While I do think anon was rude, I do think it's pretty shitty to set up all this stuff you were going to add the au and then just drop it. It's disappointing. Definitely unfollowing.

Bye.
#ask me#anon#once AGAIN.#I am not dropping anything#the au is not getting cancelled. more than likely i'm gonna take a break from it until i find motivation again#But I've been drawing the AU for half a fucking year#In that time I've only drawn 5 things that aren't mlp related#I'm getting tired and my last few posts didn't do as well as I'd hoped#And I'm not about to burn myself out on mlp au art even if I really do love making it#I'm still gonna make comics. I have a bunch of ideas.#Tulli and I still wanna do the limited run merch shop#Discord is still coming. Sunset is still coming. Sombra is still coming. I have so many ideas#But I need to do something else for my own sake. Did you know I was supposed to get the background 6 designs done by now#But I didn't because I'm TIRED#I've been keeping myself on a schedule to keep content pumping despite travel and school and family and I'm tired#what i'm getting isn't matching what i'm giving and that's nobody's fault. i'm not frustrated at anyone. a slump was bound to happen#drawing the au was fun until it become my Thing. Because when your Thing––your identity––starts to faulter#it can really make you freak out#And that's not healthy for the project or for myself. I need to find the fun again and I'm sure I will#I'm really appreciative of everyone's support in my inbox and replies it really does mean a lot especially given that about 2/3 of my#followers followed for mlp. But if you're gonna react to me saying “i'm gonna cool down on mlp art and draw my own stuff” with “i'm#disappointed in you." then Leave! I think it's good you're unfollowing#you are not obligated to stick by my side! But don't act like I'm doing you a disservice by turning my attention elsewhere#I didn't promise anyone anything and I definitely didn't say I'm breaking any promises.

MLP AU Lore;
- Luna and Celestia are twins born from magic by a Cosmic Unicorn named GalaxyHeart. Galaxy  had made the alicorns, and certain alicorns made the rest of the species on Equestria.
- Generation one is around the time Celestia, Luna, Opaline, Discord, and Tirek are Born.
- Generation two is around the time Luna and Celestia were put on the throne, Tirek put to prison, Discord put to stone, and Opaline is unknown to them.
- Generation 3 is when Celestia takes on students. Chrysalis, Sombra and Cadence come to power.  Luna becomes Nightmare Moon, and accidentally causes a rainboom.
Generation 3 is the longest time between other generations. Luna,  goes back to normal, as the Rainboom had changed her. She doesn't understand it, as its not her Element nor her power. However this made her stronger and wiser, and she forgave her sister. However, Celestia did not like this, she wanted the upper hand.
Her newest student, Sunset Shimmer had a plan. She convinced Celestia that if she could turn her into an alicorn, their powers could combine. Celestia eventually agreed and thus, attempted to use umbra magic to do so. But suddenly, it fused the two and turned them into the wicked Supernova.
Luna had no idea that two ponies with sun magic would be so dangerous. Hurt by her sister, but seeing no other option and needing to keep Equestria safe, she banned Supernova to the Sun.
- A hundred moons went by and Generation four came around. Luna had become Queen and continued Celestia's school. She had  picked a new student, Radiance RainbowDash. She knew the RainbowDashes and Sparkles had always been In Celestia's school, and it was hard to choose between Twilight or Radiance..
Eventually Radience RainbowDash would be friends with Twilight Sparkle, Crimson Applejack, Meadow Fluttershy, Pearl Rarity, and Pinkie Pie.
Other information;
- Starcatcher and Opaline are sisters. Starcatcher is a Pegasus who makes dreams come true.
- Since at the time, in G2 the Alicorns were still around and many, three Unicorns stepped up as rulers to care of the sun, moon and love. The rulers in order was.                    - Golden Glow                    - Silver Glow                    - Copper Glow
- Silver Glow and her sisters are the daughters of Twilight and Princess Sparkle. Eventually Silver Glow has daughters of her own, Silver Swirl and Star Swirl. Silver Swirl's son is Swirly Sparkle.
- Starcatcher, The Unicorn Princesses and Harmony are the only nonalicorn ponies with long life spands and do not age. Though by the time Celestia and Luna become Rulers, they do not know where the others have gone until Skywishes finds Starcatcher.
Skywishes and Starcatcher is Cadence's mothers.
- Despite what many may think, The era of the 3 sisters was not a happy time. Though they did their best, who choice would forever stain Equestria.
Prince Firefly, an earth pony who was attempting to do magic. The sisters claimed that it could not be done.. one day he tried to prove it to them, but he had mistakenly used unknown magic, and caused a large portion of a town to be destroyed. The sisters bannished him to unknown regions. In a fit of anger, he used the magic again, but this time it changed him.... and thus, the beginnings of changelings. Eventually Ivy would run off to be with him and help him start a kingdom.
- Starsong and Swirly are Twilight Sparkle's Grandparents from her mom's side. Neither her mom or her know she's from a line of royalty as Swirly chose not to be as Celestia and Luna were the rulers when he was a foal.
Twilight has three siblings; Shining armor (Older brother), Moondancer (Twin), and Star Dreams ( Little Sister ).
Other;
Pinkie Pie still has Marble, Maud and Limestone as older sisters (triplets), but has her other other sister, Sweetie Swirl who is her twin.
Rainbow's siblings are Holly Dash and Dewdrop Dazzle.
Fluttershy's adoptive older sister and caretaker is Lily Blossom.
I also may rework the name but for now I'm thinking LunaBoom ?
Also you may have seen my older AU stuff and its actually all the same AU its just been reworked. I'm currently working on designs and such and this is all still a big wip.

Part 2 of this little trial... (Please note, this was written before the defense)
When a crime is being committed, the punishment should reflect the crime. The only reason they would not be punished is if they do not have the cognitive knowledge to understand what they have done. This is because they did not know or they’re crazy. Cozy Glow does not fit any of these traits. Proving she’s not crazy is pretty easy considering she acts civil for the majority of the time and thoroughly planned this event.
Now how could I prove that Cozy Glow did understand what she was doing? I could use her words where she believes Friendship is Power. I could use her actions where she imprisoned Starlight Glimmer or Chancellor Neighsay because they were in her way. Or I could use the fact she perfectly planned to not only take away magic but take out the seven who could likely have stopped her if they knew her intentions.
This was planned early. To be a pen pal with Tirek and to earn his trust had to take at least months to get this information. To integrate herself with the faculty so they can trust her without question. Even using the Cutie Mark Crusaders to make herself seem like she learned the lessons of Friendship after trying to fake failing to get them to be part of the school. She proved her actions have a reason behind them and it almost worked.
Her plan was simple: remove the magic from Equestria so she can take over as Empress of Friendship. Regardless if it would have worked or not, if she was successful then the entire landscape of Equestria would have changed. The Weather would be out of control. Perishables would be gone since magic is what preserved them. Transportations would be greatly affected since Pegasi needs magic to fly as seen in Generation 5.
And Generation 5 is not proof that things would have turned out alright. Twilight Sparkle put all the magic into three stones with the promise that as long as they are living in harmony they can use magic. And by that time technology has improved to give us cellular service and television. So even if the magic slowly drained because of their growing distrust for each other, technology grew to defend themselves and improve their current living conditions.
Some would think punishing Cozy Glow would diminish the message of Friendship is Magic, but have you really seen how the majority of the villains are taken care of? Nightmare Moon: Blasted. Discord: Blasted. Chrysalis: Blasted. Sombra: Blasted. Sunset Shimmer: Blasted. The Dazzlings: Blasted. Tirek: Blasted. The Storm King: Blasted. That’s 8 villains blasted. Be it magically reformed, imprisoned, or even destroyed, that was their first go to actions.
So why did other reformed villains get to turn good and not Cozy Glow or the others. Besides those magically turned good, in a word, they chose to. Celestia’s plan for Discord to be reformed was to use Fluttershy. Twilight wanted to put him back in stone or come up with a reform spell to do the job. And when Fluttershy promised to not use the Elements of Harmony and she kept it despite him being a jerk, the only reason he stopped was because he wanted to be friends with Fluttershy and chose to stop it.
Starlight Glimmer went back in time to change the past. Ignoring that because it's a debate on its own, Twilight’s many first actions to stop Starlight was mostly to fight her. It was pretty much a standstill until Starlight threatened to just tear up the spell. At that point, there was nothing Twilight could do other than try to convince Starlight that she could. And Starlight did because deep down, she did want to change.
So what about magicing up her redemption. The thing is, that doesn’t fix the problem. Luna being the prime example showed that despite being blasted good, the underlying issues that caused her to be Nightmare Moon in the first place still existed. It took until A Royal Problem to finally settle the beef between the two as Royals. Because if not, maybe both Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker would become reality.
Stygian is another example of someone magically reformed. But it was a lot different from Luna’s case. While you could argue the Shadow he was producing was from himself or an outside force possessing him, the real reason was because of Starswirl's actions. And no magic would have fixed that until Starswirl realized his mistake and apologized for it. As far as we know, Cozy Glow has nothing like that going for her. When she was about to win, she continued on her plans and did not undo her actions before it was too late.
So the biggest issue people seem to take is Cozy Glow being sent to Tartarus. A recent post saying sending a kid to hell. Ignoring headcanons and interpretations, there are multiple instances where a child is punished for their actions. If she is too young or mentally incompetent she would be excused. And we know she isn’t mentally incompetent of those. So that leaves being too young to go to jail or if she is a teenager.
Those not of age are usually sent to the Juveniles, basically a prison for kids. Depending on their actions, they could either be sent to therapy and counseling or when they are of age, be sent to prison. This is a case that happened in 1993 where two boys who were 10 were given this treatment. While this was possibly undone, this is under the assumption that Cozy Glow is 10 years old or under.
If she is a Teenager, that means she would be tried as an adult. And while she would be sent to the Juvenile, as soon as she turns 18 she would be sent to the adult prison. So based on her actions as well as how she acts, there is a 2/3 chance that she would be seeing a prison cell for her actions. In the end, for stealing all the magic and erasing it from Equestria, for tricking and imprisoning the faculty and authority figures, and planning to take over Equestria with her army of Friends, Cozy Glow deserves to be sent to Tartarus.
And this is ignoring her other attempt at trying to take over Equestria. (The following was written after the defense) Teaming up with two dangerous villains. Willing to stab them in the back when she thought she had the edge with Discord’s power. Seeing the damage their actions cause to bring in the Windigos. Tirek even said it himself, “I'd had enough of you trying to manipulate me with that insincere, syrupy sweetness. At least now we can see the real you.” And the real her is, straight up, evil.

Now that you read the Defense and Prosecution, click here to give your own thoughts on Cozy Glow’s Fate. Should she be given a redemption? Or should she be imprisoned?

Click here for the original comic this is based on
15.ai vid for an ask that was sent after a story I had where Starlight and the spirit of Sunset head to Fluttershy's cottage for some tea. This included getting Genie Twilight's Sunset meeting Discord for the first time. And she was quite peeved having heard that he had released Tirek, Chrysalis, and most of all Cozy (Who as established before, played a role in Sunset's death)
Though naturally the question of Discord bringing back Sombra seemingly from the dead it's probably natural to ask if he's able to resurrect just anypony. So it's probably fair to come up with a way where Discord was able to bring Sombra back like he did. But he can't for spirits like Sunset. As Sunset explains, Sombra himself get enough knowledge of dark magic to be able to make himself semi-immortal but if he is defeated he'd be sent to a void of some kind. Sombra perhaps got too arrogant and didn't think he would be defeated, so he took the trade-off. For most spirits, however they can never go back to their bodies or having a living body again. Even though I have it now possible to talk to deceased characters whenever they want (As long as someone that was friends or related to them are alive to summon them anyway). There still needs to be some form of permanence of death so it didn't make it entirely cheap. Discord nor Genie Twilight even with such fantastic powers can't simply bring back the dead as if they never died.
There are still things that Genie Twilight's Sunset and/or say Applejack's parents can't do. But they'll easily take just being able to hug and talk with their family again thanks to Spike's dragon tear.

Best Equestria Girls/Unconfirmed Couples in MLP
This is once again going to be a heavily biased list. I literally like all these ships the same except #10 but it would be a weird list to have a nine way tie. these couples were either only hinted at in the final season of My little pony, were in the comics, or were from Equestria Girls. They will be ranked on how much of a romance they seem to have.
#10:  Applejack and Rainbow Dash
Tumblr media
There is nothing wrong with these two being a couple, as they are implied to be in the final episode of MLP, I just never shipped them and never found there was any romantic tension between the two, just friendship. The only romantic thing I can think of is from the scene the picture shows where they are friendly bickering about how Rainbow should be allowed to help Applejack with her farm chores.
#9:  King sombra and Radiant Hope
Tumblr media
I love these two so much. Through flashbacks we see how these two met, were the best of friends growing up, and than Sombra falling in love with Hope. Even in his monsterous shadow pony form Sombra wants Hope to be his queen, and Hope still loves him, and when he is turned into a full pony they run off together side by side to explore Equestria finding Amore shards to restore her. Hope risked her safety and her freedom to save Sombra and there love oozes from the pages. However, the reason they are number 9 and not number 1 is because of Sombra’s treatment of her as a shadow pony. He emotionally manipulated her to stay by his side, screamed and yelled at her, threatened her, and kept her basically prisoner in the castle, he changes in the end but that doesn’t change what he did to her.
#8: Flash Sentry and Twilight Sparkle
Tumblr media
They used to be my favourite ship when I was young, they were so cute and I found it funny seeing a blushing embarrassed Twilight, something the normal show didn’t have. However I was like 13 at the time when I watched this and Rainbow rocks for the first time, and have since seen some flaws here. There relationship is sweet in the first film and and you can tell how good of a guy Flash is, and Twilight returns these feeling, and the quick showing of them being at the dance together was adorable, but than Rainbow rocks happens. It is made clear to use that the entire time Twilight has been gone Flash has missed her(so cute) but from the show we know Twilight hasn’t thought or mentioned human Flash or pony Flash since, and continues not to think about him until she literally runs into him, and awkwardly the cuteness fades as Twilight no longer seems to know how to interact with him, which upsets Flash. Than as the sirens work there magic they become increasingly hostile towards each other and don’t really get a lot of screen time together for the rest of the movie, and than they literally never see each other again, but Flash still waits for her to return. In Everfree Forest he starts to move on.
#7: Curly Winds and Wiz Kid
Tumblr media
I don’t know enough about these two to give them a true ranking so they get this neutral spot, but from the images above I’d say they are a pretty sweet couple. And Being LGBT, I always love representation in tv shows.
#6:  Timber Spruce and Sci-Twi
Tumblr media
Sci-Twi was never meant for Flash Sentry, and I’m glad they did not get together, but Timber and Sci-Twi is a different story. He was so sweet to her, and there chemistry seemed natural, and he actually asked her out, something Flash never did, that and the almost kiss. This Twilights reaction to having a crush is different from Princess Twilights, and I love how well she gets along with him. The only reason they are not higher is because he was covering for his sister who planned on doing dangerous and illegal things. That and she’s in high school and he is an unmentioned amount years older who seems to have done this camp at least once before so it could be anywhere from a year difference to six.
#5: Yona and Sandbar
Tumblr media
Oh my god, they are so cute. The episode that first shows hints of a romance between these two is also one of my favourites because Yona is worried that the Pony’s attending the dance (aka Sand Bar who is the one who invited her) will judge her because she does not look, act, or dance like a pony(because she’s a Yak) and she tries to make herself more pony only to make a fool of herself and mess up the dance. However when she runs off Sandbar finds her and comforts her and tells her that he liked her for being herself and that he doesn’t care that she is a yak. He than asks her back to the dance where they spend the rest of the night together. Also they are seen holding hoofs in the big fight at the end, and are seeming living together at  Carousel Boutique.
#4: Hoofbeard and Jewel
Tumblr media
If you didn’t read the IDW comics you would never know these two, but the mane six go on an adventure with Captain Hoofbeard and try and find his treasured Jewel, but the X on the map keeps moving, in the end its revealed that Jewel isn’t a gem, but a seapony and an old girlfriend of Hoofbeard. He confesses that he still loves her and wishes they could be together but knows that she breaths water and he breaths air, but Twilight uses a spell that gives him gills and some fins. He traveled the ocean, like how Cranky Donkey traveled the land, to find his love again, and faced many dangers to do so.
#3:  Fluttershy and Discord
Tumblr media
I always thought these two should stay friends, especially considering he’s immortal ad she isn’t, but in the later seasons it was impossible to deny the romance forming between the two. Discord loves Fluttershy and gets giddy anytime he thinks about her and has pictures of her, and they have tea parties(dates) every week. For Fluttershy she knows Discord like the back of her hoof and is deeply hurt when he sort of betrays the group in the finally, but before that Angel(her bunny who knows everything about her) while in Fluttershy’s body stated how it was Fluttershy’s wish to MARRY DISCORD. In the finally Discord drops Fluttershy at Twilights and gives her a lunch, implying that they live together and during Fluttershy’s part of the song The Magic Of Friendship Grows, as she sings the line, “And because the love that I feel, For every single living creature is something that is real , Friendship happens so naturally ” Discord comes out of a portal and they stare at each other and se extends her wing out to him as he flies just off screen. The writers say there relationship is up to the viewers interpretation, but they are obviously in love and married by the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImsTS1Kb9ww
#2:  Flash sentry and Sunset Shimmer
Tumblr media
Here’s where the bias comes in. In the first film its said how these two used to be a couple but that they broke up not long before the series because of how bad she used to be, and than its never mentioned again until Everfree where Flash and Sunset have a momment where they confide in each other because they still know each other in ways the other main characters don’t know her. Flash even asks her if she’d like to start over, than awkwardly adds the friends part but its obvious hw they look at each other that there is still a spark there and it will most likely be rekindled soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI5lTaUahfU
#1:  King Sombra and Princess Celestia
Tumblr media
This was the Romeo and Juliet is Romeo and Juliet where literally from other worlds and actually loved each other. This comic pulled at my heartstrings so much that I could never look at Sombra in the TV show the same way again. In this four part series its revealed that before Luna even became Nightmare moon Celestia had been visiting this other Equestria where its ruled by a kind Sombra and the two fell in love and have secretly been visiting each other on and off since. But there travels is ripping the barrier between the two world apart so they can’t see each other as often. In the end Sombra restores the barrier, saving both there worlds, by sacrificing himself by absorbing the evil of the alternate versions of Luna and Celestia, becoming just like Sombra in Celestia’s world. His final act is telling Celestia to leave him(So he won’t do anything he’d regret to her) than on the final page Celestia alone says how much she still loves him, and in his own dimension, despite being evil, admits how he still loves her as well. In the end they are never allowed to see each other again, but there love still transcends dimensional boarders.

MLP Headcanon Dump
Just realized that I never bothered to post this on here. Heads up, this is a VERY long post.
Svengallop's parents are Charity Kindheart and Bracer Britches. The two had a brief affair, but never officially dated and Sven was an accident. Charity loved her son, but passed away due to illness when he was a teenager, so Sven was sent to live with his father who never wanted him. This has a lot to do with Svengallop's attitude as an adult.
All pure blooded draconequui are able to become pregnant or impregnate a partner, regardless of gender.
Wind Rider is a womanizer and serial adulterer with several illegitimate children, including Helia, Lighting Dust and Cloudy Daze among others.
There are some ponies who eat meat, such as fish, pork and chicken (eating beef and venison would be considered immoral since bovines and deer in Equestria are sentient). It's not particularly common and is actually considered gross by the majority, not unlike humans who eat insects. Equestria also has plenty of vegan alternatives that exist in our world, such as tofu and artificial meat.
The comic arc "Siege of the Crystal Empire" was actually just a fanfic written by Mina the dragon.
Tree Hugger is a member of the Hooffield Family. She ran away from home as a teen because she was sick of the constant fighting with the McColts. After running away she ended up joining a hippie commune, which is how she became the mare she is today.
Ocellus is the daughter of Queen Chrysalis. She will be queen of Thorax's hive after he is gone.
It is a tradition in Equestria for nurses to add 'heart' to the end of their names once they graduate nursing school. For example, Nurse Redheart's birth name is Redlove and Nurse Sweetheart is Sweetcream. This is in honor of Nurse Cureheart, the nurse credited for curing Celestia's broken heart after Luna's banishment.
The baby brother Hoops mentions in "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" is actually Spiral Notepad, who is now a trans filly.
Yaks speak Equestrian (aka English) so badly only because they have their own language and Equestrian is foreign to them.
The Kirin are thought to be the result of Asian unicorns interbreeding with dragons, but this has never been proven.
Derpy Hooves and Dinky Doo are mother and daughter, with Dinky having been born to Derpy when she was still in her teens. (I know it's an old headcanon, but I'll always have a soft spot for it.)
Quibble Pants is a natural blonde.
Derpy Hooves' real name is Ditzy Doo. "Derpy" was a childhood nickname that just kinda stuck.
Derpy has an eye condition called strabismus, hence the crooked eyes.
Crackle is a pseudodragon, a species of lizard that disguise themselves as dragons. Despite having twice as many limbs and gems growing out of them, they are accepted by dragons as one of their own.
Flash Sentry and Spearhead are brothers and are both descended from a pony that escaped the Crystal Empire during King Sombra's reign.
Sunset Shimmer and Sunburst are cousins.
Discord created Poison Joke.
Toe Tapper and Torch Song are the parents of Coco Pommel.
Hoity Toity is part mule, hence the long ears.
Celestia was born with an all-pink mane and tail and would have gained more shades of orange and yellow as she grew, but she instead gained hues of green and blue when she took over Luna's duty of raising the moon after Nightmare Moon's banishment.
Wind Sprint's original father died in a sports-related accident, which is why Clear Sky found comfort and common ground with Quibble Pants who was able to distract her from sports for a while. Unfortunately, as we all know from the episode, this had no effect on Wind Sprint's persistent love for sports.
Celestia was technically the first pony who managed to pull off a sonic rainboom, but it wasn't the same as Rainbow Dash's since she lacked the colors of a proper rainbow. Over time it was forgotten, but Celestia's "rainboom" was the basis of the sonic rainboom being a myth in the first place.
Pinkie Pie and Applejack's respective families are both descended from the children of Chancellor Puddinghead and Smart Cookie.
Orchard Blossom is an actual Apple family member that Big Mac was impersonating in "Brotherhooves Social".
Rainbow Blaze (the rainbow-maned stallion from "Games Ponies Play" who was confirmed is not Rainbow Dash's father) is Rainbow Dash's older brother.
The final alternate future seen in "The Cutie Remark-Part 2" where Equestria is nothing but an apocalyptic wasteland is a result of Daybreaker coming to life and burning everything to the ground into pure ash. It got so bad that it ultimately left Daybreaker with no kingdom to rule anymore. (As horrifying as it sounds, the dirt that Twilight and Starlight were standing on in that scene included the ashes of hundreds of dead ponies.)
Pear Butter and Bright Mac were killed by Timberwolves on a day trip. Sadly, Granny Smith considers herself responsible for this as she forgot to warn them about the Timberwolves that day. As a result, this is also why Applejack is so good at fighting them off.
Due to their godlike status, Celestia and Luna are the only immortal alicorns. Ordinary royalty like Twilight Sparkle, Cadance, and Flurry Heart have longer lifespans than normal ponies but can still die of old age.
Screwball is the daughter of Nurse Sweetheart and her eyes only become swirly when she's exposed to Poison Joke. The effect it has on her is that it makes her see weird stuff and she used to be addicted to it, but ended up quitting altogether as the last time she used it (around the time Discord returned) caused her to see some pretty nightmarish imagery.
The episode "Yakety Sax" was just a bad fever dream Pinkie Pie had after eating too much Yak cuisine one day.
All the changelings in Thorax's hive are siblings born from the same queen. Changelings do not interbreed with members of their own hive, though they may form family units with their siblings and adopt grubs to raise, hence the family of changelings Ocellus was seen with in "Hearths Warming Club".
Whoa Nelly's real name is Jelly Nelly Bean. Her large size is the result of a very rare pituitary disorder.
Fluttershy's human world counterpart is a vegan.
Aunt and Uncle Orange are both parental figures to Babs Seed. Whether they're her biological or adoptive parents in still unknown.
The hippocampus (aka the seaponies from the 2017 movie) once existed as a separate race, but are believed to have been driven to extinction because of the Sirens, who destroyed their homes, depleted their food sources, and even directly preyed on them. This was of course before Queen Novo fled into the sea and formed the seaponies we know from the 2017 movie.
Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood had Scootaloo later in life as they didn't really plan to have a foal, hence why they're such thoughtless parents.
Mane Allgood is actually a cousin of Daring Do.
Bulk Biceps is Featherweight's biological father. He was formerly married to an abusive, neglectful, and alcoholic wife, resulting in a divorce and Bulk and Featherweight moving to Ponyville and leaving her for good.
Cheese Sandwich is the younger brother of Marine Sandwich. The real reason he ran away from home and stumbled into Ponyville by chance is because he wanted to get away from his psychotic older sister. (Based off of this.)
Cheese Sandwich and Mudbriar are cousins.
Limestone Pie's talent is mixing drinks.
Burnt Oak is the father of the pony versions of Timber Spruce and Gloriosa Daisy.
Rumble is a trans colt.
Granny Smith's real name is Maria Ann Smith, or "Annie Smith" for short.
Fluttershy is the oldest of the Man Six, while Pinkie Pie is the youngest.
Trixie's full name is actually Bellatrix Lulamoon. She prefers to go by Trixie as it's easier to remember.
Tempest Shadow didn't receive her cutie mark until she was an adult, AFTER the events of the MLP movie where she started using her horn to make fireworks.
The draconequus were once a race of creatures that went to war against ponykind after their prince (aka Discord) was turned to stone. The war resulted in many of them being wiped out and it's currently unknown if any besides Discord still exist today.
Kirin shed and regrow their horns once a year, similar to deer antlers. Shed kirin horns make a powerful ingredient in potions.

...alright fuq it lemme explain my thoughts about the finale spoilers lol
Don’t worry, I WILL be posting this under a read-more so PLEASE turn away and ignore this now (especially with some “spoiler” tags on if you use ‘em) if you don’t want to be spoiled for the finale until it officially airs. I just can’t contain my thoughts no more after ponderin’ them and who knows when it’ll officially air in English (’cause slow schedules can be a pain to deal with lol) sooooo... yeah you’ve been warned xp
...Ooooh boi, well admittedly I kinda skimmed through what the whole plot was about behind the last three episodes (I was moreso focused on all the stuff happening for “The Last Problem” so lol), but I’ll try to keep it brief for the most part:
-So... that whole thing about Grogar being the last “big bad” was just a total lie... since apparently it was just Discord masking himself as the guy just to give Twilight one last battle to face? ...Ehhh, I get that he apparently had “good intentions” but this just seems to be pushing it too far even for Discord’s standards tbh... like these are his friends now (including Fluttershy, his best friend) so why would he allow this much risk to be thrown at them for the sake of just teaching them a valuable lesson about overcoming obstacles? ._. Then again, this IS Discord we’re talking about so him pulling some shady stuff like this is to be expected, I guess? Idk...
-As another twist to the trio of bad guys... NONE of them get redeemed at the end (not even Cozy Glow... who again, is nothing more than a whiny child compared to Chrysalis and Tirek :P), as they all pretty much get blasted with the same stone spell that Discord was under for what I can presume to be forever. I mean... had Sombra been placed in Cozy Glow’s position then I guess I’d be a bit more satisfied with this kind of ending for them instead of feeling questionable about it (’cause again, Cozy’s young age ^^;)... but at the same time, for what it is it’s at least a refreshing change of pace from just having them all instantly forgiven and befriended by all the main heroes. Now that would’ve been cringey... >_<
-We got a reaaally big group of cameos from many past ponies/other creatures from the show to aid in the final battle, including Sunset and a few of the MLP movie characters like Tempest, Capper and Skystar! o.o A shame that Captain Celaeno couldn’t have been added along with them but still, pretty cool to see that particular trio regardless along with my girl Sunset ❤️ about time the main show acknowledged her importance to Twilight -.-
-Moving onto the big finale itself, “The Last Problem”, we cut ahead to I presume to be a couple decades or so since the last episode... where Twilight and her friends are all grown up and leading their own lives as Twilight’s pupil (Luster Dawn, was it?) comes to prepare herself for her own first friendship lesson. Surprisingly, unlike past finales it’s not so much a really heavy or action-packed episode but more of a “relaxing breather” kinda filler... yet still pushes the feels the more we get to see the aged-up cast and realize how this truly is the end for our heroes :(
-We’re also given a nice flashback to Twilight’s coronation as Equestria’s new leader, though it didn’t go according to plan it still provided some heartwarming feels to teach that friendships will always remain solid even if some end up moving far away. Awww ;w;.
-As for the “Grown up” designs themselves... I’m kinda torn, tbh lol
Tumblr media
On one hand, I do like Rainbow’s, Fluttershy’s, and AJ’s older looks just fine. AJ’s especially gives me the feels looking at it ‘cause of the shawl... really hits in that poor Granny Smith is no longer around by this time :( at least she’ll always keep her memory strong in her heart ❤️
As for Twilight, Rarity, Spike and Pinkie... ehhhh ^^;. Rarity’s sparkly shawl is rather pretty though that big grey steak in her hair kinda clashes too much with the regular purple imo, Pinkie’s beehive look could’ve been fine if they just took out all that random junk in her hair, and while part of me kinda likes the “ethereal princess-y” vibes of Twilight (despite the rather dark implications that she’s gonna outlive her friends now ;-;)... the fact that she still sounds like her old dorky self when speaking kinda kills the effect for me... plus idk if only a couple decades in the future would be enough to make her this tall as an alicorn, I mean even Luna (who’s older than her) is alot shorter so it’s just a little off-putting to me to see her so “Celestia”-sized ^^;. And as for Spike... yeah, I don’t even know what’s going on there, so... let’s just move on, please lol.
So then we get to look over how everyone else in Ponyville’s doing, with so many new species living there now, some old kiddos grew up like the CMC and the Cake twins, Starlight and her friends (plus the Student 6) continuing to run the friendship school together, and apparently some canon couples started to thrive during this time too including Lyra and Bon Bon, Big Mac and Sugar Belle, and... Pinkie and Cheese? o.o
Tumblr media
...Um, wow lol Wasn’t really expecting that considering that most of Cheese and Pinkie’s previous screentime together (which was only in like, two episodes?) wasn’t really that romantic from what I can recall, but guess the writers decided to just throw it in anyway ‘cause it’s a popular ship? lol I mean, not like it’s a bad one or anything but it still feels a bit randomly-placed in a narrative sense imo ^^;
Speaking of their daughter (Lil Cheese, I think?), while I do think she’s cute, part of me is kinda disappointed that they didn’t really get more creative with her design like they’ve done for Flurry Heart and the Cake twins :c. Color-wise she looks okay but... why just make her a recolor of her mom’s filly design? .-. Even putting her hair in some pigtails or something would’ve worked better imo.
Tumblr media
-Some more design nitpicks I had were certain weirdly placed hairstyles like Pumpkin Cake’s and Diamond Tiara’s, as well as why Gummy the alligator just looks like he resized into a giant than legitimately grew into an adult lol. Also this might also be nitpicky but why exactly is everyone (minus Twilight) so old-looking with grayed hair and/or eye bags (ex. Rarity and Sugar Belle), when a couple of them have school-aged children at this point? .-. Hell, even most of the Mane 6′s parents didn’t look this old (including Twilight’s, and they’ve got a granddaughter lol), so I’m kinda confused by this type of design choice tbh.
-I don’t really remember if they explicitly stated what happened to the old princesses during this time since they didn’t show up again, nor what the final fates of Shining Armor and Cadence were (save for a brief shot of Flurry Heart having her own stain-glass window in the throne room). Idk, just would’ve been nice to have gotten more explicit about that ‘cause I don’t wanna think of these poor royals being gone now with just Twilight being the leader now ;-;
-I guess there was also a couple “implied” ships thrown in too like Fluttershy and Discord (though that one might be more “loose” to interpret, depending on how much you like the ship) and apparently AJ and Rainbow Dash seem to be having something “deeper” going on considering they specifically walked in together when all the other Mane 6 walked in individually into the throne room. Hmmm...?
-And lastly after a bit more filler and than a montage song of the Mane 6 harmonizing together one last time, we get to close off the entire episode, season, and series with one final shot of the heroes standing on a sunset-y hillside together, saying goodbye to Twilight’s student who goes off on her own friendship adventures... and then the screen fades to a book closing as a call back to the very first episode of the series over 9 years ago... where the exact same book opened up to start off our beloved show to begin with T-T
Tumblr media Tumblr media
....aaaand yeah my feels exploded over again, sorry T-T. Despite the lil nitpicks I had here and there (and how I wish certain plot holes could’ve been handled better in hindsight), this was still a really sweet and thoughtful way to end MLP: FiM with one last batch of fluff like this... the end of a good 9-year run of the show which’ll surely leave a special place in every fan’s hearts, including mine ❤️
Though again, like I mentioned before I still won’t be considering any of this actually “canon” in the main universe I’m setting up, which is all basically an AU at this point since I haven’t really been keeping up with the show as frequently to care much for sticking with the main canon :p. For my fellow content creators, please don’t be afraid to keep working on your own next gens and such btw, even if some of it might be contradicted in this particular finale I’d say anyone is free to make their own interpretations however they want, canon or no canon~ ;p
Hope y’all understand that well and I hope you guys have a great rest of your day! 😃

The MLP comics are fine (and so is the extended universe)
I will talk about the comics and the extended lore the rest of the medias provide us with more world building. For those who haven’t read the comics, there will be major spoilers, so read at your own risks. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
Of course, there are Bronies who still consider the comics as non canon. Just like there are Bronies who consider the Equestria Girls as non canon. And same thing with the chapter books.
Others call all that the “extended universe”.
Me? I like Equestria Girls, I like the comics, and the chapter books too. OF COURSE THERE ARE INCONSISTENCIES (< that’s the main reason people don’t like the comics/chapter books/etc, which I think is stupid), the authors don’t have the time to check everything with the show, but they do their best (and especially vice-versa). The show writers don’t follow the comics (and the rest...) because they simply don’t have the time. The comic writers make sometimes references or even sequel to some episodes because they watch the show (show writers don’t read comics and chapter books).
So I consider the “extanded universe” as canon. I don’t care about plot holes, DC comics and Marvel comics have lots of those, and a ton of alternate universes too (reboots, earth-two shenanigans, etc). So why being so hard on the MLP comics ? I really don’t get it. If the reason the comics crush people’s headcanons, I’m sorry, but that’s a lame excuse.
Tumblr media
I can understand that the whole “I can’t keep up with all of that” thing, but using it as an excuse for hating the comics (and others medias) is kinda dumb.
And because Hasbro said  “anything that is said in the cartoon, it is primairy canon above any others medias“ is the source of many arguments inside the fandom. That and if they use comic books characters in the show and no one read the thing before, viewers would be confused by what’s going on.
I still think the MLP lore is well developped with the addition of the comics.
Let’s make a recap for what we have in the MLP medias (except the toy line):
The show;
The comics;
The chapter books;
Equestria Girls franchise.
Now, let’s see what kind of comics we have :
The main serie (Friendship is Magic, ongoing)
The Micro serie (10 issues)
Friends Forever (38 issues, replaced Micro Serie)
FIENDship is Magic (5 issues, released at the same time of Friends Forever in April 2015)
Legends of Magic (12 issues, replaced Friends Forever)
Ponyville Mysteries, “sequel” to the eponymous chapter book serie (5 issues, replaced Legends of Magic)
Nightmare Knights (5 issues, replaced Ponyville Mysteries)
The movie prequel (4 issues, released before the movie)
Annuals (somehow ongoing, you may never know *shrugs*).
Now, the list of the chapter books :
The “main serie”, featuring one character;
The Equestria Girls ones (even tho most of them are just book version of the EG movies and specials);
The Princess Collection;
Ponyville Mysteries;
Beyond Equestria, books that features one of the main characters with characters from the Movie.
Yup, that’s a lot.
With all of this, it is certain that the lore of Friendship is Magic was expanded. But alternate worlds in the comics are not the first alternate worlds the franchise has.
There are alternate universes mentioned in the show.
Remember the season 5 finale? There are SIX different timelines :
Sombra war (King Sombra wins);
Everlasting Night (Nightmare Moon wins);
Changeling Invasion (Chrysalis wins);
Total Chaos (Discord wins);
Ultimate Destruction (Tirek wins);
Industrialization (Flim-Flam win).
Each being actually CANON. They are just not the timeline the show is following. That makes them ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, in a sense (just like Flashpoint).
I know that an universe and a timeline is not quite the same, but it still parallel worlds.
So why rejecting the alternate universe that appear in the comics? If we consider everything canon, we have :
1. The Main Equestria (pun not intended)
I’ll call it Equestria 1, from the show and which has 6 different timelines. In a way, the timelines still exist as parallel worlds. So if using the right magic/spell, it may be possible to visit the alt timelines. I’m not going to arg about it like in The Flash, because science isn’t really used in Friendship is Magic, so yeah, don’t start the science talk about alt timelines in a cartoon with magical horses.
2. The Equestria Girls world
From Equestria Girls duh where everyone looks like humans. Sunset Shimmer, who is from Equestria 1, stays there because Hasbro don’t want to mix her with the main show (fight me, this is the real reason why she’s not back to Equestria).
3. The Mirror-verse (comics)
I know that TECHNICALLY every alternate universes are “mirror-verses” because the portals to every alt worlds are mirrors, but I call this one Mirror-verse because every characters are the total opposite from Equestria 1. All the good guys are evil, and all the evil guys are good.
In Reflection (main serie, issue 17-20), the two alternate worlds became so “close” that the merge between them could have destroy them both. The King Sombra from this world stored all the evil of the Mirror-verse inside of him to restore the balance.
Also, this King Sombra is in love with Princess Celestia from Equestria 1. Mmmh... Maybe that’s why people don’t like the comics : their waifu is actually taken (well, not anymore after Reflection). We haven’t heard of this alternate universe since then.
4. The Shadow-verse (comics)
Alternate universe that appears in Legends of Magic and the Annual 2018 (that is a complement to Legends of Magic). This is also the world the serie Nightmare Knights is taking place (see more below).
This is also a personal fan-made name for this universe : this is the one where an alternate Pony of Shadows (aka alternate Stygian) is superpowerful. He defeated his version of Starswirl the Bearded. But as a real power hungry villain, he wanted more. He tried to corrupted the Celestia and the Luna from his world but his Starswirl stopped him from doing so.
But between this moment in the past and in the present day, Green Pony of Shadows (yes, that’s how I’ll call him, because he has green fire/shadows) contacted his counterpart through his dreams: apparently, he succeded to corrupt his Celestia (his Luna seemed to be too weak to resist corruption). So of course, Princess Luna and Stygian from Equestria 1 decided to rescue Celestia of Shadow-verse. But soon they realise that Green Pony of Shadows is not in charge in this universe anymore. It is Eris (Discord’s cousin) who rules the place with the staff of Sacanas (staff used by the Storm King in the Movie). We don’t know yet which world/universe Eris is from. I assume for now she’s from the Shadow-verse.
This is the plot of Nightmare Knights. We already saw easter eggs to previous villains (including Grogar). There is a King Sombra who looks like King Sombra from Mirror-verse. Is he the same Sombra who travel to Shadow-verse or is he the Sombra from Shadow-verse and he just looks like Sombra Mirror-verse post corruption ? I know this is just a reference, but there are TWO Rarities : Nightmare Rarity and Rarity corrupted by dark waters. So did they come from Shadow-verse or alternate worlds where one is corrupted by the Nightmare Forces and the other one by the dark waters ?
Also, what happened to Green Pony of Shadows ? Should I keep calling this the Shadow-verse since Eris is in charge now? I don’t know, we’ll see.
5. Unknown Atlernate universe (TCG)
Yes, even the trading card game proposes an alternate unviverse in which Solar Flare/Nightmare Star (a corrupted version of Celestia) rules her world with an iron hoof. An alternate universe so horrifying that Starswirl from Equestria 1 had to destroy the portal so that no one will know about it (also, he probably didn’t want to see Solar Flare coming in Equestria 1).
I personally prefer Solar Flare over Daybreaker. I really thought that Celestia’s evil counterpart would be it but noooooooo, Hasbro don’t know everything in their own merchandises. They are the one creating inconsistencies.
The comics created a few controversies
1. Nightmare Forces controversy
The oldest question : which princess is the best ? Back then, we can only choose between Celestia and Luna. And of course, most people choose Luna for her tragic backstory.
In the second arc in the main serie (issues 5-8) Nightmare Rarity, the story is kinda the same as in episode 4, season 2 Luna eclipsed.
It’s about her acceptance of her past and stuff like that. What the comic brings and it’s what most Bronies are not happy with is the Nightmare Forces. So, according to the story, it would be an outside force that corrupts Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon. Yeah, no : using that excuse to glorified the character is lame. Making her a slave to something wasn’t well recieved within the fandom.
The arc is supposed to happen after the episode, that’s why it is a little confusing.
But the comic never stated WHERE the Nightmare Forces come from. And I think people have tendecies to forget who Luna is : an Alicorn. What’s the connection, you ask? Well in episode 13, season 5 Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?, Luna created the Tantabus, a creature for the sole purpose of punishing herself for her past mistakes. What IS the connection, you ask? SHE IS A FREAKING ALICORN, that means she has a magic more powerful than anypony in Equestria. If she was able to create the Tantabus out of guilt, it is possible she created the Nightmare Forces out of envy and anger. It’s like her magic and feelings created another personality, Nightmare Moon and when she was defeated by the Mane 6 and the Elements of Harmony, her evil personality and its magic (the Nightmare Forces) were simply rejected from her body/mind and went to the moon waiting to come back. That’s what happens in the comic. The Nightmare Forces took over Rarity because being a bearer of an Element, that makes the rest of them useless.
There is a rest of Luna’s magic in the Forces and they started to act as a whole new entity after their separation.
Of course, this is only a headcanon, but it is the best explaination I can come up with to keep the Nightmare Forces and Luna being the only responsible for her actions (instead of putting the blame on something exterior).
2. Deers controversy
In the show, there are deers who appear to be non sentient. They look like they are being enslaved by the ponies.
In The Root of the Problem (comic main serie, issue 27-28), the story introduce us to a race of sentient deers who lived in the Everfree Forest (they are kinda the elves of Equestria) with their king, Aspen, being the ruler of their civilisation.
Since the show writers can’t add characters from the comics because it would confuse everyone, we will probably never see King Aspen in the show. Not everyone follows the comics, and not everone follows every comics.
3. Seaponies controversy
See this for more details.
I may be the only one to think about it, but I don’t care.
The Umbrum and the Pony of Shadows
I won’t hide it, King Sombra is my favorite villain of G4.
So much potential and awesome look. I was a little disapointed with his lack of screentime.
So of course I started to have headcanons about him. I learned to not go too far with them because when the canon backstory has to be revealed, it will crush my headcanons. So I waited a little to know more about King Sombra. And I was blessed with FIENDship is Magic issue 1 !
This issue tells us his origin story : he is from a tribe/kind of ponies made of shadow and darkness called the Umbrum/Umbra (I actually don’t know the plural), the shadow ponies. These ponies represent hate and fear, they are the perfect opposite of the Crystal ponies, them representing love and hope. There is a need of balance : day and night, light and darkness, fear and hope, love and hate.
Now, while I was super excited to read the arc Siege of the Crystal Empire (main serie, issue 34-37), I have to admit that despite the good premises, the writing and setting were UNFORTUNATELY lacking of quality. The so called villainous league of second rate antagonists that serves NOTHING to the story, Radiant Hope’s character (the worst Mary-Sue I have ever seen), the part where Cadance (the princess of LOVE, btw) was able to use HATE magic without getting a headache (while when Twilight did it, it was hurting a little) AND IT WAS NEVER TOUCHED UPON IN THE LAST ISSUE !!!! Just like King Sombra’s character in the season 3 premiere, a big disapointement because of the wasted potential...
Despite all that, the issue expands more about the shadow ponies (I’m trying to cope with what I can, ok?). We see their true form:
Tumblr media
Nightmare fuel
We know they attacked the Crystal Empire, leaving nothing but despair until Princess Amore created/found the Crystal Heart (Journal of the Two Sister) : the only weapon/artefact fueled with love and hope, the total opposite of what the Shadow ponies are, full of hate and fear. Since then, the Umbrum are trapped inside a prison, the Crystal Heart needs to be “refilled” with love every year (the purpose of the Crystal Fair) in order to keep the Empire safe and sounds from them.
Tumblr media
A lot of stuff happened 1000 years ago, huh ? The Umbrum left nothing but DESPAIR. Keep that in mind, it’s going to be important.
Tumblr media
The Umbrum were also mentioned in The Movie Prequel issue 4, they are well known outside of Equestria. I wanted to see this sign so bad in the Movie, because that meant the Umbrum were canon to the show, meaning the comics too. Alas, no such sign in the Movie :(
But that doesn’t explain where they come from, and you’re going to ask : “Okay, but what’s the connection with the Pony of Shadows? Because it is the title of this paragraph.”. I’m coming about it.
I think that the powers of Stygian, aka the Pony of Shadows, and the Umbrum magic ARE THE SAME/COME FROM THE SAME SOURCE.
Think about it. The Umbrum are the shadow ponies, and Stygian became the Pony of Shadows. Except the similar names, something hit me while watching Shadow Play, part 2 (episode 26, season 7) :
Pony of Shadows: [laughing maniacally] Welcome to the Well of Shade! When you turned your backs on me, I discovered this place. The darkness spoke to me of a power beyond any I could imagine, and I listened. The shadow and I became one. Soon, all of the realm will be the same. Then all ponies will feel the despair I did when you cast me out!
What if the Hollow Shades (the town where they are in this episode) was the home of the Umbrum ? They would have just travelled to the Crystal Empire for conquest or something like that (it failed, since they were trapped after they attacked), leaving the Hollow Shades empty. When Stygian was rejected by the Pillars, he was full of resentment : he tried to do something good but the Pillars thought he was just being jealous of their powers/status. So somehow, Stygian found the Well of Shade, and well, his quote says it all. It is possible that the place still had a few of the Umbrum magic and he was so resentful and full of hate for his former friends that he was able to channel the shadow ponies’ magic. It is even possible that the Umbrum looked more like Stygian in shadow form, and their famelic looking faces are just side effect of a curse/their fight against Princess Amore and the magic of the Crystal ponies.
So if we consider the comics as canon, many things can be connected and explained more in detail than the show wants to tell us. The lore just got bigger and deeper.
And it would be a shame to just stick to one media just because it could crush your own fantasies. If you don’t have the time, it’s okay: if one day you are bored, I recommand to read the comics : it’s worth it.
I spend my whole night writing this thing.

I’m a Little Upset They Made Me Excited for Something Called Hascon
But, they did, and over the past two days (and counting! expect an IDW comic panel on Sunday!), they’ve released some spoilers and news that’s pretty damn cool.
No real movie news aside from Hype! It’s coming in 4 weeks! because they didn’t want to reveal too many spoilers for that (although I’m still waiting for Hasbro to step up its marketing game with this one), but aside from that, let’s see what news we got for MLP this weekend [if you want Movie insight, I actually recommend picking up the art book. I just got mine in the mail and WOW is the concept art ever pretty]! This is your spoiler warning if you don’t like that sort of thing.
UPDATED: TONS OF STUFF! Movie Screenshots, more season 8 news, IDW comics, and more!
MLP: The Movie!
Not much in the way of spoilers (you can read the novelization or the art book for those, I guess was their thinking), but have three stills!

Equestria Girls
New outfits, designed by an actual red carpet stylist, Carol Lam, for both the new doll line and the characters in canon
New Youtube series officially announced, and it’s Choose Your Own Adventure style! Expected in November
Shorts to continue, and one has even been teased
youtube
Another one was a “2 minute short about Sunset Shimmer drawing a comic and them animating it... based around [the] girls catching a jewel thief.”
youtube
School play is a concept that’s coming up. Whether in short form, 22 minute special form, or perhaps even movie (although please note there has been no explicit mention of an EG5, so lovers of the movies will have to be patient)
“When asked if there is a Sunset Shimmer doppleganger rolling around, one of the panelists noted that her pet theory is that it was always Sunset's fate to travel to humanland, and there isn't an original Sunset in the world. They are leaving this open in canon though.”
No plans for Discord in EQG at the moment, but who knows?
Find EQD’s report on that here.
Okay, so first off? Loving the new outfits. With any other teenager characters, it would be ridiculous that they’re so well dressed and styled (I noticed Sunset’s hair is juuust slightly different, can’t see the others well enough to tell), but for these girls, it makes sense, since they’re all friends with Rarity.
So, yes, Hasbro. I’ll buy your crazy marketing tactics for now, because cute outfits.
As to the Choose Your Own Adventure series, I think that’ll be interesting, but not quite as cool to me as stuff like the shorts, specials, and movies. Just a matter of personal taste, but the world-building going on in the Overpowered short, for instance, is only really cool if it has a lasting effect on the characters and their world (the report said something about a coal miners daughter wanting to disco, and while that sounds possibly cute, it’s not exactly my cup of tea).
But it’ll be fun to try, no doubt! And definitely cool for younger fans!
The post wasn’t super clear on whether the Choose Your Own Adventure stuff was the only EQG content coming to Youtube (we have been teased about a series, similar to the Hana Zuki show Hasbro has on there already), but until we hear otherwise, assume it’s just the CYOA series.
And a school play theme really does sound like it could be used for a movie or a special, if they wanted to keep doing long-form stories, so that’s what I’m hoping for, personally.
Oh and we still don’t know what these are from/for:
Tumblr media
A currently unreleased summertime short, most likely a music video.
Tumblr media
A Netflix listing we found out about back in August. This might be the place they feature the specials and shorts, but who knows?

Additionally, I’ll point out what we know for the season 7 finale: that there’s a tie into the Legends of Magic comics, and it’s called Shadow Play parts 1&2. Whether “shadow” refers to the character Shadowlock from the main comic series or King Sombra or something else entirely, we’ll have to wait and see!
Okay, so the most exciting thing for me is that Vincent Tong, voice of Flash Sentry and Feather Bangs, gets to sing again! As a villain this time! I could make a joke about him embracing the role the fandom has given him this season (Feather Bangs, the waifu stealer, and now Rumble, the antagonist).
Oh and for those who don’t remember, Rumble is Thunderlane’s little brother, who appears in Hurricane Fluttershy. It’s been a while, but he looked cute there.
I wonder if Starlight will have any role in this episode...
The addition of the Cake twins is to Mane Thing also adds hype for me. I’m still on the fence with the episode concept, mostly because I need to see how they’re going to run with it (could be uncomfortable to watch Rares lose her mane if done wrong), but the Cake twins were extremely endearing in Baby Cakes, and it would be nice to see more interaction between them and Pinkie Pie.
This season has been spectacular so far, so I’m glad not too much was spoiled (or you know, leaked...) so we get to enjoy it in full!
Season 8 News
Seaponies confirmed for season 8, the Movie will tie into the show
Tumblr media
An animatic was released as well:
youtube
Find EQD’s report here.
SHE RETURNS!
I find it super interesting that Chrysalis is outright ignoring Starlight Glimmer while gathering DNA, given that she swore revenge against her. A large number of fans are speculating that this will be some sort of voodoo plot, where Chrysalis literally turns Starlight’s friends against her, like Starlight did to her.
Not only that, but if you look in the background of that animatic, you’ll find the mane 7 are in a suspiciously new building...
Tumblr media
Some have speculated it’s Twilight’s new castle (meaning the crystal castle will get destroyed at the end of season 7, which is alarming because it’s connected to the Tree of Harmony). I feel like it might be more of an addition to her castle, either a school of Twilight’s own (hence, calling the rest of the girls Twilight’s “teachers”) or a house of diplomacy of some kind, like a U.N. building for the different nations that Twilight and company have been befriending (dragons, changelings, griffons, yaks---heck, even Sunset Shimmer could be considered a diplomat from Equestria to the humans).
It’s still a mystery...
Also, sea ponies! And they’re adorable! They translate to show style really well, actually! And it only makes you wonder just how many other things will carry over from the movie....
New info!
Look for a Cheese Sandwhich cameo
G. M. Berrow wrote a Season 8 episode she is super passionate about and her favorite episode overall. Maybe more book tie-ins like in "Daring Done".
Josh Haber's favorite pony is The Great and Probably Going To Be In Season 8 Trixie!
Derpy won't get a featured episode like Episode 100, but she will be around, likely more than season 7.
There will be two-parters, and that's plural, so it sounds like we return to the opening and closing episodes being epic two-parters. So expect You-Know-You that we saw in that animatic to be in one of these!
Things we already know about season 8 that you may have forgotten:
26 episodes confirmed
Orchestra music from the movie to be used in some of the season’s songs, which are all finalized by now
As well, there will be twice as many songs are there are in season 7, since Daniel Ingram’s time won’t be split up between the show and the movie
Discord confirmed
Josh Haber returning as story-editor
Mike Vogel returning finally after working on the movie

So I was talking about how Sunset Shimmer should’ve gotten a villain song, and then about how there needs to be more villain songs in mlp in general because, seriously, the show has songs already, and villain songs are amazing! Why aren’t there more villain songs?
Anyway, the point is, that I’m going to come up with what the villain songs could have been, and maybe comparing them to fairly known villain songs.
Let’s start at the behinning: Nightmare Moon.
Tbh, from the fandom, we’ve gotten plenty of Nightmare Moon songs. But other than ‘Nightmare Night’, they’re all Luna songs. And yes, Nightmare and Luna are the same pony, and Nightmare is sympathetic. However, the show makes you forget that Nightmare is Luna until the end. Literally. The opening cutscene, which is a book Twilight is reading, tells us her story and that she is Celestia’s sister. But even Twilight forgets it until Celestia calls Luna a sister at the end. Nightmare wouldn’t get a sympathetic song, because they’re making you forget the fact that she is sympathetic.
What I’d want from Nightmare Moon’s song, would be more of a battle between her and Twilight when they’re alone with the Elements. Not a magic battle, but one of words. I used this concept in my fic ‘In Another World’, though that uses Spike and not Twilight, but the idea still applies. Basically, Nightmare uses the Shadowbolt trick again, but this time she’s openly asking Twilight to join her side. She’s singing of how similar they are, because tbh Nightmare probably can use some of her dreamwalker powers to see into others’ minds. She creates Nightmare versions of Twilight’s family members(though Shining Armor didn’t exist in season one but let’s ingore that) and even a Nightmare!Celestia. They sing backup to Nightmare and have their own verses singing to Twilight. Actually, think of it sort of like Friendship Game’s villain song. Nightmare Moon is Principal Cinch and the Nightmare!Family are the Shadowbolts.
And while I said there wouldn’t be a sympathetic song for Nightmare, the song has hints. Because she knows too much about certain things Twilight might feel. For example, an older sibling who’s quite perfect, and very looked up to. But also the fact that, as far as Twilight knows, Celestia never took her seriously.
And then, Twilight is about to give in. Maybe not to join Nightmare’s side, but give in to what she’s saying. What her Nightmare!Family is saying. Then, we have her hear everyone else’s voices, and she finishes out the song by cutting Nightmare off.
Next, is the fun one: Discord
While everyone loves a certain song about howling at the moon and sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon (Side Note that second part doesn’t really fit with the theme since who doesn’t do that?)
Discord’s villain song would definitely be while he’s ‘discording’ the mane six. Well, maybe not the whole time, but once everyone’s grayed out, he gives the song that delivers the final blow. It would have a ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’/’Friends on the Other Side’ vibe. The ‘I’m helping you by doing this, and totally not tricking you for my own gain’ feeling.
However, because of my personal Discord headcanons, the song has an air of anger and sadness to it. The things he says are things he truly believes. Especially the Honesty and Laughter parts, which I always kind of felt were the ones he was closest to. I mean, he does call Laughter his favorite, and expresses plenty of it, but he also never truly lies to anyone. He gives riddles, but no lies. So ‘they’re laughing at you, not with you’ and ‘it’s easier to lie to yourself than face the truth’ parts really hit home.
Chrysalis’ villain song, This Day Aria, was wonderful, and also the first villain song.
However, Sombra didn’t get a villain song!
Okay, well, Sombra didn’t get much character overall. And I have way to may headcanons about him for this. So let’s just say that either he should’ve gotten some sort of bombastic ‘Be Prepared’ song, or maybe ‘In the Dark of the Night’ song when he breaks through the barrier into the Empire.
Either that, or he gets a ‘Cruella de Vil’ style song, where he’s not actually the one singing. Instead, the Crystal Ponies are singing(and freaking out), telling of how horrible he is. Either way, it’s still a lot of buildup for ten seconds of screentime but still. We could’ve at least got a catchy song out of it.
Now, onto the one who started this, Sunset Shimmer!
Sunset’s villain song should definitely be big, but I want it to be before she becomes the demon. Because I want her song to be angry and sad. Not the ‘lol, I’m a massive bitch! Let’s sing about it!’ song, but something that gives her more past that. Like, why this means so much to her, what her past was like, and why she’s doing this. I mean, she was Celestia’s Student at one point, which means that she had to have been ‘good’ before, or else Celestia wouldn’t have had her as a student. And, you know what? Sunset’s just a kid. Like, I personally headcanon that she’s nineteen when EQG happens, but was thirteen when she had her falling out with Celestia. But,like, all the previous villains have been major people, ponies, whatever. Like, Nightmare was an Immortal Alicorn and ruler of the Moon, Discord is another Immortal and is the embodiment of Chaos, Chrysalis is a Changeling Queen and possibly an Immortal(I mean, she’s lie the Changeling version of an Alicorn), and Sombra might’ve been a Unicorn but he was also an evil tyrant king who enslaved an Empire! Sunset’s just a girl who’s angry and heartbroken, and making bad decisions because of it. Like, yeah, she turned into a demon at the end, but it’s obvious that she never meant for that to happen. But my point is that her villain song should show this.
So, if Tirek had a villain song:
His song would either be for when he convinces Discord to come to the dark side(Similar to Discord and Luna’s songs, but without true sympathy), or just a general ‘I’m evil and awesome’ song. like ‘My Lullaby’ or ‘Big and Loud’, or the Dentist song from Little Shop. Or we can combine the two and have a reprise of the Convincing Discord song after the Betrayal, which is all out evil.
The Sirens got two and a half Villain Songs(Battle of the Bands, Under Our Spell, and Welcome to the Show(WTTS is the half one since it’s a battle with the Rainbooms singing the other half of it))
Starlight got her Villain Song in ‘Our Town’,
However, she could’ve used a second one through the Time Battle with Twilight. Maybe a duet with Twilight in a montage of their fights and terrible futures.
Principal Cinch and the Shadowbolts got Unleash the Magic(This also counts as Sci-Twi/Midnight Sparkle’s Villain Song if you want to count her as a villain but she’s really more of the victim here.)
Chrysalis should’ve gotten a second villain song but I digress
And Gloriosa Daisy had a really cool villain song.

My MLP Future AU (beware long post)
Please if you read this tell me what you think...I spend hours on this. I will try to explain this as easy/organize(not so many rambling) as possible. I'm awful at story telling. But first.. -ENGLISH IS NOT MY LANGUAGE! PLEASE HAVE IN MIND I CAN MAKE MISTAKES.... and my dyslexia doesn't help shit -This Au is canon divergence. -5-30 years after season 6-7. -Some ponies don't exist in this AU (but just a few) -Believe me there's only 2-3 OC (One is a maybe) -The only ship that is canon in this AU is SunLight. I mean I will not say which other ship is canon because it will be for the people to interpret what they want....Okay I'm a multi-shipper and can't stand not having almost all the ships here. -If someone has ideas for this AU please tell me, I'm all ears. -This AU needs a better name Main story: Few years after season 6-7: It all starts with Sunset coming back to Equestria. Sadly in the human world is all gone to chaos and magic was actually discovered and exploited. This cause wars and shit to happen. Sunset and Sci Twilight (btw they are married) found a way to destroy all magic but learn that would destroy the connection with Equestria but either way they tried. In the process Sci Twilight...die (sorry) Sunset heartbroken that her wife died she destroys magic and in the last minute got through the portal. When she got to Equestria she stayed in Twilight's castle(no one trusted her and Twilight saw she was emotionally unstable) everything was normal (heartbroken and sad but normal) at first but later on the counselors of Equestria learn that Sunset return and so they bring up that Sunset once stole the crown/element of harmony and wanted her to be punished for it. Twilight and Celestia try to stop it. Both parties made a compromise and decided that Twilight will have to keep a watchful eye on Sunset and keep her custody. Sunset can't leave Twilight's side, she only will have freedom when they are inside the castle. Few months later: Celestia and Luna decided that they will retire (didn't tell any pony about it, just the counselors). This cause for them to choose somepony to be the next successor on raising and lowering the sun/moon, both choose Twilight and Sunset. Sunset started learning from Celestia, while Twilight from Luna (both Twilight and Sunset didn't knew why the princesses where doing that) But the counselors weren't very happy with this decision. They try to stop both Celestia and Luna and even suggested that they will be the ones raising/lowering the sun/moon like the old days. Both princesses shot the idea down so they decided to take action by their hooves. But they knew they needed power and this led them to Tartarus; there they were looking for a specific box, Pandora's box, and they open it. Inside the box there was a creature and they TRY to control it but fail. The creature needing life and well magic, he killed them. More months passed and ponies started to disappear (almost a 10% of the ponies population by then). This of course started to cause panic and dysphoria. This led to Celestia asking for help from Discord; he started investigating (mostly because Fluttershy made him promise he will help) but when he finally learned what was wrong it was too late. The creature already too powerful, took control of Tartarus and controls the minds of Chrysalis, Tirek, even bringing back to life, Sombra and create creatures to destroy Equestria. Attacking from different parts of Equestria at the same time cause the Royal Guards/police/Wonderbolts to be scarse and transforming Equestria in chaos. Both princesses command the mane 7(actually 8, with Starlight's help) to bring the ponies to safety(aka Canterlot). The princesses made a safe barrier to prevent the creatures from entering Canterlot. But before the Mane 8 leave they asked about the creature. Celestia with a little time, explain that it was a pony that found so much power that began to be corrupted. This cause him to look for more power and knowledge and found a way to control and mold ponies the way he wanted. The first pony victim been Discord. Twilight a little destroyed and disappointed to learn that this evil creature is actually Star Swirl the Bearded, wants to help the princesses but the help was refused for her safety. So Mane 8 helps with the evacuation. The princesses and Discord knowing that they will fail eventually, they reached a decision. They will sacrifice themselves to create a spell. This spell having 2 outcomes, is quite what they needed it. What this do is actually divide their power into some sorts of crystals and creates a barrier around Equestria. But there is a catch, not only they will lose all their power and possibly die, they will doomed all the ponies that are under the barrier to never aged (immortals but still can die from illness and other stuff). The crystals in the other hand(hoof?) can be use as a weapon for ponies to use against the dark creatures Star Swirl created. After doing the spell Starl Swirl had to return to Tartarus. While the spell did worked to keep Star Swirl out of Equestria and creating the barrier, his creatures could still create havoc as well at those he controls. Both princesses and Discord disappear later but during the spell Discord didn't quite go with the decision of the princesses made about dividing their power into million pieces. He actually stored all his power in one crystal. 15-17 years later: Sunset and Twilight rule over what is left of Equestria. Equestria still isn't the same. Those creatures destroy almost everything and there's only 30-40% of the pony population. Only Canterlot, Crystal Empire and a few shelters are inhabited while there rest of Equestria is covered in darkness. During those years ponies learned how to used the crystals and later called them 'Vidres'. But vidres aren't that easy. Each being different in many ways, their powers, shapes and how to control them. Not anypony can used it. But more importantly, they choose the wielder. Thanks to this no pony or monster can steal a vidre but it can be destroy. The pony doesn't die if the vidre is destroyed but if the pony dies the vidre shatters and no longer has the power. As well, using a vidre brings consequences, it gives you power but take something in return (this is why they cast a spell of the barrier to let everypony immortal). While they can't take the ponies lives anymore, they take something from the wielder, like the ability to walk or talk or see, etc(depending on the vidre's power). After this discovery Twilight and Sunset with the help of the Royal Guards and Wonderbolts create a school to help find and train ponies. So they can help protect Equestria and bring it back. More Facts about this AU: -All of Mane 7 have a vidre (Starlight does not have one) -Because there isn't much ground, races and tradition are mix up -In one place can be a lot of ponies with different accent -There's Batpony/pony hybrids -Sombra used to ruled Crystal Empire until the Mane 7 killed him. -During the invasion Sunset save a lot of lives turning her into a hero and later on she ascended into alicorn (with the help of Twilight) but in one accident she hits her head and got into coma and when she wakes up a few months later she didn't remember few stuff, one of those stuff been what happen in the human world (she still remembers a few stuff from there but not everything or why she left). She often tries to see if the portal works or tries to fix it but always fails. -Starlight is actually Twilight future daughter that came from the future by accident (Only Trixie knows this) -Trixie and the crusaders have vidres and teach at the school. -The barrier does prevent ponies from aging but is when that pony reach maturity. -For this reason the Crusaders are grown. -Spike is a full size dragon. -Discord's crystal nopony has it. Instead Discord gave it to Angel bunny and turned him into a pony to protect Fluttershy. -Angel is actually a white Batpony/pony hybrid now. -Fluttershy doesn't know is him but she has this deja vu every time she is with him and sometimes she just stares at him trying to figure it out. And it doesn't help that he is very overprotective of her, so she is very confuse. -Angel goes by different names, he never gives the same one every time someone ask him. -Because he has Discord's vidre he can lose control very easily. -Star Swirl had two daughters, those been Celestia and Luna, and one son. -Trixie is actually a decedent of Star Swirl's son. -Granny Smith die during the invasion, Applejack blames herself and this cause her to be a little more distant and quiet. -Each darkness of Equestria can be destroy if somepony(ies) destroy the point of concentration/portal of darkness that connects to Star Swirl. When destroy the barrier reacts and turn time(only in that space of Equestria) to when the invasion started. -Thanks to this places that used to be farms are top priority to save. -Some of the point of concentration are Chrysalis, Tirek and more. Mane 7's vidres: -Twilight and Sunset both have the power of illusion. -Twilight's more darker while Sunset usually involves fire. -Consequences in the long run: They both lose their sanity, not knowing what is real or fantasy. -Pinkie is teleportation -Consequences in the long run: Loses the ability to walk -Rainbow Dash can manipulate weather -Consequences in the long run: Loses the ability to fly -Rarity can read ponies minds (she doesn't like it at all) -Consequences in the long run: Loses the ability of magic -Applejack have small premonitions (she only can see a few seconds in the future and that's it)(Ex: If she is walking she can have a premonition that somepony will rob her in the next 5 seconds, and that's it, she can't see more than a min. into the future) -Consequences in the long run: Blindness -Fluttershy can heal -Consequences in the long run: Every injury she heals she actually transfers to her body. -One time she healed Rainbow of a terrible wing injury and she no longer can fly (this was before ponies knew about the effects) -Rainbow blames herself for this. Facts I'm still undecided to incorporated in here or not: -Twilight adopts a filly, her name is Dawn (original ik -_-) -Dawn is actually Sunset and Sci Twi daughter. -Before Sunset coming back to Equestria she was actually pregnant and came through the portal. -She gave birth a few days before the invasion -After waking up from the coma she didn't remember she had a wife, much less a daughter. -Twilight took full responsibility of Dawn, raising her like her own. -Dawn knows she is adopted but doesn't know her real parents. -Twilight not knowing how to tell her she keeps pushing for later or when she is going to tell her something occurs that stops her. Random facts that has been said before on my DA: -Sunset Shimmer is actually a (half) alicorn but a WINGLESS alicorn. This is because she was born premature, her wings didn't develop in a correct way; so she was put through surgery to remove her wings. -She does have scars on her back. -Alicorns are slow in development. Even so they look younger than the rest of the 'normal ponies' they have the same mind capability than the rest. Thought they do not live forever; they have the same live span of a 'normal pony' but they never get to appear old. But if it is a alicorn that was transform from a pony to an alicorn, they do get old and do not grow the same size of a full alicorn. -For this reason Sunset is smaller than the rest; even in the human world she used to use boots that had heels to appear taller to others. -So Twilight use this as a advantage (not always, only when Sunset get on her nerves). Like Sunset have to be with her 24/7, it gets to the time that they tend to annoy each other. -Example: Twilight want to re-shelve the library (again), by this time Sunset is tired of it and decides not to do anything even if Twilight ask her to help and this conversation happen somewhere in there. Sunset: "Tell me a reason why I have to do this again? You know I'm older than you, you should do what I ask fo-" Twilight: "'You know' I'm taller than you, plus I'm a princess.*smirk* So help me and don't make me turn it in to a order....please." Sunset: "I just realize I'm a bad influence towards you." -Through the years Sunset does grow taller than Twilight. She has Luna's height while Twilight stays the same. -Twilight doesn't like wearing her crown, and this make her kinda forgetful about the crown. Most of the time is Sunset, Starlight or Spike that reminds her to put it on before a meeting. -Sunset likes to tease Twilight....a lot but there are times that Twilight surprise her. -Celestia and Luna were both earth ponies. -They both lived with their father in a small village. -Their father owned a library and Celestia always had something to read, but Luna didn't liked when Celestia ignored her and always tried her best to get her sister's attention. -Most of the time Luna got her way but when 'Tia start to read a really good book, it was impossible to get her attention. And there it is...God it took me hours There's more but I will later draw them. So what do you guys think?

MLP?
Who I’d Protect at All Costs: Gonna be honest and say Fluttershy, even if she isn’t the fainting blossom she was in season one.
Who Deserves Better: I still feel like Spike the Dragon is under-appreciated. I liked seeing him in a properly supportive role in “The Crystalling”, and I loved seeing him take center stage and be kinda bad-ass in “Gauntlet of Fire”.
Who Was Killed Off Too Early: Can’t think of anyone, especially given that exactly one character has been killed onscreen (King Sombra).
Who I Used to Hate but Now Love: Pinkie Pie was pretty “meh” for me for a while, but seeing more of her than the “wacky walking sight gag” she was in season one has improved my impression of her.
Who I Used to Love but Now Hate: Nopony that springs to mind…
Who Needs to Be Killed Off ASAP: Oh, I couldn’t bear to see any but the worst, most irredeemable villains killed off.
Who Is Unfairly Hated: A toss-up between Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer, they both get way too much flack for being ex-villains who were “redeemed too fast”.
Who Is Unfairly Loved: Queen Chrysalis. Face it, bronies, she’s not “sexy”, she’s not “misunderstood”, and she’s definitely not “looking out for her people”; “To Where and Back Again” should have demonstrated she was hoarding love energy solely for herself.
Who Needs to Sort Out Their Priorities: Rainbow Dash still seems to be a bit too preoccupied with first impressions and “looking cool”.
Who Needs a Hug: Probably Starlight Glimmer. I know what it’s like to not have friends growing up (though I’ve never been desperate enough to use mind control or start a cult of personality).
Who Needs to Get Out of Their Current Relationship: No one, as far as I can see.
Who the Writers Love: I dunno about some fans, but I wouldn’t say the writers play favorites.
Who Needs a Better Storyline: I honestly wanna find out more about Zeroca. Where did she come from, what brought her to the Everfree Forest, does she have a family, do all zebras talk in rhyme like her… so many questions!
Who Has an Amazing Redemption Arc: Gonna have to go with Discord. He’s a lot of fun as a “not that reformed” mischief maker.
Who’s Hot AF: Well, I will agree with Trenderhoof that Applejack has a certain rustic charm… (yes, I know they’re non-anthro cartoon horses, shut up!)
Who Belongs in Jail: The Flim Flam Brothers, unrepentant cads that they are
Who Needs to be Revived from the Dead: Almost certainly not how this question was meant to be interpreted, but I wouldn’t mind some sort of episode where the Mane Six met some pony historical figures, like the founders from the Hearth’s Warming Day pageant or even Starswirl the Bearded himself.

So let’s see what Amore could have done to prevent the future evil events...
Tumblr media
So the first change. I’m going to give her credit this time and say that telling Sombra he can change his fate is a good thing. But here I would also add that “if there is anything that worries you, you know you can tell me.” This way, it’ll let Sombra and Radiant Hope know that if anything comes up they can turn to her to give an answer.
Tumblr media
So when Sombra becomes sick, Radiant Hope goes to find Princess Amore to help. Since she knows what’s happening to Sombra, I would like to believe she would be making a magical mcguffin to allow Sombra to see the Crystal Fair without the fear of being sick. After their day of fun, this is where I would go a different direction.
Tumblr media
After their day of fun, Amore tells Sombra everything. About him being an Umbrum. About why he got sick during the Crystal Fair. About knowing what he fears he would become. But she will also say once again that fate is in his hooves and if they get too heavy, Radiant Hope and her will be here along to help. So Sombra continues to live a relatively normal life though still having some fears.
Tumblr media
But as the years go on, the McGuffin begins to work less and less. This is because Sombra is becoming stronger and stronger. Even with Amore’s help, its still not strong enough. But luckily Radiant Hope is there to prevent him from breaking down and earned her cutie mark. And like the main timeline, this allows her to become a student of Celestia and Luna. But there is one difference...
Tumblr media
She’s not going alone. Seeing how important the two are to each other and Sombra’s fears, she asks Celestia and Luna to also take Sombra. With Radiant’s amazing talent and Sombra’s Shadow Pony magic, the two would be a big plus for the protection of Equestria. And when together, they seem to learn a lot better than apart.
Tumblr media
And killing two birds with one stone, it means Luna has someone to talk to about her fears and inner thoughts. After all, the two share a similar trait about being darkness. While not leading to a full on ship (much to Mina’s shame), this will also prevent Princess Luna from turning into Nightmare Moon
Tumblr media
Now to fulfill Radiant Hope to being a Princess, she figured out a way to help Sombra for good. Using the combined magic of the four Princess alongside her, she believes she can ensure Sombra won’t be negatively effected by the Crystal Heart. This allows her to become a Princess and become the 4th Princess she needed for her spell.
Tumblr media
When they returned to the Crystal Empire, Amore retired and Prince Sombra and Princess Radiant Hope ruled the Crystal Empire with grace. There was no Nightmare Moon, so no need for a Gifted School for Young Unicorns. No Wonderbolts too since they were created a year after Luna’s banishment.
Tumblr media
Sunset Shimmer’s desire for Princess began when she was selected, and grew even more when she saw the mirror. While she saw Hope as an example of how someone can become a Princess, her research showed how anyone can become an Alicorn, a status that is even higher than a Princess. Thus leading her to the Equestria Girls Universe.
Tumblr media
The Sonic Rainboom did happen since Dash wanted to prove herself in that race, so everyone who got their cutie mark because of it got it. Discord, since there isn’t much Chaos in the world is still in the statue. Twilight is sent to Ponyville to make friends for no reason other than to make friends. This was a much slower process than the original but overtime she did warm up to the others.
Tumblr media
But since she only got close to them much later, Twilight is on her own during the wedding. So the only pony she could count on is Spike. But since he doesn’t have to help he is there when Twilight makes her discoveries. Sadly Spike was too young to remember Cadance like Twilight does so he does play devil’s advocate. But the same thing happens here.
Tumblr media
Twilight does not become a Princess since she still has a lot of learning to go, but the plunder seeds did happen, creating enough Chaos to break Discord free while Twilight and friends discover that the Tree of Harmony needs the Elements to fix the problem. But since Celestia and Luna, the two who can control them, were captured, no one has access to them.
Tumblr media
Which means Discord can hide the elements and do whatever he wants. After all, no one is powerful enough to stop him. And thus we got the Discord Wins timeline. Another downer, but considering how easy it was for the first 1000 years it had to happen with Discord’s long play.

Two more chapters...
After the time to prepare ended, the two pairs of Twilight returned to the supposed Courtroom. Eventide was still in an astral form, ready to hear their opening arguments. “I am confident the four of you are prepared to make your arguments. So I shall allow the Pro-Celestia Side to begin opening arguments.” Lost Twilight nodded as Loyal Twilight moved towards the center. “Twilights of the Multiverse, I do not need to tell you the good Celestia has done for Equestria. You already know of them.”
Loyal Twilight continues, “She opened the School for Gifted Unicorns so talented Unicorns can strengthen their talents. She protected Equestria from Nightmare Moon. She helped the Apple Family found Ponyville, where we found the Elements of Harmony! Everything Princess Celestia has done is for the good of Equestria.” She turned to her opposition. “She even plans on stepping down so my friends and I can rule in her place. I am confident whatever fault you can come up with can’t overshadow everything she’s done. Thank you.”
Loyal Twilight returns to her side. “A very strong opening Loyal,” said Eventide. “Does the Anti-Celestia side have a counter argument?” Queen Twilight steps up. “I do!” Faithless Twilight was about to speak but was stopped by Queen. “I got this.” Faithless sits back down. “Good intentions are all well and good, but wouldn’t it be better if those intentions lead to direct solutions? How often is the problem something Celestia or those working for Celestia just moved it somewhere else so some pony else can fix it? Nightmare Moon? Sunset Shimmer? Discord? The Sirens? All things Celestia could have fixed long before she knew of us.”
She now turns to the other Twilights. “The fact she gave up rule towards you just proves even she thinks she’s not fit to rule. If Equestria got to live in Peace and Harmony, it has to be by our hooves, not hers.” Eventide looked at Queen Twilight as she walked back to her side. “Thank you. Your points have been made and are quite a thing to think of. And since you mentioned things, I think for the rest of this trial we shall focus on key moments.” And for the rest of the Trial, the two sides argued.
Beginning with Nightmare Moon, Queen argued that Celestia could have done more to prepare for Nightmare Moon’s return. Faithless even brought up the fact she could have formed an army to fight off Nightmare Moon. Loyal Twilight argued against those moments, bringing up the fact that she doubts all of Equestria could have defeated Nightmare Moon. But that’s when Lost Twilight brought up the idea that Celestia was not looking to defeat Nightmare Moon, but free Princess Luna. When it seems like neither side made any ground, Eventide stopped it and asked them to move on to the next subject.
This continued with numerous key moments in Twilight’s life. The Sleeping Dragon, Discord, Sombra, Queen Chrysalis, Sunset Shimmer, the Sirens, Tirek. Each moment was argued with neither side gaining momentum. But when Starlight Glimmer was the talking point, it seemed the tides were turning in Celestia’s favor. Faithless did not help the argument because she wasn’t prepared, but it was once again inconclusive. But when it came to talk about the Crystal Heart Shattering, Queen’s Arguments were weaker. While she argued about not letting them be adequately prepared for an Alicorn’s Birth, ultimately the fall of the Crystal Empire was her fault.
This upswing continued as the moments Queen Twilight never had to be involved with was brought up. Despite her careful research, the Pro-Celestia’s argument continued to grow. Because she imprisoned Starlight Glimmer and lost the Crystal Empire, the Changelings did not reform. Without Sunburst, the Pillars wouldn’t have returned or the Shadow Pony defeated. It was Twilight who founded the School of Friendship and six of those students went on to defeat Cozy Glow. Because Queen forced her rule, so much more suffered because of her own ego. It does seem like it would be a win for Pro-Celestia.
Queen Twilight was breaking down. Everything she thought was for the good of Equestria ended up worse. They lost so many resources because of her. No wonder Shining Armor and Princess Cadance haven’t talked to her since. That’s when Faithless knew she had to do it on her own. Still blinded by her own delusion, she knew she had one argument that would prove Celestia is evil. So with Queen Twilight still contemplating her own actions, Faithless Twilight is the one to give the final argument.

The Beginning of the End for a lot of things...
Tumblr media
It begins with everyone running towards Canterlot Castle. They all got an emergency summons to see the Princess and being an emergency, they think its the worst case scenario. When they arrived, nothing is wrong but the urgent summons is a legit urgency...
Tumblr media
They have decided to retire from being a Princess. And who’ll take over being the ruler of Equestria? A certain Purple Alicorn we all know. And the exchange in power will take place in a few days. Twilight takes it well...
Tumblr media
Twilight is so predictable on how she would react, everyone decides to call this Twilighting. Also a meta joke about Twilight wondering what they would do without Princess help and them realizing they really haven’t been.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, someone has been gathering the greatest villains of Equestria (as well as Chrysalis) together. This also includes the VERY TALKATIVE King Sombra. Earlier I was wondering how Sombra was going to be like and technically my 3 and 4 were correct...
Tumblr media
This Generation’s Grogar was the one who gathered them all together. And with him being able to get Tirek and Cozy out of Tartarus and Sombra from out of the Ether (gonna assume the shard explosion was that), he united them for one goal: to destroy Twilight and Her Friends.
Tumblr media
Now if you have been reading my Twilight and the Ministry, I have a currently ongoing story that has a similar premise. I joke about them stealing my idea, but a team of Super Villains uniting is a trope that pretty much anyone has done, and people have done with MLP. So let’s instead focus on improving problems I had with the villains.
Tumblr media
On Grogar’s side: the one thing that bothered me from his original was the frikkin bell weakness. Either remove the one around his neck or ring a giant unguarded bell and boom, you beat him. They removed the Bell and also made him not only the first ruler of Equestria, but also the father of monsters. In a sense, everyone here is his kids.
Tumblr media
On the flipside: Sombra has become a completely different character. He’s shown more personality (and said things) within this one scene compared to the two parter. In fact, he wants to go at it alone to take over the Crystal Empire himself. So Grogar allows it: if Sombra succeeds, he can keep the Empire. If he fails, either he’ll return to serve Grogar or return to the darkness he once came.
Tumblr media
At the School of Friendship, Twilighting has gone Code Red. Starlight tries to do reverse psychology by Twilighting herself when she heard the news that she’ll be taking over the castle and the school when Twilight takes over Equestria. Didn’t work.
Tumblr media
After being sent there by Grogar, Sombra takes over the Crystal Empire pretty easily. Those helmets mind control ponies, which he can do without them. And once he captured Flurry Heart, Cadance and Shining fell. Luckily she sent a note to Twilight before that happened. Of course, this wouldn’t happen if the Crystal Guards were good at their jobs.
Tumblr media
Back with Twilight, since Discord refuses to help (you’ll see why later), Twilight gathers her friends to stop Sombra by bringing with them the Elements of Harmony because they fear he will have the Crystal Heart. While Discord says it doesn’t count on handling things on her own, when family is threatened she has to take no chances.
Tumblr media
And they seemingly defeated Sombra pretty easily. But it turns out this was all a ploy by Sombra to follow them to the Tree of Harmony and destroy it alongside the Elements. At this point I figured: oh, they’re still in the Sombra Nightmare and they’ll bust out when they realize the elements are within them. But nope, this is all real.
Tumblr media
So let’s summarize the next few parts: Sombra captures them, decides to not give them the Sombra Nightmare Stare because he’s going to use Ponyville as his army against Canterlot. He succeeds in taking over Canterlot because the Princesses weren’t there. And because the Tree of Harmony was keeping the Everfree Forest in check, vines are taking over Ponyville.
Tumblr media
So remember when people were complaining that Sunset Shimmer’s plan wasn’t going to work? Sombra pretty much showed that yeah, it totally would have worked.
Tumblr media
Back to summarizing, the Girls dig their way out (including Rarity), Luna, Celestia, and Starswirl kept the Everfree Forest at bay and the girls got passed all of Canterlot and Ponyville (including against the Wonderbolts) to try to face Sombra on their own.
Tumblr media
With the exception of Discord because he probably could have solved this instantly. But after saying Fluttershy is his favorite, Sombra attacks her. Discord jumps in front of it to save her, and seems hurt serverely. But one last pep talk from him gives Twilight and the others the confidence to defeat Sombra.
Tumblr media
Because they are the Elements of Harmony. They don’t need no stinking Jewelry to defeat him. Sombra is defeated once more. Everyone is back. Discord reveals he was pretending to be hurt to give them confidence, and the Princess delaying their retirement because, while Twilight has proven she would be a great leader, it was unfair of them to rush her into the role.
Tumblr media
But with Sombra’s defeat Grogar warns them that unless they work together, they will succeed where Sombra fails. Overall, a great beginning to the end of the series. I bet this will lead to a great finale.
Rewriting it is going to be tricky. For starters, spoilers, Tempest is going to be working the Crystal Empire beat. So off the bat they’ll be major changes with the story going forward. Plus, I reformed Sombra taking into consideration the Siege of the Crystal Empire as canon. So I would have to figure out how Sombra became bad.
Decided to go the clone route because, face it, this Sombra and the Sombra we saw previously are like two completely different people. One is so questionable if he was a threat and the other definitely showing a lot more creativity, personality, and ability. And with how powerful Grogar is, I can totally see him making a Sombra from the Evil that left him (maybe throw in the Mirror Sombra as being a base, maybe not).
So the difference will be the following: Grogar united the villains to defeat Apple Bloom once and for all. He created the Copy Sombra to fill in the ranks, but because of how different he is refuses to go along and try to take over himself. Grogar allows it, knowing he could always make another. When Cadance sends a letter to Ponyville, its to Apple Bloom.
Tempest, realizing how the Storm King took over the Crystal Empire, went to protect Flurry Heart before Sombra could get to her. So Tempest and Cadance takes on Sombra while Shining Armor does his best to deal with those under mind control. Sombra is doing well since Tempest is doing double duty on protecting Flurry and Cadance, who she doesn’t want to see get hurt.
Apple Bloom eventually arrives and tackles Sombra away from the two. This gives Tempest time to give Flurry Heart to Cadance and join the fight proper. Sombra isn’t doing as well against two Green Lanterns, but every time Apple Bloom tries to capture him he slips by. That’s when Tempest got an idea.
Using the Ring, Tempest creates a Green Energy Ball that looks similar to her time working with the Storm King. While Apple Bloom continues to distract, the Tempest comes out of nowhere and hits Sombra head first with it, turning him into stone. Apple Bloom catches him before he smashes to the ground, because she wants answers as to why Sombra turned bad again.
So while Grogar warns the others about failure, the real Sombra and Hope make their way back to the Crystal Empire, finally finding a way for Sombra to be next to the Crystal Heart without being hurt. This will lead to next week’s story... Also, I’ll be needing to resprite Sombra as well as make a new Tirek sprite. I get the feeling I’ll be needing them soon enough.

Yes, I Mean Aside From the Fact that She Doesn’t Exist
Before you say it, you observant fans you, Daybreaker is just a product of Starlight’s nightmares. Not even Celestia’s herself, which could arguably reveal some deep perception of her greatest faults, but in fact Starlight’s imagination run wild.
I chose the title knowing I’d get that sass (and people who comment before reading), and I’ve made my peace with that.
What I really wanted to examine this summer solstice was, as FimFiction’s Dusk Raven put it, how to break the day (by the way, the topic of the editorial was definitely heavily inspired *cough cough* by the premise of that story, and while I’m going to avoid just straight up ripping off Dusk’s idea for how it could happen, I suggest you check it out if you’d like a good read).
What would break Princess Celestia? How has she stayed strong for so many years in the face of tragedy, heartbreak, and was there ever a temptation to give into those feelings?
Celestia’s a Loser
Tumblr media
I of course mean that in the Guardians of the Galaxy sense: a character whose lost a lot.
Only Luna’s isolation could rival Celestia for just how tragic she is. I said in this editorial that in a show called Friendship is Magic, exile is the worst punishment imaginable, but the sheer number of ponies Celestia’s had to lose that were important to her is heartbreaking.
Her mentor, Starswirl the Bearded. Her sister, Luna. Her lover, the Good King Sombra (in the Reflections arc, which I seriously need to stop bringing up...). Her (unfaithful) student, Sunset Shimmer.
And, to a smaller but still meaningful degree, her most faithful student, Twilight.
And lest we forget the fact that being immortal and/or having a long lifespan inevitably means the loss of thousands of friends.
I think more than anything else, these losses are what taught Celestia the value of friendship.
She first seemed to know friendship in The Journal of the Two Sisters, during the time when she and Luna first became princesses and came under Starswirl’s tutelegde. Here, we the see the emergence of her sense of duty to her subjects, something that sticks with her throughout her entire life.
Later, the first issue of Legends of Magic depicts a young (seemingly teenage) Celestia: arrogant, insensitive, and hesitant to show the love and respect for her sister and mentor that’s really there. Quite the jump, but then again, teenagers have a lot on their plates and usually develop quite a lot from when they were younger.
So, while earlier depictions in The Journal of the Two Sisters actually heavily imply she was more like Twilight when she first took the throne (a worrier by nature, yet excited to take on the responsibility with a reverence), here we see an older Celestia whose perhaps a bit too used to her tiny crown and little shoes.
Would it be too on the nose to make comparisons to Icarus? ... Probably.
Next in the order of events, Discord takes over, and I think given the timing, it was Luna and Celestia’s love of their subjects and their kingdom that gave them enough to bond over to use the Elements.
Discord may have initially taken advantage of the fact that at this time, the sisters would’ve been drifting apart---after all, it can’t be long after that Luna becomes Nightmare Moon (both were banished/trapped in stone for one thousand years). So even if their sisterly bond wasn’t as strong as we know it to be, they still managed to come together thanks to a love of how Equestria used to be before their lives got flipped, turned upside down.
Speaking of Nightmare Moon, I know some fans prefer to believe Nightmare Moon is 100% Luna’s fault, no nightmare forces or environmental factors about it. And while I think the choice and the blame should ultimately fall on her, there was a part of the original myth in episode one that was left out. How much Celestia noticed to growing bitterness and depression before it was too late.
Her Legends of Magic depiction implies that even if that teenage arrogance was a just a phase, Celestia’s inability to support her sister only contributed to her eventual downfall. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t supportive or kind at all, just that she couldn’t/didn’t help when Luna needed her.
Most of the blame absolutely still falls on Luna, but given the usual themes of the show, this makes sense as a cautionary tale of what can happen when love and friendship aren’t offered in someone’s time of need.
It’s still my thought that Celestia was able to use the Elements of Harmony by herself because she was acting for what was best for her sisters and her subjects (not just that she’s a one-pony friendship god who doesn’t need others to use the elements). The act of using the Elements of Harmony completely alone makes me think her reasons for using them were why she could pull that off.
And if that’s the case, it seems the biggest lessons she’s had to learn in friendship are how to let somepony go for their own or the greater good.
Just thinking about how many of her loved ones she’s lost or said goodbye to out of a sense of duty, you start to wonder what more could be done to break her spirit (or maybe that’s just me).
Humanize that Horse!
Tumblr media
It took us 7 years to get a proper Celestia episode... 7 long years...
For the vast majority of the show, we’ve known Celestia as Twilight knows her. The wise, mysterious, kind, (if mischievous and cake-obsessed) mentor and leader to all Equestria. Because of that, we’ve relied mostly on her backstory and the hints scattered about in her appearances to infer the depths of her character.
She’s played such a nurturing role as a teacher that she’s become quite beloved in the fandom, but the demand for an episode always went hand in hand with the demand to further develop her character.
So, this season we began from a familiar place: her student-teacher relationship with Twilight. But for the first time since Celestia’s Ballad, we got to flip the perspective, and it was so refreshing!
We’re so used to seeing Celestia put trust in Twilight to handle dire situations that it can be easy to assume she never worried about her or their relationship, but it’s heartwarming to know just how much Celestia loves her student. And that she even can get that worried, even if she knows Twilight (whose cutie mark is on the Tree of Harmony) could ultimately be somebody she places a lot of faith in.
In the past, I’ve felt that the IDW comics have often captured more emotion behind the royal sisters than the show has, but with this move, it’s starting to feel like a better balance.
Especially given her next appearance, in A Royal Problem. Here, the sisters have fallen back into the habit of unknowingly neglecting each other’s feelings because of their duties, but this time on a much smaller, less serious scale.
Their sibling rivalry bond elevates it into a fight when it’s brought to their attention, but the solution of A Royal Problem is quite excellent in addressing the flaws fans are fed up with, and the true strengths of both of the royal sisters.
Celestia and Luna not doing enough has been a complaint in the fandom for a while. Even though they’re the countries leaders who by all means should be protected (the vast majority of world leaders aren’t on the battlefield), since they seem really powerful, we want to see them kick ass! Be heroes themselves! If they have the ability to help, it’d be a nice way to show they care at the very least.
But not being the focus of most of those types of stories... well, you’ve watched the show. Finding roles for them can be exceedingly difficult without either taking their power away to prove the severity of the threat.
But here, even when they can’t rely on their powers, Celestia and Luna prove a love for their subjects and for each other gives them the strength to fight on until the day is won. That, more than anything else, is Celestia’s greatest strength. As I’ve said in past editorials, she’ll do what’s right for her subjects and loved ones even at great cost to herself.
So, they’re proactive, capable, and ultimately extremely caring. Throw in a few kick ass show of power (which were illustrated by the dreamscape counterparts at least) and you have exactly what fans have been dying for for years!
Perhaps even more importantly, Celestia and Luna are given the freedom to be characters. They’re allowed to be a little bitter, they’re allowed to be a little anxious, and have minor, silly problems that they need perspective on. They’re both self-centered in their approach to connect with the other, which causes the conflict. Even immortal princesses are still ponies.
So, pardon the phrasing, these two episodes this season have been extremely humanizing. So, coming back to our question at the top, we now know very well that Celestia isn’t a perfect, untouchable goddess, and that things---whether they’re as big as losing a student or as small as her sister not having pancakes with her---can hurt her. She can feel broken.
But unlike the imaginary Daybreaker, Celestia’s managed to keep focus on what would really be best for her subjects by putting them before herself. Because of the sacrifices she’s had to make again and again, Celestia’s learned what it means to be a truly great leader.
What? Editorials? Pony editorials? Oh yeah, I’ve got those! I also have episode reviews (though they’re a biiit behind), and to split the difference, here, have the latest three things I’ve done:
