(1) he continued flipping the coin as he silently mouthed: Will she kiss him? Will she die? Will she kiss him? Will she die?

(2) Jacks gave her a look that said he couldn’t believe she actually thought he would answer.

(3) “Who’s Marisol?” asked LaLa.

“Her stepsister, but I don’t understand why we’re talking about her now,” Jacks said.

(4) Jacks groaned. “First, I can’t kill anyone or cut out any tongues—”

(5) “What are you doing here?” Evangeline asked.

“Yeah—this is my dream!” The Handsome Stranger tossed a dart at LaLa.

(6) Jacks cleared his throat.

Chaos averted his eyes.

(7) “If you think I’m jealous because someone else got to stab you, then you’re right.”

(8) Jacks ground his jaw. “You’re a nasty piece of work.”

“I’m just telling the truth.”

“So am I,” Jacks said.

Just putting it out there but I refuse to believe Lala should be considered Evangeline’s best friend 🥱

Her BESTIE is 100% Luc and will always be Luc.

He’s like that one guy you dated in Elementary school just to have a “boyfriend” but turns out you’re just meant to be friends.

Like he got cursed by Marisol and turned into a Vampire and wasn’t even mad about it, and never once did he blame Eva.

While on the other hand Lala placed a deadly curse on Evangeline for not opening the Arch, and didn’t really care about Eva getting hurt or the consequences.

Luc is Eva’s best friend and I refuse any other choice.

I did to imagine 10 years after the Acftl that Evajacks are married with a couple of kids and their favorite relative is “Uncle Luc.”

Like he’s cannonly a goofball and funny and always getting on Jacks last nerve so I just know the kids would love him.

💗💕💞💖💕 appreciation post to stephanie garber for writing fmcs that can truly embrace their femininity without ever feeling ashamed, that her girls can wear the prettiest dresses in the world and have the most courageous kind souls but would fight to the death for those they loved.

appreciation for her fmcs that aren’t perfect, that are absolutely flawed in unique ways but grow over the course of the books, that openly LOVE love! that love isn’t frowned upon, that it plays such a vital part at the core of her stories. the fmcs fight for love and for the people they care about. they make messy messy choices but they learn.

they have different dreams, different hea endings!! and i love how thats narratively absolutely okay !!!! how each girl’s happily ever after is unique to them and appreciated and validated !!! scarlett always wanted her kingdom and she found her perfect flirty prince in the end like she wanted !!! tella wanted the adventures, to always see the world and have her right hand man right there to experience that with her and she got it !!! eva wanted her true love, she wanted to be someone’s everything, to have a love powerful enough to break curses and she deserves that, she has it she found someone who reversed time FOR her !!!

but what i’m saying is: every girl’s dreams and hopes and happily ever afters are different but that doesn’t make one superior to the others. their femininity isn’t seen as a bad thing, their kindness or selflessness or feeling such a wide range of emotions from rage to fear to heartbreak/sadness isn’t seen as weak. its so refreshing to see books like this. i’m a hopelessly romantic girl so to see that makes me so feel understood, so represented and inspired !! it makes me feel hopeful personally. anyways, stan stephanie !!! stan her fmcs !!! 💘💕💞💗💕
