just go get someone and you’ll see.”
“Ma’am, we have to ask you to leave—”
“Oh my god!”
Daniel’s head whirled around at the familiar sound of your voice, his eyes eagerly seeking you. And he spotted you, on the other side of the turnstiles, a frown on your face as you argued back and forth with a few of the security guards at the entrance.
“You need a paddock pass—”
“And I usually have one,” you interrupted, already angsty and on edge, and feeling like a broken record wasn’t helping your mood. “Except for today. Now can you please let me in because they need me—”
“We can’t do that, ma’am.”
“Fuck off,” you groaned, running a hand over your face.
“Sunshine!”
Your eyes instantly found his and he couldn’t bite back the smile that spread across his face. His feet were moving before he could even think to move, his body too eager to be beside you that he didn’t even bother swiping his pass to get through the turnstiles, instead just jumping over the bars.
“Danny,” you almost sagged in relief the second his arms were around you.
“Is there a problem here?” Daniel asked, his eyes now on the security guards as he placed a hand protectively on the back of your head.
“Mr Ricciardo,” the security guard blanched. “No, it’s just she needs—”
“She’s with our team,” Max interrupted this time, giving the guard a pointed look. “A very important part of the team. So, the sooner you let her through, the more appreciative we will be.”
“Of course, sir.”
Daniel had yet to let you go as the three of you made your way through the paddock, heading straight towards the Red Bull garage before Christian or anyone else could notice you were gone. You didn’t mind though, the weight of his arm over your shoulder was something you found comfort in these days.
“Where were you?” Daniel asked eventually, his brows furrowed together in questioning. “I was worried sick.”
“It’s embarrassing,” you muttered, a scowl on your face which only amused the Dutchman.
“Well, now you have to tell us,” Max grinned, poking your side and only laughing when you batted his hand away.
“I forgot my keycard last night,” you told them with a heavy sigh. “I couldn’t get into the hotel room so I had to bunk with one of the other engineers. I tried to get a new card at reception this morning but they thought I was some crazy fan trying to get into Daniel Ricciardo’s hotel room. And I couldn’t even get an extra key to my room because I had no ID with me.”
Daniel snorted. “Why didn’t you just call me?”
“My phone died,” you replied sheepishly. “I had to borrow an extra polo from a colleague before trying to get to the paddock with no phone, no money and no paddock pass.”
“I’m surprised they didn’t arrest you on the spot,” Max teased.
You rolled your eyes. “Funny.”
“Well, if I have to find any crazed fan in my room, I’d be pretty chuffed if it was you,” Daniel joked as his arm around you tightened.
“Whatever,” you grumbled but there was a smile on your face. “I gotta take you everywhere with me, Ricciardo. Might even say you’re my crazy fan.”
“That wouldn’t be a lie,” he grinned down at you.

Iris picked up the phone from her pocket soon after she heard the cheerful ringtone. She only needed to look at it for less than a second to know that it was Barry and pressed the green button to answer. To make sure it stayed up while she typed away on her laptop, Iris placed the phone between her head and shoulders.”Hey, Barry.” She greeted.”You coming back soon?” She asked. Allen was out a bit later than usual tonight, which isn’t common enough for her to worry too much -- especially since he’s also a young adult like herself --, but definitely not often enough for her to not worry at all. His breathing was labored and pretty tired.”Hey, Iris, you mind making a bit of room on the living room couch?” He asked.
That was a bit odd.”Uh, sure, just let me finish up my writing. Why? Does a friend need to come over or something?” She asked. She heard another voice yawning, which was even weirder.”Uh, not exactly. We kinda have an emergency guest.” He replied.
Barry carried the exhausted boy on his back as he walked down the rather empty sidewalk. He wasn’t all that heavy, Barry was just pretty tired himself. The boy’s head rested on his shoulders, making his dark hair brush against the side of Barry’s head a bit every time he took a step, and despite his best attempts to stay awake, he was quickly falling asleep.
His grip was slipping and growing weak, but every few seconds or so, he’d suddenly regain his grip a little or try to mumble another “thank you” or “just one” to the older man, the second indicating he only intended to accept his offer for only one night. Barry lowered his phone a little and slightly turned to glance at the kid’s head.”No problem, kid. Just get some rest now.” He said. He heard a grumble, but couldn’t understand what Danny said. Judging by the tone, though, it was probably a pouty “No!” meant to be a joke.”Barry? Who is that? Is someone with you?” Iris asked through the phone. Barry brought it back up and put his focus back on the path ahead of him and in his mind.”A kid named Danny, he was looking for a place to sleep in the alleys. He’s not in too much trouble, just really tired from what he’s told me.” He replied. Probably not the best way to explain it, but it could be worse.
Iris was now closing her laptop and heading towards the living room couch.“Why won’t he go to a shelter?” She asked. The couch wasn’t dirty or littered, but a quick brush wouldn’t hurt, and neither would a blanket. She already knew what he was going to ask if the answer to her question was no.“Too far, apparently. Is it okay with you and Joe if he stays the night, and I try to help him out in the morning?”
That was something I had no issue with, but Joe might. She also knew he would welcome it if he had no choice, though. He did the same with Barry, after all.”Sure, let me ask dad.“ She said, wiping a few stray crumbs off the couch. She put her phone on the small nightstand next to the couch and rushed upstairs. Iris went to her dad’s door, which was the second door down the hall on the right, and knocked. She didn’t even have to wait ten seconds for it to open and her father, who had been allowed (ordered) to go home early, to open the door.
“Iris? You need something?” Joe asked. Iris cut straight to the chase.
“Long story short, Barry found a kid looking for a place to stay and the shelters are full. He wants to know if he can stay here for the night.” She somewhat explained. Joe reared his head back a little bit in surprise and blinked. He was obviously as taken aback as she expected, telling her dad that her brother was bringing back a homeless kid to sleep on their couch.
“This is all of a sudden,” he started with a small step back, ”but if there’s not a lot of other options, then sure.” He shrugged. A small smile formed on his face, as if asking “how could I say no?”. Iris sighed in relief and soon found her own smile. Joe walked past her.”Thank you so much, dad.” She said. Joe glanced back at her, still smiling a bit.”Helping kids is part of my job, as an officer and a father.” He stated as they both descended downstairs.
Iris picked up her phone, hoping Allan was still on the line, and held it to her ear as Joe opened a closet to grab a spare blanket.”He said yes.” She said. She put him on speaker, just in case Joe wanted to talk as well.
“Thank goodness.” Barry breathed out.”I’m really sorry to spring this on you guys.” He apologized. He rounded the corner, ignoring the double glances people took before they kept walking. They were most likely assuming that he had somehow gained a little brother or son.
“It’s alright, Barry. Do you know if he’s had anything to eat or drink?” Joe’s voice asked on the other side of the line. That caught him off guard, but only for a millisecond, maybe even faster since his brain barely registered it.“Yeah, he told me he’s not hungry.” He glanced over at Danny’s head on his shoulder, noticing his eyes are closed and his breathing was slower.”I think he’s asleep.” He said. The lack of grumbling or some quiet form of arguing proved his theory.
“How far away are you? Do you need me to pick you up?” Joe asked. Barry, out of instinct, quickly surveyed his surroundings. Though he already knew where he was, which was kind of stupid or weird.“No. We’re about two minutes away, walking distance.” He replied.
“Alright. We’ll get the couch ready.” Joe said. Barry heard the phone beeping from his adopted dad hanging up and promptly put it in his pocket so he could use that hand to make sure Danny was being carried properly.
When Barry arrived back, Iris had opened the door for him since she saw him coming up and quickly guessed he’d struggle a bit to get his keys without dropping the kid. Once he managed to get through the door, Joe came over and carefully helped him get Danny off of his back and onto the couch, both trying to make it so they didn’t wake him up. He stirred a bit from the movement, but his eyes barely cracked open before he fell right back asleep. Danny simply laid there, and Iris quickly tucked his unconscious body under a blanket as the other two began a quiet conversation.
“Anything about his family? Friends?” Joe asked in a hushed tone. Barry shook his head.”No, he just said he’s not sure where he is or how he got there, and he can’t remember his address or any phone numbers either.” He whispered back. The two turned their heads when they noticed the light being turned off and saw Iris next to the light switch. She used the light on her phone to light up the floor and walk up to them.”We should let him sleep.” She piped in quietly.
“Yeah. I say we ask him about his situation in the morning, when we’re all well rested.” Barry agreed.
“Sounds like a plan.” Joe nodded. And with that, they went upstairs, but not before Barry gave their guest a confused glance. Something was just odd about him. He brushed it off as the sudden turn in events that had happened in the last hour confusing him and carried on upstairs.
In the morning, Danny was gone.
The blanket that had been draped over him the night before was stacked neatly and placed on the opposite end of the couch as the pillow, which was also slightly fixed so it’d appear nice for decoration.
The windows and doors were still locked from when Joe remembered to take care of that before bed, and the alarm hadn’t gone off at all throughout the night. Nothing was taken, everything was tidied up.
Except for a single sticky note placed on the wall.
Thank you so much for letting me stay the night. Hopefully, we don’t meet again under those same circumstances. — Danny
BTW, I did a load of dishes, woke up feeling productive and wanted another way of saying thanks :D

You and Danny get closer and closer by the second.
TRIGGER WARNING: Sewerslide
“You can see me?” I asked, glancing around your house with the house phone tucked snuggly against my ear.
” ‘Course I can, doll. Blue really does wonders for you.”
His cocky tone made me scoff as I glanced down at the blood red pajamas that clung loosely to my skin.
I scoff and say "Blue? are you colorblind? Im wearing red not blue" i say sarcastically; looking around myself.
”Right, darlin’.” The person on the otherside as I shifted a little to adjust my position. Then your gaze drifted to the cordless phone cradled in my hand. Why haven’t I hung up yet? I wondered.
"Are you going to continue to be creepy? Cause rather than you scaring me your entertaining me. I kinda find you endearing…" I say in a honey sweet voice
”Oh honey, I ain’t tryin’ to scare ya.”
His voice had me tilting my head to one side, curious with the strange familiarity of it.
”Maybe you oughta tell me your name, doll.”
"You ought to tell me yours first 'Doll' " i say sarcastically
Fair enough, sugar.”
He paused, obviously weighing his options.
”You can call me Danny.”
"Danny? I like the sound of that" I say, I pause and speak again "Y/n, Y/n is my name but you can call me N/n" I say in a hesitant voice
”Y/n's a beaut’ of a name. Why’d you hesitate?”
The phone pressed against your ear became uncomfortably warm, my free hand toying with my long tresses.
”You got a boyfriend?”
"A boyfriend? I wish but no" I say in a shallow tone
”No boyfriend…hmm.”
He let my words hang in the air for a few moments before breaking the silence with a new question.
”You live alone?”
" Sadly, I could die and no one would know or care." I say in a sad tone
”Damn, darlin’…”
I noticed a hint of concern in his response, the phone growing hotter in my palm.
”Why you thinkin’ bout that?”
" Bound to happen one day: anyways ive got to go, been nice talking to you Danny" I say as I hang up the phone, I put the phone on the kitchen counter and make my way towards the hallway. I make my way upstairs to my bedroom and flop on my bed.
The line went dead with a soft click.
I felt a familiar tension in your body as your eyes traced the cracked walls of my room.
I didn’t want to be alone, but you felt an overwhelming need to just rest your eyes for a moment. I just need a quick thirty minute nap…
But just then, as if I summoned him, a warm breath washed over my face.
I open my eyes and see a shadow standing next to my bed, the shadow doesnt have a threatening Ora just a dark one.
”Hey, darlin…”
His voice seemed to echo in my mind.
I couldn’t see him clearly, but I could make out the shape of a well-built man, the dark silhouette standing beside my bed.
I speak " ya'know if you could keep quite itd be helpful seeing as i have a headache" I say in a sassy tone "And stop breathing on me"
”My bad, sugar.”
You could hear the small chuckle in his tone, and I felt his presence shift towards the foot of my bed, away from my face.
A part of me wanted to be afraid, but for some reason I found the man in the darkness comforting rather than frightening.
”Right, sorry…”
Another small chuckle drifted into the room, and I could feel him sitting at the edge of my bed.
For a few moments, there was no noise, aside from the soft breathing the man seemed to be doing.
I was just about to fall back asleep when his voice cut through the silence again.
”Can I ask you something, darlin’?”
"You already are, but fine continue afterwards do you promise to be quite?" I say
“Promise.”
There was an almost childish quality to his voice, his words sending a shiver down your spine.
”Now on to the question. You said you live alone, right?”
“Promise.”
There was an almost childish quality to his voice, his words sending a shiver down your spine.
"Yes what about it?" i say with a questioning voice
”Hmm…would you mind if I stayed the night?”
The man’s voice was filled with an unspoken need, and the heat of his breath swept over your skin.
I take a moment to think on it. "You can stay the night yes, but there is only one bed. And no you're sleeping on the floor, Ill keep the lights off since you probably want to keep your face hidden yes? if so ill throw a blanket and pillow down there for you" I say as i start throwing 2 blankets and 2 pillows down for you on the floor.
”Darlin’ that’s real sweet of you, but there’s no way I’m gettin’ comfy down there.”
There was a pause, and when he spoke again his voice was firm.
”I’m sharing the bed with you.”
I huff as i scoot towards the wall dragging my blanket along with me. "Grab the bedding from the floor, we are not sharing a blanket. I dont know where your body has been or what your into. and change out of those ragged rugs, you can keep your mask just change your clothes you stink, theres clothes in the closet that will probably fit you." I say
“You’re a real ball-buster you know that, right?”
You heard his footsteps creaking across your cracked floor as he went to the closet.
”If you’re gonna be stubborn like that then I’m sleeping naked.”
"What?!" I shriek
”Kidding.”
There was a pause as the sound of his steps died down.
”Now scoot over”
"I did, youre not that big. Im pressed up against the edge of the bed and the wall so stop complaining" I say in a annoyed tone
”Quit your bitching. I’m just tryin’ to get comfortable here.”
There was a moment of silence before you felt his breath wash over you again.
”It’s kinda hot in here…”

Midnight Dip
Pairing: Danny Wagner x F!Reader
Summary: You can't sleep on a hot summer night, so Danny comes up with an adventurous alternative.
Word Count: 1,600
Warnings: swearing, non-sexual nudity
A/N: This is a re-upload to move it from my old blog to my current blog.
Tumblr media
The sheets were too sweaty on that humid summer night. Your childhood home lacked air conditioning, so you and Danny were damned to a week of staying as far away from each other as possible in bed.
Clearly, the big fan on your ceiling did very little to aid the cause. Your boyfriend's big body tended to take up a majority of the space, so it was no help that you couldn't cling onto him like usual. Thus, you were resigned to the edge of your mattress in the sweltering heat.
You tossed and turned for what seemed like hours, though in reality it was probably just under one. Unsticking your legs from the sheet, you headed over to the bathroom to splash water on your face and try to reset for a better night's rest.
Not wanting to wake Danny, you waited until the door was shut before turning on the light. Once on, it lit the room in a yellow-ish hue and started the humming of the shower fan.
You opened the squeaky closet door to find a rag made from one of your old beach towels. You were pretty sure it used to be Hello Kitty. Now, it just looked like a mess of colors and old makeup stains despite being fresh out of the laundry.
You wet the rag, squeezed out the excess water, and put it up to your face. Sweet, momentary relief.
You contemplated just bringing the wet rag into bed to rest on your forehead, but you hated the idea of waking up with a damp spot beside your head. So, you dabbed yourself in a last bit of coolness and tossed it into the hamper. You went to open the door and head back to bed, but before your hand even reached the knob, it was opening.
"Hey baby. You okay?" Danny's sleepy voice asked as he leaned against the door frame, arms crossed. Normally you'd want to jump his bones when his muscles looked that good. But right now, in the heat, you had negative interest in getting even sweatier.
"Yeah, I just couldn't sleep. It's too fucking hot," you complained.
"I know. Next time we're coming back with a window AC. I'll install it myself."
"Please..." you replied, placing your hands on his cheeks. He smiled softly into them, his dreary eyes blinking ever so slowly.
The two of you shuffled back to the bed and attempted to get comfortable once more. He grabbed your hand and kissed the back of your palm before placing it back by your side. After a minute or so, Danny spoke up.
"Idea."
"Mhm?"
"You're nowhere near falling asleep, right?" he asked, rolling on his side to face you.
"Hell no."
"Perfect. Go put on some pants and meet me by the front door."
Confused, you questioned him. "Danny, it's like, after midnight. Where're you trying to take me? Everything is closed..."
"Don't you trust me?" he asked with a mischievous pout.
A few minutes later, Danny was revving up his car in the driveway. You hopped into the passenger seat and reached to turn on the air while Danny put a location into Apple Maps. The genius he is, he angled the phone so you couldn't see where you were going. It wasn't until the two of you turned down Great Neck Road that you realized where he was taking you.
"Wait, are we going to the beach?" you asked.
"Maaaaybe..." he said, squeezing your thigh with his free hand.
You'd told Danny countless stories of nights spent at the beach when you were in high school. When everything closed at 9pm, the shore was always open and practically begging for stupid teenagers to do reckless shit.
You'd told him of the time that Mark set off a firework on accident and the police got called. You'd told him of the (several) occasions on which you'd fallen asleep with your best friend on the beach only to wake up with the sunrise and a hoodie full of sand.
"I figured we might as well add a little memory to the late-night-beach collection." The side of his mouth turned up a little bit into the tiniest smile. "But if you'd rather, we can ju-"
"No!" you cut him off, "This is a great idea. I'm honestly honored that you remembered..."
"Of course I remembered," he reassured you, rubbing his thumb on your bare skin. "Call me crazy, but I think we should go in." Despite admitting to the craziness of the idea, he sounded completely serious.
"Like... in the ocean? Now? In our clothes?"
"I mean, we don't have to wear our clothes..." he said, wiggling his eyebrows. You smacked his shoulder at the heinous suggestion of skinny dipping in the ocean.
No way in hell were you letting seaweed get up your asscrack.
"Okay, I mean we can wear our underwear if you want, but I feel like we'd want dry clothes to ride back in, no?" he suggested.
"Damn. You're right. What if someone else is here? I don't want to be caught half nude by an innocent bystander who probably knows my Dad..."
The two of you inspected the parking lot and scanned the shore as best as you could. Luckily, the moon was near full and the light reflected off of the sea just enough to make out any other visitors.
"Y/N, we're the only ones here. Everyone else has air conditioning and is happily asleep. Probably cold, even."
You knew he was right. Damn those people.
So, that's how Danny convinced you to strip down to your underwear. You ran (as best as you could in the shifting sand) hand-in-hand towards the water's edge, which was just about at high-tide.
You weren't sure why, in all your years of living by the beach, you never dared to enter the ocean in the dark of night. It seemed so much more intimidating, more ominous... more sacred, even.
"Okay, on the count of three," he encouraged. "One, two, THREE!" On three, he practically dragged you into the waves with him. You yelped just a little, but were silenced when a wave covered your head and cut you off.
"FUCK it's cold!" he whined. All you could do was chuckle as you pulled him closer, this time using your body heat for good. You wrapped one arm around his back while your other hand toyed with his necklace. It was obsidian, you thought. With a black cord tying it around his neck.
"I want one of these," you told him, eyeing the jewelry.
"You can have it, if you want it, baby." Always the giver.
"No, I want my own. That way we can match." You peeked up at him in the moonlight through your wet eyelashes.
His curly hair was mostly held together in the quick bun he'd put it in, but a few strands clung to his forehead. You reached to move one behind his ear as he stroked your cheek with the back of his hand.
"You know you're so beautiful, right?" he murmured. You blushed. "Are you sure you're not a siren?" He knew how embarrassed you got whenever he complimented you, and you hid your face in his chest. "I'm serious, Y/N." You placed a small kiss on his chest as a form of acknowledgement and thanks.
Running your hands down his muscly arms, you mentally thanked him for suggesting you leave your clothes in the car. Even this short time in the water was making you a bit chilly coupled with the slight breeze off the waves.
"Shall we get dried off then?" he suggested. You nodded, but not before pulling his face into yours. You kissed him slowly, sacredly. You kissed him like he'd be gone with the sunrise. You deepened the kiss as he ushered for you to wrap your legs around him. Your lips made their way from his mouth to his jaw and, eventually, his collarbones.
"What was that for?" he asked, once he caught his breath.
"Just because. You love me so well."
"Hm. You're right. I do love you." Danny scared you a bit when he suddenly swept you off of your feet and into his arms, bridal style. It was a bit tricky wading up to the shore with the waves coming against his back and you in his hands, but he somehow made it. You dodged the dried seaweed in your path and padded back to the car.
Once you were both clothed again and settled under the interior car light, you looked him in the eyes.
"Thank you, Danny." You could tell he was about to argue and say it was no big deal, but he caught the sincere gratitude in your eyes.
"You're welcome," he reassured with a kiss to your forehead. The two of you held hands on the center console the whole way back home and snuck back inside like two 15-year-olds trying to avoid waking up anyone else in the house.
With little giggles and sush-es, you made your way back to the bathroom to squeeze the water out of your hair and get the sand out from between your toes.
Finally back in your bed, the heat wasn't so damning anymore. You weren't sticky from sweat, but rather from the salt water that lingered on your skin. The dampness of your hair kept you cool as you lulled off into a deep sleep beside Danny.
His hand found its way to your chest and stayed there until morning.

Saul Silva x reader - misunderstandings
Tumblr media
Tears streamed down your face as you looked at the man in front of you.
“Seriously Danny..?” You whispered.
“I.. I’m sorry.”
You ran your hand through your hair as you pushed him outside, quietly closing the door behind you both and you stared at him.
“What about our son?! What about little Ryker?!” You screamed.
“I’m sorry (Y/N)! I.. I love her! Okay?!” Danny yelled back.
“You should love us! Me! Ryker! You’re family!”
Danny shook his head as he took a deep breath, trying to keep his tears at bay as he looked at you.
“She’s pregnant (Y/N). It’s my baby, what choice do I have…?” He asked softly.
You scoffed.
“Maybe not cheat on your wife to be!”
You took the engagement ring off and tossed it at him, watching as it hit his shoulder and bounced off somewhere in the grass.
“How the fuck am I supposed to explain this to Ryker? He asks when his dad is coming home every damn night! He cries because he misses you!”
Danny shook his head.
“I.. I’m sorry..”
With that he turned around and left and you walked into the house, taking a deep breath as you locked the door.
You didn’t know what to do, your whole world was falling down around you and you didn’t know what to do anymore.
This wasn’t even your house, it was his. You couldn’t stay here.
Looking for your phone through your tears you found your best friend and asked her to come around first thing in the morning and you got to packing everything.
Toys. Clothes. Pictures.
Anything that belong to you or Ryker you packed into bags or boxes.
You couldn’t sleep that night, you spent the whole night crying, standing at the four year olds bedroom door as you looked at him.
Early morning light hit the house, and there was a knock on the door and you walked over to answer it.
“Farah..”
You collapsed into her arms and sobbed into her shoulder, and she held you tightly as she stepped into the house, closing the door.
“What’s happened?” She whispered.
You took a few minutes to calm down and when you had you explained everything to her, and she quietly listened.
When you finished talking, she poured you both some tea and sat back down on the sofa.
“Do you have anywhere to go?” She asked softly.
“No.. no. I.. I don’t know what to do Farah..”
You heard the sound of little footsteps and you quickly wiped your eyes looking over the sofa as you smiled at the little boy.
“Hey baby..” you whispered.
“Mummy..?”
He walked over and crawled into your lap, resting his head on your side as he looked over at Farah and gave her a small wave.
“Hey sweetheart.” She smiled.
She looked at you.
“Come to Alfea. I could do with someone taking some of my classes, and we’ve got a spare room for you both.”
“Farah I.. I have no experience teaching..”
“It’s just like training, I promise I’ll teach you everything and let you settle in first. You’ll get paid, you’ll have somewhere to stay, and I can watch him while you teach.”
You looked down at Ryker who had fallen back asleep and you nodded your head.
It was the best option you had at this point, and that very same day you were gone from the house, leaving a note for Danny to tell him never to see you or your son again.
You kept to your room for a few days, helping the little boy settle in before you started to take him exploring.
You had met some of the students and teachers, and Farah decided that the following term you would take over teaching some of her classes.
You were still getting paid, so you could buy anything you needed.
It was a good transition an easy one for both you and Ryker.
Sitting on the bench outside, you smiled as you watched the little boy gathering some of the stones from the ground with the help of Terra and Musa.
“It’s stuck!” Ryker pouted.
“Here, watch.” Terra smiled.
She used her magic to get it free and he cheered and clapped as he picked it up, stuffing it into his pockets.
“Mummy can do that! She does with fire!” Ryker cheered.
He begged her to do it again and she did and you laughed softly.
You heard a small chuckle and you looked to the side to watch the man sit down.
“What do I owe the pleasure Saul?” You asked.
He looked at you.
“I just saw you sitting here, I thought I’d join you if that’s okay?” He smiled.
You nodded your head, turning to face him but making sure to keep an eye on your son.
“That’s more than okay. Shouldn’t you be training?”
“Half term, I’ve got a break. I heard you’re teaching after Christmas?” He asked.
“Yup, I’m actually looking forward to it. Terra and Musa have been kind enough to let me practice teaching with them.”
The two girls smiled up at you and went back to playing with Ryker.
“I’m sure you’ll do great.”
You two carried on talking while the girls played for a little longer before they had to go, and Ryker turned his attention to climbing on you.
Saul smiled, letting out a soft laugh as he watched.
“He’s got a lot of energy.”
“He really does how he sleeps is beyond me.”
Saul smiled and he looked around before turning back to you.
“I was wondering if maybe you’d be free for dinner? Both of you?”
You sighed, shaking your head.
“We’ve been through this before Saul.. I’m sorry..” you mumbled.
You picked Ryker up and held him as you walked away.
“Bye bye!” He waved.
Saul waved back and he sighed to himself, getting up and walking in a different direction.
He’d been pining over you since he first met you, and he got to know you, be friends with you, and he wanted to have a date with you.
But every time he asked you turned him down and he didn’t know why.
You enjoyed spending time with him, you had movie nights with him, spends days off with him, would join him for breakfast most mornings or the three of you would go on walks.
But when he asked about dinner or a date you would instantly shut him down, wouldn’t even consider it.
He was wondering if maybe you weren’t interested in him? Maybe you weren’t. He wasn’t sure. But as he walked to the training grounds he decided he was going to keep his distance from you.
If you weren’t interested in him maybe he was making you uncomfortable, and he didn’t want to do that.
You on the other hand noticed straight away when Saul started to avoid you, he wouldn’t come for breakfast like usual, or answer your messages about movies.
“I think I upset him Farah..” you mumbled.
She looked up from the floor and held the toy car in her hand as Ryker sat next to her making noises.
“Have you told him what happened?” She asked.
You shook your head and slid down to sit on the floor, picking up one of the toy cars and Ryker took it back, handing you a different one.
“This your favourite.” He smiled.
“It is my favourite thank you sweetheart.” You smiled.
You looked back at your best friend.
“I.. how can I tell him..? What if it scares him away..?”
Farah sighed.
“I tried asking him about it, but he wouldn’t tell me anything. Honestly (Y/N) I’m not sure what else to suggest aside from coming clean and telling him why you keep saying no.”
You frowned.
“Saul generally seems interested in you (Y/N), I don’t think he’ll be scared away if you tell him.”
“I.. I don’t know.. he’s nice.. and Ryker likes him which is great but..”
“You’re worried, I know. Just think about it?”
You nodded your head and carried on playing cars with your son while Farah left her office to go and do something.
But you pushed the thought of Saul and Danny and everything to the back of your head.
You started teaching, and you absolutely loved it, sometimes Ryker would find his way to you, which you didn’t mind.
It was nice, and the students were patient and helpful when it came to you making a few mistakes with things.
Standing at the front of the classes with Ryker in your arms, you smiled at all the students.
“Is everyone excited for Christmas?” You asked.
There was cheered among the room and Ryker bounced in your arms.
“Santa!” He gasped.
He wiggled free and ran over to one of the students, pulling at their hand.
“Will Santa come to you?!” He gasped.
“Yeah! He’ll come to me! But he’s going to stop at your house first buddy cause you’re very important.”
Ryker cheered and ran around asking all of the students if Sanda would come and visit them all.
And at the end of the class they all came over, handing little gifts to the boy and it had you in tears as you thanked them all.
They all stood back and you crouched down as Ryker looked in amazement at his gifts.
“What do we say?” You asked softly.
“Thank you! I love you!” He yelled.
The students laughed and shouted it back at him before leaving and you told him he had to wait to open them.
But it didn’t stop the little boy from trying to pick as many up as possible and you did the same thing, struggling to open the door but you did it.
“Needs some help?”
“Ben? I can’t see.”
Professor Harvey chuckled and took some of the things and walked alongside of you.
“Looks like you’ve made a good impression on everyone.”
You smiled as you walked to your room, but as you passed Saul your smile fell.
“Not everyone..”
Professor Harvey nodded his head and opened your door for you, setting all the gifts under the tree.
“He stays here over Christmas. You should talk to him.”
With that the man left and you thought about it again.
Students left over the next few days, and the school was like a ghost town,
It was now Christmas Eve and you sat at the front, watching Ryker play in the snow.
“Shouldn’t you be at home?”
You looked up at the man and he held out a cup to you and you took it.
Saul cleared some snow with his foot and sat down.
“Ryker do you want a drink?” He asked.
“What is it?”
He padded over and looked into the cup before nodding, sitting between the pair of you as he carefully took his cup to sip the warm drink.
“We don’t have anywhere else to be but here. Was going to spend Christmas with Farah.” You replied.
He nodded his head.
“What about you?”
“Training.”
“On Christmas?” You frowned.
Saul shrugged a little and you held the cup out for him and he drank some and handed it back to you.
Ryker decided he was done with his drink and ran back to the little snowman he was trying to build.
“Why not spend it with us? Farah said she needed to go out.” You said.
“So now we’re allowed to do things together?” He asked.
You sighed, and he sighed as well, raising his hands.
“Sorry. I’m sorry, that was rude I know. I just.. I don’t understand it (Y/N)..” he whispered.
He lowered his hands and looked at you.
“One minute we’re going on walks, watching movies, eating breakfast everyday, I sleep in your room, you two sleep in mine. But the moment I ask you on a date or to dinner you shut me out again. I just.. I need to understand why..”
You went to reply but you were cut off by someone calling your name and Ryker shot up at the sound of the voice.
“Dad!” He yelled.
He ran over to hug Danny’s legs and he smiled and picked the boy up as he walked closer, looking between you and Saul.
“Can we talk?” He asked.
You looked at Saul and he stood up, picking up the cups.
“I get it now. Sorry I didn’t know you had a boyfriend.”
With that he walked away and you could do nothing to stop it

Chapter 5 of A Long Way Home: All Signs Point To Demon
"You were attacked by a what now?" Eda questioned as she listened to the kid's story.
"That's the thing, Eda." Luz commented. "We're not sure what it was."
"All we know is it's bad news and the reason why the portal isn't working." Danny explained.
Eda tapped her finger to her chin in thought.
"What did it look like?" She finally asked.
"It was skinny, and like 10 feet tall!" Gus answered.
"That nails it down to about hundreds of different monsters!" King informed.
"It was yellow." Willow added in.
"Had 6 red eyes." Luz added.
"And some weird amulet thing infused in its chest." Danny concluded.
Eda looked to Danny.
"Amulet? What did it look like, kid?"
Danny thought for a moment, remembering the amulet. "It was shaped like a hexagon, it was a very bright shade of yellow… and it emitted light."
Eda looked up, trying to imagine the amulet. "King, go get some of your books about demons. Let's see if we can find something about demons with amulets stuck in their chests, and who can affect the magic of a portal door."
"That narrows it down." King said sarcastically.
"Well, you don't have to get it." Eda remarked as she stood up. "I can go and find them myself in your room."
A look of horror came across King's face as he bounced up. "No need Eda! I know exactly where those demon books are, I'll be back in a jiff!"
King rushed upstairs as Eda sat back down laughing, everyone giving her confused looks. "He thinks I'm gonna find his Kuzo and Martara body pillows in his room." Eda explained through laughs. (Kuzo and Martara? Get the reference?) "Of Course I know he has them, and they exist, I've seen them before… but he doesn't know that!"
The four kids blankly look at Eda, until they fall into conversation.
"What are your ghostly powers, Danny?" Willow asked as the conversation begins.
Danny thought for a moment. "Let's see…" Danny said while looking up. "Flight, invisibility, intangibility, echo ray, ice manipulation, ghostly wail, ghost shields, ghost tail." Danny counted off on his fingers. "And that's about it."
"Woah, that's a lot." Gus commented.
"I can probably do more, those are just the powers I can easily name off or remember off the top of my head." Danny informed.
"Does your ghost half have something to do with the duo color of your hair and the fact one of your eyes is green, and the other is blue?" Luz asked.
Danny looked at Luz and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Uhh, yes…" Danny replied.
Before any more questions could be asked, King returned with the books.
"I have returned with the books!" King announced as he carried the stack of books over to the couch.
He set them down at Eda's feet, and then jumped onto the couch. King got on all fours and spun in a circle, looking for a comfy spot like a dog does.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna catch up on some sleep. Since I had to be at the night market with Eda, staying awake all night for nothing."
King laid down, burying his face in his tail. Eda scowled and picked up King. King gave off a surprised "Weh!" As she picked him up.
"Oh no King." Eda remarked. "You're helping us look through these books." King crossed his arms and glared at Eda.
"Your mad face isn't changing my mind, King." Eda remarked as she placed King down.
"We're all in this together." Eda handed King a book, and proceeded to pass out more books to the rest of the room.
Now the search through King's books of demons begun.
After what seemed like forever, Luz finally gasped with excitement.
"I found it!" Luz announced to the room.
Everyone looked at Luz, and King, who fell asleep in his book, quickly woke up, confused.
"You found it, Luz?" Willow questioned as she leaned over Luz's shoulder.
Luz nodded her head and pointed to a page in the book.
On the page is a picture of a demon, the same demon that the four kids encountered the following night.
"Yep, that's the demon, alright." Danny remarked as he looked at the page.
Eda walked over to Luz and looked at the page, she read aloud.
"Lux Mori or commonly known as Power Drainers, seek out powerful sources, that be witch, demon, monster, or object, and drain the power from the source as to feed itself.
You'll know if one of these beings is near if a powerful object in your possession suddenly loses power, or if the subject is alive, they will feel dizziness, nausea, lost of power or energy, and finally death.
The power that these beings feed off of goes straight to their heart, or the amulet on their chest. The only way to defeat one of these creatures it to destroy its amulet."
Eda finished reading and looked up. "You know, now that I'm thinking about it… I do feel kinda nauseous." She remarked.
"You're joking, right, Eda?" Luz asked in a worried tone.
Eda kept a straight face until finally cracking up. "Yeh, I think that thing has its sights set on the portal." Eda gave a loud chuckle, and started laughing.
No one laughed alongside Eda, so Eda stopped laughing herself.
"Doesn't explain why my ghost sense, sensed it though, it only does that for ghosts, not demons." Danny remarked.
Eda looked at the book and scanned the page.
"Well, it says right here that the Lux Mori is a beast type demon with ghost properties, could that be a suitable explanation?"
Danny shrugged. "Probably."
"Wait, what's a ghost sense?" Gus asked out of curiosity.
"Whenever there's a ghost near, my ghost sense ghost off." Danny explained. "It's kinda like a blue mist of air, and it stems from my core, which is ice based." Danny ended with a shrug.
"Ghosts have different types of cores?" Gus asked.
"Of course they do." This was Eda answering. "Have you not read any books about ghosts? There are tons of different ghostly cores out there, but of course the ones we have here are just the default echo core ghosts."
"You have ghosts here?" Danny asked.
Eda nodded. "Yep, in fact, I summoned a bunch of them to haunt the girl's bathroom once when I was in school years ago."
"School?" Was Danny's next question.
"Ah yes, Hexside!" Luz answered. "It's awesome, I should take you there someday soon, Danny, sure Principal Bump wouldn't mind."
Danny looked at Luz with a confused stare, but quickly shook it off as Eda caught his attention.
"Well, I'm sure that can saved for another day, as for right now you kids need to get some sleep, it's like what? 5 am?"
Luz nodded as she stood up.
"On it Eda!" She turned to Willow. "I got some extra sleeping bags, Willow can sleep in my room while Danny and Gus can sleep in the guest room."
At that Luz ran upstairs, followed by Willow and Gus who were talking among themselves excitedly.
Danny gave Eda a worried glance. Eda responded with, "Don't worry, kid, we'll figure a way to get you home." Danny smiled and nodded. "Thanks Eda."
At that, Danny ran upstairs to the guest room to attempt to go to sleep.

Part 6
The clock read 3:33 AM when you woke up that morning.
You hoped your peaceful, dreamless slumber would persist throughout the night, but it seemed as if your midday nap had already altered your sleep schedule. As much as you wanted to close your eyes and fall right back to sleep, you knew you wouldn’t be able to right away.
You woke up in the same position you had fallen asleep in, and your muscles felt stiff from being in the same posture for so long. You sighed and gave in to the urge to stretch your body, careful to not move too much, but when your arm reached behind you, you felt a cold, empty spot where Josh had been. You turn to confirm your observation, noticing that there was also a missing pillow and throw blanket.
You weren’t sure why you felt a twinge of disappointment upon his absence. You heard the faint sounds of the television in your living room, so you knew he was still around, but not having him near you just felt strange. You had half expected to find yourself cuddled into his sleeping form like you had various times in the past. At least then, you wouldn’t have to think about the loneliness that you were desperately trying to avoid.
You unwrapped yourself from your comforter, stretching again once you stood up and out of bed. You smoothed your shirt and shorts before tiptoeing out of your bedroom, careful not to make any excessive noise that might wake Josh if he was sleeping. However, seeing that the channel on the television was changing, you weren’t the only one wide awake right now.
You could barely see his form laying across the couch, his head of curly hair placed on one of your pillows on the arm of the couch. He had changed into a pair of pajama pants with his white t-shirt. The red fleece bottoms explained why he wasn’t wrapped up in the blanket he carried from your room, instead letting it lay against the back of the couch. After seeing him shift his body, you decided to make your presence known.
“Do I kick in my sleep or something?” You joked as you made your way to stand at the edge of the couch where his legs were positioned.
Josh jumped a bit, obviously not expecting you to be awake. He lifted his head to look at you with a drowsy smile before returning to his pillow. “Oh, hey,” his gravelly tone indicated how exhausted he really was. He turned down the television’s volume so neither of you would have to strain your voices to overpower it.
“Hey,” you returned the sentiment before sitting on the rug, facing him, and resting your back on the coffee table. You pushed your initial statement, curious as to why he chose the couch. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“What was your question?”
“Do I kick in my sleep? Is that why you’re out here?” You paired the questions with a laugh to ensure a lighthearted mood.
“No?” An eyebrow was raised at you.
“Do I snore?”
“No.”
“Sleep talk?”
“No, God, Y/N.” He chuckled at your persistence, but a forlorn expression quickly returned to his features afterward.
“Then why are you on the couch?” You had been joking with your pressing questions, but with his denial of all of them, his choice of an old, slightly uncomfortable couch perplexed you. Usually, the absence of his normal bubbly manner wouldn’t concern you, considering how early in the morning it was and how he had been on the move since his plane landed, but it was the current melancholic look that troubled you.
His eyes danced around the various objects in front of him, hitting everything except for you. “I just… didn’t know if I should sleep in your bed.”
Your eyebrows furrowed. “Why not? We used to share beds all the time.”
“Yeah, but that was then.” He paused to anxiously bite his lips before mumbling the rest of his statement. “I wasn’t sure if it was the best idea… now.”
“Oh.” was all you could respond with. He wasn’t exactly clear about what he meant, you could assume it had something to do with Danny. You wanted to press the topic, tell him that things could go back to normal now with Danny out of the picture, but you could see Josh’s discomfort with the conversation, so you dropped it and moved on.
You stood and began to position yourself at the end cushion of the couch, and he bent his knees to give you more room to sit beside him. You sat with your arms wrapped around your legs, facing him with your shoulder pressed against the back of the couch.
“Have you slept at all since you came out here?” you questioned, trying to start a conversation that would dissolve the tension in the room.
As much as you tried to end the uncomfortable feeling between you both, Josh didn’t bite. Instead, he tore his eyes from the flashing screen of the television and looked down at his hands fumbling with one another. He didn’t have to answer, his lack of sleep was evident.
“What’s keeping you up, Josh?”
He shrugged, still looking at his nails as he picked them, a sure sign that whatever he was about to say wasn’t the exact truth. “Just can’t sleep, I guess.”
“No, don’t lie to me. What’s wrong?”
That’s when he finally looked up to you, making eye contact with you in the room’s dim light. He let out a frustrated scoff, seemingly upset that he couldn’t hide his emotions.
“I’m the one who should be comforting you,” he muttered. ”I don’t feel like I should be upset about things.”
“Your feelings are just as valid as mine.” His obvious need to look after you, even when he was upset, made your heart ache. But you desperately wanted to know what was going on in his head. “Please talk to me.”
Josh sighed, breaking eye contact with you once again before letting the dam break. “I’m not sure what to do. I’m gonna be here for you as much as I can, but… what about him?” It was slow at first, but then he couldn’t hold back. He continued, talking with the same hands he had been trying to keep occupied this whole time.
“I mean he lied to us, treated us like shit, everything. He shouldn’t be able to just get away with that, but… he’s my brother. What about the band? I feel like I’m hurting him if I worry about you, but I feel like I’m betraying you if I don’t say something to him-”
You were quick to interrupt him. “Joshua, look at me.” He paused his rambling to do as you said. His beautiful brown eyes glistened with tears that had yet to fall. “You are not going to bring this up with him, okay?”
“But-”
“I know you didn’t listen to me the last time I told you not to say anything, but I mean it this time. You are not going to let this come between you guys. Not me.”
He went quiet, processing your stern words and searching for any indication that you were upset with him.
“Danny and I promised each other that if the relationship went sour, our friendships wouldn’t have to suffer. He might’ve broken a lot of promises so far, but I expect that this will be the one he keeps,” you continued, trying to ease his worries. “He loves this band, and he loves you guys, no matter how he’s treated you. I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but he fucking loves you guys.”
He hesitates, still trying to absorb your reassurance. “What about you?”
“I’ll get through it. We will work past our differences, if possible, but if not, then so be it. It’s not gonna affect what you and I have.” You paused, noticing hints of pink on his cheeks. “I don’t need you to be my knight in shining armor. And the band isn’t your responsibility to “fix” if things combust. You just need to be you. The rest will fall into place.”
Josh looks back at his hands, wringing his fingers with one another. “Thank you,” he whispered, barely audible over the film on the screen.
You look at his delicate and quivering hands. He had managed to pick at his cuticles enough that they were turning red. You wondered when he developed the habit, and you ached when imagining the amount of stress that led to it.
Before you knew it, you leaned forward and grabbed one of his hands, holding it while you moved to your knees to reposition yourself on the couch. He gave you a curious look while you nudged his legs apart so you could slot your body between them.
He seemed breathless, already taken aback by your actions. “What are you doing, Y/N?”
You spoke softly as you scooted closer to him. “What does it look like I’m doing?” Once you were close enough to him, you released his hand as you lay against his torso. You wrapped your arms around his neck and nuzzled your face into his chest.
“I-” His body was stiff, but you could hear the hint of a smile in the single syllable.
“Is this okay?”
“Yeah… yeah this is okay.” He sighed to let his body relax completely under you. You felt his other arm wrap around your waist, and you smiled as he started tracing a finger up and down your spine, something he knew comforted you.
You decided to tease him to lighten the mood from your previous conversation. “Then why is your heart beating so fast?”
He chuckled, taking his hand from the small of your back to your neck and drawing you closer to him. “Just surprised,” he answered. You felt him release a deep, sleepy sigh before his husky voice continued. “You really should be sleeping.”
“Says you,” you giggled. You turned to the television, one of the only sources of light in the room. “What are you watching out here anyways?”
He continued on, talking about the film he had chosen to watch until he fell asleep. It was something he had seen countless times and enjoyed focusing on different aspects of its production and direction to critique. You listened intently, watching certain details as he brought them to your attention, listening for specific aspects in the soundtrack.
As always, he talked with his hands, but as the night proceeded, his wild gestures ceased. Instead, he chose to play with your hair to keep himself occupied. By the end credits, his fingers had slowed in your locks, and his breathing had evened out. You looked up to see his eyelids falling before they fluttered back open.
You smiled as you watched him fight the sleep that was creeping up on him. As much as you didn’t want to leave the comfort you were enveloped in, you mumbled to him a quick goodnight as you unwrapped yourself from his embrace and stood from the couch. Although he was already mostly asleep, you felt him squeeze your hand before you disconnected.
The clock read 4:44 AM when you fell back asleep, alone, in your own bed.
“Oh, Y/N!” Josh’s singsong voice rang through your room. “It’s time to wake up!” he cooed.
You whined and forced an eye open, barely watching as the man danced into your room to shake you awake with a smile on his face. Just as fast as he entered the room, he moved to your windows and opened the curtains, making the harsh sunlight flood into the space.
You couldn’t help but let a hiss slip past your teeth as you pulled the comforter over your face to shield you from the violent rays. You grumbled his name as he continued with his attempts to wake you.
The bed dipped down in front of you, and you could feel his hand on your shoulder once again, lightly nudging you while he spoke again.
“Come on,” he dragged the words out. “You’ve been in bed like all day. I even made you breakfast, but now it’s cold!”
You reluctantly lowered the comforter to just above the bridge of your nose so you could peek at him. You didn’t know what time it was, but it was obvious Josh had been up for a while. Aside from his animated and lively mood, his physical appearance hinted at how awake he was. His hair was slightly damp, and you assumed that he either used the half bath or kitchen sink to tame his curly locks or that he snuck into your connected bathroom while you were still asleep. He had changed out of his pajama bottoms and white shirt, choosing instead one of his infamous rompers to lounge around in. His smile was what brought you fully out of your drowsy state.
“You made breakfast?” You repeated his statement out of curiosity. “What’d you cook?”
“Well, that part was a lie,” he admitted, making you groan and lift the blanket back over your head. He continued defensively, “but I would’ve made breakfast if you had anything to eat! Seriously, when was the last time you got groceries?”
He couldn’t see you, but you still rolled your eyes at his teasing. “I don’t know, Joshua,” you sneered at him.
“Even more of a reason to get up!” Somehow, he managed to pull the comforter away from your face and off of you, leaving you to cover your eyes with your hands. He bounced a little on the mattress and continued talking out of excitement. “I want to go to the park, and now we have another thing on our to-do list. Sooo we’ve gotta get going!”
“What time is it?”
Josh’s hands grabbed your wrists and tugged your palms off of your cheeks so he could see you. You expected to see his bright-eyed stare, but you didn’t expect him to look so… vibrant. His teeth looked whiter as he grinned down at you, his eyes appeared more attentive, and his skin seemed softer. You were experiencing something you hadn’t before, somehow almost getting lost in his gaze.
He held onto your wrists as he answered your question with another sarcastic remark. “It’s time to get up, that’s what time it is.”
You rolled your eyes at his comment. “Why can’t I just lay in bed today? Don’t you remember why you came all the way here in the first place?” You tried to joke about your misfortune, trusting that humor was the best way to mend your broken heart.
Josh’s smile faltered, just barely, before returning to its normal size. “Of course I do. Which is exactly why I’m not letting you stay in the house all day.” He let go of your wrists and walked to your closet, sifting through the hanging garments while he spoke over his shoulder at you. “We’re going to the park, and then we are going to pick up groceries.”
You moved out of bed at a lethargic pace, stretching your muscles and rubbing your eyes as they adjusted to the brightness of your surroundings. Through your actions, you could see Josh eyeing and critiquing the outfit choices in front of him while he spoke.
“Oh, and can you make a list? You don’t even have to come inside with me if you don’t want to, I’ll do all of the shopping.”
You scoffed. “Why didn’t you make a list? You’re the one up and ready to go at-” you paused to look at the time on your phone.
12:34 PM. It felt much earlier than that. Had you really slept-?
“Past noon,” Josh finished your thought with an audible smirk. “And how am I supposed to know what to put on a list? They’re your groceries! Here.”
A dress was tossed over his shoulder, effectively making it to your place on the edge of the bed. It was an orange sundress with a floral pattern on it. It was one you rarely wore because it always felt too ornate for regular outings and too casual for those requiring more formal attire. It had a square neckline, short bishop sleeves that stopped just above your elbow, and it flowed in layers right over your knees. The flowers printed on the fabric were bunched together, and one would have to study it closely to see the details in the ruffled petals.
He grabbed a pair of white slip-on shoes, mindful of your foot’s injury, and turned back to you to set them in front of you. He noticed the way you were eyeing the dress with uncertainty and hesitance, and he gave you a disapproving look.
“You don’t wear that dress as much as you should. Stop overthinking it,” he instructed, moving a strand of your hair that was out of place.
For a moment, the chaotic demeanor he had entered the room with fizzled out, leaving his softest side at bay. You met his sparkling eyes and smiled at him. He clapped a hand on your shoulder and backed away from you.
“If we leave now, we might make it back before sundown.” And with a wink, he exited your room to let you get dressed.
His obnoxious behavior didn’t stop there. During the car ride, he’d pause mid-conversation for loud, goofy song breaks that he desperately tried to get you to join in on. On open stretches of road, free of other drivers and safety hazards, he’d just barely swerve back and forth in the lanes to elicit nervous, disapproving laughter from you.
As much as Josh attempted to cultivate spirits of high energy for your outing, you still felt drained, almost stuck. Your smiles and giggles were short-lived, and you tried to mask your feelings of exhaustion, especially once you arrived at your destination.
You both walked side by side down the paved walking trails that surrounded the grounds of the park. Josh had chosen a leisurely pace, one that allowed you both to take in your surroundings as you passed by. You watched the couples and families that had also chosen to spend the Friday afternoon in the area and listened as Josh gushed about all of the small children laughing and playing on the equipment. Josh’s hand brushing against yours as you walked felt just as refreshing as the warm sunlight on your skin. You relished in the electric sparks, and you wondered if Josh experienced them too. You blushed at the thought.
However, there was a twinge of guilt that manifested from the fluttering sensation. You enjoyed the contact, although you weren’t sure why. It could have been attributed to the months you’ve gone without physical intimacy, or the fact that you were newly single. But you felt wrong for trying to excuse your indulgence. Should you be enjoying the way Josh looked at you for a moment longer than he had to? The extra effort he’s put in to make you happy? The gestures and touches you’d share with him?
You didn’t believe you could live without Danny, but considering his distant and preoccupied manner in the last moments of your relationship, maybe you had already begun to live without him. Maybe moving on would be easier than you thought.
But you still weren’t sure that you wanted to move on.
“You okay?” Josh softly prodded, gazing down at you with a look of concern. You wondered how long he had been staring at you.
“Yeah… just tired,” you let your voice trail off as you halfway lied to him.
“Do you want to go home? I can just go to the store myself, but-”
“No,” you interrupted. “You wanted to come here. I want to be here if you do.”
He frowned at you, and although he appreciated the sentiment, he wished you would heed to your own needs. “We’ve been here for hours now, I’d understand if you want to get out of here.”
“I’m okay, Josh. Thank you.” A forced smile graced your lips as you tried to convince him that you were okay. That you definitely weren’t thinking about how bad you wished he would just take your hand in his own.
He knew better than that, though. Something was up, and he wished you would talk to him, convince him that he wasn’t making things worse for you. His attempts to get you up and out of the house were in your best interest, but he couldn’t help but think that his persistence added to your stress. Maybe he was pushing too hard.
“How about we stop for a bit? There’s a bench over there, and I think I saw a food truck or something. We can get a bite to eat to make us less tired,” he attempted, playing along with your cliched excuse. “Does that sound okay?”
Of course, it did. It sounded absolutely, undeniably perfect. As anything with Josh sounded to you. At this rate, you would walk to the ends of the earth if it meant you could spend your last moments with Josh. And that terrified you.
You nodded meekly in response to his question before he led you to the bench he was referring to, holding your hand as he guided you. Your intertwined fingers were the only sight that interested you, and you were surprised you didn’t trip over yourself from not watching where you were stepping. It was like he knew that you had been imagining the way his hand felt in yours, giving you another chance to experience the soft skin pressed to yours.
Once you arrived at the bench, Josh instructed you to sit. You shared a small disagreement while Josh insisted on getting you something to eat, especially since you hadn’t eaten all day. Although you promised him you weren’t hungry, you compromised on sharing an order of cheese fries before he scurried off to the food truck in the near distance.
With nothing else to do - and a judgment-free zone - you watched Josh while he waited in line, admiring his stance and mannerisms. You yielded to the urges that had been on your mind all day, appreciating his beauty for all that it included. The way his muscles would flex while he had them crossed over his chest, his fingers drumming against his biceps. His curves and stature. The rosy hue of his cheeks melded with the tan complexion of his skin.
A specific interaction called your mind out of your state of focus, bringing your attention to the woman standing behind your best friend. She was holding the hand of a small boy, no more than three or four years old. He had tugged at the pant leg of Josh’s jumpsuit, which immediately earned him a gentle statement of chastisement from the guardian. However, Josh’s attention was already pulled to the duo behind him.
You watched from afar as he chatted with the woman, only feeling a small sense of jealousy at the way he smiled at her. She was obviously a fan, and his polite sensibility in the interaction made you smile to yourself. But your heart only lurched when he crouched down to be at eye-level with the child.
He lit up while he conversed, as best as possible, with the boy. The way you could hear Josh’s genuine laugh in response to something he rambled about, and the way his dimples showed when he shared an extremely enthusiastic high five with the kid, were endearing to witness.
Josh turned to look at you, still squatting and grinning, as the woman dug through her purse to find her phone. Once he met your gaze, he flashed you an open-mouthed smile, pointing to the boy as if he were the one meeting the celebrity. You returned the expression and giggled to yourself at the excitement you could feel radiating from him, meters away. It was contagious, and it almost completely melted away your feelings of fatigue and uncertainty from earlier.
He was still beaming when he returned to the bench, holding a small order of fries that had been doused in cheese sauce. He talked a lot about the interaction he shared with the woman and child while you both ate. You tried your best to focus on his conversation instead of his gentle actions of feeding the fries to you, holding a delicate hand under your chin to catch any stray drips of sauce. You didn’t want to let yourself get lost in how tender he was with you, but you almost lost complete control once you caught his gaze lingering for a beat too long on your lips as you took the fry in your mouth. You wondered if it was intentional or if he even realized he was doing it.
You had spaced out enough to not even realize that he had fed you the majority of the fries, only saving the last few for himself.
A bead of sweat rolled off down your temple, and somehow, that was what pulled you back to the present. You laughed and swiped the droplet away, cursing the golden cast of the sun for its unrelenting heat.
“Glad I didn’t wear any makeup to sweat off,” you joked, breaking the comfortable silence between you and Josh while he finished off his food.
He didn’t hesitate before he huffed a laugh at the statement, mumbling a “Yeah, me too.” that you weren’t sure you were supposed to hear.
You looked at him with a raised eyebrow and a smile tipping your lips. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
His eyes widened at the realization that he had responded out loud. He took extra time chewing his last bite and clearing his throat before softly saying, “You don’t need any makeup.” All eye contact was avoided, and a blush crept on his already pink skin.
You scoffed and rolled your eyes at him, but you had to bite the inside of your cheek to not giggle like a child at the compliment.
Your reaction caused Josh to look back at you with a cast of sincerity on his features, looking at you as if you just blasphemed his values and beliefs.
“I’m serious,” he said sternly. He managed to keep a kind tone with his assertion. His pupils danced among your features again, as if he was trying to take in all of you at once while he spoke. “You’re beautiful.”
And suddenly, those fluttering, guilt-ridden feelings were back with a vengeance. You wished you could hear him compliment you all the time. You’d live in his gaze if he’d let you. You knew you were blushing, but you hoped he would blame the discoloration on the heat and sun exposure, especially since he seemed to take your awestruck expression as fatigue once again.
“You still tired?” He asked, bumping his shoulder against yours. You instinctively nodded, deciding to play into his assumption. He stood and offered his free hand to you.  “Let’s get out of here. You can sleep in the car while I shop if you’d like.”
Your trek to the car was similar to your many laps around the walking trail, though this time, he held your hand the entire way back. He knew you didn’t need the assistance, but he helped you into the car and buckled you so you didn’t have to move too much, shutting the door once you were settled. But his actions did little to ease the conflicting thoughts and feelings that continued to swirl, crashing together and creating riptides in your mind. That’s why the silence and road noise was welcome, allowing you to bask in it and sort through the many emotions that Josh had stirred. It paired with the warm sensation that you had lacked for months, wrapping you in a comforting blanket of serenity and lulling you to sleep.
Once you got home, you and Josh worked together to carry groceries inside the cool and relaxing atmosphere of your apartment. You were more than relieved to be back in the comfort of your own home, but the feelings from earlier lingered, especially with the domesticity of Josh starting dinner while you put away the food that he insisted on buying.
The nap from the car ride continued well after Josh parked in the supermarket’s lot, so you hadn’t gone inside with him to help him get all of the things on your list. Surprisingly enough, though, he had done well with getting exactly what you needed, plus a few extra things he claimed were essential for his ‘extended stay’.
“You got ice cream?” You looked up from the two tubs of ice cream to Josh, who was concentrating on preparing the ingredients for a panini recipe he was dying for you to try.
“Yeah, I thought we could make some sundaes or something for dessert,” he responded without breaking his focus. He laughed to himself, adding a quip to rile you. “I’m surprised it didn’t melt from you locking me out of the car for so long.”
“It wasn’t even that hot! You’re the one that locked me in the car.”
You could imagine his eye roll and smirk before he made another dramatized remark over his shoulder. “Forgive me for protecting the precious cargo that was sleeping in my passenger seat.”
“What would I ever do without you?” You matched his sarcasm.
“You’d be without ice cream I guess.”
-
After finishing dinner, you and Josh moved to your living room to share many bowls of ice cream and countless glasses of wine. The sugar rush from dessert had managed to wire you enough that you no longer felt any sense of fatigue. Instead, you were a hyper, giggling mess, and the wine only added to that.
Josh had put on his favorite record out of your collection, letting the soft, bluesy melodies fill the space around you while he sang along. You both had settled on the rug in front of the couch while you shared another bottle of wine. You sat facing each other, legs crossed under you, his knees touching yours.
You made grabby hands at the wine he was holding. He brought the almost empty bottle to his lips, taking another swig before handing it to you. His lowered inhibitions allowed him to gaze at you while you took another drink. He smiled as you tipped your head back to finish off the drink, nibbling on his bottom lip at the sight of your stretched neck.
His phone lit up, but instead of paying attention to his notifications, he first noticed the time and date. For the first time all night, he noticed that it was well past midnight, Saturday morning.
“Oh, Bip!” He exclaimed and grabbed his phone. “It’s your birthday!”
You set the empty bottle to the side. “No way, let me see.” You leaned forward to peer at his phone screen, narrowing the distance between you. “It is! Happy birthday, me.”
Josh smiled and began to drunkenly sing happy birthday to you in what would normally seem to be an obnoxious voice, but now, you took great pleasure in his grandiosity.
“You know what I want for my birthday?”
“What’s that?”
The alcohol made you giggle bashfully before answering in slurred, drawn-out words. “Someeee cuddles. It’s been sooo long since I’ve had some.”
His smirk made you blush. “Are you asking me to cuddle you?”
It was much too late to be embarrassed by your request, so you let yourself ramble. “Pleaseee? It’s been forever since I’ve been cuddled, especially by you. We could just lay in bed all day for my birthday, and I’d still be happy.”
Josh couldn’t hide his lovesick expression from your bid. His smirk never faded, his half-lidded eyes never left you. He didn’t answer, instead choosing to admire you and delight in the possibilities that awaited. His silence only made you prod him again.
“Pleaseeeee?”
“Okay, okay,” he answered with a husky chuckle, standing and offering both hands to pull you up. “Let’s go.”
Once he pulled you up, he - once again - held one of your hands while he guided you to your bedroom. “You whine a lot,” he jokingly tossed to you.
“But you still love me,” you answered smugly.
“You have no idea.”

Another DP idea based off of my dream, this time BNHA
Once again, this is an AU where Danny ran away from home, and BNHA is a different dimension from his home. Instead of him being isekaid into the BNHA dimension, why not someone get isekaid into the Ghost Zone? (:
Aizawa and class 1A end up taking some kind of trip to a competition for student heroes, and the place they are staying at coincidentally happens to be the place in their dimension that is most connected to the Ghost Zone (like Amity Park). It is a lot smaller than other dimensions connections though, only opening once every thousand years or so.
During the night, the tiniest rift opens up, and cue Aizawa waking up in a place that looks exactly like where he fell asleep…but he’s the only one there, and he can’t for the life of him find a way out.
Danny was exploring an area of the ghost zone that copies its living counterparts in the mortal world (in human form), when he stumbles across a guy that looks like he slept in a cardboard box on the side of the street.
Usually when a rift like this opens and something falls through, the right opens back up and returns it, so he tells Aizawa as much and continues on his way through this odd building before Aizawa can follow…only to walk in a circle and end up right back where Aizawa is. Every time him or Aizawa try to take a lap around the building, the distance to the room ends up shorter, as if the building was cutting off the rest of the rooms.
Now Aizawa and Danny are stuck together, either until the rift opens, or they find a way out of this horror show.
Again, feel free to expand on this if you want.

Chapter 4: Commit To the Bit
Commit To the Bit: A Danny Gonzalez tale sequel
Chapter 4: Shock explanation by eyes at end *WHO'S HERE???* 🤪
Sequel to Lost In the Rainforest: A Danny Gonzalez Tale
Overall story description: After being retuned home Danny Gonzalez works to find the rat that kidnapped him, and in the process discovers disturbing secrets about the workings of the government, and finds they may have had a hand in his abduction. What will he do after learning about their plans? Will he find Marcelle? Will he save all of his friends?
Tumblr media
After finding out about the rebellion Danny had felt a little bit better. There were a lot of people that were dedicated to protecting him and others that he cared about. He had been brought to the rebel base.
He hadn't been told much about anything other than the basics, and wasn't certain what was going to happen to him now that he was there. Would he hide out here until the rebellion had achieved their goal? Or would he help the rebellion with their efforts?
Drew was with the rebellion now as well as some of his other friends which comforted him. Originally he had been concerned with Chad Chad being head of the FBI but he had been told even a lot of people within the government didn't know about the plan to decrease goofy levels. Only a select few were aware of it, and the rebellion was dedicated to reveal everything to the public.
Danny was supposed to stay in his quarters in the large base especially at night, but he got up to get water and heard some people talking and couldn't help but listen in. "We can't let him help.. It's too risky." A mysterious voice said. "He could really help us! He could be the key to the end of it all. I can feel it. We should at least ask him." Radio Rebel said. Amy was at the meeting as well, and nodded in response to Radio Rebel's words.
"I don't know... It would be much safer for him and the rest of them in the Youtuber Protection Program." the voice responded. "Please!!!" Radio Rebel asked. Both Amy and Radio Rebel started saying please over and over again. "Fine!" the mystery person said, "Now leave I have a lot to do."
Danny heard the two girls get up to leave and ran away. He wouldn't want them to catch him eavesdropping! "What do they want me to do...? How could I help the rebellion?" Danny said to himself aloud, now in the comfort of his own room. Well at least his room at the base anyways.
"Danny?" Drew said groggily. He had completely forgotten that he and Drew shared this room, and that Drew was on the top bunk of his bed trying to sleep. "I'm sorry. I was just getting water and I overheard an important conversation about the rebellion and how I could be an integral part in saving the country..." He said. "Oh cool." Drew responded, immediately falling asleep again. Danny sighed and then got into his bed and tried to fall asleep.
He ended up falling asleep late so he slept in. "Oh no! They probably ran out of tater tots!" Danny thought to himself. He got out of bed, got dressed, and ran to the cafeteria. When he got there he saw all of his friends! Drew, Jarvis, Nick, and... Kurtis?
"Kurtis?!" Danny called out. This was the first time he had seen Kurtis since he was in Kurtistown. "Danny!" Kurtis called back. Danny arrived at the table where they all sat, filled with uncontrollable joy! "What are you doing here?" Danny asked. "These people came to my office and told me to come with them so I did and now I'm here." He said. Kurtis had an obscene and concerning sized pile of tater tots on his plate and Danny didn't even notice he was so happy. "Wait, you didn't ask them any questions?" Jarvis asked. "Why would I do that?" Kurtis said. Everyone affirmed Kurtis and agreed how stupid Jarvis's question was.
Tumblr media
"Oh, I have something for you Danny." Kurtis said. Danny somehow became even more happy! "What is it?" Danny asked excitedly. "Guess." Kurtis demanded. "Um.. A duck? A prop? A duck who is a prop?" Danny asked. "No!" Kurtis stated. "GET ME THE THING!.. PLEASE" Kurtis yelled, "I've been working on my manners." he added. Danny then watched as a man (who was standing in the corner) scrambled to grab an object from another room. The man then came back with a large box in his hands and gave it to Danny.
Danny opened the box and inside was another box, and in that box another box, and in that box another box, and then finally he was down to the final box and he opened it. He GASPED! Danny was silent for a moment... "NUTCRACKER GUY!" He squealed, "HOW DID YOU GET HIM?" Kurtis smiled finding Danny's excitement amusing, "I found him vacationing with his wife and his step son Cristopher in Bora Bora so I decided to bring him home with me just in case. Turns out it was worth it." He laughed. Danny hugged his Nutcracker Guy. Everyone awed because of how heart warming it was.
Suddenly Amy came out of nowhere and she tapped Danny on the shoulder while everyone was oohing and awing over the return of the nutcracker guy and his new tan. "Come with me please." She said. He looked nervous and a little concerned.
Danny got up and followed behind her. He was brought to a part of the base he had never been to before. He was greeted by a long rectangular table and surrounding it were some of the most powerful members of the Commit to the Bit Group. "Please sit." Dr Crumb said. Danny sat down and noticed that the chair at the head of the table was empty.
"Biscoff?" Amy asked passing out biscuits to all of the people at the table. Amy then sat down as well. "What is this about?" Danny asked. In his heart Danny knew what this was about. He felt this conversation would have something to do with the conversation he overheard the other night. "We're just waiting for the leader of the Commit to the Bit group to come. They'll tell you what this is about." Radio Rebel said.
Danny realised in that moment that he had no idea who the leader was. Was it that mysterious voice he heard? He had never even thought about it. His pondering was interrupted by the opening of a door from the opposite side of the room.
Everyone at the table looked toward the entrance and from it emerged.. The leader.
Danny was shocked as she sat down.
"Danny, we want to utilise you in this war." Chad Chad said,
"We want you to become the symbol of the rebellion"

9 friends had all lived together when strange murder led to happen in the town they lived in, they were all scared, but never suspected each other.. which if you’d watch horror movies, you know it’s a bad idea.. anyways. they were all living in a house together when it happened, three couples shared a room. Daniel and skye, lucas austin, thao and maddie. then the rest had their own rooms, felix, jj, vinnie. they were all watching a horror movie the night before a murder of their friend. they all ended up falling asleep with each other in the living room. Skye, danny, lixxy and jj on the couch. the rest on the floor. when JJ wakes up to hear their British friend got murdered by the killer last night. he started to freak out about it because they all fell asleep.. he was getting suspicious of all his friends.|when they all woke up. they realized JJ was much more distant of them. Lucas had asked jj, “dude what’s fucking wrong with you???” “where were you last night.” JJ asked lucas “dude i was asleep on the floor??” Lucas told him. “mhm…” JJ said. lucas had been so very confused. later that night they were all watching a movie, but decided to go back into their rooms, in the morning, lucas was found in the shower taking a shower ofc. Austin has found vinnie dead stabbed 8 times, 3 in the neck, 2 in the stomach, 5 in his side. she asked herself “who would do this…” but she never suspected any of her friends.| but now. skye, she’s seen to many horror movies just like lucas she was already suspecting her friends, but she never.. suspected her love interest.. now daniel, lucas and felix never suspected each other, they suspected the girls. now of course the boys trusted their girlfriends, but they never trusted their friends girlfriend.(danny didn’t trust aust, lu didn’t trust skye.) felix was acting very weird that night, his eyes were looking around a lot. once everyone went to bed. there was a scream.. but who was it?| but. such as skye, aust never suspected her love interest.. bad bad idea.. in the morning. lucas was found no where.. but austin’s dead body was sliced open from her stomach, guts hanging out ribs shown. skye had found her, she finally called the cops and they took austin’s body. but now she’s suspecting everyone. even her own lover.. thao was cooking dinner that night, when he got a knife that slit his throat..| now that the killers had killed half of the friends, skye was suspicious of her own friends.. even her boyfriend. while maddie was asleep staying over. she was stabbed. in the morning skye was hanging around daniel, as normal. when she asked him, “would you ever.. kill me?” daniel looked at her in a shock “of course i wouldn’t? why would you ever think that..?” ,skye kinda sighed, “how about.. anyone else?” “skye what are you getting at, you think i’m the murderer?” he questioned his girlfriend, “no.. of course not..” ,she had clearly lied to him. later that night skye was backed into the kitchen counter by… her own boyfriend, and her best friend but felix.. he was no where to be found. “made it this far,” ,lucas had said to skye. “suspected your own boyfriend, but none of your friends?”, “so this is how it ends. after being your friend for so long?” she questioned him. “oh shut it already.” ,it was felix holding a knife up to maddies neck. “i thought i killed her already.” daniel had stated. “clearly the fuck not. god damn i told you KILL her!” ,lucas yelled at daniel. as they were fighting. skye had tried to run away, leading to felix to throw maddie aside and grab her by the hair and yanked her back into him. “where do you think you’re going you little whore?”| he said as he started to literally strangle her, when daniel and lucas drag him off. they wanted to be the ones to kill her. not him. felix ended up holding her still while lucas goes to find the gun that was on the counter. “dude? the gun isn’t there daniel.”, “what the fuck do you mean it isn’t there?!” ,daniel yelled at lucas. the phone rang.. “that little bitch..” ,lucas had mumbled to himself. skye was trying to get away from felix, but

Cold - Danny Wagner
a/n: i’ve been cruising in danny’s lane for the week and this is what came of it :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A weekend getaway was a need right now. It was just after your second to last semester in college ended, you were desperately needing to just go somewhere and clear your head.
So when the guys invited you to an airbnb for a few days, you were of course eager to agree. The cabin they had rented was an off-the-grid place in the woods, with a beautiful view yet close enough to the town that you could order takeout and such.
“This place is beautiful,” you gasp as Jake pulls up to the house. Everyone hops out of the car and grabs their respective luggage. It had just begun to snow, so you wanted to get inside as quickly as possible.
“Alright, rooms were already assigned, as to prevent any fighting, so go find them,” Danny says as you file into the house. Your room was on the first floor, with a window overlooking the lake just behind the property. It was almost frozen over, and you were sure, when you woke up, it would be.
“What are we thinking for dinner? Chinese takeout?” Sam offers after everyone has settled in. He took the orders and called it in.
The rest of the night is wonderful. You watch a couple movies while eating, Josh having to give his input on every single scene, with his extensive knowledge of film and all, annoying everyone but you.
By the time you turn in for the night, the snow was falling harder and a lot more was coming down. This also meant that the house grew colder.
Even with the heat on, your room was freezing. One in the morning came around, and you had yet to fall asleep due to shivering, despite having a hoodie and sweats on.
Getting up, you trudge out of your room, stopping where the thermostat was on the wall. The screen was blank, meaning it was broken.
“Shit,” you curse to yourself.
You make your way to the living room, your arms crossed over your chest. You get a fire going in the fireplace and take a seat in front of it, leaning your back against the couch, which was in front of it.
Finally, you were starting to feel warmer, but for some reason, it wasn’t enough. Your eyes fall closed as you try to focus on the heat.
Since it was almost one-thirty in the morning, you didn’t expect any of the guys to be awake. But Danny was.
He walked out of his room to get a glass of water from the kitchen, albeit very quietly, and found you sitting on the floor, curling into yourself, trying to sleep. His eyes soften as he looks at you.
Quickly, he runs back to his room and rips his comforter off of his bed and comes back. He tries to gently drape the comforter over your sleeping figure, but the feeling wakes you up. He did, however, succeed in covering you.
“Danny? What are you doing up?” You yawn and sit up. He chuckles and just looks at you. “And why did you put this on me?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” He stares down at you awkwardly, messing with his hands. “You looked cold.”
“The heater is broken and I thought the fire would help warm me up. But I apparently don’t know how to make a good enough fire.”
“You should have asked Josh,” he jokes. You giggle and shake your head. The comforter he had placed over you was actually helping.
“Thanks for this,” you motion to the cover. He smiles and nods.
“No problem. I’d hate to have you freeze.” With that, he walks into the kitchen to get water. When he returns with his glass, you stop him from going back to his room.
“Well, since it’s your comforter, why don’t you stay in here with me?” He pauses, looking between your soft and angelic expression and the hallway. It doesn’t take him long to decide, though, as he crawls under the full-sized blanket with you.
You two sit side by side, the comforter up to your chins, trying to preserve as much warmth as possible. Soon enough, Danny is scooting just a bit closer to you, his leg touching yours, sending sparks through your body.
Silence remains between the two of you as you watch the flames flicker in the fireplace. Danny, however, was watching you, his eyes trained on your features, admiring your sleepy gaze.
Your eyes felt entirely heavy as exhaustion was taking over. But that feeling soon went away when Danny’s head rested gently against yours, sending your mind into a spiral.
Ever since you’ve known one another, you’ve had a crush on Danny. Everything about him was wonderful. He was so sweet, kind, caring for everyone he met, and not to mention incredibly handsome. It was inevitable to fall for him.
Once you come back to your senses and realize what position you two are in, you take the next step and lay your head on his shoulder. Both of you situate yourselves to get a little more comfortable.
The once awkward silence turned into a pleasant one, now that Danny knew his actions weren’t crazy or out of pocket. A small smile appears on your lips and your eyes fall shut.
“(Y/N), can I admit something?” He whispers, breaking the quiet and still room. You hum in response, too tired to say anything more. He takes a deep breath before speaking again.
“I’ve liked you for some time,” he softly confesses. This makes your head raise from his shoulder, eyes widened slightly. By the look on your face, he’s worried that he made a mistake.
“I-I know it sounds weird, but…” he tapers off as you smile softly and lean in closer, not saying anything. As you draw closer to his face, his breathing labors a little, anxiety and nerves rushing through him.
Your eyes flutter closed when you realize Danny isn’t pulling away from you or pushing you away. Danny takes a couple short breaths and finally presses his lips to yours, in an entirely too soft kiss.
He was testing the waters for now, but seeing as you enjoyed it and leaned in for more, the next kiss was much stronger and sweeter. He poured every single emotion he felt towards you into it, his hand cupping your cheek to keep you close.
When the kiss ends, your foreheads stay pressed together as you focus on stabilizing your breathing.
“So I’m assuming you feel the same?” He confirms. You giggle and nod your head, kissing him once more before scooting down back to your original position.
Danny wraps his arms around you and pulls you into his side. You curl up beside him, your head laying against his shoulder. His cheek presses to your head as he closes his eyes, feeling satisfied and sleepy.
Your body was finally warm enough to stop shivering, thanks to Danny’s comforter, the fire, and especially Danny. As the fire rages in front of you, you end up falling asleep in each other’s arms, more than ready to talk over everything tomorrow, and explain the scene that his brothers were more than likely to find when they wake up.

This is a short fanfic I wrote a while ago for Ectober and never posted for some reason, enjoy!
Ectober month 2021 Day 21-Relic.
Sam froze, Tucker froze, Jazz froze, the whole town froze, and Danny just kept walking down the street towards school.
Danny had been up almost until his alarm last night and the night before and the night before that, fighting random ghosts that refused to stay put and all that meant that he was tired, groggy, and slightly delirious that morning. Which meant that he totally missed the heart aching silence that had swept the world, that meant he totally walked straight past frozen people and animals without giving them another look, and that also meant that Danny was totally only wearing pj pants and a dark brown hoodie on the cold October morning.
He continued down his path towards school with his shoulders hunched over as he stared at his feet and tried to not fall asleep where he stood….he was mostly successful.
Danny looked up at the sky once, just to stare at the sparkling twilight darkness that was still covering Amity like a blanket, and though he noticed the unusual silence…..he passed it off as a thick hoodie and the unfairness that parents could sleep later than teenagers like him could. And he continued on his way.
Danny made it all the way to the front door of the school and pushed the slightly heavier than normal door open, mistaking the little ring it made as the warning bell for first period. That got him panicked, but he could barley pick up his pace. He skipped his locker all together and entered Mr Lancers classroom, mumbling a quick good morning to a frozen in place Lancer, not looking up from his feet as he walked to his desk in the back. Mumbling a apology as he brushed past a frozen Mikey before plopping down in his seat, and promptly falling fast asleep.~
A large glowing portal suddenly opened in front of Mr Lancers desk revealing a ghost with blue skin, red eyes, and a clock in his chest floating through the portal at a leisurely pace, heading straight towards a passed out Danny Fenton. A small smile graced the cold lips of the normally so stoic master of time when he laid his eyes in his passed out adopted son as Danny suddenly shivered in his sleep when a blue puff of breath left his open mouth, not even stirring him from his well deserved slumber. Clockwork slowly floated over to the boy and carefully picked him up in his arms, prompting the still mostly asleep Danny to curl in closer to the sound of his vibrating core and the coolness of the elder ghost. This made Clockworks core give a little purr as he smiled down at the young halpha he had sworn to care properly for and floated over the two heads of frozen Mikey and Dean, floating carefully back through the swirl of green and purple leading to an equally as frozen ghost zone.~
~Danny didn’t wake up until almost fourteen hours later, feeling the most rested he had ever felt since his accident. He slowly opened his eyes with a huge yawn before suddenly sitting up like a shot, blue eyes growing wide as he recognized the pale green and blue walls and various star themed clocks here and there as his room at Clockworks. He looked at his cracked watch and saw that it was 7:30 am, he jumped up in a hurry, noticed his less than school worthy apparel, and transformed into phantom before you could say ‘going ghost’.
He flew through the large clock tower and headed straight towards Clockworks viewing room, only to freeze in the air at first sight of the room. All the normally vibrant and moving screens were frozen, just like the clocks around the tower as Danny suddenly felt the still silence settle all around him, sounding like nothing and making him feel deaf and close to being crushed under all the weight of the silence, when his ghostly body suddenly shivered all the way through his spine to his mouth where he let out a puff of pale blue air. He immediately began to hear the ticking of a really slow clock behind him and whipped around to see his guardian ghost almost directly behind him. Danny floated back a bit and before he could even get the words of his question out, Clockwork kinda answered him in his own Clockworky way.
“The relic Danny, my time medallion inside of you has given you this ability. Now, I think that you have had plenty of sleep and need to get to school young halpha.” Clockwork didn’t even wait for his answer before a smirk overcame his blue face and he snapped his fingers with his words echoing around every earth and every timeline.
“Time in.”

can you write one with danny ric where they have been roomies for a year now and he finds you crying to depression and holds you till you fall asleep crying in his arms
He took you in and let you have a room in his Monaco apartment, you both got on well and often cooked together and had movie nights when he was able to take his racing hat off. He comes home earlier than you expected, you were caught off guard and he found you sat in the darkness and crying, more like sobbing your heart out. ‘YN?’ he says softly as he turns the light on, with you hiding under a blanket. He comes over to you and hugs you, he gently kisses the top of your head as he tells you that he has you. His company calmed you down, until you fell asleep against him, with his strong arms wrapped around you. He didn’t dare move an inch as he didn’t want to wake you up, he knew that you had been crying and hurting for a while and this was a time for you to have some peace and rest up. So he stayed on the sofa with you.

“Boyyys! Shoes. We’re leaving soon. We need to get a good spot to eat at the park so get ‘em on.” you call out from the kitchen.
It’s a Saturday afternoon, the sun is extra bright out in your beloved city of New York and summer is the season many students have waited for. Your sons just as excited.
George has just finished up his 8th year in middle school, Giorno’s 3rd in elementary and Donatello’s 2nd in elementary. Rikiel and Ungalo are yet to start. They’ll be going once the breezy fall/autumn season is back.
It takes a lot to take care of 5 boys in one household. Though luckily your job becomes a bit easier when your archaeologist husband, Jonathan Joestar, gets a few days off. And thus, you plan out family hang outs here and there. This time, spending a day at the park to celebrate your boys’ achievements.
You use a rolling pin to knead at the cookie dough on the counter. You had already baked up some double chocolate chip cookies but decided to make some sugar cookies as well as George, Girono and Donatello prefer them. The two youngest of the 5 having a sweeter tooth. And your husband of course not caring, the large man will eat everything his sons leave over.
You sigh as you don’t hear any noise from the top floor. You stop your kneading and go to wash your hands under the faucet. You dry them off on your apron and walk up the steps. Your ears are filled with loud noise and your eyes widen. You just walked into a chaotic scene.
There in the room in full view from the stairs lays a sleeping Donatello under a large pile of blankets. Giorno is in the bathroom brushing his teeth while Jonathan attempts to fix his messy hair. George’s door is closed and loud with the sound of video games inside. And the sight that has confused you the most- a naked Ungalo getting chased around by a Rikiel in pull ups with a towel. Danny barks behind the toddlers, Ungalo giggles as Danny reaches his side.
“Hey, what-“
You’re cut off when George exits his room and brushes past you with his face glued to his phone. You question your oldest as he approaches the stairs, texting god knows who.
“George, what the hell happened-“
“Don’t ask me. Dad only told me to get ready and I did that.” George replies in a blunt tone. He puts his phone in his pocket and pats the side of his leg, he mouthes a “come on” to Danny. The dog runs over and heaves happily as George pats his head. They both rush down to the first floor.
You place your hands on your hips and huff in disbelief. The youngest run past you, your face scrunching up as you grumble lowly. You manage to catch Ungalo by grabbing him by the shoulders and picking him up by the waist. You grab the towel from a dazed Rikiel and wrap it around your naked son. Ungalo wraps his little legs and arms around you as you direct Rikiel to go to his room and wait for you. The 3 year old pouts as he pads his way down. You sigh shaking your head as you approach Donatello’s room and knock on his opened door multiple times.
“Come on! Wake up, wake up. I told you to get enough sleep last night. And get those blankets off of you, you’ll overheat.” you exclaim aggressively. Your middle child groans, his arm reaches out as if there’s an alarm clock next to him. Ungalo giggles as he pulls at your apron and points over at a now ready Giorno walking down to join his older brother. ‘At least 2 of the 5 are ready’ you think ‘and the dog…” you add on humorously.
Half of your husband’s stature appears from outside the bathroom. He dries his hands with a small towel and walks out. He closes the door and looks at you. You lift an eyebrow.
“Jonathan…” you mutter frustratedly. A clueless Jonathan looks up.
“Yes, my love?”
You point at the naked boy in your arms, the boy sleeping under piles of blankets and the half-naked boy sitting on the bed carelessly swinging his feet. You place a hand on your hip.
“What is the meaning behind all this? Our youngest are practically naked-“ you lock eyes with Ungalo, you sigh “well…one is naked. And one is still asleep. Only 2 are ready! What’s going on? I thought you were good at controlling them while I’m busy…”
Jonathan laughs soundlessly, taking Ungalo from your arms and placing a kiss on your forehead. You groan.
“It’s no time to be lovey dovey here… I’m yet to prepare the sandwiches for everyone.”
“And I’m not trying to be, it’s just who I am. I want you to be calm. Let me explain.” he says with a sweet voice. You frown as you cross your arms and look down at your feet.
He walks over to Ungalo’s and Rikiel’s shared bedroom. He places Ungalo on the bed as he goes into their closet and picks out outfits for them. You stand at the doorway and watch him get your sons dressed.
“I was going to dress these boys first but Giorno told me he wanted to try a new hairstyle as he’s grown it out and plans to dye it blonde. So I helped him out with that. Donatello had already gotten up-“ he laughs a little, your mind wondering how he’s able to keep so positive as you’re worried that you won’t get the best spot at the park. “But he somehow fell asleep again after he played with Ungalo and Rikiel. He actually helped me shower them too so he must’ve fallen asleep before he dressed them fully.”
Ungalo happily runs out with his shoes in hand, telling his father that he can tie them himself. Jonathan nods in response and finishes tying Rikiel’s shoes. Rikiel giggles following after Ungalo. He smiles lovingly, you blink, a blank expression on your face. Your gaze going from Donatello finally standing up to get ready and back to him innocently smiling. You exhale through your nose.
“Okay, I believe you. Your story sounds- fine. But I’m still confused as to why you didn’t do anything about the boys and Danny chasing each other.” you ask with genuine uncertainty. Jonathan shakes his head.
“Well, that one’s on me. Which I apologize for. Even though I asked Donatello to dress them, I don’t blame him. All I did was tell them to go to their room while I helped Giorno. In truth, I feel Girono could’ve done everything himself but I wanted to bond with each of our sons before I go to work again. George and I even spoke before you were awake. I come home late often and don’t get to see all unless one or more of them are awake.” he places a hand over his heart “I swear an event like this will never happen again. Please do not stress, you know I don’t like seeing you that way.”
You hum, uncrossing your arms as you think. Well he only is one person, what do you expect? Your boys just got done with school too, they must be tired and desiring to sleep in most days.
Jonathan nears you and wraps his arms around your waist, he pecks the side of your mouth. You hum again, embarrassed at how angry you got. He knows you well, so he goes on to say,
“Don’t be embarrassed. You deal with them more than me. So it’s understandable that you got upset. Go downstairs and finish up. I’ll deal with Donatello, okay?” he caresses your cheek, his touch always soothes you. You hesitantly remove his hand and nod. You go down and become content when all your boys offer to help.
~Time Skip~
An hour later, you all arrive at the park. Lucky for you, a grassy area near a playground is open.
Jonathan lays out a large blanket for you all to sit on. You set down the two baskets of food and goodies and let your family get comfortable in their own seats.
“I call the PBJ!” Giorno calls out. Ungalo pouts and crosses his arm, he nudges at your sleeve.
“But I want that…” he says sadly. You laugh, searching through one of the baskets.
“Oh honey, don’t worry. I’m sure we have one more…”
You give him one and smile when he hugs your side. All the others ask of you and Jonathan for things and activities as the day goes on.
“Dad, can I go for a quick walk around the park?” George asks.
“P/P/T, may I have a cookie?” Rikiel asks shyly.
“Can I go play fetch with Danny? I’ll stay near, I promise.” Donatello asks.
“I want to look at the garden- can we go after they’re done playing?” Giorno asks as he points at Ungalo and Rikiel playing tag with the other kids at the playground.
You and Jonathan never said no to their questions. You love and trust them with all your being- them going against you is low in chances.
You collect your belongings and go to the garden Giorno asked to go to. You hold a basket in front of you as you watch Giorno educate his brothers about the different plants and insects. Your heart melts as George picks up Rikiel and Donatello pick ups Ungalo to help them inspect the taller plants.
Jonathan removes the basket from your hands and places them in front of you both. You look at him confused. He smiles as he takes your hand and kisses the back of it.
“Thank you for this.” he whispers. You rolls your eyes playfully as you mindlessly ask,
“For what?”
“For giving me a family… I wouldn’t ask for anything in this world aside from pure happiness for you and our boys. You all keep me going and I appreciate you the most for that.”
You’re a blushing mess as he leans in and kisses you. You kiss back, true love can be seen by outsiders. You locks arms with him and place your head on his shoulder.
You and your husband resume to watching your sons bond and blossom.
